  • What a grinch. Thankfully the considerate outweighs the negative Nancy's.

  • I main David and I'm a total team player. Don't judge the shirtless David crew!

  • For me, it's simple. Once I'm P3, I don't have to worry about ever losing any event items because I'm already maxed out. If I decide to prestige another survivor later, I will lose out on any event items I had for them. With a P3 survivor, I don't.

Thank you for the help. One more thing, cross play/save between ps5/ps4 good?

Yes, everything carries over. All you need to do is equip perks for every survivor and killer because they're all blank. Gotta make loadouts for everyone again.

  • Overall, the majority of the complaints from both sides does not bother me in the slightest.

What bothers me these days are my team mates since lately I've been getting team mates who are not team players or do gens. At red ranks.

Outside of that though, everything is mostly good now on PS5.

  • Yes. You have to get the trophies again. Not a big deal, IMO.

the pros (game runs amazing) out weights the con of not having trophies transfer over.

I rarely use exhaustion perks, I might start adding Sprint Burst to my build. How is Detective’s Hunch a useful solo perk? I’m not disagreeing, I’m just genuinely asking since I don’t have that perk and want to know more if it’s worth getting and leveling up that survivor.

Detective's Hunch will highlight totems, gens, chests, hooks, etc for a certain range after every generator is completed. Ruin and Undying are meta right now and I can't tell you how many matches as a solo where the other survivors don't do totems. It'll also help you memorize the totem spawns so once you know where they spawn, you can swap them out for a different perk. Plus, cleanse all totems and you also prevent NOED if the killer has it.

  • From my experience in solo queue red ranks, it turns people into terrible survivors. They'll miss skill checks when it triggers, run away from the gen at the sight of it lighting up, and more than often end up running into the killer for a free hit or down because they have no sense of direction of where the killer is.

  • Kindred, Bond, Iron Will, an exhaustion perk, detective's hunch/small game are all useful solo queue perks.

The biggest one is Kindred as it gives you information on the killer, where your team mates are, what gens they are working on, if you don't need to bother going for the save, etc. It also gives your team information when you're hooked.

  • If the game is affecting your ability to have fun, either take a break or play a different game.

Is part of the community toxic? Yes. Should it affect you so much on a personal level? No. If it does, as mentioned, either take a break or play a different game. Maybe stick to single player games where no one can be "toxic".

  • She's actually so awesome on PS5. I played Nurse on PS4, but all the frame rate drops, and unstable FPS made her very challenging to play. On PS5, she plays like a dream with constant 60fps.

  • I hate them so much as survivor. I play solo queue and whenever I load up or others load up with a damn key, the killer plays really scummy (I can't blame them) or they'll leave me to die on the hook once enough gens are finished for their SWF/key user to get the hatch.

I would LOVE to play with a green key with aura add ons/obsession ring add on, but don't because there is NO way for the killer to know its a green key in the loading lobby.

  • Leader. I pair it up with Bond to get healed fast by other survivors and its come in so handy to have someone open the exit gates fast or cleanse ruin/Undying. I wish more survivors ran it!

  • I've got all the dudes prestige 3 with all perks unlocked.

For the females, I've only got Laurie with all the perks. No prestige.

  • Rainbow maps. I love going around and tracking stuff to outline for my team. Also, I find glass bead (the beam of light) to be very helpful to coordinate where something is/what needs to be worked on.

  • I'm not on PC (PS5), but I have never had the killer accuse me of being in a SWF. In fact, it's been the other way around lol. I've had other solo survivors assume I'm in a SWF with other people or actually give me kudos for being a total team player.

  • I've had the same experience as the OP. Rank 2 survivor and it felt like when they turned on MMR for the very first time. Nothing was getting done in any of my games. I was the only one doing everything; doing the gens, lasting in chases, rescuing/healing...

I gave up and played R6 instead. No regrets.

  • I don't know ######### is happening, but tonight has been VERY rough as solo survivor for me. I'm the ONLY one going for saves, doing gens, meanwhile my team mates are doing absolutely NOTHING. I end up giving up on my first hook because minutes go by with nothing being done. In the end results I check ranks and they are so mixed it's insane. The killers know what they're doing meanwhile my team mates are acting like they're brand new to the game. It's so frustrating.

It honestly feels like when they turned on MMR.

  • I run love running bond and leader. The other two perks can be whatever, but I can't stress enough how bond and leader has helped me and the team tremendously.

Kindred is definitely a great solo queue perk so if I'm not running bond, I'm running kindred instead.

I'd use aftercare more if the majority of the time my team mates didn't sandbag me with it.

  • I'm HORRIBLE with his chainsaw.

  • Amazing idea. I will attempt it as a solo!

  • It's because you can't do anything. You can only 'dodge' the swings maybe once, but after that, what's there for the survivor to do? They can't interact or stand a chance. The dead zones are definitely an issue IMO.

  • They have been because I'm still playing it on the daily.

  • If I'm healthy, why would I waste a pallet? The only time I'm dropping a pallet when I'm healthy is if I'm facing an insta down killer. That's it. Otherwise I'll loop and won't drop any until I'm injured.

  • Every time Huntress misses her M1. I laugh every time!

Also, every time someone misses a skill check on a gen, and whoever didn't miss it let's go of it and just stares at you/you stare at them.

  • One day, David will become the killer!

  • @TheClownIsKing

Unfortunately I didn't get my PS5 delivered today, so I've got a couple of questions!

    - did you transfer DbD PS4 on an external HDD to a PS5 or did you download it on the PS5 store + dlc?

    - Did your rift progress transfer over?

    - did your builds for survivor and killer also transfer or did you have to make your builds again?

    - did your rank and devotion transfer safely?

Thanks! Crossing my fingers Amazon delivers it Friday for me.

  • Omg. This is fantastic news! I'm still at work and I'm so eager to get home and play it on PS5!

  • Interesting story on PS4:

Last year, I ran into a Nurse who had the 3 blink add ons. It was a very rough game for Nurse where the Nurse wasn't getting any downs/hooks. On PS4, the Nurse is a very difficult killer to control and one of the hardest trophies in the game is the one that requires you to chain 3 blinks and grab someone. This Nurse killer was obviously new to playing Nurse and I thought to myself, what if they're trying to get the trophy? I went up to the nurse and signaled that I knew they were going for the 3 blink trophy. Nurse blinked 3 times, gen grabbed be and let me escape. I got a message from this player thanking me for giving him the hardest trophy in the game. Later on that night, I ran into him again only this time he was going for adept. Unfortunately, another rough game. But we messaged each other again after the match was over and parted ways again.

Now... Maybe like two week ago, I had one of the most intense end game matches against a Myers who was slugging the remaining survivors, preventing us from opening the gate. Myers had killed off one of the survivors and there were 3 of us left. All throughout the match I was super altruistic in saving/healing. Anyway, only myself and this Felix managed to escape, and we could not save the Meg. I get a message after that match and it turns out it was from that Nurse player from a YEAR ago thanking me once again for having one of the most intense survivor match he's ever had! Hahaha. We exchanged a couple of messages and he friend requests me. I couldn't believe it. I looked up his name and it turns out he's an active streamer on Twitch and was streaming the match we just finished. I went back to watch it and it was so wholesome watching his live reaction of him messaging me after the match, realizing it was me from a YEAR AGO and reading our year old messages. Not only that, but explaining it to his viewers too. Hahaha.

    Talk about a crazy reunion!

  • Here's hoping we don't wait long for a performance boost!

  • I'll wait for them to go to struggle, especially if I'm going across the map to go and unhook you. You want to waste my time going out of my way to go and save you, then I'll waste yours. I like running we'll make it a lot, so yeah.

  • There's been a huge influx of them tonight for me lol.

  • It makes an obsession if there isn't one. That's what I've noticed while using it yesterday.

  • Don't over commit to a chase. If possible, injure as many survivors as you can to apply multiple pressure. You'll either force them to heal, or leave them injured where they're 1 hit down. You can also slug, which I know is boring for the survivor, but it forces someone to leave their objective to pick up the slugged survivor.

  • Yep, it's a very luck based frustrating challenge. I also took a long time to get it done. Just have patience. You'll get it. Kindred + Borrowed Time is a must for it, IMO.

  • I swear there was one game where I must have stepped on six of them. Even the survivors and killer messaged me saying if I was okay. 😂

  • For survivor it's always been Leader for me. I cannot tell you how handy it's come in some of the matches I've played. That 25% boost is so useful to the team and to myself for those heals.

Right now though desperate measures is slowly creeping up for me. It combos so well with other perks and I absolutely love pairing it up with we'll make it.

  • I'm shocked this actually happened. I'm one who spent some of my shards for the Feng outfit and to find out that the very next day it's already discounted by a HUGE margin is one of the biggest slaps in the face I've ever seen from a company. Those of you defending this are either shills or disguised BHVR employees. I wouldn't have an issue if this year's blight stuff went on sale later, since that's something all cosmetics get eventually. However, to have these items get a huge reduction the FOLLOWING day after they're released? Yeah, no. This is BS.

    Straight up.

  • I got it on PS4 last night. Go through the list of fog whisperers and check out if they're live and if they have a low view count. Hang out with them for a bit and the streamer I got it from was French (ChiTai) and had around 150 viewers. He was displaying the code, but kept the last two hidden to give us console players a chance to input the code. He made a countdown and revealed the final two letters in the chat.

So there's hope for us console players with awesome streamers like him!

  • Hope it works while injured. I'd use it more if it worked that way too.

  • Yeah, this will be really difficult to obtain, IMO. It's even worse on console since it takes forever to type the code.

  • It's barebones. What you described is exactly it. Event hooks and event gens that give you a little extra BP when you complete an event gen/hook them in the event hook.

The flowers spawn whenever survivors are attempting to finish the blight challenges in the rift.

2 years ago, they had the flowers spawn for survivors with special offerings to spawn more. You had to find the flowers and harvest their nectar to fill up a vial. Once filled, you'd have a competed vial. Completed vials would be used for getting the Hallowed Blight skins instead of using shards or auric cells. The option to use shards or auric cells were there, but you could technically get some of them without having to pay anything and grind vials. Killers had to hook survivors on special event hooks which would give a little bit of nectar to fill up the vial. You could only get nectar once per event hook, so you weren't able to use the same hook again to gain more nectar.

The issue with the event two years ago is that survivors would not do gens at all since they'd go around the entire map to farm for nectar. Once they had completed their vial, they'd alert the killer so they'd get hooked and throw the game to move on the next game. This sucked because throughout the majority of the event, survivors did not do gens so hardly anyone would escape. For killers, it was harder to harvest 1 vial during the match because they needed a lot of hooks, and remember - only event hooks granted them progress for their vial. In addition, only like 2 or 3(don't remember) event hooks spawned, so if no one burned offerings, no extra flowers or event hooks spawned.

So compared to two years ago, this event is indeed very lackluster, but we'll see if spawning those flowers will cause any issue this time around lol.

  • I've completed all of them so far, but the grind IS real. Some of the challenges also encourage you to play very selfish to complete them or require you to have very good luck with killer/survivor. I noticed that in this rift, they are bringing back the challenge from the very first rift which was to save someone from the hook once EGC starts. Granted, it's saving one survivor only, but remember, this is ONLY level 1 of the current tome. By level 4, that number would increase like all the other challenges...

BHVR does need to re-evaluate the rift system. Put more rewards in the free track, rework some of these very grinding challenges, increase the XP you get per match, reward more rift fragments, etc. I get why they hesitate since you can earn your auric cells back, but who cares? If people can complete it and earn it back, they can spend it on something else or the next rift, which guarantees people coming back to play your game!

  • All the replies are not an exaggeration. It's REAL. omg. This game is seriously borderline unplayable right now for me. Base PS4...

  • I've replaced borrowed time with we'll make it. I use it with Kindred and can heal everyone back up in no time. Yes, I understand that when the killer is proximity camping, I can't safely rescue them since I don't have borrowed time, however most of the other randoms do, which allows me to quickly heal them to go for group saves. I can't stress enough how many times it's come in clutch for late game saves and picking up slugged survivors immediately. Pair it up with desperate measures and you'll heal someone in like 5 seconds!

  • Thank you for the summary recap. All of this was pretty informative and I can't wait for the Halloween event!

  • I feel the same way. Sometimes I face off an obvious inexperienced killer, so after I let him chase me for a bit, I will stop by the hook and point at it so the killer can at least get some hooks, or I'll let EGC get me. I have been there not being able to get any hooks so I can imagine how frustrated they might be playing a match getting gen rushed or chasing multiple survivors without any hooks.

If I'm killer, I can also tell when I'm facing not very good survivors. I'll 2 hook them, give them chases, and ultimately let them escape. I always get thank yous afterwards if they're on PS4.

  • Lately I've been playing without it and I'm kind of shocked that there's been so many lobbies full of survivors that don't have it on either/or the killer bringing no obsession perks. Guess how those matches go? The killers always tunnel the person who was unhooked, even if they're saved with BT. I want to continue playing without, but every time there is no obsession, the killer tunnels the unhooked survivor and they're eliminated within minutes. It's a pretty miserable experience. That's why as a solo, I always equip it to at LEAST great an obsession and make the killer try to play around it.
