Here's a close up, Dwight's head made it look longer that it actually is

  • This needs to be pinged

  • tbh, Locker aura blindness for survivor inside and other survivors aroud him is a straight up nerf to Solo players, whilst SWF can easily have this kind of info.

If BHVR is actually planning to close the gap between Solos and SWF, can they at least start by not nerfing Solo teams any further in the first place?

  • This change was probably made because of Blendettes that would blend into stuff and you actually wouldn't be able to see her at all, like when L4D2 shirt was completely black.

As the devs said it, the whole point of Stealth is not being seen in the first place, not hugging the wall and hoping the killer isn't going to notice you at point blank range.

  • Yeah, Amanda's Letter is absolutely horrible, it actually hinders you more than it help.

A good fix would be perhaps making it so your ambush lunge lasts longer or something, or remove the decreased amount of traps so it would atleast stop hindering you so much.

  • I'm pretty sure that people who say and make threads about wanting to nerf Billy are either baiting or they just installed the game.

Also, Billy is 3rd in the top, Spirit is 2nd and Nurse is obviously 1st. With Spirit being the most annoying killer to play against next to release Legion, I swear, I'd rather go against a great Nurse than good Spirit, as there is practically no counterplay against her, and the one she's supposed to have is not even working in the first place (Grass is supposed to move whilst she's phasing, but it doesnt).

A good fix to Spirit so she'd have any counterplay would be removing collision with survivors while she's phasing.

Still don't understand why the camera is placed below the grass anyways. Balance is definitely not the reason why.

My guess is that it's because the camera is on shoulder level on most of the killers so they wouldn't be able to look over the loops and etc. But it's still stupid that whenever you're crouching your camera is sniffing the floor, and actually gives you disinformation on how well you're hidden.

Ghost Face is in a pretty good spot. There's some edge cases we'd like to iron out (cases where you can't reveal him when you probably should be able to, cases where you can reveal him when you probably shouldn't be able to), but overall he's performing pretty well.

The Plague is still being monitored. We don't have anything to announce just yet. We've got a long list of killers that we're planning to look at. We need to weigh our options and figure out what's the most important thing to change first. Right now, that's an add-on pass for the Nurse. Who knows what the future will hold.

It's not a matter of being radio silent, we just don't have anything to announce yet. There's only so much we can do at once.

tbh, Ghostface should get a part of his power back whenever he downs a marked survivor, so he could go back into stealth by the time he hooks the marked survivor, currently you'll WANT the survivor you're currently chasing to reveal you so your power would start recovering sooner cause you'll most likely down that survivor anyway.

  • The problem with SWF is that this game is not balanced around them in the first place, it's balanced around all 4 solo teams.

The tremendous gap between solo teams and SWF needs to be closed so there would be more room for killer buffs that need it the most.

By not playing a top tier killer against SWF team you're essentially just asking to get shrekt.

  • The problem with DS is that Killer will still get punished even if he doesn't tunnel or camp.

He could hook the guy with the DS, go to the other side of the map, hook another guy, the guy with DS gets unhooked, Killer comes back and hook the guy who unhooked the one with DS, randomly finds the guy with the DS, and he'll still have it active.

DS needs to deactivate whenever killer hooks another guy, unless the person with the DS was downed at the moment of another guy getting hooked.

  • Billy's so OP, he needs a nerf ASAP, like, what do you even do? It's like whenever he revs up his chainsaw you're already dead and there's nothing you can do, and why are killers even allowed to have such big mobility speed? My idea to nerf him would be so his chainsaw is no longer insta down, and he also has to search lockers for fuel, his map pressure alone is already OP as #########.

It's a lot more complicated than it seems. To keep it simple: When you create a 2D texture for a 3D model, you need to unwrap it first. Otherwise you're trying to stick something 2D on something 3D, and it's like sticking a round peg into a square hole.

Here's an example that I found on Google:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/510/12DT3VIXJ1FR.png

    (Source: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d3/87/3b/d3873bc48632cea842b1c6724c767d09.jpg)

Obviously ours are going to be a little different, but you get the idea. Parts of the character are flattened out into a 2D form that the artists can paint. To save space, parts are shifted around and rotated in order to fit into the smallest space possible. This keeps the overall file size of the game down, and when you have dozens of outfits, that's a pretty big deal.

That creates another problem though: You can't just slap a layer of blood on top of that and call it a day. Notice how the pants (the tan section in the bottom left) are beside the torso. If you put a blood layer on top of this texture, there would be a very noticeable seam between the upper and lower body. The texture would not line up. You would see a similar thing happen between the front and back of the torso, between the head and the neck, the arts and the hands, etc.

This is why prestige isn't available on every cosmetic. An artist would need to go through and bloody each cosmetic piece one by one. It takes a huge amount of time, and that's time that could be spent working on completely new outfits that everyone can have (not just those who are P3, since not everyone likes to prestige).

TL;DR: It would be great, but it's not quite possible. It would take a ton of time to do since they need to be done individually.

Can we at least get a Chad P3 David King scar with a beard cosmetic? His default P3 cosmetic looks like Twin from Outlast, and most likely no one ever wears it.

  • Hm, how about giving both you and the survivor you rescued a sprint burst without exhaustion if you rescue them within killer's terror radius without any of these Deep Wound status effects?

  • I don't understand why most of the people here seem to be bashing at killers for apparently wanting an easy game, there's no gurantee its gonna be easy even against a team of solo.

The problem with SWF in the first place that this game is not balanced around them, it's balanced around solo players, and devs are not doing absolutely anything to boost solos up to the SWF lvl.

Essentially a SWF team gets perks like Bond, Kindered and many more for free whilst making perks like Knock Out and The Third Seal useless, as well as telling each other info about their finding (where is killer's hex totem, where the killer currently is, is he chasing someone, is he about to come back to the hook, what kind of build each of the survivors has, as well as what kind of perks the killer has only when 1 of them sees it in action, etc)

You're bashing killers for wanting to play a fair game that's balanced around solo players, or at least let them prepare before getting ######### on by a competent SWF team.

  • @Acromio said:

He's a M1 killer, so the standard build for low tier garbage should do the trick: Bamboozle, Spirit fury, Ruin, Brutal strength.

You could do that, but just expect that you're not going to get any Brutality or Deviousness points.

With my build I always get at least 6k BP in those categories,

though that is as long as I'm not versing someone with Object of Obsession, but it would seem that stealth killers will get a new status effect that prevent them from being detected by perks like OoO and Spine Chill, which is great cause those are meta perks. The only detection perk that counters Tier 1 Myers is Premonition, but not like people use this perk anyways.

  • The must have perks on him would be Whispers (to know which gen you need to sneak up at the start of the match) and Ruin (to slow down the game just a lil' bit because stealthing around is gonna take away alot of your time).

The other 2 perks are up to you, but I personally use Shadowborn and BBQ

I mean, she ends chases fast regardless of the map.

You could argue she's not #5 in Lery's or the Game but she is anywhere else

duh, Coldwind maps are pretty much a game over for her against good survivors, you can't throw over the hatchet in most of the places, and get looped like a 110% killer without a power on most of the loops. Specially the bullshit main building loop with a generator, where it's basically a safehouse for survivors whenever they get there against a Huntress.

  • @gantes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/623020#Comment_623020

I see no way for him to be better than Huntress, especially after the buffs to her lullaby.

She still has a pseudo instadown and in open maps she's still better than any M1 killer could dream of being.

I feel like the top 5 is as clear as it can be in this game, but Freddy is definitely the best M1 killer atm

Huntress got really [BAD WORD] by poor map design choices, and because of that +her being a 110% killer, she moved down in tier and really depends on what kind of map she gets and it's RNG.

  • Hm, that's a good question, though good survivors will always force an M1 from billy and will not get a chainsaw up their butt, whilst Freddy doesn't have an insta down in the first place, but he has other abilities that make up for this.

But at the same time if survivors do make a mistake of running out in the open, Billy can punish that tremendously and snowball the entire team.

If you consider that all survivors are gonna be great and won't let Billy instadown them, I think Freddy is better because he has more advanced tricks, like cutting off a survivor mid chase, as well as being the fastest killer who can get from one side of the map to another in only 5 seconds.

My speculation is that whatever does get implemented that allows killers to use the status effect Undetected, will automatically give survivors the Oblivious status effect for the sake of balance, so that survivors have a chance at the very least to be more attentive with their situational awareness when they see the status effect notification pop up.

That would be very unnecessary, that's the same as telling survivors the killer has NOED the moment the last gen is popped.

Whats the point of being oblivious, if you're actually not, and get a notification to raise your awareness.

Do you really think Dark Devotion and Tinkerer are OP and should give survivors a notification the moment they activate for the sake of balance? These perks are very situational as they are right now and in no way do they need any nerfs.

  • From what I can gather

Undetectable - is something Evil Within Tier 1 Myers already has (Cannot be detected by most of the detection perks like Object of Obsession, Spine Chill, Alert. With the exception of Kindered and Premonition, which trump any killer's stealth abilities, which is also in a way a buff to those 2 underrated detection perks, as well as a nerf to meta OoO and Spine Chill). Ghostface, Pig and Wraith will most likely also get this status effect whenever they're using their stealth power.

Oblivious - is somethings that's already being used in perks like Dark Devotion and Tinkerer, hopefully survivors won't get a notification right away, and it'll only pop up after they've been hit by the killer like when NOED activates.

People can't read to save their lives.

Also like this idea. DS could use some other changes to work only against tunnelling. I like the one that extends the timer but turns off as soon as someone else's hooked.

    I agree with that.

If it is then damn.....makes me wonder what other sound tracks will come with it and who the killer will be

You can actually look up the previous sounds that were leaked, which are most likely tied with the next killer, and its strongly theorized that the next killer is licensed, if you want to know more, look it up for yourself.

  • It could be a leak/teaser for the next chapter, definitely doesn't fit DbD as it is right now.

"Using Decisive Strike will no longer spawn an obsession at the start of the match, a survivor has to use this perk in order to become the obsession."

Basically the killer can just slug whoever gets unhooked and wait 60 seconds, thus no one gets to even use DS and obsession dosen't spawn.

An Obsession Killer Perk is going to spawn an Obsession like usual like ANY OTHER KILLER OBSESSION PERK, just how many times do I have to mention this over and over again?

  • @ArecBalrin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/614758#Comment_614758

No, you're saying something is meant to help 'against tunnelling' which in the context you've framed would require killers have a malus imposed on them. You're asked to clarify the framing, which you botch multiple times and it also doesn't square-up with the killer 'seeing no Obsession at the start of the match' meaning they can 'tunnel all they like and benefit from it'.

You don't get to call your Gordian-knot an 'apple'.

I framed all of this in a contex that this ONLY affects DS, without any other Obsession perks in mind would it be other Survivor perks or Killer's.

Here I mention in my last sentence that this affects ONLY DS.

Except by your suggestion if a killer does in fact run Obsession Perks then:

    a) they’re going to IMMEDIATELY know DS is at play on at least 1 player due to no Obsession icon showing when it should.

    b) completely screws over any killer trying to get the intended benefit from Remember Me, Dying Light, PWYF, Dark Devotion.

Just accept that DS, like any other survivor Obsession perk, because of their immense upside means you also potentially make yourself a target. You can’t expect to equip perks with a powerful benefit without a downside.

You did read the post you mentioned, and seen the guy explain it as clearly as possible, even if you didn't get what I mean here?

    @NMCKE said:

Y'all, he's saying that you can tell if there is a DS in your game if you see an Obsession, usually. He wants to make it where you can't differentiate between the two so the killers will have act like every survivor is using DS.

If the Killer is not running any obsession perks, and Survivors are using or NOT using DS, the Obsession icon is not going to show up.

If the Killer is RUNNING an obsession perk, then the Obsession will show up no matter if survivors are using DS or not like it does right now.

  • @ArecBalrin said:

You titled the thread "An update to Decisive Strike that would help against tunnelling even if no survivor brought it". This makes nonsense of the subsequent non-explanations, including NMCKE's. This along with your opening-post is the only honest thing you have said.

It's what prompted Judgement to ask for clarification, to which you gave a fudged answer to evade clarififying it because you did mean to override the killer's Obsession perks as long as survivors were only running DS, to help them 'against tunnelling'.

If you really meant what you said when you quoted yourself as saying something you never actually did say..

"This would help against tunneling, because if the killer sees at the start of the match that no one is the obsession, AND THEY'RE NOT RUNNING ANY OBSESSION PERKS, then they can tunnel survivors all they like and benefit from it."

...this is the opposite of helping survivors 'against tunnelling'. It's a complete reversal.

I'm seeing an Apple on the table and say it's an Apple.

Another person comes by and asks if that's an Apple, I answer that it is indeed an apple.

Another person comes by and asks if that's a Watermelon, I answer that it's not, and perhaps the person should pay closer attention.

The same person says again that it's a Watermelon, I answer that it's not Watermelon, and the guy next to us already explained to you that it's in fact an Apple.

The same person calls both of us liars, and says that it being an Apple makes no sense, and it's most certainly is a Watermelon.

  • People just gotta make a shitshow out of idea that killer has to assume every survivor has DS, like survivors have to assume that every killer has NOED, because not tunneling a person who just got off the hook is too hard, and killers need info when they're free to tunnel anyone whilst not being afraid of eating a DS

How is it too late? Too late for what? Do you understand the other guy's explanation? If not, then I don't even know how to explain my Idea to you, so I won't even bother.

The problem is I did read and you were asked to clarify something, which you didn't. You were asked a question particularly pertaining to killers using obsession perks and you answered as if killers didn't matter.

The fact you've been dodged twice now indicates to me that this is the actual purpose of your suggestion. Survivor gonna survivor, as usual.

So always 60s of immunity for when you get unhooked regardless of the circumstances? I don't think the power role needs that.

They're not immune for 60 seconds, you can instantly pick them up, but there's going to be a chance they have DS, you either just risk it or not and play it safe, and if you're playing strong killers like Nurse or Spirit, getting D striked shouldn't even be a problem for you cause you can down them right afterwards if you're good enough.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

So where is the #CoUnTeRpLaY for Killers to use against DS? Or is that just a Survivor privilege?

...do not tunnel the person who just got off the hook?

Even if you do tunnel that person and really want him dead, but you strongly suspect he has DS, you can always down them and wait 60 seconds before picking them up, so there's your counterplay.

  • @ArecBalrin said:

So people will equip it just to deny the killer perks until DS is triggered, which the survivor can simply opt not to do when picked up.

This is why survivor-memes are real.

    *Facepalm*

Do you guys even read what I wrote before commenting?

"This would help against tunneling, because if the killer sees at the start of the match that no one is the obsession, AND THEY'RE NOT RUNNING ANY OBSESSION PERKS, then they can tunnel survivors all they like and benefit from it."

  • @Judgement said:

Does this suggest turning off ALL Obsession perks until a DS is used?

Or does it only mean that if DS is the only obsession perk in the game, none will spawn?

It should be the latter so as to not completely disable Killer Obsession perks.

"Using Decisive Strike will no longer spawn an obsession at the start of the match, a survivor has to use this perk in order to become the obsession."

Specifically saying that no obsession is going to spawn when someone is using only DS, it's also written in the title that this is a DS update.

  • This could be easily abused by pee-ka-boo'ing survivors you're currently chasing, and preventing them from revealing you at all.

All they really need to do is fix the way Detection perks work against him (Object of Obsession, Spine Chill, etc). Fix his crouching camera placement, so you wouldnt be sniffing the ground, and make revealing more consistent so Ghostface wouldnt be revealed behind cover, or him not being revealed even though survivor is right in front of him (Literally happened to me yesteday when Ghostface was camping the guy on the hook, I saw him sitting in a corner, sneaked behind him and crouched literally right next to him, but apparently I couldnt reveal him because My Survivor's model was in the way of the camera, so when he turned around and found me, he almost exposed me, I had to run away at a distance so my model wasn't in the way)

Another idea would be making it so survivor's actual character model and camera has to be facing Ghostface in order to reveal him, but I think dev's wouldn't be able to do it in mess that DbD coding is.

Here are my other ideas https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/78161/ghostface-and-pig-buff-idea#latest

  • I think the best way to buff her would be to make it so whenever survivors puke, they immediately stop whatever action they were doing (fixing gen, cleansing totem, healing, etc), this would slow down the game just a little bit, and give away survivors who puked the same moment a skillcheck came up.

  • Oof, I mean, I'd understand if he was playing Nurse or Spirit and 4 of you escaped, but imagine playing a below mediocre killer, who has his power in the hands of survivors, against a coordinated team with meta perks, who probably also taunted him mid game and tbagged at the exit gates.

  • This is just way too rediculous, obviously fake.

  • @Mandy said:

The Q&A today had a specific topic, namely related to the 3.1.0 PTB/Update - it was clear on the post that only questions related to this would be answered.

    yesnt.jpg

Then what about all these questions that have been answered???

  • Personally after 1k+ hours I've never had any problems with windows grabs, if anything, it saves time picking them up and gives you bonus 300 Brutality points, if I don't want to grab the injured guy, I'll just lunge instead. The injured survivor literally has to be inside of you and start medium vaulting in front of you, but even then you can just look a little bit to the side, start lunging, and instantly turn the mouse and hit the guy who's vaulting.

Like I said, I've absolutely never had any problems with vault grabs, if anything, they're only useful.

  • This seems like an overkill which can be easily abused.

My solution would be something like increasing the hook time 2x, and increasing the required time to complete gens 1.5x. Also give the survivor who's being camped BP for distraction, since just increasing the hook time is also going to increase the timeout the camped survivor is going to be put in.

  • @TheLastSpectre said:

The problem is that would also allow Freddy to spam fake teleports on gens, making it much harder for survivors to pinpoint where he's actually going to end up and spooking them off the gen.

Read my whole statement, or read it again, I specifically said to scale the cooldown based on how much the bar was filled.

During the first half of second, the first pump of blood goes out of the generator, and a pool of blood appears in the place where Freddy is going to teleport, if Freddy were to start teleporting to generator, and immediately cancel it, either the first pump of blood won't happen at all, or if the survivor is paying close attention, he's going to notice that transmission immediately stopped.

If Freddy is going to start teleporting to a gen, almost fill the bar, and then cancel, the power is going to go on a default cooldown like is does right now (Blood keeps pumping, Freddy's husk appears, fully stands up, the blood skin changes to his character model, and if Freddy cancels it right at that moment, the Freddy husk falls through the floor, by that time a survivor could've been scared enough for him to run away and perhaps lose line of sight with a generator to notice Freddy isn't actually there)

  • You're kinda late to the party, the PTB is long over and the live Freddy update is going to be released in about an hour, so now we just wait and see what the devs came up with, and judge the addons from that.

  • That seems quite interesting, I'd say make the styptic agent auto heal yourself at a normal rate, and make syringe heal you twice as fast.

The trade off would be that when you use your Styptic Agent and Syringe addons, it no longer depletes your whole medkit, but only uses the addon equipped, like the new Brand New Part.

  • That would be way too low (60 points per minute)

I think it should be 8-9 (480-540 points per minute)

  • tbh, the best solution to her crouching ability would be increasing the LOS to her actual face, and not the legs, so you could actually see anything when crouching through the grass.

1 2 3
