why tho what is fun about escaping if you just have no actual fun in the match and hold m1 on gens?
What's so fun about doing everything you can to help other survivors only for them to almost literally throw you to the killer and give you crap for "not doing gens and helping the team" in the post-game chat? I wasn't farming them at the hook or healing them in front of the approaching killer, I used Guardian and BT to make sure they don't get caught after getting unhooked, I distracted the killer and took protection hits - and that was the treatment I got in the end. So, yes, I have way more fun doing my objectives and escaping than risking my win for a bunch of people who will always think that my teamwork is not good enough.
-
Because being selfish was the best decision I ever made in this game.
-
It's griefing. You can't just take your win and leave, you simply have to rub it in, like a miserable dopamine-depraved monkey you are.
-
Personally, I'm not scared, I just gave up on being altruistic.
-
"Annoyed about NOED? Just take Dead Hard then, you noob :D"
*survivors equip Dead Hard and Unbreakable*
"Noooo you're just hiding your lack of skills, you're only using this perk because you don't want to git gud D:"
-
That's the best mindset for joining the game IMO.
-
Either DC too or wait for the EGC. Continuing the game isn't worth it at this point.
-
I don't give a damn whether other people escape or not. Not anymore. There were so many games where I was extremely altruistic, dropping everything whenever I saw a wounded survivor, healing them and distracting them from the killer. I also risked a lot in order to take them off the hook in the very last second because nobody else was coming while the killer got busy. Then I got scolded in the post-game chat for not doing the gens and not helping the team.
After that? I'm done with teamwork. I'm out for myself and the rest can hang.

Oke legion would probably get shot sooner or later that's true and the same goes for trickster and Michael and trapper and ghosty and every non supernatural being so that point is invalid and I didn't know the mortality of a killer takes part in his scare Faktor. And I find it quite funny how often people talk smack about trickster cause he is a kpop star as if that makes it impossible to kill not every one is a brute and needs to hack and slay but sure let's talk ######### on the guy that is not stereotypical an manly man cause he can't stand a good ol beating from a manly man man
Yes, their mortality does add a lot to the scare factor. This is why scary movie characters are either given supernatural abilities that make it impossible or futile to get the police involved (Myers) or shown as extremely cunning and smart or operate in areas where the police is unavailable and protagonists have to count on themselves (Trapper).
Of course, people will talk smack about his design. It's a game about running away from a scary killer, something that should look like you're supposed to run from it. He doesn't have to be a hulking brute. The Hag is a small and thin creature, but she is absolutely terrifying, so nobody wants to get chased by her and nobody even thinks of trying to fight her. Trickster, though? I guess, his stupid pervy giggling is supposed to creep people out, but all I feel when chased by him is an extreme annoyance because it feels like this MF giggles because he knows that players are compelled to run away from him through the power of plot and gameplay, even though he looks like some an OnlyFans model doing the villain challenge.

The problem with legion and trickster don't being that scary is in there very Natur cause they are your every day gay that just snapped. I think trickstery whole theme of being a musician and a psychopath is nice and they deliver it quite good and I think legions problem is that they are designed as a pack of killers hunting together but thats not possible in dbd atm. I think twisted looking human killers like trapper are nice but I also like simply normal humans cause they are scare aswell Michael and ghosty are normal humans two and they also wear ridiculous outfits but they are classic killers so we learned to fear them I would say when you leave Ghostface reputation out of it he looks even more silly the frank.
In the Legion's case, it's not even that "they just snapped". They are a gang of teen criminals, who got all giddy about the idea of doing whatever they want without getting punished - and they would have gotten shot by the police if the Entity didn't take them in. They're just evil little shits, who would've gotten what they deserved after coming across someone stronger than an elderly janitor.
Trickster didn't snap as well. He was born a sociopath and he too went only after victims weaker than him. He doesn't have an intimidating presence and height, like Myers and his showman-y look doesn't really help to build an intimidating image. It feels like the only reason he managed to score kills was that he paralyzed his victims prior to killing them, otherwise he would've gotten his pretty face ruined extremely fast. So, running away from him doesn't feel as terrifying as running away from the Oni, Myers, the Hillbilly, the Clown or the Hag - it feels annoying. Why be afraid of the giggling K-Pop singer who never tasted a proper punch and would probably throw a screeching fit after getting hit?
And to be honest, I feel the same way about Ghostface. Never liked his type in the movies.

If you don't find Legion and Trickster scary, do you find Plague, Ghostface, Deathslinger, Pig, Freddy scary? Becuz all of them are on the same boat: normal humans but crazies.
The Trickster is a nice interpretation of a psychotic killer with a normal appearance. He doesn't even need a mask because his literal face/existence is one. Just because he/she doesn't have a scary mask doesn't mean they don't reflect true horror. Same goes for Legion.
Heck, Pyramid Head isn't scary to me (looks funny actually), but do you see me complaining about him being added and fitting in DBD?
The Plague isn't just a normal human. Aside from her being extremely tall, she is rotting alive, half-consumed by the disease, oozes dangerous amounts of vomit, and stays alive only because of the Entity. This is disturbing already. The Deathslinger may not be as creepy or scary as the Doctor, but he sure isn't handsome - he looks like a sinister undead from the Wild West.
Freddy is also not a typical crazy human - he is a crazy spirit, a literal dream demon. His human self got destroyed by a mob of angry parents, so now he is more of an incorporeal presence that haunts people and makes it dangerous to fall asleep or even think about Freddy.
I already said what I think about GF, but the Pig is...well, I just hate facing her in trials because I have no love for the entire SAW franchise and Jiggsaw's pretentious games. Therefore, I don't find her scary at all.

The first time I've met Oni... Man, I remember how scared I was. Hearing him from away, "RAAAWR", then seeing him coming to me with his big weapon and the whole red smoke around him...
I agree Trickster isn't as scary as some other Killers tho. But what do you think of Legion? I don't find them scary, except when they wear the Silent Hill bunny costume (but because it reminds me the park from Silent Hill 3).
Maybe Trickster could have been more scary like... Like Huntress can be with her outfits full of raw meat...
Legion has a rather ridiculous design as well. A mouth-breathing edgy teen with spindly arms and a mask? He would have gotten his face caved in by David King or Jake Park or Meg in an instant. It feels almost insulting to just run away from Frank or anyone from his gang, instead of turning around and slapping them.

Twins? Blight? Kinda just seems like you are arbitrarily singling out Trickster.
How often do you see Twins and Blight in your games compared to Trickster? He wasn't designed to be scary, he was literally made to appeal to the fans of anime villains.

idk, spirit and doc are pretty up there in the visually creepy factor
I admit it, I didn't express myself correctly. The Artist finally looks creepy and scary compared to the previous non-licensed killer that is the Trickster. Before licensed killers were introduced, BHVR had plenty of creepy and scary killers, such as the Spirit, the Doctor, the Hag, etc. I wish they dedicated more time to developing original designs instead of looking for new licenses to implement.
-
I said it once and I'm saying it now: too many licensed killers are bad for the game and take cool designs and easter eggs away from the original concepts. The Artist is the first original Killer that is actually creepy and looks intimidating, compared to the anime disaster we previously had as a non-licensed killer.
-
Yes. So when the killer tries to act all nice to me in post endgame chat, I make my darn best to remind them that I'm not their buddy.
-
My great disdain for humanity.
-
Absolutely yes. My survival comes first and anyone who says "it's not about winning or losing" is usually the one who mocks the players in the post-game lobby for losing.
-
IMO, wiggling should be removed. It only works if the Killer is in the mood to farm points and just circles the hook until the survivor wiggles out.

Isn't the producer lady from the All-Kill chapter a terrible person who was, like, letting Trickster murder people?
She is a terrible, selfish, and career-obsessed woman (and probably the worst person you can end up in the Fog with), but she didn't let Trickster kill people intentionally. She found a lot of clues pointing that her protege is the crazy psycho killer, but she was shocked by the thought of the guy turning out to be a serial killer and her losing everything she worked for, so she convinced herself that she was overthinking and it all was in her head. When Trickster goes into full anime villain mode, she fully realizes that he is the murderer and is angry at herself for not trusting her instincts.

This game would've been dead a long time ago without licensed characters, I guarantee you that.
Well, right now the game relies on licensed characters so much it goes creatively bankrupt when coming up with an original Killer idea, which is not a good thing, especially when we saw that a license can be taken away.
-
Licensed Killers were a mistake. BHVR should have used their creativity and created original Killers with a nod to well-known horror franchises. We have a spindly-limbed giggling edgy anime boytoy as the last original Killer and it's just sad.
-
For the same reason Killers get pissed I don't serve myself on a silver platter during the EGC and just waste their time hiding, searching chests and cleaning totems while they run from one gate to another.

Because unlike most players, I play for fun, and I like to know my survivors are having fun to. What Cheryl did wasn't fun at all.
Well, Cheryl didn't know and had no way of knowing that you played for fun. For me, being altruistic often ended up with me getting downed, hooked, and griefed by the Killer, while the rest enjoyed their escape, so now I just stick to other objectives and don't take risks.
-
Why does it really concern you as a Killer?
Also, killers here often say how much they hate survivors with keys to the point of making them their number one target. I guess, survivors who bring keys know it too.
-
Ranked games are a mistake and should have never been brought into existence. All they do is make basement-dwelling nobodies believe that they're the rulers of the universe who can look down on others just because "muh rank".

No no no showing and expressing emotions that are concidert negative is wrong cause they need to be kept in a bottle and never be released untill they obviously fade on their own.
Anyone that does show these kind of emotions need to be punished and rediculed as they make other people uncomfortable.
These emotions are not the prefered way of life and therefor need to be ignored and discarted
"OMG, it's just a game, why are you so angry?" they ask after treating players who don't sweat for a rank like subhuman trash and acting superior because "muh wins, I'm so bettah than you, lol ez pez"
Applies to all multiplayer games everywhere.
-
Because a lot of male survivors are buffer than Trickster and have a military/fighter background but somehow they can't give him an ass-whooping when he comes at them. It's maddening.

- Keys are available in bloodweb
- Killer now can close the hatch and start EGC that a remanining survivor has no chances of escaping
- Survivor brings a key to ensure there is a chance to escape even if everybody else dies and the Killer finds the hatch first
- "You deserve being BMed! Screw you for trying to use a game element as intended!"
Lmao.
Well, good luck escaping when gates spawn in a walking distance from each other or there is a fast-moving/teleporting Killer.
I get why Killers would target a survivor with a key and try to kill them first: if they find a spawned hatch before all gens are done, the entire squad can escape. I get it that you may not get to use the key, the same thing can be said for almost any item you bring to the trial. What I don't get is being extremely toxic to a survivor with a key, like they're a hacker or a rule-breaker. There is a difference between "get ready to be targeted because the killer won't take any chances" and "get ready to be spat on for taking an in-game item"

It doesn't matter who wins as long as Legion and Trickster get stomped.
-
Because they're BMing pieces of trash

Ash Williams would've given both the Entity and its Killers a good ass-whooping if the game didn't treat them as one of the weak humans.

You still aren't allowed to DC.
I know. So I don't. I usually avoid Killers just in case they turn out to be BMers, even when the game is obviously lost and I can never make it to the gate. Yet, I can understand people who don't want to stay in the game with a-holes and go into "Screw this" mode and are ready to accept consequences for doing so.

I would say DCing demonstrates that a person was so affected by the BM that they sacrificed all their bloodpoints, pip, and took a penalty because of it.
If you're BMing, isn't that what you want? A reaction?
Well, in once scenario BMers get the satifsaction of mocking the player and knowing they have to watch. In other case, the player takes control and leaves, not wishing to deal with them any longer. and denying them their entertainment The bloodpoints lost can be regained tenfold in other matches.
If there was an option to show the player that their BMing target is AFK and won't be watching them do their victory monkey dance, it would be a great improvement, I'm all for that.

I can certainly understand being annoyed by this type of silly immature behavior. But, by DCing, aren't you giving them exactly what they want?
As well, forfeiting any points earned. Seems a big price to pay to make a point to someone you will never meet and is probably 12 years old.
Doesn't staying and enduring give them what they want? There is little difference, except leaving sooner means putting their little self-pleasuring session to an end much sooner than they expected and making them sweat for the next match hoping they can show off again.
It doesn't matter whether I see them again or not: bully players use "they'll never meet me again" as an excuse to BM others. It doesn't always work llike that. Also, given how most of adult DbD streamers act during their plays (including Fog Whisperers), I think 12-year olds would actually be more mature and civil.

You are obliged to stay in the game tho and not DC
I take responsibility for my actions. DC penalty is a good and necessary measure and I'll never complain about it. Nevertheless, I refuse to take part in someone's mock fest when I'm the last survivor left and the Killer already won the match but feels the urge to BM the heck out of losing side. I stick to other, healthier measures that imply avoiding a player if they displayed any signs of scummy behavior, but I can understand players who just had enough of winners' BS.

It's cutting off your nose to spite your face though, but I see your username so...
I care little about rank or bloodpoints and yes, I have nothing but spite for BMing players (on both sides). And if I'm the last survivor, who gets downed and the killer decides to do some power play just to rub it in, I'm out. Hook me and be done with it or be a jerk and grab an empty space.

Why fuming? Accept sacrifice once picked up as the last survivor. Anything beyond & you've been gifted.
I like this play because it makes those genuine hatch gifts a little more exciting
I've spectatced a match where this tactic backfired on a killer because they didn't know the survivor had a key & adrenaline
Except in the case mentioned above, the killer wasn't just hooking the survivor. He mocked them to boost his ego. He got what he deserved.
-
If the killer BMs, the player is not obliged to deal with his BS.

% 60 good for survivors? LOL
I have to fight against killer and now they will add traitor survivor who wanna leave but have to stay because of new system. This survivor will not be useful, maybe will crounch around. Yes really good for survivors.
That will work only for killerside. They can get more points now. Noone will suicide, so killer will not lose anything. % 100 killerside update.
Players still can suicide. Force the second hook state, don't try with skill checks - and they're free to go.
-
My first truly memorable match was when I had a long stand off with a Wraith as Claudette. It was the Maximillian Ironworks map, I hid myself in the building on the second floor, saw the hatch from the window and made a leap of faith...it was a second later when I noticed the cloaked Wraith standing next to it. From the Wraith's point of view, Claudette just fell from the sky and yeeted herself into the hatch.
-
Developers finally acknowledged that he is a teen with noodle arms.
-
NOED isn't that bad as long as survivors don't get stupidly altrusitic. The moment the Killer downs a survivor, he'll camp their ass into oblivion hoping that their team will come running. Rushing to the gate and leaving is the best option.
-
I used anatomically correct medical terms to tell people where and how far can they shove their "gg wp" after BMing the entire game.
-
Given that there are some killers that use slugged survivors as bait, I'd love the option to suicide and prevent others from falling into a trap.
-
I prefer to remember their nicknames and provide them no assistance if they happen to play a survivor as well and we end up in the same lobby. It's so funny to see them whine afterwards.
-
A Tik-Tok killer
-
Speaking from the bottom of my spiteful heart: esports are useless, so are "professional esports gamers" and so will be the competitive Dead by Daylight. I really hope BHVR would stop trying milking this cow and being complacent in generating more potato-shaped people with a carpal tunnel syndrome who call themselves "athletes"
-
I just wish my teammates stop running to the giggling pervert whenever he downs someone, only to get downed next.
-
I'd also remove the option to wiggle when carried. It doesn't do #########.
-
I don't use DS, but I lol'd at the "playing stealthy" part. How many killer mains have been giving stealthy survivors crap for playing stealthy? How many of them spoke how unfair and unfun it is? How many of them described how much pleasure they had slugging and mori'ing survivors who used stealth? IIRC, someone phrased it "stop hiding and start dying".
But no, only survivors are entitled.
