I'm always able to make a very sharp turn with him as soon as his dash starts. Within a second, he's locked into that direction, even with both boots.

To be fair, all survivors got in this patch was.. a(nother) CoH nerf. Because BHVR is survivor-sided (/s).
And it's still a strong TEAM perk that STILL stacks with perks and medkits. People still healing fast. Oh no, the audacity.
Every patch is some kind of balancing or nerf to killers and usually minor adjustments and much needed nerfs to survivors unless its been killer rework patches. Don't worry. I'm sure the Chapter 24 patch will hold your hand as we go back to status quo.
-
Using it only to heal yourself definitely misses the point of the perk. It's a team perk, designed to have the team save a ridiculous amount of time by helping heal each other in a Boon area if the opportunity arises. Doesn't mean you can't self heal if there's no one else around. But if someone is sticking a gen over helping another heal while they're both inside the Boon is ridiculous. Heal the person, then both hop on gen. Enormous amount of time they just saved.
-
Same on PS4. I was on Shelter Woods with Huntress too. Gen popped, I wind up, turn toward it. Hey... something ain't right here lol
-
I was hoping the ability to crouch and point at the same time was back. Severely let down.
-
Cracks me up when people say it's hard to get as many points as a killer. If you're not hitting 20+k every game, then you're just not playing the game. You have to repair, heal, cleanse, save. If you do just 2 of each, you'll get your points and pip. And it'll take less time than 4 gens solo.
-
You know I do in those situations? Ensure a down and injure at least one other. If you can't do rest, then yeah, it is a YOU problem. If that's a common thing you run into at EGC, run NOED. Guarantee they didn't do totems at all. And don't give me the 'bad killers run NOED' excuse. Bad killers don't take advantage of bad survivors. Survivors know how to avoid NOED. Good survivors cleanse. Bad ones rush through gens and bank on 'honor' from a killer, then complain when a killer took advantage of their stupidity. Sorry if that offends any of you. But you're really mad at yourselves in that situation.

legit one of the emblems is to prevent gens from being done so your right... oh wait no reward bad play cause you have an end game build cause you can't get it done during normal game. Adrenaline only comes into play when survivors are done their objective again these two perks are not the same. One is for trash and the other is for completing the objective. Gatekeeper emblem if you are interested in reading about how part of your job is to prevent gens from being done.
LOL
I run end game builds sometimes because they can be fun. And sometimes those survivors don't even get to see that endgame build, which is the most weirdly satisfying yet disappointing feeling ever. It means the survivors all got killed by a killer with no active perks and a couple of addons.
This thread also really highlights the really big disconnect a lot of you have with some of these perks and their application. Everyone always assumes NOED = bad killer, bad play, which isn't always the case. But yeah, let's just keep thinking it means only one thing instead of acknowledging other factors that also result in certain perks being equipped. Like if I notice that games are going by really fast despite my best efforts, that's when I might run an endgame build and that will change my mood because I'm responding to reams rushing through matches. Or I enter a lobby and you can just smell the sweat and Boons about to happen, which means totems stay up. And what is the bad play in that situation btw? The people putting the same Boon up on the same totem over and and over or me knowing the best thing to do after a killer snuffs a totem is cleanse that totem and move the Boon somewhere else? Because it really doesn't feel like such a bad play at all when I'm basically reading a team at the lobby and take advantage of that very common mistake. But you probably don't see it that way.

The game isn't pay to win, the only perks that are any good are on original killers that you can unlock with shards.

BBQ & Chili, STBFL, Deadlock, Plaything, Lethal Pursuer are definitely good perks. Others might be more niche but still ok.
That are available to everybody, even eventually being made free on the Shrine. Having to pay for DLC isn't pay to win. Do you honestly think the devs should be supporting this game for free? Like every chapter update should cost nothing? Imagine the price of cosmetics in that situation. No thanks.
Those are all decent to good perks. Are any of them absolutely necessary? Not really. There's plenty of info perks that show auras like BBQ, they just don't have the bloodpoint bonus. It isn't necessary.
-
Just wait for the inevitable repair speed Boon. You know it's going to happen. We have a healing Boon, an aura Boon, a sprint Boon, and an anti slugging Boon. Repair speed Boon is most definitely coming and it'll probably be 6 months before that gets adjusted as well.
The only stacking Boons should do is team actions. So no stacking with perks or items. But they still don't seem to think that's the way to go, so I don't know.
-
I use Call of Brine a lot and the amount of times somebody finishes a gen that was nearly dead and within the minute that CoB is active on that gen and I get NO notifications is really surprising. Perfect great skill checks for basically 90-95% of a gen in under 60 seconds. I have a hard time believing that. 2 people doing 4 gens with no toolboxes and I'm assuming no Prove Thyself is also complete BS. It'd take a little over 3 minutes if they both worked together and you said just under 2 minutes? That's not even subtle. That's blatant as hell.

This, it annoys me how the killer is allowed to see survivor addons before the match even begins, takes the fun out of it.
Survivor addons? No. Just the item. And it's 4v1. The fact you believe that the 1 shouldn't be able to try and prep for what the 4 are bringing in is just ridiculous. Stop playing only half the game and actually rise in ranks on killer. You won't be saying stuff like that.
-
I don't know if it's because I'm way out of practice with him or his mechanics were changed yet again, but I absolutely blow with Trickster now.
But to stay on topic, Oni was definitely the first killer to 'click' with me after a very rough start. Once I figured out how to maneuver and navigate with him during his Demon Dash, it didn't matter what map I was on unless it was Haddonfield.

people are tired of versing nurse and blight all the time all day everyday. thats all you see, i cant blame them i cant blame them for not wanting to suffer a misery experience, on top of that pain resonance, dead man switch, corrupt and startruck or make your choice to proxy camp hook... tbh i cant blame them.
Cracks me up when people complain about killer meta builds, yet most games, survivors are running any combo of DH, DS, IW, BT, UB, CoH, SC, PT, and the occasional BO accompanied by predictable running into far corner or upstairs to prevent getting hooked.
Both roles can say they're tired of the same crap, yet both keep perpetuating it. So either stop wasting people's time and play it out or just uninstall. I played a Doctor match earlier today that was over in 3 minutes and 52 seconds because the first person I downed DCed immediately. It doesn't matter what the killer is. People who do that will find any reason to justify their rage quit and it's not fair to their team. I just don't have the patience to farm anymore, so I just end those games ASAP.

@CakeDuty said:
I think it depends on what kind of Nurse it is.
I personally find an average Nurse fun to go against, but a good Nurse with good add ons slowdown perks and I give up immediately, they clearly just want an easy 4k, so I'll just give it to her and get to the next game, cause survivors aren't going to stand a chance or have any fun. She is the one killer that breaks everything DbD is. Pallets? Useless. Windows? Useless. Walls? She ignores those as well. There's nothing you can do against a good Nurse.
So I assume that's why most people just wanna die and go to the next game.
Huntress also makes people pay at pallets. Trickster can also to a certain extent.
But to say 'they clearly want an easy 4k' if they bring in certain addons or perks, that's just laughable. Nothing is easy about her. A few screw ups or bad reads can make or break a game depending on the team. And be honest, what perks and items are you usually bringing in when you go up against a Nurse and end up just giving up? I don't use slowdown perks on her, but I understand if some do.
I just think people give up way too easily and don't want to do anything different. They want to run every single killer the exact same way and that's just not how it's done. You'd think at this point, people would stop camping pallets against Nurse and Huntress, but nope, just keep on camping those pallets. And then they rage quit when they get downed. Because it's the killer's fault they offered themselves up on a silver platter.
Stuff like that is a joke. I get being overwhelmed by a really good killer, but that can happen with any killer in the right hands.
-
Honestly, something that represents both grade and MMR should be in its place. People already know what raises and lowers MMR. People also know there are players that intentionally lower their MMR. I think hiding the MMR rating at this point is just a bit stubborn. It'd be nice to know exactly where games start becoming more challenging or when script kids start popping up more frequently.
And I still say the anti cheat system should be able to detect abnormal actions and speeds based on its own calculations of top/lowest speeds of actions and movements with the perks, addons, and items brought in. But that's a whole different topic.
-
All it took was 2 sentences before I was like 'wait... who posted this?'.

"Started", so someone was in the process of opening them? Because sometimes, I run to the Exit Gates to start opening them a few seconds before the last generator popped to earn time (if I know the last generator is about to pop). (Or to proc NWO as soon as possible.)
But as GuyFawx has said, if the Exit Gates were fully opened three seconds after the last generator popped (meaning the EGC started three seconds after the last generator popped), it's kind of sus. Even with Wake Up and Resilience (if the Surv is injured), it takes more than three seconds.
Even if they had Wake Up, Resilience, Spine Chill, AND a teammate giving them a Leader boost for a grand total of opening gates 69% faster, it's still more than 3 seconds.

The info from a Good Skill Check is also pretty useful!
It is when I don't have these masterful survivors that hit a great skill check every single time.
Actually, it's a great perk for detecting subtle cheaters. I had quite a few games last night where gens I had kicked suddenly get finished and I didn't get one notification.
-
Since I stream whenever I play, Nightbot starts a timer every single match. That alone is a huge help in determining if someone is cheating or time has slipped away from you. I had a gen pop in 30 seconds at the beginning of one match, yet Bitter Murmur showed only one survivor and I was near two others. The fourth was actually not far from where I was, but still nowhere near the gen that had popped.
Cheaters also LOVE Self Care. That doesn't mean be suspicious of everybody that uses it. Just keep note of any suspected cheater's place on the map, if they're with somebody, if a Boon is in play, etc. They always expose themselves with their Self Care speed if you pay attention to them.

I hope they say they nerf noed and remove the increase speed also
Or you could just cleanse bones and stop complaining about an easily avoidable perk. If you get hit by it, it's you and your teams fault for just slamming through gens. Play the whole game, not part of it.

I had 2 Camping Bubbas in a row now. Behold bubba is getting meta now. Literally need to take a break, the killers before were hard tunneling. Thanks bhvr for encouraging this
Honestly, the toxic circle of behavior both sides feed into each other, the epidemic of actual cheaters, and just overall gen rushing has created this. The community is to blame for how they play, not the devs. It's 1v4. Keep all of this in mind when you're complaining.
The suggestions I've seen for countering camping and tunneling from the community (i.e. survivor mains who never really play killer) always downright cripple the killer in moat situations and there's such a broad opinion of what constitutes as camping and tunneling that if all the complainers got their way, killers would be lucky to even get within 5 feet of them.

I don't play Nemesis like that. I run Call of Brine, Eruption, Pop, and Pain Resonance on him with Ink Ribbon and Mikhail's Eye addons.
I don't just welcome the salt. I live for it.
-
Wow, I just checked and yup, no trophies I earned are there and it says 0.0% on every trophy.
And the game is crashing constantly for me on my PS4 Pro. I've gotten 3 or 4 penalties now, which is BS because I never DC on purpose like that. The penalty is unfortunately going to have to be removed. I hope they can hotfix the game issues tomorrow, but more likely, we're going to have to wait a week for a patch.
Coding is getting denser and denser, guys. It's not going to get any better when adding new content. Unless it's thoroughly tested before going live so the game is at least playable, some serious discussions are going to have to be made. And it's not just consoles crashing. It's PC as well.
-
The Eye addon nerf to Nemesis is pretty bogus.
-
Lmao have you actually played as Huntress?
-
Don't forget Resilience stacking as well. So Wake Up's 25% + Resilience's 9% = 34% opening speed. Add on Spine Chill's 10%, you got 44% opening speed.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Say you have a teammate with Leader with you, that brings the possible total to +69% opening speed. In a game plagued with speed hacks on every possible action, the things getting added or buffed are making it harder to discern between legit play and actual cheating.

sounds like it lmao
If you play Nemesis, give it a try at least once. Put the yellow and purple addons that each give the zombies a 50% speed boost. As long as you pay attention to their auras, there's all the info you need right there lol
There was a game where a three gen had a gen 99'ed. Within 2 downs and hooks, it was 15-20% tops. One guy was super mad at me lol
-
I was told I was sweating hard after a 1k Deathslinger match. I was like ...what?
-
I've been running Jolt. Pain Resonance, Pop, and Eruptuon on Nemesis lately. The salt it incites is hilarious. And while it most certainly is overkill, it really highlights the fact that most survivors just blindly do gens and rush into a three gen situation and a build like this absolutely shuts down a three gen and screeches everything to a halt.
-
The past week? How many clips you want?
-
The game isn't dark enough anymore to properly blend in and hide like you used to. Some maps, the darkness was atrocious. But I do think that the overall lighting being raised across the board was a bit of an overkill and ruined the aesthetic of the maps. The Game is much too bright on the bottom floor now, Yamaoka is missing the eerie calm it once had, MacMillan should be foggier and more gray. Coldwind, while very nice looking, is much too bright and makes it hard to see auras no matter what side you're playing. I much preferred Coldwind when it was a dusk map, not a 2 in the afternoon map. Lery's could also be darker than it is. At least when it was dark, it would help mask the fact that the Killer's POV is like looking through a paper towel roll.
It'd be cool if true night variations of maps would happen. Coldwind now with a full moon would be pretty awesome I'd say.
-
She should've been throwing hatchets. If you hit them while they jump in, it injures + eliminates snowman.
-
I like how there was a separate rift for Halloween event. That's what should have happened here. The rift as it is now is stupid easy to level up and complete way ahead of schedule. It would have been nice if all the rewards were on a Bone Chill tome. Still could have had the snowmen, but they could have acted as movable lockers instead of a free hit. That way everybody gets the rewards and no side gains an advantage over the other.
-
In the store, press the body tab. There's a bunch of recolor there.
-
Really wish they didn't cave and make it ridiculously easy to advance through the rift. It is much too easy now.

Running Lightborn against 4 flashlights is one of the few things in this game that just make me cackle maniacally. Oh, what's this? Your flashlight has been reduced to a glorified stick? You poor thing. Better try, try again--maybe it'll work next time!
Have yet to see it in action against Blast Mine, though.
Oh, it's amazing. Like you still get the stun, but not the blind, so you can see the aura of the survivor who planted it immediately. Good stuff.

Vast majority of SWFs with kanji during those times are hackers/script runners. I stream during that time every day and about 60-65% of games with those particular players ALWAYS have highly suspicious gameplay going on. Just Thanksgiving morning, I had about 2-3 hours straight of nothing but games with cheaters save for one or two games. Had one survivor use a Styptic AND a Refined Serum at the same time. Another SWF was getting knocked and getting right back up, fully healed. Another SWF had all 5 gens in 4 1/2 minutes done despite two people always tied up by me and no Prove Thyself, no BNPs, no toolboxes, absolutely nothing to help with repair speeds whatsoever. And let's not forget Dead Harding despite me following closely from anywhere from 3-10 seconds and tapping for a quick hit and getting screwed by Dead Hard validation EVERY TIME. Not lunging, tapping for the quick hit, something nobody could react to fast enough unless they had Auto Dead Hard cheats on. A lucky guess here and there, sure. It happens. But every single time? Not a chance. Not a single chance.
-
Got to play on Hawkins like 6 or 7 times over the weekend of 'boosted' appearances. Been playing for 8 1/2 hours, haven't gotten Hawkins one time.
Not one single time.
I know I'm in the minority, but I loved that map no matter what side I was on. Great design, you could strategize on either side. Definitely made you be more aware of your surroundings. Sorry for those that just want to run forward.

It's because his power hardcore stomps randoms, especially the infinite chain hunt build combined with RuinDying, and Big Data:tm: was showing he was overperforming and/or the amount of complaints make them want to nerf the build without killing the synergy between Hoarder/Franklin's and the Box.
Except these nerfs do kill the synergy between Hoarder/Franklin's and the box. Only morons never caught on to what someone with that build was doing. Once they catch on, they run the box as far as possible to solve. 6 seconds isn't enough time to get across a map or even halfway across a map. Chain hunts will no longer affect the box holder while solving, a max of 3 seconds can only be applied to solving it, they killed the build with this move.
Look, I understand that it may not be 'fun' to go against. But I also find that most people that say that also don't try to learn how to play against a killer more than one way. Each killer has a particular counter, but everybody wants to just loop and run and that's just not possible with every killer. At least not until a bunch of unnecessary nerfs. Deatbslinger was unnecessary, Wraith nerfs were unnecessary (just needed to adjust his Windstorm addons to account for his cloaked speed buff), Twins nerfs to Victor was unnecessary (somebody that was way out of position shouldn't be able to run across a room or a wide open space and crush Victor because he missed or had a successful down), Ghostface recharge addon nerfs unnecessary, and I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this.
But the nerfs that have been thrown survivor side have also been headscratching as well. Keys did need to be nerfed, but I feel what we got was just way over compensating and lacking any real thought. I like the hatch getting an animation to open. I don't like that it only spawns when there's one person left no matter what. I don't think it should spawn before last gen is completed unless there's only one person left. But if gens are completed, it should spawn for sure. A purple key should be good for one person only no matter what as long as it has full charges. A pink key could get all 4 out if all 4 are alive, but opening animation should also be longer if there's more than one survivor.
I'm just going to stop here because I'm sure I've more than made my point and I'm probably already annoying enough in my few sporadic posts here. I just feel that much better decisions could have been made balance wise if the community as a whole was listened to and not just reacting to a portion that just criess for nerfs.
-
Honestly, they need to come up with something better than hit validation. It's BS and everybody seems to time it just right now, even on quick hits and running them down for a moment before attempting the hit. I've come out of blinks where they had no mine of sight on me and perfect DH to avoid me. Its ridiculous.
And you know vaulting will get hit validation next. It's going to happen.
-
PS4, PST time zone
-
I had a team yesterday that whenever they had DH available, they always got the hit validation. Frame perfect DH every single time, even on quick hits.

They didn't nerf it enough, it's still a free insta down leaving no chance to survivors.
Didn't need a nerf, needed the skill ceiling raised. So many people use it from two feet away. 24+ meters to insta down should've been what it was.
-
So why exactly should a Hex that hasn't affected anyone yet be made aware to everyone as soon as the match ends? That's not how hexes work.
There's maps, there's perks, there's straight up awful totem spawns, along with 5 whole gens to compete before it becomes active. More than enough tools to counter it. Gens are not the only objective. Literally what the devs are telling you by putting something like Boons in the game.
-
Nope. Didn't work at all.
