I think Blindness is very underrated tbh.
Wouldn't mind it if it also hid the killers red light
-
Yeah, that's a problem
I'm all for the healing changes but this can't go live.

Yes, they certainly did disable drones.
Unfortunately for them, I only need three Drones and the areas around the gens are dead zones.
Also, these guys literally brought me to Ormond and were kitted up.
...they also may have all DC'd after the 25 minute mark.
If you had 3 drones that means only one survivor was disabling your drone...
So 75% of the survivors refused to interact with your power. There is zero reason you should ever have more then one drone if you hold a 3 gen and refuse to chase
Sorry but that does sound like it was on the survivors. And especially now that the 3gen perks are being gutted (rightfully so) i really don't see it as a issue anymore

I disagree.
I tested her "find a 3-gen at the start of the match" and then hold it forever. I could literally have held that until the server closed. That's not on the Survivors, that's on poor Killer design.
Did the survivors bother to disable the drones? I don't see you holding a 3 gen when your only power is being a 122% killer. You have to commit to chases at that point
Also one match doesn't mean much. People have played with burgerking Myers and managed to 4k. If survivors are bad enough everything is possible.
-
Not really. Her 3 gen is only good if survivors let it be.
If they actually bother to interact with her power her 3 gen abilities are about as good as a trapless trapper
She is really good at defending totems but she still can only be at one place at a time.
It isn't much stronger then demo's ability to defend totems and that boy can fast travel through his portals
-
facepalm
Is this community really this clueless about the game they play?
It's litterally the opposite. Tunneling is being decentivised with the update.
They want to nerf regression perks and shift the power to slow down the game by spreading injuries.
Tunnelers don't spread injuries, so they won't benifit from this natural slowdown as much. Meaning they are affected by all the nerfs and by none of the buffs
In DbD now you can tunnel one survivor, get 3 procs of pain res and then have CoB and Overcharge to lock the last couple of gens down as you wittle down the remaining 3 survivors and still have a perk slot left.
Good luck doing that after the update. Not only do you maximun get only one proc of pain res but holding the last gen won't be as easy too.
There is a case to be made that tunneling hasen't been decentivised enough. But how you could think a longer time to heal incentivises the strategy to not injure anyone but the one survivor you are chasing is beyond any reason
-
I think it's fine
It has it's niche and it helps to escape "mmr hell"
It's a very good insurance perk in solo q
-
At that point i would nerf the stronger perks and make adjustments to the base game cause if that many perks are weak it's usually a safe bet it's because they are outshined by overpowered perks
Which funny enough is exactly what is happening
Autodidact for example is going to shoot from low C/D tier to atleast high B if not A+ tier if these changes go life and they haven't touched it at all

The pro/veterans players would lightburn Nurse. And I haven't played for a long time so when I did Sloppy Butcher did work with Nurse's blinks.
I'm pretty sure the pro/veterans blind the nurse to take away her second blink, we don't know if that aspect has been changed
Also i will never understand how people who stopped playing this game still stick around forums to give feedback about something they don't know about
You first say you will cry every survivor game to then reveal you don't actually play the game anymore
Sometimes i really wonder how many people on this forum don't actually play this game and flood it with useless feedback

My only request is they roll back the base speed for healing when healing others. The self nerf is fine.
I would rather see how it goes the way it is.
Making the healing of others 16 seconds means we are back to a single perk being enough to negate the killers hits in less then 10 seconds.
If it's too much now then sure that's a good step to take but i don't think it will be needed
-
I don't know about that.
It's one thing to stay injured against a Legion all match
It's another entirely against killers that have powers to land hits. Staying injured is going to end the match faster thats true.
But it can be from the killer suddenly snowballing just as much as survivors rushing gens.
A full injured survivor team can very quickly fall into a losing battle of attrition of picking themself up if the killer ever gets a good chance to slug
-
Sweet summer child, i hope you never experience the various reason people would want to hide their name
-
Imo it has the potential to be the best update DbD has ever got.
Outside of the Billy nerf, that one is stupid
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
MAYBE if they buff CoH to 100% increased Heal Speed. But surely not in its current nerfed state. If you want heal speed you can rather bring Botany Knowledge (which is also 50%) or We Will Make It (which is 100% for a limited, but still generous, time).
Sure, those only apply to you and not to the whole team, but you dont need to set up a Boon for several seconds. And while We Will Make It requires an Unhook, the majority of the time you are healing another Survivor is after Unhooking them, not many Killers drop chases nowadays because they often have the time to just bloodlust a loop.
Yet, I still fear that too many people will be using CoH. It is already annoying as Survivor to play with other Survivors who bring CoH, because those are really helping the Killer win when they waste time blessing Totems instead of doing Gens. Will be even worse when CoH is worse.
I disagree.
CoH being 100% means all it takes is a single person to bring something like Botany and we are back to killers hits being negated in less then 10 seconds
The whole point of the update is to shift the power of slowing the game down away from perks and into the time it takes to heal.
This benefits everyone. Killers can run things other then gen perks and not feel handicapped and the heal times only matter if they actually spread injuries so tunneling will be weaker.
-
I had my doubts at first but the more i think about it the more i think this is the best update we will have in years.
Shiften the power to slow the game down from perks to heal speeds that is in the base game means killers will finally be able to play without gen defence perks and not feel handicapped
This basekit slowdown also only applies if you actually spread injuries. For tunnelers the game will be harder cause they won't have as strong gen perks to back it up. Meaning tunneling might very well not be the optimal way to play anymore
This update is exactly what the community asked for but they are to blind to see it
-
@Snowflake_Syndrome said:
I don't think CoH needed any changes. It's in a really good spot now imo.
It might be in a good spot in the DbD of today where killers can tunnel a survivor and get 3 procs of pain res and have regression perks that allow them to hold 3 gens for ages
But the community made it clear that they didn't like that dbd
In the dbd of the future were the slowdown for killers will come from their ability to score hits on the survivors instead of strong regression perks the Coh we have today has no place
-
I mean at that point the killer already has a kill and 3 people injured, it should be hard to bounce back after that.
You still being able to heal up and do gens in that situation is why this change is good. Now you have to choose
It also ignores perks Botany shaves of 8 seconds of that heal,
COH not only shaves of 16 seconds but let the Claud and Dwight coordinate where to heal even if in solo
Autodictate will also be a lot better seeing how not only will you have more time to get stacks but it is % based so the bonus is better then with 16 second heals.
There are a lot of good healing options that in the past weren't usefull cause of how strong healing was basekit
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
Yup, tunneling gets a gigabuff it doesn't need with the heal speed nerf.
The medkit change is fine, circle could have had reduced self heal speed imo, but even with both of the proposed changes as-is it would've been enough.
The heal speed going to 24 seconds destroys large parts of the game. One of those is solo q, and for this exact reason.
Tunneling is worse in the next update
If you tunnel one survivor the others aren't getting injured and the regression perks are worse so it's harder to defend the last gens when the killer has tunneled someone out.
The only way tunneling is better is if there are a lot of gens left after someone is dead but that's on the survivors. If the killer is able to focus one survivor down and not lose 3 gens in the process then survivors messed up
-
Imo the healing change together with the perk nerfs is one of the healtiest changes this game will have in a long time
Nerfing regression perks and making healing longer means killers can run more varriety of perks without feeling handicapped. There is a basekit way of slowing the game now if you're skilled enough to deal many injuries
For the survivor side this patch makes tunneling less strong. The healing change doesn't matter if the killer goes for only one person and where now the killer can sacrifice 3-4 gens tunneling somebody out and hold the last gens with strong regression perks it won't be as easy if this update gets through
Shifting perk slowdown to a slowdown that's always in the game is a good thing
-
If my experience with Deliverance says something i will always be the first on the hook

@Pulsar said:
I think the game will just revert back to the 2018 meta.
Pharmacy wasn't meta then, it won't be meta now I don't think.
We'll Make It will be very popular though.
Think Resurgance will be used?
It does save 12 seconds, 15 vs mangled
And it doubles your medkit in a way
Only real downside i can see is sloppy being popular and hemorrhage messing it up
-
In the minority here but i really like her.
I do run chase perks with her so my playstyle does help with that. I don't use the super 3 gen lockdown, despite how much more effective it may be.
-
I hope they haven't scrapped it.
Last test obviously didn't go well and needed a lot of work but i do like the concept of ending the match with a mori
-
Honestly the hook stages should have been increased to 1m15 seconds or even 1m 30 seconds each since 6.1
-
Don't
Everybody that plays this game has signed that they agree that anything in the game can change at any time
People who expect refunds for this are people who don't pay attention when they purchase things and the blame is entirely on them
-
While i agree i do want to see how it plays out as it is first.
People really need to look at this changes together and not in vaccuum
One side is complaining that healing is going to be a huge timesink
The other complains that all regression perks are nerfed and survivors will just genrush
What i invision is survivors being more vulnerable overall but that the killer needs to score hits and win chases to be able to slow the game down.
A fast paced game where a match at any point swing in the others favor.
This sounds as a huge improvement to killers being able to slow down gens without actually interacting with the survivors and survivors being able to undo the killers successes in a no time at all
Shifting the ability to slow gens down from perk power to your in game power to score hits seems like a great change to me

-Time your lunge to hit at the end of the DH, since they can't drop the pallet until DH is over.
-Lunge while looking up, so that you don't hit the DH, and likely end up blocking the prompt for them.
- Don't lunge, follow them through the DH and then M1 them to take advantage of the lingering hitbox. You'll probably hit them and get the pallet out of the way at the same time.
Hope this helps. DH is incredibly easy to counter.
Lol part of me really hopes that this "looking up so you don't hit dead hard" is true
I would find it really funny that there was such a simple counter to such a hated perk and the perk ended up being gutted cause nobody shared this supereasy counter.
This counter would also completely make autodead hard irrelevant too if it was true
I'm actually going to try it out if i remember next match. If this is actually a thing then the nerf of dead hard is entirely your fault for hoarding the counter nobody else has found

I feel like the devs are attempting to shift the game a bit so that killers slow down the game more with their own gameplay, injuring survivors as much as possible, with less slow down coming from perks. This might also be a reaction to the complaints about the 3 gen strategy, because the killer actually has to chase survivors to get hits against them.
I actually kind of really like the idea to be honest, but if I had to guess, they will reduce the healing time to 20 seconds before the patch hits live. I do agree that it would be nice to have a meta shift in this game, it needs it. I actually believe Pain Res will still not be that bad, but I also do think they should buff the regression up to 20%, since it activates less times.
Yeah i feel that way too.
The changes are really extreme but it is important to not look at them in a vaccuum but as a whole.
Survivors are less safe now that healing is harder and DH doesn't get that safety blanked but killers have most of their easy regression removed so they have to get their slowdown now from interracting with survivors.
I'm interrested to see how this goes tbh

That isn’t good, Karu. I’m sure if you saw a survivor using an 80-second Selfcare you’d wonder why they weren’t just on a generator. Especially if you tried healing them and they continue to use their Self-care.
I'm pretty sure he's aware it isn't good.
Just clarifying specifics of how bad it actually is
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Because there's another key component they're missing out: buffing weaker perks, too.
It's all well and good when you take everything that's at the top and nerf it, but without giving other weake perks compensatory buffs it runs the risk of making the entire game feel somehow even more stale.
They changed 2 weak perks this update. 2.
Thing is a lot of perks are conciddert weak not because they are weak but because they are outshined by others.
There are quite a bit of chase perks for example that are pretty decent but they could never hold up against regression.
Now that hits are going to mean a lot more and regression isn't as clearly the way to go maybe this is the time we can finally move away from the gen slowdown or bust meta
I'm intrested to see what happens. I don't think it's going to be as gloom and doom as everyone seems to be predicting. I feel like it's going to make a lot faster paced gameplay for both sides
-
It's only the drone you activate and only for like 15 seconds.
It's a lot less effective then you'd think
More fun then 3 genning though!

Pretty sure this calculation is correct, I also just ran through it myself and also got 504.80. In other words, 8 minutes and 24.80 seconds.
@AmpersandUnderscore We cannot get the 11th DL stack/proc Leverage a second time for this calculation because doing so will either disable DL (because obsession would have to be dead), or necessitate that the survivor self-caring is the obsession, meaning DL would not apply. So we do not benefit from doing this.
Midnight math prevails again!
-
I don't understand it either, this community is so exhausting.
Always asking for change but fearfull when it eventually comes
-
@GensByDaylight said:

I believe it is impossible to test, as leverage will deactivate.
I thought you had to keep that into account?
-
I love how everybody is getting something different
We'll have to test it out in the ptb to see who was right
-
Why do you do this to me?
Okay 24 base
Self care is at 25% speed, Leverage is 50% slowdown for 30 seconds Penti is 30% slowdown, Coulro is 50% slowdown, Dying light is 30% slowdown and mangled is 20% slowdown
The total slowdown is 1-(0.5x0.7x0.5x0.7x0.8)=0.902 or 90.2% but that's only for 30 seconds, after 30 seconds it's 80.4% slowdown
Self care makes you work at 0.25 charges per second so that's 0.25x0.098=0.0245 charges per second for 30 seconds and 0.049 charges per second after 30 seconds
You need 24 charges so you get 0.735 charges after 30 seconds and then it takes 474.8 seconds for the remaining charges for a total of 504.8 seconds or 8 minutes and 24.6 seconds
I think... I might be wrong but i'm not redoing it
-
I'm ... intrested
The changes are so drastic that I'm not even going to try to predict how things will go
There is one thing i know though. We wanted a meta change and these changes will 100% create a meta change
Many people complained DbD was going stale and this update changes that. Both sides will have to seek new perks to use and find a meta and i can't deny i'm kinda excitted for that. It is going to be a different DbD which is what we asked for.
If it's too much we can always turn it back a little. I'm more a fan of more extreme changes and dialing it back then barrely changing anything and feeling like you're not making progress. Altruistic healing should probably be buffed but i want to see how it works without it first.
Some changes are just a hard no, Billy's engravings did not need a nerf. Hell if anything whatever the number they are nerfing it with should go to basekit.
Hag changes are good cause it finally kills trap under hook hag that solo q struggled so hard with. She is going to need compenstation buffs in the future though
Also pls buff self care. Even if the numbers are going to be the same as they are now. Don't make it take a minute to heal with it pls
-
On the other hand, the killer will be able to snowball a lot harder without the safety blanked DH or rapid heals gave survivors
Gen rush might become more common but i think killers will be able to deal with it more.
Game will be more fast paced for both sides, and i don't see that as a bad thing
-

You tunnel 2 survivors at the same time?
I've tunneled the whole team at the same time if you have to believe some survivora i've faced. While simultaneously camping them.
That aside it isn't about what you do in game it's how you program it. If you program that the last survivor that gets unhooked gets immune you need to account for what happens if both are unhooked at the same time. Cause that is possible, no matter how unlikely.
There is a lot of nuance to programming a game. If you think you found a easy solution it's cause you haven't thought it trough
-
Instead of getting rid of it they could make it more interresting by giving a trade off.
Running Hubris with Wraith is pretty fun and punishing to the lightburners if you play your cards right so why not make that basekit? Lightburn a wraith and you get exposed for a while.
Use a flashlight to get rid of crows? You get swarmed.
Instead of destroying hag traps what if flashlights triggered them allowing the hag to teleport
-
I think i would prefer the 3 second stun but also give the survivor a speed boost to make distance.
To the point that the tunneled survivor gains more distance then with the 5 second stun but the killer doesn't spend a long time twiddling their thumbs
On a side note i've been running DS again and it has saved me quite a few times, people don't expect it at all anymore

People really underestimate how big the playerbase is huh?
Last year they made a anouncement they reached 50 million players
It would not be a crazy estimate to say we have 5-10 million active players. and that was last year
-
I hope not
While i do agree that they should iron out the extremes, they should not try to go for perfect balance.
Not only is that impossible with the amount of variety in the game i believe that the chaos a lot of these imbalances give is the reason why DbD is going so strong.
Balance is overrated. It is essentially bringing every game closer to being the same.
Again yes pls iron out the extremes
But a perfectly balanced DbD is a boring DbD that will die in a instant
-
I hope they buff chase perks hard when they do that. I want to see a 3 chase perk one slowdown perk meta
... yeah yeah i know, i can dream
