I definitly agree, it's a good perk, but there are definitly better perks in DBD.
Agree

The new graphics will make it worse for killers. Not to mention that the performance and FPS might drop for every player across the board, with consoles suffering tremendously from the new graphics.
I thought they did multiple optimization passes on console? Are they still 30 FPS ? oO
-
Agree, Ghostface really needs a shorter cooldown by default on his power!
-
I also know someone who gets it occasionally, sadly no known fix yet!
-
I am against the MMR system too. When you start getting good at killer, you will basically play against SWF literally every game. I can't see how that would be fun in the short/long term. Now it's random if you get SWF, with the new system, not so...
-
I would just put on an indicator that the survivor has it, simple as that. No mither also has that (broken status). Why hide it?
-
Are current consoles still stuck at 30 FPS? They promised various optimization passes, didn't they?
-
I do hope, however that they will some day
-
Wiggle and struggle makros don't give you any advantage, so not bannable, it's like pressing the keys on keyboard.
I would avoid editing engine.ini file, as this could give you an advantage, although they removed most options from there anyways and hard-coded them. Gameusersettings.ini is a regular settings file, that you can edit how you like (it's like going into the game's settings)
-
I believe they won't show it, for whatever reason, maybe to avoid starting a riot in the community, who knows.... Even though they said last anniversary the game is in the "community's hands" now, that is in some aspects very far from true, unfortunately
-
Maybe 28th, when they fix the regressions that made the PTB pretty much unplayable

Don't know man, every tweak in game files can lead to a VAC, same thing with modding the color of perks, a lot of ppl do, but still might be bannable, 'cause it ain't BHRV choice, it's the steam that sees it as moding the files ergo VAC ban.
There is a difference between "game files" that you mention and a pure settings file... game files are compiled/compressed and need third party tools to adjust them. Also which makes my argument stronger, is that EAC checks on every game launch if game files are modified and clearly if you would modify your settings file and it would count as game files, it would say to repair your installation... no one was ever banned for modifying game files.. this can happen simply by corruption. People are banned because of 3rd party sorfware hooking into the running game process my dude

The DC penalty has been disabled because hackers were giving it to random people at will (Tru3 and another streamer received 72 hour long penalties). I'm a PS4 Doctor player, but most of my DCs are when people fail at pulling off their sick "montage-worthy" plays. I've had people try to locker tech me and immediately DC upon getting grabbed.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1450833#Comment_1450833
Other people would step up to replace them. People could see themselves unable to play for weeks. Disabling the penalties means that the devs can work on the problem without fear of it spreading farther than just a couple of streamers. I want to play DbD without having to worry about some salty ######### giving me a 3-day penalty for no reason.
I'm pretty sure the devs can remove the penalty when it is clear it was not your fault

Hackers were able to give people the DC penalty at will.
Then just ban the hackers? Was probably 0.01% of all playerbase
-
Why did they disable the DC penalty?? Did I miss something?
-
She already got a nerf. What do you want?
-
Pretty sure the reason is simplicity. Correct me if I am wrong. Especially for new players for example +0.2 m/s sounds like nothing and they would not understand the real impact.
-
You can facecamp extremely easy even with new changes. I just tried it
-
@DrDeepwound said:
survivors always say they can use exploits, "its in the game" "blame the devs for leaving it"
We saw what happens on twitch when large streamers were abusing exploits live on cam,..... nothing. The asylum map bug? learned it on twitch, walking backwards as legion, saw it on twitch,....
Yeah, I have to agree with you. It's a sad thing, unfortunately.
-
I don't fully understand your logic / reasoning behind you now using his stronges Addons and the Moris.
Shouldn't it be the other way around? After your so-called "nerf", I think you could use them better if you think he will be far less viable then... Wouldn't that make more sense? 🤔🙄
-
Basically 2 reasons (and when you play survivor yourself, you will know them already):
- Makes end-game rescues nearly impossible without trading hooks while NOED is active
- Gives killer a speed boost turning most loops in the game into the killer's favour
-
@slim0b said:
Also note that curving at loops is now impossible due to the amount of backrevving involved until distance is gained (causing an overheat 90% of the time in the process)
I really can't stand people making assumptions before they even got to play the updated killers.... Just wait and see, is that so hard?

I don't see how a visual overhaul would dramatically increase new bugs other than visual bugs. Maybe if they're doing mesh changes?
I'm more concerned about losing vision inside the shack and other places where you could see through the planks of wood.
Why is that a "concern"? Finally balanced.

It's the event. Currently, this event has more people playing killer than normal. Mostly because killers earn the crowns faster, and get more Ghastly Gateau's in their bloodwebs (seriously, I P3'ed Pyramid Head, and with my saved up BP brought him to Lvl 43, and ended up with 36 Ghastly Gateau's!). So... Queue times are increased for both sides because more people are playing killer than the ideal amount.
That would mean as survivor, I would get killer lobby instantly... which is not the case, sadly
-
So this means the framerate will get worse? I hope not!
-
@TWiXT said:
4 survivors to every 1 killer... Ideally in that 64k that would mean there are 16k killers, and 48k survivors, but naturally, people want to play the more fun and less frustrating role, so the killer players are more likely in the 10k range, which would mean fast queue times for killers, but longer waits for survivors. However, a new killer was just introduced, so that may increase the killer player amount to 20-25k, which would mean that for them and survivors, queue times increase dramatically. It's just the nature of the game... More players often means longer wait times, unless more than half of the player base is playing survivor.
I have 5 to 10 minute waiting time regardless if I play killer or survivor, so there is clearly something wrong imo
-
Yes I noticed too that matchmaking is getting worse
-
What? A makro does not help here.... It's the same as when you would say a makro while struggling keeps you on the hook longer. Makes no sense. There is a cap to the input accepted
-
@Cancan71 said:
In the game Identity V (basically DBD mobile) there is an option for survivors to surrender if all four survivors are knocked down. BHVR should implement a system like that so that killers can't BM survivors by leaving them on the floor. It's not uncommon that I run into a killer who slugs the remaining survivors for 4 minutes just to be rude. That double the amount of time than the EGC, which was introduced to stop survivors BMing for too long.
That can be easily exploited from the survivor side then.
-
As far as I know, there is no way to hold a game hostage other than bodyblock a survivor in a corner or the survivor using an exploit to be unreachable... All other things do not seem to be bannable as the game will 100% end (for example survivor doing all gens or bleeds out)...
-
@Peanits said:
I say this as a Huntress main, hitting people when the hatchet flies way over their head was silly. The hatchet wouldn't be anywhere near them, but it would hit anyway. It was also inconsistent with crouching since crouching would make your hitbox shorter.
We're not talking about the hatchet flying "way" over their head, but just slightly .
@OtakuBurrito I am just bringing this to light, in no way overly complaining. Just want to start a discussion, but you clearly are the one overreacting to this post.

@Nurgling7 said:
Survivors were crying about it. So it was a top priority.
That must be it.

There you have it, over 40% do play SWF. Quite a high number IMO

It isn't OP, but I do agree it should have a cooldown. A perk should never be able to be abusable with certain mechanics. Points you towards Tier3 Myers, Hillbilly and Oni.
Nothing should be abusable in the game. Sadly there are a few currently in it that still are.
100% agree it could use a cooldown for it; 30-45 seconds should be fair for what the perk allows the killer to do.
A perk that can be countered by the survivors is by any means not OP...

Imagine a super large map with 6 survivors and 2 killers. Lmao, what a disaster.
2 Killers will never, ever gonna work with the current game... Just too exploitable
-
Because the devs didn't fix it.
-
I don't know if anyone of you actually remember the game Evolve, but it had a very neat feature in the post-game screen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR6vcRAfUj8Something like that would be not too much hassle to implement I think!
-
I love how OP does not even give ANY reason or an explanation on how he/she thinks this Perk is in any way OP....
To me, it just seems like you just got caught by it, were mad and went onto the forum to let off some steam.
-
Simple counterplay: Sabo the hook next to you before you do the gen --> Takes 2-3 seconds and completely hides you from the aura reading. Also, you can hide behind the generator just like you hide before BBQ
-
The locations are the same as for PC. They announced every server location with the launch of dedicated servers. Just look if you are near one of them.
-
@Archimedes5000 said:
It will be changed, its better than BBQ currently, and this is pretty dumb imo.
I think it should work only in the carrying radius of the killer (56m without Agitation or Iron Grasp)
What are you talking about? BBQ gives loads of extra BP and is activated on hook, which is far better as while the aura reading is on, you can already move in the survivor's direction. Also you don't need a survivor near a hook to see the aura

Game is soooooo survivor sided, cant believe they are increasing tool box repair speed, evil devs catering to much to baby survivors and ruining my beautiful game experience >:-(
Relative speed, yes. Absolute? No. Personally I like the change.

@Boss said:
It probably will destroy it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1100803#Comment_1100803
FD removes a flat % of the Item, resulting in the Item being destroyed if the Item % is less than what's on the Perk.
The game will save your Item now from you using it, but FD should still work, since they didn't mention FD at all.
Exactly. it will REMOVE a percentage and until now, when an item had 0%, it was destroyed.
But with the new changes, when item has 0% it is deactivated, and not destroyed. If the item already is deactivated, it will just be dropped, as there is no charge mechanic anymore after the item is deactivated.
-
Franklins will drop the item the survivor carries, not destroy it.
That's how it always has been and will not be changed!
-
You haven't even seen the mechanic... Why are you already criticizing it??
-
Yes!
-
It's a known problem for at least 4 months now but sadly it is not fixed whatsoever.
The only thing you can do right now is pray to the devs to fix this issue in a timely manner.
-
The DC penalty has to be increased dramatically!!
FYI: Current penalties are as follows:
1-2 DC: 5 min
3-4 DC: 15 min
5-6 DC: 30 min
7 DC: 1 hour
8 DC: 6 hours
9 DC: 1 day
10 DC: 2 days
11 DC: 3 days
Also, it seems like there is a delay set between increasing DC points (it uses a point system in the background) for 1 hour and a "decay" rate of 1 day for a point.
Hopefully you can now understand better.

The code base is basically the same for every platform... That's why there exists the crossplay icon in console version. The difference is that in Unreal Engine you export the game for different platform and there you go... All of PC assets are in console version and vice versa.
Also, there currently is a way (glitch) to gain basically unlimited speed with nurse which is very easy to do (no I don't tell you the way), and I'm pretty sure this guy here abused it. The hyper speed on nurse does not necessarily prove this guy is a hacker.... But the cosmetic and charms do!
