Isnt the next anniversary gonna be the community voted killer? If so we gotta wait till 2027 till Jason gets added.

They never said the community chapter was gonna be the anniversary chapter specifically, only that they wanted to release the community chapter at some point in 2026.

  • Jason has had a standing invitation into DBD for many years now and all chapters take around a year to make.

There's no doubt that Jason is on the way, however it's most certainly not going to be the next licensed chapter.

If anything, they're probably saving it for next anniversary.

  • How is that not entirely true? SM takes work for hire just like bhvr does for other companies and their IPs.

SM doesn't hold any copyright over TCOFS because they were only hired by bhvr to develop it for them, the same way SM don't own Until Dawn and The Quarry. Something that the copyright text of those games backs up by not mentioning SM in them.

That's not an assumption either btw, that's entirely a fact. (Also Cote himself have stated in interviews that bhvr entirely owns TCOFS.)

  • @SoGo said:

    True.

I like the tome very much, despite the obvious problems (the ableism).

For a fictional story, i don't consider it a problem as long as it serves to actually help tell the story itself, which it does in context with how the story plays out.

Plus given the time period that the story takes place in.

  • @Duncan_Ellis said:

The only thing I can think of is that there might be a licensing conflict with Supermassive. SM and Sony but heads quite a bit anymore and SM is getting tired of being pushed around after Sony yanked Until Dawn from them.

Which is impossible since BHVR fully owns the copyright to TCOFS. SM have no legal rights to it or to how bhvr use the game, since SM were just hired to develop it for them.

The same way SM were only hired to develop The Quarry for 2K and Until Dawn for Sony.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is the only real thing that SM actually owns.

  • Bhvr only have the license for the first movie.

Anything beyond that falls under a different copyright with a different company.

  • Yes i would, and frankly i don't agree one bit with any of the things all the naysayers in this thread are saying about the lore.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Hag's lore isn't great but I don't think she's the most poorly handled. I'd give that award to Artist's lore.

Let me guess, you haven't read the additional tome lores of the character and are solely judging her lore purely based on her base lore alone.

"None of those characters have ''fractured identities'', what the ######### are you even talking about?"

Oh sure, fractured identities don’t exist in DBD… except for, you know, Legion, who are literally four different teenagers but somehow counted as one killer because the Entity mashed their impulses together. Totally not fractured, right?

And then there’s The Twins - one body, one baby, one brain split across two vessels. But nah, definitely not an identity split.

Oh, and The Dredge? Just a pile of writhing limbs and shifting forms. No identity distortion there at all. Nope. Nothing to see.

    • Legion are 4 seperate people in the lore and the Legion comic and their Blight cosmetic confirms this. The only reason that we aren't playing as all of them at once and have to switch between them cosmetically in the lobby is solely because of gameplay.
    • Both Twins can move and act on their own, as seen in their lobby animation, their moris, their trailer & their lore. The only reason Charlotte can't move in-game while controlling Victor is solely because of gameplay.
    • We have no concrete lore on Dredge as a character, as all we have of it is the last part of it's base lore where it's formed and then disappears.

I've already stated all of this above, which you completely ignored just so you could try and bump your thread.

Oh you will so hate me for this..

“Sable wasn't changed and we have no lore about Sable that backs that claim up, because she has no lore beyond her base lore.“

    She does now😌

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/457236/endless-halloween-festival-betwixt-the-veil-mikaela-sable-tryks-all-along

More speculative nonsense that you treat as factual. Nothing within that AI written post proves anything.

    • Your analog arguments doesn't work because there is no story build up for Tryks to be more than what she already is, especially now that the Twisted Masquerade events are over and done with and will be replaced by a new theme next anniversary.
    • Sable's friendship with Mikaela feels hollow solely because she didn't exist as a character prior to her chapter's release.
    • You spelling Jezabel constantly wrong doesn't change the fact that her name is not an anagram and that changing her name to Jezable doesn't make it into one.
    • Nothing within that entire wall of text of your perception of Sable's base lore is concrete evidence that she split into two people, it will always be nothing more than pure speculation on your part, as Sable's base lore ends as she enters the fog to find her friend Mikaela.
    • Sable isn't a mastermind and your ''quote'' from her lore that you used in your second point, isn't even what's correctly written in it, as well as the context being entirely different than from what you've written it as. For Sable to be a mastermind, she would have intentionally known that Mikaela would have been taken by The Entity on stage and having known what The Entity even is, which she didn't and her lore makes that crystal clear.
    • The shadow in Mikaela's lore is obviously The Entity, as it is who we see across Mikaela's entire base lore that's after her and who takes her in the end on the stage.
    • Until something is confirmed in lore by bhvr themselves, everything you've stated is and forever will be pure speculations no matter what, and no amount of pieces that you think lines up will change that.

Frankly, i'm done wasting anymore of my time on you and your AI written looking posts. So i'm simply just gonna put you on ignore now.

Edit: You know what, just for that last little comment of yours, i'm gonna specifically go out of my way to tell bhvr to never bring Tryks back again at every opportunity i get, and i'm gonna do it purely out of spite against you and you personally.

    image.png

The fact that you're still spelling it as Jezable despite the fact that DBD spells it Jezabel, means you're either illiterate or just rage baiting.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Even though I don’t see things the same way, and the number of “vote up” doesn’t change my perspective, I genuinely value the conversation - thank you for sharing.

    1. “It feels forced and doesn’t fit TRYKS’ role.”
DBD is full of fractured identities - Legion, Twins, even the Dredge. TRYKS being powerful doesn’t rule out pieces of her slipping into the Fog as separate personas like Sable. It actually fits perfectly.

    2. “It’s just fan service.”
Sure, people love the quirky archetype - but DBD characters often hide darker sides. Like Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, playful and harmless on the surface, yet powerful and cunning beneath. Sable could be TRYKS filtered through the Entity - chaos as a mask for her darker, original self. That’s more than fan service.

    3. “Their aesthetics aren’t the same.”
Small overlaps are enough. TRYKS and Sable feel like two sides of the same coin - chaotic vs. playful.

    4. “Their speech is different.”
This actually supports the fractured identity idea. TRYKS shifts tones, Sable leans into quirk, yet shared verbal fingerprints remain:

    Campfire lines:

    • Sable: “A fire. Yum. Bring out the marshmallows.” / “Yeah. Let’s hear a campfire story.”
    • TRYKS: “Hiya! Come… warm yourself by the fire.” / “Hello there! Come roast some ears by the fire.”

    “Seriously” lines:

    • Sable: “Okay. I want to wake up now. Seriously.” / “Seriously I get the feeling something bad is about to happen, yum.”
    • TRYKS: “You made it. Bravo. No, seriously. Bravo.” / “What’s the panic about? Seriously.” / “Seriously. This was preventable.” / “Are you laughing or screaming. Seriously. I can’t tell.”

    Existential / reflective lines:

    • Sable: “I have the feeling I’ve been here before.” / “I just had a déjà vu. I think I know what’s going to happen next.” / “So the moral of the story is… doesn’t matter…”
    • TRYKS: “You ever ask yourself what’s it all for?” / “Ever wonder what it all means?” / “Ever wonder why? And who? And how? It’s crazy when you think about it.”

All these patterns - curiosity, reflection, campfire imagery, shared tics like “Seriously,” and moments where TRYKS hints at Sable’s darker, playful side - suggest a real connection. In drama terms, TRYKS is the chaotic, mischievous “comedy,” while Sable is the darker “tragedy,” drawn to horror and danger. Together, they feel like two halves of the same character, split by the Entity.

The Fog makes this even more believable. It can erode memories, distort identities, and create fragments or archetypes, sometimes splitting a person into different aspects to fit the trials. Sable could have entered the Fog and emerged as Je‑Zable/TRYKS - her grounded, dark original self transformed into a chaotic, exaggerated persona. Both could coexist, replaying trials and patterns, a continuous interplay of her two sides.

🎭 Sable walked into the Fog… and Je‑Zable strutted out. Same face. Same stare. One name. 🎭

    5. “Different voice actors.”
Multiple voices actually strengthen the fractured identity idea. Legion showed one character can speak with many voices. TRYKS and Sable sounding different doesn’t separate them - it underlines the split.

    6. “Better as a sidelined NPC.”
TRYKS has too much potential to waste. Unlike Vecna, she’s original, and linking her to Sable could make her one of the most layered characters in the game.

    7. “It’s just fan speculation.”
Speculation often sparks DBD’s biggest lore discoveries. Overlaps in style, quirks, and voice lines feel more like intentional breadcrumbs than coincidence.

identity distortion is common in DBD, so it's entirely believable that sable is the "true" version and Je-Zable/TRYKS is a Fog-amplified manifestation of her traits. The Fog didn't just change her - it split her: comedy became tragedy, chaos became horror, and Sable became Je-Zable/TRYKS.

DBD is full of fractured identities - Legion, Twins, even the Dredge.

None of those characters have ''fractured identities'', what the ######### are you even talking about?

We know nothing about Dredge as a character beyond it being a manifestation of dark thoughts, Twins are two entirely different people & Legion are a group of 4 people who lorewise, are all together in the realm as seen in the Legion comic and from the fact that their Blighted cosmetic are them merging together.

None of them have ''fractured identities''.

The difference is that there was build up for Agatha in Wandavision to be that way, nothing in regards to Tryks have given us any indications that she's connected to Sable and your ridiculous theory aren't anything other than pure speculation on your part based on surface level similarities.

Small overlaps are enough. TRYKS and Sable feel like two sides of the same coin - chaotic vs. playful.

No it ain't. You feeling like it's two sides of a coin doens't mean that it is. In fact, it feels more like you're trying to use things that aren't related to each other as proof of something that aren't the case.

This actually supports the fractured identity idea. TRYKS shifts tones, Sable leans into quirk, yet shared verbal fingerprints remain:

Them using the same words in a few voicelines is such a reach to call proof. Also none of the things Sable says is quirky, they're just corny.

Still just speculative nonsense on your part and nothing else.

The Fog doesn't erode memories, memories get wiped by The Entity upon resurrection after death during the trials.

There hasn't been any cases in the lore of the fog distorting identities or fragments or archetypes or splitting a person into different aspects or whatever nonsense it is you're spewing.

Sable walked into the Fog… and Je‑Zable strutted out. Same face. Same stare. One name.

Except they, again as i've stated above multiple times now, don't have the same exact ######### face. Their names are also, again as i've stated before, spelled differently and you ignoring those facts and keep changing Jezabel into jezable doesn't support what you're claiming. Their names are not anagrams and just because you treat them as such, doesn't make them so.

Multiple voices actually strengthen the fractured identity idea. Legion showed one character can speak with many voices. TRYKS and Sable sounding different doesn’t separate them - it underlines the split.

Except Legion's voice changes because they're, again, a group of 4 people who you cosmetically switch between in the lobby. Your arguement for Tryks and Sable doesn't hold up and further just cements to me that you're seeing things that aren't there.

TRYKS has too much potential to waste. Unlike Vecna, she’s original, and linking her to Sable could make her one of the most layered characters in the game.

Linking her to Sable is beyond ######### stupid and would take away from what is already established about the character so far in the lore.

Speculation often sparks DBD’s biggest lore discoveries. Overlaps in style, quirks, and voice lines feel more like intentional breadcrumbs than coincidence.

Lore speculations haven't let to any discoveries before, you're speaking nonsense again, and those ''overlaps'' as you call them, aren't breadcrumbs.

identity distortion is common in DBD, so it's entirely believable that sable is the "true" version and Je-Zable/TRYKS is a Fog-amplified manifestation of her traits. The Fog didn't just change her - it split her: comedy became tragedy, chaos became horror, and Sable became Je-Zable/TRYKS.

Identity distortion hasn't happened before with other characters. Sable wasn't changed and we have no lore about Sable that backs that claim up, because she has no lore beyond her base lore.

Why resist the idea that they have a fractured identity and are essentially one and the same? Beyond aesthetics, no other characters share similar speech patterns - but both use “Seriously” in their voice lines. TRYKS has real potential, and sidelining her would be a wasted opportunity. I understand your perspective, but to me, the evidence points to them being linked. Fans have speculated that Sable and TRYKS are connected, and I think that theory has merit. That said, I also believe she would make a fantastic killer.

Why resist the idea that they have a fractured identity and are essentially one and the same?

Because it feels incredibly forced and out of left field. Not only that, it also wouldn't fit Tryk's character whatsoever being either a Survivor or a Killer, since she is someone in the lore, who's more powerful than any of the Killers and Survivors combined within the fog. As she's one of the few people in the fog other than The Entity, who has asserted some control over The Entity's realm and has freedom to move seemlessly move around the realm without issue.

Most people who want Tryks as either a Survivor or Killer don't care about the lore aspect. They only want her added back in solely for fan service reason, since she's the quirky Harley Quinn/Tiny Tina character archetype that some people really like.

Beyond aesthetics, no other characters share similar speech patterns - but both use “Seriously” in their voice lines.

Their aesthetics aren't even remotely the same beyond a few similar elements to a cosmetic or two, which doesn't mean anything concrete.

Their speech patterns are also entirely different, as you don't hear Tryks say ''Yum'' or make references to The Wizard of Oz like Sable does. Likewise, you don't hear Sable switch between different tone of voice and way of speaking, like Tryks did back during the twisted masquerade in the trials at times.

Them using the word seriously in a single line or so doesn't hold any real merit to it. Also they're both voiced by two entirely different voice actors.

TRYKS has real potential, and sidelining her would be a wasted opportunity.

I'd rather have her sidelined and remain a lore npc character than have her made into a Killer who gets the Vecna treatment.

I understand your perspective, but to me, the evidence points to them being linked. Fans have speculated that Sable and TRYKS are connected, and I think that theory has merit. That said, I also believe she would make a fantastic killer.

Those fans only speculate so purely out of visual similarities and nothing more, something that's not enough to prove anything concrete.

  • Similarities =/= Two seperate things being one and the same. This frankly is no different from the people who claim that Skull Merchant was supposed to be Predator originally, just because of a few certain aspects between both characters being similar.

    • A single cosmetic with a hairbun means nothing, it's a common hair style and it's not even Sable's default hairstyle.
    • Hair covering the eye is so completely far-fetched as a evidence that it's just laughable really. I guess anyone who's hair is covering their eye must mean they're someone else also.
    • The moon symbol (for a single cosmetic mind you), does not match Tryk's moon symbol, they're have a different round shape from each other.
    • Sable's eye color is not the exact same color as Tryks' when comparing in-game, however the eye color proof doesn't even matter since Tryks has two entirely different eye colors.
    • Also the names aren't even the same, one is Jezabel while the other is Sable. The names are not anagrams and moving the letter around doesn't create any new meaning to them.
    • And again, their facial structures are not the same when comparing. Same way that Skull Merchant and Trickster has facial structures that are similar to one another, but are not entirely the same as each other.

None of your points are concrete proof of anything, it's all nothing more than just pure speculations on your part.

  • Tryks wouldn't fit as a Survivor or Killer. Also just because the word able is in both their names, doesn't mean they're the same character, especially as they have two entirely different facial structures when actually compared to one another.

Maybe that's why I like it, It was way creepier and less rock and roll

It's the opposite for me, ptb feels more like something one would vibe out to, while live feels scarier and more chaotic, just like Silent Hill 2's ost is with its use of industrial tools for instruments.

Even the Pyramid head one from his PTB? It was way better than current one we have

The current one fits PH better though, as it has more of a Silent Hill 2 vibe to it. Compared to the ptb one, which had more of a Silent Hill 1 vibe to it.

  • I haven't tried her yet, however due to the state she's in, i'll wait with playing as her until she's balanced out more.

  • Only if it's a separate variant of Coldwind and that it doesn't remove daytime Coldwind.

If it means losing current Coldwind and being stuck with that god awful yellow colored piss filter the realm originally had, then it's a hard no.

  • DBD moved away from being a hide and seek game, because the players stopped treating the game as such. Trying to bring that aspect back won't make the game healthier.

Also, it doesn't matter if it's early DBD or current DBD, repetitiveness always kills any sense of dread and tension.

Frankly, there's room for both daytime and night time maps in this game, as horror doesn't only just take place during night time. Although with that said, i'm glad DBD moved away from how old Coldwind looked and if we ever get a night time variant of that realm again, i hope they don't bring back that yellow piss filter color tint it had.

Correct me if Im wrong but it seems to me that you simply dont want him because they cant do a 1/1 portrayal of him in game, in which case none of the licensed killers are. I also cant recall anywhere in the game where it says he doesnt have access to said form in his final itteration. Even if he doesnt, I dont think many people would complain if he would have access to it in game since its still pretty faithful to the original material and we dont see him enough in his final form to know if he has any other abilities. I also see you bring up Pyramid Head a lot and I have yet to hear a single complaint of him being unfaithful in the 5+ years since he's been added into the game.

Also you thinking he isnt interesting enough is fair, thats your opinion. But you gotta admit that to set up an entire game around a character, even giving him an alias and probably one of the coolest designs only to make him a Trapper skin, is such a wasted opportunity for a chapter. Thats not even mentioning the survivors. Linda couldve been our first elderly female survivor.

You're missing the point, i'm not saying i don't want him, i'm saying that i don't believe there isn't enough going for him in TCOFS alone, that would warrant making him his own killer, and that the only way for him to actually justify making him one, would be to take creative liberties in giving him an actual main power, like they did with Pyramid Head.

We don't know if he does or doesn't retain his spectral aspects, i'm making the assumption based on empirical evidence that he doesn't have those abilities because A: He never uses any powers in his final form and is purely just being an M1 Killer and B: He's never shown going back to his spectral essence form after achieving his final form.

I'm bringing Pyramid Head up because without bhvr taking creative liberties with his powers, he would just be an M1 killer as well. The point was the fact that both characters are in a similar situation in terms of powers and both require the same solution to work.

As for people complaining about faithfulness, i have a better examples to pick from actually, such as Freddy, Wesker, Pig, Ghostface, Nemesis, Xenomorph, Springtrap, Chucky & most recently, Myers with his Slaughtering Strike rework. The only reason people wouldn't give a damn about how faithful Frank Stone would potentially be, is because barely anyone cares about him in comparison to the other iconic licensed characters. Also i did once see someone complain about Pyramid Head being unfaithful to his portrayal in Silent Hill 2.

1.Please don't twist my words, i specifically said and i quote ''I don't think Frank have anything unique enough going for him gameplay wise'', that does not mean Frank as a character isn't interesting to me or that i don't want to see him added in-game at all. Just that (to repeat my previous point above) i don't believe he has enough to him in terms of gameplay that would justify making him his own killer, exactly because of his lack of an actual power in his final form to adapt into DBD's gameplay.

Even as a Specter and his abilities while in that state, other existing Killer powers already do everything he does in some way or form, and i'd rather save the roster slots for actual unique and distinctive powers, rather than for more Killers with rehashed powers.

    -

2.BHVR have not once made a full chapter based on something they owned, there was never any reason to assume TCOFS would be treated any differently. Also i'm perfectly fine with not getting Linda, Sam, Chris, Maddie or any of the characters as their own Survivors, as it just means we can get them as skins like Frank and save ourselves more perk clutter.

The only downside in my eyes with not getting a TCOFS chapter, is that we're not getting the Ceda Hill Steel Mill as a map, but that's about it.

    -

3.It's not like him being a Trapper skin takes anything away from how we see him in TCOFS, as again, he is portrayed as an M1 killer who never uses any actual powers during his final form. If you replaced Frank with Trapper in that game, you wouldn't even notice any difference, outside of the part where he absorbs people and stab himself to silence them in his body.

I mean if were gonna go that route you can even say the same for the large majority of unlicensed killers.

Doctor wasnt going around shocking people the way he does in game and hitting them with a big stick. His old flavor text for his power was "Is it a gift, or a curse? The Entity has ignited a corrupted and inexhaustible spark in the Doctor's heart which allows him to generate electroconvulsive power at will". His story suggests that all he was before the Entity intervened, was a guy who liked to torture people with electricity.

Frank Stone has a foundation with projection like Doctor had with electricity, and it doesnt need to be a simple teleport. He could show projections of himself which gives off different effects or even project something else entirely, and it could be countered using a camera. (Maybe even something similar to a Unknown where he places these projections and he can take control of them for a short time, and this time could be cut even shorter when hit with a camera?)

There is so much more that could be done for him instead of just being "man with machete". He has his killer alias already being "The Champion" and they already have a full story fleshed out for him. Its such a waste to simply make him a Legendary.

Except the difference is that both Frank Stone and licensed characters (aside from half original ones like Ghostface), have an existing portrayal from outside the game, that DBD have to adapt into gameplay in a faithful manner. You don't have that with all the other unlicensed characters.

Also since you wanna bring up lore, Frank in his final form doesn't have access to his spectral form or any of the abilities that came with it and unlike The Entity with Doctor, Augustine manifested a version of Frank's essence that, while supernaturally changed visually, is still just nothing more than an M1 killer, just like he was in his human form. Unlike with Doctor, who was changed by The Entity, from his human form and into how he is now with a clear cut ability to go along with it.

Also those projections as you call them, isn't projections, but Frank in his spectral form teleporting around. Something he, again, wouldn't have access to in his final form, since he's pretty much reduced back into a "man with machete" in that form, which he became before being taken by The Entity.

Which is why, any power you give to him would, just like with Pyramid Head, be an entirely creative liberty for a character's power, that would be taken from outside the source material portrayal, and why exactly, you can't do that much with him without deviating from his portrayal in TCOFS.

Also just in general, i don't think Frank have anything unique enough going for him gameplay wise, that would justify making him his own Killer.

  • Bummer.

Was hoping that the Spirit skin and the Houndmaster's pirate skin would win.

I’d honestly disagree, I feel like you can create a pretty unique power for Frank Stone cause there’s kind of a lot that we see in the game that can give us an idea of what to design his power around.

    1. he clearly has counter play in the form of the Camera
    2. Him projecting himself as a form of mobility
    3. he kinda already has Chase music in the game once he’s actually in Augustine‘s mansion
    4. he has some of the best lore by dbd standards, but I feel like that’s kind of expected since its a story focused game.
    5. and bro even has a mori when he kills Sam in Augustine‘s mansion

he basically has damn near everything to classify as a killer aside from an actual power, which I feel like they could definitely design one for him.

Everything we've seen him do in TCOFS is far from unique, since we already have other characters do those things already.

he clearly has counter play in the form of the Camera

Unknown type counterplay but with a super8 camera instead.

Him projecting himself as a form of mobility

His projecting/teleporting while being in his spectral essence form would either just be A: Another teleport to specific points on the map type power, B: Another variant of Wraith's invisibility and Sadako's manifestation/demanifestation, or C: Be a 2.0 of Nurse's power, all depending entirely on how it is adapted in DBD. All in all, would be far from unique in the end.

he has some of the best lore by dbd standards, but I feel like that’s kind of expected since its a story focused game.

I have to disagree with that sentiment. To me, there are better lores for other characters in the game compared to Frank Stone's. His lore to me is decent, but nothing i would call spectacular.

I feel like the reason you're giving his lore more credit, is mainly because it has an entire seperate game for it to be focused and built on.

he basically has damn near everything to classify as a killer aside from an actual power, which I feel like they could definitely design one for him.

You'll just end up with the above powerwise, which i'd hardly call that unique.

The only way for Frank to have an actual unique power imo, would be for bhvr to take creative liberties and give him something entirely new as his main power, that wasn't seen in TCOFS.

Also we're most likely gonna get Frank consuming people as his mori with the coming skin of his final form, since Visceral Rarity cosmetics are a thing now.

pixel bush is a complete clown and that’s saying a lot cause we have a clown on the killers roster

Same, but for both Choy and Pixel, although between the two, it's mostly with Choy for me.

  • Maybe with rehashed abilities, but not with being portrayed as an m1 killer, aside from maybe Pyramid Head & Ghostface.

Every other killer have been portrayed in their source material with clear cut aspects of their characters or clear cut abilities that made them stand out as being more than just that of an m1 killer.

Outside of what we've seen from Frank Stone in TCOFS, he doesn't really have any other additional and clear cut abilities that can be translated into a power. So any additional abilities outside of teleportation in spectral form would have be entirely creative liberties on bhvr's part.

  • Gonna play devil's advocate here, having Frank Stone in his final form as a legendary skin, doesn't really take anything away from his portrayal in TCOFS, as all we saw him as, was just being an m1 killer.

Hell, throughout the entire game, he's pretty much just an M1 killer, who we never see perform any kind of special ability.

Even his spectral form never did anything special outside of teleporting around and being vulnerable to the camera absorbing his essence when filming him with it. Even with just the teleporting around part for a power, it wouldn't be anything more than just rehashing existing elements from other killer powers.

Apparently, they listen to feedback volume when it's a hundred alt accounts with single digit lifetime posts spamming ai slop all over every forum here.

I thought all of that was against forum rules, and it's clearly stated in the forum rules, but apparently, that's what it takes to get them to change the patch notes.

I don't think AI posts on here is the sole reason for their decision.

They've stated before more than once, that they don't just look at a single site only, but across multiple. So places like Reddit, Tiktok, Twitter, the official forums, Youtube, Steam discussions, etc.

Thanks for sharing! I see your points, but I think TRYKS as a killer could bring something fresh and unique to DBD - like Harley Quinn, who became a recurring fan favorite (only debuting in the Batman animated series, originally intended for a single episode) after strong reactions. Her twisted personality could inspire new mechanics and interactions.

I also love the idea of her appearing on DBD’s birthday each year. It could be a fun tradition. Whether as a seasonal event, a killer, or a map entity, the key is keeping her twistedly twisted energy alive in the game!

30 voice lines gone to waste, no way!?

    https://youtu.be/tJa2Tc5Dspk?si=rGFrevKZ9EVzCnPZ

If they're gonna add Tryks back in, it should be in a way that fits the character.

Tryks/The Mad Designer/Jezabel/Lady Zzl Tryks is an eccentric artist responsible for creating various journals, sketches, and drawings in the Chamber of Blood. Some are shown to depict events in the future, where others depict scenes from different realities, while others are simply absurd creations which she manifests. She's capable of controlling the Entity’s Realm to some extent, with the ability to manipulate dimensions and manifest thoughts.

The only way to capture all of that, is by keeping her purely as a map npc.

It is that simple though. We know how these things work because the community has dealt with them due to the inaction of BHVR.

When Chandler represented Otz's solution, which again we know would work because we've seen it work before, they talked over him and shut him down, acting like he (and Otz) had no idea what they were talking about.

Again, i don't believe it is that simple, nor did that part of the livestream to me, come off as how you describe it as.

Disagree with me all you want, but i simply just don't see either of those moments the way you describe them as.

If no one made an uproar about the changes, they would have just been pushed live.

Yes, but that's not what i replied to.

People genuinely believed that bhvr would go through with these changes as they were, regardless of people's feedback.

    It is more like this.

BHVR allows this DDoS'ing thing to happen. They gaslight the community by saying that they found no evidence of it ever happening. Content Creators continue to deal with the obvious DDoS'ing with zero help from BHVR. Eventually, they find workarounds and ways to counteract the bad actors without BHVR's help.

Then BHVR runs a livestream. It then gets DDoS'd. One of the CC that was most affected steps in with a proven solution to fix the issue. Not only do they shut him down, but they also actively sabotage the people who tried to fill the lobby and stop the DDoS'ing and straight-up interrupt and seemingly belittle their special guest in Chandler.

It isn't that it happened to Otz, even if it was some random it would be bad, but that it happened to someone that they supposedly value and trust enough to be a Consultant, Fog Whisperer and on a huge livestream, is absolutely diabolical levels of incompetence.

Thing is, i don't believe it's that simple nor that it was a case of them being actively trying to lie to anyone. Because there's usually more going on in the background of things than what the public is aware of.

Also i know people say that they belittled Chandled, but that's not what it sounded like to me when i listen to that audio bit, so much so the idea of him being belittled feels like the community blowning it out of proportion instead, because they're already upset over the ddos thing to begin with.

Even if it wasn't Otz, it doesn't change that some people took that whole situation to an extreme level, just because it was Otz.

  • @cogsturning said:

No one saw that coming, no sir.

Except for all the doomposters on reddit, twitter, youtube, etc, who was absolutely dead certain that bhvr would be pushing the changes from ptb to live as they were no matter what, regardless of feedback.

  • Tryks should not be a Survivor nor a Killer, as neither roles would fit her character.

If she is to be added back, she should fit much more as a map entity in some way or form instead. Maybe something that has a chance of spawning on any map perhaps.

A severe grain of salt at that. I know Almo was a dev, and I say this respectfully, but his gameplay particularly on killer wasn't necessarily the greatest.

I don't believe one needs to be great at the game, to be able to balance it properly or make good changes to it, as the former does not exclude the latter. As one can have a good understanding of something, without necessarily having practiced it. However i do believe having an open mind to feedback and to the idea of potentially being wrong about something, and then changing it to be something better, is just as important- if not more so for game health in general.

My main problem and why always take things Almo says with a grain of salt, is because of his attitude whenever someone tries to argue against him on something.

Everytime i saw him on a dev stream, or engage with him on one of his personal twitch streams or on his discord, he more often than not had this air of superiority around him. How when someone was being critical or disagreed with something he did or said, he'd always give some type of know-it-all answer on why people were actually wrong in what they're saying or thinking.

At least, that is what my experience with him has been, whenever i've observed him and engaged with him.

Oh Otz is the worst at this. I saw his gameplay in some of the hardcore survivor challenges and my god I get why he prettymuch only plays killer. He's uh… well he's good at killer don't get me wrong and he has good points every now and then but he's got some pretty bad takes more often than not and his fans take everything he says as the gospel truth.

Then i trust you understand my annoyance with his insufferable fans repeating the whole ''devs rudely shut down otz and ignore his solution during TWD Chandler stream that would have 100% worked without flaws''

Like i'm not gonna defend how bhvr handled that entire situation, however i've seen people take that situation to the extremes and basically treating not taking Otz's suggestion as some kind of unforgivable mortal sin that bhvr must burn on a pyre for, because nobody is ever allowed to go against Otz in any way it seems.

  • @Foggyguy said:

Anything anyone says should be taken with a grain of salt. I love streamers like JRM and can slightly respect Otz but no one is above criticism and everyone has terrible takes now and then.

Tell that to the legions of Otz worshippers, who deify Otz and puts anything he says on a pedestal as some kind of gospel truth, who will crucify anyone who dares to even mildly disagree with his opinion or go against the popular opinion about him or what he says.

How anytime Otz feels or says something negative, people blow it up as some kind of objective truth and how it's over for DBD due to Otz being the end all, be all for this game according some people.

I'm exaggerating a bit with what i'm saying, but my main point is that despite what you're saying is correct, it isn't something a big online portion of the community is known to do in general.

  • Anything Almo says should be taken with a grain of salt.

  • The lore is probably my second favorite part of this game, to me both the whole concept behind the lore and almost all of the stories in the lore are either good or great, with most of it being decently written as well.

Danny's own lore in DBD itself has him hiding in cupboards/closets to stalk his victims. Would be fun if they allowed that ingame.

I was mainly focusing on the taunting and calling the Survivors via a phone parts, as those goes against how Danny works as Ghost Face when killing people.

Hiding in a locker would fit his character yes, although i'm not sure what benefit it would give him doing that, outside of stalking Survivors from it.

  • Except this isn't Scream's Ghostface, it's DBD's Ghost Face, and giving him a power that is akin to how Ghostface behave in Scream wouldn't fit Danny's character whatsoever.

Ghostface's current power perfectly reflects what kind of character DBD's version of Ghostface is and how he approaches and kills his victims. He's not supposed to be and do like the Ghostfaces in the Scream movies.

  • @SoGo said:

    I am just asking why.

Why would you change a killer that most agreed was the highlight of old DbD design?

Most also agreed that Myers and Trappers were both bottom tiers, in comparison to every other killer, and no amount of number buffs were gonna change that.

There's only so much one can do with the power he had, without reworking it entirely.

  • @Memesis said:

I was hoping for a model update and proper licensed lobby music. I don't understand why this rework was so high priority without any of those included. Most would agree Myers was in a good spot after his recent buffs (minus the iri nerf)

Except Myers was consistently seen as one of the weakest Killers of the bunch, next to Trapper. I wouldn't call that being in a good spot.

Also there's no reason to assume any of the fully license characters will ever get new music, at this point i don't see it realistically ever happening, unlike with a model update, since we know those are at least possible.

  • @TMCalypso said:

They had The Backrooms on a survey, though I have no idea how the licensing works with that.
