Also i wish that Trickster and MiNA had specific in-trial voicelines towards Tae-Young and Yun-Jin the way Dracula have voicelines for the different Castlevania Survivors.
Feels kinda weird that neither of the Tricksters have such voicelines, and that MiNA only have voicelines towards Tae-Young in the menu.
-
Realistically i doubt it. However, there technically is nothing that's stopping them from doing multiple versions of the same legendary or visceral character skin.
-
The cosmetic system in general needs a overhaul, as we already have several other legendary/visceral characters who have cosmetic potential that's not being realized. (Springtrap's Yellow Rabbit legendary, Naughty Bear and RE Survivor legendary skins specifically comes to mind.)
MiNA is just the latest in a long list of characters of such to be added.
-
3 banger lobby tracks in one chapter + a full kpop music video.
Michel F. April never misses.
-
Tae-Young created MiNA because Mightee One commissioned him to make her for them, so they could replace Trickster with her. Also she's more of a true AI (the type that only exist in a sci-fi) rather than an LLM gen ai, as she both gain sentience and goes rogue on her own.
Also if you actually read his lore, you'd know that Tae-Young is more interested in Eun-Ji than MiNA.
-
Her run/walk animation isn't an exact copy and paste from Trickster, they're just very similar.
Still, it make sense for her to act like Trickster, since MiNA in the lore is an AI, the type only seen in a sci-fi. She's a virtual idol (similar to something like Hatsune Miku) who's based off of Trickster directly, who mimics his behavior and style, since she was created with the intention of replacing him. However she eventually gain sentience and goes rogue.

I'd argue frank fontaine, while a massively integral character storyline wise, doesn't really get much screen time. Aside from voice lines and recordings you see him very briefly a couple times in his atlas guise and once as the boss. While cool it isn't really iconic. Whereas the big daddy is a massive touchstone for bioshock. It's the face of the game and has a super unique look that's recognisable even by people who've never touched the series. Each to their own at the end of the day, but I'm sure if bioshock got multiple chapters the big daddy would be the go to first chapter killer, maybe an alpha series.
I know? That's why i specifically said and i quote ''if there ever were to be more than one BioShock chapter, a Big Sister killer & Frank Fontaine in his final boss form would be the go to''
Big Daddy would obviously be the go to choice for the first chapter, i was specifically talking about which character would be most likely for any sequel chapter, and those two would be a more likely choice to be picked than any of the regular enemies.
-
Increase his movement speed.
Also a shame we can't have multiple skins for Legendary and Visceral characters. Cause it'd be great if we were able to customize characters like MiNA to the same degree as one can customize base characters.
-
Don't think i have one, despite having played DBD since day 1.

Fair enough. I mean it feels like a very specific distinction. Main questions are: will it be popular enough to sell, is it cool and can it work mechanically? Answer to all is probably yes
There's still a difference between choosing the poster boy of a franchise as a killer and choosing any other regular enemies to be killers. One is obviously going to sell better than the rest due to brand recognition.
Xenomorph is the face of the Alien franchise. Demogorgon is the most well known character of Stranger Things pretty much, and Big Daddy is the poster boy of BioShock.
Hell, the reason Wesker got in after Nemesis, is because he's not only the most well known antagonists of Resident Evil, but also a central villain in it. The same would also apply to characters like Andrew Ryan and Frank Fontaine for BioShock specifically, as they're both central franchise villains in it, just like Wesker is for RE.
So logic would suggest that, if there ever were to be more than one BioShock chapter, a Big Sister killer & Frank Fontaine in his final boss form would be the go to, due to both being the more well known characters like the Big Daddy is.

Idk the xeno and demo are definitely powerful "grunt" enemies that would be roughly on par power level with a big daddy. Neither of them are a specific character could be any random xenomorph or demogorgon pulled from another realm.
Fontaine endboss is an interesting shout. Personally i prefer the big daddy, more spooky and iconic. But having a naked mutated adonis looking dude flinging plasmids about would be fun.
Was actually replying to the guy above who i forgot to add the reply box in my previous message, but anyway.
Xenomorph and Demo are still both central characters to their source materials. The former being the main antagonist of the first Alien movie, which is with confirmation where the Xeno in DBD is taken from. The latter is also the main antagonist of season 1 of Stranger Things, which while not directly confirmed, i assume is also where Demo in DBD based on.
Even if they're grunts in terms of their overall franchise in of themselves, they're still central characters compared to other of their kinds in later movies & seasons.
-
The removal of intro flavor text from perk descriptions sours the change for me personally, especially when people was pretty vocal about not wanting it to be removed.
Seriously, add it back. It added to the immersion.
-
I think regular enemies do work as killers. A lot of people are happy with the idea of a Big Daddy killer, and they're just enemies for the most part.
The thing is, all of the Killers we have in DBD aren't grunt enemies. They're all central characters to their respective source materials, each to various degrees.
Even a Big Daddy plays a more prominent role throughout the franchise compared to the rest of the cast of enemies encountered, hell you even play as one in the 2nd game. It's only surpassed by central characters important to the stories of the games.

I'll only accept if we get Threequel where there's a BioShock Infinite chapter
Imo, the only character from Infinite that would really work as a Killer is Atlas/Frank Fontaine, specifically when he is in his final boss form from BioShock 1. Every other character are either just too much of a regular enemy to feel like they fit as a Killer or cannot be adapted properly without requiring too many liberties to be taken, in order to work in DBD. (I'm looking at you Songbird.)
-
Unironically Fortnite, but only just as a single legendary skin of Jonesy for Dwight.
-
For an anniversary as important as year 10 and Jason Universe being a thing, only Jason will make sense to choose for such an occasion.
While others like IT, The Thing, Candyman & Predator are all highly requested, none of them frankly holds a candle to Friday the 13th in terms of cultural importance and significance, especially to the slasher subgenre that DBD is based on. Jason is THE gold standard of slasher horror and probably one of the last remaining big slasher icons with said cultural importance not in the game yet.

I mean, I'd use it in chase. Great for mindgames. Instead of a killer just stopping in place for a few seconds, it adds a level of vertically to it. Ghostie for example can use stealth mid chase to mindgame. Would be interesting to think the killer is still on your tail only for him to ambush you from above. Naturally, the TR would not go away instantly upon hopping up somewhere (similar to insidious, as you pointed out).
It just adds an option, and there's no harm in giving options. If I had a choice of having a wall ambush and none, regardless of how niche it may be, I will still take the wall ambush.
I'm inclined to disagree. Any Survivor with more than 3 brain cells and a bit of game knowledge will quickly figure out what Xeno is doing, especially as the chase icon around the Survivor portrait will disappear a few seconds after Xeno crawls up in the ceiling.
Plus when was the last time you saw someone use Insidious for mind gaming during chase and get value out of it?
-
I'll only accept a BioShock chapter, if we also get a sequel chapter with Eleanor Lambs from BioShock 2's evil ending as a Killer.
A Big Sister killer would work much better as her own character, especially with how agile they are and all the different Adam abilities they possess. Relegating her to be nothing more than just that of a legendary skin for characters that are only similar in shape and stance, feels like complete squandered potential imo.

Well, yeah, thats the point. Xeno is naturally an ambush killer thematically. Give it a saliva drip tell.
Thematically fitting perhaps, but wouldn't really translate well into gameplay. While Xenomorph is wasting time doing nothing but wait for one of the Survivors who just by chance walks by its exact location, Survivors will in the meantime be working on gens.
Not to mention how half of the maps are outdoor maps, so it's not only a power that waste time and is entirely reliant on Survivors comes by in by chance, but also that Xeno gets a map that's either indoor or has more indoor sections than just shack too.

Yes, I knew this idea had been considered. However, the first suggestion I made was not about climbing walls or ceilings. It was more about a leap onto a wall or a piece of the environment while staying stationary (like Blight's power), followed by a second leap in the direction you're looking, with an attack. That’s actually why I suggested this solution only as a plan B.
I don’t understand your idea. How would a “basement hook aesthetic” improve the Xenomorph?
What exactly does it involve? What’s the goal? The mini-mori is meant to reward the tail attack, just like Vecna’s (Henry) or Michael Myers’ powers. Also, near the exit gate, it adds extra strategic pressure on survivors, who will have to decide whether to save a teammate in danger, at the risk of getting a Facehugger symbol. This strategic aspect fully justifies the presence of the turrets, which are already a significant handicap for the Xenomorph, especially after the many changes and nerfs to its tail attack. Facehuggers will have a real and meaningful role and won’t just be a cosmetic effect on a hook.
Seeing a Facehugger “in action” during a mini-mori at the end of a match will give players and fans a real sense of experiencing Aliens, which goes far beyond a simple aesthetic element that doesn’t strengthen the Xenomorph.
In the Alien films, including Aliens vs. Predator, the Xenomorph lets Facehuggers jump onto their prey when they are nearby.
That’s why I don’t understand your approach, especially since having a Facehugger as a decorative element in the basement doesn’t make any sense: it implies that the survivor already has an Alien inside them and should logically die, even if the Facehugger is removed with a timer.
By aesthetic, i'm talking about decorating the basement as being part of the Xeno hive, with ovomorph eggs placed by the hooks, and that facehuggers latches themselves onto any Survivor who gets hooked down there, and that they fall off when unhooked. Which will cause chestbursters to kill the Survivors on death hook as an animation instead, before being pulled up in the sky by The Entity as usual afterwards. The goal is to be more of an easter egg.
Giving Xenomorph a mini mori akin to other Killers won't ''justify'' the turrets more, because you're still need to get them to death hook and down them like before. Gameplay wise, it doesn't accomplish what you claim it does, because it is still essentially no different than before besides a new death animation at the end when they have the facehugger symbol, which at that point they would have otherwise just have been killed on the hook instead.
I do not believe Xenomorph either needs nor fits having a mini-mori, it makes sense for Myers & Henry to have it due to aspects of their characters that supports giving it to them.
Plus Facehuggers are more of a Xeno Queen thing, than it is a Xeno Drone thing.

For the wall climb, they should have tried wall cling. Use the same coding as the Hux's pods. The xeno can "shoot" itself up to a location then becomes undetectable and cannot move. From there, it can pounce off of the wall injuring any survivoes it hits.
That's basically just Insidious 2.0
-
Wall/Ceiling climbing was originally considered, but was scrapped since the game's design cannot support vertical powers.
Also Facehuggers would work better as a basement hook aesthetic instead of as a mini mori, as Xenomorph already brings the hive with it on all maps, by replacing hooks on all maps with the Nostromo hooks.
-
Probably because it's not a rework, it's a power update.
-
- Legendary skins will never be a thing when bhvr can't profit off from it.
- The Tank makes more sense thematically due to its direct connection to The Sacrifice and Bill's death. Also if Tanks can fit through windows in L4D itself, then there's no reason for it not be able to do so as well in DBD. Tank also requires the least amount of liberties to fit as a Killer.
-
Core DBD used to have a quick switch button that allowed you to go back and forth between Survivor & Killer.
-
Jonah's lore is just kinda boring and a bit above being mediocre imo. It's not bad, but it just doesn't really do a whole lot for me personally. If i were to describe his lore in general, i'd say that it's just okay and nothing more.
WIth that said, the one thing that annoys me, is when i see people calling him a war criminal, when he objectively cannot be classified as one, due to the context of his lore and what actually constitute for someone to become that.

Right, in their original films. The point being made in opposition is that the DBD team addressed this issue years ago with viktor and Suzie, confirming that all characters in DBD are adults. If this still holds, then all characters are 18 and older. The question is has something changed?https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/13a34nj/none_of_the_characters_in_dbd_are_under_the_age/#:~:text=age%20of%2018.-,They%20are%20all%2018%2B.,are%20children%2C%20they%20are%20not
At this point in time, no.
Survivors will never be underage due to legal reasons, and while we've been told that Killers can be underage since they don't get put on hooks, there is currently no killer on the roster who has been directly confirmed to be that.

The Entity is confirmed all-powerful inside its own realm, as it controls everything there and can change, create & destroy whoever, whatever, however it wants in any way whatsoever. With everyone being at its mercy.
Outside its domain however, it's not as powerful, but still increadibly powerful. Enough to do the following.
- Abduct very powerful beings.
- Turn worlds inside out.
- Design apocalypses for different worlds, by just letting whatever monstrosities, manifestations & horrors beyond comprehension from inside the fog, to run amok in whatever world The Entity chooses to let them loose at.
- Calcuating & cunning enough to influence beings into doing things & wait for the right time before acting, as it moves across & beyond time and space itself.
- Continuously corrupt more and more of an entire world's populations over time into committing horrible atrocities, in order to strengthen its own foothold over that world.
- Having bleeds/overlaps automatically spawn from its presence alone in locations on worlds it has been active at, which allows monsters & horrors that lurks in the fog to seep out from it, and into whatever world the bleed was opened at.
- Eventually completely consume and devour whatever world's entire universe & timeline that The Entity is currently at, into it's own realm, along with everything and everyone that is in it.
- etc

I believe it's still this year, and likely not far off. When they dropped the anti-tunnel/slug update, a dev said they're hopeful the upcoming MMR changes help alleviate some of the issues people face. So the fact that it was even mentioned shows it's being worked on.
Then it has to be either on next chapter release after Comeback, on the mid-chapter inbetween that chapter & the anniversary, or on the anniversary itself.

And guess what - still nothing about it in today’s dev stream. So no, it is not happening.
Both the P100 reward & the MMR rework's release dates are slated as both being ''adjusted ETA'' under the Feb & onward part of that roadmap.
So while not scrapped, we don't know when it'll happen or even have a rough idea of when.

Final memory from spirit's story in Tome 20 is what I was referring to. That whole story is the entity corrupting her, but it's manipulating her in a way that makes it seem like she is saving her father from the entity and the blood rage. She dreams of a black serpent devouring her father every night. The serpent is likely a reference to The Black Serpent Society from the Red Crane stories, which is implied to be related to the Black Talon. Final story is her killing her father to "end the cycle" without realizing she is falling into the entity's hands. This recontextualizes and generally changes her backstory a lot.
More blatant example I should have brought up was Jane. In tome 22, the way Jane was taken is completely changed. She was publicly investigating the disappearances of people taken by the entity. In response, the Black Talon she was set up her up by forcing her into doing a story in a location with a bleed, resulting in her getting taken and by extension silenced. Way she got taken is completely different in her bio, having been taken while driving to her fathers amidst an emotional wreck involving a public disaster on her show involving her estranged mother.
Another retroactive change off the top of my head is the story from Wraith's tome. His tome tells the story of his village being massacred by mercenaries working Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War. This was retconned in a later tome, stating that those mercenaries had nothing to do with the civil war and were hired by the Black Talon to seize a bleed that existed within the village's well. Though perhaps that was intended more as a twist than a retroactive change.I've read most of the tome lores thank you.
Also those are entirely just your own interpretations of those lores, rather than objectively confirmed retcons.
We don't know if Spirit "intentionally gave herself up to the entity to avoid her father getting taken", since we don't know reason why she drops the sword in her dream at the end of her tome story before getting swallowed whole, as it is never explicitly made clear nor even stated why in the story, meaning we're only left with assumptions & speculations to go on as to why she did it.
The images in Jane's tome doesn't confirm that she was taken by The Entity then and there, all we see is that she runs out of the prison with fog coming out of the door, nothing more. It is also much more likely that she only temporarily entered a bleed while in the prison, that was left from when The Entity took either Zarina or Caleb there. Same way the group of friends in the story ''Survivor Statement. Sean Dint.'' from tome 6 temporarily entered a bleed and got attacked by The Oni.
I do not remember which tome talks about the mercenaries from Wraith's tome, but what you're stating doesn't sound like a retcon.
As i said, the tome lores are intended to be tied to the base character's lores, with all the multiverse stuff being tied to the npc tomes exclusively.
-
@CatManThree said:
Theyve sort of done retcons via tomes, but tome stories are technically of individual versions of a character rather than a global thing. Like Spirit intentionally giving herself up to the entity to avoid her father getting taken (which was stupid) was a thing in a tome.
They're not individual versions, they are stories tied to the playable versions of the characters. Anything multiverse related is specifically within the NPC tomes only.
Most of the tomes don't really retcon anything either. The only tome i can think of retconning a base lore is Legion, but that's about it.
Also Spirit didn't give herself up to avoid her father getting taken, don't know where you're getting that from, because that's not what happens in her tomes.

no , lore accurate cases only. they can deal with it.
Doesn't matter if you want it for lore accurate cases only.
Fact of the matter is, by even making it a thing in the first place, you give people a justification to be pushing for more than just lore accurate cases to double up.
There is no reason to assume it won't happen, because it will and bhvr will eventually relent, like they always do when there is enough demand for something.

I mean I agree, it sucks when you're game goes down the drain you waited for, I just think taking away that kind of agency from players would backfire.
I just don't know what a good solution would be, for AFK a ready check would go a long way but friendly killers are just people trying to have fun, it's rare you encounter them but the queues are really long so the frustration is understandableI've encountered at least 5 of them today and all they do is ruin my games. They exactly should take away such agency from that mode specifically
For a mode like 2v8, being friendly has a bigger impact on the fun of others than in 1v4 and therefore, has an actual justification for being a reportable offense.
-
