so you're basically saying because a killer is getting slightly adjusted you want to punish people who play games with their friends? Doesn't sound very nice at all.
Don't act like survivors and the devs are nice with how the viable killers are being butchered and made "less fun"
-
Any nerf whatsoever to a killer that can be beaten by a good survivor team is a huge deal. Apparently survivors can have all the fun they want, relaxed on discord, goof off doing whatever, make a couple of smart plays here and there, but a killer can't have the slightest advantage at a window with a killer that has special powers or use an expensive addon and have fun with it. I'm not even a spirit main and I find it appalling.
-
As survivor, I still haven't seen a nurse that won. In one game, she finally caught someone at the end and then camped them. She got off, DS'ed her, and everyone escaped. BHVR should be ashamed for ruining this killer, a killer once feared is now a laughing stock. I have had absolutely no fear against any nurse since the nerf.
Survivors love the nurse so BHVR is claiming job well done!

Skill isn't something you can filter for, the closest you can get is rank. When we're talking about red ranks, you'll have a mix of high skilled and average players, yes. This goes both ways though. You'll have some survivors that are great, you'll have others that make you wonder how they're even there. Likewise, you'll have some killers that are fantastic, and you'll have others that run four slowdown perks on the best killers and don't manage to get a hook until two or three generators go off. There's a bit of it on both sides and it all averages out.
Even so, it's not the be-all end-all. Again, the stats are not everything. We do our research.
Your research will tell you to make all killers 1v1 capable, regardless of the skill on the killer side. I see the trend. Addons on nurse that make her normal speed without her power. Why is her ultra rare so bad that I would never ever use them? It's very sad you made nurse into something survivors love and what nurses hate.
-
@Peanits said:
Those stats did not consider rank. If you took a look at the Nurse before at all ranks, she was the weakest killer by a large margin- something I think we can all agree was not the case. Meanwhile, if you were to check her stats in red ranks on PC, you'd see that she would average more than three kills per match. This is why we don't balance based on data alone, and also why we urge you not to draw conclusions from those stats.
Peanits, I believe your data at red ranks is polluted and is not reliable because you have a lot of experienced nurses decimating survivors that make their way to red ranks for the 1st time. Also, why look at it strictly from a killer perspective? What about highly skilled survivors versing average killers (nurses for example)? An average nurse would in no way win against a good survivor team, even before the nerfs. The nerf was unfair.

If someone is a godlike Leatherface, this will not make Leatherface get nerfed. If certain individuals are good with a Killer, this does not mean that the Killer is overperforming.
But Spirit is really a Killer which does not need that much effort to be played, but has a huge outcome. I would call that overperforming, when you just have to have ears. Because, I have ears.
Iron Will begs to be used. Sit down that adrenaline, we know you use it expecting to get the gens done every time

I think keys are fine, just use franklins if its a big deal. They are harder to see and they'll waste time looking for it instead of working on a gen.
-
Please do. The hitbox is more like a semi truck. A hatchet 20 ft above my head shouldn't connect.
-
The cooldown puts a hard cap on her potential. You're better off learning Spirit. She is a lot easier to learn and gives similar results. Her add-ons are also miles ahead of nurses.
-
She wasn't fun silly goose !!! Use the addon to make them scream and the one that turns her into a loopable killer. I heard SWF loves those add-ons.

There is nothing to adapt. If you can't blink, you can't blink. There is no skill to gain from that. It's just a "limitation" placed upon the killer so good survivors are guaranteed to win now.
-
Something to think about...
What popular streamers main nurse? How many popular survivor mains hated nurse?
There is Huntress mains (plenty of them) and there is a lot of Billy mains, and a few others.
Remember when they tried to make the Huntress hitboxes more fair for survivors? Was it reverted?
-
Well let's see. The devs changed it so all SWF members are paired with the highest possible ranked killer and then they nerfed a red rank viable killer. They crashed their own system.
Neither change should have occured.

I blame the devs 101%. They push updates continuously that marginalizes their playerbase which induces toxic behavior.

I'm really confused but what does any of this have to do with anything? You're bringing up the strength of Spirit which had nothing to do with the video.
Also my YouTube revenue goes to my editor.
I was making a comparison of the strength of survivors and Spirit and why she doesn't need nerfed. When she gets "looked" at by the devs then she'll be dead alongside the nurse.

Yes, but that's clearly not why he made that video. To show how disingenuous he is, I watched him a little a long time ago and he was stream sniped with Huntress and they all got out and teabagged him at the exit gates. He was stream sniped by the same SWF and he used Spirit with a Mori out of revenge because he was pissed. It was funny seeing him barely killing them all. They were down to 1 gen and he supposedly played the most OP killer with a mori. And here he claims this killer is unfair with how strong survivors "can potentially be". Hilarious.

Nurse nerf isn't bad at all if you know how to use her. I can understand why people hate her because she is the most annoying killer to use (minus legion). However, she still function like the same so she Is still top tier if u ask me.
The nerf on spirit can't be that bad. They should just make it so a survivor knows if she is phasing and how close or far she is from the surivior. Don't u think allowing a killer that stand still and doesn't give any feedback when she is or us not using her power is broken? I won't use the word overpowered, but a killer that only needs a good headphone to be good at and doesn't give any feedback during a chase just makes it unfun to play against.
She's only top tier if you theoritically never miss your blinks. In reality even good nurses miss, nobody is perfect. I can't tell you how many times I've lost because I was in a situation and because I didn't have 2 blinks right away, the survivor got to another LOS area, then when I finally got a perfect hit they used dead hard. What was the 3 other survivors doing? Doing gens. She's now way too hard to learn with too little reward.
You want Spirit changed so the survivor is the power role again. This is what I love about Spirit, the survivor is "not controlling" the chase. Any slight changes to her and she'll be gone from red ranks too.
-
Nothing to see here. If it's not Huntress, he doesn't have a problem with something being nerfed as long as he can sell a few clicks on a video.
-
@Zoldyar said:
We need to make things straight on what's balance and what isn't.
First off, to use Spirit doesn't take much skill at all. The spirit has multiple skills to track suriviors such as noise, scratch marks and collision. To allow a powerful killer that doesn't require much skill shouldn't be allowed because it makes the game unfair for suriviors who has been playing for a long time.
Secondly, using spirit grants killers access to win chases in Less than a minute. This is because if the killer is standing still on the pallet you are trying to loop her in. How is a surivior meant to tell if she is faking phasing or is phasing? This pretty much makes it so she has zero counter because there is nothing the surivior can do but play a guessing game and hope the spirit is terrible.
Thirdly, by the killer over performing shows how that compared to other killers such as Freddy, Nurse and Hibiily. She has been the one who done better than the rest of them. You understand what that means for a killer to be doing better than a nurse, right? It shows how easy she is to use and how easy it is to win games with her. The devs has stated in their stream that for a killer to be powerful such as a nurse it must take alot of time and skill involve. So for a killer to not only do better than a nurse, but also has a way higher number of users doing better just shows how broken she is.
Fourthly, you speak of red ranks as if killers such as Freddy, Hilbilly, Nurse, Huntress, Demogorgon and other killers that can apply map pressure can't win. I thought the surivior side was worst, but sometimes you killers like to act as if you are always kept at the bottom when the devs have clealry gave you strong killers that can win games.
Fifthly, killers and suriviors will always keep getting nerf so stop complaining when killers get a nerf as if a surivior hasn't. Obviously, the more weaker surivior have become, the more stronger a killer gets. So they have to figure out a way to balance both side carefully (somehow they fail at it most of the time. Take legion as an example).
Moreover, your whole point of people using spirit because that's the only way to win is very untrue. Muitple killers have the ability to win at red rank games. It's just that most killers don't take their time to learn how to properly use killers such as Hilbilly and choose to use an easy one like spirit.
Furthermore, to counter a spirit u have to run perks such as iron will, but how is a surivior meant to know their killer would be a spirit? Not only that, but perks such a stridor cancels iron will and juking them can only work in low ranks. Spirit has many things at hand that can make juking her almost imposible. Don't even get me started on her add ons.
When the maximum performance level of survivors is at 10 and the nurse is at 8 and spirit is at 7, it didn't make very much sense to nerf nurse down to a 5. If spirit is even looked at I wouldn't touch red ranks with a 20 ft pole.
-
Beautiful artwork on a killer that's brown rank capable only. It's a shame I can't spend my money on this.
-
Nurse can be genrushed now and she won't even know what happened. When you can't use your power for half the match then its bad business.

This post is so survivor entitled it bleeds privileged
If I was "survivor entitled" I think I would be happy for the nurse nerf. What are you on because I want some
-
I'll keep it short: killers are not supposed to be powerful. Survivors are the powerrole in DBD. Spirit, Hillbilly need to cautiously standby for their nerfs, all killers will become "skins". Loopable and easily genrushed by SWF.
They want a 50% killrate against potatoes, not good survivors. Devs don't play their game to understand, they look at raw stats and its misleading.
So nurse was nerfed because experienced nurses perched at rank 1 was noobstomping new players that made their way there for the first time. They are balancing their game so skill and experience does not matter on the killer side. If you are a killer, switch to survivor or uninstall. Your feedback to the devs does not matter.
-
Nope, they don't care. Their middle finger is the longest I have ever seen.
-
BHVR nipped it in the bud - tired of hearing survivors whine about a killer actually being the power role. My only advice to killer mains is to say your goodbyes to nurse and learn spirit and use her until she's also ruined. I think she's a little better than nurse now and while still far too weak to apply proper map pressure like the old nurse had against SWF but its the best thing you have now. Billy has a lot better map pressure too. Just do what survivors and BHVR wants you to do, let SWF walk out the gates unscathed and say gg.....or be a survivor! Maybe one day the dev team will wake up when there's no killers at high ranks.
-
The death of Sally proves how much power survivors and SWF have. The real powerrole of DBD. (Gently rests a rose on the grave)

not quite. "it breaks many mechanics of the game, therefore it needs to be changed" would be more fitting.
also, if thats gonna be your argumentation from here on out, i doubt i'll continue this conversation.
No, it doesn't break the mechanics because pallets are not the only mechanic. Nurse is easily beatable with four good survivors, if you don't see that then I have nothing else to say to you.

and you wont hear any "good" argument when you keep ignoring them away.
here is a good argument:
nurses base power allows her to break any mechanics survivors should have during chases to avoid the killer and therefore makes it impossible to escape her.
as i have said before, i wont go into the whole debate of objective times here. that is a whole different topic.
That's a very weak argument. Pallets are not a defense against the nurse. If she was nerfed because she couldn't be 1v1 then DBD is doomed. Remember....SWF needs killers if they want to play. Nerfing a viable killer and making her totally unfun while SWF has a blast is going to mean survivors better have a subscription to netflix.

its been said for years now that nurse is too strong - the devs themselves said that at some point they wanted to nerf her power (that was around the time where survivors were able to pallet stun a nurse mid blink - a nerf that was too much and therefore never made it through).
anyone who looks into her power themselves will come to that conclusion rather sooner than later. there wasnt a huge outcry, yes - however the dev stats show how broken she is. unless you are only committing to genrush her you literally wont stand a chance against her.
now, regarding your "new players" argument... the dev stats also show that she has one of the lowest kill rate in low ranks. with other words, if one complains, its going to be high rank players who have seen good nurses in action. low ranks would not complain about her and call her "perfectly balanced", just because they havent even seen her potential yet.
Those new players get to high ranks eventually and without understanding nurse they have no idea how to juke one because they are addicted to pallets.
Isn't genrushing the objective? You stated you could stand a chance if you genrushed one. When it's not a nurse, survivors can goof off and still win? What is also the difference in genrushing a killer and a nurse killrushing the survivors? A dev posted here one time that trapper had the same killrate as nurse at rank 1. I don't think the nurse nerf was properly justified. I haven't heard a good argument yet.

i think we both know how ridiculous the argument "you will lose against a perfectly coordinated 4 man team with the strongest perks and items" is - that applies to everyone, including old nurse.
again: it takes you 3 seconds longer to catch someone, so instead of catching a survivor within 12 seconds, you'll spend 15 seconds now. huge.
she is still easily able to catch survivors 10 times faster than a Wraith could - and ppl still play Wraith in high ranks pretty efficiently i'd like to add.
not every team, heck not even 1 out of 10 teams is even near as good as you described them. you will still dominate ~9 out of 10 games with ease, there is no reason why that shouldnt be the case. and taking games as an example where literally no one stands a chance against is just ridiculous. this should be used as an argument to increase objective times and not to say killer XY is too weak.
for her add ons, hey you can actually use them now without completely screwing over your muscle memory. they are gimmicky and fun to use, so overall a nice improvement over the old ones.
i do agree that her red add ons are too weak though. like, remove 1 blink to get 105% mms and add 1 blink but not being able to blink through walls is... questionable. at best.
and no. devs are not "trying to kill her" and "only survivors are happy about it". devs are not biased towards one side. they rework all the OP stuff - which includes nurse. also, since you seem to allude to "only survivors being happy about that", i am a killer main and yet here i am, defending the nerf, because i look at the overall games health and not only on one side. i am not saying their timing is perfect, i do believe the big nerfs should only come after survivors are in a fair place and killers in general stand a good chance against them, but the nurse nerfs are certainly needed in the long run.
You basically said it is perfectly OK for those 1 out of 10 SWF teams to be impossible to beat. What if 9 out of 10 nurses might also be sub-optimal which the devs have mentioned she has the lowest killrate until high rank? This nerf is targeted to those that spent hours practicing. Those few nurses, maybe 1 out of 10 stood the tiny, tiny chance against those SWF teams in question. Nerfing the high potential of one side without even considering the other side is illogical.
-

seriously?
if "just dont stop running" would have been the counterplay to her, do you honestly think she would be considered the best killer in the game?
just because she has a base movement speed of 95% does not mean she could be outrun. her blinks allow her for insane map pressure and chase ability and good nurses could basically not be beaten.
please dont act like nurse wouldnt be too strong - because she is this one killer in this game that actually is.
to balance her out they eigther need to nerf her chase / map pressure ability - which they just did (she's still too strong, though she should stay this way until the game itself is better balanced) or buff stealth play so immense that its a viable straetgy, which would kinda suck for other killers, so they went with the first option.
anyone who says "omg they killed her", please look at those "nerf" once more. she literally has to wait 3 seconds before being able to doubleblink again, thats it. good nurses will still dominate their games, they will still catch survivors within a couple of seconds and there will still be very little survivors can actually do against this.
oh and she now has some nice and viable add ons.
Those few seconds adds up quickly against a coordinated team genrushing. When you hook someone and see all 3 on a gen but now you can't get there because you are limited with your map pressure then the new nurse, if they don't change her back, will have to camp and secure kills. Addons were trashed. I can't wait to use the one that makes someone scream at red rank. And a nurse doesn't want to use an addon that takes her power away. Imagine if huntress had an addon that prevented her from using hatchets if she actually hit someone? UR that prevents blinking through walls, meanwhile Huntress has an insta-down UR, Clown has an insta-down UR, Billy has all useful addons, Spirit has all addons that directly help her power, and Myers can actually kill on the spot, etc. If she isn't dead, they are trying to kill her and only survivors are happy about it.

nurse can ignore any defenses Survivors have by default. this is what makes her too strong - which is still the case with current nurse btw, there is just a 3 second delay between your doubleblinks now.
this alone makes her stronger than she should be.
The counter to that is to never stop sprinting, sounds fair to some people. Since that's the survivor meta, there is no surprize the devs nerfed her so all survivors have to do is "continue their meta"

Well obviously, it was my first killer game, so I was at Rank 20 fighting similar rank survivors. Took 2 out early and finished the last two with a 3-gen strategy. And it's not Nurse being easy. It's Nurse being strong. Which she is.
It's also important to note that while I was a newb killer, I wasn't exactly a newb player because I had been playing Survivor for a few weeks by then, so I knew some survivor tricks. I am no master at Nurse, I'm not even a good killer. But Nurse is strong, and its honestly hilarious there are people now toeing the line trying to downplay Nurse and say she isn't strong.
I mean, what the heck people?
These are the kind of people that the devs listened to when they nerfed nurse. Survivor mains that don't play killer at high ranks.

Not really. Imagine if billy had a cooldown. He wouldn't be able to close the gap with a good survivor and then use his chainsaw again before they got to a loop, for example. Same deal with nurse, gets close to survivor, then the survivor gets half way across the map before she has to attempt a long range hit again

I beat SWF with Trapper and I don't even claim to be that good. I destroy SWFs with Spirit. If you can't beat them with a killer who can blink through pallets, walls and floors, you should look more to yourself than the killer.
There are very few groups of survivors that are among the elite who can destroy any killer, so spare me the comparison of those groups to the regular red rank swf.
If they make mistakes, sure, you can win with trapper and any killer but if they set their mind to it, they ARE winning and there isn't a damn thing the killer can do it about it unless they can apply the pressure with nurse. The elites you are talking about can also beat the so-called god nurses. This is why I have the opinion that nurse was perfectly fine. The nerf simply makes it easier so now survivors can goof off a little more and might squeeze in a teabag at the exit gates at the nurse.

She needed the nerf. Any character in any game that is granted their own tier should be brought down a few notches.
The previous Nurse with NO ADD ONS was better than every other killer with their best add ons equipped. Depending on the skill level of the Nurse, I've seen Nurses go with NO PERKS and NO ADD ONS and still get a 4k. Yes, base kit needed a nerf also because she was an OP character. I don't like using the word OP to describe things, but it accurately applied to her pre-nerf in the right hands
And survivors had the potential to be in a tier of their own far above the nurse. This nerf unjustly penalizes those that were good with nurse and secures an ez escape for a 4 man SWF. By your logic, it's time to penalize survivors that are good by increasing gen times.
