  • and now with dedicated servers they come out with a killer that has a literal FPS gun with a crosshair. That'll be fun watching them try to hit that.

  • Bunny Feng just looks like the female Legion. :D

  • I want a morbidly obese survivor tbh. Like clown girth. The size of Jane & Jeff together.

They sound like really survivor sided changes to me. Especially the sabo ones. Those sabo ones really have me worried, sabo crazy survivors are why I quit DBD the first time.

That seemed to have stopped so I started playing again.

So lemme get this right: they buff Trapper, buff Plague, add breakable walls for all killers & nerf Toolboxes and in your ######### head that some how means these are survivor sided changes?

    Jesus Christ.

  • This is a good change. Too many games against Plague were determined by if your teammates would cleanse or not, taking the game out of your hands.

  • @Iron said:

Many of the best streamers use slugging to help keep pressuring. They're just mad at you.

Many of the "best" streamers aren't as good as they think they are. Hexy & Tru3 come to mind.

  • People are never happy.

    That's what's with it.

Hex: Ruin got nerfed, so they move onto the next thing. Guess what? If they nerfed NOED, they would go onto the next thing again, be it Pop Goes the Weasel, or whatever.

It's like people don't want to actually play the game anymore. They want it completely automated where you basically just have to login & that's it. No one wants a challenge. No one wants one game to differ from the next. It's ridiculous.

On top of that, the community is very toxic & these forums & extremely negative & pessimistic. So this is what you get. Constant complaining & calling for things to get nerfed/removed/changed.

No one is talking about buffing something like Slippery Meat. They're talking about what to nerf next.

Complaining about NOED as a Survivor is like complaining about Adrenaline as a Killer, except you can't cleanse totems to get rid of Adrenaline...

Here's a secret: when you read someone saying "nerf NOED!" just pretend those words say "I'm bad" instead. Because that's basically what it is.

  • Just remember, the majority of the time, it's people that still have their parents buy all their ######### for them. Just like when the kids in school would make fun of the kid that didn't have the expensive shoes. Like, that has nothing to do with you kid, that's what your daddy does. Get outta here with that mess.

I don't give a crap about how good or bad someone is in DBD. Wanna impress me? Support a family.

  • Well, it's my favorite map on the game because I'm a huge Halloween fan, but it's definitely Survivor sided. It just needs fixed, I don't want to see it go away entirely.

In that regard, it's not the only map that needs some changes.

  • The reality is the game was 100% just straight up better before dedicated servers. That's the hard truth.

  • When I tuned in it was a dude in broken English trying to explain why the survivor side of getting hit when they're nowhere close to you made sense. Basically "we know it feels bad, sorry - working as intended."

  • AngryPug, EdgarAllanBro, Hexy & Umbra. Get to see both killer & survivor side.

  • I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

If I am running/looping the killer for say, I don't know, let's say 40 seconds. So like half a generator. If I then get downed & hooked & I see your aura of you ducking behind a rock to try to be the first one to get a dehook instead of being on a gen during that time? Yeah, I don't want you as a teammate.

That's the simplest way I can describe it. I call 'em vultures. The "F-you got mine players". They don't care if they "farm" you, they'll dehook you inside terror radius w/out Borrowed Time because, I don't know... they think, you'll magically teleport away or something? I even see this quite often at red ranks.

    Just a lot of greed.

I mean, I run We're Gonna Live Forever. I know about trying to be greedy to get that last stack. Going back during collapse for the save because you would rather get another stack than the 5k for leaving or whatever. But sometimes even when the game just starts out, I'm like "what are you doing???"

Here's a common mistake I see: a person is on the hook. The killer is chasing someone else. The person being chased runs toward the hooked survivor. Making it so the other survivors can't get a safe de-hook.

  • I've heard it suggested before to change the Struggle to Mouse Wheel, so instead of having to keep spamming the same button, you can just scroll to struggle. Maybe try that?

    yeah it is (MegHead cries).

Lithe is not good cuz sometimes you get hit trought the window and what's the point of running away if you're already safe (in places like shack, jungle jyms, god loops....)

Lithe is fine. Taking a hit isn't always the end of the world. You can't even use DH 'til you're hurt, so...

  • @neekocheeko said:

Funny to see people not even watch the video and immediately decide the person who played nurse did so "poorly."

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that people cherry pick videos & make the exact same thread all day long on the forums?

What's next, a thread about how Ruin should not have been nerfed? Or that SWF is too strong? Or that Survivors rely too much on DS, DH or Adrenaline? I know, let's talk about generator speeds!

  • I will say, I have definitely seen more instances of where people 99% the door becoming a detriment to people surviving than being helpful.

I get it, you're trying to wait so that the end game collapse bar doesn't start. But what happens more often than not, is that extra second of opening the door and then having to back track to where the door opens makes the difference between someone surviving or dying - especially if they don't have Dead Hard or they're Exhausted.

Not a fan of that strategy at all. I always open the door all the way & then people have that EGC bar to get out.

  • @Brucecastro81 said:

I'm tired of going trought the survivor but the game says no, its boring, how I am suposed to play the game if I can't even hit someone

Well just wait for them to go through a window & hit them then! Trust me, even if you're 18 meters away, it will still some how connect. Incredible!

  • I would say that Dead Hard is better against The Huntress but overall, I agree that Sprint Burst is better all around. Although that is partially because of dedicated servers, admittedly. Dead Hard is still good for getting space, so you can make the next pallet or window but trying to use it to counter a swing feels super unreliable.

Personally, because of my playstyle - constantly running everywhere - I use Lithe as my Exhaustion perk of choice. But I agree that Sprint Burst is better than Dead Hard nowadays.

Also, it should be noted that most killers, if the situation allows for it, play around Dead Hard & wait to swing. You can't really play around Sprint Burst.

  • My biggest issue is this won't resolve the problem w/ Survivors disconnecting because they're the first downed. They'll just give up on the first hook instead. It's the same thing, really, without any penalty. Still ruins the game for the other three Survivors.

  • Feels like Survivors will just give up on hook & Killers can get held hostage.

  • I think Pop Goes the Weasel is better than Ruin ever was. So, I guess True, but some killers really need some early game help & I'm not sure if Corrupt Intervention is enough.

For new players, Ruin was frustrating. For veteran players, Ruin just got ignored. So it already felt to me like a lot of red rank Killers weren't using it anymore as the more experienced Survivors knew where the totem spawns were or just powered through it. So I think the devs made the right decision because if you want your game to succeed long term, you don't worry about the top tier, you worry about the majority.

  • The "truth" is, the game is popular & making money... so why fix something that isn't broken? If the game stops making money, they'll look to change things up. Think about that the next time you're looking at cosmetics.

  • These games are few & far between. You can just as easily post a video clip of Tru3, Umbra or any of the other top tier killer streamers where they dominate the survivors.

  • I don't run Decisive Strike because good killers just slug you for a minute anyway.

I don't run Dead Hard because good killers will just wait to swing to play around it anyway.

I don't run Adrenaline because a lot of games, your team doesn't complete five generators so it's like only playing with three perks.

I do run Borrowed Time but only because I also run We're Gonna Live Forever & want the stacks.

You probably won't want to do that when the disconnection penalties make a return.

It won't change anything. People will just try to Kobe three times on first hook, not struggle & get no penalty. It is almost the same thing as a d/c. And you can't penalize people for dying on hook...

  • Matchmaking, disconnects & maps are all an issue, honestly. I would argue that ranks & the emblem system aren't great either but they're a lot lower on the totem pole & have already been addressed as being something getting tweaked already in the pipeline.

I don't see any sort of way to fix the disconnect issue though. People quit if they get hooked/downed first. People quit if it's a certain map. People quit if it's a certain killer. People quit against certain add-ons - namely red ones. And if they bring back some sort of penalty on disconnects, people will just give up on the first hook. There's not really anything you can do about. I'm guilty of it myself, to be perfectly honest. I definitely quit a game today against one-shot Huntress. Just not fun, so I moved on to the next game. This one kind of ties-in with the ranking system not mattering. People don't care if they lose a rank. To me, it's more about being able to farm Bloodpoints constantly. It just never feels like there's enough points.

  • To be honest, I don't use any items, add-ons or even offerings. During a double Bloodpoints event, I'll burn through all of the Party Streamers I have, but otherwise, there's just too many disconnects to where I don't feel comfortable potentially throwing away items. I'd rather just try to open a chest & find something.

  • Yeah, no. I don't agree with OP at all. Not even a little bit.

  • Matchmaking could be better. The emblem system could be better. The ranking system is pretty much tacked on & kind of pointless.

Outside of that I think the game is in the best place it has ever been.

Don't listen to the forum though, as it's always nothing but negativity & people that are never pleased. Short memory folk that don't remember what the game looked like in previous iterations.

Anyone that tries to argue about Hex: Ruin changes some how making the game unplayable, from either side, you can pretty much ignore their opinion entirely.

  • I like the idea of having to find a wrench in a locker to be able to work on a generator with. So the game starts and you can't just immediately sit on a gen.

  • The No Mither quest is genuinely the one I'm most excited for. Anything to break up the monotony of how most games go is great to me.

  • Survivors could run Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Sprint Burst/Dead Hard AND Unbreakable.

Woof. No one wants to play against all of that from four people a game. My goodness.

  • I like to play as Michael Myers & Leatherface.

I don't mind playing against Doctor, Demogorgon or Trapper. I don't mind most of the killers, actually.

HATE playing against Huntress, Ghost Face & Plague. Huntress the worst by far for me. It's just not fun to me as the hum gives me a headache.

  • I would argue that the changes to Ruin are one of the best changes they've ever made and that current DBD is in one of the better states it has ever been in.

You have to cater to the masses not the top 1-5%. Otherwise you'll, pardon the pun, ruin your own game.

Just pretend old Ruin was never there & stop trying to compare new Ruin to old Ruin.

I think people sometimes have short term memory & forget how far this game has come. Or they haven't been playing it for a long time.

But, yeah, the forum is littered with people upset over any & every change, that won't ever change, regardless of what Behavior does. If they changed Ruin back, the forum would just be people complaining about them changing it back...

M slightly confused since this is a dont want licenced thread so im guessing your plainly saying you "want" and not "what i want to not be licensed" what is phantasm btw?

OK, I'll put it more bluntly: I don't want anything that isn't Phantasm.

I was trying to be more positive since the forum is already full of negativity. But apparently that didn't work...

  • The only one that I want is Phantasm. Literally don't care about anything else. I've seen a lot of suggestions, the same names usually pop-up - Leprechaun, Child's Play, Stephen King's IT, etc. None of that interests me in the slightest.

The Tall Man as the Killer with the Sphere for a Mori & Reggie as the Survivor with the Morningside Mausoleum as the map. That's what I want.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I know, who cares about points? but honestly I feel a killer should not get rewarded for tunneling, if you hook the same survivor 3 times in a row, that should heavily cost you bp and your emblem for that category imo

I care about points. In fact, they're the only thing I care about. The whole goal is to get as many points in a game as I can. What else would I care about, the rank? lol

  • Was anyone arguing about skill?

I'll go a step further: Dead by Daylight doesn't take skill.

Who cares? It's a video game. Have fun.

  • Survivor: No Mither

    • I think there's a lot of play that could be there. Sort of how some killers feel completely different depending on what add-ons you use, like Tier 1 Myers. It'd be cool if there was a No Mither build that was a completely different playstyle & allowed you to feel like you were playing Survivor differently. As it stands, it feels like you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage & forgoing giving your teammates any healing points.

    Killer: Slippery Meat

    • Great name but pretty useless perk. If it gave you higher percentage to get off the hook in addition to the additional attempts, that would help. But also, it just needs to do more other than have some play against Bear Traps.
  • @FleshTorpedo said:

Without SWF this game would die. BHVR needs to balance around SWF and buff killers to match.

Every time Behavior does anything, like with the recent changes to Hex: Ruin, all the Chicken Little's come out to speak of doom & gloom. The game is still here as strong as ever.

I thought for awhile that having the ability to play SWF, at least 4-people, in Public matches was a mistake & would be better suited for Private matches. The issue there is that 1. people want to play with their friends and 2. no one wants to play Private games because you can't get Bloodpoints.

I read a nice compromise that I thought would be a good idea: show the killer in the lobby who is playing SWF. This way, if the killer doesn't want to deal with it, they can leave the lobby or potentially change their build accordingly. It might make it harder for some teams to get lobbies but that's better than eliminating it entirely.

  • The majority of the time, I just chalk it up to people being emotional & coming from a place of passion. A lot of people spend a lot of time (and maybe money too) on Dead by Daylight so they might feel frustrated when they don't agree with the way certain decisions are made or which direction something may take.

I think most people that play DBD, even the most negative naysayers, are coming from a place mentally of wanting to enjoy the game more.

Attacking the devs to me is silly though. Just remember when you're making hyperbolic comments about them losing their jobs or whatever other ridiculous statements I've read, that those devs you're giving flak to are also the same devs why this game ever happened in the first place.

Trust me, as someone that used to play hours upon hours of Marvel Heroes daily, it's a pretty bad feeling if the game does go away.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    In fairness I wouldn’t say it’s milking.

Some of the dlc for this game is ancient. Spirit came out about 16 months ago and most of the dlc for this game is often on sale for dirt cheap.

If it was a new killer you needed like Oni or Demogorgan then yeah I could understand but its not like DBD is one of those games that expects you to buy $30 dlc to make progress.

The DLC isn't bad price wise if you're just looking at one of them.

If you want them all? It really adds up quickly. With more coming every three months.

The game is twenty bucks. Stranger Things is twelve. Hag, Doc, Clown, etc. are all seven. Even if you exclude cosmetics, it adds up.

According to Steam, it's over $120 for just the DLC but that includes stuff like the soundtrack & the cosmetics like Head Case.

You might not need to speed real money to unlock something for the Tome but this game is following in the footsteps of the rest of the video game industry & trying to nickle & dime the customer base to death. I mean, any game that has like four different in-game currencies feels like lunacy to me but that seems to be the norm anymore.

  • "No disrespect but..." *proceeds to make disrespectful statement*

Look at this logically. You're saying that you disagree with changes made in a video game that you play. And because of that, people should lose their careers & income that allows them to support themselves & their families.

And that doesn't seem disrespectful to you?

  • I don't mind Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike because they both feel like anti-tunneling tools. And in the case of DS, as the Killer, you have some ability to play around it. If you're willing to risk Unbreakable or teammates healing while you wait for the potential DS cooldown.

What I mind more is when you get the teammates trying to farm you, that don't have BT, that still try to dehook you inside the killer's terror radius. Or they'll sprint to try to race you to get a dehook first, despite never being on a Generator & then don't have BT themselves so the Survivor immediately gets knocked down again. As a We're Gonna Live Forever gamer, I get aggravated a lot when people race me to hooks because I miss out on a stack & am usually running BT myself.

  • Honestly, none of the perks I feel are worth deleting at the moment. There's certainly some that can be irksome on both sides. Like, as Killer, I hate when their Exhaustion perk feels like the exact one they needed at that exact moment. Oh, Sprint Burst. Oh, Dead Hard. Oh, Balance Landing... At least you can play around Dead Hard & Decisive Strike. You can't play around Sprint Burst or something like Adrenaline.

Killer side, when I'm Survivor, I just always assume they can see my aura at all times & can 1-shot me someway. So maybe something like Haunting Grounds? I don't know.

    The stages though!?

    Map(s): Hawkins, Lery's, Meat Plant & Yamaoka.
