honestly even without those add ons her drones can be used as a sort of anti loop similar to what Wraith can do from uncloak.
Basically forcing a drone to be hacked so you get that constant 2% speed boost, and then setting up a few drones in the center of the area of play. What this does is force the Survivors to either pre drop or take the hit, since a component thats not really mentioned about increased movement speed is also an increased lunge distance, which 5% definitely mkaes a noticeable difference.

Autohavens are probably the most balanced
Might be a hot take but I think Gideon is actually decent as well

I mean there so many other killers whos already op and get downs np without a sweat. Blight/nurse/artist(cause those annoying birds) spirit with that broken daughter mother ring and cherry blossom which is long past needing a nerf, legion with their stabby stab and broken add on like never sleep pills etch. There is others but I just dont wanna list too many.
None of the killers listed here are "OP"
And even if they were, wouldnt you want to shrink/get rid of a list like that instead of adding onto it???
-
@lifeisstrange said:
They need to make him a 115 ms killer, so stupid artist is 115 with a power that is anti loop + works across the entire map. Trickster has long been past due for some rework or buffs, but bvhr wanna cater to already annoying op killers like dull merchant and knight
this would make him even more infuriating to go against since now a Survivor would have no option or safe place. Trickster is either oppressive or dog and thats all dependent on where the chase starts. Give him 115 and you turn very little sections of the map that you can actually deal with him.

what do u mean about "moving to the side" sorry i want understand exactly what u mean about this. At mid distance u prefere tap m1 or holding? normaly i tap button every knife
So when it comes to medium distance tap, how ever VERY rarely do you every want to throw at a medium to long range distance. Only do so if theres no/VERY little tall walls in the area.
Moving to the side is only really helpful at short range when dealing with loops, as it helps to control the recoil
-
Personally I use Darkness Revealed, Iron Maiden, Bamboozle and Blood Warden, al though I've recently started experimenting with No Way Out, Bamboozle, Lethal Pursuer, Bitter Murmur.
Trickster relies on fast downs and efficiency. Yes you have 44 knives at your disposal but you should use them sparingly, as reloading every few seconds wastes a lot of time even with Iron Maiden.
When it comes to aiming, moving to the side while pulling down helps immensely with the recoil which makes hitting your shots much easier
Try avoiding really strong loops such as main buildings. You are most likely going to get the hit/down, but youll waste a lot of time doing so if the Survivor knows what theyre doing.
When out in the open, try aiming for a Survivors lower back/butt. This is the most accurate spot that represents their hitbox while running and its the least dynamic compared to the rest of the body
This is all I can think of for now, hope it helps <3

Old POV chase music for Myers, Doctor, Demo and Oni
Old Huntress' Lullaby
Old Freddy but modernized to fit todays standards
Hawkins
Cut Thru U Single + Edge of Revival combo for the Trickster (it was busted but god was it fun)

That's your point of view. Mine is that I'm stating facts and you're spilling out words. There is enough evidence on YouTube from creators who played the game at that time. That's proof. And if you really dig around, you will probably find patch notes too.
Even before my break from the game, the devs changed the survivor movement. Proof is somewhere in the patch notes. They made it harder to 360 and now it's again different.
sure thing buddy

There not. I've played before and I'm playing now. I see it and I feel it. There is no point going back and forth because my mind will not change on this.
There are also plenty of videos on YT especially from the known loopers. Check their spinz from 2017-2019 and compare them to now
I mean you can say what ever you want, I'm just providing you with the facts
-
@foodie said:

I didn't play in 2020. I played in 2017 to the beginning of 2019 and again since 2022. I have recordings from that time with the different movements, but they're buried somewhere in an external drive where all recordings go.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FWUOADHRB42O/download-282-29.jpg
Again, the movement it self hasn't changed. Moonwalking, 360's, and all other fun movement techs are still the exact same as before.
What has changed, are Survivor animations. These were all updated in late 2020 and early 2021.
-
@foodie said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3411902#Comment_3411902
Nope or not 100%. If you played consistently over that period, maybe you don't see or feel the difference, but as someone who took a nearly 3-year break from the game, the movement is not the same as it used to be. Spinning is not the same, moon walking is not the same, you can't even see your character's face anymore.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/33BFHLE92C5B/download.jpg
I was collecting these
You can't see your characters face anymore because they changed the model of generators and their animations
I've been playing consistently over the last 6 years, the only time that it has ever changed was back in 2020 when they changed movement and everyone made a fuss over it, so they reverted it
-
@foodie said:
No. Back in the day, yes, because the survivor movement was different and 360ing would almost always guarantee a missed hit. It was also much easier same as moon walking, which the devs decided to make 10 times harder to do. Nowadays, it's much more difficult and usually works on console players. That's how I can tell if the killer is on console. If they can't do the spinz fast enough.
It can work on PC players too, but it's harder to get them to fail a hit.
Often they stand still while I do the spinz until my wrist gives up and then they hit and I just look stupid.
It's a risky move with low success rate. You can do other things than the spinz
The only reason why it worked back then was because the majority of people didnt know how to deal with a spin
the changes to survivor movement were reverted, all that remains are the animations

Are you serious?
The slow, territorial killers like Hag and Trapper would have to trudge halfway across the map to find then snuff the boon. Then they'd have to trudge all the way back, meanwhile the survivors have circled around them and are pumping out gens..
Have you never played a territorial killer against CoH?
Yes, I have. To snuff the Boon its all about finding an opportunity to do so and once you've reached that point you're in the middle of a snowball. Now its without a doubt that the bigger the map, the harder it is to do this but thats more of an issue with maps, not the perk

I've seen only one about average blight on console but all other dozens I've seen have been incredibly bad even those with with P100 on him. I quess we should just let survivors bully console blight? I usually loop them all 5 gens.
Then that's just a bad Blight
Them being on console has little to nothing to do with it

Im sorry but this chapter does not have overwhelmingly negative reviews on steam for no reason.
Yes the survivors visually are alright. But that's all there is to survivors aside from their perks.
Their perks and skull merchant's are terrible though. I haven't even seen any of them used in april, they have already been discarded.
Idk what you mean by "intended way" to play skull merchant. Her power is not very interactive you just place drones wherever you want to. Devs said she's a trap based killer but everyone since PTB did not agree with this. Even her latest challenge is just place drones near objectives. That's what she is, she's an objective defense killer. This makes matches playing as her and against her very abrasive.
Oh I know there's a reason behind the negative reviews, and its quite literally just Skull Merchant.
Most people (myself included) see new killers as the main addition. When that is underwhelming, is kind of spoils the rest of the chapter. That being said, the rest of the content that came with this chapter shouldn't be ignored. The Lyra siblings did come with very nice perks and quite honestly I'm surprised they're not being ran more as they have pretty strong effects, pair well with other perks and are pretty fun to use. The change to Shelter Woods I haven't really heard any complaints about, and overall it made the map much more interesting.
As for the intended way to play Skull Merchant, its obvious that every killer has a vision and playstyle in mind when they're being made. Skull Merchant was meant to be a sort of jack of all trades area control killer. She has regression/delay, zoning, stealth, information and chase but is not great at any of it. Thing is no other killer really has that, and thats what truly makes her unique. Every time I played her I kept finding new drone formations and just new uses for her drones. Unfortunately, the majority of people seem to want to opt for the easy way and just use her the more simple way which is just holding a 3 gen, which is understandable since her intended way to play isn't worth learning for how strong it is. She's not the only killer who falls victim to this either. Bubba and Knight are 2 other killers that come to mind.

Good, that’s how it should be. Matchmaking doesn’t have anyone of their skill level to put them against. They go against average players. So they win every game.
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3410018#Comment_3410018
The blight player is not the only killer in the game. You are trying to balance an entire game around a single player.
The 35-40% escape rate is going to have outliers like this blight player on both sides. Those who constantly get 4Ks and those who struggle to even get a 1K.
Believe what yall want, there is absolutely no discussion happening.
Have a lovely day
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3410007#Comment_3410007
The devs aren't balancing 35-40% escape rate around a single player, they are balancing around the average of all games. The people this blight faced in his games don't only play against him meaning they still have games where they escape.
Some people are going to escape more than others. Some people will escape less than others.
Some people will kill all 4 survivors more than others. Some people will kill 0 survivors more than others.
EXACTLY, 35-40% escape rate around ALL games
In this case, we have some one who played ONE. THOUSAND. GAMES. and not a SINGLE Survivor escaped.

It’s perfectly fine. They’re better than everyone they went against by a heaven and earth difference. Want a video game equivalent?
SKT T1 (one of the world’s best teams in League of Legends) versus Silvers and Golds (the average rank of the majority of the playerbase). The Silvers and Golds will never win a single game in their entire life against SKT T1.
Still reaching outside of the game
Also if you want me to point out the obvious, there are several factors that went into this person getting 1000 wins, there isn't just 1 single reason.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3409996#Comment_3409996
It is what you are asking. Why should someone is good enough at the game to get 1000 wins in a row have to lose a game? Would you feel better if he had a loss every 10 games, every 50, every 100, every 500? How many games should you be able to win a row, before it becomes unacceptable?
I don't know what number, but for a game like this where the balance is meant to be roughly 40-35% of Survivors escaping and in this case not a single one does, that without a doubt says there is something wrong.
Now it doesn't mean that there is 1 definitive answer to it, there is likely several factors that lead to this person getting that high of a winstreak.

You’re seriously saying you think a high school or college team is going to beat a team that wins the world championship equivalent? What drugs are you on?
The same drugs that makes you think that winning 1000 times in a row is fine, to the point where you have to reach outside of the game to make it seem logical
-
@SeaFlower said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3409987#Comment_3409987
I’m pretty sure the world champions team in any sports could win 1000 games in a row if they’re playing against high school or college teams.
I'm almost 100% certain they wouldn't win 1000 games in a row.
Would they win the large majority of their games? Absolutely. 1000? No.

@Crowman said:

But in this context, 1000 wins ain't right

I wouldn't call it an issue...
Slugging is great way for killer to build pressure, it's simple as that.
Like what, you wanna buff the hell out of survivors with basekit Unbreakable? Sure, but I don't want to see single complain about tunneling, which won't happen...
You don't see slugging Survivors for 4 minutes on the ground to bleed out for no other reason than to BM an issue... but you see Survivors waiting at an exit gate (which btw, at MAXIMUM is also 4 minutes) an issue?
I understand that slugging can be used effectively and not to BM, but it is without a doubt unfun for the receiving end and in an ideal world it wouldn't be as necessary in certain scenarios
Also basekit Unbreakable wasnt that bad on the PTB a few months back, it was Unbreakable it self reducing the time it took to get up by half. 45 seconds is still a LONG time and is more than enough time to build pressure to start snowballing
-

I mean all things considered, it was still a pretty decent chapter. Thalita and Renato from what I can tell are very well received and the Shelter Woods update was also pretty good
Skull Merchant was disappointing since her power definitely wasnt well thought out, but playing her in the intended way (as and against) is actually pretty fun. Being using your drones in all kinds of ways.

Yes but without it you would just auto bleed out if left on the ground so too short and you die to quick if slugged, too long and people complain I think 4mins isn't a bad amount of time for said mechanic.
Guess you could reduce it to 3mins without too much interruption to how it functions.
Or just expand on that basekit Unbreakable so no ones forced to stay on the ground to bleed out?

These changes should only be added on pc all those things are balanced on console and survivors anyway spin blight every hit so you can't reduce the hit box on console.
yeah no.
Ive seen PLENTY of good console Blights
-
Blight it self is mostly fine, but there's a few changes Id like to see:
The hitbox of his swing from a Lethal Rush be slightly reduced, that thing is the size of Mothers Dwelling and the amount of hits I've seen that had no reason to connect is absurd
Blighted Rat becomes basekit, most people run either the Rat or Crow anyway so this would incentivize running other add ons (of course if this is done, nerfing the Blighted Rat and Crow to compensate would be ideal)
Adrenaline Vial is probably one of the most slept on add ons in the games history. Use this with Shredded Notes and you have 6 rushes that come back in roughly 5 seconds. How would I nerf it? Idk
Alchemist Ring either needs a new effect, or a downside. Personally I'd go with the latter to make it more high risk high reward by making it take longer to regen tokens
Compound 33 just needs the pallet breaking removed

That doesnt answer the question in the slightest. However, you are not new to the community, how many people do you thing agree with your view on fun? Usually, if you ask 50 people, you get 60 different views on what balance and fun should look like.
Probably not many, how ever there is one that is undeniable and that is fun =/= balance. You have veteran players such as myself who reminisce about 'the good ol days' even tho the game was an unbalanced and buggy mess. Thing is, DbD thrived in being that unbalanced and buggy mess.
Now Id be lying if I said I still dont enjoy the game. But Ive definitely not had as fun as I did back in 2018

And how many people are holding games hostage by setting up COH on the far side of the map (especially with slow territorial killers like Hag & Trapper) and just taking one hit and running off to get healed?
how would they be doing that if the boon is set up in an area that isnt of interest?
Eventually they are going to have to make the move by running into your territory, nothings stopping you from snuffing the boon either if theyre all there, or even if the majority are there

I didn't know that. Still, they could be generous with the limit and make it 40 meters. Run Open Hand to make it bigger. I just think it's a little ridiculously strong, even as a survivor who uses it.
As for Fogwise, if it needs a nerf, make it like Rookie Spirit where you need to succeed a number of skillchecks to activate it for the rest of the match. Though why Rookie Spirit has that requirement despite being far weaker, I have no idea.
The range of Alert was actually 36m if I remember correctly so not far off. I also dont think its that good of a perk since its not really consistent and gives you information that you can already get from other perks or from the HUD.
Fogwise I also feel is fine since it lost a bit of its usefulness thanks to the HUD update.
-
@ShroudedGhostFace said:
The Dead Hard nerf is fine.
Revert the Medkit changes entirely.
Give COH a 60 second cooldown after the boon totem is snuffed by the killer. Keep the ability to use self care.
The medkit and coh changes were without a doubt the most impactful changes since 6.1.0 and that is FAR from a bad thing
Medkits have been the strongest items BY FAR and absolutely destroyed stealth killers, and hit n run playstyles
Its about time they were changed, and they were changed in probably the best way possible

I'm still surprised Alert hasn't been nerfed with a range limit yet. The killer can break a wall on the other side of the map at roundstart and boom, Alert activates in the first 10 seconds.
Because Alert used to have a range limit, and it was pretty bad
