  • People pushing and stressing out over grades is still something Ive never understood

Removing depipping I dont have an issue with, but there are just so many other issues that are way more important.

  • Deadlock ive seen an obnoxious amount and I havent even played that many Survivor games

Sloppy and Mindbreaker are also 2 that are pretty popular

  • This patch was just fine, honestly I think this is just a matter of adapting to the new changes

A David was afk when I played Pig yesterday and I tried it. I had to get almost right up his ass to hear it. I can try it again today to confirm it.

Yeah Im like 99% sure thats always been the case

That's even worse, so your enjoyment comes at the expense of making sure the killer had a bad time or a defeat?

I get DBD players are toxic but it's beyond gross to take pleasure in someone else's defeat. You should be happy when you win, not when others win, and definetly NOT when you made someone else lose, that's pure sociopath behavior.

Brother its not that deep lmao

  • No

    Bloodlust test was already done

The Red Stain is the main reason why some mindgames work

Its probably not a bad suggestion at this point given how poorly people react to de-pipping even with how completely unimportant it is in game terms.

    aint that the truth

No, I am 100% certain before this last update you could hear her traps from a distance. Now you have to be closer than lunging distance to hear anything. They definitely nerfed it. Or its an unintentional bug.

    As a Survivor yes

    Not as killer

  • This has pretty much always been the case no?

I think I know where you are going with this, but why would you want a choice? Is there any reason to not always destroy it?

There are times where Survivors simply cannot get value from that specific Boon thanks to its position

If a Boon is in the dead center of the current play zone, I'm more than likely going to snuff it since they don't need to go out of their way to use it.

If the Boon is far away from the current play zone then there's no point in snuffing it.

With Circle of Healing they would waste LOTS of time simply running to the Boon, then heal, then back.

With the other 3, they NEED to be in the play zone to get any value.

So the reason why I'd want a choice, is so that I can destroy the play zone Boon, and then only snuff (if needed) the rest

  • I'm some one who jumps between killers quite a bit, so at the moment if we're talking viability I would probably have to say Blight

If we're talking about consistency, Trickster.

  • Honestly this is a REALLY good sign that theyre changing this

That means that theyre messin around with settings, meaning we might finally be getting settings that weve been asking for for YEARS like VSync, AA, Render Distance, etc

Yeah but you have to walk around the whole map, which means you aren't doing generators fast enough

Good Survivors dont walk around the map when using SB.

If you want an essay explanation, I can but Im pressed for time atm.

I play a pretty even split. I went for a 4 month period of only playing survivor, and the number of toxic killers pales next to survivors. My own teammates in solo q were often toxic to the killer, even when we won. Very few killers BMed me.

Ok, and how many of those times have you actually stuck around when you died to find out if the killer actually said something?

I’ve been playing since 2018, and the majority of toxicity in this community comes from the survivor playerbase. I also play both sides.

Alright guy Imma tell you somethin that I thought was pretty obvious

When theres 4 people on one side and only you on the other, you have 4 chances that at least one of them is going to be a sore winner/loser.

When you play killer (which is obvious you play more of, I myself was surprised to see that I have roughly an 80/20 split in favor of killer) you cannot see the toxicity some killers project because you are the only one.

Recently Ive been playing MUCH more Survivor because I have every single killer challenge done but still have some Survivor ones left. The amount of BMing and toxicity in EGC is just as much (if not more if you consider all 4 Survivors as just .25 to equal to the 1 killer) and it didnt surprise me one bit. Because toxicity isnt tied to what role you play, its tied to the one behind the screen

No chance. Sure, killers do complain. But again, they don’t use gross tactics like review bombing and harassment, something I only see out of survivors. You can try to explain it away however you want, but the fact is that survivors continually stamp their feet and cross the line.

If you really think that only Survivors review bomb and harass people, youre in denial or really are just seeing it from one side

If you want to see a case of killers review bombing, Hour of the Witch had negative reviews for CoH alone, and Ash vs Evil Dead for MoM alone. And then the most recent chapter is a mix of both. There is more, its just Im limited on time and theae are the top ones that I can think of.

It is majority survivors. Also see the mass DCs and review bombing survivor mains did once the nerfs were announced. I have never seen killers do something like that.

Well when you have a game where you need 4 people on one side and only 1 on the other, its a given that more people are going to main the former. As for DC's and review bombing, since they are more numerous its also a given that more bad eggs are going to be seen.

How ever, if we were to look at Survivors as a whole (meaning we count each Survivor as .25 instead of just the one) they DC, ######### and moan just as much as killers do.

You are right that a lot of survivors good etiquette is not doing certain actions but the vast majority don't refrain from doing any of them.I would argue the majority the killer playerbases follows at least one of the aforementioned self imposed rules while they play.

That being said i don't see survivors not abusing realm offerings, even though its incredibly disrespectful to send the killer to an obviously survivors sided map.And its not like they shy from doing it.Play killer on a friday night, more than half you games will have a map offering.Whats more, killers barely use them, and when they do the majority of times is to make an already off meta build work(scratch mirror on indoor map, good build vs pallets on gideon, trapper on maps with grass).

As mentioned in the original post, just leaving is another good etiquette survivors could follow, and yet again the majority want to be sent off.

Survivors are also notorious for abusing bugs and features before they get fiexed.Killers aren't saints either, but right now when merciless strom is bugged how many killers are running it?I see it once every 7-10 games, but thats anecdotal i guess. Now look back at boil over, and how many teams were bringing maps and staying in areas where they could not be hooked. It felt like every third game was one of those, and the perk itself was ran on half the playerbase.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3404410#Comment_3404410

What about pips, letting a survivor go especially at iri grade is the difference between getting a pip or not.If you want to be technical you get a bonus of 2500 bp for not letting anyone escape + the hook and sacrifice + the bp for closing the hatch. The main thing however is the message conveyed,no one is playing survivors to farm bloodpoints, killers get way more.

who the hell cares about pips nowadays??

  • To me the reason why more killers give escapes than survivors give kills is the bloodpoint difference. Were talking 7000 BP (more if youre the obsession) youre missing out on if you dont escape, compared to roughly 1.5k if you let a Survivor go.

  • If it does, Id prefer to have the choice to either snuff or break the totem

Sadly, many survivors here really do feel that they should be able to beat someone who is better and more experienced.

    It aint just Survivors

We should be able to see MMR values, so we can know if streamers are purposely lowering their MMR off stream….

Some killer streamers get so many survivors that run into walls, or don’t know how to loop. And some survivor streamers get a lot of killers that are really bad at the game, which is how they get their YouTube montages of them making fun of the killers.

You do realize that some of these streamers are live for HOURS at a time right? All to just get 1 good game to be able to post on their YT

Its like Apex content creators, they just post their highlights, not the dozens of games they failed beforehand.

  • Circle of Healing while being a strong perk, was not overpowered

Prove Thyself is probably the most over rated perk in the game

  • @Veroles said:

Hehe, all in all yeah it fits pretty good to pig but it's maybe a little too much like already said by others. I am a bit confused i have to admit, because the pig would have:

Drill chairs, can make people dazed, can dash, can crouch, can be undetectable, can set reverse bear traps, can set angel traps, can set nail bombs... All in all that's a way too heavy.

I do not really understand the concept of the drill chairs itself. What are those? How many do spawn? Is it like a hook/ count as hookstage and are other survivors able to rescue them? A death timer of 75 seconds sounds a way too crazy.

It sounds like a lot but essentially I'll boil it down to this:

Angel Traps replace 4 hooks, kind of like Scourge Hooks.

Drill Chairs spawn on their own and act to set a RBT, once its used it cannot be used again. 4 Drill Chair's spawn per game, giving you 4 RBT's to work with.

Both Angel Traps and Drill Chairs are only accessible if a Survivor is Dazed. At its core, they do still function as a hook. Meaning downing some one who is Dazed and placing them in a Drill Chair for example is the same as if they were placed on a Hook.

Dazed is applied via Nail Bomb's or Ambush. Think of it like Nemesis' infection, where its a mean to start dealing damage using his power.

Like the Angel Trap, you can escape a Drill Chair on your own and its guaranteed to get out after a certain time. Just like hooks they still provide Haste and Endurance as an anti camp/tunnel tool. The thing is if you do escape on your own from either, you suffer the consequences. With a Drill Chair, you automatically start the timer of your RBT, (As opposed to having to the timer starting once a gen is popped) and with an Angel Trap you heal and repair slower, and are unable to hit Great Skill Checks.

As for what the Drill Chair is, it made a brief appearance in the first movie. If you're wondering what it would look like here it is: https://youtu.be/nT7vC-22xXU

This is way, way, way over complicating something with a simple solution. The devs typically don’t do changes this extensive either. These level of reworks are usually reserved for killers with fundamental flaws like Skull Merchant, Pig is not fundamentally flawed in design.

All she needs is her crouch move speed increased, increase the charge speed of her ambush and it’s move speed, remove the sheathing sound of her crouch, and finally move the roar to the end of the charge bar instead of the beginning.

That’s really it. If you wanna get extra snazzy she could use some addon changes. Her core issues are just how bad her crouch and ambush is.

I'm well aware that this is over-complicating things, but that's kind of the point. I wanted to fantasize about what it would be like if I myself were able to create the Pig from the ground up while staying faithful to the SAW franchise but also make something thats enjoyable to play as and against, while also feeling rewarding. To me a good character design is something that's easy to grasp for a new player, but still provides a challenge to master for experienced players which this rework also achieves.

Simply doing a few number tweaks wouldn't necessarily fix her without just making her frustrating to go against. Doing all the changes to her crouch/ambush that you listed simply encourages to use her Ambush at loops and for a Survivor to just run away from it (more than they are already). Not to mention that removing her sheathing sound removes feedback which might not be OP per say, but just makes it feel unfair. This is perfectly shown with Hag and Rusty Shackles.

  • I dont care what they mainly play, I just care about their argument(s)

  • @Peanits said:

It is random. Each tile has a possible spawn location for the hatch. One of these spots is chosen at random and the hatch spawns there once it becomes available.

Was this changed? Since in the past the hatch spawned straight from the get go, but was invisible until the conditions for it appearing were met

  • Killrate shouldnt be the main point of balance

Hooks should be. 8 to be exact

  • Stealth Nemesis

Add ons: Serotonin Injector / Tyrant Gore

    Offering: RPD Badge

    Perks:

Trail of Torment: A great perk for baiting Survivors towards you and just to stay Undetectable when theres no Zombies nearby. I believe simply infecting a Survivor also doesnt put the perk on cooldown

Tinkerer: Points you in the right direction, and pairs surprisingly VERY well with the next perk

Insidious: Any time you are Undetectable, Insidious also activates, meaning if the timer of something else giving you Undetectable runs out, standing still will maintain that Undetectable, meaning your TR wont come back at all. Works very well with Tinkerer to scare off a Survivor and then hiding around a corner close to the gen since theyre most likely going to come back, since its a gen thats almost done.

Devour Hope: Since the map is RPD, the totem usually stays up for quite some time. With the amount of ways you have to become Undetectable as well, getting that first and only hit once you reach 3 stacks is usually quite an easy task

    Hope you enjoy :)

  • Trapper

My diet which consists of magnets, magnets, and more magnets, are not ideal when going against crunchy toes

  • So like, I understand that with AMN buffed they can just throw down pallets over and over just to annoy the killer with notifications... but what is stopping them from just hoping in and out of a locker? Its quite literally the exact same effect but instead you can do it without the risk of losing a pallet

I also can't remember the last time I got a cheater, last video I have is back when they were VERY common and a hot topic where some guy did all gens instantly and left.

Never seen killers specifically getting disconnected either, nothing abnormal anyway

  • Blood Warden

Been my favorite perk for years now :)

  • Skull Merchant's gameplay still only appeals to a small minority of players

Bloodweb, visual heartbeat, and several perk nerfs coming on Tuesday (This includes DH, CoH, CoB, Overcharge and more)

Few killer buffs, mainly small ones al though Billy's overheat was tweaked a bit

Autohaven got a few new tiles, (which some ars actually live right now!) Gas Heaven and Blood Lodge got reworked.

And thats all I can think of atm, feel free to check out the March Dev Update and April Dev Update to know more

  • This achieves nothing other than making her weaker

As many have said Plague is in a fine spot at the moment, she doesnt need any changes

    Are you sure?

the way I unterstood it is that a killer you have zero experience with has an MMR based on your average/highest mmr from killers you have experience on. But if you already have two killers with much experience (but different skill level) - those MMRs are completely unrelated from one another?

    this is a better explanation

I just couldnt find the right words at the time lmao

"They'll ride S-tier killers until their MMR is too high for them to play anything else."

Every killer has it's own mmr. You can have a low MMR with Trapper and on the other site massive high MMR with Nurse. Both is possible.

While its true every killer has their own MMR, it still changes on killers you barely play depending on the MMR of your other killers.

  • @MrPsych said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398771#Comment_3398771

If you think killer is weak now, you're welcome to go back to launch day DBD, where hook sabotages were permanent and trapper could have his traps disabled forever. Not to mention that survivors could infinitely loop you in about any map.

Compared to many, I don't miss old DBD. Maybe I miss the looks, but the gameplay? Absolutely not.

Every map did have an infinite because there were only the MacMillan, Autohaven and Coldwind (they were all missing one map tho) maps which all had shack. Back then shack had 2 windows, (the 2nd one would spawn where the pallet is now) there were no entity blockers, fast vaults were MUCH easier to achieve, and bloodlust wasn't a thing.

The only killer that could deal with that was Trapper since he could trap them, how ever it took him roughly 9 seconds to place 1 trap, and they could be permanently sabotaged with either a toolbox or Saboteur

Exhaustion also wasnt a thing, meaning Sprint Burst simply had a 20 second cooldown (later increased to 40 seconds), Self Care healing in 15 seconds, We'll Make It increasing healing speed by 300% AND worked for self heals (yes that worked with Self Care), and theres worst than this

All of this, and there was no such thing as a gen regression (kicking gens wasnt a thing) and gens took 60 seconds.

But yeah, Survivors havent gotten stronger since then

  • @fearsxoxo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398773#Comment_3398773

nerfing a regression perk is buffing gen speed. corruped intervention has been nerfed , pop goes , eruption , hex ruin, and now coming call of brine PR. They have been continously tried to push killers away from regression perks, if thats not a buff to gens speed idk what you call that man

Ok, but have you ever stop to consider the reason why these perks have been nerfed is because of the nerf to gen speeds???

  • @Carth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398744#Comment_3398744

100% true. Infinites used to be a thing, 60 second ds that never went away used to be a thing, dead hard was significantly stronger, insta blind, vacuum, etc. Survivors have been getting many many nerfs(deservedly in many cases imo) for years

2018 and 2019 alone were huge in terms of balance changes.

HEAVY reduction in pallets, nerf to healing, removal of pallet vacuums, removal of insta heals, removal of strong windows, etc.

The game truly has come a long way, the only problem is theyre taking their sweet time

  • @fearsxoxo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398763#Comment_3398763

i cant agree on that. ive started playing killer getting destroyed by extremely good survivors i was basicly getting bullied. since they buffed gens speed, it has completly changed not the mention the coh meta. over the years ive became better , not the other way around ? and it has became harder and harder to win games. the maps has changed , the perks has changed favoring survivors way too much. to an extent where even players holding W can destroy you in a 4min match ! yes you heard it complete 4 gens in 4 mins

Buffed gen speeds??? the only changes related to gens in recent years have only been nerfs

They reduced Survivor efficiency for coop repairs roughly 2 years ago, and increased the amount charges required to repair a gen from 80 to 90 in 6.1.0

  • @fearsxoxo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398744#Comment_3398744

im sorry i cant agree on that. ive been playing for 2 years and yet i see a real difference from 2 year prior. either that its on killers perks tool etc or survivor side. and i see a real difference on the type of players winning game. i use to lose only to good loopers good team , now its easily noticable that ven players unable to to loop just holding w from one pallet to another ? nah man most survivors arnt good and win game so easily nowadays ! gens goes way too fast there way too many ways to counter killers. ( maps / palets/ gen rushing/ dead hards / healing / body blocks / sabo/ rescue ) if you cant aknowledge that killers have to sweat every single game to even stand a chance compare to survivors ? your either blindfolded and live in deny

Ive been maining killer since 2018 and have roughly 5.6k hours, and yes even 2 years ago the game has gotten easier for killer

Just think, exactly 2 years ago the most recent killer was Trickster (who Ive been maining basically since) and the meta back then consisted of Ruin/Tinkerer/Undying/Corrupt. A meta that was heavily reliant on RNG and hoping your totems would last long enough to provide any real value.

Survivor meta was also much better, DS got its first nerf since 2019 at this point, base gen speeds were faster, and one of the strongest Survivor perks still remained, being DH.

You also had a pretty big balance patch which ridded of one of the most frustrating and unbalanced thing in the game, being Hatch spawning even if multiple Survivors were in the game. Sure CoH did get added as well, but it was quickly nerfed (twice) and after the 2nd time it became the most over rated Survivor perk in the game, even moreso than Prove Thyself.

End of 2021 also brought us one of the strongest killers who has barely been touched since her release, and she brought a perk that is and still will be meta, being Pain Res.

2022 was also a great year for killer, and all I have to say is 6.1.0 .

All of this is just the last 2 years, and thats VERY tame compared to the amount of changes killers and survivors received.

Im not blind, nor am I in denial. I just look at the facts and base my opinions based on my own experiences.

  • Became Survivor sided?? Through out the years the game has become more and more killer sided and thats not an opinion, thats a fact.

There is no doubt in my mind that Killer is the easiest its ever been. Now before you freak out, am I saying killer is easy? No, and itll almost always be the harder role simply because you have 4 other people to worry about. But compared to what we used to deal with, killer nowadays is nothing.

That being said, killer is still no where near as hard as some make it out to be, sure its no kids game, but its no no damage run dark souls either.

  • You can keep a Survivor bodyblocked to get a down/charge up your power. There are multiple killers that can do this, not just Billy or Plague

The only time it becomes an issue is if you specifically hold them in the corner for an extended period of time with no intent of hitting/downing them. As this would be taking them hostage
