  • You have more than enough time to reach a safe place before they get bloodlust.

You can travel 60 meters of distance before he gets Bloodlust, and there isnt a single map where theres not at least a pallet or window within that range

I mean against efficient survivors that's legit all you can do. Using bad survivors as an example is just a bad example. Like sure you can still do well with a top 5 killer but the rest? Not so much.

No, it isnt. It works for top tiers since they have a reliable way to get downs paired with good mobility which most anti tunneling methods cant do much about.

And if you use tourneys as an example it ain't a good one. They play for points and tunneling is without a doubt the safest way to secure points.

  • Its just like any other similar complaints ya see for every game. An exaggeration

Yeah but when you lose 3 gens by the time you get your first hook it forces you to play in a more boring way if you want to have a chance at getting more than 2 kills.

Its still very much possible to do so without playing in a boring way, in fact just focusing on 1 Survivor after 2 or 3 gens pop just guarantees your loss further becuase they would still have access to at least half of the maps resources (whcih are across the map from the remaining gens if the survivor running is smart) and now you have 3 survivors that you're leaving alone to do 2 remaining gens. I have seen so many games where a killer would of still very much had a chance, but they think they HAVE to tunnel to be able to turn the game around. And that is so far away from the truth, but its such a common misconception that I'm not even going to try

  • @VirtuaTyKing said:

Gen speed is just plain silly now. Anyone who argues otherwise is a survivor only player period.

If I run deja vu and prove thyself and a couple join the killer doesn't have time to even reach the gen most of the time let alone defend it.

No the game isn't over when 2 gens pop against a bad team. Against a good swf though it's just laughable.

    Gen speed isnt plain silly

So, you're saying his hit and run build is stronger than C tier? I don't think so. The maps I mentioned are hard for most killers but for Wraith, it's much worse and almost guaranteed loss against good survivors.

With the right set of add ons yes, I used to main him and still play my fair share of him. Ive gone against plenty of good teams and Wraith is not one of the killers I dont feel confident with going against a team of high hour players.

Also Lery's and Midwich are probably 2 of his best maps considering his mobility isnt hampered and has plenty line of sight blockers.

Even The Game is pretty decent for him for the sole reason of LoS blockers, and being able to get a hit before they can even reach a pallet.

Nah. I've tested a lot of Wraith and I agree with Otz's C tier rating of Wraith. Condemn Onyro is definitely stronger than Wraith.

Wraith is decent on most maps but there are some maps he is extremely bad on. The main issue with Wraith is he has nothing to shorten a chase in a loop, so if survivors aren't stupid and run the loop instead of pre-dropping instantly, it becomes very difficult to win. People only think Wraith is strong because most survivors are stupid and will just wait a pallet to drop it while you uncloak instead of looping it. Wraith is mainly strong on maps with few pallets. He struggles significantly on maps where:

    • there are many pallets
    • loops can be chained
    • the map is too narrow for Wraith to overtake survivors and body block them

Examples of terrible maps for Wraith are: Borgo, Lery's, Mother's Dwelling, The Game, Midwich (depending on your build), and Garden of Joy.

Well no ######### Condemned Sadako is stronger than Wraith, its one of the stronger builds in the game period.

That being said, if we allow Sadako to use her strongest build its only fair to let Wraith use his strongest build. And with that Sadako is still stronger yes, but its not like Wraith is a push over.

You mentioned that hes not a great chaser but heres the thing, Sadako aint either. In fact shes a worst chaser since she doesnt have a way to shorten the gap or deal with pallets. Wraith has movement speed built into his kit and add ons to deal with pallets.

So what do you do with both of them? You dont chase. They are purely hit and run and thats where they both shine the most. What I believe Wraith has over Sadako, is a better chase and less map dependency. Wraiths performance is fairly consistent since his (little) anti loop and mobility dont have any restrictions unlike killers like Billy or Oni.

He's a jack of all trades which makes him possibly the least map dependant killer in the game, yes there are maps that hes not as good, but those maps are typically bad killer maps to begin with. All of the maps you mentioned are all terrible for basically any killer (except Lery's and... Midwich!??) and Wraith is no exception.

  • Thats always been the case. Game is also no where near over at 2 gens completed

  • Doesn't make you faster but it takes A LONG time to catch up, especially on RPD since the game wont count you as in a chase because of how many LoS blockers there are, meaning you wont be getting Bloodlust

EDIT: To be exact, they move at 110% speed (4.4m/s) and most killers move at 115% (4.6m/s)

  • NA East here, been having terrible connection for about the past week now

I agree with the licencing factor, also I think his music is also a big factor but I dont know what killer you would consider to be fun and strong, I mean blight does comply with that description, and maybe oni (altho a good team should let you get power twice per match) but hes fun to use,and I think singurarity is strong and fun too but I do not know of other killers tha qualify either because they are not fun or incredibly easy to clap.

There are PLENTY of strong killers that are fun to play, (which is subjective btw) Wesker just so happens to have 2 things that are more desirable and simple to use, being an ability that can be used in chase and mobility to get into chases faster.

Him being simple to use attracts him to newer players, and his techs add depth which makes him attractive to experienced players.

Also all killers are viable in 99% of matches that you play. Youre not going against a tourney squad every game

I did it before the bug was fixed where knives didnt count towards Emblems. So I had to play an M1 killer at 110% with a Lullaby. The way I did it how ever was making Survivors think I was playing normally by still throwing knives at them, but with the sole intention of zoning them. I did eventually down one of them with knives and that was the very last one.

I try to get adepts on the day a killer is released, was only able to get it the day afterwards.

I mean then you (or rather BHVR) should give a reason for people to play other killers, for example convince someone to play a meme character like pig or freddy, there is absolutelly zero reason to play some of the characters in the roster atm.

I cant believe that I have to say this, but there are other fun and strong killers out there. But when you mix the former with a popular license... it explains it self

Its almost like he is a really fun killer to play that is actually decent. Would you rather see blight and nurse every game instead?

Doesnt matter how fun he is to play as. People seem to praise Billy as the most balanced and perfect killer prior to his rework when in reality he was seen very similarly to modern day Blight or even Wesker just because he was seen almost every other game

Going against a Wesker is fun, going against 4 of them in a row? (all 4 of my surv games today) It starts to get old

  • yeah thats not how that works

  • @Zokenay said:

SM has no real chase power beyond that, besides making herself undetectable inside her drones or addon buffs.

And for starters, youre dealing with 4 survivors, even one taking a bit longer to catch can greatly hinder your chances of winning the match, if not outright lose you the match.

And the most important fact, hitboxes, Survivors have a smaller hitbox than the killer, which makes them able to run around loop tighter than the killer, which means that a haste buff is quite significant for them.

Besides, MFT can be paired with other perks, most notably, Resilience which makes vaults fasters, making the chases way stronger for them, then we can also add other Haste effects, such has Hope or Blood Pact, and the survivors is essentially impossible to catch.

Made for This is just a horribly designed perk that punishes M1 killers greatly, and 110% even more, specially Trickster.

As some one who plays a good bit of Trickster, Sprint Burst hurts him MUCH more than MFT

You don't really want to go for chases you know you cant win to begin with, MFT just makes Survivors at their strongest a bit stronger which is in the middle of a dense area. As Trickster you want to get a hit or even a down before their able to reach that area, and while MFT certainly helps a bit with that, but Sprint Burst is undoubtedly better at screwing him over since they can run behind cover before he even has a chance.

  • I can guarantee you SWF's aren't the main reason why you're losing games and this would change absolutely nothing.

Punishing people who simply want to play with their friends would also kill this game faster than anything else.

If there's multiple survivors with flashlights there isn't always something the killer -can- do, that's the thing.

See what @Nebula said. FL are high risk high reward, 9/10 if there are multiple survivors going for a save it benefits the killer.

  • @Krazzik said:

Dealing with flashlights isn't as easy as many here are acting like it is. Good survivors know when to go for the save and aren't gonna fall as easily for baits. People are also gonna make sure they don't go down right next to a wall. As far as I see it if you don't wanna have to deal with flashies or flashbangs then Lightborn is a perfectly good perk. If you personally don't have much of an issue with it then don't run it, it's really that simple.

Certainly don't need this thread dredged up every few months and people hating on lightborn users calling 'em bad killers :p

And just like good Survivors knowing when to go for a save, good killers know to take the necessary steps to avoid a blind that isnt slapping on a perk

It’s not so easy as you paint it. If that were the case then nobody would bring flashlights period.

survivors still bring flashlights because they are still good. And there are some scenarios where you can’t just look at a wall (Coldwind farm)

so the perk definitely isn’t useless

I mean FL are brought because theyre fun and feel rewarding when used correctly.

Also, yes it is that easy. Been playing the game and been maining killer for years now. I dont think theres a single time that Ive been FL saved and I didnt think to myself: "Oh I could of avoided that." I also tend to run Shadowborn on a few killers which makes me easier to blind

Even on maps like Coldwind or maps that are pretty open, you can still avoid a blind very easily. Either turning at an odd angle where if there could be a Survivor hiding then they would most likely not be able to blind in time, or by faking a pick up and make the savior reveal themselves from their hiding spot, scare them off quickly and then pick up the survivor while turning the complete opposite direction.

They really are easy to deal with once you know how to, its just a matter of learning how to do so.

  • @Krazzik said:

I don't use it as much thesedays but sometimes if I see 3 or 4 flashlights in a lobby I might decide to bring it, ruining survivors fun is always fun.

Also there's quite a bit of Blast Mine thesedays because of the 'Blind the killer 10 times' archive so you're screwing over survivors even more by running it, win-win.

    yikes

  • I mean sure you can bring Lightborn, but I'd recommend actually learning how to deal with flashlights because they're really easy to counter.

Its probably the worst perk in the game, as the moment they realize you have Lightborn they just stop going for flashlight saves which means they'll just spend more time on gens. So now you wasted a perk slot on something you could of easily avoided by being more aware of your surroundings, or looking at a wall

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Scariest? Up there. Best designed? Far from it. He's weak, but extremely weak on some maps that lack lockers in important areas. Furthermore, his nightfall is a pain for survivors where its given me literal headaches playing against him. He was definitely fun at first and can use some perks very well (such as MYC) but personally he isn't amazingly designed.

    He does look stunning however.

Luckily Dredge is able to influence which gens get worked on more than other killers since he can pressure then gens he wants to keep. Further gens arent even that big of an issue since while teleporting your state is "in a locker" which means youre gaining an extra 6c/s towards Nightfall. If you have all Survivors injured youre at 3.25c/s. With these 2 combined (which isnt that hard to do btw) youre popping Nightfall about every minute or so.

  • Pretty sure they screwed up any possibility of that happening with Deathgarden

    Ill gladly be wrong tho

There is rather little mobility that can be used during looping, and "surprise" doesn't really help against it as all that does is helping first hit, and then "down a survivor quickly" generally has range limitation or LoS limitation so still largely gets hurts by the perk.

Considering no counter nature of this perk, MfT only gets worse and worse with the more time it passes because people will understand how to utilize this perk, just like how dead hard wasn't really considered that good for earlier times (although that could be more related to it not working properly due to hit validation).

Most killers that have some sort of mobility can use it during chase. Surprise also helps considering killers like Wraith or Ghost Face are either going to hit and run, or even Ghost Face can simply insta down negating MFT completely.

There is also several counters to the perks, again insta down killers/perks negate the perk completely, hit and run killers make its effects basically useless, and also there is more than enough perks and add ons that apply Exhaustion.

2 things are more than likely going to happen. MFT gets completely gutted because there is no other way to fine tune this perks already existing effects without making it dogshit, or people start to realize its just a perk similar to Resilience but you cant Exhaustion perks with it.

  • @ChaosWam said:

I'm convinced anyone defending it at this point uses it as a crutch.

Ive used it in a build to experiment using WGLF and MoM. I also played against it a tone playing killer.

And 9/10 a Survivor who has MFT would of been better off running Sprint Burst or Lithe since most killers have tools to either: down a survivor quickly, have the element of surprise, have good mobility.

Its basically just a different version of Resilience with more utility in chase rather than overall, and thats not a bad thing.

Fine; using it is a risk because you're missing a health state, and it doesnt help in chase except for like a 0.1s faster vault time or something, which is miniscule, but enough to just make it. MfT however makes it take longer to get downed, enough that it renders the fact you're missing a health state moot

.1s faster vault doesnt sound like much but when you take in consideration you have to be roughly half a meter closer to get a hit through a window or pallet you realize just how much value Resilience gives you during chase. It also gives you more wiggle room while at a pallet where youre forced to guess if a killer is going to double back or not.

MFT does the same thing but gives more wiggle room to greed pallets instead of windows. Both of these perks have a reason to be ran, it just depends on what the user values more. More utility in every situation while having a nice bonus in chase (Resilience) or more utility in chase and being more greedy to finish pick ups/heals (MFT)

I think made for this is literally much better variant of resilience, I honestly believe resilience by itself is extremely strong, but then MfT does work on: windows, pallets, dead zones, within loops, against killer power, against killer lunge, even the time you are not chased by killers, and can be stacked with resilience too.

Resilience is great in allowing you to have little more time for safe vault, made for this is great in allowing you to have little more time in literally every situations, and then with MfT survs can even gain more distance when killers can't move/has to walk around.

This agree with (very well thought out reply btw)

Made For This is 100% the better perk in chase, but Resilience is definitely nothing to scoff at either.

To me I believe it comes down to the user on whats more beneficial to them. The one more meant for chases (MFT) or the one thats a bit more versatile (Resilience)

Yup. It's only 1% more than it was previously (5% to 6% boost) when barely anyone used it.

Most people are likely using it to track gen placement, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mostly solo survivors bringing it (who can't coordinate with each other to bring the perk obviously, but they'd have been disproportionately affected by the 3 gen from the start strat)

I mean I thought the gen placement was obvious, the 6% is just a nice little bonus

Even if it saves 7 seconds of repairing generator, it is huge imo.

Overzealous grants 10% repair bonus, while Resilience giving 9% speed bonus to almost every interaction seems overkill to me.

It's an incredibly strong survivor perk. And has been for a while. But it isn't broken.

I think it's in an acceptable spot and would like other survivor perks to be just as useful. Rather than being either worthless or overpowered.

But it literally gives you the same effect as Made For This of being able to perform vaults over pallets and windows that you otherwise wouldnt have. Making mindgames against people using the perk much harder to perform thanks to the faster speed (I forgot the exact math behind it, but the killer has to be roughly .5m closer to be able to hit a Survivor vaulting with Resilience.

Made For This does the exact same thing but has the added requirement of not being able to pair Exhaustion perks with it, mainly Sprint Burst, Lithe or Overcome. Dead Hard could still be paired up with it as well but once thats used (even unsuccessfully) you still get Exhausted and you get absolutely no value out of the perk.

Which at that point why not just run Resilience with DH? Made For This is just a bit more versatile in the sense that it can also make you reach pallets but pair DH with it and you got that pallet problem covered. Sure you could just run all 3 perks together for the ultimate chase build but now you have an entire build basically dedicated to chase and barely anything else to assist you.

So now the last thing youre probably thinking and to me this is the strongest combo; Made For This + Resilience without Exhaustion. This is definitely a strong combo but you are still missing out on an Exhaustion perk meaning if your ass is caught in a deadzone that 3% Haste and 9% faster vault might as well not exist.

Im not saying its a weak perk, its without a doubt strong. But its downside is strong enough to be a balanced perk

  • Can I ask you something

Yall who think Made For This is truly broken... what do you think of Resilience?
