Love making conclusions 2 hours after release
Truly a DbD moment
-
Looks like a bug, and I doubt youd be banned for SWFing with them.
Even if you did you have more than enough evidence to show you had no ill intentions

While outside of Nightfall try to get as many Survivors injured as possible, the more Survivors injured the faster it builds
.25c/s 0 injured
0.75c/s 1 injured
1.5/s 2 injured
2.25/s 3 injured
3c/s 4 injured
Being in the state of inside a locker also increases your point gain by 6c/s. Meaning if all 4 Survivors are injured and youre teleporting, youre charging Nightfall at 9c/s. Nightfall requires 300 charges to activate.
There are also a few things that give immediate charges. Basic Attacks and Hooking give 20, and teleporting to the Remnant give 10.
That being said its best to try to keep Nightfall up as much as possible, doing anything to gain points will help build towards it. Say youre in chase and you dont see yourself using your teleport for a bit, you can just activate it to TP to the remnant real quick to gain some charges. If Nightfall is about to end and youre about to hit/hook a Survivor, wait for it to end so you can get more charges towards the next Nightfall
Another thing is if you have a Survivor who's working on a gen with lockers on either side. Teleport to one, wait, then teleport to the other. Of course this one is more situational, but they can run into you.
As for add ons I recommend anything that increases Nightfall charges, Haddies Calender, or Ottomarian Writing.
His purple add ons are very gimmicky but fun, Lavalier Microphone is probably your best option as well as Field Recorder if you want maximum spookiness
Hope this helps :)

I want to go back in time, like 2018 or 2019.
Just so I can tell everyone that DS is now one of the least used perks and people are complaining about Windows of Opportunity

Do you happen to know why this is? It’s so strange how a perk is regarded as terrible in one place but somehow meta in another. Is there some way to use it that some of us don’t know about?
@crogers271 explained it better than I ever could

Oni and Dredge by a long shot.
Id say more Oni and Wesker as Dredge is WAY too map dependant. Dredge on Haddonfield vs Dredge on Midwich might as well be 2 entirely different killers

Pretty sure its a very popular perk in Asia. Im still of the belief that its not that bad of a perk, especially in a SWF

this line
I mean even Team Eternal took quite some time to break the 3 gen in the showmatch and it was almost a 1 hour long match, all while being a comp team with coms and arguably the best dbd players around.Implies that you think that we shouldn't balance around what comp teams can do. Because you said that SM was "problematic" despite the fact that said team was able to beat her.
So question then.
Should the game be balanced around the highest level players? Or the average ones?
They should take both into account, doesn't have to be one or the other
A killer can also be changed quite significantly at the higher level while barely having an effect on the lower level. Great example of this are the Nemesis changes a while back which buffed his movement speed in tier 3 while holding his tentacle, but nerfed Marvin's Blood. These changes were still impactful at the top level but barely had an effect at the bottom level which is exactly what you want. Newer players don't necessarily care about balance, nor do they understand it.

Both can be done out of spite
Survivors doing it how ever mainly affects their fellow teammates

Why would it be out of spite? Killer is doing his only objective.
Just like survivors that only do gens. Or would you say that they do it out of spite?
Because tunneling and camping aren't always the most efficient options.
Just like how sticking on gens isn't always the best choice either.

So 3 gen skull merchant is ok because the biggest whiner (seriously out of all the players you picked him🤣) beat it. Got it. Also killers complain all the time about perks that lead them to getting nerfed. Just look at made for this for example. How many threads are there about that perk?
what???
EDIT: Only possible thing I can think of is you either meant to reply to some one else or HEAVILY misinterpreted what I was saying because the biggest whiner is quite possibly one of my least favorite content creators

Thats (probably) not up to them since the license is pulled. Pretty sure Netflix wouldnt be too happy that they would be making money off a non active deal.

You are still missing the point.
The point i am making is, take a poll of killer survivors LIKE going against. And you'll find that the list of them, are basically the ones that can't force survivors off gens in one way or another outside of natural "m1" hits. How many "trapper OP threads" do you see vs say "wraith OP" threads neither of which really deserves one. But you get my point.
Those complaints were mainly because it was poor design and still is to an extent. Reason why its not as bad nowadays is the HUD update that provides information. Something that punishes Solo Q while having little to no effect to SWF will of course be complained about. Pinhead is a great example of this, SWF's can deal with the box quite easily as 1 of them can make a simple call out. Solo Q on the otherhand is a different story as seeing no icon next to some one can mean many different things.
An example of something that gets people off gens but affects SWF just as much as Solo Q is actually Sadako, who wasnt complained for that reason but for other reasons. Many thought her Condemned was overtuned but thats because they didnt know how to play against her, which is why you barely see any complaints about her nowadays.

When sadako was reworked there were constant threads about it. But her play rate has gone down so you don't see it much.
There was literally a thread yesterday complaining about plaything.
Before alien there were multiple threads about wesker.
Prove thyself was a victim of "it gets used a lot so we nerfed it"
There are constant threads about basically everything thats new if it even has a hint of being strong. Reworked Lucky Break, Resurgence, Fogwise, Blood Rush, and many more.
A single thread complaining about something every week is not enough to be "complained about". If thats the case I could make a post claiming Trapper is OP and itd have the same weight.
Alien was complained about because of a bug that made him even more unfun to go against, Wesker was the opposite where he was basically seen every game which can make things feel stale. Just like how people complain about perks that are seen way too much
Prove Thyself had multiple threads every week complaining about it before the nerf, it wasnt just "it gets used alot"

The problem with that though?
Every single time something comes out, that forces survivors to NOT do gens, they whine and complain until that thing gets nerfed (usually takes like a year, but they still complain about it constantly):
I.E.
- Old ruin actually being usable
- The new "All hex build" with plaything/pentimento/devour/haunted ground (not yet nerfed but look around you'll see threads complaining about plaything)
- Sadako (not yet nerfed, but everyone still complains constantly about her)
- Skull merchant, forcing survivors to not gen rush for fear of that 3gen (watch some tru3ta1ent videos of him destroying 3-gen SM as a survivor)
- Pinhead box, constant complaining that the box is "too hard to deal with"
- Wesker, constant complaining about having to cleanse his power after being unhooked.
- Pre-nerf freddy, constant complaining about his teleport.
Basically anything that forces a survivor to not just tunnel a gen until they hear a heartbeat is complained about until it is eventually nerfed.
Im ngl chief the amount of posts of everything you listed here is close to none, except for 3 gen Merchant which is justified.
Also saying that Survivor crying only gets things nerfed is straight up ignorant as there are plenty of examples of Survivor things nerfed because of killers complaining. Prove Thyself probably being the best example

Killing is the killers only objective. Yet, when the killer does his only objective as efficient as possible, since there are no other objectives, its considered kinda toxic from the community.
Funny how that goes, isn´t it?
I mean most times that killers tunnel and camp is purely out of spite. Hardcore tunneling some one out of the game is far from efficient, same goes for camping.
These 2 things are very effective when applicable and most of the time people dont really complain about it when used in the proper way. I myself play to win, how ever I never say to myself: "oh wow they got 3 gens done already? i need to tunnel one of them out asap" as thats just gonna guarantee my loss further unless the team Im up against throws the game
-
You think his tunneling is bad now? Oh man just you wait, because he's just getting started.
-
Well since this is a nerf and not a rework, Ill go with Blight
Reduced Rush Tokens from 5 to 4
Increased cooldown from 2 seconds per Rush Token to 2.5 seconds

Again, it's info. That's good on killers that can do something with it.
That's meaning A tier or above. Most weaker killers will not profit from this perk.
I've run it on pig for a bunch of games and it actually felt way worse than Bbq or floods of rage.
Again: the best part was the blindness.
Its not just A tier and above that benefit from this perk, Id argue majority of killers benefit from it.
Pig I can see why it isnt too good considering information doesnt synergize well with her way of snowballing
-
@radiantHero23 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3557610#Comment_3557610
And that's a problem?
You know why this perk isn't strong?
Because I know where survivor are.
Why do I know that? Gens or in my face.
I mostly know spawn logic on all maps now and can also predict survivor pathing pretty well. This perk literally helps me the same as Bbq does. Even worse, because I have to open a locker for it. As a Pig main, that's huge time investment that I need for chases.
The best thing about the Perk is blindness because it disables windows of opportunity. A perk that more survivors rely on then they want to admit.
Its one thing having good game knowledge, I myself have over 6k hours and dont necessarily main a killer but I have a pretty good understanding of all of them (some of course more than others)
How ever actually seeing some one thats some where you dont expect can create an opportunity to snowball that otherwise wouldnt be there, and this perk presents MANY opportunities.
It is far from a weak perk, its probably the strongest information perk in this games history as its a strong effect, while having such an easy activation requirement

30 seconds is fine, it's not too long and any shorter and it would be a useless perk. If the killer is running around the map to proc it on everyone then they're not chasing anybody and usually will go after the last person who screams as the others will likely run away from where they screamed plus TR and visual TR still exist so you know very easily if you're the one they're coming for and can run accordingly. This is practically what BBQ and chili does but with preference, one shows aura far away without you traveling to that location the other shows you near you but you have to travel to use it. A nurse/blight would make far better use of BBQ than UI for more pinpoint info whereas a slower killer like trapper or pinhead (just as an example) would rather UI because of map balancing issues where they're just too big to make use of BBQ's duration.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3557579#Comment_3557579
Has nothing to do with the post, take the salt somewhere else
Thing is you don't need to just go running around the map just to proc it, you can use it to find 1 Survivor and they have absolutely no way to avoid it. Then when chasing said Survivor, you're more than likely gonna have some one else scream knowing where they are and possibly where to go next.
Its also strong just to slug for the 4k since again, there's no avoiding the perk.
-
To me its not overpowered, just over tuned.
Opening the locker doesn't cause people to scream, it makes the perk activate and the moment some one is in your Terror Radius within 30 seconds, the killer knows where you are and because of a bug that makes Survivors scream in lockers (only for this perk btw) it makes it have 0 counterplay.
My main problem is the activation time. It needs to be reduced DRASTICALLY as 30 seconds allows you to basically cover a large majority of the map, if not the whole thing. Information is a very strong tool and for Ultimate Weapon to not only have one of the strongest effects, but also having it so easily accessible is just dumb.

Cool
Nice to see someone else than a survivor main enjoy Singu (can i call him singu?)
I had no pleasure playing him. Tried for some time, mainly because of the archives challenge. But ended up playing him like a m1 killer that doesn´t use his power. At that point i just let it go, as its pointless to play a killer without power.
General pickrate of Singu seems extremely low. At least i have only faced 2 or 3 during the whole last chapter. It also seemed that those were players trying to finish the archives mission.
Maybe i expressed myself wrong, there probably are some people enjoying Singu. Just like there are 4 people still enjoying playing as Twins. The majority of players don´t seem to like playing as him, but like playing against him.
Larry is definitely an acquired taste, but his difficulty isn't anything crazy. Once you get over that initial step of figuring out the proper flow the only real challenge after that is managing Slipstream on Survivors.
His pickrate also seems pretty average in my experience. He's definitely no Wesker or Xeno but he's no Twins or Hag either.
I think all its going to take is 1 or a few content creators to truly show his potential and just point the playerbase in the right direction with him. I've only gone against one person that was playing Larry in the proper way and actually taught me a few things, but they weren't anything crazy, just some neat little tricks to catch people off guard.
You should really give him another shot. He's actually a really fun killer once you get the hang of him

1 i said comes to mind so yes pinhead is also in soloq sweeper list.
2 tell me how you can solve it? you cant without removing it dude.
It can not necessarily be solved as a full group of friends who understand each other will always be better than 4 strangers regardless of what tools you give them.
Removing the ability to play with your friends will kill this game faster than anything else that could possibly happen in this game as its basically a staple in gaming today.

So i get that you are maining Singularity, yes?
Hows your kill rate compared to other killers?
I do not main Singularity but as with every killer that releases I play them almost exclusively to get an understanding of them.
As for killrate, its nothing I keep track of since I dont see a point, but the large majority of my games I still 4k with only using Broken Security Key and Ultrasonic Sensor 99% of the time. Build is nothing crazy either, being Surge, NWY, STBFL and BBQ
-
1. Amazed Pinhead isnt mentioned here as hes by far the worst offender when it comes to his performance against Solo and SWF
2. Your solution is to just delete SWF??? What???
-
Sounds to be like one of you had a shotty connection and you got hit regged
-
@Tsulan said:
The amount of effort someone has to put into Singularity to make it work, stands in no comparison to the results.
Time is better spent mastering Nurse or Blight.
Unsurprisingly, the only ones that seem to like Singularity are Survivor mains.
Singularity only has an initial step to take and the rest flows easily
Also if were talking about getting the most bang for your buck in terms of results, you could say the same for quite literally any killer as no one even comes close to Nurse or Blight
Sincerely, a killer main

It is not copium, in the last months there has being a rise in the number of cheaters in the game and a number of post of different people along with it saying the same. Some of them are obvious, others very subtle (or trying to be):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_K5dFUQ3eQ&t=155s
https://imgur.com/a/jgNP2EJ#khIAORG
And I had another 2 waiting to edit the video and send it as proof, one Leon that didn't get two hits and an Ash that was speed hacking and had the same speed slugged as running.
So, it is a real problem.
Im not saying cheaters dont exist, its just people are just obviously exaggerating the amount of cheaters they go against in posts like these. Some times even describing a scenario where cheats were most likely not in play but they were outplayed so theyre hoping they were just for an excuse.

One is undisputedly the 2nd best Killer in the game and the other is a very sad husk of what he used to be. It’s like comparing an intramural player and MLB player because they both play baseball.
In you're example its as if you're comparing a master blight to a beginner as at the end of the day they are given the exact same tools, its just one of them has more experience
Blight and Billy are different in their own ways but their power are still similar, as mentioned before, since they both provide aid in chase and mobility. One is just obviously better than the other but that doesn't stop them from being compared.
If you want a better example of 2 killers that are compared to each other, Nemesis and Xeno. Both have short ranged attack, and they both have their ups and downs.

I have concluded most people here don’t play Killer at all. The idea that traps are comparable to drones is absurd, but the comment gets upvoted.
But in a way they are comparable since both are defensive tools, similar to how people compare Blight and Billy because both of their powers are used for mobility and chase
-
Last year in September we got one of the most iconic antogonists in gaming who turned out to be one of the best designed killers this games ever had
This year we got one of the legends in horror, but their gameplay was definitely less than desirable
-
Gideon needs a rework, not just some pallets removed
-
Doctor, Sadako, and Merchant are all killers who became more viable after their reworks
Dont know what youre on about that they got nothing in return
-
Its a tech that still has counterplay and adds an extra layer to a chase. People just for whatever reason think its the issue when in reality its just Blight himself and his add ons
-
2 or even 3 gens popping early isn't all that rare, nor is it the end of the game. How ever it happening as often as you're saying as well as averaging 3 hooks a game tells me one thing, and that's you're overcommitting WAY too much on your first chase and probably and other chases afterwards. Learn when to let go, and split the pressure evenly between all 4 of them.
Also you don't just "try" tunneling as its something you do when you see the opportunity presents it self. Tunneling to create opportunities is something very rarely done, and usually only works out if the Survivors you're up against aren't efficient in the slightest.

You can dodge it. I know this because I worked on dodging it.
Anyways, I understood your point from what you wrote in the previous post. Your writing was perfectly clear. However, Scott Jund stating the same thing in a more autistic fashion does not change what I participated in.
I think, we are just going to disagree on this topic. Weather we define dodge differently, make different assumptions about intelligent tail use, or hold different media figures in mind as authorities on the topic, doesn't much matter, because we disagree on too many points to even found a discussion on the topic.
I mean you can dodge it on prediction, that I can agree on. How ever there are very rare cases where such is required on Xeno's end.
The Scott thing was simply to showcase footage of somebody dodging it just like you said, it just wasnt on reaction.
I mainly hold this opinion because of another game that I play, being For Honor of which I have over 2k hours, (DbD I have over 6k hours). It being a heavily reaction based game has taught me a thing or 2 about 'reacting' and 'reading'.
Some things can be a read which then leads to a reaction, which is precisely what Xeno is. If you turn a corner and Xeno has to ready his tail before he turns the corner to get a last second hit, you can read that he's going to go for it, and then react to him turning the corner. At the end of the day how ever, thats still a prediction, one of which is heavily in Xeno's favor and doesnt feel good at all on the Survivor end.
Spirit and Slinger as mentioned before are 2 killers who were in the same boat as Xeno and were able to come out just fine. No reason to believe the same cant be said for Xeno

Meg
She was the first Survivor and character I got to Prestige 3 all the way back in 2017, reason why I did it was because as a new player I learned about Legacy Prestige and saw a Meg running the full fit for the first time and was in awe. Around that time as well they removed the brown and yellow map offerings, as well as the moonlight offerings. So I wanted to get P3 out of the way as soon as I could for the off chance other offerings or items that were similar would be removed, and that Legacy would come back.
-
Tuesday the 12th or Wednesday the 13th of October the patch should be live, then on the 26th the PTB for the next chapter should be live

I was actually in the process of writing a mega thread in the bug report section of all animations or things that were misaligned for killers. I got all the way to like Clown, internet went out, forgot to save it, and the entire thing was gone.
Of course it didn't have everything listed as I don't play every single killer enough to know all the little animation bugs, but I knew a good chunk of them

The tail can be dodged. I recorded a lot of it being dodged. I just kept swinging and the player kept dodging. That is what happened.
You don't agree. However, I can not change the events I participated in. Nothing said will undo the tail being dodged. Across a car, easy dodge. Smash the duck button. Down the Midwich hall, a little harder, have to pick right or left.
I have no suggestions for any changes to the Xenomorph.
