the combo died after the Billy overheat nerf tbh That was almost the stereotypical hillbilly build for awhile
True, but I also found that Wraith and Bubba were frequent users too.
It really just faded away

Enduring + Spirit Fury
That combo was seen almost ALL the time back in the day

Absolutely bizarre statement when 3-gen meta Skull Merchant was a thing not so long ago. It's hard to top one hour match limit and a killer that won't chase you for boring.
And that's only scratching the surface of builds and killers that have existed over the years, for every definition of boring that you can use. Basement Bubba? Boxblocker Pig? OG Undying? Forever Freddy? Pre-nerf Thana Legion/Plague running pure slowdown? Eruption and CoBercharge?
CoBerchange made me giggle

Don’t hate me for this but I think Forever Freddy before they gutted him to his current pitiful state was the most boring. It was such a slog of a match when the player equipped every add-on and perk slot with a slowdown.
Not that it justified his brutal slaughtering, it was just soooooo tedious.
Yeahh Forever Freddy sucked, Merchant and Knight (when Erup/CoB were meta) was worst though

Itd be chaotic...

So yet another perk brought into the survivor meta for killers to complain about? It used to be "just bring Distortion!"
With Weave we were told to pick up the items and put them in a far off corner. What can we do about pallets? Until survivors can break them or pick them up and move them into a corner too, the new ZT is ridiculous I'm sorry. You can bring Any Means Necessary but it still benefits the killer because the pallet is still there for them to use. It makes unarguably the most important survivor resource a killer resource. Honestly one of the most laughable perk changes I've seen to date.
There seems to be an increasing tendency from the devs these days to make changes to or release survivor perks that benefit the killer. Alot of the new chapter survivor perks require a large survivor time investment for minimal team or personal reward.
I'm not sure who the devs are listening to on these changes but they need to stop.
Aight Im gonna be honest I wasnt aware of the duration aspect of the perk, I thought it was just a flat distance with no lingering
Yeah that aint going to live lol

Oh, current Zanshin is terrible, but that doesn't mean turning it into one of the strongest wallhack perks in the game is a good change. Especially when it's in the same update that kills the best survivor anti-aura tool. That's more than usable on Pyramid Head, it's meta. I'm All Ears on steroids.
I'd be… somewhat okay with the Zanshin update if survivors were shown that the killer has it, but as it is, it's Schrodinger's wallhacks. The only non-losing play is to leave the loop, but you can't react to it if you can't identify it and there's a few killers who can abuse the hell out of it because they don't need to destroy most pallets.
Most pallets in the game have short walls, and those who have tall walls are usually safe loops that force a kick in most scenarios (Jungle Gyms, Long/Short walls, main buildings, etc) making only really a few killers able to take advantage of it.
Also, people are gonna have to adapt to the aura meta with a perk that has been WAY too underrated for way too long, and thats Object of Obsession.

Who the hell actually thinks Zanshin is good in its current state???
The reworked version will actually be usuable, especially on certain killers like PH

An idea I had for a buff would be for each hook on a different survivor Ruin gains additional 25% in regression. So it starts at 100% then goes to 125, 150, 175, and finally 200%
Thats... actually not a bad idea!

As much as I hate Chucky myself, no killer deserves the Freddy or Skully treatment

I had no clue what it was. Don't restrict games to Steam or to any one single platform. It's 2024, there's no reason to do that.
Maybe if it was available to be wishlisted on PS, XBOX, and Switch as well, maybe there would have been more interest or even knowledge that it existed.
I hope this didn't come off disrespectful, it's just that ignoring console is not a good thing when the DBD playerbase is mainly console when combined.
It wasnt even available to be wishlisted on Steam either, the game was simply open to be playtested.

Invocation: Switcheroo
Your starting hand may have not been in your favor, but you still have a few tricks in mind.
When in the Basement and healthy near the circle, press the Active Ability button to begin the Invocation, which takes 60 seconds to complete.
During an Invocation, your Aura is revealed to all other Survivors and they can join in, accelerating the process by +100 %, if they too have an Invocation Perk equipped, or by +50 %, if they have not. Once the Invocation is completed, the following effects apply:
- Heal all Survivors for one health state at the cost of your own
- If a Survivor is currently in chase or has been chased less than 20 seconds ago, swap places with them and stun the killer if within a 12 meter range for 3/4/5 seconds.
Completing an Invocation disables all Invocation Perks for the remainder of the Trial for all Survivors.
-
If you are playing with the sole purpose of trying your absolute hardest to win and are having trouble doing so it means you inflated your MMR. Play what you enjoy, and eventually youll go back to something more comfortable and enjoyable.

She lacks mobility so she's countered hard by genrush perks and most maps have tall obstacles and airwalls, all these makes her actually terrible.
A killer who lacks mobility in exchange for one of the strongest chase abilities in the game which can potentially hit you across the map is a damn good trade. There's a reason she's remained on the higher end of tierlists for years now.
-
This made me giggle way too much thank you friend :)

@SoGo said:
I’ll say remove her completely, give people who bought her a refund, rework her from the ground up (upgraded or a completely new power, fixed lore and tonally consistent cosmetics) and re-release her into the game.
Might as well do it instead of creating this fiasco.
The idea behind her is not completely off brand and her themes are there, its the lack of background and engaging gameplay thats the issue here. Mainly where did she get the inspiration for using drones? Was it from the manga or was it just something she thought of herself?
Also the drones mechanic when it was first released, as well as now just doesnt feel right... I do like the idea of Lock-On but she doesnt feel like the stealthy-predator that we see in her lore.
I could easily see her being another stalk esque killer, give her the ability the crouch and while crouching she can stalk to give lock on. While also in crouch she gains the ability to perform a leap, which injures on hit or insta downs if theyre fully locked on. Survivors can also be locked on from drones. Said drones dont have a visual on their range, making them more stealthy. A Survivor may hack and disable a drone, but leaves them with a claw trap for some time. While they have a claw trap they cannot gain lock on. Any Survivor who is locked on or has a claw trap is revealed on her radar.
She has the foundation to being a good character, its just they need to do it right
-
I wouldnt say the phantom animatronics are unlikely considering Springtrap is almost a guarantee, and its most likely gonna be his FNaF 3 itteration
-
Since his rework a few months back, no, nothing has changed. That first part however has never changed, other than Main Event being able to be activated after just 8 blades which is probably the stupidest part of his kit.
Apart from that, Trickster believe it or not has very similar counterplay to Nurse, in the sense that you absolutely want to stay out of line of sight for as long as you can, you also ALWAYS want to keep your distance, ESPECIALLY if youre in a deadzone.
You hear that Lullaby? Book it, since it seems people have finally started to realize that stealth perks are actually a good choice on him (His Lullaby works differently than other killers. Its loudest point is actually in the middle of the Lullaby, and it gradually gets quieter as he gets farther/closer)
Ive always loved playing Trickster, but wasnt necessarily too much a fan of playing against him until somewhat recently. Being able to outplay and stay out of sight long enough to be able to start to decay is a very rewarding feeling, and made me appreciate him that much more.

I never said anything about being in the dream world for long periods of time?
What I said was that he got complained about because people didn’t want to learn the counter to his ability to even hit survivors was a single button (skill check button).
Again, that wasnt the reason. People were well aware that failing a skill check brought them out of the dream, (which sort of implies theyve been in it for a longer period of time) the complaint was the free hit he was given, which just wasnt true and its only after the nerfs that people realized that.
I was there during those times and I was a newer player at the time. That was my main complaint and the smaller communities I was apart of at the time shared the same sentiment.
-
@totallynotamegmain said:
the point isn’t that self care was “needed” to counter his power, the point is that missing any skill check countered his power, and self care was everywhere at the time. And nobody wanted to learn that so there was a review bomb complaining about him that got him slammed with nerfs before his rework
The reason why people were claiming he was "overpowered" and review bombed is because he was "given a free hit". It had nothing to do with being in the Dream World for long periods of time.

Many years back they had offerings called Splinters, now retired. They would allow you to play as a Myers or Freddy with them, but without any perks that match. Kinda a trial run with some of the DLC killers back then.
Part of me understands that they were probably removed because of licensing issues, but it still doesnt explain why theyd remove them for original characters. Having that trial run with their 3 perks at lvl 1 would be perfect for newer players.

Healing going from 12 seconds to 16 seconds.
Now please, tell me how those are killer buffs or QoL

This is one of the few things that genuinely annoy me every time I try to use it. Also screws up my screenshots since I liked taking screenshots with all 3 of the iri charms equiped for a character while showing off their prestiged. Can't do that anymore which is the main reason why im upset -
The Twins
They watched their mother burn alive, then were experimented on. Once they finally broke free, Victor was the one to pay the price. Charlotte then had to spend the rest of her life struggling to survive by scavenging for anything she could find, all while carrying her dead brother.
Their behavior is purely out of hatred only because thats all theyve been taught.

It’s got a 30% pick rate because it’s the only slowdown worth using and it’s alternatives are worse. And you were hearing it was overpowered for about 4 years straight.
And yes actually I hear people say it is overpowered still so that point can be completely tossed out the window.
Like I said Windows belongs in the game for sure, but denying it’s overpowered is absurd imo. I have a hard time thinking of any perk that is better that survivors have. Maybe exhaustion perks but even then that’s questionable.
You hear them say its overpowered just as much as Windows, and both points are equally as absurd. Its high pickrate most likely stems from most people playing in SoloQ (official stats
Having good game can only get you so far, since you may see a loop that has a perfectly fine window that could of been used but because your teammates are more inexperienced they opt to using the pallet, at which case you might only find out until its too late.
Id say Windows has about the same strength as Kindred. They basically make it so you dont make a mistake purely because you lacked information, which wouldnt be the case if you were in a SWF.
-
@HexHuntressThighs said:
Exhaustion perks are lame anyways. They need to do something cool like allow you to grab onto a killer from behind that's carrying a survivor to slow them down by like 10-15% and give it a 2 minute exhaustion. Something that is actually more interesting than a brainless hold W to gain instant value.
But Drama could have a shorter cooldown considering it exposes you sometimes. And smash hit and BGP have a 20 second cooldown
As some one who uses Dramaturgy, and have seen people use Dramaturgy in the correct way, having a 20 second cooldown would deadass make it overpowered. Were talking about a sudo OG Dead Hard which would be available every chase, and youd be able to easily cycle out the Exposed outside of chase since you cant get the same effect twice in a row. Hell the exposed doesnt even matter 90% of the time unless you use it as a desperate attempt of reaching some place if youre in a really bad position, in which case you should wait right before you get hit so you can get the speed burst.
Its such a slept on perk its insane, making it even stronger would be even more insane

Because for some reason people aren't very knowledgable when it comes to this game. 30% plus pick rate on a not free perk tells you everything you need to know.
Pain Res is also a not free perk and also has almost a 30% pick rate, yet you dont hear anyone nowadays complaining about the perk being OP
-
@HexHuntressThighs said:
It is insane how much value it gives but new survivors desperately need that perk honestly.
It’s definitely overpowered whether survivors like to admit it or not, if it wasn’t; it wouldn’t have an over 30% pick rate. I got my first ever four gen chase the first time I ever used it.
WoO and overpowered are words I never even considered to be seen in the same sentence.
Bravo 👏👏

yeas but if i had a med kit on its own i get 1 full heal, because it will deduct 8 charges for the debuff of 33%.
If I then add 16 more charges thats 2 heals.
No, because you need 24 charges to heal and if you add 16 then you only have 40

A full heal takes 16 charges it says it on the med kits
Takes 16 charges to heal some one else, for yourself it takes 24 due to efficiency debuff on self heal

A full self heal takes 24 charges, which is the default amount of charges a medkit has

I don't think survivors have ever had base gameplay nerfed, except for warping to the other side of the pallet. Ironically they still warp into the pallet stun animation, just in a different way. Bloodlust and Entity Blocker, I consider killer buffs. Map size/pallet count reduction, I consider map changes. The only thing that came close was when new survivor running animations were proposed, because they made more sense with how survivors run and turn, and survivors cried until it got undone because it made 360s hard to do.
Because nothing spells unfair like losing your ability to rob a killer of a point-blank, deserved hit. Why not disappear off their fov in .2 seconds? That's what other self-respecting games do, right? Combined with aim dressing, and killer's inconsistently pea-sized hitbox, it simply helps survivors express skill.
"I don't think survivors have ever had base gameplay nerfed"
Aight now you cappin aint no way
-
well you see it all started when the DSi came out, which made it everyones primary pick. Then the 3DS came out and people went bonkers over that! And then they kept improving on the 3DS until eventually they just made the Nintendo Switch...
In all seriousness its about consistency. DS not only has a less likelyhood of activating, but also may not net you much distance against certain killers than OtR would give you. OtR also had the added bonus of making you silent and prevents aura reading.
-
Its based on how fast you can "win" chases which is injuring/downing someone.
Legion is extremely good at this since he constantly enters chases quickly, getting a hit and running off to do the same to some one else.
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
Because it is…….."technically". That's the big takeaway. If you take a survivor team that makes no mistakes, they are guaranteed to always win. If you take a killer that makes no mistakes, they can still lose. When survivors get enough experience to take advantage at the multitude of tools they have to use against the killer, matches essentially come down to killers capitalizing on survivor mistakes. In general, the game is absolutely survivor sided…BUT…when you take the whole population of DBD, very little survivors have that much experience to "make no mistakes".
TLDR; Survivors have the potential to always win, but reaching that level of "no mistakes" is nearly unachievable. The survivors have ALL of the tools to always win, but it's incredibly difficult to properly use those tools at the right time. Killers, on the other hand, win by taking advantage of survivors failing to use those tools to their max potential.
There are some exceptions to this - a couple of killers are fundamentally broken (they bypass all the rules that keep killers in check by design) where even the best survivors will fail. This is a killer specific issue on those particular killers and not killers as a whole. That's why in tournaments you almost always see just nurse's and blights. At high level play, those survivor players typically have more experience to understand the tools survivors have against killers, so standard killers just aren't viable at high MMR. Many tournaments acknowledge this issue, so many of them put in rules that survivors have to play by (for example, only one deliverable per team allowed) in order to try to nerf survivors enough where other killers can be picked (no one wants to just see nurse and blight only every game). That's right, at high level play, survivors are so broken, they get restrictions applied to them in tournament play just to give killers a chance to win.
Correction: You dont just see Nurse and Blight all the time since most tourneys (at least DbDLeague) uses preset killers. (I think at one point it was a sort of pick and ban system, but I havent been keeping tabs as of late) Meaning specific rounds were dedicated to specific killers. So you would see Clown, Wraith, Doc, Legion, etc. The higher tier killers were usually reserved for later in the tournament.
EDIT: Here's the DbDLeague channel which shows comp matches, youll see just by the thumbnails a variety of different killers are played
