  • Im also wondering if Sync is still playing up, it's been terrible the last few days as it is

  • @Langweilig said:

Would be cool, but that will never happen since Chucky is a from different license

Yeah I know, but then we riot till we get our way :P

  • This is Defo a "bug" I'm sure it will get fixed once the games gotten enough promo.

  • Fair at least I know now, guessing I'm only now seeing it as knights being played way more

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

    What does that even mean?

You can set interactions in the settings to toggle or hold, but most of the time toggle is nice when working on gens, some might say essential, but its not ideal for getting gates and heals to 99% as you have to keep quickly double clicking the M1 button once you get closer to the end of the interaction bar.

Takes 16 charges to heal some one else, for yourself it takes 24 due to efficiency debuff on self heal

yeas but if i had a med kit on its own i get 1 full heal, because it will deduct 8 charges for the debuff of 33%.

If I then add 16 more charges thats 2 heals.

Since they reworked medkits a while back. the 33% debuff affects add-ons, the charge add-ons are affected by the efficiency penalty

When you say a while how long do you mean, as I have been double healing with them as little as 1 week ago

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Medkits have a 33% speed and efficiency penalty to self healing now. It got changed mid-2023.

A full heal takes 16 charges it says it on the med kits

  • @OrangeBear said:

A full heal takes 16 charges, but medkits have a 33% efficiency and speed penalty when self healing. So a self heal requires 24 because of that, so you would need 48 charges to get a medkit that heals yourself twice.

Since when? 24 charges standard, minus 33% is 16 ( 1 heal on self ) 16 charges via add-ons then give 2 heals, the 33% debuff is given before add-ons

  • Since when, it's always been 16 charges to heal yourself with a med kit

  • I mean, I was just asking a general question, we should probably all remember we enjoy playing this game, because the way some of you all are writing, you'd think this game murdered a family member for real or something and revenge and hatred are the only emotions you have left.

I mean either way those streaks are much smaller than the Killer streaks, they are on coms, and they are from years ago when the game had not gotten as killer sided as it is now. I would guess they would not be able to get as high of a streak now that killer has been buffed so much, and even back then killers were still getting the higher streaks. Just sick of reading the echo chambers of delusional killer mains claiming the game is still survivor sided when at this point it is more killer sided then it has ever been.

So I haven't really commenting even though this is my post, but my guy, this game has been survivor sided since release. The 4 best survs will always beat the best Killer, thats the nature of the beast.

The fact it's 4v1 alone makes it more surv sided. Just saying, been playing like 7 years and it's been like that always.

  • Maybe like 24 meters max, even 16 might be ok

  • @jesterkind said:

No, I don't think that's an appropriate change.

I think if you want to nerf Windows - and that's kind of a shaky proposition right now since it really doesn't warrant it - a better nerf would be to shrink its range a little bit. Right now it has a range of 32 metres, that could hypothetically be changed.

Not much reason to do that right now, though.

Yeah tbh, thats a good idea.

  • Yeah thats an idea maybe. I was wondering the same thing about Windows of Opportunity, but giving it a 10 second cool down, nothing to drastic. 30 seconds was to long before, but 10 seems fair, especially as it's so used right now due to it's strength.

  • It's happening on 1s he owns, and original Characters. will ask him to contact u guys

Currently if you have an effect that prevents screaming, you can't trigger scene partner because screaming is a requirement for the aura reading. Since Scene Partner never activates, hardened didn't block a scream to aura read either.

Thank you, that was my gut feeling but had to be sure

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Detective's Hunch specifically states that it adds the things it reveals to a map. It's unique in that regard, other aura reading perks don't add to maps.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

That would just be clunky and annoying. A lot of loops you have to take tightly in this game and it'd intefere with that a lot.

I get what you mean , but I was thinking it would have to be a face first hit, nothing would happen if your skimming loops.

Kind of like if your running to a window but looking behind you and miss the window.

  • I think camping, tunneling, slugging, leaving your team mate on hook to finish the last gen, and leaving your team mate on hook to escape yourself are all fine, and no this is not satire.

Whelp, this thread is going down soon. The mods are ignoring this one unfortunately.

    why?

  • But why promote our differences as a means of solving the issue?

If you are you, and I am me, and we are human, then surely we don't need to add anything else to it.

If we segregate ourselves into all these groups, then all we are doing is bringing attention to our differences like they are something to be analyzed, rather then saying I am a human just like you, so I am going to act like a human and do what we humans do.

My Dad once said something to me that never left me.

He said, "Back when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, all I wanted was to be able to walk down the road safely, and to be treated like everybody else, like a human being, rather then be treated like I was some abomination or different to anyone else around me, nothing more."

That changed my perspective forever, he didn't want pride marches, special representation and to be singled out for the way he was born, he just wanted to live his life like everyone else.

I think the world we live in now is many, many times better then the world my Dad grew up in, now a days if you walk down the road holding hands with a same sex partner, or in clothes people don't think you belong in, sure maybe a few people will be idiotic, but that number is significantly smaller then it was, and gets smaller every day.

All the battles have been one, all we are waiting for is the War to end, and time will see to that.

Duo lockers are majorly broken. If you talk about what needs to be adressed, then you have 2 factors: frequency and impact. Impact is definitely a 10 out of 10 and as bad as other things like the infinite Reassurance which HAVE to go. If it has an impact of 1/10 but frequency of 10/10 then in all environments I know, the more impactful thing has the higher priority. The only things that are at a higher priority are things with also a 10 of 10 impact and a higher frequency, like the bug when survivors got stuck at the corner of the hill or when killers were glitched and not able to hook survivors.

Things like unbalanced maps are a well known and huge issue in the game, which means it has a frequency like 10/10. But the game is still playable even with unbalanced maps. The double locker scenario is simply a dead end for the killer. I would agree that map balancing is actually the higher priority, but especially in this case I guess the effort to solve this issue is like x100 compared to fixing locker abuse.

We can continue the list of validity/sample size arguments, like your post game chats only spread around your specific MMR and region. The thing I wanted to point out is, that you may surely have and say your opinion, but you can't rely on it and state it as fact. Which you didnt. I just wanted to say "different opinion here" and make clear that you might not have seen the whole picture yet. And BHVR probably has it, as they have stats to look at (surely discussable if their fixing priorities and stats analysis is good or bad, but they definitely have a bigger picture than we have)

What shocked me most about your post was that you actually responded constructively and like an adult, something rare in forums so I thank you whole heartedly for that.

I can also see where you are coming from regarding my MMR and area being an issue when it comes to data, something I didn't take into account if I am honest as it slipped my mind, so thank you for pointing it out.

Is the group of people you know and play with big enbough of an example size to say that it is valid to call out such a thing?

I think learning flashlight saves is a pretty rough thing to learn, if not the hardest on survivor side. I think even looping is easier to learn (excluding having to learn every killer power to know appropriate counterplay).

And locker saves were necessary to go. The pure existence of double lockers giving immunity to 2 survivors with a flashlight each is pretty much the definition of a design flaw. Giving complete locker blind immunity might be a bit over the top, but in my opinion still better than having double locker abuse in the game

The locker blinds I understand but it wasn't nearly as impactful as say medkits, people have seen the YT vids and tried to do it to me and I just slugged the heck out of them for it which worked fine. Again I understand though that it is somewhat and exploit that needs addressing, it just isn't something that was needed to be address by the Devs before other things that really need attention.

My group of friends is small as I started playing years before them, but playing with them has shown me how fast saves can be learnt.

Other then that my sample size is solo que experience and talking to people in end game chat and on forums.

Unfortunately you need sensitivity turned up to full for pretty much everything else.

Yeah kind of see what you mean, an example being so you can look around easier, but I play on 35 give or take 5 sensitivity depending on how I am on the day, and It is still fine.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/352632/flashlight-timing-extra-time-to-make-a-save-devs-can-you-respond-please

Gotta ask. If you say most people have the timing down and new players seem to learn the timing quick enough anyway then what does it matter if this change is made. Surely, according to the way you put it, it won't actually make any difference in the game then why does it matter if its there or not?

If devs want to change something that will effect the 10% that are struggling what does it matter?

As a killer main i welcome this change because means more flashlights and less medkits/toolboxes in the lobby, Its a gen rush nurf :)

I'm not saying they shouldn't makes changes, I am just saying there is alot more in DbD that needs their attention more.

Medkits are a great example, people have had issues with them for years but no change, yet flash light timing gets done with barely a whimper from people in the way of complaints, that's what I mean when I say it is unnecessary.

  • @Seraphor said:

Everyone on console would like to disagree.

If flashlight saves are "so easy" on PC, why can't they be easy on console too?

I play PC and console and I have no issues on either. I use to on console until i turned my sensitivity down a bit.

  • @Laluzi said:

The reason this is happening is because the recent change to flashlights that stops macros/click spamming made it so that adjusting your flashlight during a blind (if you started too early) is now impossible.

Plenty of people were complaining about that, so BHVR made the blind window more forgiving as a result.

I hear you, but it is still not necessary in my opinion, most people that I play with, including Randoms, seem to be getting the blinds just fine even with the correction click gone.

  • Killers running their own perks is scarily bad for them tbh lol.

After years and years, I learned to not take this game super serious anymore. I've won a bit of cash on gift cards during tournaments but the stress during it wasn't worth the $50-$100 gift cards for each 1st and 2nd place wins. Once you relax, the game becomes much more enjoyable. Sometimes the game WILL screw you, other times I've ran into VPN killers who would hit me from literally 8 steps from a window and around a wall. I've had VPN'ers as killer who would start lagging all over the place and cause me to miss a few swings because their ping went from 70 to 650-990 ping when they're about to die.

Could be lagswitchers, who knows? Point is, this game is against real people. When you win, they lose. When you lose, they win. A side HAS to LOSE. Show respect and even when you lose, you'll usually get survivors who are super nice to you in end game chat and some will even let you hook them at the end twice or even die for you if they had a lot of fun. Not everyone is a sweat lord. Some people just want to mess around. You got this, Gorik. Just don't take everything serious. Trust me, this game has a way of getting under your skin very quickly when everything is sour. Just let it ride and soon, you'll enjoy it much more.

I feel you on that. I have screenshots on Steam against a Team that SWEARS I was face camping 2 different people and it was on "stream" but wouldn't show it. Went to my emblems and had 0 Proximity To Hook on it. Some people will throw every excuse for losing instead of just accepting that they played poorly or were outplayed. There's no shame in it.

It's forever in my steam screenshots for everyone to see xD Funny enough, I've met the same team about 7 months later and guess what? Same thing. Curb stomped them while 3 hooking (I don't camp or tunnel) and they accused me of gen camping. Sometimes you cannot win. Final thing, I try not to punish the unhooked for a rushed unhook.

I always go for the unhooker to give everyone a fair shake at a fun match. Same if someone is afk and I down them at the beginning of a match. I won't hook. I'll just leave. Does it hurt my game? A little, yes but do I get hate comments if I still win afterwards? Not usually. It's why I have so many positive comments.

I've went against a few big streamers who've signed my wall like Monto, OhTofu and even an old dev McLean, who was SUPER sweet. Its just how you play. I curb stomped them also but I always gave everyone a fair chance at survival because winning might feel good but doing it downing someone who had no chance to even run isn't skill.

Beating up a paralyzed person in a fight doesn't make you a badass, does it? So why do people say it's fair to attack someone who was immediately unhooked and goes down again (this was before BT built in) then act like it was skillful? Or playing Bubba and face camping someone to death? Or Hag/Trapper placing a ton of traps around the basement?

People can try to justify this by saying it's skill but all you're doing is beating up a disabled person who cannot help themselves and it disgusts me. Those instances, people deserve to get an earful. Otherwise, survivors who make excuses need to learn how to lose with dignity. At least, this is how I play and I usually 4k with any killer. 6 years, over 7k hours. Even use to be competitive but stopped because of stress.

Could do with a few more of you in Solo.

I'm with you to a point with not going for the unhooked, but if I know BT has worn off and I am getting destroyed, then I don't mind going for the guy whos just unhooked.

I still tend to slug even then incase of DS, damn that perk has scared me mentally over the years.

When I die the reaper will remove his hood and the DS emblem will be staring back at me with cold malice.

I have had the same when it comes to apparently camping. No proximity, got the proof for them to see, etc and I am still a camping, tunneling piece of freshly deficated sustenance.

I hope your stress levels have dropped a little more and you can just enjoy the game.

Hopefully I will bump into you in game on 1 side or the other sometime.

It's fun being the bad guy ain't it 😎

The worst for me is when I get a huge map like Eyrie and dump somebody in the basement, praying that ANYBODY will come trade or give me some interaction but instead I get people coming to just gawk at me until the poor guy dies andthen suddenly it's all my fault, ezzzzz you're trash etc.

I feel you so much on this.

As Killer I pray for the trade, as Survivor I can't understand why staring at me un till I die on hook, is a better strategy then say, doing a Gen, or trading 1 for 1.

    it boggles the mind.

All good, Man! Some people rush hooks but there are multiple reasons for doing so. It's not cut and dry from what I've experienced over the years. Some are desperate for points because other's do the same and screw them out of emblems.

Sometimes the killer is camping and they have to do a trade since a 3 vs 1 is guaranteed loss at 4-5 gens left against any decent killer. Could be a Rift challenge from the past. They might think it's safe because of a killers power (like Pig and Freddy), perks like Insidious and tinkerer and sometimes even an accident. Might just throw their lives away for that last save attempt.

Finally, They just don't care about a random but not every scenario is the same. Just some food for thought.

I get you brother, I play both roles a lot so I get the need to do things at times.

It's just the whole... " The Killer is the bad guy and there for tunneling etc is an issue the devs need to fix."

    that's what ticks me off.

Never mind that they did it to themselves, it's tunneling Killers and Devs that don't care that are always apparently to blame.

if you run at the Killer for any reason expect to be killed, don'[t give the Killer a hard time for it sort of thing.

I know this is obv stuff, but today it's really under my skin.

Camping works. I've lost three times in the last two months to the same streamer who goes on 100-game win streaks just by playing dirty, i.e. camping and tunneling. Nothing has been done as far as time for a survivor to reach second or death stage on hook but gens have been increased by 10 seconds. That's a buff to camping. Add No Way Out, Deadlock, and whatever else it guarantees at least a 2k. If the killer is competent it's a 4k. Camping is also a reason why survivors want out of matches early.

Thana's strong because DBD has entered a new era. Gens are 90 seconds, the developers changed their position on this. They used they were going to increase them past 80 seconds. That was tested. Now that it is changed, Thana is a double nerf to gens.

I play solo survivor. I'm not new and not a bot. I've watched streamers way better than I am play solo survivor since the update. They're not escaping much more than I am.

My dude trust me I know what your saying and I do sympathize to a point, I have been playing a while to and yeah there is definitely a shake up.

But 1 stack of Thana against a Dr or even 2 isn't really much of an issue. And dead lock blocks 1 gen, go do another then go back to the Dead locked gen after 30 seconds if you can, I can't defend No Way Out to much, it's just strong, but still it's countered by splitting up on Gates.

STBFL is the only perk that needs a slight nerf atm as essentially it has 10 stack now with the buff, which is to much when you add the less distance from being hit.

And it's not impossible in solo to deal with camping, last night a face camping Bubba messed up as we harassed him around hook and we all got out, that was in Solo to all 4 of us, but it was 4 people who knew what to do.

Even when you watch streamers, the biggest issue is team mates not doing gens, or helping to get unhooks, or pallet camping rather then looping, or self caring in a corner etc, lets be honest that's been solo que for years, that's why people wanted accurate MMR, and accurate MMR would solve so many issues in Solo.

  • @Alcuin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3103820#Comment_3103820

Killers run Thana because Thana is strong on all killers. Just because it's broken on Plague and Legion doesn't mean it's not strong on the rest of the killer roster.

As to your point about solo survivors giving up, it's pretty obvious that was going to happen. What did killer mains call camping and tunneling prior to the update? "Legitimate strats" or "viable strats". They have been buffed with the update, just like gen times were nerfed. When the solo survivor sees the little red Thana icon pop up after the first injury, the thought is "here we go again". Camping and tunneling, still legitimate strats. Gens nerfed. Double nerf because Thana is META.

Killers don't have to be the center of attention at all times. Asking to be the power role, claiming victimhood because 4k's shouldn't be handed out like candy, saying solo survivors are to blame for all their problems. On an on. Shouldn't have claiming camping and tunneling were anything other than broken, low-effort ways to cheat the other side. That's what's boring.

Camping doesn't work unless you need to secure a kill and things are desperate any half decent Killer knows that.

I will tunnel the dude off hook if the unhooker goes full stelth and the unhooked has left scratch marks everywhere, I need to do my objective and if the unhooker doesn't take aggro and has hid in a locker or whatever, why complain at the killer for tunneling? ( This happens A LOT btw ).

No one should be given kills or escapes.

Thana may be stronger but on Drs and Trappers? That's just a really poor perk to use on them and the Killer is obv trying to Meta build badly.

I have had 1 surv give up since the update in game because it was range add ons Nurse and we would of won had he not 100%, even the Nurse said it.

The issue is playing solo with Survs who seem like they are literally new to the game, which has to be an MMR thing or bots.
