I don't think this is a teaser, just a fun little tweet.
-
Some people have played this game so much that they've memorized spawn locations or have a general idea where survivors spawn and B-Line straight towards you. Its a good indication that the killer your up against is pretty experienced and youre in for a treat
-
Well said, honestly theres 2 things this game needs, a better training like you mentioned and more info given to survivors as solo. They can do either VC for this or a ping system to better indicate whats happening

I had this same thing happen to me, i prestiged my Steve the other day and just today I got a third year streamer.
And I just prestiged my Nea like 2 months ago, but didn't touch her after getting her to P3 Level 15, after finishing that web I got the 3rd year party starter on the next

I think main problem is rank reset. If ranks wouldn't reset, players would be calibrated by ranks more accurate. Now we obviously see some gamers that don't belong to their ranks. But rank does mean skill, because you depip if you perform worse, and you rank up if you perform better.
It would actually do the opposite, and thats the problem with the current rank reset. Bad players who happen to go up to the high ranks stay at high ranks, it would be much better if it was like the old rank reset, where rank 1's got reset back to rank 15, at least then the actual good players would get to rank 1 first and it would stay like that for a while, because the only time I notice a difference in player skill, is at the beginning of rank reset, and those who are able to get to rank 1 quickly, and at the end of rank reset where the majority of players are just pure dog

It is not a joke. I actually see huge difference in skill between green ranks and red ranks.
I dont think were playing the same game, playing on an alt, got up to green ranks with it and ltierally there was no difference in gameplay from that alt account and my main, (rank 1 on my main btw) rank literally means nothing

I think ranks did show skill before.

The majority of competent killers will study their opponents and if they tunnel, they tunnel the weak link
So maybe they werent tunneling you for no reason
-
To do a flashlight save you need to know proper timing and where to aim, aiming is not that difficult its just a bit odd at first, as you need to aim where their camera is, which the majority of the time is not at their eyes, but more at their neck/upper torso. The timing is a little tricky when it comes to flashlight saves, you need to start blinding as the killer is adjusting the survivor on their shoulder. Blinding at a pallet or window is a bit easier and Id recommend sticking to those to practice the aiming. But dont do it at every pallet, do it when youre starting to run out of defensive options, as blinding the killer could buy you just enough time to get you somewhere safe. Hope this helps <3
EDIT: Another thing to add is you almost ALWAYS want to attempt a blind when the killer is locked in an animation. Doing otherwise will most likely result in you getting hit.
-
Im assuming it has something to do with when the devs accidentally released the dev build with Ghost Face, other content creators are doing similar things like Prop Hunt, adding their own models in game, etc.
-
Pretty good list, al though I wouldnt want MoM to revert back to its old self, I have PTSD of those days..
-
This tip can go to any game, be calm and stay focused. Especially in a game like DbD theres a lot that you need to pay attention and you need to take mental notes constantly. Id recommend recording some of your games and reviewing the ones you did poorly in and try to identify at least 5 mistakes. Then go into your next match and keep in mind those mistakes so you dont make them again. Soon enough youll become a much better player and you wont need to keep so many mental notes, itll just come naturaly

I dont do gens while chased point blank
So then whats the issue? How does this change promote tunneling? Any of the actions that deactivate DS you have to go out of your way mid chase to do.

Seems to me they are promoting tunneling rather than make it a true anti tunneling perk again i haven't used it many times because i only have it on laurie and david king
how? if youre doing gens you arent being tunneled

I only enjoy playing against him if he uses his power often. Being able to dodge the harpoon is just as satisfying as dodging Huntress hatchets and it makes chases fun.
However, most just chase you until they can either m1 you OR pull off a shot that can't be missed. On top of that he's a normal speed killer, but for some reason has a terror radius that feels smaller than a tier 2 Myers which is crap because he has a distance weapon. It's like going against a Huntress with a Tier 1 Myers terror radius and it's high key BS. They need to boost his terror radius
Never played with him because I hate him and refuse to do so.
He isnt a normal speed, hes 4.4m/s (110%) same as Huntress

"High level of play" doesnt exist in this game in pubs, majority of red ranks are still the same old Bill/Jane/Nancy's urban evading and doing absolutely nothing for their team. Also wheres your evidence suggesting so many PC players are cheating? Even tourney players? Some people have so many hours that they can tell how much time it would take for a killer to go from A to B, so if they dont reach a point during a certain time they can predict where they are through walls. Or simply have eyes and look for the red stain.

The Key user doesn't though. There is no requirement for it. You could have Dwight Do-Right kicking ass on gens, get tunneled to oblivion while the Keymaster is doing their best cosplay of a bush on Claudette, and then dip out.
In the situation of 2 people left, a key wouldnt of made a difference

It's enough to know how a #$%ing Key works.
Clearly not, since it doesn't completely get rid of the survivors objective, does it make it easier to escape? yes. But they still need to work for it.

Up to 229 hours, actually. And now I'm Rank 4, and in Red Ranks.
I think I have made my point. I definitely can say I am immune to the claim of "you clearly don't play Survivor"
229 hours really ain't that much when it comes to this game. And you may have played survivor for the majority of your hours but that's still not saying much.

That doesn't even make any sense.
You're only Devotion 1 Level 1. Meaning I'm assuming you have about 100-200 hours and well Rank 5 isn't very impressive to most.
-
Keys are one of the few things that has remained unchanged since the beginning of the game, the devs had no idea how this game was gonna turn out which explains why there were some much more questionable things, BNP instantly repairing gens, insta heals, insta blinds, insta mori's, and Im not even gonna get into perks cause thats a whole other can of worms

"Obviously" I don't play Survivor. Clearly. Yup. Ya got me, Detective.
No, you don't have to do generators to get a Key to work. Besides the obvious trick of using it on an already closed hatch when the Killer goes to patrol exit doors, it is entirely possible to simply find a place to hide while your allies do just enough generators for the hatch to spawn, and then you escape without lifting a finger. I know, I've seen it happen many times.
You showing that just shows youre not that experienced lmao
-
Thing is theres no excuse for how long its taking, with the bug we got in I believe patch 4.3.0, where all killers started off looking like the killers pov you could see his legs go into the ground, about ankle level. all they have to do is push him up and problem solved
-

Iron will is perfectly balanced, removing one out of many tells killers get to track survivors is perfectly fair and reasonable trade off for a perk slot.
You still have eyes, scratch marks, blood, sounds of walking, sound of objects you touch (grass etc), general understanding of pathing and possibly more that I forgot to mention.
Imagine wanting to nerf a skillful juking perk when so many free second chance perks exists. A very bad idea, if anything, more perks should be as useful as Iron will is.
You know people said Billy was perfectly balanced as well, look where that got him

If you've got to that level then good for you I'm just going off content creators who main nurse, supa Alf for example who's probably one of the best nurse players in the game. You should check out his YouTube he was doing a win streak and I think last time I checked he had gone past 150+ 4ks in a row:
I've seen some of his videos, but its not my type of content that I like to watch. He is without a doubt an amazing Nurse

Depends how good you want to be with her, if you want to be a decent nurse then yeah but if you want to hit that god tier and be able to take down even the best survivors that's about as long as it would take.
Ive gone against many death squads, and only a handful have actually bodied my Nurse, and I have maybe 150-200 hours on her alone, and a little over 3,400 in total
-
@Kirkylad said:
Honestly if you want to be really good with nurse it's just practice practice practice nurse is one of the hardest killers to be well with because in order to get near to the god tier level with her you will probably need at least around 1000 hours on her.
She really doesn't take that much, of course it depends on the person but it took me about 2-3 weeks where I could call myself an actual good Nurse.
-
2 things come to mind
Old Mettle of Man
Flashlight and Pallet save changes they made during the Howling Grounds event
-
I wouldnt blink directly to the survivors last known position, first blink should be used to scout out and cover as many options the survivor has. The best example for this is if they run behind cover, blink beside it, if they turn back youll see them, and if they dont look where they went and use your 2nd blink to get the hit.
If you find yourself with a survivor out in the open and he has a good amount of distance on you, dont fully charge a blink, as he could simply turn around. Half charge it, if he turns back get a hit, if they dont use your 2nd blink to get a hit.
Remembering what survivor has what exhaustion perk is also quite important, my trick for remembering this is when you find out what they have, say outloud the name of the survivor and their exhaustion perk. The reason why this is important is whiffing a hit as Nurse can be extremely punishing. So knowing to bait a DH or SB could be the difference between winning or losing.
A little extra note, Id recommend using Im All Ears, as a survivor its pretty hard to figure out you have the perk and it can net you some free hits, even on indoor maps.
-
I honestly think that if a game has been going on for more than 20 minutes endgame collapse starts, it would fix the issue of having 2 or possibly more survivors holding the game hostage, and to not encourage waiting for this timer, only award half the escape points and emblem scores if the game reaches that point.
-
My guess is they plan on adding a new gamemode which requires this hud to add more players and more things to be added on the screen. What I think should be done is give the option to adjust where you want things to be on screen. I cant see how that would be too hard to add

@Splinterverse said:
Doctor needs a nerf anyway. No killer should have a BASE kit that is both anti-stealth AND anti-vault. One or the other not both (without addons). Add to that snap out of it and bad skill checks again as BASE. Then you add perks and addons to make it worse? No thanks. I know he was in a bad way before but they've swung too far to the other side. He needs to be adjusted.
Killer mains and tryhard survivors don't bother quoting and replying with "you just need to know how to run the Doctor". I already know that and do do that. I just don't think it's balanced. It's overkill as BASE. Make some of those things addon or perk dependent.

Being slugged isn't a free save.
Said this in a previous post, if the survivor is smart they wont just mindlessly dive bomb if the killer is near. From what I can tell youve never faced an actual tourney squad. And no, your typical green rank wannabe toxic swf doesnt count
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1886957#Comment_1886957
In the case of two slugs. Isn't that better than two working on gens? Even if they pick eachother up its still 30 seconds. Without DS that survivor wouldn't make that play. Don't mistake that without a perk survivors would behave the same. Or are you always around the hook?
That still wont stop the other 2 survivors working on gens. And the killer is pretty much forced to go away or else he loses those 2 gens. And I stick around the hook if needed, Im not gonna let a survivor running towards a hook get a free save.
-
Monstrous Shrine
After hooking a survivor on a hook, that hook becomes marked
The next survivor to be hooked on that same hook will suffer from 7/8/9% faster entity progression and suffer from the deep wounds status effect once unhooked.
After a marked hook is used it is no longer marked
Start the trial with 0/1/2 marked hooks
-
I thought it was interesting that they mentioned new game modes, especially a competitive one. Because of MMR rolling in I think a ranked mode is necessary
-

They are not invincible when going for that hook save. You can down them at the feet of the hooked survivor. At that point, how can you say two survivors incapacitated is detrimental to you? Is camping not an option in this case? So what if they pop back up? Smack them back down again. By then DS timer will be expired.
Doing gens in the killers face. You know you can still hit them? Aim away and lunge back. You can avoid a grab this way.
Most survivors wont just rush a hook save if they know they're gonna get hit before saving, if they do then theyre just dumb. When they go for the save then the killer gets punished for it, because now he lost a hook and cant even compensate by picking up the just downed survivor, only option is to leave him slugged meaning he gets back up, and theres also 2 other survivors working on gens and possibly the 3rd one as well. Meaning no pressure gained on the killers end.
If some one with DS active is working on a gen and you leave them slugged guess what? You have to leave him knowing hes gonna get back up to just work on that gen again, and now the other 3 survivors are working on gens as well.
All these scenarios can be done up to 4 times, and again the killer can't do anything other than watch.
The fact that people still think DS was "nerfed" is beyond me. It has literally no counterplay now and it received an extra second of stun. How is that a nerf???
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1886501#Comment_1886501
It was not buffed and anyone who thinks old DS was ok is being disingenuous.
Dribbling was the worst counter. A massive time sink and could be foild by a single body block.
If you think dribbling was fine then I don't want to hear about survivors jumping into lockers from you.
Hoping in a locker wastes time for the survivor as most of the time when a killer is in that situation they were actually tunneling. And the anti tunnel aspect of DS is fine, using it as a defensive tool as it was meant to I dont think any one has an issue. Its when people use the perk aggressively to go for hook saves, do gens in the killers face etc. when its active. It leaves the killer with literally no choice and it completely strips them of any pressure they gathered.
DS combined with Unbreakable has little to no counterplay
-
@FilledPizza said:
Do you mean the white icon that appears with latency? It means that you yourself have 150 ping. It becomes red with 300+. The ping indicator in the corner and the white ping indicator inside of a match is also your own ping. The Survivor's ping can be seen by pressing ESC mid match and seeing the ms next to their name.
Thats cool and all but theres no way to see the killers ping for both sides.

That's funny because I'm pretty sure multiple killer things have been nerfed out of annoyance and not effectiveness. Best example? Legion.
Legion was not out of annoyance, they were straight up unhealthy for the game.
-
@Mr_K said:
It's been nerfed.
Proclaimed dead by the community (even though some reconized the potential)
and finally back in the lime light.
The moving of goal post with this perk is astounding. The perk is fair. That's all we wanted to begin with with the original nerf. It no longer denies a hook and no longer punishes a killer for downing a survivor. If you can't keep track of 60s, thats on you.
Hell, I've heard killer mains say it should be basekit. I'm not going that far but it just shows how much the perk has changed since release in 2016.
It wasnt nerfed, it was buffed. At least before you could dribble the survivor or use Enduring. Hell the stun timer was increased to 5 seconds simply because of Enduring. Now if you pair this up with Unbreakable, after an unhook that survivor is invincible for a minute and this can be said for all 4 survivors, making it EXTEMELY difficult to get pressure and start snowballing.

Too late, me and 3 friends quit we all agree this game is just getting worse and worse and increasing number of cheaters not getting banned months later is ridiculous, kinda regret I spent so much time grinding for nothing tbh... I will be asking for a refund for auric cells whenever their captcha works and let me send it, I won't ask for DLCs refund however, in theory this could have been a good game, it's a shame it's not.
This games cheater problem isnt even that bad, in the past year I can remember going against one and it was one of the funniest games Ive ever played. Also you aint getting a refund on those cells, just sayin

Whats the point of getting frustrated when there's a cheater? Theres literally no way youre winning so just have fun with it.
