-if you're noodles and salt are in metaphorical relation to the analogy I chose; no one said you had to waste the salt...- if you were asking a literal question... I cannot in good conscious dignify that with an answer lol 🍬

The salt thrown around from BOTH sides stems from certain players who lack the ability to separate real emotions from the outcome of artificial situations.... They respond as if the failure or success in the game defines how others perceive them in reality. Kind of sad when you think about it. Salty messages serve one purpose: to provoke a response so a power struggle ensues. Its a sad attempt to feel powerful after having "failed" because they didn't "win" the game. Its comes as no surprise that 99% of the salt comes from the same portion of the community who find joy in trolling, hacking, exploiting and overall "toxic" (😄lol) in game conduct. Its no coincidence, ignore them or deflect their attempts with kindness (its their kryptonite lol) and eventually they'll tire of trying and move on.

@Sn0wJob
Bonus props for the using the word crotchety lol! But no, camping is a viable strategy but you won't earn very many BPs and it comes across as toxic behavior because people like to do it just be an ass. Its a strategy that ruins the match for everyone and is greatly frowned upon, but something has to first be considered an offense before it can be a ban worthy one. Implementing. Face camping ino your strategy is not even an offense... Don't let people talking ######### make you worry 😊 -

I completely agree, and the fact that you and your friend took notice of this and didn't partake in the trolling deserves props and I commend you for it 😁 this issue seems to arise when people in a swf group have contrasting ranks and throw off the match making process. This is an issue that needs to be of top priority seeing as how for new players it is indeed the first matches that can make or break their desire to continue to play and if it ends too terribly the chances of them becoming a toxic player if they continue to play increases dramatically, and we need more people leading by example to get the toxic stench off of this community rather than add to it.I completely agree he barely knew that he had to pick us up to bring us to hooks.
Well i hope you continue to lead this community to a better rep by setting the standard in how you treat fellow members of the community. I'm going to be starting a "recommended players" thread for new players to find good standing people they can play with as they familiarize themselves with the game. If you wouldn't mind id like to give you a mention when I do 😊

@Kevvie
I agree, it is very sad that you have to miss out on someone random possibly messaging you with good intent just because the ones with ill intent became such an annoyance. Responding to these attempts at getting a rise out of you in a positive and mature man bar takes away the satisfaction toxic players thrive off of, and if more people resisted the urge to retaliate or just flat out ignored them, the attempts made by said people would result in the opposite of what they're hoping to get which is an argument. Hopefully this community will mature and the ones who feed off of the toxicity will eventually be forced to feed that appetite elsewhere. But people have to stop throwing them scraps. -

remove all bloodpoints they have and if they have none give them negative bloodpoints as penalty or just put an hour ban on their timerSo if someone's power goes out, Wi-Fi bogs down etc. They should be punished for something that was beyond their control? Until there is a way to accurately distinguish an intentional DC from an unintentional DC, make good use of the reporting tool so they can view the game data associated with the profile and see whether or not it shows that someone did in fact DC because the game wasn't going how they wanted it to.
-
@Tsulan said:
Perma bans are not the solution. But making them lose additional bloodpoints and iridescent shards, might work.Upvoting this! There are too many instances of legitimately unintentional disconnects from the server to justify handing out bans. People need to quit encouraging bans as the solution for any and all issues. The loss of blood points etc is already a consequence of disconnecting from a game and they have already implemented a penalty system that can lead to a ban if your profile has x amount of disconnects.

Let's be nice and refrain from saying things that only exacerbate the toxic rep of this community. Commenting just to say something negative about someone is irrelevant to the subject of this discussion. Keep it on topic and keep it respectful.

We killers are insane and terrible for expecting to have a successful and overall good game on our end aren't we? Lmao the survivors seem to forget that they knew what they were getting into when they played a "kill, be killed, or escape" kind of game. The excuses the try to give to deflect from their ability to escape has been and continues to be beyond amusing! As killers we get ######### whether we succeed or fail! If we don't do well we're garbage, if we do we're campers or whatever tired ass rhetoric they can come up with to convince themselves they were robbed of a win rather than face the fact that they just didn't do as well as they should have. Killing is its own reward regardless, and the salt will forever be a confirmation of our ability to successfully carry out our objective lol so let's continue to do so with a smile and thank the ones who give recognition by offering up some salt! -
The community created its own reputation as being toxic in the way they chose to behave toward fellow members of the same community
-
@PinkEricka
I can see where you feel they could be held responsible, but you have to understand for one, why its not their place to do so and secondly why it would create more issues if they were to do as you suggest.
If they were respond to every single report made with handing out bans as a way of reprimanding someone all because of what people message one another (outside of the actual threats to to physically harm someone or their family), they'd end up banning almost everyone... Because whether or not something is "abusive or offensive" is an entirely subjective matter. What may deeply offend one person may not even phase another, and people abuse the reporting tool (which they tried to improve by providing a tool that specifies the reason a report is being made to speed up the process) as a way to try to retaliate at someone (and almost always because of something ridiculous and unjustified). People make false reports all the time which is also why it takes so long to see any kind of action to said reports, think of how many they have to go through and investigate. someone being unjustly reprimanded is one of the worst things that can happen on both ends. If the community would lead by example rather than partaking in the same behavior, crying unfairness when they feel offended and then continuing the same behavior despite having endured it first hand, the problem would slowly dissipate. There are better measures they could put in place to make the whole thing less complicated and confusing but there's never a way to assure every person that they won't ever be offended, insulted, embarrassed etc. How people react to what others say is not something the devs can just program away. Its a game, its artificial reactions to artificial situations and until people can learn to better differentiate between that and real life and respond to that in an appropriate mannar, the problem will continue no matter what the devs try to put into place ya know? And truthfully, if it is something said post game thru a message, it needs to be reported to Sony which can handle it more appropriately since the "abusive conduct" occurred through THEIR system... Not through something BHVR holds rights to. If the abuse happened on on the official forum they would be held accountable if they didn't handle it accordingly. I hope I'm making sense here, I can ramble sometimes. -

(That's how I see it anyway) and closing discussions based on the subject looks shady on their part tbh.
They flat out lied about the “no more exclusives” thing anyway. PC got exclusive Hunter and Runner mask in DBD from pre-ordering DeathGarden.
BHVR lies and screws things up often.
Ahhh but you need to know how to speak BHVR.
We said in the coming weeks - So we hit our timeline.... Okay well I guess but, coming weeks isn't a timeline it had not definite value
No more exclusive - Well Death Garden is only going to be PC for now so it's not an exclusive since not possible to get Death Garden on console...
Explanations or statements full of semantics and technicalities shows a prior aweness of upcoming issues and that a response to said issues was prepared for in advance hidden between the lines to dodge having to give any further explanations and deflection of any wrong doing. It's a smart move however shady it may be lol

Just out of curiosity, isn't farming against the games rules ? I'm sure you can report people for it ? I used to bond with survivors to get killer dailies done, but I don't do it anymore, because being banned is bad.
Reporting doesn’t work because the devs never bother to look at them. Look at PC, it’s full of speedhackers that get no type of punishment. I don’t think farming with ALL survivors is against the rules tbh, some people have been talking about farming on the forums and the devs never said anything about being reportable.
Okay....but I find the idea that reporting does nothing disheartening. I report people very rarely, mostly for dc stuff and that one time someone worked with the killer to kill everyone else.
It doesn’t have to be disheartening. If it removes toxic people from the game then it’s worth it. DBD is a very toxic community and I blame the devs for it. Since they don’t bother looking at reports, a lot of people say/do whatever the hell they want because they know nothings going to happen to them.
How are the devs responsible for the conduct of the players?? A lack of maturity and an incessant need for attention combined with a sheer lack of common respect or consideration for others is what is responsible for the toxicity. People have to keep in mind that this is a game meant for mature audiences, and just because someone may be of a certain age doesn't mean that they are in fact mature. The game developers are just that... Developers, not baby sitters or behavioral therapists. People will be #########, things will not always turn out in your favor but you have to understand that outside of something posing a real threat, the devs focus remains more so on the actual game rather than the quarreling amongst the players. How one reacts to or feels about something is subjective, if you're easily offended or find it to be too much to handle you can always turn off messages while you play or find ways to play with people who share the same expectations as you do (SWF or KYF). I know it sucks but the blame needs to be directed at the deserving party and until people can learn how to respect others and separate real emotions from artificial situations we won't see an improvement. The solution is in having more of this community setting an example through their own behavior and the toxic ones will weed themselves out or be ignored and called out by the community

I just recently got out of a farming match with me as killer. I figured I’d farm with everyone since the 2X BP event ends in 2 hours. I play on PS4 btw.Before the match started, I messaged the survivors asking them if they wanted to farm and that whoever didn’t want to should leave now. However, I was only able to message 2 survivors, the other 2 had their messages off.
To shorten all this up, We were all farming points and it got to the point where I wanted 2 hooks from everyone. I started hooking people, but this one P3 Claudette couldn’t comprehend that we were farming despite all of us farming in her face. It got to the point where everyone got hooked but her. So I downed her, hooked her once, and then she automatically DC’s... and then I get this message...
Usually, when I receive hate mail from survivors, I either laugh or ignore it. but i have to admit, this irked me knowing all the school shooting that has happened this past year. I’ve been playing this game for awhile and I’ve never seen anyone say anything this horrible. The devs really need to start soft/perma banning people. They NEVER check their in-game reports and when you try to email them personally about a situation, they just have a robot tell you to use the in-game report system. I’m a survivor main and I see why killers turn off their messages now.
Some people are just against farming... Its frustrating for sure though especially when you're trying to ensure everyone gets the most out of it. As for the salty message, don't take it too seriously... Its actually fairly tame in comparison to what typical salt gets dashed around. As for the DC after getting hooked, you can report them for That post game just as they can report others for farming. I don't think banning people needs to be the solution to this, but think there should be a better system in place to ensure that its taken notice of and if the particular conduct continues only then should any sort of ban be handed out.
