I guess what I'm saying is that I bet Ace was originally meant to be from the 60s or 70s. Why would anyone think he looked like an "aging 50s movie star" if he was in the 2000s and most of the people around him were probably watching Titanic and Mean Girls.
BUT they retconned that when they made the archives lore four years later...
I'm not sure if the archives lore is even meant to be cannon or not because it sometimes contradicts existing lore.
I also felt that Hag's lore kind of got retconned in the archives as well because somehow being a skeptical schoolgirl in a typical Western looking society that makes fun of her English teacher doesn't really mesh with "Lisa Sherwood grew up in a quiet village, mainly isolated from the rest of civilisation. The people of the hamlet were kind and the elders kept old traditions alive"
The archive stories just dig deeper into their past. While we still have the original story/backstory as the base of the characters the archives only expand more on the Character's past in question. (Legion for me is a 50/50 because it's a telling of the same story and the cutscene elaborates that Susie and Joey aren't killers, and were surprised at frank stabbing the janitor while with Julie she was more accepting of it. So, basically same info, but a way to look at things than what the original backstory did.) The hag's cutscene only elaborated on her as a child, while her base story events will still happen later on in her life.

Please stop calling things a nerf for when they're most likely just bugs in hindsight.
Think about it:
Trapper is already in a fine state as he is the devs have no need to nerf him placing traps at exit gates is a strong endgame thing for him he's got going if you get to that scenario. There aren't NEARLY as much complaints from the Survivor side about that. I play both sides so I want to at least try to be opened minded when coming to posts from either side, but you just convinced an entire comment section that the devs had a hand in nerfing trapper *intentionally* (but then again the devs did touch Billy when he was fine so I could be wrong).
But anyways, like with legion this is a bug, not a nerf. A lot of game breaking ones too from this chapter especially too. I don't know what's going on with that.
Map bugs, killer bugs, The Twins, etc.
Normally I expect a few mild bugs here and there but nothing game breaking as this chapter.
Game breaking is probably a strong word though idk, but it sounds fitting.

I have to say it...Why do they insult me after a game? I know what it feels like to lose but they exaggerate so much for a game, just because I win and I have a killer power and the survivors don't? A few moments ago I played a game where I knocked down, I hung up, I haven't raced, I haven't tunneled with a trapper and they still get upset because I win, They began to say things to me and you could tell that it was a premade, I also had a game where I lost and they made me t-bags, flashlights, they pointed at me and commented nonsense in the chat, but that did not affect me so much, if I make a comparison with a minecraft game like sky wars, many say gg and not They get upset but in dead by daylight gentlemen, it is where hatred, mockery and desperation to win abound... This publication is not like a complaint but like a kind of criticism, besides I have 580 hours of gameplay and I have learned a lot to play this game, with the basic mechanics etc. but never in my life have I seen so many complaints and comments for a simple game
You can never *be* fair no matter how hard you tried. I got called a tunneler because a feng min was unhooked and I chased somebody else and after the ran into the basement in the house in badham I let them go because there was one gen left and I didn't want to spend too much time in a chase and see that same unhooked person working on a gen. I go for them instead of continuing the chase, because it was about to be completed. So I either had a choice to keep chasing the other person or go after the one who was about to pop the last gen. I'm still not sure if I even made the right choice to this day.
I also wanted to at least get a kill or two but I also didn't want to sweat because it's not fun when a killer sweats when you're playing the Survivor role either.
-
I was hooked in basement and a Nancy was on her way to save me (or so I thought), I was positive she wasn't going to make it before I died since there was only a little bit left of the struggle meter but much to my surprise she made it and was right next to me, but instead of saving me she just nodded and let me die. She ended up dying in the end too, but it's safe to say that the killer (and probably some of our teammates didn't like her either.)

After PTB everybody was also "disappointed" on Blight and after release everybody loved him. The same thing can happen to the Twins.
I think people were disappointed due to the fact that the Blight was the first Lore related Killer to join the ranks of DBD, so likewise you'd have some expectations that a lore related character could have *some* type of cool and fun power ESPECIALLY if this was the first Lore related one. Personally I've been fine with blight ever since I heard he was announced the only thing that truly upset me was his camera height

" I was just never entirely sure what its purpose was in matches with no obsession perks"
If there are no obsession perks in play then no one is the obsession.
Unless that one Key add-on creates an obsession. I never use it so I'm not sure. 🤷
I just the assumed that the game would just pick a player out of random like a roulette thing to get a little bit more bp
-
@StibbityStabbity said:
An obsession means a couple of things.
First off, nearly (though not all) obsession perks come with a benefit and a hindrance. This makes you seriously consider whether or not you can work to the strength of the obsession perk and overcome its weakness. A few don't have this weakness, and are considered powerful perks as a result.
Secondly, there are only a handful of obsession perks in the game. If you see that a Survivor is an obsession, this tells you that an obsession perk is in play. Depending on which role you are currently playing, it makes you consider what you are up against.
Third, most obsession perks (though not all) have a sort of build up. They get stronger as the conditions of the perk are met. Survivors need to be mindful of this and avoid feeding the Killer tokens to that perk. Killers need to be mindful to avoid breaking the perks conditionals in order to keep the buffs that perk gives.
For the most part, obsession perks demand a modification of playstyle, but reward the player for adhering to those modifications. It's a neat idea, though not always ideal depending on the Killer and player.
Or it's Decisive Strike, where this is no downside and you can do whatever you want for 60 seconds after getting unhooked. No downside there, but plenty of power.
Ahhh I get that, but then you can still be the obsession even without caring an Obsession-based perk bev
@TheClownIsKing said:
It was introduced into the game with the Halloween chapter because thematically Myers IS in fact obsessed with Laurie.
It was meant to borne a greater dynamic between killer and survivor, with a weird symbiotic yet also risky/dangerous relationship.
However since then it was noticed how some of the original Obsession mechanics could be highly abused or just plain un-fun for survivor, mostly by killer when THEY were running certain Obsession perks. So it’s since evolved to be a bit more murky, and gives the killer far less power and information than it previously did.
Ahh I guess there was a bit more to the obsession mechanic back then compared to now, I always thought it was just some roulette thing out of random even without perks so you can earn more bp
-
@Kind_Lemon said:
@Shenanigan What the Obsession mechanic is:
A special interaction between one survivor and the killer. Being the Obsession always means you should have heightened awareness when near the killer and might mean that when given the choice between you and another survivor, the killer will attack the other survivor. If you're the Obsession, you should always expect the killer to think of you differently. As an Obsession, you should be more powerful while potentially having a greater weakness.
Note: this has been muddled by the devs for the worse imo (For The People, Nemesis, Rancor, Blood Pact etc.). Note also that survivor-survivor perks shouldn't piggyback on the Obsession mechanic and weigh it down.
Bloodpoints were an afterthought and so was everyone knowing who the Obsession is (still not entirely (i.e. 95%) sold on this decision).
Ahhh ok I see, it's just normally a small thing that tends to mix things up a bit, but depending on who's using what perks it'll decide what happens to you during the match. (as either side)

Maybe 1 out of the 10 most recent games I've played, has the killer approached the exit gate. Even then, it was only with like 15 seconds left on the timer.
There's truly no point in going there because you already know what's going to happen when you do. The only time I go to the exit gate is when I'm deathslinger because I can have the possibility of spearing a Survivor and reeling them out and one-shot them.
-
The devs did say after blight they're working on another original killer. On stream I think they said they do two original chapters then 1 licensed chapter.
I actually hope the next killer is a horse riding one. Or another female killer too it'd be pretty neat to have another join the roster

this company took in $118 million in revenue...you telling me they need more money to keep the game alive lol
You can't forget in stream they even have to renew licenses just so we can still as those licensed killers and Survivors. Pyramid Head and Cheryl might be a HUGE one to renew (considering it's Konami's characters) then you have freddy, leatherface, Micheal, Laurie, Ash, Steve, Nancy, Demo, Tapp, Pig, and Ghostface (I might be missing a few so let me know);
While renewing the on their deadline might be a long ways to go it still costs a lot of money to renew those licensed characters. Does all the money go to licenses? No, absolutely not but considering some of those are BIG Ips they'll cost a bit to renew each one. A lot of money goes to each different thing. There's higher ups, workers they have to pay, the changes made to the game (i.e graphic updates and animations). While this is my first official "big" event (aside from the scarlett swarm event) I don't know how to truly feel about it, but I can wholeheartedly agree that it's not fun. It took me 4 not 3 matches just to harvest those visceral canker plants only to get 4,000 bp. I was hoping I'd get *something* because that's what dbd lore is also centered on': Vigo's Escape, The Blight events, and more importantly The Pustla Flower. Not to mention 21K shards was asking waaaaaaay too much for just a cosmetic especially with the current grind. A double XP day would be sweet considering this is a grindy game. Even Rocket League has Double XP Days so players can at least earn some stuff for their events or Rocketpass. And if I'm buying Auric cells I'm spending them either on a character or the rift pass (pay a thousand get a thousand) not on cosmetic since I'm only getting one thing out of it.

Cool, thanks.
I like this idea, incentivise leaving the hook area and help lower mobility killers pressure the map more easily (who are always the ones most likely to hang around hooks anyway). I can’t wait to dash around as Hag :D
It's a pretty cool idea! It seemed like it sounded game breaking at first when hearing them announced, but playing the add-ons in kill your friends they did great with the execution!

I came back here after 4 hours because I thought this would've been overlooked and sort of forgotten about it, but I come back to see 32 notifications. And HOLY HELL I've learned some new things and you guys made interesting points mostly on Deathslinger posts I don't see too much explaining about this side of the topic in those types of post (while also genuinely confused on where the idea/fact came from. I don't use deathslinger's power to spam ADS moreover I just use it the way it was supposed to used in the first place.) But more than a lot of you have done their part and explained it out which made it more clear, and either or I'm fine with the ADS getting removed and a cool down to prevent less faking he needs it for the best and I trust the devs with what they might do I just hope they don't turn him that'll heavily impact him. Though I'll try and adapt as best as I can because I grabbed this guy as soon as he came out and I'm not planning on leaving him out to dry anytime soon.
But yeah thank you again to those who explained it, and those who used analogies in some ways to get the point across. Again, not much people or posts elaborated on it so I just went with it and asked. Plus I hope that all of you guys know that I mean well when I made this post. No bad vibes or anything I just had a question that I just wanted to be answered:

Like why? Dodging hatchets was never a huge problem unless hitboxes, but that doesn't apply purely to iri heads, yet somehow they are the problem.
Also there a lot of other killers and perks that could suddenly instadown you (and do that much more efficiently than iri heads), some of which are much more difficult to avoid than hatchets
Moreover, Iri head basically means huntress is either running with 3 hatchets and default wind-up or 1 hatchets and slightly faster wind up. In any case her counter plays remain exact same - stay in high wall loops, don't move predictably, don't let her catch you in animation and so on.
And even if she is close to you, it doesn't differ much from being close to chainsaw killers/stalking killer with almost ready exposed/plague and so on.
Basically you are just injured the whole game against iri huntress. It's like playing against 4.4 plague without cleansing that can only vomit 3 projectiles. Don't heal and do gens.
Oh, and about Plague, she basically becomes iri huntress (with distance restrictions, which is compensated with her AOE vomit so if you are unlucky to group, whoops) whenever survivors decide not to cleanse and rush gens, while she picks up her red vomit. And that's in basekit. And that's what happens in every 2nd plague match. Did you see anyone DCing against plague? I smell bullshit here. And don't say that anybody will go suddenly cleanse if they her red vomit. They'll just try hiding or running her as normal and return to gens as they can, since healing would be just futile.
So what so special about "one shot hatchets" that make everybody RQ? I have faced a lot of red rank iri huntress players (while playing with my red rank friend, while being yellow rank at best, so you can imagine how bad I am as survivor in terms of micro skill, though I have a good macro skill due to huge killer experience against good survivors) and when nobody threw games, she wasn't such a big of a deal. Just one less chance for mistake and that was it. And EVEN if she had mori, that only meant we played more carefully and didn't save pallets as much as we would've done otherwise.
I'm starting to think that all that "Iri huntress OP" whining is just autosuggestion and people don't even try to deal with her because they feel it's fine to just DC without trying.
Buddy, pal, amigo, fellow camaraderie.
Iri Head + Huntress's Hatchet Hitboxes = Nearly an Impossible match. I don't DC from matches because I want to try to stick through, but there are times where I'm actually crouched and think I'm safe and then the hatchet still hits me. Dodging it is a solution, but given the power to freely instadown an entire team with a power especially if you're skilled in said character can EASILY tip the scales for the killer. I'm not sure if I can compare, but it's like an Ebony Mori. Sure you're not being mori'd off first hook, but with Iri head hatchets your team already has one guy down because of Iri head and they may be good at dodging, but Huntress's Hitboxes say otherwise. You're immediately downed and on the hook and if she's a tunneler she'll go after you again and won't care about the DS that's already one teammate gone.

Truth be told, it makes me really emotional. I also feel like nobody will really pay attention to this post anyway. But if you do, thank you for reading the feels.
This is the number one game that I have spent loads of money on (number two being Paladins), and the only time I would ever say that it wasn't worth it if people have been really ruining my matches, despite me not actually meaning what I say at all.
I never truly hated this game. Many people have a "love-hate relationship" with Dead by Daylight, including myself, but I always tend to be more on the "love" side.
I can not say the community is great. I've had my fair share of bad moments while playing Dead by Daylight since 2018, and 99% of the time the community was the only thing I could blame, and I am really really sorry.
But, for those that don't consider themselves toxic, or don't consider themselves having a negative influence on the community, I appreciate you being here. Without you, this community, the game, and everything else regarding Dead by Daylight might be in ruins.
And of course, without the developers this game wouldn't exist at all. If anything, we all should thank THEM for even making this game and expanding their team, along with the content in the game we all love and play, despite thinking negatively of it sometimes.
Sorry if this post was so sudden or something, sorry if you didn't enjoy reading this. I'm not even sure what to call it. It seems like a rant, but I'm not ranting about anything. I'm just... Thankful, is all, for being able to play a great game.
Congrats on getting Rank 1 on both sides man! I love this game also even though there are flaws to it I still enjoy the whole aspect of it to begin with too! Throughout every turn, corner, and bump in the road you pushed though it all!
You earned it all dude we're all proud of ya! 😊👍🎉

Hi, I checked forum rules to see if this was allowed, and it seems it is as I found nothing against it. So I've decided to go through with it! I hope you're excited to see a forum project come up.
I'd like to see if anyone is interested in joining me in an investigation (or experiment) with these goals and interests in mind.
Goal: Determine how the community reacts to positive in game and post-game reinforcement.
You will be given instructions in private for now. If they MUST go public, please tell me and they will quickly go up.
A general overview would be, that players are expected to play fair and be kind to their opponent when given the opportunity and record their reactions. I.e, an edited screenshot with no personal information.
Feel free to leave a message if you're interested here too! I genuinely believe this could be highly interesting and have a positive effect in stage 2. After all, this is information collecting. There won't be that many participants now, unless I need them.
I want to help on this experiment can I join even though I'm on xbox (sorry if you already clarified it or not I had to write this quickly)

I used repressed alliance for awhile even after I got adept Cheryl but after a lot of different matches I just saw it never really came in handy, unless if I wasn't the first person chased or I could work on a gen in peace for literally a minute or less. While I loved the concept of a Survivor temporarily having the entity aid them it never seemed super useful, plus usually some killers will wait out the full 30 seconds to use pop. It is pretty fun on specific gens builds though

This past week, most survivors attempt a self-unhook while another survivor is going to unhook them. And I mean the rescuers are usually less than 10 meters away, while the killer is on the other end of the map. This often pushes them into the second sacrificial stage. What gives?
I usually do this when playing Survivor because, "oh they're getting close I might as well take my chances since they'll get to me in a few seconds."
Some Survivors might do this too, for this reason as well. While we do wait for our rescuer we don't want to take our chances early on if they're not close to us. If we're nowhere near close to second phase and our rescuer is approaching us then we'll take our few chances.

I can vouch for you on that it doesn’t take an hour to complete a level for the rift. On console, queue times for survivor are god awful (killer on the other hand are pretty fast). 1-2 matches for one little shard (that’s a tenth of the way to a completed level) 🤢 I’ll be going back to school soon, so praying that an hour will get me a level won’t be granted to any of me anytime soon. Work, school, and other priorities come first. On top of that, everyone stops playing the game at hand to finish a “ChAlLeNgE” because it becomes the priority. I’m sick of it, I’m sure a lot of people are.
That depends on what time you're playing each role. At night you're basically getting killer matches instantly, but at night Survivor cue times are longer. In daytime Survivor cue times are quicker, but killer cue times are longer.

I feel like undying should at least give the survivors a notification that "surprise! You're on totem cam!" All other hexes give notification of their active effects, so why not undying?
The problem is that if Survivors know what totem they're cleansing (more less only tap it just to see which one it is like I do on occasion to be sure if it's thrill of the hunt) then they're going to be hell-bent on getting which would also tip the killer into thinking, "they really can't let this hex totem go, then this must be one of my stronger totems I need."
Then they're going to be more defensive on that totem when they see the Survivor's aura pop up most likely negating the current chase they're in just to prevent that totem going bye bye.

Ooooooh I never knew that. When I blocked a gen on accident I still saw sparks flying from it since ruin popped up, so I assumed that it was to regress and I just blocked it for no reason

But I always thought they were supposed to do that except for killer perks like thrilling tremors?
I mean personally I always use repressed alliance because I'm too stubborn on switching out a character's 3 personals with a 4th different perk. And when I hop of a gen a see ruin I always saw no point in blocking a gen because it's going to regress anyway. Maybe it'll only regress when it's a killer perk, but for perks like repressed alliance then it'll stop the regression maybe ruin could negate that though idk. I'm on xbox so pc players are going to have some fun for little while. :/

post EGC bloodwarden doesn't work as intended.
it was fine before we had EGS but now it's used to bm, all the killer has to do is wait till end with noed and bloodwarden, hook someone halfway through EGS and thats it any surv in trial is dead, nothing can be done, the perk isn't really OP but just badly designed, killers shouldn't be rewarded with a 4k for hooking a single surv at a certain time, that's ridiculous
it needs changed to work better with EGS and not a meme to annoy survs
inb4 killers say just leave the trial, no, just no, i'm not the kind to open the doors and leave, i want everyone or as many out, last min saves are where most of the fun in dbd are, so, no
i suggest pausing the EGS timer while bloodwarden is active, that's at least more fair than, your dead, ggez
I don't even bad manner with bloodwarden. I only run it and NOED with deathslinger as a part of my endgame build. The fate of bloodwarden activing is ALL on you and your team. Which is why I don't mind you guys having your victory dance and gestures. All Survivors are in the opened exit gate and I don't mind that, but I sit there patiently. I see their aruas with bloodwarden and I sit there I give them until halfway in endgame collapse to give them a chance to leave. If I'm patient enough to at least give them time, especially when EGC is halfway without ANYBODY downed to walk out and take their win, but if they sit their for longer than halfway then they just want to stay behind and get sacrificed. Which quickshots get the best of in those types of scenarios since I'm running a mid/endgame build.
Bloodwarden all depends on *you* and your teammates. Survivors give the killer power to activate that perk. And being over altruistic is a big contributor. When I play Survivor I always leave when exit gates are opened (maybe with the exception of going for a save if the killer walked a good distance away). Other than that I refuse to stay behind. I play both sides most of time, so whatever I play as killer I have an idea on what Survivors can do when it comes to looping or something else. As Survivor I know what the killer *might* do when it comes to playing. Albeit moonwalking a bit, faking something, or see them cook up another strategy. And from those bloodwarden matches as deathslinger I've learned from the opposing side's mistakes:
1. Play it safe and don't stay behind for too long.

But, I liked faking, I use a lot of faint of most killers because it works, Wraith/Spirit and etc are both fakers and they don't get looked into, yet PH did, sounds weird to me
Faking would normally result in a lose/lose situation for Survivor. Azame, made that idea way more clear for me. While I never used the faking strategy (I always wanted to use POTD and I've landed a lot of hits even when Survivors weren't in an animation lock.) However if you think about it in this scenario what could the opposing side do in order to avoid it? They think you're going to LT and use punishment of the damned (or M2 depending if you play PC) but in the end it's a Basic Attack on your end which never gave them more info to what you're about to do. I just stick with one or the other if I'm using his power I'll place torment trails down or actually use punishment of the damned, if I'm going to a basic attack then I'll use a basic attack. Though I haven't encountered a pyramid head who did that to me or my teammates yet, but I can tell from others that it's an upsetting lose/lose situation. I prefer to play both sides when it comes to "pick a role to play" games, but I do understand how you feel about the situation. I'm assuming you're a Pyramid Head main and you don't necessarily want the devs to change anything about them because it's scary on how the finished update would work for it and your enjoyment of playing that killer. Suffice to say deathslinger is soon going to get his tweak because they're looking at past chapters I think before descend beyond. Deathslinger is my main and I'm scared on what they'll do to him, but I just have to hope for the best that it won't kill him and wait and see.

Oooooooh ok I see

Meh, considering Nurse is still suffering from a lot of bugs since her rework and they barely addressed those (btw the worse maps to play her are the most recent ones, especially new Yamaoka and Midwich) I really doubt they'll fix Blight anytime soon.
What nurse bugs are there? I keep seeing people mention bugs about her, but I never knew which one it was. Is it her fatigue?

Since PH is getting M2 release CD, many people were speculating & asking if slinger will be the next to get changes to make him, give survivors more chances to outplay his power or limit it on other ways.
The thing is, only realistic changes to slinger are the ones to his TR or to his M2 spam which aren't adressing people's main complains that his shots "can't be countered" with reacting to them.
And why do I think that devs won't ever change slinger's instaADS ? Well, it's because of a few reasons:
1. Fixing instaADS isn't changing survivor's ability to react to them (since the shot isn't reactable due to the projectile speed, not the ADS speed) but mainly telling them when they're supposed to start making tricky movement yet they still can't react dodge the perfect shot once they're in it's reach.
2. If the instaADS was made longer, slinger would lose his main reason to exist. The main thing that makes slinger good and allows him compete with huntress's power is his instaADS giving him very high consistency in opportunities for shots, justifying his existence. If he had longer ADS, he would become redundant beiing overshadowed by huntress in every important aspect of killer gameplay.
3. "He just needs a full rework" Actually he doesn't. There were only 2 major reworks to killers who broke the game - Freddy and Legion. Both hardcountered certain surivor playstyles, Freddy stealth, Legion chase.
Slinger is a killer that is extremely good duelist, chances to loop amazing slinger are extremely slim but that's not good enough reason to rework him. He's not breaking the game since chases against him can be won, either through slinger making mistakes or survivor playing well be it playing extremely safe, beiing lucky at predictions, making good decisions (when to abandon unsafe loops, when to abuse safe loops, knowledge of slingers trick shots) etc.
Slinger has limits and requires a lot of skill to be played "perfectly" while also having many other weaknesses to balance out his strong chase power. He's a killer that was designed with the idea of beiing dominant at one aspect of gameplay if played well while beiing weaker in others. He isn't breaking the game even at chase so I truly don't think that reworking him would be justified.
These are ofc just my opinons as deathslinger main on controversy surrounding him. I might be wrong and devs might eventually increase his ADS or give him a rework but I personally don't think either is warranted.
I feel like what they'll do to him would be inevitable. I just hope they don't nerf quickshots. It's satisfying to reel in Survivors out of exit gates because they chose to stay behind and do their victory dance, and while I don't mind it because they deserve to have their fun I do draw the line when it's been halfway through endgame collapse and they didn't take their leave. However I wouldn't mind his m2 spam to go. I just hope it won't kill him in a drastic way. Deathslinger is one of my favorite killers and he's my main. I welcome his tweak/nerf with open arms and I'll test him out and still try to play with him and adapt to the tweak as best as I can. But if aiming will have to take "x amount of seconds" before a shot can be made then that would discourage me from playing him because I like that surprise on Survivors and I like that when I play AGAINST him, but also because who has to wait a bit before they have to shoot their target? They could implement a blur mechanic just when you start aiming so quickshots can occur a little less. But I wouldn't be too big of a fan if it gives Survivors a notification on what you're about to do, because it loses the element of surprise when you catch them off by surprise.
-
I genuinely love playing deathslinger and he's my main when I play a few matches as killer, but it always seems like no one uses his power just to use it. Why fake people out when you can actually have the thrill of getting a shot and reeling them in? When Deathslinger is inevitably nerfed/tweaked I wouldn't mind it too much depending on what they're working on, but the only thing that I don't want them to touch is his quickshots. For me it's nice to see a Survivor or see one of my teammates in the exit gates if they just stand close to the edge of escaping or sit their and just do their victory dance and gestures and they get shot and reeled in, it doesn't necessarily bother me it's just the fact of, "you could've left, but you chose to stay behind." Especially when I wait halfway through the endgame collapse timer as a killer in a match. [NOTE: I'll still try and interfere with the tug of war bit when it comes to my teammate when playing Survivor too though (depending if Deathslinger is running bayshores gold tooth and I can't keep up with the reeling speed)]. I don't mind a cooldown to be rid of free-zoning like the video presented, but I hope that their won't be a certain of "x amount of seconds" to shoot your projectile when activing your ADS, because it's a gun who has to wait for an amount of seconds to spear someone, so they can get a headstart and run away, but at the same time they can at least somewhat upgrade the dog whistle-like audio cue when Deathslinger is aiming at you.

The new technician will give 100% chances to prevent the gen from exploding, but it makes the penalty for missing a skillcheck bigger.
It's a perk directed to new players - and now my question is.. why does it have the penalty?
Perks shouldn't have downsides at all. You're taking one of four perk slots. That's why autodidact is so bad. In my opinion, the new technician should do the opposite - it should not give any penalties for missing skill checks at all. Then it would be a perk at least worth considering.
It's because the perk doesn't notify the killer of your mistake, but since it's going to be giving you freebies 100% of the time now, there has to be some consequence to missing a skill check along with the plus side that the killer isn't notified of it. Though even though it's only been announced I am a bit afraid of it being somewhat a new meta if it manages to stay the way it was announced (most likely not) but if a whole team running is running a perk that grants 100% no notification to the killer is sort of scary to think of

How many matches have you all lost because of the infuriating hook glitch?
I think I just had my most frustrating one. I'm playing my boy Mikey on Blood Lodge. I have a beautiful three gen situation around the main building. Three survivors left. Two on death hook. I'm running my usual pop. I down Nancy, and have a bit of a walk to the nearest hook. Low and behold when I get to it I cannot hook her.
Thanks to that she wriggles free. I chase her down again, get her on the hook, and just as I hook her that last gen I was hoping to pop with her hook goes. A potential 4k turned into a 2k thanks to that damn glitch!!!
What usually do is when the glitch happens I don't drop the Survivor I usually back away from it then walk to the hook again then it works for me.

Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer
Slap this on a killer, particularly a high mobility one, and you got yourself the most boosted player you will ever see.
These players do not know what pressure is to save their life. You can feed their build and try to cleanse totems to get rid of their perks, or you can just get a gen high progressed and lead them away, go back to it when they leave you (because they will) and bam, the player is exposed as the bot they are. The fact this is a build to vs almost every game is ridiculous. The calibre of player skill level in dbd is utter garbage XD this builds proves it to be that way.
I've read through your post, but I'm assuming that you're not a huge fan of killers having a meta? That's probably not what you're saying at all and I'm leagues wrong but I think that's what I picked up from it. I play both sides on xbox and I never ran into a ruin + undying build yet. Maybe I did and my team and I just pushed through ruin. I tested out ruin and undying together and in all honesty I didn't like it. I'm not a huge fan of hex builds mostly because it's stressful because if Survivors find it then it's a wasted perk slot. In all honesty I only use undying with blight same with blood favor too. Pretty much all of his 3 personals plus the addition of BBQ since I'm low on Bloodpoints at the moment.
But I'm still confused on what you mean by your post. And I DON'T want to sound rude whilst asking you this I'm genuinely confused. If you can elaborate by what you mean overall I would be happy to know 😓

I mean, yeah. It's just disheartening when things like the PTB are a week behind. Like, how is any of our feedback going to be relevant.
It just feels so much more like a publicity stunt (new killer announcement once for the PTB and then again for the live release) than anything productive. :/
I completely get the fact that there's a lot of negativity, and often on its own, it seems completely unreasonable (and at various times may be, or directed at the wrong individuals). I would feel terrible working on a project like this where I knew there would be at least one change in every patch that the community hated. But for a lot of people who've been following not just the game for a long time but the developers, their announcements, and the way they treat community concerns (see MCote's Civ VI statement), it usually feels like not much has been done to change any of that mentality.
I didn't mean to pooh pooh your attempts at reducing negativity, but I did want to point out how often the devs seemingly don't look for player feedback before going through with an idea (another example being the extent to which the devs changed Hillbilly before even releasing a word to the public, and everyone else went, "What? Why?").
I thought hillbilly was getting changed due to feedback from players about him feathering too much or at least having a power that's doesn't come at a cost for using it? :0c
Either way I just really hope this game and the devs pull something big, but at the same time the community is also pretty ok with it.
it's just I've never seen so much negativity in a community before (while not EVERYTHING is negativity which some is just regular old criticism) while I understand that there's always besides the occasional angry fan(s)/bad apples everyone shrugs off it seems like EVERYONE here is angry at something whether it be the devs, Survivors hating on killers, killers hating on Survivors, DS this, NOED that, keys n' moris, (while it's understandable) just seeing the same post over and over again is draining. I'm starting to think if the twitter replies to DBD's twitter account are just a wee bit more decent than the forums, due to it. Besides those Sidney Prescott fancams

Noob is ######### up. Guy has some people's dream job, but doesn't give a #########.
I mean to be fair dude he started out playing dbd just for fun and just started uploading them to youtube. He probably wasn't expecting that he'd be where he is today with the idea of fame, just something he liked to do and he shared it. While he may have some people's dream job, this dream job just came to him as a surprise because he was just uploading videos for the fun of it not for actual revenue. Now he's big and and has other things he has to be constantly consistent with at the same time. Probably mentally he knows he has to upload videos, but he might be struggling with the feels like he has to ALWAYS has to upload something, that and with life and possibly misty too. It's like Jacksepticeye for that matter. Jack was pumping out videos everyday, but he took a month long break due to not feeling happy doing YouTube, stress, and being burnt out from constant pumping of videos. Now he making a more stable and healthier schedule when it comes to videos. I'm not too sure how long n00b3 joined YouTube, but even after all those years he's probably still new to the plate on what he has to balance out with YouTube and Mental Health. He's grateful that his fans got him to where is, but he genuinely probably hasn't figured out what to balance out in this scenario. A lot of YouTubers tend to start off from "doing this for fun" to "I guess this is what I do now"

cough PTB exists cough
I'm all for the devs trying crazy and whack things, but not with the live build D:
I'd love to see tests on place-able totems, radical changes to NOED, Pop, gen speeds, priming pallets, whatever you can think of that might make the game better. I don't want those changes suddenly forced on me in the live game.
That's the reason PTBs exist. That should be their sole purpose: to gather information from the players on what new additions the devs are thinking of including. One of the two times the PTB was used like that was for the self care change that just made all healing actions 25% slower while granting the ability to heal yourself. Everyone disliked it, but it was an awesome change for the PTB!
The reason I'm so negative on the changes the devs make like this is because
A. They aren't using the tools at their disposal for testing things
B. Things from the PTB often aren't changed even if they are buggy because (and the following is a guess after reading reviews on Glassdoor* in addition to what various devs have said combined with the knowledge I have of how companies often work) management forces teams to push out patches on a timeline that's not suited for non-buggy, large-scale updates.
This probably WAS a change that was meant to be included in the PTB but was not included because both the PTB and patch were forced out prematurely.
My annoyance isn't really directed at the developers but at the people who make them put things out that are buggy or unfinished. Bloodlust stayed over from PTB into live for the first few days at least, issues with gens popping on the PTB were only addressed in the hotfix recently, and countless other things from all of the recent PTBs have been included in the following live build even when it's very clear that they are bugged or not all that pleasing to the community.

Well I do see where you're coming from though and I understand. (Even though you may know this already) we can't forget the PTB for blight and graphic updates for badham and yamaoka and gens, etc was a week behind from the current version. Maybe they did plan out to add the gen sounds in the PTB but they had to give what they could share. But either way I do understand your points nonetheless.

The developers love changing things that don't need to be changed and end up making the game worse in one aspect or another. The community has to push a brick boulder up a hill to get the developers to even think of changing anything else.
But then, ofc there's money, which speaks louder than a thousand posts.
It's usually just the devs wanting to try something new. Arua readings were a flop obviously, but I keep seeing everyone complain about something that they probably wanted to try out. Hell in their defense they've been using the same gen sound for 4 years "And they should've just left it it as it is like how it was 4 years ago" . In all honesty after 4 years of hearing or doing the same thing I'd want to try and experiment with something different too. The devs made bad decisions before, but this is just something they probably wanted to experiment with and had high hopes it would have some sort of positive feedback.
Hell I'm starting to think that some employees bet $5 if someone complains about something they recently added.
I'm normally not ALL for the devs and there decisions but seeing the devs wanting to be a little creative only for it to be deemed as unnecessary by the community and playerbase itself, is discouraging to see.

Bioshock 1 & 2 are horror games, but the third one isn't, really. The third one is an FPS game. Also I'm a huge Booker DeWitt fangirl and so if he was a survivor I'd have to pretend I've never heard of DBD so I don't have to look at it. I know Elizabeth is more iconic but I wouldn't want to see her butchered either.
Then in the first game, Jack the protag. doesn't have a face, he's just a first person set of hands, and the second one you PLAY a Big Daddy, so.
Fun fact (maybe?):
Through some digging in design assets jack does have a full body render from the first game. (The reason for the whole render was because of the first idea/premise of the game)
Though personally for me I'm used to not seeing it, so I'm slightly unnerved or just "eh" by it. But yeah he does have a full official body render. Then again now that I'm thinking about it (and with some nostalgia hitting me on this) I'm starting to lean on your side of not wanting to see them butchered.
