  • I think I am just gonna turn off crossplay at this point.

  • Why keep playing if the game makes you this uncomfortable?

Play other games and try again after a while. You are just torturing yourself.

  • Not always and it still depends on the time of the day a little bit. But it is more consistent than before.

  • That is not something others should decide for you.

Try a few games and see if you find it fun.

  • They are doing something naughty.

  • Nothing similar will top dbd anytime soon. F13 had potential but lawsuit ruined it. And comms/teamming.

  • That is what usually happens when they nerf killers. It is always too much imo.

  • They will just nerf his meme add ons that never even worked against competent survivors. Because people complained about them anyway.

I barely used those so idc either way.

    Doubt anything is getting buffed.

  • I said what is possible not that I am doing it.

Also do you even know that devs themselves said comms are not cheating?

  • @JamieARose said:

Get rid of SWF. It's the only solution because it's the only way to assure comms are out of play.

When I play with crossplay off I can basically add console teammates as friends and make party chat with them. That wouldn't stop people from using comms.

  • I like the suggestion about info solo buff (like kindred base) since that wouldn't give swf that more of an advantage. And some of the killer buffs feng mentioned.

Not a fan of voice chat. That would probably make me stop playing surv even if I could disable it since I would feel like I am hindrance to the team.

  • A year.

Because I can't stick to the same games for years like others can so I either take breaks or stop playing completely.

I actually admire people who can play the same game longer than 6 months without stoping. Heck there are people who play the same series for decades which is serious devotion.

I am a person that can commit and I get obsessed but that doesn't last. So I have to find new things to obsess over.

  • If devs don't consider it cheating it cleary isn't then.

Also op, your suggestion is nothing new. People are suggesting it for a while, even some streamers.

While I think that swf can be unfair and something should be done, I am not sure of this approach at all. And like others said grades are not connected to matchmaking anymore.

  • You can fill that void with Oni.

Also when we get licenses it is from horror stuff. Street fighter is not even in that genre, mortal kombat could be but personally I dislike the idea.

"And who is to blame for not doing gens? Survivors. Your teammates. I don't need to spoon feed em what needs to be done in situation like that."

Except, maybe some players run BT and are getting closer, maybe those players didnt see each other(why do you think people want kindred to be basekit?). Yknow, something that a ping system would fix.

"Also you make it sound like gens are on another planet and running close to the hook and to some gen takes eternity. If you play a lot you already know where gens spawn even on indoor maps."

Except that the killer could have hooked me on the opposite side of the map. It takes quite a lot of time to run around structures. Long enough to get me killed before the final gen is being worked on.

"Even if kindred was basekit I bet people would still not be on gens. At least unreliable ones."

But that amount would be negligable. At least all survivors would have the same info: 1. hooked survivor is being camped 2. other survivors are not on gens. 3. 1 other survivor is already going for the unhook, meaning they probably have BT.

"When I get decent teammates which is more often since sbmm, 2-3 people always escape against killers who camp heavily. I wonder why."

Just because it happens less often doesnt mean the problem is fixed. The problem is still in the game. Also, kinda useless statement without more detail. Maybe one of them had kindred and was playing together with someone else. Maybe all of them were far away enough that they didnt think they were the nearest survivor and decided to finish their gen instead. Maybe they were all thinking they werent the best survivor to go for the unhook due to lack of BT. Lots of reasons that could seem like the issue is solved, when in reality it was mere coincidence. And 2 people escaping against a camper is a bad thing, that means 3 survivors werent able to do 5 gens in 120 seconds+chase time(which, they should easily be capable of, the fastest possible generator fixing with 3 people is 135 seconds without perks or toolboxes, 122 if they have a key, the average chase time early game is 50 seconds and carrying to a hook is averagely 6-10 seconds). So if 3 people are not escaping against a heavy camper, survivors didnt recieve the info quick enough to combat camping.

    So let me be clear:

Genrushing is the best strategy against a heavy camper, if 1-2 gens are at least halfway finished when you're downed by the killer and survivors decide to finish the gen, then find out very quickly you are being camped.

Any other scenario, and camping gets rewarded with more than 1 kill due to a lack of information(especially if that killer runs noed too, as there is no time to do all gens and all totems unless the killer doesnt camp).

So survivors are not to blame for not using kindred when they need it so much? General non licensed perk that new players can get even more easily. It helps a lot but people still don't use it. Camping is so prevalent but they still don't use it. Before you say we shouldn't need perks to combat x then we shouldn't need ruin and pop either.

Also if survivors go down too fast during chases so gen rush is less effective (in situations where other teammates make mistakes too) you can't say that is not on them.

You can't devoid survivors of any responsibility when they can play more optimal if they wanted to.

    Oh, please mori me Myers

It is not your time yet young one.

  • The reason i play less is because of the performance issues. But even if it was like before I usually burn out and take long breaks after a while. It is kinda meh when I can't play my favorite killer tho.

But, I don't see sbmm as bad as others see it.

  • @UncleStabby said:

Two way street. Killers will continue this behavior until survivors stop, survivors will continue until killers stop. Its an endless cycle. This game's fate was sealed the minute it was decided that it would be a four-against-one pvp experience.

You are forgetting people that enjoy being toxic without any good reason.

Wraith and Dead Hard complaints are fair. Dead Hard counters Spirit hard and there’s nothing she can do about it.

The only reasonable complaints for me are keys and swf strength (I am probably forgeting something).

But deleting swf is wrong approach. I would delete the hatch tho and rework exit gates and egc.

Sorry for being the only person serious in a joke thread, I am ruining the mood lol. And I got a little bit off topic by speaking in general.

  • Jokes aside I think most of the stuff people complain about are fine.

    Spirit, Wraith, Dead hard...

  • Bubbas hammer feels satisfying for me for some reason.

I am a "knife" lover but that m1 is probably my favorite which is weird.

  • I played perkless but I don't see why should I give up perks tbh. There is no reason for it since I already did that for at least 2 devotion levels.

You should at least run borrowed or we'll make it to help your team out.

See, aside from the issues already mentioned of survivors abusing this exact system to the point where the devs had to remove it entirely, you're thinking only about face camping from one perspective. Ok yeah, I think we can agree getting face camped right out the gate sucks, right? I can certainly agree to that. But what about other situations? Actually let's take a look at this and run with that idea for a second and say hook timers stopped if the killer is nearby. So outside of your scenerio, what do you think should happen if the killer grabs someone after all 5 gens are done, or better yet what do you think they should do during the EGC?

Actually here I'll use a game I had recently as an example. Played as Bubba in the cornfield map the other day that has the hay barn off to the side. The survivors right out the gate start rushing gens and just smashing them as quick as they could before I could even finish my first chase, which wasn't even that long, maybe a minute tops. So the survivors are slamming gens and I guess they weren't paying attention towards gen placement and they gave me the most perfect 3 gen situation that I could ask for. 3 gens on one side of the map that were placed to where I could stand in the center of them and have perfect LOS of all of them. Hell, even the spot in the center came with a hook as well. So survivors come and I catch one and hook'em and continue to stand in my spot to keep an eye on the gens. The survivors would bum rush hook, I'd chainsaw and they'd swap hooks. Eventually I got them all. I got called a camper, and yes I did indeed camp. But what do you think I should've done? Do you think I should have f***ed off to the other end of the map, throw a little dance party in the killer shack and let the survivors get the free win, even though screwed up and put themselves in one of the worst 3 gen situations they could've hoped for?

Yeah no. If this system was implemented in the game it would destroy the killer's chances to do anything after gen completion or during the EGC. Maybe less so in the EGC since there's a hard time limit, but once all the gens get popped I don't have any secondary objective anymore and now I need to do what I can to achieve my first objective which is to kill. This system would prevent me from getting at least 1 kill out of a bad situation. Plus in my game this would remove any sort of pressure to come save their teammate and essentially would have been forgiving these guys for 3 genning themselves so badly. So yeah maybe try and think beyond just the one scenario when you suggest things like this, which again, have been tried and were exploited to give one side even more of an advantage.

Dude it was a joke. Because we have at least one person every day suggesting that like they came to an idea no one ever got before.

Devs tried it, it was abused. It is absurd idea anyway dunno why they even tried that tbh.

When I'm survivor I try to give ggs, but I'm on console so I can only do it for PlayStation players, and everytime I try, it says I can't send the message people of the settings. Like yeah I get toxic and stuff like that but dang it I wanna congratulate you, lol

People disable messages because you get a lot of nasty ones. It is not worth it for a few gg's.

Unless you are like me and report people to get them banned.

  • So nothing really fixed in this update?

I was really hyped when they improved dead hard and was hoping they will follow in next updates like they said they will. We had like two already (right?) with nothing impactful.

  • Rework or delete the hatch. It promotes selfishness in teammates (solo q) and it is garbo when u play killer.

Exit gates and egc should be redone when it comes to last survivors. They are rng now but some killers can make it impossible to escape through them no matter how far they are.

I never liked the hatch no matter which role I play. But it is just my opinion and most people will disagree with me which is also fine.

  • It would help a lot for sure and I would be able to use another perk instead of it.

There are quite a few killers out there that are ridiculous with Pig (But would be even better with another killer). Mix that with trash survivors every where and guess what stats look good. I legit had a Meg go down yesterday via Mend.....Like ######### does that?

You mean perks not killers right?

I dunno man, which builds you find op on pig?

  • @Haddix said:

The lead balance designer, in his words, believes that the community's consensus on Pig's strength being low is a misconception and that she is "not weak" as she performs very well statistically. You're not likely to see buffs come to her unless SBMM has negatively affected her kill rate statistics.

How does she gets so many kills tho? Is it because of newish survivors who are too scared and waste time with traps on their heads?

  • Yeah pig needs some love. But if they are going to change her we should hope for something decent not like they did with clown.

  • Glad you had fun. I have days like that too but the more I play the less I enjoy it.

For me I enjoy dbd best after long breaks.

  • Where did people defend stretched res? I never saw it.

I only saw people defending them when it comes to tournaments where basically everyone stretch.

  • I don't like spine chill either anymore.

I don't hate perks tho lol. Everyone should use what they personally like and think it helps them.

  • I do better with Legion and Pig than with Freddy. But maybe I am playing him wrong.

Yikes I didn't read the whole thing. If I did I wouldn't respond seriously.

    In that order I think.

  • @Predated said:

"It doesn't take rocket science to see that killer is camping and go back to do gens (even without kindred) instead of not doing anything behind some rock."

It doesnt take rocket science, you know what it does take?

    1. time to run to the hook
    2. time to get closer to the hook to see if the TR sound increases when you go to the hook.
    3. if there is no sound for a long time(due to undetectable or smaller TR), you need to actually get really close
    4. walk back all the way to the gen and hope your teammates do the same thing
    5. If your teammates dont, you have to find them and physically communicate to them to follow you and do gens, otherwise, you'll be soloing gens alone

Thats a lot of things that need to happen, a lot of time wasted that could be spend on a gen, which is why the argument "just do gens" is a ######### one. You cant communicate to your teammates to do the same. Hence, ping system.

"Also I said it is sometimes neccessary not camping at 5 gens neccessary. Making sure camping/tunneling is not seen as something evil in all situations."

It's never neccesary to camp at 5 gens tho. You're not playing in a tournament, you're not facing the top 0.1% of survivors.

"Also even if killer is camping at 5 gens 3 people can escape easily by doing gens. Just hold m1 and leave. Simple."

    See the prior argument.

And who is to blame for not doing gens? Survivors. Your teammates. I don't need to spoon feed em what needs to be done in situation like that.

Also you make it sound like gens are on another planet and running close to the hook and to some gen takes eternity. If you play a lot you already know where gens spawn even on indoor maps.

When I get decent teammates which is more often since sbmm, 2-3 people always escape against killers who camp heavily. I wonder why.

And I didn't said camping at 5 gens is neccessary. Again. Nor it is wise unless no one does gens lol.

You can say it louder, but not more clear. People that don´t understand this point I think is more a matter of will than abouth comprehension potential.

Just because you agree with someone it doesn't mean it is a fact.

  • Why not turn off cross play tho?

Try and see how it goes. My lobby times are basically the same on or off ps4 eu.

  • To be fair I got tunneled and facecamped when playing perkless/itemless.

Not just that but bm'ed too.

Just play using whatever you like because it will happen anyway.

"Survivors are to blame for not punishing camping imo. They reward it and people will keep playing that way."

Impossible to do without a ping system for survivors to tell other survivors they are being facecamped. Camping does not have a vanilla counter that it desperately needs.

"Also camping/tunneling is sometimes neccessary and it's not done to provoke others or something like that. I know it can be frustrating tho."

Only when the game needs an absolute slowdown and perks arent going to give you a quick enough time. Even then, quite a lot of killers are capable of end-game slugging all 4 survivors and abusing any altruism that survivors might have to save their friends.

Saying "tunneling/camping is sometimes neccesary" in response to killers facecamping at 5 gens isnt exaclty an answer.

It doesn't take rocket science to see that killer is camping and go back to do gens (even without kindred) instead of not doing anything behind some rock.

Also I said it is sometimes neccessary not camping at 5 gens neccessary. Making sure camping/tunneling is not seen as something evil in all situations.

Also even if killer is camping at 5 gens 3 people can escape easily by doing gens. Just hold m1 and leave. Simple.

  • I don't have much problem with bp personally since I am not so new to the game anymore nor am I completionist.

For me it is the shards. I love cosmetics but 100 levels for one outfit is absurd.

  • I don't like playing this game on comms or with people I know.

Plus I think swf can be kinda busted.

  • I never trust clowns since most of the ones I encountered are bm'ey. Maybe I am biased tho.

  • Yeah I always say this. Even made a similar thread or two about it before.

People really hate "facecamping" from the start but they rarely punish it. Ironic.

I don't know what goes through their heads when they crouch behind that rock or teabag pointing at the killer. I seriously don't. Unless they are very new to the game.

Also doing a gen next to the hooked person is horrible play sometimes too since they can chase you away and go back to the hook.

  • Regardless what others said survivor emblems are bad and they should either revert them or rework them.

I have much easier time piping and even double piping as a killer. As a survivor sometimes it is fine but sometimes you get a series of games where you depip because you can't get 2 unhooks, heals, gens and long chase every single game. If you do others stay short.

It is like a jungle out there sometimes competing for unhooks and even farming teammates for pips.

Double pips are very very very rare compared to before in solo q. I don't even see decent surv streamers piping/double piping as often as before.
