Nothing really, I doubt I'll play again. This was the final straw.
-
Survivor is trash since 2022 and now Myers is dead to me too, barely any reason left for me to play these days.
I still play once in a blue moon/check what's new out of habit but it's not often.
-
Name checks out.
-
I tried a few games and noped the ######### out. See you in 2026.

Steagull strikes again.

I don't understand the need for people to have dramatic exits, I just can't grasp the concept. Nevertheless I wish you all the best.
I find it frightening that people are demanding a person should single-handedly disable downvotes. It shows that some people have a strange worldview, where whatever a vocal minority seems to have decided is immediately carried out with the stroke of a pen (spoiler: nothing has been decided).
It's awkward, the mindset of people trying to remove a way to express for OTHER PEOPLE how they feel about a topic or a statement. People seem to use the argument that if you downvote, you're obliged to explain why you downvoted. Why? Who made that rule? Is this a chapter in the Upvoters Handbook for Downvoters? Nobody seems to expect an explanation on an upvote. Kinda strange if you think about it, you could like something but for a completely different reason (again: which nobody asks for, but when it's a downvote, then it's asked for). Or maybe you only agree partially. Maybe you just like the style of a post. Doesn't matter, right? For upvotes, there are different "rules". Yeah, it doesn't make sense. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes?
Take this comment as an example:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4006538#Comment_4006538
Did people upvote because they like the "The downvotes should never have returned" comment or because they just like the bird picture? It's not clear. Simple as that. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes?Upvotes can be as ambiguous as downvotes. A fact nobody wants to see or mention. Enough with the facts, let's bash downvotes. Let's call for their removal. dOwnvoteS aRE juST promOTing ToxIciTY ANd nEGATivIty AnYwaY.
We almost forgot the elephant in the room: one does not remove "negativity" by removing a downvote button. That's not how it works. There are reasons why people do not agree, and they should be able to (even if you think they should not). There could be underlying issues that make people downvote and those would need to be addressed and solved. Applying your own logic, you'd literally be removing the symptom instead of the root cause. But apparently, that's a big thing in today's society, which is: make the symptom invisible so we don't even have to acknowledge that there is a root cause. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes? Seriously when?
Downvotes should never have been removed to begin with. I appreciate upvotes and downvotes. I consider both as interaction.
So you have a great day. And by the way, you can always just downvote this response. After all, it's your right (for now), and I would never even try to take that away from you. Despite the fact that some people want to take it away from me and other likeminded people.
Someone with common sense on forums, a rare sight to behold lol.
By the way, before downvotes I don't think people even realized how many survivors are disatisfied with dbd. They were scared to speak out and now some killers are afraid of losing their echo chamber. I'm glad to see at least some things are changing.
-
How about if you miss a skillcheck you are teleported to a hook.
-
I don't think I will play him anymore and he was my favorite tbh.
Now I understand @GeneralV and Freddy situation lol. I don't care that much tho since I rarely play dbd anyway and there are other stealth killers I enjoy more.
-
As I said before, 'reworks' will never compensate for tp loss, the only thing that made him a menace.
He's not a threat anymore in any shape or form and never will be. It's over.
-
I guess I'm in minority because I enjoy fast paced matches more than the usual uneventful slog. I don't feel like playing regular dbd at all now but I have to finish the rift unfortunately before I can stop.
-
Not to mention it's sweat shuffle. It is already bad to play this mode as it is.
-
Change your diapers baby.
-
Sometimes, but I rarely play this game. If I played it more often it wouldn't go well.
The funny thing tho is that it really helps in distracting me from worse cra*p. If I'm lacking copes at certain times and feel bad I can always hop on dbd for virtual self harm.

Dude, why did you even bother typing this up? Another useless us vs them post...
Us vs them is not useless. In fact killers being loud for years made survivor experience worse. Tribalism is everywhere, if you don't embrace it you get eaten by other groups.

Anti face camp made weaker killers stronger by encouraging them to proxy camp, something they should have originally been doing.
My kind of thinking as well. I think the mechanic did took away a form of bm'ing but besides that and some specific scenarios where it could benefit surv... it didn't do much else.
Camping is still in the game like before just not in your face. Which helped some killers realise they can patrol nearby gens while proxy camping now. Let's not forget most maps got smaller and less safe over the years so that helps too to capitalize.
Playing in unfun ways rewards killers a lot unless they are facing coordinated 4man on comms. Solos wasting time trading hooks is a sign of incoming 4k a lot of the time.
Let's not forget all the fun huntresses who hook one person and proxy snipe, this mechanic is meaningless to them.
-
I think they should name dbd that.
-
It's not what it was because of what jp said. I miss pre crossplay dbd on console too, it was more chill. Ik it's not the only reason because dbd changed but still.
-
I'll give you my tombstone piece when you take it from my cold, dead hands.
-
Survs should speak more openly without fear like killers do. Instead they are hiding behind voting system often.
Unless they are happy with current state of the game lol.
-
I went against the same killer bot twice the other day. One of the ones that decimate instantly zooming around the map locked onto everyone.
Reminds me of few years ago when it was common.
-
No. Being able to opt out of being killer's plaything is amazing feature. No more ego stroking after the match is clearly over.
Feels good.

If Dead Hard is so bad, why do all the good survivors still run it? Flashbang is balanced now, just can't go through the killer's body/walls. I prefer to be the obsession when I run Object; it is SO not a bad perk, unless you've already lost anyway. Invocations aren't so black and white, as one is a BNP on every gen on-map, and the other is wall hacks against any nearby killer (unless there's like zero crows around), but yeah there's probably better stuff to run. And Desperate Measures, agreed that it's a strong perk, because besides the healing speed (which affects self-heals too) it also increases unhooking speed which catches killers off-guard.
People use dh because most survs perks are not as good as they once were so you don't have much choice anyway.
Dh is at least on demand like dramaturgy. I was never fan of lithe for example because sometimes you want to stay at the tile after you vault.
Dh is not trash like some people say but it's far from what it once was, especially og.

Because you didn't win, you conceded. You can still get a win if you want to. Just kill the bots.
The abandon mechanic is just there so you don't have to bother.
They can't humiliate bots so it's not fun.
-
Object of obsession is underrated.
Killers often have some kind of aura reading and it's not like stealth is an option in dbd anymore so it's actually value to see the killer often rather than not.
It's only an issue if you are the last surv/killer slugged but at that point there is a high chance you will die anyway.
I used it a lot the other day and got more value than I thought I would. I did run otr and ds most of the time but killers can tunnel you regardless of ooo. It's not something you aren't used to if you actually play surv enough.

had a blight today
pain res, grim, bbq chilli, indoors map.
A hook quiter
Years ago I was against giving up but now it's different. Play this game however you see fit and don't let others shame you. If you feel it's not worth putting an effort in a match, don't. I say that as someone who sometimes tries his best in a losing game, but also as someone who doesn't if I don't feel like it.
Good plays are not rewarded when you play solo q often so who cares. At the end, only your fun matters. This is why after a series of bad games I start memeing regardless if others hate me for it. I make killers open empty lockers and yeet myself of basement hooks with wicked.
I don't owe this community anything and neither do you.

what’s the point of queing up k owing your gonna lose almost all of your games. Thats what survivor would feel like with a 75% kill rate
It already feels like that to me and yet game is matching me vs streamers who play this game for a living 24/7.
I honestly feel like punching bag most of the time when I play survivor nowadays. Only time it feels alright is when I come back after a long break but after a day or two I get thrown back into a meat grinder again.
Some of us should be paid for making streamers look better than they are.
-
The only meme I got when I tried it was being humped on the ground for 4 minutes after killer tunneled one person out.
After another game I noped tf out of that mode. No need for more masochism than I already have in normal mode.

As far as I can tell there is no way to remap it for controller in the options, but thanks for the suggestion.
There is for a while now.
Options>input binding>pick up item/interactions and actions. It takes time to get use to but it's worth it to change it in general.

They've never managed that behavior out of the community or discouraged it in any way. They reward that behavior with a consistent dopamine hit. The easiest way to win is to out-sweat your opponent, and they give killers and SWFs every tool to do that.
You're never really forced to wait on an appropriate matchup if you play like that either. Your reward for hard tunneling some solo queue players with 1/5th of your hours? The chance to instantly queue up and do it again for the next 10 games.
I never get dopamine hit if something is piss easy. It doesn't matter if it's single or multiplayer game.
People who do are the same ones who feel like gods when some random trophy/ach pops up. Gaming getting more and more popular is probably because of companies appealing to dunning kruger society.
-
Most bubbles are just irritating even on surv side (hook notif obscuring kindred for example).
I don't like it in general. It just obscures my vision in ridiculous way. It needs to be toned down or changed completely.
-
I was on 7m too but I'm trying to keep it under 5. Super tedious spending bps all the time. Wish I could use everything instantly.
-
"Did you have fun?"
No!
-
Most popular games are played by minors. Ik it's hard for some adults to grasp that but you are playing multiplayer games with them constantly.
Hell not just that, that one person you argued with online is probably a kid lol.
Fnaf or no fnaf it doesn't matter really. That's what you get when you play with dolls.
-
I just wish I could get perks without buying characters I won't touch.
Before someone says 'shrine of secrets', think again. How many perks keep piling up and what are the chances of ever getting the one you need?
-
I would say I get them 30% of the time now.
-
And how did that made lol or any other playerbase less toxic?
Is there any noticeable difference in behaviour just because of the 'reward'? When you look at this game people throw bps or whatever quite often into the water just to make someones experience less enjoyable.
I am not against it just asking btw.
-
Let's be real, the main issue is the bm and humiliation not the length of animation.
Dbd community loves to rub it in. Sometimes it can also be the game making them frustrated and them taking it out on you like dbd is your design.
I'm not excusing anyone btw but it's pretty common experience and won't ever change.
-
Matchmaking is the biggest reason it can feel that way.

The definition of "second chance" has been beaten into meaninglessness at this point. There are absolutely people who use this phrase to describe a survivor perk or item that "does anything". And, even worse, it often gets applied to things that literally do nothing (AFC, for example).
^ this. And IMO the definition of a "second chance perk" was dead when Killer Mains started to call DH a second Chance Perk (old DH). With DH being bugged for years, using it for distance was the only way to use it and Killer Mains started to say that DH is used to correct a mistake done by the Survivor (second chance), while the Survivor was actually greeding the Loop because DH gave the ability to do so.
So instead of thinking of it as a smart and calculated thing to do, Killers decided that it was a mistake and therefore a second chance-Perk. Absolutely wild.
Chase perks won't do much for someone who doesn't play well but some killers act like everyone is invincible when they use them. They can observe their own games and see this is the case but they won't, instead tribalism reigns supreme.
What I find funny is how after all the map and perk nerfs over the years they still want more. It's never enough and won't be and it's evident when you watch some streamers these guys look up to. They can win every match in one day and if they struggle just a tiny bit they will call survs op.
This is why we as humans suck because you can see this everywhere even outside gaming. Every group wants to eat the other and language is just a tool for manipulation, but I don't want to derail further.
-
Dead rabbit and monitor combo was actually not that uncommon many years ago, nurses too on Myers when people healed more often.
I don't like vanity because aura range and tr is important. Even with dr and m&a better survs are more alert and you end up being just m1 killer they can react to.
-
Yeah at this point you have to buy licensed chapters for the perks even if you dislike the characters and don't want to play them.
-
When mmr works (close matches) yes, or when I have fun my own way after a bad streak.
Otherwise not really, but I don't force myself to play if I don't want to. There are other games and stuff to do.
-
It's weird to say this but its my least favorite map now and previously it was midwich.
-
I was surprised by barely any penalty for running with cans tbh. I expected having to walk to preserve blood but it's pointless.

Standard event.
