I usually play a bit after work 'my time' (4pm) and maybe some between 10pm-1am depending on what other stuff I have on the go.
I think I get 'server bounced' a lot due to my weird geographical location, though.
Are you also eu? Do you notice any difference?
For me it was really evident since I first payed attention to it. And since then I either play surv during the day or after midnight.
Killer on the other hand is a lot more chill in early evening and rough during the day.

Did you play after and figure out/patch any holes you saw?
Nah. But after trying to play solo at times I avoid (early evening) I noticed that my experience was actually worse than playing after midnight.
That is why I always mention this as something people should try more if they can.

Hobby or not Its like chasing the dragon though... You get a ultimate high when you do good and when you lose it makes you feel like you did something wrong. So if you are having an off night and lose every game you enjoy it? If you do then you aren't very competitive and if you don't continue to play and instead go to another game then its also a sign you aren't very competitive or else the losing would drive you to try to turn the night around not just going out like a quitter. Not the best thing for mental health I'm just providing you to the insight of other players I'm not trying to tell you how you feel when you play just how other people play and that's what the OP was about. If I'm not good at something I will continue to make myself miserable doing it until I get better at it.
Idc about dying or losing otherwise I wouldn't try and succeed in beating tree sentinel without taking any damage in elden ring for example. With lvl 1 wretch.
You are making assumptions without even knowing me. I grew up on platformers/beatemups where if you die you lose all the progress you made. As 8 year old I played double dragon & battletoads on nes for days until I was the only one in neighborhood who was able to beat it every time I attempted it. Kids didn't believe me saying that game was impossible lol. It is still a hard game even for an adult to complete in one go but I never gave up on it at the time.
I am stubborn I can set my mind on goals. Losing doesn't bother me when I am trying to achieve something challenging because feeling you get is worth it for me.
I don't take dbd seriously tho because it is imbalanced and too rng based compared to some other multiplayer games.
But even if I did I wouldn't feel bad failing if I had goals in mind. Even if I gave up on something I tried to achieve I wouldn't feel bad about it. I remember beating 2 babels in catherine and gave up on third. I spent some time on it but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I had fun.
I can understand people feeling bad if they fail but it is not something that bothers me personally. Games are games. And it doesn't mean I give up and I'm not competetive because I am not feeling super bad about failing. Challenging things can be fun regardless if you succeed or not. I also did really well in some multiplayer games when I set my mind on it. Failling doesn't affect me.
But if someone is affected by a game in a very bad way they shouldn't play it. There is no point imo. I see people calling each other all sorts of names and losing hair about it. Which is borderline unhealthy.

It’s a hobby to casual players some people don’t play casual they play to win and not just in this game in all games people watch hours of videos watch hours of their own games to see where you made fault I play games like that but after playing dbd and it’s bugginess I had to stop taking it seriously but I still play other games looking for all the metas and studying the games.
It is still a hobby regardless if you are casual or not. It is something you do in a free time unless you benefit from it financially.
I also like to perfect most of the games I play since I was a kid and sometimes even challenge myself beyond that to achieve some really hard things.
But it is still a hobby to me regardless of the effort I put into it. And if I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't do it. There is no point.

Pretty much this.
You invest time in games to have fun. I don't understand this argument.
It is not a business for most of us so why keep investing? What do you get? Feeling bad? Where is your reward except the potential good time?

Am I dumb or this thread was about trickster previously?

I use max for both roles but keep in mind I don't play huntress, trickster or slinger.

Mindsets are formed either by your own experience or by following someone else's experience blindly. I don't watch streamers or youtubers, so my mindset comes from my own experience and my own games.
I'm not the only one having a bad week in solo q, since there has been more threads and people complaining more recently.
Solo Q has never been great, but this past week, surely something is not right.
I don't mind sweaty games and I dont mind losing if I know that I had least had a chance. People in my lobby with less than 100 hours and people suiciding almost every game at 5 gens throws that chance out of the window.
I'd rather go against 100 nurses in a row if I know my team mates are at least trying and aren't new.
Would you say your escape rate is at least around 30-50%?
If not I would like to play some games with you (no comms) if you are eu. Just to see if we get teammates who do nothing all the time or killers who camp and tunnel every game. But I would like big enough sample to say for sure.
Until I see it with my own eyes I can't really aknowledge it. You are most likely much better surv than me but I think problem lies elsewhere.

So you do agree the forum is killer sided.
I have no problem with killer players, however I do have a problem with being called a "cry baby" or having people saying I'm as good as a 20 hour meg just because I said the solo q experience isnt good.
You're devotion 9 on your survivor account and I am devotion 25 almost 26.
If a killer player says they arent enjoying the game, they dont get attacked like other people have been for saying the same about solo q.
This was not a you vs them comment, it was experience you can observe with your own eyes, which I'm sure you have, since you yourself said the forums are killer sided.
I don't agree with that attitude towards you either. I still think you have bad mindset tho. Two wrongs don't make one more valid.
And my point about devotion is that I played more survivor than killer.

You aren't allowed to complain about solo q on these forums, that makes you a cry baby. You can only complain about playing killer. You should know that by now.
If you are dying as survivor, it is 100% your fault and you need to get good at the game.
If you are doing poorly has killer, it's swf, dead hard, BT, DS, bad matchmaking.
While I agree this forum is probably still killer sided a bit, how did you manage to make this us vs them I wonder.
Opinion that solo q is bad is popular one. And how everyone except the one talking about it is bad is a also a popular and supported mindset. Even in this thread. Look how many people will support and upvote solo q bad posts, not to mention others.
In my first post in this thread I also mentioned killers that complain about not getting kills every match. And I also have 9 devotion on my surv account and only 3 on killer. Guess I am a killer main too.
People disagreeing with you doesn't make them a killer main. I think both sides exaggerate their experience because they are prone to tantrums and emotional outbursts. Most of the community also likes to blame everything on anyone else without self reflection like I said.
Plenty of people like that even outside gaming.
-
I tried using some memeish build on him when I last played him and I think it worked better than snares for me.
I used sf, enduring and dream pallets. Really weird experience but if I ever decide to play him again I will definitely not touch snares anymore.

Amazing news!
I've got both Plus Premium and Game Pass...it is a good time to be a gamer, for sure.
Glad you're having a time :3
Yeah, btw maybe that is why some people get into negative mindset. They rarely take a break from dbd and that is the only game they play.
I would maybe be like that as well but I just do what I feel like.
Sometimes I binge dbd, other times I play it here and there and some times I don't play dbd for a long time/just watch the streams of it.
I still appreciate the game tho and I am interested in it. Hence why I don't just forget it. It is interesting game even with all the flaws and currently no asymmetrical horror game can compete with it. We will see how tcm turns out to be but dbd has a lot of licenses and original content they do is also pretty decent most of the time.
In the end gaming is a hobby for most of us and we should enjoy it. People shouldn't force themselves to do what they hate.

Is that the one that just dropped on PS+?
If so, derail away and let me know how it is :P
Yes lol. If we exclude the spin offs it is my favorite already compared to 1, 2 and 3.
I didn't expect it to be this good honestly. Gameplay is deeper now with some new stuff and there are also more characters with unique playstyles you can play as on certain levels.

Don't worry you're not alone. I'd say the good and neutral games outweigh the bad. I really think people are way too harsh and critical when judging other players. That being said, I'm a bit on a downer with the game right now and only have played about 4 matches in the past 2 weeks. Been relaxing playing Graveyard Keeper.
How is that game? I wanted to try it a while ago but never did.
I might try it soon but currently playing crash 4.
Also sorry for the derail.

Ok I should probably just play killer I'm easily frustrated in solo q, what do you guys think of some form of kindred basekit ? I would love to see that change honestly it's not much compared to all killers buffs
I think base kindred would be fine if they remove the killer aura.
And if you like surv you should try it more honestly. When I first tried dbd I had a really bad killer game so I just played surv until few months later. Then I started to enjoy it more as I opened myself up to it.
I still have more hours on surv tho but I enjoy killer as well. And it helps with the variety.

The killers I'm facing are not potatoes, though I have been seeing more trappers and onis recently, but it's still mostly, huntress, nurses and blights.
I play during the day and at night, at night it gets way worse when it comes to team mates.
The only times I was getting good teams was when I was playing crossplay off and even that I cant anymore because queue times are long there now.
I would avoid hours where your experience is the worst, better to play something else than being more irritated honestly. And try going from there.
Having negative mindset and feeling bad will drag you down along with everything else trust me.
In the end you can only try to improve your own stuff and you can't control what your teammates do or don't unless you swf.
I hope you get better experience in the future.

I had players with 20 hours on my matches yesterday. I had an elodie give up at 5 gens when she saw it was a blight. I had another person from here do the same thing because again, blight.
I streamed all of this yesterday, so people who watched my stream know what's up. It's pretty bad.
Have you tried playing during different hours? Are killers you are getting also that inexperienced?
I am asking because I usually avoid playing surv during early evenings/before midnight eu.

Oh it is not the case. Like I said just yesterday someone from these forums who was in a duo and happened to be on my team left me die on first hook bc they didnt like it was a blight.
But it doesn't happen every single game right?
What is your escape rate?

Honestly I 100% agree with people crying about solo Q, maybe I'm better at killer than survivor, maybe I'm not as good as I think Idk but solo q is painful I'm not having a good time at all.
I just wish I could enjoy both sides and with the killer buffs soon I feel like kindred basekit is not too much to ask for us solo players, I mean I only play solo and I probably escape 3/10 games on average, and because of it I'm not even enjoying when I stomp bad teams as killer because I know how it feels, it doesn't feel like a balanced game every match is a mismatch
I played solo on and off since 2018 and I don't see it. My experience is also better since sbmm.

You realize you are telling on yourself, right? If you are being consistently matched with/against noobs, you are not as good as you think you are.
I don't think it is neccessarily low mmr and even if it was it is nothing to be ashamed about in this game.
What I think is that people are too hard on everyone except themselves and always look for excuses. They also take dbd seriously which is also a mistake.
I actually had to ditch a rl friend when it comes to games because he was always raging and lacked any self reflection to overcome something. It just brings my mood down for zero reason.

I'd duo with you or anyone that needs a hand.
I'm probably not as good as most people on here, tbh, but I do cling to gens/win chases/bounce when I feel like it's the best move in Solo.
I appreciate all the players I play with/against, though, as they literally make the game.
Also not that good but my experience is not even close to what people describe here. I am not tunneled and camped every single game like people claim and my teammates are not more useless than me.
When I play killer it is not 4 minute 0k every game either. And I play m1s a lot, although I let some people go often so that might impact my mmr but still.
I am aware that this game is imbalanced for both sides and anything can happen but the reality is totally different for me than what people describe. I also don't really care much whatever other players do. I comment on it but I am not prone to being impulsive and throwing tantrums about players in the game. I even laugh it off sometimes if I am killed really fast or barely got a hook as killer.
I think people are driven by negative emotions and it shows during/after anything "competitive". That is why I don't believe them. They will exxagerate and they also have terrible mindset. Being chill is way better, win or lose who cares.
I also played surv with @TheShapesMixtape two times, no comms. If someone think I am lying or lucky how come that dude has the similar experience at least as surv?
You are not dying or being camped/tunneled every damn game and you are not getting 0k either. But whatever go on. I already understand what they are all doing.

Ah I see. I would say go for one for the killer you play the most. I like Susie so it would be her probably.

That's another good point. Farming, especially temporary teamups for achievements and rift challenges, would shoot through the roof. I wouldn't hate that myself (well, just the rift challenges, because points farming every other game is boring as sin), but there's no way BHVR wants that to happen.
I was mostly thinking about the streams I've watched where the Jason was shrieking into the mic or ranting about replacement theory, but the non-games are an issue too.
I meant it more as jasons teaming with one of their friends to kill everyone else. It always killed the enjoyment of the game for me and it was too common.
-
I was ok with old animations but looking at them now, they look goofy and I like the current ones better.
-
That is the only thing I disliked about ft13th which also allowed jasons to team up with counselors easier.
I prefer dbd the way it is.

WoO is one of the best perks in the game, imo.
I use it and can run just about any killer for 2-3 gens unless an ungodly amount of pallets are pre-burnt.
It is my favorite perk but you need to camp pallets and either tbag or click. If you do it at the same time you need to uninstall.
