But also, I've literally seen killers argue on this forum that it's their right to snipe if you're going to advertise it, idk why you're acting like people don't snipe lol.

Who says it's an offhand comment?
The wiki, as far as I can tell, generally bases that stuff on what the devs actually said at some point. When some of the admins were still active on here, you could tell they were very passionate about accuracy of the stuff they put on the wiki. Judging by that, it wouldn't sense for them to make that statement up and put it there, that seems to go against their core philosophy.
Because I checked the edit history and that comment wasn't added until 2020
I would love it if anyone can find the source of it being added due to "immense demand", if no Dev has ever said that (I cannot find it) then it is absolutely an offhand comment.
Edit: I've spoken to the wiki people and they've said the quote isn't an "offhand comment" it's definitely something the Devs said they just don't know when they said, or where they said it they just say it definitely happened which is funny because it was only added In 2020 and they have no source for it other than they're sure it was said

It was never according to plan. It was after they released the game, after having Kill Your Friends and by popular demand.
And by the way, the dev chat I posted is from 2018, well before that 2019 patch you're citing, so I have no idea why you think survivors weren't playing in swfs on comms from 2016 through 2018.Because Discord was not that popular back in the day, I suppose. Players need something easy to use when doing Voice Comms because the game does not support voice comms natively. As it would be blatantly cheating, and again, because they never had it planned in first place.
Discord released in 2015, I made my account before DBD even came out, and a whole year before I started playing even, you are talking absolute nonsense lmao.

The third time I am telling you. The networking code was already implemented, the lobbies, the match making it was all already there.
SWF was a tweak rather than a full blown feature. Yet still, from my link above:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QHVPO3PY1GT6/image.png
Following popular requests != according to plan. SWF as it is now is from 2019 though it seems.
Nevertheless, SWF is a mistake when it becomes to balancing the game, specially when people say "Nurse breaks the rules of the game", I suppose we refer to the Entitled Survivors Rules of The Game.
Why are you highlighting an offhand comment made by the people who run the wiki (Which is not BHVR), this isn't written by BHVR lmao what a joke.

Can you show me the swathes of threads calling NOED, Nurse & Killers cheating? There are countless threads about "nerf Nurse" who "breaks the rules of the game". No need to do so, everyone knows.
There are plenty of complains from Survivors saying that Killers "cheat" "play unfair" via Camping and Tunneling, too. Survivor even invented the words even though... it´s base mechanic and its allowed by the game rules.
She definitely breaks the game, she literally teleports through every survivor defense (windows & pallets), still not the same as calling it cheating, though.
Show me these threads comparing "unfair play" to calling it cheating, you're obviously can't because you know survivors aren't literally calling killers cheaters for tunneling or camping etc, they definitely call it unfair and unfun, but calling it cheating they're not, this is cringe lmao.

No no, people complain about nurse, therefore calling SWF cheating is fine... or something... I'm still trying to figure it out honestly.

If that was the case there would be voice comms in-game implemented by the house. The game was not designed originally with voice comms in mind, or else, there would be at least a chat inside of the game during trials, too.
Fact is, Voice Comms give an unfair advantage, you can call it cheating or whatever you prefer. I don´t care what devs say. It´s like when people obsess not to "shame and name" people who cheat... like if they would care.
Also it´s fun how people defend devs when they say SWF is not cheating then you refer to rules and what not, but 90% Survivors moan about NOED, Nurse and Killers "tunneling".
What point are you making here? Can you show me the swathes of threads calling NOED, Nurse & Killers cheating? People are entitled to moan about whatever they want whether you agree with them or not, if someone wants a little moan about Calm Spirit, they're entitled to, but it's not even on the scale of lying to yourself and trying to convince yourself that something is cheating when it isn't.
SWF was always intended, as they've discussed many times, and with SWF comes comms. Also with the development cycle of Dead By Daylight starting where it did, a pretty small company back then probably didn't have the means of implementing it cleanly, the game was also P2P which makes it harder, especially when the killer is host, and then comes along Discord before Dedicated servers get added and there is almost no point in adding in game comms and adding more spaghetti code to the game.
-
@TheLastHook said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3065906#Comment_3065906
One thing is promoting SWF or allowing voice comms. Another thing is that it gives you unintended or unfair advantage vs other players including the Killer. SWF + voice comms is unfair against Killers and Solo Q and it does not matter what the devs say or try to implant in players head.
Does it give an advantage that you would not have outside of the game or give you free perks? YES IT DOES
That is cheating. Plain and simple, you can sugar coat it? yes. But we can all agree and do like if it wasn´t and sure devs don´t like people pointing the obvious when they don´t have a solution.
But the fact is the fact.
Except with adding SWF they clearly meant for you to talk to each other, no company on planet earth adds a "play with friends" option and doesn't expect you to use voice comms, that would be silly.

Forgive me, for I am now an old fogie... and also too lazy to take a normal screenshot and crop it. Taking a PC selfie and emailing it to myself was easier.
Anyways - I hope something brings you back to the game, even if it's to try a PTB out here and there, good luck playing whatever sinks it's hook into you next.

A nice QoL BHVR should implement is doubling BP rewards once a tome is over as you're not earning shards anymore, might make these harder challenges a little more worth it.

SO WHAT if I don't have any friends to actually play with that's not the point I'm trying to make here, it's just ridiculous to use a team mode in a video game like, why would you literally ever do that, goofing off with FRIENDS? lol who needs that, I can goof off all by myself I don't need anyone.

It's meta because it's needed to stop instant downing off the hook, the time is irrelevant.
-
Because people keep making threads about it 😈
-
Endurance stacking has already been addressed
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/341
From the article
Endurance
The Endurance effect has been a hot topic for discussion since the PTB went live. Historically this status effect has been used very sparingly, but with the advent of new ways to get the effect, some of you made it your personal mission to chain together as many Endurance effects as you could.
While this is technically working as designed, avoiding multiple hits in a row is not something that we want to see. As a result, the Endurance effect will no longer protect you from going down if you already have the Deep Wound status effect. This effectively limits the number of hits you can avoid with Endurance to 1 (until you mend your wounds), keeping it as a powerful effect than can be included on various perks while providing a hard limit to how powerful it can be.
As a note, you may still gain the Endurance status effect while you have Deep Wounds. This is intended: While it won’t prevent you from avoiding a hit, it will take effect if you’re able to mend your wounds while the effect is still active.

The game isn't about to change massively.Maps aren't getting smaller. M1 killers wont be viable. Pallet counts are not changing. The power of Shift W and pallet pre-drops will not change.
All the gen defense perks will be massacred; with that in mind gens will take less time overall. Looking just at Pop - it is easy to get about 5-6 Pops per game if you are not playing a super organized team. That means you make gens take 110 seconds longer.
If you lose 3 gens in the first chase that means those three gens take 10 seconds longer and the other two gens take 7 seconds longer each. The last time I checked 44-110 is a negative number. This is only considering a single perk being changed.
and just like survivors can pre drop, killers can camp all game (psst, they don't though so what's your point) I bet in your last 50 matches you haven't played someone dropping pallets as hard as Spooky does in that video because most survivors enjoy trying to mind game and actually play loops, if you're just going to come up with "but look at what x COULD do every game" knowing full well 99% of matches don't go that way then it is pointless conversing with you because you're already determined to play the woe is me killer is too hard yada yada gens too fast yada yada.

How exactly are generators slow with lots of camping? Are the survivors afk? Are they hiding? If a killer camps there is zero pressure on the survivors to stop them from finishing generators.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3065229#Comment_3065229
If you watch Otz you will often see him 4k vs bad survivors and explain that he only won because he has ~9k hours of experience. This video shows exactly the same. Three of the survivors could have just left the game "marth style" (see the marth experiment if you don't follow that reference) and it would have been a 1k game. Even one of the survivors in the end game chat said the other survivors fed themselves to the killer.
Is this the experiment that is over 4 years old now at this point?
Saving people is part of the game, you don't suddenly get to not count kills because "they could have escaped". If survivors argued that a killer "could have camped all game" and got one kill you would argue that doesn't matter either.
-
@DBDVulture said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3065205#Comment_3065205
Consider two different game flow paths:
1) There are lots of chases and the generators are slow.
2) The generators are fast and there is lots of camping.
Which path sounds more fun as a survivor?
Why do you suddenly care about survivor fun?
Whenever people talk about this killers (and survivors alike) usually say "It isn't my job to make sure your game is fun" but now you're trying to use the argument that slow gens + lots of chases is better because "survivors will have fun", on the flipside, the most complained killer is nurse, someone who is incredibly fast at chases and ends games quickly, or legion, who drags games out to be 15+ minutes sometimes. It's ridiculous, a gen pops I carry on the chase why do I care if a gen pops, now or in 5 minutes as long as I'm getting decent chases it doesn't matter to me as the match isn't over yet.
-
@DBDVulture said:

The outcome of the game in terms of kills/escapes is not a good measuring spot for how much fun you had.
When I play dbd I don't suddenly get sad and have no fun when a survivor goes down, in turn I also don't get sad and stop having fun because a generator gets done.
-

Do you think you would genuinely have had fun if you were playing killer and lost 4 generators after 2:22?
I honestly wouldn't care, some games I 4K with no gens done, some games I 4K with the exit gates open, people focus far too much on a gen being done honestly.
-
I always skip to the end of these because he always 4Ks on these matches that he complains about gens being done too fast.

They're always looking into it, even games like Valorant, that install a literal rootkit to prevent cheaters still has cheaters in it.

If you have exactly 2 pages of purple perks this would be 90 perk levels this would grant you 1 "free" prestige levels
If you have 2 full pages but many loose perks here and there like a couple of pages it may be 2 levels
- 1 level for 70-119 Perks
- 2 levels for 120-169 Perks
- 3 levels for 170-219 Perks
- 4 levels for 220-269 Perks
- 5 levels for 270-319 Perks
- 6 levels for 320+ Perks
-
This is implying you would even do better against survivors not using Dead Hard.

Because you're P3 you'll go to P9 anyway and that'll be that, you can
- Earn levels from being X amount of prestige, 2 per prestige
P1 - P3 After Update
P2 - P6 After Update
P3 - P9 After Update
2. Prestiges based on the amount of perks you have, if you have P3 you won't gain any prestige levels from perks.
Edit: I read what you put wrong, I read 97 perks at P3, silly me.

bruh, you can't be serious?

VAC bans are for Valve Server games, as dbd doesn't run on Valve servers they don't get blocked from playing.
Additionally, people grow up, and kids are stupid, I've seen people with a single ban that is like 2500 days old, that's almost 7 years, that's the difference between an 11 year old and an 18 year old, people definitely grow up and take game more seriously.

People will literally just Alt + F4, there are also definitely programs that can force a crash on another program, this won't fix anything, DCs aren't that detrimental to the game honestly.
-
- If things go like they usually do, it'll be the 19th, but BHVR have been releasing things on the Wednesday the past couple of times, so could be the 20th
- Teachables no longer exist and unlocking them is tied to prestiging, but I understand what you're saying, I'd still Say Bill(UB), Laurie(DS), Meg(Sprint Burst & Adrenaline), David (WGLFs new pick up is nice) are probably the best 4 to go for on the survivor side, killer side hasn't changed much honestly so I would still follow older guides for those.
- No, BHVR has not enabled KB&M support on consoles.
-
This is it, this is all we're getting... lol.
Reminds me of those old beer apps you could get on your iPod touch in school, lmao.

I stopped prestiging around the time Felix & The Blight came out, during the event and some days after I got every killer & survivor after Felix & Blight to P2 Level 50, currently playing them all to use their flans until the day before the patch.

Plus if the killer bot hooks someone, all 3 survivors are standing less than 10 feet from the hook, I bet he camps. Why would he leave if he knows everyone is there?
oh gosh, not t-bagging :(
What point are you making here?
I don't think most survivors complain about a killer camping if all three of them are standing there, however... he was likely camping before hand if all three survivors have managed to make their way to the killer, lol.

People come to this game because of these franchises and are leave soon after.
New killers probably shouldn't be buying all the dlc killers and expecting to be good with them
-
I would honestly only call gen rushing, gen rushing if the team is stacking full toolboxes with BNPs and prove thyself.
Currently I get called a gen rusher is the gens get done and the killer applies 0 pressure, like what do you want me to do? Save people you don't hook? Remove totems that aren't active?

Let killers surrender once gates are open, or EGC starts. And make EGC start once 5 gens are done but always last 4 minutes.
Now if survs wait at gates you can just surrender and move on with your life instead of being forced to wait or getting tbagged at gate every match.
You can also just walk towards the gate at make them leave as well.
Devs said it's perfectly fine for killers to bleed survivors out during EGC, I think killers can handle holding W for a few more seconds to the exit gate honestly, I understand it's annoying but it really does have a way to be stopped quickly.

Us vs them isn't good at all. The problem though is that the teabagging Ghostface post was made by someone who has vigorously defended teabagging and annoying the Killer so that gives it less weight than a post from someone who hasn't done that.
Also, saying but Killers hit on hook! is whataboutism. It's toxic but is also BMing. People mention survivors more because Killer BM is not as common as survivor BM and, if you play both sides, you'll learn that survivors are overall more toxic even including the 4 to 1 ratio.
I'd also add that Killers hitting on hook can be seen as less offensive by some people but not by all since teabagging is literally a virtual simulation of a sexual act performed on an unwilling person (although some don't realize that) and flashlight clicking can set off headaches. Pointing and saying come get me with a gesture isn't complained about even a small fraction as much, because while it can be used to taunt, it doesn't have the same implications as the other two actions.
t-bagging in dbd is not even t-bagging, it's spam crouching, actual t-bagging is doing it ontop of the dead body of your opponent, and comparing either of these things to actual t-bagging is comical and in totally bad faith as you are fully aware they aren't the same things at all, what an embarrassing comment to make.
-

No problem, you can gaslight the Killers you come across if they're offended by it too.
Also, I can't believe some people get offended by comments people make on a forum. I think their egos are so big that something so small as words on a forum sends them off the deep end.
I'm offended?
The fact you made this argument means you truly don't believe that t-bagging is offensive as you're implying I shouldn't find anything on the forums offensive, you've killed off your own argument if you wish to go that route.
also again, not offended just humoured by the dbd community who are the only ones who could find spam crouching offensive

Ok, as long as we punish killers for hitting survivors on hook and nodding when they down survivors.
T-bagging is fine. It's annoying and immature, but it's just a emote. It doesn't effect gameplay or balancing.
I made a post about being t-bagged by ghost face a week or so ago and a couple of the comments were saying it's ok because it's a killer doing it, the double standard is real, I think egos are too big so anything small like spam crouching sends them off the deep end.
-
Going to spend my dbd time tomorrow t-bagging every killer i Vs just because of this post 🥰
