That Jill seem like a douche then, but honestly I don't hope this new HUD Icons will lead to Survivors complaining to each other.

People do take this Videogame a lil too serious at times, however I guess MMR needs some tightening up in the high end if this is a regular experience. But doing that WILL increase Q time.

It doesn't matter what mmr you are, if you are actively doing nothing all game and it seems bhvr has the resources to detect this, you should be suspended unless within a 50 hour threshold after starting(to be fair to this player base which is not good at video games). I genuinely enjoy playing survivor with my new dbd friend and my survivor main friend, but having a random that has new dbd friends chase level while also not doing gens makes the games feel unwinnable(they are in that scenario). I want to get better at survivor, but people take this game too casually, I'll SAY IT!!! I'm trying to win in a even match but, rando decides to: DC, do nothing, hide, do challenges, do tomes and it's too depressing. Most killers are bad and losing to them because it's a 3v1 feels awful.

  • It's very slippery but at least it can be put to your advantage and is actually fun. Swamp on the other hand is just 🤢. Honestly though, Borgo is way worse. So much lack of collision.

  • @drsoontm said:

What @Sava18 said. Moreover, if the killer knows the other did nothing, he may try instead to focus on finding the useless survivor and kill him. (I would certainly try to, even without the one active survivor submitting.)

If it's reasonable to find the survivor actively not trying. They are dead and the other is out the hatch. Can't stand people who give up like that.

Same. It’s so rare I see a survivor that has the actual knowledge to counter my flicks and bump logic. Too many of them just try to hold W. Edit: or the most common, them trying to greed a pallet that’s surrounded by bump logic objects. I don’t know why they try and greed so hard EVERY TIME.

It's genuinely hard to play vs blight. But no other killer allows for both sides to have counterplay at the same time consistently.

As you said it's too bad survivors just don't see or understand collision. IT"S NOT MY FAULT THEY DON"T REALIZE THAT ANGLE ON THAT T-pee doesn't have collision. I know it's overused and used poorly on this forum but it really is a skill issue.

I often throw my games if the Killer adheres to my name, so I might be lowering my chances of catching a good Blight.

Maybe Ill try to get this mmr/sbmm.. whatever it is now up. I just know I enjoy a hard Blight/Nurse/whatever.

MMR doesn't work very well but if there is an excess of killers around your mmr you will get matched with them. So if you enjoy a good blight, try to raise it. I would think late afternoon to early evening is prime time for getting matched with what you are looking for, though I could be wrong. Although an actually good blight is probably really rare. There's a good chance that a high mmr is a mediocre blight running c33 or tunneling straight off hook with alch ring.

Just as I play at 12AM-4AM in hopes of going against the rare truly skilled survivors, only to get matched with marginally more skilled survivors running really strong builds, you may experience the same thing with killers. I don't tunnel because I want to see a survivors full potential in chase starting healed. But at least 95% of the player base don't think like that.

  • I can barely get myself to spend bp, you think I can remember to put on the event offering.

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

Wish i could find some of these lethal Blights.

Too much effort for 99% of the player base to actually get good/understand Blight to a proficient level.

  • I understand not wanting the other guy to get out because they didn't even try. If I am in that situation and realize the other survivor is just going to hide the entire time. I'll go find the killer myself to die. It's almost like the reverse scenario of killer giving hatch for a faster end game, I give my life for a faster end game that is over. Something should be done about it eventually but hiding indefinitely is not something that should ever be allowed.

Oh boo boo, you can’t mindlessly hold that precious W key against blight. I’m sorry he calls for actual skill to be in chase with.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330245#Comment_3330245

I would argue moonrush is not a bug. Being able to slide off objects was intentionally added via blight pov at the time of rushing.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330365#Comment_3330365

Maybe they won’t fix it. Plenty of “bugs” get left and added as base game. It happens ALL the time. But time will tell.

I don’t think y’all realize that the hug tech is simply a more fun way to go for flicks. 95% of the hits I land with a hug tech are me taking a risk for the sake of fun, where I can get a GUARANTEED hit using bump logic. Not to mention, the hug tech is MUCH more counterable than simple bump logic. It is easy to see if a blight is about to hugtech because it takes 2-3 seconds to set up.

If they patch it out, it’s going to be less fun for both sides.

If he responds, there is no point in conversation with hilllbillymain. I had a back a fourth with him where he ignored everything I said, just to say blight op dirty exploit abuser. Didn't matter what the topic was.

I mean, balancing does not mean that both sides need to be hit equally like "1 Perk from Killer, 1 Perk from Survivor". Personally, I think DH is fine. The main complaint all the time was "DH for distance" and this is gone. That the Perk is used a lot does not make it problematic.

However, both sides will get a few Perks changed and I also hope that they revisit some of the Perks they already changed. E.g. I would be happy if they return DS to 5 seconds or make Ruin or Iron Will worth using (IMO Ruin disabling when someone is dead while staying at 200% regression and Iron Will reducing Grunts of Pain by 100% while making perma-exhausted would be great, but I dont think BHVR agrees on that...).

But what I really fear is that they nerf even more Perks just for the sake of removing them from the Meta, like they did with the first Perk Rework (e.g. DS was fine after deactivating in Endgame, Ruin would have been fine with one of the Nerfs as written above, PGTW did not really need a change (even tho, in retrospect with all the other Gen-Kicking Perks I am quite happy to not see PGTW in it as well...))

Nah iron will should stay dead permanently. The worst perk design ever, even when factoring in god validation dh. If you got value out of iron will pre-patch, you didn't do anything special the chase just ended. Going for a mindgame as killer was instantly responded to with W on the survivors end due to iron will.

  • What you said is correct. BUT, it's also because a good portion of players aren't trying or aren't good.

  • @Irisora said:

If you check the profiles of the people that plays like this most of the times they are unsuccessful streamers or people with issues in their lifes, so take it from who it came. So when you are in a row againts this type of people just take a break and you will feel a bit better. I'm sure that at some point this cheese way to play will be completely removed because its not healthy in any way.

Actually I would say most of the time it's relatively new killer players.

  • When a good blight gets a lot of pressure rolling like that it takes a good chase on the survivors part to get the game back in order. The goes for other killers, but obviously normal killer movements will be done at least twice as fast on blight. Chase - hook - chase - hook - back to previous hook ect. Truly the best way to figure out how to go against blight is to either play him or watch a streamer like LilithOmen (not otz for blight). Blight has the most varied amount of counter play out of any killer in this game, but that doesn't mean any of it is available at a given time. Although double speed blight is rough. Any tile you play when going against a blight you need to look at the outside and be able to understand what collision he has around the tile. Typically it's best to stay on the outside of a tile until you are certain you can get a hit on blight. Even without double speed blight can play shack like he did vs you, if you vault while he's at either door you are forced to take a medium back in and will get hit unless he is slow. Ideally you never let yourself get put into that position. So if you have enough distance to run away from the window as he comes around and you realize he doesn't have collision close enough (or at all) to get you before you make it safety somewhere else you go for it. Another big thing is counting rushes if he starts rushing near you, you can play completely differently if you know how many rushes he has left (2 seconds per token). I know I didn't' help much here, but a lot of my blight knowledge has been learned visually and doesn't come to mind as much as it is reactionary to survivor plays and different tiles.

A lot of people won't put in the effort to understand blight (which I understand) and can really never know how to play good vs him because of it. So I really would recommend going to watch Lilith. The only downside of watching him is that you might be expecting blights to play good, and take hits for it. That goes for all killers though.

  • I most definitely agree that stomping is boring. I'm truly lucky that my schedule allows me to play at the times I do so that I get matched better at the very least. I really want them to add an option next to cross play so that you can wait longer for better matches. My only worry with that is that survivors won't get that much better in chase, just bring stronger and stronger things. Which I wouldn't mind that much, but I would much prefer good chasers holding a flashlight.

  • Yeah not really sure how it felt balance wise, all I know is I mained hag as my first killer and that map was free.

  • Whatever is fastest after the game is effectively over.

But if someone wants to slug for the 4k, that's fine. Just as that last/last two survivor(s) is wasting the killers time, slugging for the 4k is the same thing.

  • My Blight would probably p70 by now If I could bring myself to spend points. But yeah, Blight.

Except that's absolutely not true. DH can be used in reaction if the killer has low ping. There are games where you will hit 100% of the time, and games where you will hit 0% of the time. I've noticed survivor streamers get the same results, usually if they miss the 1st dead hard you can tell that they won't hit it once for the whole game. Basically they made it the most inconsistent perk in the game, it's both the best or worst perk depending just on factors outside of your control.

Peanuts literally confirmed that dh has server side validation now. Which means if you have bad ping then dh doesn't function correctly. Just like blight.

  • It's intended. It's supposed to be a prediction perk not a reaction perk now. Although I feel the delay varies once in awhile which I can only contribute to latency diff.

  • I mean knight isn't op or anything. He's simply just the most boring killer to ever be designed. Every killer that's been released since I started playing is boring and the killer meta is boring, every map that's been released is survivor sided and thus boring because of the play style is promotes. It's all bad. Thank god there is a 10 second cap of holding w against me or this game would have died for me months ago.

  • Please rework the awful realm known as swamp. Looks awful, feels awful and is beyond dated. Although I know a lot of people like the elevation difference, but that really doesn't matter.

  • Everytime I play against huntress, but other than that no.

  • Auto dh was quite common before that hacker update back in (November I think?), I haven't seen it since though. It's way easier for blight to bait it then any other killer, it's like 1 in 1000 survivors who actually can resist pressing e on my first rush past them.

  • I've hard tunneled off hook like that only once since 6.1.0 at the very least. I was in a bad mood saw 4 med-kits, so I felt I could take alch ring. Then I saw the garden offering and the Felix got alch ringed out of the game, that's for sure.

  • Yeah I agree with rulebreaker

"Going after the most recently hooked survivor despite there being another equally viable target without attempting to chasing another."

Only 2 scenarios where I tunnel. Can't find the unhooker because they are hiding and I am not doing that well. Someone forcing bt/otr, that one gets under my skin.

  • It's been 100% killer at night on NA for months now.

The problem is that new DH tends to make weaker killers feel way worse and doesn't do much against stronger killers that can regain that distance instantly.

80% of the time it just makes me giggle on blight. Watching them dh in slam duration or rushing past and doing a 180 just to see them dab almost always gives me a laugh.

  • I hope I don't get banned for this, but the face portion of her model in game is disfigured. Hopefully they go back and make her model closer to her splash-art.

While I have no opinion on this post. Do you really believe anything will happen fast after they said they would be monitoring and changing the meta frequently? All of the sudden it's been over 7 months and nothing has changed except a than gutting. That's not fast, that's slower than anything but incompetency.

Ruin/Undying is a much better meta than Eruption/CoB/Overcharge.

Ruin did need a nerf but it didn't need to be cut in half. It's bad.

It really didn't need a nerf though. Survivors pretty much have totem locations figured out at this point due to boons and the only people getting value out of ruin/undying were blight and nurse. Even then pain res/dms was a better combo.

  • Yeah rotten is actually a pretty good map for survivors. There's not a single cold wind that's not neutral leaning into survivor sided.

Use adrenaline vile and blighted crow. Best addons for map traversal.

Best build - pain res, BBQ, lethal, and I use shadow born. If you aren’t going to be using his power for hits ( the most fun part ) then you could use something like agitation for QOL.

Wouldn't adrenaline vial be bad to start out on though? I think it would be better to learn basekit first. The build though is my standard.

  • Feng gets a skin every other patch because of how popular she is. It's not about their race, it's about what sells.

  • You know. I haven't been called a hacker in at least 6 months and I play blight. I watch lilith and some random will say a 90 was an indicator of hacking. I guess I don't run iri tag at all any more which is probably the most likely to get called a hacker.

Smolbob brought it up because y’all swear Nurse is broken/OP but her kill rate is the lowest in the game (Smolbob, 2023). And while she’s 1 of the 2 most popular killers at ‘high MMR’ her killrates there are in the negative (Smolbob, 2023). So she’s not broken (Smolbob, 2023). Had to cite my sources.

Taking me back to high school with that mta format vibe.

I know a lot of people despise alch ring which is fine, but man is it fun. Although adrenaline vial changes blights base kit significantly and is also fun once in a while.

What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. She performs evenly against players of equal skill level and knowledge against her, unbalanced maps not withstanding (giant/tiny maps, etc). She also has a negative kill rate at the highest levels of play.

Bro. That kill rate doesn't mean anything though. Even top 5% mmr killers can try to pick up nurse, play 3 bad games and never play again. She is the best killer in the game bar iri-tag alch ring blight on a good blight player, everyone knows this so why bring it up?

    Define 'sweating?'

Here's the thing. I see a lot of SWFs, especially if I play a late night session. There are generally 4 types.

    • Standard group. All running varied, generally strong perks. They want to win. Basically solo queue but they can coordinate and call you out.
    • Bully squad. They have a plan to make your life hell. Not necessarily trying to win, more to try and make killers DC. Often uses map specific exploits, like that spot on Ormond where you cannot pick anyone up.
    • Meme squad. Somewhere between standard group and bully squad. They can be a bit obnoxious - all the saves, bodyblocks, sabos, head-ons, etc.
    • Sweat squad. Come in with a plan to basically speedrun the game. The best items, perks, sometimes a map offering and unless you're running the most stacked Blight you can imagine, there's nothing you can do.

The problem is that you don't know which it'll be going in - so you'll prepare for the sweat squad. If it's not one then meh, flatten them.

If it is, then at least you have a chance.

And this is the mindset of that sweaty Nurse you just got slug 4k'd by.

I guess sweat squad would be what I am talking about.

My Blight build is always lethal, shadowborne, bbq and pain res. Well actually sometimes pain res gets switched out for something random. Generally though, with that build I will destroy most sweat squads if I am not rusty. Believe it or not, on top of most players not being good at this game players also really don't know how to play vs blight well. Blight has the most varied counterplay in the game, not to say he has counterplay more often than someone like bubba. It's just you have to go out of your way to learn it and then apply it in game, 99.5% of players won't do that in dbd. I play at 12AM-4AM because that's where I have found the best survivors consistently. Half the time though, they aren't actually that much better, just running better stuff. If I was actually preparing every game for sweat squads then I wouldn't be running shadowborne and I would be running alch ring/c33/iri tag every game. I've actually gone out of my way to break my addiction to green speed recently, running double slam duration and vigos. Although I did get 4 man outed on rotten fields recently, that's probably because a bad rng rotten fields is the hardest map for blight though. There are definitely some very efficient teams every once in a great while that I would need some better add-ons to deal with.

Although I love getting bully squads, because I know when they start killing themselves on hook it's because they are not good enough to go against my blight and simply wanted that scratched mirror myers on coldwind.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg7UlBO7S2g

This was pre 6.1.0. that's why I was running dms as well. I was super done with survivors at the time. But that is most definitely what a bully squad looks like. It was kinda sad because the Dwight was the best survivor I had seen in months at the time.

There's only 2 things that make me alt+f4 after a game. Someone DC's or kills themselves and flattening survivors that are bad, it's just boring for me. Even though Alch ring is the most fun I can have in this game, I stopped running it because survivors won't deal with it after 6.1.0. for the most part.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3324858#Comment_3324858

I suggested something like this way back when - making it work like LoL or HOTS.

Basically - play in an SWF, you get an inflated MMR, proportional to the size of the group, via a multiplier (say 1.2x MMR for both of you playing in a duo, up to 1.7x in a 4man). The devs responded and basically said that they'd tested something similar and it wasn't working right.

Because 85% of swfs (just a guess) aren't really sweating. I guess it's better for those swfs who aren't sweating to go against a nurse main or me than a 4 man solo even if those solos are good players.

  • Except we all know nurse is the best killer in dbd bar maybe alch-ring and iri-tag blight after the nurse changes. Regardless of what the people on the forums tell you, nurse is a skill issue for the killer bar a few maps. Nurse takes maybe 20 games until you get the muscle memory down and that's if you are untalented at video games. What's left is reading survivors and many other killers also do that. The simple answer is, people who play dbd are generally bad.

It would surprise me, Sluzzy at least made me chuckle sometimes.

Like I always laugh at people on the forum when killer mains say "survivors just want killer to be nerfed until it's free 4 man outs" but audiophile actually does want that. Proof hours don't matter when people like this exist.

  • @StarLost said:

    Oh brother, this guy again.

If I sound annoyed, it's because this is someone who legitimately wants survivors to escape every game and will literally complain about any killer perk, any killer power, any killer strategy that lets them win. It's like the second coming of Sluzzy, but without the self parody.

But whatever. Here we go again!

Nowhere to Hide, Awakened Awareness, Darkness Revealed, BBQ, Floods of Rage, Lethal Pursuer, Face the Darkness, Bitter Murmur, Discordance…. Then thrown in the various uses of Killer Instinct and aura addons…

    Distortion.

NTH - don't try and hang around gens?

Darkness revealed - don't linger near lockers?

BBQ - barely anyone gets much use of this anymore.

Floods of Rage and LP - Loop better.

Bitter Murmur...that's like killers complaining about Dark Sense.

Discordance - How are you being steath while also slamming out gens?

Survivors are SOL if they want to try to play stealthy. And it’s not just that… it’s the fact that you can’t hang out near downs to try for a save because of AA plus Starstruck or Mad Grit.

No, you can play stealthy. But you cannot have complete stealth and also be able to slam out gens and also be able to see the killer at all times.

    Nobody uses AA anymore.

Are we...actually seriously complaining about Mad Grit?

Also - I'm absolutely astonished that you've managed to find a killer who can run about eight perks simultaneously.

ou can’t leave a gen and remain in the area to mitigate Call of Brine, et al. because of NTH. You’re seen when they hook, you’re seen when you unhook, you’re seen when you finish a gen… randomly, working with others… it’s pointless to even try to be stealthy.

Okay, it's mindblowing that you're even moaning about this.

Firstly, it appears we've got our eight perk killer yet again - but here's the thing.

    • There are multiple ways to never get AFK crows while remaining hidden.
    • You have options to help you stealth.
    • SWF can call a killer out no matter where they are, or use perks like Fogwise to have complete, 100% uptime vision of the killer wherever they are. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

All we have left is running and pushing gens which is harder since the meta-break update.

    Hah.

    Ahahaha.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ABGD6S32UADJ/image.png

    Okay, what?

You can loop. You can play in a team.

You can hide. You can *work as a team*.

You can try to burn out the gens. You can run boons. You can run healing builds. You can run protection builds.

There are so many things survivors can do that...yeah, this next bit made my head explode.

And killers get annoyed that we run 2nd chance perks and gen rush builds. ######### are we supposed to do?

You're complaining about Mad Grit and Bitter Murmur.

    Mad Grit.

    And Bitter Murmur.

The irony and lack of any sort of self awareness here is...actually legit impressive.

It seems clear that the prevalence of these aura perks is to make it SO easy for killers to find survivors that they don’t camp.

No, these are to allow increased interaction between survivors and killers rather than having every match taking 40 minutes because someone is using the exploit to avoid AFK crows.

Camping is neither here nor there. But I can promise you - if you got your way and killers had zero aura reading or information perks, no gen regression perks, no lethality perks and...well, probably no perks at all - since you literally consider *Mad Grit* of all things to be overpowered, you'd see a hell of a lot more camping.

But of course they still do that anyway.

    Who is...they, exactly?

If we're going to judge all killers by the person who camped you in your last game, then I'm judging the hell out of you for the hacking team I just played against.

    Fair?

Do you guys really think it’s fair and balanced to have extreme mobility killers like Nurse, Blight, Oni, Spirit and other strong mobility killers like Dredge, Wraith, Freddy, Sadako… easily find survivors and also one hit them?

Are you...playing against a lot of hackers or something? Because I'd love to know how Spirit, Dredge, Wraith, Freddy, Sadako, Blight or Nurse is one shotting anyone. The only killer on there that can instadown is Oni.

And vs solo teams predominantly of course…

Citation required. The last stat we had on this was that around 50% of survivors play in SWFs.

And then while dealing with all of this we still get slugged and left to bleed out by killers who just want to play like jerks.

I thought you were being camped? While being instantly found and one shot by a Dredge?

Yes, bleedouts are obnoxious. They are also at the very least on the dev's radar. So you're...kind of crying about something that is already going to be fixed in some fashion, I'd guess this year.

I realize there are some decent, sportsmanlike killers out there but on a good day… that’s still maybe 20%.

You...mean the ones that play a perkless Trapper that just lets everyone go at 2 hooks?

Because I've seen literally 1 bleedout player in just under 500 survivor games.

I have, on the other hand, seen at least 30 instances of a survivor abusing the 'gains' exploit to never get AFK crows in order to take a match hostage in the last 500 killer games.

THIS is a large part of why you have DC issues.

    WHAT!?

No...seriously, so...a killer runs an aura reading perk which makes survivors everywhere automatically DC?

I think my brains are coming out of my ears.

If you feel like you NEED to run OP killers with aura / one hit, etc to win because survivors are so strong, you’re just not a good killer yet.

I've been running Distortion a lot recently and...I can't recall the last time I didn't get value out of it.

The only thing to remember - a Mirror Myers is actually one of the few killers that can eat through it too fast for it to be especially useful.

    Still an excellent perk though.

    Bingo.

I'm also finding more survivors who will quickly figure out that I'm running NTH and will immediately adjust their playstyle and just move a ways away, then come back to tap the gen once I've kicked it.

The reason I'm trying to use Distortion less is that...I swear, this perk is basically free wins. Multiple games today where I've been chased literally twice all game and wound up getting hatch or gate at the end because everyone died.

I'm pumping my survivor MMR up while not getting any better at looping - which is where I'm weakest.

He is literally sluzzy 2.0. Might even be sluzzys alt
