  • Guys, when people say anti-loop, they don't mean as a whole but hard anti-loop like knight and artist that makes tiles a moot point. Wesker for example can use his power at loops but it doesn't nullify the tile from existence.

I agree with you op. Only thing fun about survivor is chases and killers that deny the most skill expressive part of survivor should not exist.

  • Yep they basically made it so it's whoever the server see's either connected their hit or pressed e. Previously it would go off what the survivors client saw first, making laggy dh's disturbingly good.

  • She was my first main, but CoH ruins her.

may be due Blight being extremelly unfun to play against especially with his dumb set of addons making him boosted to levels of non sense, and for whatever reason those are still in the game wich ofc are used by every blight 6 out of 10 matches i see alchemist ring the 4 remaining double speed wich is close in levels of boosted especially because he hits TROUGH stuff, is like a truck the hitbox he has, is omega dumb, he oftenly doesnt touch u BUT EY i still hit u at loops because whatever, so fun. Blight is dumb and i can understand why they leave, i usually dont mind much when blight is not using double speed or vial with speed or alchemist ring with compoud 33, is just dumb. on top of that the classic mac millan offering map because on top of the S tier easy mode they play with they also need the easy map...is like most blights had the small pp energy on them (or maybe they do have small pp who knows), is quite funny actually.

I mean his hitboxs are fine. He has a extremely short and wide hit box for the first tiny bit of his lethal rush attack phase and then it's nearly a normal m1 hitbox after that. If he didn't have that wide hitbox at the beginning it would be devastatingly easy to dodge lethal rushes, especially when factoring in ping since blights power is tied directly to the server validation.

I mean, i understand why people dislike it. Especially if you play a killer that the perk counters hard like Demo and Huntress like you said.

But i am annoyed how bhvr keeps making killers that are boring and don't offer interaction or skill for either side, basically creating situations where the survivor is useless or the killer is useless because the survivor just went to the other side of the map.

Honestly seeing killer like those that create check mate situations just makes me glad DH is in the game.

Does it suck for everyone else, sure.

But i have accepted that Knight and other dumb BS is in the game and won't change or get buffed. So i don't feel DH being BS is all that different. If the game continues to give powers with free hits, then a 3rd health state that you need to time seems only fair.

Again, i know that this is not true for all killers or even most killers.

What other powers give free hits like that besides knight and artist? Skull merchant might make you leave the loop but you just take the hit and now you are playing vs an m1 character with a gimmick, it's nearly another legion in a way. I don't really think 2 killers existing is a valid reason for the dh neck sniff to still be in the game at this point.

  • I mean not really. I don't have fun playing against knight due to a lack of skill expression on either side. I don't have fun always having to bait out dh, which isn't really too hard. I dislike both for different reasons. It was funny brushing past survivors while rushing only to turn around and watch them dab and panic for a few months after the rework, but now it's just monotonous again.

Demo players want to shred at max range again, huntress players would rather not go against perma 3rd health states above 10M. You gotta understand why so many people hate this perk.

Kinda funny I just watched A demo shred dh compilation before reading this post.

  • Bruh, people don't realize survivors should have had this info in the first place.

  • I've been every elo up to masters over the last 10 years in league and dbd is definitely more toxic than league at least right now. The most toxic thing people do in league is one bot lane ints every game. Back in S3/S4 of league It was probably more toxic, but unlike dbd, league actually punishes people for bad behavior. Chat bans got even more fearsome this season and consistently being reported will get you suspended until an eventual ban if the behavior continues. In this game all we got is a chat filter, everything else is fair game.

Yeah, i tunnel sometimes when needed (and get tunneled quite a bit too), but i think this could be a way to change the annoying "Wait until the surv uses DH" feeling when playing killer. In this new form, you would be expecting a DH when chasing a surv if you go after a hook, and tunneled survs could have Exaustion + DH + OTR + DS/another perk as build option

It's a good change. I'm not a fan of playing around dh every chase either.

  • I'd be fine with it, but I don't really tunnel. Although one of the current meta builds is DH, DS and OTR which is essentially accomplishes the same thing, although ds could be omitted in your version.

  • I mean, I never dodge unless I actually need to get up from my pc. 4 med-kits or whatever else just gives me a reason to run alch-ring, I can be guilt free about it in a lobby like that.

  • What Nazzzak said.

  • Nope. Michael is awful base-kit but a couple add-ons make him really good. Blight is perfect base-kit but a few add-ons make him op.

  • I mean, no killer is that hard in this game to learn at the very least. Nurse has the highest skill floor but even she wasn't that hard to learn. Compared to blight though spirit doesn't have a skill ceiling.

"What sort of mentality is that?"

The mentality of not having a mechanic that is not intended on purpose, especially on one of the strongest killers in the game. asking for it to be removed, which will happen sooner or later as confirmed by the developers themselves, is entirely legitimate because it is abused by 90% of the players.

You basically said, remove it because 90% of players abuse it. You didn't really state a point other than the devs said this and that nearly a year ago so it should be removed.

Like I have said previously. The hug tech from an efficiency point of view, is only good at mitigating rushes during map traversal and attempted use of his power at tiles that have nearly no bump logic around either all or one side of a them. The hug tech is over rated by this community and the biggest strength it has in terms of lethality is due to a lack of understanding about blight and an inability to process collision around tiles on the survivor side. Also a majority of hug tech style lethal rushes end in a flick and blight flicks are relatively easy to dodge compared to most skill shot based attacks in this game. But most players will sit on the opposite end of a tile for the full 2 second hug tech just to start holding W around the tile in normal pathing last second. A well timed wiggle vs a long range flick is just too easy if you have the gist of survivor movement.

If you want to argue that mitigating rushes is too over tuned go for it, but maybe start with that instead of just repeating that one dev comment.

  • I don't have fun when the killer stands in the corner as survivor. Same goes for the other side. If I wanted the difficulty of playing the game in a 3v1 from 45 seconds in then wouldn't I just play bots?

  • I was so hopeful that the devs understood what a large amount of killers have fun with after weskers release. Then they actually released knight and now skull merchant. People like high intensity chases where they feel they can be outplayed and outplay their opponent. Having to hold w and maybe get hit before the next tile depending on map rng, and then repeat until the game is over isn't fun.

  • It's just a bit annoying to play around constantly. To me they should gut it due to the sheer longevity of it's strength over the duration of this games life span.

  • I already hate when survivors unhook then hide. This is a same scenario but it's incentivized by a perk now.

  • Not to regurgitate Lilith here but, everything on PC Blight can be done by a console Blight. If his flicks looks near normal other than the linear horizontal movement on controller, compared to his 6k dpi mouse It shouldn't be that much of an issue.

  • @Beatricks said:

In my experience, often a survivor will bring a very strong map because they had an incredibly frustrating gaming session and they need all the advantage they can get to have a decent match. So if someone has been tunneled six games in a row, they'll be far more likely to ragequit if they are the first one to be found even when they go out of their way to rig the odds. I know the default state on this forum is that every single survivor is an evil, misery spreading jerk who thrives on annoying you to no end, but they are just humans like everyone else here.

That being said, I of course don't condone such behavior, it ruins the fun for other people, I'm merely stating that I can understand their state of mind and motivations behind their actions.

I see this argument often and while I understand it to a degree, most of the dcs like this will happen before tunneling is even able to officially begin. I'll eat your map offering without tunneling you, the least you can do is make the game somewhat interesting for everyone in the game including me as the killer.

Unless you actually took a swamp offering. Then... we might have some grievances to attend to...

  • More like Knights still pretty lame. How could they give such a cool concept and killer design that kit? Nothing gets me like teal(albeit a light version of it) with undead involved, then they just made the killer boring by design. It's funny, for the longest time walking at people in video games while being too far ahead for them to do anything about it was my favorite(league), but a combination of dbd in general and leagues meta has turned that opinion around quite a bit. Something like Knight is boring for both sides and creates lose/lose unskillful situations that shouldn't even be put into concept at this stage of dbds life span. It's why blight at his core is a fix to the games flawed design, take is from someone who has always hated large amounts of mobility designated to a single character in a video game.

  • Isn't this Otz law

  • Don't worry about a report, you'll be fine. Although that's crazy both of you could get stuck.

  • Killer is more fun than survivor for me, or at least it should be. But the last few months have really been boring for me. Improving is my goal in most games I play including dbd, but most dbd players do not have that same goal or are simply bad in general at games. It's hard to improve when finding a really good player in this game is 1/50 games.

But setting it up out of the way also reduces CoH's efficiency. What's the use of shaving off 4 seconds of healing time if it takes you 6 seconds to get there?

CoH still needs to be somewhat close to the action, otherwise it risks losing its benefits.

But nearly every map has some totem that covers a wide area and is hard to access for the killer. Also are you just assuming every survivor has a med-kit or is next to another survivor to heal them? What makes CoH crazy is that 4 people have an infinite source of healing that everyone can use at once. In solo, you don't need to run around looking for teammates. In a swf it just lets you reset faster as a team. Quite a few maps have hard to reach places in the center of the action such as: Ironworks, Thompson house, rpd, badham, Garden and Eyrie just to name a few

  • If they are all mostly safe pallets than it's just as boring as being camped for most killers.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3344446#Comment_3344446

That's not true at all. As others have mentioned, you can lose games from survivors wasting time setting up a boon.

If the killer snuffs CoH before a survivor can get a heal out of it, that's a major dent in the survivors' efficiency.

I said decent spot. If the killer has to go into a dead zone, walk to the top of ironworks or anything like that it's inefficient. If you are setting up boons next to an unfinished gen, what was the point.

  • CoH - hard meta

Exponential - this perk is downplayed so hard. It can solo carry games by itself and puts killers in a unwinnable situation when used by competent players in the right spot.

Shadow step - pairs with any other boon, can give you free escapes once in a while.

Dark theory - It's meh, yeah.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/364496/opinion-on-boon-perks

CoH loses part of its benefit if it's too out of the way though. What use is shaving 4 seconds off healing time if you have to spend 6 seconds getting into its range? At that point, healing on the spot would be faster.

I don't think CoH is as big of a deal as people are making it out to be, and it's frustrating that the most common take on it is to just nuke all boons from the game forever when only one boon actually sees regular use.

The issue is that there is no counterplay to boons on the killer side. If put in a even decent spot, it will always more efficient overall for survivors to have that boon down. CoH wouldn't have had to be nerfed to 50% if there was any downside to just booning every time the killer goes out of their way to snuff it.

  • Lmao why do people always gotta make it about tunneling and camping. Yeah, I don't do either because I find it boring as well. I want to get the full experience of each survivor I chase from full health, because maybe I'll actually go against a really good survivor.

To each their own. I think it's one of the most powerful add-ons in the game, period. It takes some getting used to, for sure. But if you learn it? It's stupid how strong it can be. I've talked to other Blight players and even they agree.

I just don't see how It could compare to alch ring, iri tag and c33 in anyway.

  • @Entitled_survivor said:

The problem with blight is he has too many good addons while having a really strong basekit,,hopefully when they eventually decide to give him an addon pass he doesn't get the spirit treatment,,i'd like to see alchemist ring but mostly C33 thrown under a buss and buried into an unmarked grave

I used c33 for the first time in months a couple weeks ago, it just doesn't feel fair. Losing 0 distance for breaking a pallet point blank is just wack.

Title (accidently hit enter which sent this post, so Im having to edit it).

Everyone is pretty much overreacting over the Eruption nerf.

Dont get me wrong, I hated Eruption, I think it got nerfed a bit too much, but like Ive seen several posts of "they will gut all of the Killer perks and we wont have anything in 2 weeks" or some dumb stuff... calm down... I think BHVR is pretty disconnected from their community but it's not that bad.

I do think people are overreacting but there is genuinely 2 good killer regression perks now. I guess that's how it was with pop and ruin before though.

  • Blights add-ons do need a pass and by that I mean ring and c33. But genuinely adrenaline vial is overrated. It makes blight map dependent. It's a pure bump logic add-on with nearly no room for error while in rush. It makes some tiles reliant on the hug tech as well. But at the same time it has double recharge and plus 2 rushes, so it's forgiving in that way. If you wonder why I said what I said it is because it makes flicks way more risky than they already are. The only time I think the add-on is busted is when paired with c33.

I still can't get over the fact that a few twigs or tiny bushes can stop 200 lbs 6 ft man with a chainsaw. My man should be able to walk through like it's nothing but apparently the bushes in DBD are maid of steel or something. I'm also still in awe how you can bump into things that are outside your FOV even with Shadowborn. Garden of Pain is one of the worst offenders in that regard.

Believe it or not, they changed the garden bushes in someway a couple months back. Blight can hug them now, where before he couldn't play the game within a 2-mile radius of the bushes.

  • @Deathstroke said:

I will keep playing Oni even he is weakest m1 killer. But I do hope buffs for m1 killers would make that first hit easier agains't good survivors. Everyone can play killer they want.

Only thing stopping me from playing oni is the comp drop mentality vs him.

  • As a blight main I would still never run this perk. It's a waste of time to kick gens on blight when I could be in chase by the time the animation is over. Floods of rage, bbq and lethal are all singularly better info perks on blight. If I were to start kicking gens for info, it would be that knight perk.

  • @supersonic853 said:

With how strong the gen regression meta and some killers are. I feel ive reached a mmr where just simple meme builds i don't probably have the overall skill (skill diff i know lol) to make use of something like 3 aura reveals+shadowborne to stop gens from popping. (I have to run shadowborne as a motion sick player) should i just tank the losses until my mmr gets to the point where i can play memey? Or should i keep up with running the meta as it actually gives me a fighting chance in the upper mmr? Im also not one to tunnel or camp to bring a match back. So what do you think? I know its ultimately up to me but i like another opinion.

It's what ever is more fun for you. If you like to compete with those people running meta build and who are probably more skillful start adding a couple slowdowns to your build. You don't even have to full commit just pain res might help you on it's own. If you really like doing the memey nice guy playstyles, stick with it.

Ok it will virtually do nothing so just get rid of it so it's all the same isn't it?

So take out something fun even though it doesn't do that much for what reason though? Lets remove spinning as survivor because it really doesn't do anything anyway. What sort of mentality is that? It's way more fun to hug tech than just pure bump logic. The only thing the hug tech really does is mitigate rushes which is impactful don't get me wrong, but in chase it's just wasted time on a non guaranteed hit. Actually rotten fields would be hard without it so there's that.

  • @hiken said:

killers with great movility, Nurse, Blight, Oni, Artist, Billy, and many others because 10 secodns is a long time is literally gonna give certain killers way more power than they already have... should be cut at least in half, and 5 seconds would still be strong aura reading. the rest is fine as a nerf but 10 seconds for nurses and blight... god forvid if they are way too annoying now imagine with that.

You say that like it's worth taking the time to kick gens for that value now. I'll continue running lethal and bbq on blight, this changes nothing.

Do people actually believe the “sprint burst is actually better” argument? Do people really think survivors, out of the goodness of their hearts, are purposely avoiding sprint burst because they want to provide a more fun experience for the killer? Sprint Burst doesn’t even provide constant value across killers either. LoL if you try sprint burst against blight, and even wraith would just cloak and quickly close the distance. Sprint burst is not the survivors “best kept secret”, it’s trash compared to the current dead hard.

Nah. I have come to the conclusion that SP is way better vs blight than dh. It's just too easy to bait dh if there is any collision nearby. Sure if they force you to flick for the hit, you eat the dh but that flick was already dodge able. A 99'd sprint burst can get a few rushs in-between you and the blight, which is massive if used when he's 2 rushes in already. Plus if blight players really get hit by dh often, just run alch ring.

  • The issue with DH is that it creates this baiting out dh until you see another exhaustion perk bit that gets stale like Xendritch said.

I come from league so things getting gutted for the sake of not being useable or meta is a thing and it has kept the game going and growing for a decade. I really don't mind dh that much but I really think is should just be gutted for the sake of it.

  • @ProHillbillyMain said:

I hope they do nerf his addons, vial is busted af, the token recharge should not exist, alchemist ring, c33, tag.

I get it, the devs didn't think this killer would be that strong so they added bunch of no brain addons to the killer but times have changed and people learned how to play this killer.

Oh so we are going to talk about the one side of this exploit that has counterplay I see, I see.

Lets definitely not talk about how it is being used on tiles to use less rushes, getting around loop faster and then using bump logic.

Naaaah lets just talk about 1 hug tech rush and then trying to hit someone on pallet.

    Cringe bug exploiting kid. :)

I just wonder why do the mods even allow you to have an exploit in your name, that's just so weird to me.

^ What maining such a clunky killer does to a guy.

  • I don't even think it's possible to make blight feel as clunky as Billy. Most add-ons really don't need changes either, summoning stone and vigos are super fine for purples. It's a maybe depending on fluidity of the character.

  • I only play killer at a certain time to play against good survivors. Goes both ways I guess.

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 47
