You're right but it goes to show that hope is not immediately lost.

He has several games in the last week or so that are better but I can't be bothered to spoon feed. He can go find them.

Yeah your right, I think I took your comment the wrong way while I was tired. Sorry about that.

    Cheers mate!

They were running Rose Tonic with something else--I can't remember atm

I used to play Survivor about 60% of the time. It's more like 90% these days, because Killer just doesn't really excited me. I can't imagine I've played more than 3-4 hours of Blight, and most of that time was spent running his impossible skill check build. Never learned to J Flick, Hug Tech, Moonrush, etc. so I really don't know what's going on in the mind of a top tier Blight.

That makes sense that he was running rose tonic since he was going for flicks all the time. You may not know this but slam duration add-ons actually have an effect on the speed at which you move during slam duration, so the time it takes to get in place for a hug tech is much faster.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

I just played against a decent Blight.

They weren't the BEST but they were definitely above average.

My first chase was 2.5 minutes, so if you can learn from any of these clips, you'll become a huge help to your team.

    https://streamable.com/r6k3o6

First 20s of this clip are pretty routine--just pathing in a way that extends the loop but still allows me to make it back to pallet. End of the clip shows my decision making as Blight hug techs the car. Not having LOS on Blight as he begun his rush, I decided moving away from the car was my safest option.

    https://streamable.com/v8bykr

This second clip is where Blights routinely throw away their pressure in chase. Rather than following me around the loop and forcing me to throw pallet, Blight blocks pallet while waiting for his rush tokens to regen. At this point, I am in full control of the chase, because I know exactly what Blight is going to do next.

    https://streamable.com/8l1193

Eventually I drop pallet, and I find myself in a risky situation. I know Blight will expect me to doubleback over pallet, but it's pretty obvious I'll go down trying, so I just keep running. Fortunately for me, Blight's rush autolocks to the pallet. Without his POV, I can't really say whether I was just lucky, or I outplayed him.

    https://streamable.com/i5o50a

Blight tries to set up another hug tech on this car. Because of the tree and tire, I know that he is setting up to come from my left. I egg him on a little bit, so he commits to that play, then rotate around as he goes for the lunge.

    https://streamable.com/1vay2c

As soon as I hear Blight rush here, I know I'm dead in the water, so I turn back around to bodyblock his rush then I use the tires as LOS blockers as I make distance. I weave back and forth, as I gauge which side of the tires he is going to emerge from. It seems he didn't hear me leave, because he hug techs the tires and I get nice distance away.

Hopefully these clips and my commentary can offer a bit of insight.

No one escaped this trial, thanks in part to the d/c, but because we got a chance to break Blight's ankles it was way more fun most of my other games.

If anything I think your pathing in the first clip was excellent, 99% of people would have hugged that truck loop until they died or the pallet broke. The end of the clip having you move away from the loop as you deemed he would go for the hug tech based on how long he didn't bump was also well done.

As this blight seemed to be going for flicks most of the time, the other clips are examples on how to deal with the hug tech.

I'd like to know what add-ons the blight was running if you remember.

Also I don't remember which side you main and if you would tell, do you play blight much?

I feel like blight has this stigma around him of him being unbeatable when he try hards. It's like the seal team six thing on killers side. People aren't going up against these amazing blights very often and neither are killer players going up against these cracked out 4 man swf god squads.

Here's a new video with true playing against a Blight.

You won't be able to loop against a Blight like this though unless you understand the limits of the killer.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGwWKJldywk

True didn't do anything special in the blight matchup and blight was sub par based on the entirety of the first chase. What's the point of this? That blight was wasting so many rushes. Starting rushes before it was good on Lery's. Not waiting out easy dh in slam or bumping one more time when true wasn't ready for it.

True was literally just holding w and breaking LoS and the blight was too meh to do anything about it. Yeah for sure that Blight was at the same level I was a month into the killer. I can't deny that breaking LoS and making distance on Lery's is decent vs blight but he literally did nothing special in terms of playing vs blight. Seemed like playing vs Nurse game play and was rewarded for it because the blight was only decent.

  • I cannot verify what I am about to say.

Blights power is directly tied to the server, the more laggy either the blight or the survivor involved is, the more likely it is to miss or quite literally send you to Narnia.

I am willing to bet Weskers power works in the same way. If that's the case then I am willing to bet the server(most likely) or you were experiencing issues as well.

Again I could be wrong about Weskers power also being tied to the server, with the other clips I have seen I would doubt just him would result in clips like this.

I am not defending anything, just my opinion.

  • It seems to be how the kit is designed and how much effort is put into the killers add-ons themselves, because I believe that the kit comes first followed by the add-ons. You have things like Blight which can actually have a wide range of add-ons that flow correctly with his kit. But also as Trollinmon said, the only reason I can think of for c33 and alch ring to exist is to allow him to combat the best players running the best things on the others side. It's also why I think nurse didn't receive a full rework. But honestly if you are going to have any killer be balanced with those ideas in mind, it should be blight. Nurse simply doesn't belong in the game and as much as players want to believe she has decent counter play, she really doesn't when compared to blight.

But the fact that something like Nemesis was added to the game with those add-ons is quite baffling. Jill's sandwich plus iri star is probably one of his best add-ons sets along with maybe double zombie movement speed? I used to think zombie aggro range for info was really good after marvins blood was nerfed before I dropped the killer. But none of those add-ons really impact him too much or change his power in any way.

Compare serotonin injector to vigos or Jill's sandwich to c21, even adrenaline vial to marvins blood. It's just laughable. People complain about blights add-ons but his add-ons change how he plays quite a bit, especially adrenaline vial. C33 and alch ring are op but minus those, every other killers add-ons should strive to match Blights in how diverse and meaningful they are.

We don't talk about c7, Monocle or placebo though.

  • Point is to just delete most of the meta for both sides. PR is the only gen regression I have used in a long time but I won't bat an eye if both meta's deleted. This game gets boring when I see the same perks every single game.

Props to the 6 year long vets who played against the same meta that entire time, I have no idea how you managed to not get bored.

  • Nope. I don't care what's done about tunneling obviously because I am a blight main. But if I had to play survivor against a clown that was so stat-stick buffed he was A tier I would not be happy. Many other killers would simply just be atrocious to play against if they could 12 hook against similar skill level players without tunneling.

I consider not getting seen by the killer because my Distortion saved me to be an absolute win.

Well the macro in this game isn't that crazy and chase is probably the only real skillful thing on survivor. So If I get out because the killer couldn't follow me through 4 LoS breakers and lucky break over come I wouldn't feel anything. It's why I hate gen kick meta, commit and kill me not hit me and kick gen. I want to improve at chase not have my skill suffer due to these perks on both sides.

  • I mean yeah shadow borne is boring but so are many perks by that standard. Lucky break, shadowstep and distortion all deny/end potential chases which is just not fun for either side by my standard. If you happen to get away due to any of these perks then the chase is just over, neither party won.

  • I am really addicted to green speed but I go through many variations of add-ons when I play blight.

If we're comparing old DH to new DH the new one is actually worse for killers because it gives more distance.

Add on to that the hit negation which is clearly very triggering for killers because they feel that they're getting robbed of a hit on top of losing distance.

The only drawback with new DH is the timing is probably something like a 15% chance against a competent killer (unless you're on a pallet), whereas old DH if played right always had value unless you're in a dead zone.

I think bringing it back would be better for both sides.

Old DH was 100x more fun for survivors because there are so many ways to implement it for mind games outside of the intended use of dodging a hit. IMO it was less frustrating to deal with as killer too because you didn't have to deal with extra health states

Orrrr gut the perk since waiting out dh regardless of how easy it is is simply poor perk design? Not a single person wants to just stand there until the survivor inevitably presses e and then downs them. It's boring to do 6-12 times a game.

Both old and new dh have the wait it out counter play while old dh also could get you to safety. Both variations are simply boring. I get it, it feels good to get off as a survivor when it happens but it's just so tedious. Watch any streamer play against it and look at how flat their expression and voice is when the say dead hard before it even happens.

Again from a balance perspective I really don't think it's op, but I get more fun playing around knight than playing around dh everygame and that's saying a lot.

The more experienced killers are simply tired of the perk after so long and the new killers or bad killers simply don't know how to play around it yet. Bad design.

Oh boy another one of these posts... here we go... 🤣 Let's dissect this post starting withhhhh...

"So many of you are complaining about how difficult Survivor is going to be once PTB is pushed to live servers, when you are the reason Survivor is so difficult."

Uhh... how can you judge the survivor base as a whole and accuse them of never doing generators. Not everyone is a lazy teammate, some of us actually try hard to succeed. Just like not all killers are facecamping and tunneling. Very popular YouTubers and streamers complained HEAVILY about the PTB, dedicating videos to complaining about it, are they all lazy do-nothings too?

"You've no right to complain about how hard the game is when you continue to choose the least efficient strategies. Many of you knowingly do this, because "holding M1 is boring, and I refuse to sit on a gen all game."

First of all, everyone has the right to complain, that's what the forums are there for, discussing what's right and wrong with the game. Second of all, no one has the right to complain, but here you are complaining about people complaining. You're part of the complaining. 😂 Lastly, once again, you don't know that many of us do it because you don't know many of us, you don't know how we play so how can you say many of us do it when you don't even know?

"In games that I don't escape, there are often spans of 3-5 minutes where I am the only one to touch a generator."

Notice throughout your whole post, you never named one thing that you do wrong but you're here telling all of us about what we, who dislike things about the PTB because it is FAR from perfect, apparently all do wrong, because you 100% know every single person who complained about the PTB.

"This game cannot be balanced around people who are not playing to win."

Well guess what, not everyone's always trying to win. Me and, probably a few other players too, don't always care about sweating our behinds off, against killers who are also trying to sweat their behinds off trying to get a 4k every match, just to escape and get the extra 7k points. Escaping isn't winning, winning isn't everything, and to me, winning is having a good time with your matches. That being said, I purchased the game with my money, so I can play it however I want. I love casual games and don't always want to win, some matches I just go in wanting to learn the map better, or just to test out some new perks (This was obviously before the bot matches were implemented). In the end, it's ultimately up to the devs what changes go into the game and what changes don't so we can't all be blamed for what changes, particularly ones you don't like.

    Biology class over~ 😌

Ok but that's the issue. There's players not even "sweating" just playing to win, and then there's players who play for fun and not to win. If you want to troll around and not contribute to the objective, yes that's within your power and fine. But with you doing that, it feels like my skill is meaningless. When fun for you is testing your skill against your opponent and seeing the results of your improvement, it feels awful when other players ruin it for you.

On survivor I am not comp dropping every pallet and running full meta builds with a stacked med-kit every game. On killer I will play blight, but I am not going to run his top add-ons and I will not tunnel unless a survivor body blocks me. I am playing to win, but I am not sweating.

Also you are creating things the op said that are far out of reason. They didn't say everyone doesn't have a right to complain or that every survivor is trolling. They said it's not your fault if you lose if your teamates are not playing to win and you can't complain about losing if you are not playing to win. You are just stuffing words into their mouth.

I guess there does need to be a ranked queue when people have this mentality.

  • @Veroles said:

I personally do really enjoy the concept of blight. The idea of it that a killer is able to bounce like a freak against objects is pretty funny to be honest. Nevertheless when you compare blight with other killers, it is absolute ridiculous that almost all addons of this killer have massive strength compared with other killers.

I also have no doubts, that it needs hundreds of hours to get blights true potential. But on the other site i have my struggle to see it as "full acceptable", that when you master this killer perfect all the time that you are always allowed to stomp nearly every lobby. Not sure if that is really something what should be able in a game like this and also that PC users seem to have a massive advantage.

When i play solo queue for example and i get matched against a cracked blight, i can not take this round very serious anyway because that simply does not feel like a real match.

Nevertheless i can understand, that there should be something, what makes very experienced and good coordinated SWF's struggling, otherwise they wouldn't have any challenge anymore.

Not a single person has reached Blights full potential. Not even close.

On the other hand 99% of survivors don't know how to deal with blight. Even comp players don't know quite a bit of the intricate counter play.

The only thing that makes solo seem unplayable vs blight is how common his few busted add-ons are.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

The best advice I can give you is to play against more good Blights.

Unfortunately, that isn't exactly in your control, so if you'd like some pointers just lmk and I'd be happy to provide.

Of personal note, Blight is hands down my favorite killer to play against, and I exclusively solo queue these days.

It wasn't always that way, however, as I had to endure a ton of games against Ascension (and others just as talented), at the height of Blight's popularity. On PC-only servers, I was probably seeing Blight in 80% of my games for a full 3 months. It was brutal--every game was a sweatfest.

I'm really glad I came out the other end of it though, because while Blight is regarded as one of the best killers in the game, I find him to be the easiest to counter. He is extremely predictable, and Blight mains are relentless in their pursuit of lethal rushes.

I'll leave you with two tips, as I have videos on-hand to demonstrate the concepts.

    1) If Blight catches you in a deadzone, you want to double back on him as soon as he starts his rush. Take note of where he is going, what he'll bounce off of, and whether or not you have an object you can put between you two. If you're approaching a pallet, but Blight will beat you there with a rush, try running into him during his initial rush. He can't injure you until he hits his first wall, so if you can body block his rush, you'll buy yourself the extra seconds needed to reach the pallet.

    https://streamable.com/molexc

    2) Each time Blight rushes, he needs to commit to a direction. When Blight has you dead to rights, fake left and then go right ;)

    https://streamable.com/wlsibv

I wish I had a clip for you around pallet loops, as I assume that is where most casuals struggle against him. If I play against a good Blight, I'll try to pull some videos for you, because it's hard to describe the counter on pallet loops without a visual aid to demonstrate.

^ What it looks like when a player perseveres through the immense skill curve of playing against blight and comes to realize he is the most skillful killer to play against for survivors. Although some add-ons remove quite a bit of counter play.

Blight is simply the only killer that takes a lot of knowledge to play against, the problem in solo queue in terms of winning is that your other 3 teamates likely have no clue on how to deal with him.

Blight has the most counter play but that doesn't mean any of it is available at a given time. Well I guess you could wiggle or spin but that's simply a last ditch effort that probably only works once.

Obviously not directed at KayTwoAyy just piggy backing off the comment.

  • 2 of the 3 most boring perks in the game.

  • Compound 7 + Placebo tablet. The strongest add-ons in the game.

  • Look into adrenaline vial further than you have. The upsides are large but the down sides are not as insignificant as you say.

I know for a fact people just call Adrenaline vial busted without every realizing the implications of the add-on. The extended look-angle and the consequences of that look angle contain nothing but down sides. If I was try harding on blight I wouldn't even consider adrenaline vial for a second.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The fact some people are trying to defend and justify these addons is just another proof of delusional and biased community. Imagine convincing yourself in something completely false. His basekit is fine but a lot of addons are problematic. This killer has synergy with many perks and viable builds on other killers make it 10x more viable on him due to his fast map traversal, strong ability and exploitable movement which was promised to be fixed but DEVs never did it. I like his design and interactive ability but most of times he has little counterplay to none. We don’t need another Nurse situation. If DEVs go through the healing change some killers will be unbeatable.

    PROBLEMATIC ADDONS

    1. The Rat and The Crow shouldn’t even stack considering people are exploiting his movement bug. Only one speed addon should stay. Preferably rat.
    2. Alchemist Ring shouldn’t even exist. Imagine if the Nurse had similar addon that replenishes her blinks upon hitting a survivor… makes no sense.
    3. Adrenaline Vial is giving me old Yakuyoke Amulet vibes where addon buffed every single aspect of the killer’s power with little to no downside. Needs tweaks for sure.

It's frustrating to see these Billy changes when there are other things that need fixing but clearly they are not priority.

    1. Rat and crow does remove an extensive amount of counterplay. I am fine with 1% reduction on both or remove stacking, either way is fine.

2.Alch ring is busted but nurse already regens 1.5 out of 2 of her blinks by the time fatigue ends so that would be useless.

3.As I said earlier, adren vial rewards bad play and lowers his max potential. Anything but shoulder flicks is on the survivor to dodge rather easily. Collision is more slippery, and his flicks push him forwards instead of being controllable. I am 100% fine with this add-on being nerfed due to it's conflicting impact on skill, but no one really understands this add-on. Regardless of what anyone thinks double speed is better than adren+ anything but c33 easily. Alch ring and green speed far outweighs anything adren vial can do.

4.Didn't even mention c33 when it is by far the most problematic add-on.

5.Iri tag is rather broken but 99.5% of survivors haven't gone against a blight that make the add-on look as broken as it is. Although It is by far the hardest add-on to use and most people don't even know about it.

C21 is over rated for sure and none of his other add-ons can be considered op in anyway.

  • Tea bagging is only meaningful at the exit gates. It's similar to hitting on hook when nobody will save the survivor. It's just gloating at that point.

Not necessarily wrong, just the wrong term

It gives a bigger look angle, meaning you're able to look to the sides a bit further than normal

Oh I know what it means, it's just the term is so far off I didn't realize what they were trying to say. But the downsides of adrenaline vial is soooo much more than people realize. The flicks are more fun due to the to the look angle, but anything but a shoulder flick is easy to dodge. My problem with the addon is that the rush cd reduction makes bad plays fine.

  • "bigger FOV while rushing" - what??? Flat out wrong.

I'm fine with adrenaline vial nerf since it rewards bad play but also people have no idea that it limits blights max skill cap by quite a bit. The add-on is abusable by both sides.

c21 is fine, it's pretty easy to tell when a blight has it and play around it accordingly.

Ring and c33 are beyond busted though. Alch ring ring still takes skill but is still too much. C33 takes no skill and is basically a better Nemesis in add-on form.

  • I mean, dh is fun to get off and play with as a survivor. As a killer dh is boring and tedious to play around. It's somewhat skillful but far beyond over rated in that aspect, all I need to do is sniff your neck for 5 seconds or brush past 99% of survivors as blight. But that simply breaks the flow of game play and contrary to popular belief isn't better vs blight or spirit over Spring Burst. I simply don't want to play around this perk anymore period.

There isn't an argument for dh to be in it's current state besides it's fun/skillful for survivors to use. OK. Looping is way more skillful, even the mediocre macro in this game is way more skillful than dh interactions. Tell me how waiting out dh on the killers part is good game design in any sense? Any killer can out play dh but playing around a single perk every chase that only requires survivors to mess up is beyond boring after the 1000000000000 times it's used. Gj you couldn't even resist the urge to press e after you watch me brush past you as blight the first two times.

Perks that have been meta for 6 years can go die in a hole, even after this second nerf dh will still be B tier.

Only if they also make adjustments so that disconnects from no fault of the player isn't counted towards the DC penalty. When those "alleged" DDoS attacks happened and people constantly being disconnected but getting penalties, yeah that wasn't really fair.

This is backwards. While DDoS is a thing it's rare, people who rack up penalties should be punished far harder than they currently are. Multiplayer games can't differentiate from internet provider dropping you or whatever else it may be, but most of the time it's a rage quit. The game should not take any chances to cater towards people who may or may not be dcing intentionally. No other online multiplayer pvp game allows it and doesn't cater towards these things, neither should dbd.

The DC penalty is always pitifully under punishing dcs.

  • Yeah, I am no expert on spirit but it's obvious what you are saying is a direct buff to her basekit. I am not sure why you would think other wise.

  • @Steakdabait said:

    he's boring in chase.

    you hold m2

they leave the loop, if they can't you get a hit

    This^

I want the most skillful interactions possible. Blight is simply peak dbd and something that zones a survivor from a tile with little skill on either side is simply boring. DBD has so many killers where interactions don't have skillful game play for both sides at the same time. I limit myself from the busted add-ons that mitigate counter play from Blight and literally not a single survivor has complained about in post game besides salty comp players who aren't even in my top 10 juicers ever. The only reason people complain about blight is hug tech when survivors who have not looked into blight enough that they think it's uncounterable and his few busted add-ons that mitigate too much counterplay.

I went through so many different mains before I ever touched blight but there's simply no going back in good conscious. For players who play for fun that don't like it that's their problem. For players who want to genuinely improve I am providing them all the means to do so.

I come from lol and video games are only fun to me when I feel I am improving. I know a decent amount of the dbd players want to improve but so many variables in the game hamper their ability to do so effectively. It's why I don't tunnel. It's why I don't camp besides end game. I want to pit my skill vs the peak of the survivors skill I am chasing, if they happen to be good(beyond rare) than I can actually improve.

In a game that's been filled with bot killers winning most of their games due to these gen kick perks, I know these survivors I go against relish the games I play vs them.

The biggest reason I am against these base heal changes is because perma injured survivors who happened to get jumped by me on a gen as blight don't get to show me their chase potential. I am excited for these upcoming changes because the meta was beyond stale for both sides, but If I deem it too easy to win with decent add-ons and without tunneling or I feel like regardless of how superior in chase I am vs the entire survivor team and still lose because of super efficient survivor's who just want out then I will stop playing yet again.

The macro in this game is relatively easy to understand and the only thing super skillful in this game is a blight who is good vs survivors who know what the killer does. When I say "super skillful" I mean it literally, the term skill in this game doesn't mean much generally considering the most efficient tactics on both sides and how low the skill ceiling is of most killers.

People on the forum can hate on blight all they want but he outright eliminates the least skillful parts of this game for both sides.

Not directed at @Steakdabait, just piggey backing.

  • I'd rather play and be subjected to blight than legion.

  • @MerleDixon said:

Blight is completely fine, why not simply buff most killers to be as strong as him.

I am a Blight main but that's not going to work. You cannot pull more than a few killers up to his level without making them absolutely atrocious to play against. Simply from how their base kit is designed.

I'd say no matter what c33 and ring will get nerfed on blight. Although c33 might somehow slip under the devs radar because no one talks about it.

  • This game would be way more popular if changes would happen more frequently. DBD is the only game where people can't handle change whatsoever.

Sorry DH got nerfed, sorry IW got nerfed. I get it, it's hard when you have to change the exact build you were using for 5 years. Also your playstyle? It's "yours" when everyone has it.

The only thing wrong with this change is base-kit heals and Billy add-ons. Anything else and you simply can't deal with healthy changes to the game(whether that be in the form of perks being nerfed into the ground that have been meta forever or nerfs to things that needed it).

"Why did you even touch the meta" - that's all I needed to see to understand.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Hey devs. Look at this thread. Half of the replies are something along the lines of "No reward for improving or being good at the game. No sense of player progression in terms of skill." Much of the playerbase has moved on from the casual party game mindset of 2016 when the game launched. Short queues aren't a feature if the matches are non-competitive messes.

    This

  • Coldwind offering, lethal pursuer letting me see all 4 survivors spawn separately, I am playing low tier killer. Game is gg unless survivors throw.

The fact that a 4-man split is still a thing in this game is quite funny.

  • It is fair. If you complain about the difference between PC and console then simply go to pc. You don't limit people who put the money in for a good gaming experience just because consoles are 5 years+ behind. Also of course you can get up to 120 fps in dbd if you try.

    Nope.

The perk is a guaranteed health state, no skill or timing required.

I agree with the people above. If the perk is going to deactivate upon any usage, it shouldn't be an Exhaustion perk.

Won't people just run it every game still if they can still run other exhaustion perks. That's the point of this change, to make it less desirable.

Some killers aren't desgines to have mobility. For example Trapper, Hag, Doctor, Nemesis, Pig and Deatslinger. Giving these killers more mobility will not fix the main issues. Instead this would create new issues. Mobility is not the kind of fix you might think. There are very good killers in this game that don't have mobility like Plague, Pyramid Head and Artist.

I think most weaker killers need indivudual buffs in their powers and chases as well as some reworks (Freddy and Myers).

Some killers just aren't designed well. Making clown or wraith A tier for example would be an immense challenge without making them beyond unfair to play against. I guess I should specify some killers are designed well but not built to play against good survivors, even piloted by a good killer. Wraith does exactly what he's intended to do and doesn't feel bad to play against but will never be good without massive complaints.

I agree mobility on it's own doesn't really mean much.

  • I don't think it's changed.

  • Considering Blights current add-on power level, I am genuinely scared to think of a legendary add-on for him.

Also I don't think overpowered and balanced for gameplay goes good together.

I mean the only boon worth its salt was CoH, and that did have counterplay. The remaining boons are too situational, weak, and just outclassed by more versatile alternatives (Lucky Break vs Shadow Step, Unbreakable vs Exponential, Resilience vs Dark Theory). To your sarcasm, yes survivor was still weak before boons—especially solo queue. Kill rate was like 53% which meant more killers ‘won’ than lost.

Umm, you are downplaying the situations teams can make late game with exponential. Calling the perk weak is laughable. Hurry, go snuff the boon at the top of iron works while everyone gets up and walks out the gates.

What's the counterplay to CoH? It's not even CoH, boons placed in even moderately correct places will always be more efficient for survivor regardless of what the killer does. You will never walk into a zone with no gens to snuff a boon ever. If you lose someone in chase to shadowstep, even if you go snuff the boon you lost out more as killer. If you go snuff expo, everyone who was on the ground is up. Assuming the boon was played around decently. I would never take into account players who don't think too much while playing or simply are not good/don't have game sense when talking about anything in any video game.

Also, survivor was still weak before CoH? Solo queue? Sure. Including all of survivor is quite something. What does 53% kill rate mean? What justification did it give your argument? If solo queue was weak before and survivors were still giving up on hook and doing challenges/messing around with their friends, are we sure it wouldn't have been 42% with everyone trying to win? Kill rates within a decent margin might give an indication at best of what's going on but they don't mean much besides that. Blight and Nurse not being the best killers by win rate shows how weak these stats are. Nurse takes 2 days to start stomping 90% of players if you have some talent. Blight might have the highest skill ceiling in the game but you can still get around the map better than anyone and at worst run c33 and be a wayyyy better nemesis/billy. Also let's not forget how low mmr gameplay will always heavily favor killers, it's way easier to m1 someone who doesn't know the first thing about looping than it is to run a killer early on as a survivor.

Honestly the most intense game I have ever seen in dbd was lilith on blight with nothing besides shadowborne spending 20 min playing tug of war with a 4 man swf with expo. Expo in shack on Thompson house covering 25% of the map, the only thing he had was a 1k but the team wanted the 4 man out and eventually they got it. But that's what happens when a perk like expo is played around correctly at the right time, it turns a 3k into a 0k. The obvious advantage of expo over unbreakable is the fact that it's infinite, if the killer has no time to snuff then the perk is simply better.

While Swfs can obviously play around perks better than anyone, 3-4 good players can easily look like a swf. The fact is good players are few and far between and amazing players are near non-existent.

  • Man. Solo survivor must have been an auto loss before CoH. At least that's how some of the comments about it make me feel.

It's almost like boons have no real counterplay for killers. CoH, had no counter play and a smart team in the right scenario can make exponential carry them all out the exit gates late game. Just because shadowstep is situational and dark theory doesn't exist doesn't mean boons are fair in any regard.

Dead hard didn’t need another nerf. Killer mains complained it used no skill. They then fixed it to where it needs skill and people complain.

Healing takes a 3rd as long as a gen? Might as well stay half dead the whole game.

Circle of healing? Hopefully you brought a medkit or your teammates actually do teamwork.

Pain res is practically useless at this point.

A thing that has always been in the game and is simply counterable by a single perk is getting removed.

Who asked for the billy nerf? The devs 100% only read like one thing that complained about Billy and decided to nerf him.

Ok you got me on billy nerf.

But CoH is currently an extremely busted and uncounterable perk. The perk can simply never be balanced in it's current state, whether that is a bad or op perk.

DH is simply just awful design due to the nature of it. I can counter it 90% of the time but playing around it is so tedious and boring. It's really not the skillful imo but I play blight and come from lol so I understand if other people think dh is skillful when it's really not. I guess if you have only ever mained dbd you might think it's really skillful. DH can be skillful but I have seen less than 5 amazing dh's since 6.1.0 and I watch a lot of dbd content and include my own killer game play in that. I don't even think dh is op, I just think waiting it out breaks the flow of the game especially after the 10000th time.

Killer: "DH?" *bored expression on streamers face*

    Survivor: Presses e

Killers: "DH" *streamer continues to have bored expression on their face*

Wow, such intense gameplay this perk creates!

It's not even killer mains, it's everyone having this interaction.

I would rather see a survivor outplay me at a tile 9 times out of 10 than play worse at the tile to try and get their e off. It's simply awful design at it's core.

Meta changes in any video game are not simply just nerfing op things and buffing weak things, it's about changing what is played every game. I haven't even touched killer in a couple months due to survivors running the exact same build every game yet again.

  • Ok but why? Other than the base kit heal nerf I have no idea what could make you drop this game.

  • @BougieBlackChick said:

You’re correct. If you’re someone who brings toolboxes, maps or flashlights this is a huge nerf for solo Q because now your ability to heal is 100% dependent on randos in solo Q unless you bring your own medkit, WITH enough ads ons to get you the two full heals. Unless you wanna waste a peek spot on self care that takes as long to heal you as it does to complete a full gen.

so now all the killers who use tunneling as the META (because this isn’t going to slow down tunneling or camping. Let’s be honest) are guaranteed a 4K every match

You know, you are super survivor sided. I have not seen single post where you empathize with the other side whatsoever.

Everything in this patch is great except altruistic healing being nerfed. CoH was not ok and could never be ok in it previous state due to a lack of real counterplay.

    • Don't discuss leaks.
    • Don't encourage cheating or otherwise breaking rules or unsportsmanlike behaviour (such as DCing)

That's about it. Most people get banned because they get into heated arguments and say something stupid, or they keep saying things like "I always DC against killer x because I think I'm more important than other players". And it's typically repeat offences.

Oh and don't discuss specific cases of moderation/suspension/banning. Saying "I was suspended for so and so which I disagree with etc." will get you resuspended.

As you're a newer member on the forum, your account has this certain limitation. If you edit your posts, then they go into limbo for moderation, in which a mod has to manually authorise your posts to be shown on the forums, which can take time. (I'm not entirely sure why this is a thing for edits and not all posts, presumably they think trolls will edit their posts to get around rules or something)

I wish I could agree with you but dcing and self unhooking is openly encouraged without punishment. I watched a thread solely dedicated to punishing these acts and half the 100+ comments were endorsing this behavior

  • PR is the only slow down I will ever use but I don't mind the nerf.

DH should just get a full rework, regardless of anything else about the perk I simply just don't want to wait out dh anymore. I think waiting it out is simply bad design in dbd. To me it just disrupts the natural flow of the chase, like how dumb is it to stand behind a survivor until they press e or in my case brush past 99% of survivors with blight. The change itself seems to be just to lower it's pick rate and it may accomplish that for a bit, but I suspect the usage rate will eventually rise back up to 15-20% because it's not actually losing anything in chase once you have it.

  • You can use it until the dh is hit, then you need another safe unhook.

I don't care about healing and it has never affected me in my Hag games. I would be ok with this change, if Hag received compensation for it - a speed buff, an add-on change to compliment the trap nerf, so it doesn't feel so bad from the killer's perspective

So you never set up a web around a 3-4 gen high traffic area? Do you just chase people and place a trap at a loop?

I'm not sure how healing didn't affect you on hag unless you played like the ladder.

  • Favorite perks = dh which has 0 affect on tunneling, camping and anything relevant besides frustration. inb4 someone reply saying dh is keeping blight and spirit in check like sb isn't just better vs them lmao(unless you are part of the .001% dh user club[not you]). dh is only better than sb vs nurse and even then I don't play nurse often so I can't verify that is true.

3 gen perks are nerfed which required bot level of gameplay to use. Mass healing has been nerfed which was extremely problematic.

The only valid thing to complain about in this patch is base altruistic healing and billy add-ons. I don't want everyone to play injured as I think that will end up terribly playing vs blight.

Anyway the next meta can't be worse than the current meta for survivors, at least in terms of expressing skill in general.

  • ALL I want is to not have to wait it out. Anyone who says it's a guaranteed 3rd health state doesn't have patience, but my god playing around it every chase when it's not something base kit is so dumb and tedious.

Honestly I have never though of this comparison or seen it but rusty shackles is essentially the same thing. You know the hag has it after first chase and all you have to do it be aware and wait it out. What's so hard to understand about it? It disrupts the natural flow of the game. The little mind game where the killer is in full control of the situation regarding dh is just dumb at this point. It's really not that skillful to use or play around, just beyond tedious.

If it's somehow still run in my games by more than one survivor, I am going to start running alch ring again as that add-on obliterates current dh(well also it's busted but that's beside the point here).

the point is BHVR has a track record of always trying to fix things. They care. So why starve them of money, the very funds they need to keep working? BHVR's track record of always trying to improve speaks for itself.

lmao, if they knew what good killer design was SM would never release with like that.
