  • The big ones for me were

    • don't Run everywhere
    • Self Care isn't as good as it sounds
    • Don't rush unhooks unless you know you can do it safely.
    • don't let annoying killers get to you

    As Killer

    • sometimes it's better to break off a chase then win it
    • Searching every locker you see is pointless.
    • If you feel stuck look down there could be someone blocking you
    • Don't let annoying survivors get to you
  • I can understand not liking the HUD, but why are people complaining about animations? That I don't understand. I watched the comparison video and didn't notice much of a difference. The HUD is weird being all over the place. they easily could have put it in the corner again even with the new portraits. It feels like unnecessary screen clutter.

Why do you enjoy ruining someone else's game? What is fun about it? Why do you take pleasure from it?

I'll be honest, today was kind of a crap day overall, but then I get on DbD just to mess around and get some scares or something and keep running into the same killers who decide to 1. [BAD WORD] talk me after match for dying and 2. tunnel, camp, and mori me every time we run into each other. Then, when I get out of match, they gloat about tunneling me off hook and killing me right after second. They tell me horrible things. And I'm already not feeling great, and suddenly I can't play my game to the best of my ability because I have these people who want nothing but to bully someone who has little to no control over it. DS works once. Unbreakable works once. Nothing, not Borrowed Time or all the pallets or doing whatever I can to loop for even a short time, can stop this.

I don't want you giving me lists of perks to use against them. I don't want you telling me to just play with friends. I sure as [BAD WORD] don't want you telling me to just DC. You all know you don't mean it, or you wouldn't be in here throwing temper tantrums about those very things every day. I just want to know why, in your heart of hearts, you think it's okay to be malicious to other players and ruin their game. Why you think singling out a person over and over is acceptable behavior. Is it just because you know there are no consequences? Are you genuinely that mean?

If you come in here just to bully me further for having a hard time, I'm fully prepared to flag and report you. I'm not in the mood to deal with more of this when I can't even have a match where I get over 7k points.

yeah getting into games like that really sucks, I play about 60/40 survivor and killer. I'll tell you this, I get into toxic killer matches quite a lot, It's really bad right now for some reason. It feels like more then usual. When I play killer almost every match Im in is full of survivors being toxic, tbbaging and doing things like pallet stun blinding. and body blocking. Sadly you can't win on either side when it comes to that.

There are so many game mechanics that are broken such as vaults for survivors and grabs for killers that it can make the game unfair.

from my experience. SOME killers complain when they can't utterly destroy a survivor team and call the game unfair. most killers point out things that need balancing and tweaking since the killer job is much more difficult with the amount of things you have to manage at once.

Now this is based on the survivor teams I've played on and may not represent every player in the game.

ALL of them complain about killers being over powered. yet some of them are the same people who are good at looping and when they can make the killer look like a fool and stun the hell out of them they're laughing their heads off. When they can't do it they're angry and not having fun.

One of the may issues on both sides is arrogance. If a killer can destroy a team they'll do it and only their enjoyment matters. the same goes for survivors and less skilled killers. they'll stomp them because they can and again only their enjoyment matters. It's human nature sadly. People sometimes forget that you need both sides to actually play a game and if one side isn't having fun they won't play.

I myself have taken long breaks from the game because I get tired of the same old song and dance. Maybe you should do that and come back after a bit and see how you feel.

I'll end by saying this. as a survivor I'm not toxic and as a killer I'm only toxic if someone else is to me first. and that's a match by match basis I don't take my frustration out on a new team because of the last one.

  • The blood rush as a whole brings out he worst most try hard sweaty players in the game. the killers are jerks, the survivors are jerks. you can't win.

Isn't the survivor rule book just a way for survivors to try and shame killers to make the game even easier for them?

My idea was if you have ds active you suffer from a 50%reduced recovery rate the timer is 2x as long when down because if the killer is tunneling you they should be punished either by the stun or or wait time making ds unbreakable less effective and if any progression is made to affect the match the timer empties 2x as quick(includes lockers)

Because how can you say your being tunneled when your doing an obj that's like saying why did you shoot me in cod when you defusing the bomb its stupid

That's true most of the time if I'm doing an objective my DS will run out even at level 3. so I really only get to use it if I am being tunneled. I've only ever had it activate at an open door once, and I'm betting that killer was not happy about that.

with the way people play it they may as well swap sprint burst in.

it shouldn't make you invincible if you're not moving or next to a wall.

It shouldn't give you a burst of speed if it makes you invincible. sprint burst already gives the speed.

I don't run dead hard often but there's a lot wrong with it and there's probably a lot that I'm missing and don't even know about. The devs even admitted it wasn't designed for dedicated servers and needs a rework.

I was frustrated to see far too many questions about "what new stuff can we entice you to spend money on?" and far too few questions about "Hey, please tell us what needs improving with the game."

That was the one big thing that bugged me about the suvey. "What would you be willing to spend money in the store to have?"

that's not how this game should work. some of the questions were interesting but sadly I don't see many positive things coming from it

  • I don't think they even looked at the power, they look more at which killer is being used more then any other. Why do you think they're working on Freddy next. Not because of his powers it's because he's used more then any other killer at this point.

  • I can't help but notice that both sides of the game do this, Killers what some survivor perks to be nerfed and Survivors want killers to be nerfed.

From my experience survivors are much more vocal about the changes they want. maybe not on here but trust me every team I play on complains about Killers being OP and wanting to nerf them into the ground. yet these are the same survivors that loop very well and toy with killers every chance they get. If they can't do it they get upset but when they can they're laughing their heads off

I think it's a no win situation at this point, what one person is going to like another is going to hate. I've been in some dev streams and every other comment is nerf this, change that.

I do agree though that the DS Unbreakable combo is too powerful. you pick them up they get away, you leave them down they get away.

It would be too hard to program but for situations like that it would be interesting if they had a conflict system. If you're using DS you can't use unbreakable ect.

  • It's not just that, some players are just negative. even without object.

I've had survivors that know every dirty trick in the game and use it on me. I'm low rank killer, I'm trying to get better but I find it every frustrating because I'm doing the best I can and I get stomped 8 out of 10 games and tea bagged to death for it. Sometimes you just have to take the L and move on, or if you know one person is going to be an issue don't feed their trolling. I know it's a pain I wish more could be done about it myself.

  • I don't see hackers too often but I swear over the weekend I saw a few. Killers that knew exactly where people were at all times without any perks like BBQ or Nurses.

killers moving much faster then they should

A huntress that appeared to have auto aim, making insane hatchet shots and hitting people through walls not to mention literally snapping to other survivors near them, As in there's no turn or movement, they're just hitting them in seconds.

Survivors that disappear from right in front of me as killer when just downed them next to a hook and then they're somewhere else getting healed.

I'm guessing it's because of the blood rush but that doesn't make it right.

  • I still take hits when I'm well clear of a dropped pallet and when I'm well clear of a window. not to mention the hits I take when the killer is facing away from me.

The hit validation is getting worse.

On the Exit Gates one I think the OP was talking about fully opening the gate instead of ninety-nineing it so as not to trigger perks that care about the EGC.

I fully admit to Nope!ing out of trails as soon as I can but that was when I was working on Survivor Adepts or specific challenges that required escaping that way. When not doing either of those I will ninety-nine a gate and then run off to try and do some totems or find a chest or save someone from the hook and what not.

The only other time I'll Nope! out as fast as I can is when NOED is in play and I've no idea where the totem is.

a lot of the perks trigger when the gates are powered up. not when they open. blood warden is the only one I can think of that requires an open gate. NOED activates as soon as the last gen is done.

  • A lot of things are broken right now. blood point offerings don't work right for one.

hit detection is broken beyond compare right now

and I mean actually broken not just unbalanced.

matchmaking is a joke at the moment but they're working on that.

  • Only PC and Stadia do at this point and I don't see that changing anytime soon if ever

I am currently in a game as doctor on dead dawg saloon and I caught a Nea on a gen. It took a few attempts as she started tapping it and the game kept taking the grab away but I got (un)lucky and grabbed her. Now I can't hook or drop her and she is healed to full on my shoulders not struggling and I am stuck in the map with her since I still can't hook her. All other survivors are dead. Also everytime I press to hook or drop it skips frames.

I have saved the clip on the PS5 but have no idea how to show the devs this.

put it on to youtube publicly and send them a link

    • I don't sprint everywhere and sometimes I get found first.
    • I don't loop near a hook a teammate is on.
    • Because that's the best time to open them and I can get the hell out of there. would you rather people wait until the killer is right next to them?
    • I'm not, I actively look for them.
    • I do that and the people still run off setting off the trap anyway.
    • I'm usually dropping it as I get hit so yeah.
    • I don't use self care
    • because healing others gets you more points and takes points away from the killer

Are those the answers you wanted?

  • I play both sides and I have things I don't like on those sides.

However I will say this, any survivor team I play on all say the same things in game, "Killers are OP" "Screw them" "they need to change this"

These are the same people when they loop or stun a killer over and over they're loudly laughing their heads off and enjoying every second. They only get mad when they can't mess with a killer.

I'm not the best killer only about rank 17 But I get put against teams that wipe the floor with me. because they know how to do things killers can't counter. not mention the perks they use. I'm not going to get into that we all know the combos that are out there.

When either side complains I shake my head. because both sides can be just as bad.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Getting a 4k should mean something.

I agree. It did when the game first started but after they introduced the emblem system and changed conditions it doesn't anymore. an Adept Killer used to be a 4K with 3 base perks. now it has to be a double pip or you get nothing.

I play both survivor and killer, and it may just be this weekend because of the blood point bonus but I've be facing killers that are acting really weird.

    appearing to have auto aim,

moving much faster then they should

getting hits that are nowhere close to connecting. I mean on the other side of a downed pallet and running away and I still get hit. or facing the total opposite direction and I still get hit.

It's the game or the players but something has been up as of late.

and playing against survivors, forget about it. every dirty trick in the book is being used. As someone who doesn't main the killer role I get why no one wants to play killer because it's not fun most of the time. I don't mind not killing everyone but when I can literally find no one because people disappear from right in front of me. It's not fun. And I don't mean they went around a corner and lost them I mean downed them right next to a hook and a wall they disappeared.

  • yeah the next time you log in trying leaving it on a killer or survivor that isn't part of the first 6 and when you come back the next day it won't be on them anymore. and the game will forget any daily rituals that it's given you that involve any survivors or killers that aren't the first 6 too.

  • @Woot1234 said:

I completely disagree the game is over if the gates are open. When you're dealing with SWFs and you're in EGC, that's when survivors are the most predictable because they won't let their friend die on the hook.

Well If a door is open and I can get away from a killer I'm gone. unless I know I can make it to that hook friends or not I'm not risking it.

  • The fact that this game has meta perks in the first place is sad. the game meta should be in it's basic structure not in the addons you can use.

    Seems busted, no?

If the gates are open and someone has DS take the L and move on. The game is over if the gates are open. just like it's over for survivors if they're not and there's only one or two left

  • Nurse and Michael are the two killers for me. more Michael since I barely play Nurse but it's a thing.

Hook suicides are the reason the DC penalty makes no sense. Seriously, its like a DC but they ge tto keep their BP. And the excuse is that it's thematic because the survivor is giving up, but... Isn't that what DCing is?

So... Can we have a suicide penalty?

They could always just give more points for a first hook kill. but that would just encourage even worse camping sadly.

The only time I've ever done that is when I'm playing solo and there is zero effort being made to come save me. I either 4% or I'm gone.

  • I've noticed this the past little while, a lot of us spend time complaining about how annoying killers are, it's true that they can be a lot of the time. That being said I also noticed that the devs put things in place to discourage the killer from doing things survivors don't like. The big one being if you stay near a hook you loose points in one of the emblem categories. Yet they've done very little if anything to stop survivors from doing things that annoy killers. body/hook blocking, pallet stun blinding. and even stupid saves because of BT. Yes killers body block too but it's not to the extent that survivors teams do it. I've body blocked only few times as survivor for protection hits and to give a little more wiggle time Never to prevent a hook. and once I get hit I'm out of there.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

As a survivor main I have no idea what killers go through on a daily basis and what things are pitted against you. I want to know how the game is for you and what you would do to make the game more balanced. All I ask is that the changes be reasonable. ( I want to and I will listen)

Edit: From what has been told the problems are as followed

    • Poor Map design
    • Matchmaking
    • Perk (for both sides)
    • RNG
    • Generator Speeds
    • Survive with friends
    • Toxicity
    • Disparity between killers

Thats for now if I missed anything tell me and thank you.

Please at least try playing killer, then you may have better understanding. I used to main survivor as well and only about 6 months ago actually started playing killer too and wow was it interesting to see the other side. and wow. Survivors have a lot of power yet they spend so much time complaining that killers are OP. I can assure you against a good team they're not. Mistakes cost killers a lot more since survivors have so many second chance/get out of jail free perks. I used to be one of the people that complained that killers were OP. Now I know better. The survivor side is far easier then the killer side in many aspects.

Why should it? You deserve death for not doing gens, let alone 1. If a single gen isn't completed and there's one survivor left, their aura should be shown so they die or just let the entity kill them.

If there's one person left alive yes it should spawn with five gens. at that you've played well enough and have the win. Not mention you can still close it and get points. That argument just sounds petty and arrogant.

  • I play both sides of the game, I used to only do survivor but I decided this summer that I'm going to do both since I literally was only playing half the game.

This is my opinion after playing killer for a while.

The main problem with the game is survivors. The fact that like other have said there's a survivor rule book for killers, Killers are not allowed to(insert rule here) is there something for survivors? Hell no, they can and do what ever they want as long as they escape, I've been against and on teams that play like that. I don't, I play to try and survive not be an ass. As a killer I try not to camp or tunnel and don't use NOED, why? because some fake rule book told me not too? no because I know how annoying it is when it's done to me as a survivor. However I'm going to start changing my stance on NOED.

There are far more toxic survivors then killers. some killers are toxic yes but some only appear that way because they have to play like that in order to stand a chance in some cases. It's when it's done when it's unnecessary that makes it annoying. When I play survivor the reason I get annoyed with killers who tunnel and face camp isn't because they're a bad killer it's because it's not fun. I don't expect to live every game and have things handed to me but at least let me enjoy it a bit. I run DS because I don't like being tunneled that's it. Sometimes it only buys me about a minute because it doesn't help,

how many times have you seen the following survivor builds? BT, UB, DS, SC. or ADRE, SB, DH, UE.

If not those exact builds at least 2 of the 8 are in every build you see. Save urban evasion they're all second chance get out of or get out of jail free perks. They put killers into no win situations. you don't pick up right away to avoid DS? you're punished by UB. you know someone is waiting for a save near a hook, you might as well not be there because they have BT. Oh don't forget they're spine chill so they can tell you're coming long before you can see them.

I could keep going. but the point is, of course survivors are more toxic because they've been the ability to play that way, Killers get punished far more for mistakes then survivors do thanks to perks. Hell Killers loose points by being near a hook no matter the context of them being there.

The development time spent supporting such a feature would be better spent elsewhere.

First fair argument, Like I said I didn't desire Mortal Kombat Levels of gore. people seem to be missing that point and going right for, "oh you want kids to play it?" no. Also with graphics you're using the things you'd have to add to this game for it to be illegal in some markets is far more then what I was suggesting.

Secondly I have to say this; If you feel that development time is better spent elsewhere please start doing it. Spending more time on the actual game structure would be great.

    • fixing even the weird bugs. like how the PS5 version doesn't remember anything outside the first 6 survivors and killers. Killer/survivor last used, cosmetics and even daily rituals. If they they they don't involve the first 6 characters on either side or aren't the general ones that everyone can get, the game acts like they were never there. (yes I have submitted a bug report)
    • Delivering on things you promised years ago, like this fabled MMR that I keep hearing about that that's never ready, or the game warm up idea, I'm really curious about that one.
    • Spending less time on cosmetics. I'd say a lot of development time would be better spent elsewhere
    • Making events and the rift actually enjoyable. some of the challenges are a lot of work for how little you get and encourage poor gameplay,
    • Quit treating this like a free to play game when it isn't free, making things annoying to encourage people to spend real money on fake money screams mobile game and you've got one of those. keep it there.

It's hard to tell with text but I'm not trying to argue with you I'm just discussing things. It's your game not mine and this is just my opinion.

...and stay away from sharp objects.

I didn't say that, please don't put words in my mouth, there is a rating of T. just because I didn't mention it doesn't mean I don't know it's there.

  • The overlook hotel would work as a map. the killer/survivor would not. If you go the Shining route it would have to be Wendy or Dick, because they're the only adults. If you go the Dr. Sleep route, You could have adult Danny but Jack would be dead. so he couldn't be a killer.

    • they're new and think slashing you there makes the hook progress go down more

fair enough for context the game had just started I hid in a locker because I heard him coming, someone ran by me and he somehow knew I was in that locker. at least it felt that way and on the hook I went. so I'm not sure what I could have done to annoy them.
