Our current favorite is artist. We like how versatile her power can be. We can scout across the map and search many lockers quickly, we can trap survivors if they try stupid loops or snipe from across the map to harass ones on gens while chasing another. More possibilities than we would think for shooting crows. As an added bonus she's both creepy and pretty at the same time.

Are you really surprised? The thread has the pretension of comparing ranged killers, but Xeno isn't a ranged killer...
Honestly? Nope. Was someone bored and wanted to make a valid but useless point? yep.

I thought about putting them in but they're really not that comparable to the ones i picked. Artist is more set up and trickster is just kinda hard to compare directly in terms of power charge up
But your title said "Comparing Ranged(or effectively ranged) Killer Powers Charge Time To Each Other" we wanted a compairison. Besides, at this point its turned into another talk about xeno's ***.

I love how our favorite lady and k-pop star are forgotten....

Because everyone has their own definition of "fun" or "win" or whatever. We may not care enough to stack the deck in our favor but others see it as normal. Your gona need to pick the brains deep if you want a satisfying answer.
-
We play both but we would be calling them out on that kind of behavior, though we're the type that tends to be direct and blunt (usually for worse). Its not worth the risk of them rubbing off on us even a little to stay (its just a damn game ppl, its not real life or death at stake).

When bleeding people out specifically, I should elaborate a bit more.
If I can clearly hook the Survivor and hooking them would effectively end the match, then yea, I will hook them. The only time I hate being bleed out as Survivor is when Im the final Survivor left and Im sitting under a hook but the Killer wont hook me; obviously, I would just end the match if I were the Killer.
The only time I bleed Survivors out is if they want to off themselves on hook to move onto the next match. If they want to throw the match for their entire team because they arent happy with the end result, then I will waste their time like they wasted my time and their entire team's time. I am petty, Ive dealt with hundreds of people like it as Survivor and Killer, and I want people to know that acting like a spoiled brat has consequences.
Overall when I decide if I do it or not, I put myself is the opposing side's position and how I would feel before doing it. As I mentioned before, there is a lot of nuance with me doing it.
shrug again, that was just our thought from what we understood. Our thoughts on the mater are ultimately irrelevant as your opinion matters most but for what its worth, its relatively "nice" (atleast compared to us).
-
We're not entirely sure what your looking for here as something benign for one would be jerkish for others. At least for us, we just dislike the hypocrisy of the bleed out part. Do to others what you'd do to you in that position and all that and if your gona bleed them out you'd better not feel bad on if it happens to you. Overall though we'd say your "code" is pretty fair, though depending on how forgiving your thoughts on AFK are (we've had friends who were afk for abit at the start due to irl things such as pets).
As for the argumentive player, they weren't playing the game normally and we're assuming they admitted to doing it because of the killer your playing. Not cool regardless. Ultimately you just gotta ask yourself if you feel like a jerk for doing what you do. Your the one playing the game and can play however you want, but its nice to keep in mind other people want to have fun too.
-
3 Escapes, 6 deaths, and 3 would have escapes if I didnt do something stupid to die a hero. Of note 2 of those deaths were to being camped, so I think I broke even (the other 2 of us have similar experiences).
-
Not sure if it counts as little but theres only 1 thing that genuinely gets under our skins and thats Object. We remember the past uses veeeeerrrrrry vividly and see more than just the survivor as red.
Something that probably fits better is the survivors standing in the exit who are just there to waste time. The games over, the killer can't actually get you, everyone else is out or next to you, why wait out the timer?

Any particular map you'd recommend? I'm honestly thinking McMillian might be decent for it — lockers spawn mostly on either side rather than in the middle, it seems. I'm at my wits end trying it without an offering, at this point.
Maps that you know inside out that dont heavily favor survivors the whole game meaning no garden of joy (1 of us recommends midwitch). Basically you want to know potential spawns, where you can quickly gain stalk, and wont have to hard of a time pressuring survivors with minimal to no hooking.
-
Play with your food, Corrupt Intervention, iron grasp or Agitation, 4 is your call [recommend some form of slowdown/Aura reading or something to shore any personal weaknesses].
Like everyone said, your gona need to do it the hard way though with either agi or corrupt, the lockers shouldn't be a problem for the last survivor long as you don't accidently carry them to hatch or something. We advocate bringing a map offering as that helped alot for us.
On a side note, we're not 100% sure if bots count towards the achievement so if they do DC give it a go anyway and try saving the bot for last.
-
Wouldn't mind if Artist's got a tiny bit buffed and more killers had something to cause it but they're overall fine.
-
Sadako. The fact she can get away with murder with as little interaction with survivors as she can now is appalling.

I consider fun to be killers that I can run fun builds with or are fun like Myers and Oni I own both of those and Wesker. Also M1 killers like the pig but I don't own her but one of the comments said she can be depending on your style.
I have had the game for a year played for 2 months when I got the game Artist was my main at the time. Came back when Skull Merchant came out then quit after two days (I'm sure you already know why). I came back mid April got the Oni enjoyed him and then got a free rift pass around the anniversary event and got Myers and deathslinger. Just two weeks ago I got Nemisis. I am still trying to fin a main maybe the pig.
I hope all this info helps.
Kinda thinking you like variety/flexibility the most. We would suggest pig, Ghostface, or spirit for a test run as they can be played pretty much any way (pig is "customizable" with her power, GF is basically a m1 killer able to turn off his heartbeat and possible exposed, spirit is an speedy m1, all of whom can run pretty much anything).

Survivors basically have invulnerability shields at windows. But there is oh so much more to it.
The endurance spam is infuriating. There are way to many ways to proc endurance giving a bonus health state. Most survivors take a minimum of three hits to take down anymore.
The gen speeds are goofy. BHVR undid their nerf to gen speeds by giving survivors so many perks that increase their repair speed now. So yeah while base gens technically take longer than they used to. They actually take less time in practice thanks to all the perks and boxes.
Survivors are actually more powerful when injured now as they run faster, vault faster, heal faster, and repair faster.
And Windows of Opportunity quite literally plays one of the harder parts of the game for you. Pathing used to be something that required time to learn and skill to apply. But Windows of Opportunity does your pathing for you now. You literally know exactly what is safe and where to go next.
And the cherry on top of all of it is the same survivors who are living in this luxurious era for survivor will you without a hint of irony claim killer is OP and easier than ever. Even though Killers best perks have all been nerfed. And the killers themselves keep getting nerfed. And even more hilariously the two most recent killers have been designed to be rendered powerless by giving survivors weapons to completely nullify their powers and make them basic M1 killers.
It's beyond insane.
Ya know, I keep hearing this beng called "truth" yet can't help seeing "complaints".
While we can't argue about how many ways there are to proc endurance, most those ways are conditional or come with a price (DH, BT, and Off the Record require you to be hooked and unhooked, Soul Guard and buckle up requires you to be unslugged, WGLF requires some aultristic action and then save a slug for them to have endurance, and the lowest cost is the styptic which simply eats your medkit)
Gen speeds have always been goofy. Theres alot of reasons(excuses?) that survivors are bringing more toolboxes. Its been that alot of killers have relied heavily on stacking regression and slowdowns on top of one another to the point where they now have to adapt to being able to quickly and efficiently harass survivors instead of relying on their perks. We can admit some maps make it annoyingly hard and sometimes you'll have to sweat if you want 4k after 4k but nothing huge has changed for the ones who have never relied heavily on slowdown.
Survivors could always vault faster and repair faster while injured (we're pretty sure resilience has been in the game since we started), heck spine chill used to be do all that while LOOKING at the survivors general direction. Through walls. They've only somewhat recently gotten more non exhaustion movement speed effects.
Windows doesn't do **** in deadzones. In addition theres many ways to inflict blindness on survivors, either via perk or add ons. If it really bothers you that much, run em.
Your gona need to define best as everyone has different thoughts on that. Killers have both been buffed and nerfed as the game evolves (slowly but it is) and its not like survivors haven't been getting nerfed either. Theres multiple sides and yours isn't the whole "truth".
-
We tend to play him as a m1 killer most the time so anything for them helps bender. Set cameras in places survivors wouldn't normally look or in areas that get the best view to see them, not necessarily to tag them such as the front and back of the ski resort, in trees, etc. Keep an area and replace cameras as needed as survivors have a harder time wrecking everything if its constantly replaced, just don't go out of your way to do it. If possible in chase, shoot on 1 side of a loop and you can usually tag them and have access to overclock as needed unless multiple survivors come to aid with emps. Just for the record, he can go for a chaser but it requires alot more effort than its usually worth and requires alot of sweating and good camera placements.
-
We're probably some of the few who actually like the game

I want to know who are the most fun killers I don't care about getting a 4k that is just a bonus. If they are good killers that is just a bonus.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
Before we jump on the "its subjective" band, can we ask what you consider fun?
-
Depends on what you think is fun.
She's mostly a m1 killer with stealth (ignoring the dash) and a slightly rng slowdown. Her add ons do allow for a strange amount of variety in what they do.
We enjoy causing random chaos with her, especially in the end game (best killer to open doors) and if you do want to play her, our best advice is don't chase a survivor with an active trap.
-
To answer, it's technically not a true infinite but it might as well be with the amount of time you're going to waste against someone who knows what they're doing.
-
We play both (which one more depending on rifts and achievements) but favor killer. We like relying on ourselves instead of others (and each other too)
-
Only a little. We would like some dailies to give some shards, or if you complete a certain amount you earn shards, but the easy ones are nice bloodpoints for newer players.
-
We enjoy using her as a debuff and ambush killer.
Though with that said, probably 1 in 10 play to not be a "hr-sit-on-3-gens" merchant which is...sad...and irritating...

@ThatRedPyramidThing said:
I see this being said by quite a good number of players. And I (as someone who has been playing for 6 years) want to dispel this falsehood being widely spread among the players.
Killer is not easier now than when I started.
Killers used to be able to face camp. Like actually face camp. Not what modern players call face camping today but actual true blue face camping in which the killer could stand in front of a hooked survivor and literally physically block players from unhooking. Because you could only unhook from directly in front of the hooked survivor. Unhooking from the side was a patch to combat face camping.
NOED used to have an aura, meaning you may not ever find it.
Killers could Mori after the first hook.
Borrowed Time wasn't base kit. Meaning Killers could down an unhooked survivor instantly unless the rescuer was running Borrowed Time. And Borrowed Time to was based on Terror Radius so killers like Freddy, Wraith, Pig, and Ghostface ignored Borrowed Time.
Pain Resonance worked everytime you hooked on a Scourge Hook not just the first time. It also revealed any survivors on the generator.
Ruin slowed down generator repairs.
Nerfed Ruin regressed faster.
Undying worked more than once.
Pop Goes to the Weasel did a flat 25% not a scaling percentage.
Eruption caused incapacitated.
Survivors now have the ability to spam endurance.
Survivors now have perks that speed up gens.
Survivors now have multiple perks to move faster.
Vaults are stronger than they've ever been.
Windows of Opportunity literally plays the game for you but pathing for you.
Killer is not easier now than ever. Killer is in one of the weakest it's been.
Survivors just don't try anymore. Just please watch your hud and see how little your team does. Watch how often there are no generator icons. Survivors only think killer is stronger because only strong killer players still play killer. Weaker and average killers quit the game or became survivor mains.
I'll will die on the hill that survivors lose because of their teammates way more than the killers skill.
I know I'm about to be bombarded with hate. But it's true. We all know it's true if you played killer back then you know it was easier then.
We feel like joining the echo chamber just because "We all know it's true if you played killer back then you know it was easier then." While true on a technicality this is effectively false.
Killer was easiest during the kick meta, which wasn't THAT long ago. Currently, while it isn't the easiest its still MUCH better than back then [we are assuming you mean way back like plague release or earlier]. Since we've also been here for 6 years we feel like we got a decent claim for that. In addition, the points are scattered through the timeline and some are effectively null (survivors always had perks for gen speed and have 4 perks for movement speed, 3 of which are relatively recent and have conditions [Hope needs endgame, theory is tied to a totem, mft requires you being injured and not exhausted, power of 2 requires a full heal and for you 2 to stick together close and healthy]. Vaults have always been hit or miss depending on the map such as both old and new haddonfield.)
Survivors also had A LOT more powerful tools to play with which plenty of people above have listed so we wont bother (which are also oddly enough scattered through space and time). While you have a point that killers have lost some things, most are still serviceable to a strong extent while some, such as true face camping and moris off hook, were unhealthy for the game.
Your free to your own opinion but calling it an out right lie ("falsehood") and your opinion true isn't gona work with the evidence on hand.
-
We kinda see all survivors so none seem that unpopular to us.
As killer artist mostly, though hags and twins get honored seconds.
-
As the above said, but funnily enough, we're still under the impression that if the survivors die to EGC because you opened the door and they stayed, your rating rises
-
We used to since nemi until Wesker came around.... stupid rpd achievement...
-
Strange how we keep hearing bots messing up skill checks yet haven't seen one yet not caused by the killer...
Maybe we're on copium, but yes, the bots are ALOT better than a regular dc. Actually, we don't think we are on copium.

Atleast let us speed up our bleed out timer if there's only 2 survivors left.
Being slugged for minutes because the killer is getting looped/not finding the other surv is so unfun.
A minute + 1 per survivor up?

With these bright lights? I disagree.
To be fair, it feels about the same brightness, just in a different pallet. The walls are greyish instead of bluish white. Survivors "glow" less to us but that might be just us as well.
-
Could always run the blindness stuff and watch survivors get very confused
-
While we could be forgetting, we haven't seen an "official" determination of win or loss from the devs (not that we'd take it seriously anyways).
For us a win as killer is 2+ of the following:
- 7+ hook states
- Killed the most annoying or skilled survivor
- Had fun
As survivor 2+ of the following:
- Escape
- Complete rift challenge or achievement
- Die a hero
- Annoy the killer if they're being a ***
- Have fun
-
Its nice to know they still didn't change IDV from when we stopped....sad since they have interesting hunters too...
-
When we're killer it depends on our mood or if they get the 4%.
As survivor, rarely as its more likely they're gona slug for the 4k.

Don't think a majority of survivors will know how~

Visually it looks good, but theres a grand total of 1 thing that brings us joy on that map. Trapping the bottom of the house windows (trapper, artist, hag) and having someone down because of it.
-
Artist: Iridescent Ink
When a dire crow swarms or injures a survivor, another dire crow propels from that survivor towards the next closest survivor, prioritizing swarmed survivors. Survivors can not be hit multiple times by a single crow. (Simple words: Crows bounce between survivors like chain lightning if they hit.)
-
It should work point blank. Non zig-zaging lines, direct to the face puke correct?
-
From a glance, a lack of hooks. Entertain the entity sir knight. Or pray for non swing happy survivors.
-
As the above said, dodge chains and be mindful of the box. The whole team needs to be mindful of the box and where pinhead is as him getting the box is always bad. The box from what I remember spawns furthest away from everybody, including larry. Basically your playing keep away with a very dangerous toy.

I am not a 1-1 expert on every killer, but I have experience playing them all, I have every tome challenge and achievement in the game completed. I even play 13 other killers aside from my main with a good degree of skill and higher understanding and my main is also Wraith. I talk about this subject from a reasonable vantage point of knowing just how hard playing a Good Wraith is compared to other killers. When I play Wesker, winning is hardly as difficult, but I find it less rewarding as it is the skill ceiling of the harder killers that I quite enjoy improving at.
I've also lost enough games against TERRIBLE nurses and blight's for no other reason than the fact that they are a nurse or blight and my team is not a "really" coordinated swf, but most other killers that lacking would lose otherwise.
I never can have a proper discussion about this with the community and people often misunderstand the subtle difference between actual tier placement, difficulty to learn a killer and difficulty to "master" a killer and it's the last one in my mind that really sets apart good players from bad.
We don't doubt your experiences, but we've also had our own (since doc came out) playing everyone as well. We didn't mean to offend if we did, all we're saying is that we think the order is odd.
To give an example with (what we assume to understand) is your logic is nurse. High floor sure, but her ceiling isn't and once you reach it it's not as satisfying to kill ppl as say hag and we agree.
Then take twins. While not as high as nurses floor or ceiling wise, it's still up there to master herding survivors into victor or Charlotte and downing them in a timely manner and is satisfying to do. We can't say she's base good as bleet or nurse but it's more satisfying to succeed with her while still taking skill to pull off the tricks you can do with them and takes similar knowledge as trapper to herd ppl, except you got 1 "trap" in their case (admittedly a mobile one). This is also Abit opinion based but still stands to some reason no?

Best: Kate cause we say so
Worst: Laurie cause she brought Object of Obsession into the game

That sounds like throw your hands and give up to me. Its sad because I've been playing this game since 2018 and its always been a come back to game for me. But once something better comes along I don't think I will be coming back and that is what is going to happen to this population. When all they had to do was create 2 environments. Give the players a challenge or play casually not just 90% lost rate. To respond back to the op hes right "This SBMMR is a joke"
It's more "holding out for a hero" deal. We can't think of a practical working solution, but maybe something will happen sooner or later. But splitting categories is at best a solution that will last a month before people spoil it.
-
@BloodBird said:
@Rulebreaker Well, half of the game when it comes to any killer is anti-loop techniques, and unfortunately with M1 killers like the ones in the hard category, even knowing those is often not enough, you require a higher level of play and understanding of the game to actually be able to play those killers to a comparable win percentage that the higher tier killers can achieve much more easily. While yes trapper is straightforward in terms of you place traps and all that. It takes a complex level of play to learn how to strategically place traps and successfully force or funnel survivors into them lest you are nothing more than an M1 machine which would require insane levels of skill to be very successful at.
A lot of the easy killers are ones where the complexity of the killer is quite low and the difficulty in reaching their potential high quite achievable as they do not suffer a lot of the drawbacks as M1 killers do.
The killers in the middle tiers are ones that have a degree of difficulty in learning all there is to know about how to make them useful and vary in how rewarding it is for doing so. You will notice that nurse and blight are not labelled the easiest, but it is not that difficult to play a decent one, the reward for even being average with those killers is super high. However a Spirit while also highly rewarding is still quite difficult to master as the reliance on sound limits a lot of players without really good headsets and is a skill most players are not adept at utilizing in the first place.
Thank you for the explanation. Admittedly we still disagree with the placements but now we know the logic behind them clearer.
-
Since we didn't reply to the op we felt bad
There's nothing that can be done to please both sides. If the devs push a casual direction, the competitive will complain and vise versa. We think the best is a middle ground and putting up with the rest as it'll at least keep the game alive and (semi) healthy.

If survivors decide to disconnect and kill themselves on Rank System. Phone a friend because I don't think this will ever get fixed.
If killers decide to camp/tunnel/run toxic builds it is their right too. It is highly competitive for a reason and its strategy as behavior has said time and time again.
So then what ends up is both sides having nothing fixed while being split for longer ques that still have the same troubles.
