Yeah I’m aware that his addons are broken as people say they are…but how does he function like without addons….. I’m sorry if what I’m saying doesn’t make any sense btw
We're not the best at explaining either so don't worry
Without add ons most agree that he's fine because he has what amounts to interactive play thats fair on both ends. He's got mobility and a second way to hit, a CD and condition so he can't spam or abuse his power, and remove obstacles quickly. Survivors can play around his power as well by reacting or through the environment so it's not hopeless for them and they're interacting with the killer more in depth.
With add ons effectively "plays" the same but add ons reduce or remove most the "fairness" of the base kit.
A blight main could probably explain it better but this is the best we got
-
The general chatter (surprisingly from both sides) is that all his add ons are really good and turn him from balanced into op (this is a largely diluted translation from our brains mind you). EX: "Both speed add ons make it impossible to react".
For what it's worth, we personally don't give a damn about his add ons and only think they need looked at because both sides are agreeing.

Damn, you got us!
For long I keep telling that I appreciate anything a survivor does besides a gen. But many of my fellow killers look at me in a funny way when I say that.
Otherwise I try to fulfill both requirements in op's question by playing Clown. :P
Dang that's smart...
-
Would love ink dragons as a dragon artist~
-
We can not agree strongly enough
-
We're more leaning to event currency. Each major event has an in-game currency to earn which can be used to get new and old event cosmetics. That way everyone effectively "earns" them.
-
I think we'd genuinely feel Abit guilty killing off the Scooby gang....

Usually I give an example to each perks meaning so
Iron Maiden: Survivor's are leaving their house because their want ice cream
The Calm add-ons are supposed to be the sound of the ice cream truck music
Distressing: The volume of the music for the ice cream truck is louder for them to hear
Infectious fright: a survivor got served some ice cream and everyone else is jealous.
Ohh in that case:
Distressing for the music
Iron maiden for the homes or for the truck freezer
Deathbound for friends wanting to get ice cream together
And fourth variable:
Surge/eruption for survivors remembering about the ice cream man. Also adds screams.
Franklins for survivors to have hands for the ice cream.
Infectious fright for your reasoning above.
-
Way ahead of ya mate. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on view) 90% of the time we do call em out they try (emphasis on try) to turn it on us. They simply refuse to either learn or change. We do wish you luck on your mission though.
-
We would argue for everyone becoming exposed until someone gets hit if no one is dead or on hook. No totem, a 1 time use that can help turn a match or push greed. It's still possible for survivors to outplay and can't be (horribly) abused that we can tell. Then again, we only spent 10ish min thinking about it.
-
Object of Obsession causes you to enter the dying state every 30 seconds.
-
Variable. Unless its a pallet we want out ASAP (which we will then happily eat it), we might respect it, we might disrespect it, or we'll leave while the survivor drops it anyway. Depends on our mood.
-
Aesthetically, a toss between Midwitch or old RPD. Midwitch is one of the few that still give off that creeping feeling in this game while looking great while the RPD looked fantastic on release. It played miserable but it looked nice.
-
Ultimate weapon, Hex: face the darkness, thwack, and choice of infectious fright, dragon's grip, or dark devotion. The first 3 are obvious for the screams while the last one is either for more screams or confusion and surprises (its strangely hilarious hitting the obsession with dark devotion then opening a locker and hearing everyone scream across the map). Maximize TR with add ons and all set.

Yes. I made it my mission a few games i was running it where if we knew dragons grip was in play. I would just run around with calm spirit/vigil stopping the regressing gens with a lesser exposed time. Very good against ultimate weapon to since it recovers you from timed statuses faster. And really any duration based effect addon. I think even hinder from stuff like nemesis and clown bottles.
Should also keep in mind that taping the gen starts the cd timmer, so if the killer is paying attention, they may b line back to the gen.

The first post states "if a unhooked survivor gets in my way"
That says they were near a hook. It doesn't say why. There is so seldom a good reason to be around the hook. Almost always (Note, almost was stated) it is just laziness.
BBQ and Chili shows you so many targets the moment you hook a survivor.
Ultimate Weapon allows you to open a locker and hunt the map looking for a target.
etc, etc, etc...
It is super easy to hook and find someone new to chase in the current state of the game.
Just so we read that right, none of those perfectly valid reasons means anything? That's effectively what we read.
-
Checked the wiki and this hasn't been a thing, atleast according to it and our memories (which admittedly isn't the best for reliability)
-
To our knowledge, they never blocked down pallets.

If Myer’s Tombstone was basekit with much shorter stalk time required, it would no doubt be massively abused. Would you be saying it was a player problem as well?
Yes, we would. While that situation is ALSO a game balance problem, it's not mutually exclusive to being a player problem.
You also fail to give any solution to said problem which can be simplified to "how to get people to stop being $$$$$?" At least that is the question of the topic at hand.

They aren’t, you just don’t like what I am saying. Same with those showering you with upvotes. An echo chamber indeed.
Your last 5 discussions at least say otherwise.
As for the topic at hand, what would you propose? Generally we fight to the end because nothing is set in stone till survivors are out the gate (or all on hook). Your complaints as we see are indeed a problem with the players and we are unsure as to how you propose to stop that behavior.
-
If we get only one from both sides it would be franklins. We really do just love making survivors drop items, then we watch as many choose their item over their life.

I'm still waiting on these MFs and I will continue waiting until they get in
We need more out-of-the-box killers and licenses honestly
How the heck would they add a Malzeno? Don't get us wrong, we want one BAD but that would seem abit much for fairness....
-
For the sake of [BEEPING] closure. From our understanding:
Batusalen: You are arguing that increasing the kill rate for killers will give both sides a 40% win rate average eventually. Your saying that first buffs to the kill rate then nerfs accordingly on an individual basis to effectively try and hammer the win rate to 40%.
Firellus: You wanted an detailed answer on how increasing the kill rate will lower the win rate, probably in a more immediate time frame. At the moment, we not honestly sure what you want. You and the OP have shown that a 60% kill rate does not always equal to a 40% win rate and want to know how Batusalen's method would work.
Are we understanding this correctly?
Four our own 4 cents to at least be semi on topic: We think how sided it is depends on how many sided maps there are as most our harder matches are determined more by map/killer combination than survivors themselves. (Barring occasionals)
-
...Honestly we don't know why we bothered trying as this is the point where both have lost the point of the discussion.

See? I explain, in detail, how you get to a 60% kill rate and that would be the only way that lead to an equal 40% win rate for everybody, and his response is:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3555457#Comment_3555457
Should I really need to explain it to him again? Should I make him an sketch to see if he understand it better? Or should I just assume that however I explain it to him he would still not understand for the simple reason that his bias makes him not wanting to understand and move on?
So I'm not going in circles, I'm just taking option 3. He has the answer to his question posted multiple times already in this thread, he can re-read them the times he needs. In fact, the post above his has the answer simplified.
At this point, yes. Especially since we've only seen anything remotely resembling an actual answer to his question way after the fact.

If you read the responses that specially @Firellius are making to me explaining in detail why BHVR wants that number and why it is having the game balanced a hundred times already, you would see that obviously it is not even enough to simply say that is what it should be.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3554949#Comment_3554949
I already responded to you: I already explained everything multiple times. If you still doesn't get it, you should first learn what an average is and what it represents, second stop merging all killers in the same bag when you should see each one of them as an individual thing in terms of balancing with survivors being a whole entity as every survivor play exactly the same gameplay wise, and third keep re-reading all what I said until you get what I really said and meant.
If after all that you keep not understanding it, it's your fault and something is preventing you from seeing reality. I can't do anything more for you.
We recommend actually answering Firellus' question as we believe otherwise you 2 are going to keep going in circles.
-
Its abit of a mixed bag from us. Somethings are better, while others aren't. Regardless, we're playing less because we wan't to play other things on occasion.
One claw, new killers, map, and perks to play around with. No true infinites to deal with and alot of bs is cut down.
The other claw, 85% or so of the players we see are effectively the same thing. Alot of little things that made matches more varied are gone (flashlight burns, dark map offerings, etc)
We do believe its possible to have fun on one side even with an unfair advantage to a certain extent, but it needs to be a "fair" unfair advantage (perfect english... but its hard to explain for us. Think hard games that have some bs but its a know factor... again hard to explain)
-
In game terms: Mostly ignore them, wait for an opportunity, or make one, and for us we start playing "mean". A person following you with a flashlight is 1 less on a gen which gives you a bit more time. Keep the weakest link down then go after the flashlight boy or someone else whos actually working and reduce their resources as fast as possible so when you need to chase someone they have a dead-zone. Trick them by acting like your gona pick up and turn back and twack their head or face walls if possible.
In practical terms: As the above said, remember its a game online. Don't let others get to you, especially people you don't know and ultimately don't mater. We know its harder doing that than saying it, but once they stop mattering then a lot of stressors disappear. (Though maybe try and reserve some empathy for obviously nice ppl please)
-
For us it's rotten fields and ormonds. We can't ever find things to bounce off when we need it on the field and we have slid off shack's wall before on ormonds and have since stopped trying to learn collision there.

I am not saying don't tunnel , i am just asking is there anything which makes you think about not tunnel or fear about it.
Like old DS kinda did that.
Going by this definition no we don't. Survivors have effectively beaten out any sort of concern during the unbreakable/locker forced to eat DS phase. After that era, only one thing will get any negative reaction out of us anymore.

We favor the killer role more. You don't need to rely on anyone but yourself and are in charge of your entertainment. Teammates can't do something to put you in a worse place, you can fight to control the flow of the match easier than as a survivor, and killers have unique powers instead of being perks and skins.
-
.... We really can't resist saying Nicolas Cage for a very obvious reason X)
-
We're fans of Silent Hill so our top vote goes to Cheryl/James. Though if we had to pick an original it'd probably be David or Mikayla, they usually get cosmetics we like.

the road doesnt even have a 3gen. the real 3gen is by gallows, if you are stupid lucky then you can stand still and see them all. that one specific 3 gen needs to go but the others are fine.
We've had a configuration where there were 3 gens lined up effectively on the road twice. I remember it vividly cause it was also against a huntress. Regardless your helping out point here.

As survivor? I wouldn't say so, he'd be better suited as the killer. But since Taylor would be so overwhelmingly perfect for that role, that leaves him without a slot to fill.
Would be hilarious though ~ but we kinda just latched onto a Worm chapter and thought of a killer so our bad.
-
... admittedly it would be hilarious to have, but it would ultimately ruin the game unless it had EXTREMELY restricted uses. Even then it's probably a bad idea to have it in the game.

major skill and/or soloq issue
3 gens all in a line on the road....not a problem....
-
@jesterkind said:
What I really want to see and what's realistic are two wildly different things, alas.
For instance, I would love to see a Worm chapter with Khepri as the killer. Figuring out a survivor for that chapter would be hard anyway, so it'd fit as a killer-only thing.
That won't ever happen, though, so for things that are likely... I'm not sure, tbh. It'd be funny if it were FNaF just because the forums would completely explode, but I don't have any horse in that race enough to actually want it.
Jack Slash works well enough we'd hope
Topic at hand: we want the Sci Fi horror train to Keep going, so we're hoping for a predator or Terminator or the like
-
While we split between survivor and killer, we usually have fun for each. We even more often have fun as killer because as survivor the killer has an easier time making the game miserable for a survivor and we can punish anything survivors try to ruin our fun as killer.
-
We don't really care either way but just for the fun of it:
Pros:
- One less thing for killers to remeber/focus on
- Makes it easier for killers who want to rotate or not tunnel (sorta ties into the above)
Cons:
- Makes it easier to tunnel in certain situations (Ex: 4 of the same claudettes)
- Will cause the unreasonables to call "tunnel" more
-
Ehh, somewhat. It really only shows you where its "safe" to loop, basically turning off abit of memory and luck. It maters more what you do with it than you running with it and while we think its abit of a crutch, we can't deny its usefulness across all levels.
-
A lot of matches has made us lose a lot of the empathy we had...
Depends on the situation and our mood, but we usually just slug them since we only tunnel if we have a reason such as the unhooker leaving them for the crows after unhooking next to us.
-
While we've never felt anxious about playing, we can say to stop feeling it is alot in the mentality. When we play we're a hunter and are fighting to stay at the top and if some of the prey escapes every now and again, so be it. Remember its a game not real life or death, a win or loss won't really matter. Learn what you like as killer and find a way to make it work. And if your worried about them harassing you, as the Count above said, anonymous mode is a thing.
-
For us:
From the Void she kills [3 blinks with a grab is hard enough, doing it while trying to learn nurse was painful]
Outbreak Breakout [It's just a pain in the ***. No excuses for it.]
Skilled Huntress [Can aim fine even on controller, but we don't notice little things like trees or walls or buildings when we "lock on"]

It's only because I win pretty often 😋
Unless I play Hag, Wraith, Trapper, Billy, ...
Try as survivor when 2/3 others decide to try and yeet off the hook :{

@drsoontm said:
I got that often. Always when I'm dominating.
I don't get a DC penalty though so I suspect it's the server croaking.
This, though on a conspiracy note, we seem to only get that when winning, never when losing...
-
We play everyone sans nurse, though our favorite is Artist. No killer that has come out has been similar to og Freddy and if they did reverse to og Freddy, we'd happily put him in our top 5 picks. He had drawbacks but also strange strengths and was very unique.
-
Twins and Freddy. We don't see them often (especially the twins) but each one recently has been high prestige.
-
Because we like to play the game?
