  • Still the only thing in the game that GENUINELY gets under our skin. We HATE that perk before and now. Irrational it may be, but we'd trade old DH and DS to have it and it's concept deleted forever.

  • Jason, Slenderman, and Pennywise are the only ones left that we grew up with and really want to see. We're welcome to surprises though.

  • The only thing we hate about demo is how nearly every demo uses effectively the same build (stbfl, 2 regression [regression not slows], and a misc, usually another regression or sloppy). A friend and one of us had called what perks 3 demos were running with perfect accuracy before 5 minutes into the trial. Not even the same demo, but 3 different players with the same damn build. Add ons included.

  • Wiretap, fogwise, draumatology, plot twist, the bomb you place on pallets (forgot the name), potential energy, reassurance, better than new, there's more but we're leaving it there.

  • We're going to join the echo chamber of no. Hell no.

Everyone above has said the practical reasons.

  • As long as they don't go overboard (if RE gets 5 chapters we're going to be sore about it) and make them good then hell yes to one and all horror.

  • Going bullet by bullet, these are our opinions:

    • We don't really feel the grind much. Between offering, events, and the rift, we're usually sitting over the cap until someone new comes out.
    • We definitely are willing to try this out. We'd love to see nothing effect gen speed, though probably should make it a test week or something.
    • Yes and no. Yes in that to much dull content will lead to unnecessary bloat and bugs. No in that new content keeps the game going fresh..er. It would be nice for the devs to slow down a tad and focus on either health or balance.
    • The horror can still be here, but it's on the killers to make it. We don't really blame them though as it requires more effort and occasionally tossing, plus the usual way survivors react when they're winning doesnt really give any incentive to give them a scare.
    • We were under the impression that was the point? So people would by characters instead of waiting on the shrine.
    • Out of those killers we only think twins REALLY needs something. At best blights add ons could used looked at but that's because BOTH sides are agreeing on something. We're outliers though.
    • ....yea the hit boxes could use a look. Though in fairness, only huntress hatchets seem to have funny hits, least in our experience.
  • For us it's probably around 3 4 3. If we get the chance we'll play with friends and a few are still very active but otherwise it's based off daily rifts and mood.

  • We're voting for hiding till the end.

If shown before, people will lobby shop based on that. We all know why that's bad hopefully.

Others may decide to go full "full sweat mode" based on 1 person being prestige 100 despite all of them being a lot less serious about the match. Sure SOMETIMES a p100 is an excellent survivor, but usually it only denotes time/bloodpoints spent on the character. Admittedly hiding the prestige might cause a person to go "full sweat", but then they'd be likely do it if they DID see a p100.

The worst thing hiding it does it bruising people's ego. Hiding it till the end helps more than it hurts.

Again, the strength of SWF is not communication anyway. Furthermore, you cannot really do anything about it.

But, because I like to waste my time, I will explain why Ingame-Voicechat is bad.

    1. There are already alternatives (Discord), so people who already play together would not use the BHVR-version. So this means, if the game would be balanced around SWFs on Comms for every game (and nobody knows how to do this btw.) and a Solo is playing with a 3 man-SWF, they will be at a disadvantage because the three Survivors can communicate, the Solo not.
    2. Language Barriers. I know that people in the USA dont really think of that because Americans have a hard time to imagine that there are other countries outside of the US. But, language barriers exist. Not everyone speaks English, especially in Europe. I know from my RL-experiences that some countries have troube with English. E.g. Spain or Italy (even tho it got better). And sometimes French people refuse to speak English. And in Postgame Chat you sometimes see people starting to write in their native Language, which is fine, but not really suitable for ingame-communication. And the same like Number 1... If three German Solo-players are in the game and they start talking German, what should the one Italian-player do? They would be at a disadvantage.
    3. Streamers would have to opt-out of Voice Chat. If you are a Streamer who plays Solo-Survivor, you will be at a disadvantage. You cannot really participate in Voice Chat with random people, because it might mean that someone of them is throwing around slurs that the Twitch-Account might be at risk. And even without slurs, I would not like to watch a Stream where a 14yo with a 5 Dollar-microphone is screaming the whole time.
    4. Some people just dont want to talk to other people. Whether it is the mentioned 14yo old with the cheap Headset, or simply because you want to play immersed and enjoy the Solo-Experience. Those people would be at a disadvantage.
    5. Last but not least - even if all of the above dont apply and a person is using the Ingame Voice Chat, is able to understand English, is a nice person and nothing of the above... This does not mean that it will actually help to have them on Comms. Because, as I said before, Comms are not the strength of SWF. It is filtering out bad players. You can tell other what to do as much as you like, but it does not mean that they follow it. So even if point 1-4 are not an issue, Voice Chat might not do anything because that person wants to cleanse Totems all game or just plays in a way that they are overly stealthy and not productive.

To close this - I dont think that SWF is a problem. Because 99% of the SWFs people encounter are just normal players who want to have fun. If players say they go against highly coordinated teams all the time, they are lying. Or, they think they are highly coordinated teams because they themselves are not as good as they think they are. (For a bad player even mediocre players look good)

I have 9k hours and I have encountered a tournament team once. And teams where I felt helpless maybe a handful (and some of them were Solos). So I highly doubt that SWFs are such an issue for others. From my experience it is usually just friends playing together.

Aside from the jab at us <.< This sums up the voice chat issue thoroughly. So please people, stop suggesting it.

If you are unwilling to show your gameplay, why should anyone else? You don’t believe OP’s experience without evidence. We are just supposed to take you at your word but not OP?

Your intent seems clear. If OP posts gameplay, I have little doubt you will dissect their gameplay and put the blame on them.

Yes. I do think Killer is awful now. You think it is fine, as do most people here.

Don’t think I have any grudges on these forums. Not remotely worth it.

1: if you were talking about us wanting to see gameplay of these super fast gens, it was a general statement, not specifically op.

2: at the moment our word is worth ad much as OP. Neither of us have posted evidence.

3: Our intent was wanting to see this gameplay. Whether or not we dissect it depends on how bored we are at the time and what we see determines who gets the "blame".

You seem to want to reach for assumptions at us so let us be very clear. You know NOTHING about us. Wait until we do something to warrant assumptions as this is just rude to us. We have no malicious intent to the OP.

4: Since you're conclusion is established, then WE'RE going to assume nothing is going to change your mind. Are we wrong?

5: you didn't even acknowledge C3Tooths results. Or give any recommendations for recording. Admittedly this point is Abit out of spite.

So your whole point is for the devs to just continue to do nothing? SWF continues to get access to free information, voice chat, and co-ordination and Solo remains miserable forever and has to use up perk slots to get that same information that SWF gets for free?

This forum is a damn joke. People constantly complaining while offering no ideas on how to help the situation. Just constant negative responses about any opinion or idea.

Firstly, welcome to the forums for general discussions

Second and more on point, no one has suggested something that would work without causing unnecessary or detrimental chaos (the not fun kind at that). The closest thing is more emotes which you and others have already said.

Currently swfs largest advantages comes from outside the game. What are they going to do? Without causing that's **** storm

Survivors do need to get out of their comfort zone and try different perks. People scoff at Aftercare but I've saved so many teammates with this perk, it should be illegal to have constant aura reading 90% of the match.

It is illegal, we need to delete Object asap.....please? We'll beg and play pig so ppl can boop out snoot for 100 matches....

Side note anyone know why we're not getting notifications anymore?

  • Thanks for the test run... despite how depressing the results are.

For us it's more random. Usually the one BMing is the one who wants us to chase them into the strongest loop. Doesn't matter who or how we play (we don't really try until angered, but we're naturally very aggressive as killer normally) but 9/10 it's always the one trying to keep agro who's BMing the whole match.

But wouldn't that just make maps the issue and not really the offerings? Because they tend to be heavily one sided it is problematic if you get send to a specific map, otherwise it would not matter... So if maps were balanced map offerings would be just for aesthetic reasons?

    Basically what LordGlint said.

We don't want maps to effectively be the same so we accept some maps will help/harm certain killers as long as it's down to RNG. But the offerings force the map unless another offering fights it.

It’s pretty clear you would simply tear it apart with the intent of concluding it’s a skill issue to back up your already established conclusion that Killer is fine.

Wouldn’t mind seeing some of yours though.

Someone seems to be holding a grudge for something ~

First: any recommendations for recording programs as we (more accurately I) now upgraded and probably CAN record now.

Second: A LOT of the time when gens pop like that when we play, it happens because WE PLAYED BAD. When survivors screw up they tend to die fast, when we screw up they tend to escape. Not rocket science right?

Third: We see a lot of ppl moaning about things such as this yet no one shows. All talk, which is fair enough to call us out on but double standards are being applied here. Ask for theirs too so we can ALL see. If it's genuinely skill we'll call it, if it's something they could do better we'll suggest, if we're wrong we'll admit as such. Don't assume you know what our conclusions are when WE don't even know. (And there's 3 of us to boot)

Thanks but 2 issues. I asked for gameplay footage and from someone other than you.

This doesn't mean ANYTHING at all? Really?

And 5th: You yourself seem to have a established conclusion of killer is horrible right now. Are we wrong?

  • The closest thing to unfair is probably map offerings. Maps can heavily swing the game in favor of one side depending on whos killer, but is still "balanced" by being rng. Offerings throw that to the curb.

  • We'd rather not spam this so we're doing 1 each.

Almost all perks are good and people are calling them trash cause they don't know how to play with anything other than regression.

Every killer can win against "high MMR" squads if they work for it. And the reverse is true that survivors can pull comebacks even against the likes of nurse.

Solo Q isn't as bad as most claim.

    @Nun_So_Vile said:

It's hard to decipher whether these are hot takes or just plain shitposting.

Freddy deserves every nerf he gets until the end of time (or DBD 2 releases, whichever comes first), including his recent bugfix.

MFT more like MidFuckinTrash (how is it that skilled killers have no issue closing distance or getting me down in seconds with this perk 🤔)

Now that we have Chucky (who is on record for having series called silly by a BHVR rep), FNAF will be around the corner

Add an option for survs to kick Chucky like Victor (Roll d20 to see if Chucky stabs them and takes a health state when they kick)

Make Ruin a regular perk and not a Hex

Admittedly ours might be bit of both...

  • We would really like to see some of these matches. Not comp or tourney or anything as such, just random in the wild matches where this happens.

  • @Lobos said:

I agree the HUD is useful but just knowing where the killer is and knowing where other survivors are from a simple voice call out is the most important advantage a SWF has.

Why should only SWF groups have access to that important information for free? Just because they are friends or found each other on a SWF discord group? Solo Survivors are playing the game the way it was meant to be played. They shouldn't be punished for that, they should be rewarded and given an incentive to play Solo because it is miserable and has been for a long time.

We do not see what can realistically be done about it. Adding basekit perks and voice coms leads to our previous point. Adding an "incentive" in effect deters people from playing with their friends (and yes friends, not everyone found swfs in a discord specifically for that) which is effectively a "punishment" by with holding something simply from being in a group, whether in duos or squads. (personally thinking of them as various carrots and sticks) and players will more than likely drop. What we can say is that bhvr is doing a decent job bridging that gap (shocking but true) and solo isn't that bad. At the very least due to SWFs and such.

  • @Lobos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581538#Comment_3581538

Because using the logic you're using, Solo players are already being "punished" for simply not playing with other people. A SWF group already has the advantage by being able to communicate with each other.

Giving Solo players the same information that a SWF group already has does nothing to the group but help coordination that is lacking between the two right now.

I do agree with you that voice comms for all could be used for harassment at first. But by reporting and simply muting/blocking, or actually being able to speak to each other and hear the emotions of other people, would help overall.

While somewhat true, there's an important detail that's being left out. The biggest advantage is coordination which almost always comes from a source OUTSIDE of dbd itself.

Currently the only real info that we can think of (in trial) is where the killer, where survivors are, how close the door to being opened is, and what's been used (pallets and boxes). Everything else is effectively covered by the hud (and the door is a good guess away). Adding something like base kit bond would give more info than a single call out, NOT humoring base Object, base kit windows would make normal windows useless. Idk if we're missing something but it kinda goes like that for our eyes.

As the voice chat, should we go down that rabbit hole, bhvr would be swarmed with reports for years. MAYBE after that time it could help, we won't argue that, but that's after causing a mess that's avoided simply by not being added. Overall we're going to disagree on adding this, but that's just our opinion on it.

  • @Lobos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581525#Comment_3581525

No, a punishment for playing with Friends would be nerfing or removing SWF. They already have a comms/information advantage. Adding comms for Solos doesn't hurt friend groups at all.

The emote/chat wheel is for all players not just solos..

Almost every multiplayer game has a voice chat with mute options and it works just fine. (This game will never be worse than old Call of Duty lobbies.) You mute and/or report troublemakers. If they get mad and throw the game because of that they are immature and the outcome of the trial would be exactly the same as it is right now..

How does adding base perks only for solos not punishing playing with friends? That's making something exclusive to one type of play.

We're going to hard disagree on matches would be the same. This game may not be as bad as old CoD lobbies, but it's unnervingly close. There WILL be a massive uprising of tossing for petty reasons. This may be a doomsday crazy talking but it has a lot of evidence to make it seem REALLY plausible.

  • We have 2

1 is obviously forever Freddy cause we felt challenged when everyone saying it didn't exist anymore. (Pop, dying light, thano, currently brine)

2 is what we call dream Freddy. Plaything, trail of torment, sloppy, pop (thinking of switching it to something else but don't want hysteria or Dark devotion). Basically we don't want a heartbeat while the survivors are awake and can keep ambushing them.

  • @Lobos said:

The way to solve the SWF communication problem is by first buffing Solo Queue Survivor and ONLY Solos so it nullifies the SWF comm advantage and then buffing killers to match that strength after.

(The game already knows and tracks when players are in a SWF and when they are Solo when joining a lobby.)

So you either give basekit perk info ONLY to players joining lobbies alone, add a emote/chat wheel (with enough choices to communicate effectively), or just add a global voice chat for Survivors with a mute option for the players that don't want to use it. Just like every other multiplayer game that needs teamwork to be successful has used.

The first would be effectively punishing players for playing with friends and if there's a duo and 2 solos, the solos have added an advantage for the duo.

The second again makes it seem that play with friends is being punished if the emotes are only accessable to solos. Admittedly it might work out the best though if for all.

The 3rd would be a nightmare to have. Either it's on and you're listening to grownup children yell for petty reasons or you mute them and have them become the worst teammates you can have out of spite for muting the chat.

  • @Z0mbiv0r said:

Thing is, most of the times, there was at least one survivor trying to prevent me from hooking their teammates, which in turn was downed, so while I was hooking that one, they rescued the other. How in heavens could they still do gens so fast and efficiently? And I doubt it's high MMR because survivors are actually quite bad. Damn, when I play survivor and on the rare ocassion I loop the killer for a couple minutes, one, maybe two gens get repaired at most.

That's 3 survivors accounted for but the 4th can still do gens uninterrupted. Again depends on what each survivor was doing, we'd need to spectate the match to see for ourselves.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Then we'll ask for buffs to the weaker perks

Bloodhound, Predator... could use the buff but IDK how to buff them

Bloodhound could get bloodlust faster while Predator could have haste while not in chase following scratch marks. Since everyone is on the speed topic this seems fitting no?

  • @Paternalpark said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581408#Comment_3581408

No they can all be trash, like scene partner.

If they are all trash make the killer weaker ie faster gens, less bloodlust.

If they are all good make the killer stronger. All the perks are good so it doesn't matter the killer is stronger. BUT we now have a variety of perks that make games more diverse.

So you want diversity, in which case it's back to the player base fault. As it currently stands, 90+% of perks are serviceable but people refuse to run them.

  • Depends on how the survivors worked on the gens. There's 4 people and if atleast someone is working, gens will pop. If each time they were on a different gen, then they can pop one after another.

  • @Paternalpark said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581396#Comment_3581396

100% it needed tweaking. But not gutting like it had. Coh is actually still insane for sfw but for soloq coordination it's mid.

Then you get threads complaining about swf pre stacks to be disabled instead of enabling it on soloq...

Why remove content when you could add it??

This is why the game is so stale.

We might have lost track of something so apologies if we're off.

What we're understanding is that you don't want ANYTHING nerfed below a certain point. This point however seems to be REALLY high. Killers will have to deal with whatever perk up to 4+ times a match depending on what and how it works.

Ex: if 4 survivors ran DH and used it each time then the killer has to deal with it 8 times that match at maximum. Now imagine that on something super good, it's not gonna be a fun time for the average killer.

Now if they buffed killer to MATCH that, then the average survivor will probably run that perk just to stand up to the killer. The game will get stale quickly or go 180 and keep buffing both into broken.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581350#Comment_3581350

The difference is that killers would need to run exhaustion perks just to turn off a single perk compared to sloppy that can be dealt fine without healing perks.

Killers can't just avoid putting survivors into the injured state and it's not reasonable for killers to just not chase injured survivors.

1 they also often have add ons which are easily gained.

2 sloppy is just as easy to deal with as MFT to us. No heal perks, takes longer to heal through sloppy which is dangerous against almost all killers. No exhausted perks or add ons, takes longer to chase an injured survivor. And when chased to a dead zone they still go down relatively quickly. Yes we see it like this and have DEALT with it like such.

3 some killers do infact ignore the injured state by instant down (or in Meyers case death).

4 Sometimes it's the smart thing to not chase an injured survivor immediately. Especially if that survivor is smart enough to go to a strong area and smart enough to use it.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581341#Comment_3581341

Sloppy only works on M1s, survivors can heal each other, and survivors have access to perks to increase healing speeds.

Not to mention the killer is a 1 player team facing a 4 player team.

Sloppy isn't a problem like MFT was.

If we are going by that logic, killers have access to add ons and perks that inflict exhausted, which last the trial. This would turn off MFT.

  • This is probably the equivalent of screaming at the wall but we'll do it again anyway.

Survivor perks aren't useless. Some are situational, come can be countered, some have restrictions, but almost all do their job and do it well.

Its the survivors fault that they're unwilling to try anything else or learn anything other than get into the killers face to try and fail looping for 5 gens.

This also applies to killers. Look at how many times people run 3-4 slowdowns. Heck since ST came back we've seen at least 4 different demos with effectively the same build back to back. There ARE more things than slowdowns, but ppl still only really use them instead of learning to play with others.

You probably should be blaming players for playing the same thing rather than perks.

  • So let's ask the obvious question of what CAN they do that won't cause a storm?

  • We approve very much, though we think you forgot the one who prioritize totems

That's kinda weird to me. I've had games where it goes the OTHER way in which I play TOO aggressive and have to pretend like I didn't see the last guy standing to let the team recover abit. With the changes, it feels like an aggressive style is the way she's suppose to be played since the drones only detect moving targets. You WANT survivors to constantly be running through your minefield. I feel like infectious and UW works well for that.

We can't dictate how they play mate. We only know what we've experienced as survivors.

They kinda do. Doesn't stop people from trying though and it's still usually drawn out for little reason when they do though.

  • @coco_shotz said:

Those of you defending UW show what side you play and how biased you are. Both these perks are problematic because neither requires any real effort. You can't justify searching a locker and having a scream effect in your terror radius for 30 seconds and try to consider that better than MFT. Lockers are more than plentiful on maps and it's not a big time frame to open one and get info on anywhere from 2-4 survivors at a time. Seriously y'all need to learn that everything goes both ways and if you wanna cry MFT is busted (which it is) go ahead, but you aren't entitled to acting as if UW isn't just as problematic.

It's strange how we're biased when we're explaining what you have to do to activate each perk in a meaningful way...

We're not crying anything, heck we (rulebreakers) don't even care about either perk, but saying 1 doesn't have though or effort is incorrect.

What exactly is hated? Is it still just the long games, cuz I barely ever feel the need to kick a gen with her.

It's how people play her. A LOT go for the 3 gen camp or tend to tunnel camp. Basically people play her the most hated ways they can. They gave her a REAL bad reputation.

  • You have to search a locker, which most killers have to go out of their way to do for little reason than to use the perk for 30 seconds which will then go on CD. During those 30 you need a survivor in your terror radius meaning you probably have to move and search the map atleast little for a single scream and blind. All this does near nil during the actual chase.

Old MFT, get hurt and get speed until healed or exhausted with an added bonus of if you heal someone get some endurance.

    Which is more effort?

  • Your allowed to enjoy anyone. Though yes, she's still kinda hated by a lot of ppl.

They're not wrong though (least HugTechLover isn't). Also did you give anything other than a bitter comment to the post? And before you say anything about "X main" we play everyone but Nurse as killer and play survivor just as much.

For the post, the point is to have fun and verity. Playing the same thing over and over gets dull. Obviously some groups are going to spoil anything and everything....(side note, probably should blur out the names, we hear thats something in the rules)
