I have no Legacy but if I did, I surely wouldn't want it to become available for all others. Am I jealous of people with Legacy? 100% I am - that's exactly why they shouldn't become a thing for everyone.
It's something unique that people had to earn back then and I respect everyone with Legacy for going through that grind. (if they got it the legit way, that is)
-
I guess they want to handicap themselves with such a situational perk of only limited use. But NOED also gives a movement speed increase and adds that surprise factor at least on first hit. Additionally, it gives Survivors a reason to stay in the match which could lead to additional hooks / kills if they get greedy.

Yeah I find that very hard to believe.
You find it hard to believe that I reached R5 in about 10 hours? Or what exacty?

In case this isn't bait:
There's a lot of new players since the 4th anniversary, lots of them trying to play like they see it on youtube instead of, well, learning how the game actually works.
so, it's a bit of a gallimaufry right now.
Ahhh well, maybe that's it... But it's not just me, most Twitch streamers I watch also escape quite frequently and Killer streamers that usually 3-4k even end up getting 0k. I saw both Dowsey and Otzdarva getting 0 kills the other day and tru3, well... It seems like he's having a real hard time actually enjoying the game these days unless he plays Survivor. It feels so different now... no Ruin and literally no one is playing Nurse?
but yea at least they removed a few windows to get rid of some strong loops... maybe I was just lucky, let's see how it goes today :)

It's not close to as annoying as it is in DBD, esp when you play with friends here as about 80% of the community does.
Well, yea... but.... you reap what you sow... because guess what? Playing against friends is also annoying.
-
Depending on your build and Killer, low tier Whispers can be more useful than high tier.
Old Devour Hope also used to be better on lower tiers as Survivors would only realize about DH when you already were killing people with it.
-
It's not your fault you're getting tunneled or camped but it's your fault getting found and downed.
In other words; Your incompetence gets you camped or tunneled and nothing else.
-
Oh no, now I'm forced to deal with crybaby survis
-
40 seconds more for both phases, are you out of your mind? Such a suggestion can only come from a biased Survivor main.
-
...but in my opinion I'm not biased :(
-
A good Billy gives me the best experience, even when I get rekt badly.
It's a strange Killer, one match you can absolutely destroy him and the next match you're dead before you even realized ######### just happened. Everything can happen from an easy escape to getting totally owned.
It's not like he's Nurse level, at least not in the same way. A godlike Nurse is almost impossible to beat simply because there is not that much counterplay available. A godlike Billy can still be outplayed by playing good and smart yourself. This makes him a pretty balanced Killer in my opinion.
-
TBH I don't really have a problem with SWF gameplay-wise, I'll just play Billy and I 3-4k at leat 90% of the matches I play if I really want to win. I have a problem with their attitude.
I totally understand you SWFs, you enjoy playing with friends but it's quite hard for me to filter out the good SWFs from the bad ones. And it sure doesn't help when the SWF group itself contains toxic players and fair players, this is really confusing as Killer.
Everyone expects to get their special personal treatment depending on their playstyle, which I'm simply not willing to give you. When I see someone teabagging, flashlight clicking ect. then I will assume the whole SWF group has a toxic mindset and everyone gets to suffer for it. Very often I see the the ladies complain "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, THAT WAS ACE!".
I'm well aware of that but guess what? Ace is part of your SWF. If you want good matches, please make sure all of your friends play in a way that deserves a good match... I often get insulted especially by SWFs because of that and it starts to annoy me.
-
SWFs are just unskilled Survivors that couldn't achieve anything without voice communication. It's the ultimate noob-mode, compareable with a Killer that uses wallhacks.
-
It'S nOt FuN tO pLaY aGaInSt BiLLy!
By that logic, devs should remove SWF because guess what?
It'S nOt FuN tO pLaY aGaInSt SwF!

Yeah I think you have a good point of view .. after all it's only a skin but for killers it's something else
Yes, definitly. Wouldn't it be cool if each Survivor had a special ability that would make them unique? Even if it's just their original perks being more effective on them (or the teachable perks being less effective on other characters), that would already give people a reason to use a specific character rather than just grinding all perks and then use the same character for the next 1000 hours.
-
I'm not upset at all, I have a big smile on my face when they do it and I'll keep that smile on until they die right in front of me.
It's usually the Survivors that get extremly angry and insulting when they have to face the consequences for their actions lol
Sidenote: The sole purpose of teabagging/pointing is (and always has been) to taunt and provoke your opponent. Nothing but logical that it can lead to unpleasant consequences.
-
@DaS_only I wasn't aware of that. The developers should really add that to the tutorial so people know that going for the 4k is considered childish/sweaty, just like disconnecting Survivors!
@thesuicidefox I guess that can actually happen but if we're looking at it from a completly unbiased point of view; in that scenario the Killer is desperate for the 4k and the Survivors are desperate for their escape. All participants are in the same boat, they're all desperate and sweaty and they COULD end the game faster - but they all decide to prolong it.
It's a bit like the old hatch standoffs where Survivors complained about Killers being sweaty for the 4k not realizing they were just as sweaty for their escape :-)
-
How can a Killer drag out a game with two Survivors for 30 minutes?
And I'm still genuinely confused by that comparision. The Killer is supposed to kill everyone, the Survivor isn't supposed to DC to prevent the Killers from getting the 4k.
-
@DaS_only said:
Imo both sides are really acting childish. The one side who DC for their mate and the other side sweating his ass off for the 4k and cries when the DC happens.
Just out of curiosity, if the Killers are considered "sweaty" for wanting a 4k then allow me to ask this question: What are the Survivors that purposely DISCONNECT (and therefore lose all their points) simply to deny the Killers 4k // to ensure the other Survivors escape?
I'm genuinely confused by that comparision. One side is playing the game as they're supposed to (kill everyone) while the others disconnect to prevent them from reaching their goal? But the Killers are the sweaty ones?

There are a few occasions where RNG can have a huge impact.
Most popular one clearly being the (hex) totem spawns - allowing Survivors to nullify one (or more) Killer perk(s) at the start of the match has a huge impact. The hatch and the exit gates can also have a big impact (for both sides) but since those only come into play in lategame you at least had a "fair" match until then.
Then there are some RNG things that usually have less impact but still can be game-changing, such as the items you get from chests, amount of skill checks (esp. with ruin), map & layout or the random kobes.
Overall, I think RNG is not an issue apart from the absolutely horrible totem spawns on certain maps.
-
I think players put too much focus on perks. Maybe the game puts too much focus on perks?
When I started playing back in 2016 I was often confused when people talked about "meta perks". It made no sense to me that a meta exists in a game that offers to much variety.
I always had the impression that to make most use of a team constellation, it makes sense to have a big variety of builds in a team; One focuses on healing and support, another one goes for efficient generator repairs, then someone that uses a build to keep the Killer busy and last one maybe someone that can quickly find traps and totems.
You know, a bit of everything so players actually have a specific job, a responsibility besides blatantly repairing generators until found. When I saw 3 Claudettes in the lobby I'd switch my character to Jake to indicate that I focus on generators. I wasn't aware that people would unlock all the perks with a specific character, I thought players would stick to the original perks and maybe replace one or two perks that they prefer and that's it. Unfortunately, that's not the case. People pick a Survivor and then try to unlock all perks as quickly as possible so the individual Survivors become meaningless - it's just a skin and nothing else... A shame, tbh.
So, I'm glad that it's quite a grind to unlock all perks, otherwise everyone would constantly run around with their lame meta perk loadout that only ruin their own fun.
-
Thank you, this is the only shirtless skin we'll ever need. I don't want the game to be invaded by some horny teens, forget shirtless Myers - give us shirtless clown NOW!

Great to see you understand what a window is. Too bad you don't seem to understand that dbd is a game which isn't even based on realism. Therefore the question isn't - is it realistic to chainsaw people through windows AFTER they've vaulted said window but is it fair and balanced. Remember we're talking about 1 out of 2 survivor defenses and an INSTADOWN.
Should an instadown have priority over 1 out of 2 defenses even though said defense was used already?
The Jane clearly moved to the left side already judging by how she got downed. Therefore my chainsaw hit wasn't fair and balanced but quite simply bull.
Yes, it's fair and balanced as it's the result of poorly timed vaults and nothing else. It's like vaulting a pallet shortly before the Killer reaches it with the chainsaw. The chainsaw will break the pallet and hit you because your timing sucked, simple as that. You failed to get out of the Killers reach in time. You get punsihed for that.
-
I understand that people can get confused when they first see "Exposed" but honestly if you still don't get it after being confronted with it several times... perhaps it's time to realize you're not as smart as you think you are.
-
First we have to make sure everyone understands what a window is; it's a hole in a wall.
Secondly, we have to make sure everyone understands what can be done with a hole in a wall: You can jump through, you can throw things through, you can even grab, hit or reach through it. You can even peak through it and look left or right to see what's going on there!
It's really crazy - try it out! I hope that helps you understand the logic behind it.
-
Billy > Entity > the rest

Brings back good old swizz meme:
-
The most toxic players are usually the biggest losers in real life. Just laugh at them and move on, it's not worth getting upset.
You can try to fight them with intelligence but it will only lead to you losing faith in humanity because of their stupidity.
-
Killers have a terror radius for that matter. So you get enough time to hide / run away before the Killer gets there.
-
Very true.
The thing is, when I don't camp or tunnel I still get gen rushed and looped, often lose the matches and end up with 0-1 kills and then the Survivors laugh about my "lack of skill" because I failed to get more kills.
Then I get tired and start to camp / tunnel to get the kills they're so desperately asking for and then I get insulted as camper / tunneled and incredibly toxic comments like "I hope you get cancer" or "get raped to death" and stuff like that. I know that I can hide the end game chat, that's not my point.
I want to know why the toxic players, mostly Survivors, are like that. Why are they so toxic in every possible way. It's not about gen rushing or looping, camping or tunneling, it's about why insulting players for using such a playstyle in such a horrible way? And why are they not getting punished for that behaviour?
I have never experienced anything like that before, to be it's obvious that both sides are using any playstyle they feel like is most effective in a situation to get the best ouf of it. I just never expected such reactions, it makes no sense to me.
-
That's why there are 4 Survivors in total.
Once you're on the hook you have absolutely no power over the outcome of it (unless you manage to kobe / deliverance) but otherwise you totally rely on the other players of the trial.
You want to be able to make the Killer stop camping / tunneling you, but that's like a Killer asking Survivors to stop looping / gen rushing them. You can't force a playstyle upon other players. You can, however, use playstyles that decrease the chances of getting camped or tunneled by providing a funny gaming experience for the Killer aswell, even if it might result in you having lower chances of escaping. That's exactly what you're asking Killers to do by asking them not to camp or tunnel: lowering their chances of getting kills.
You people keep excusing looping and gen rushing with "the most effective way to play Survivor / get the objective done" but you forget that tunneling / camping can also be the most effective way to play Killer.
------- So why are you insulting Killers for doing so?
-
...another person not being able to read / understand what they read...
-
You must spend a lot of time in front of the computer when your father comes up with such a desperate attempt to keep you from using it.
Farewell.
-
I understand that the meta is looping & gen rushing for an easy, efficient win. That's not my point.
Again, why do exactly those types of Survivors complain about Killers tunneling and camping?
I'm asking the players that insult Killers for using those playstyles why they are insulting them. Why do they think they deserve a Killer that cares about their fun when they don't give a ######### about the Killers fun?
As Killer, I can win over a Survivor easily by just facecamping them, yet that's not what I'm doing because I understand it's not fun for the Survivor, right? So why don't Survivors appreciate that and stop gen rushing/loop in return? They don't give a ######### about my playstyle unless it gets them killed.
-
We can ignore gameplay objectives for a moment and focus on the part that's about "providing a funny gaming experience for everyone", which is something Survivors expect Killers to do but never consider doing the same in return.
- Dealing with loopers and gen rushers is not fun
- Dealing with 4x DS, MoM, Adrenaline is not fun
- Dealing with flashlights and instaheals is not fun
- Dealing with SWFs / Voice Communication is not fun
Now it you think about it, that's exactly what the majority of Survivors is doing on a regular basis, right? It doesn't matter if it's required to win or not, let's just focus on the "fun for the opposite side". Most players claim that they "just play for fun".
Do they play for THEIR fun or do they play for the fun for everyone? Do they consider that their playstyles might not be fun for the Killer? And if they know that, why do they still expect the Killers to care about THEIR fun even though they don't care about the Killers fun at all? And even more importantly, why are they insulting players that don't care about their fun, all while they certainly don't care about random players fun either?
E: Sorry I know I'm kinda late, I was busy the weekend :)
-
@tt_ivi_99 Objectively seen you're right, gens are the only things they can do.
They don't HAVE to repair gens though, there are still totems and chests they can go look for. It's their decision to solely focus on gens, knowing damn well that it triggers Killers and most likely ends up in them camping the first Survivor if 2-3 gens already popped on first hook.
I agree with you, secondary objectives could really help but that would results in longer matches. Longer matches trigger Survivors because it would be significantly harder to escape.
I don't think that's going to happen.
-
Isn't it ironic that now all of a sudden there's silence in here? Now that the only argument "show video proof" is gone? Typical...
-
You sound like a 10 years old kid that just played Killer for the first time.
-
Absolutely. I'm just confused because of all the insults.
It seems my intellectual power is too weak to comprehend.
Two teams playing against each other. One team decides to use playstyles that are quite frustrating and annoying for the other side. So the other side decides to use frustrating and annoying playstyles aswell.
The result? The first team starts to flame the other team because they used frustrating and annoying playstyles AFTER they did so themselves. #########?
-
I feel offended by that comment @Poweas. Where have I been aggressive and insulting? My post was very contructive, based on facts yet the only response I got was "Do you have video proof?" and even after we provided the requested video proof, no argumentation against my post whatsoever took place.
I'm tired of people putting themselves in the spotlight and as soon as people disagree they play the victim card. "Oh no, the Killers ganging up on me".
Believe it or not, there are Survivors out there that are just as tired of the devs ######### decisions like that Legion change, perks like MoM. When I see Survivors getting away thanks to their 2nd chance perks and then rub it in the Killers face as if they were any skilled I can only shake my head. Many Survivors NEED 2nd chance perks to survive and I'm tired of it.
It's insane how many untalented "Gamers" play this game, thinking they're actually good while they get carried by their SWFs and 2nd chance perks. And the Killers? They just have to take it as it comes. If they complain, they're the crybabies?
-
I love you guys, I absolutely love you. Have an aswesome.
@TreemanXD After 2000 hours of playing Dead By Daylight, I indeed have seen plenty of them but since I don't record my matches (unless I'm doing ironman challenges) it's hard to provide video proof.
-
@TreemanXD If you seriously decline the possibility of facing such SWFs, there is no point in further discussing with you. You're trying to nullify a point by asking for a proof that's not even relevant because we all know that it happens. Everyone that plays Killer or plays in 4x SWFs knows that it happens. Farewell.
-
The way you discuss is tiresome. You ignore any relevant arguments and nitpick on details that have minor impact compared to the big picture.
You got video proof of developers not prioritizing Survivors?
-
This is not at all "all about legion", this is a general observation but Legion, without a doubt, was/is a very poorly designed Killer that needed a rework. Someone already said it perfectly though; with these changes they turn them from "annoying crap" into "useless crap", which is pretty accurate in my opinion.
New DS is not an anti tunneling / camping perk. The perk stays active for 60 seconds, that means you can technically repair 80% of a generator and the Killer WILL get punished if they decide to stop you from doing so. That's how poorly designed this game in general is.
60 seconds is a huge time frame considering most matches are more or less over in like 5 minutes. Add MoM to that, borrowed time, adrenaline, dead hard or any other 2nd chance perk and multiply it by 4 and you get an incredibly unbalanced match. And don't tell me "no one is using those perks in combination", I see plenty of SWFs running these exact builds to not just get 2nd chances but effectively 16 chances to escape if combined.
-
Prioritize doesn't mean they're exclusively buffing Survivors, it means they focus more on the experience of Survivors when they balance their game.
It's really easy to see: How many perks exist that help Killers when they mess up? There are only two perks: Unrelenting and arguably NOED.
Now how many perks exist that help Survivors when they mess up? DS, MoM, Adrenaline, BT, SC, DH, Unbreakable,... the list is huge.
To put it simple: The game is designed so that Survivors can be really bad players and still be successful thanks to their perks. Killers often either need to perform good to make use of their perks (examples are PGTW, BBQ, MYC, DH, Dying Light, Franklins, Thanatophobia...) or they need incompetent Survivors (examples are Ruin, Huntress Lullaby, Overcharge, A Nurses Calling, BBQ, NOED, Blood Warden,...).
That means many Killer perks are directly related to the skill level of Survivors. If you face high skilled players, your perks can effectively be nullified. How many Survivor perk exist that can be nullified by the Killer with pure skill? I think there is not a single one. Arguably Dead Hard but it will still give you the boost to win you some distance, you still get the benefit as Survivor.
And this is why they prioritize Survivors. They have the mindset that Survivors, even though they are 4v1, are allowed to mess up - they get perks to make up for it. They get perk that the Killers can't really counter with skill. Killers have no perks that help them when they mess up. Killers have many perks that can be nullified by pure skill.
-
This is a perfect example of how simple-minded Survivor mains are these days.
Killers are getting tired of looping so they complain. Survivors reaction: LOL should we just stand still? As if looping and standing still are the only two possibilities.
Survivors complaining about tunneling. Imagine Killers reaction: LOL should we just stand still? (because according to Survivors logic, that's the ONLY alternative)
...and here comes the irony: IF Killers actually stand still, Survivors will complain about camping.
-
They give us ######### so we give them ######### back, that's how this cruel world works.
-
@popoles said:
Personally, I find Hillbilly mains the most boring to talk to. (Sorry!)
Why? Because Hag mains can tell you some tips on where to set traps, Spirit mains can talk about mindgame counters etc.
But Billy players? Hold M2 and follow the survivor.
Come to think of it, Bubba mains are on par with Hillbilly ones. However, I don't mind them, because Bubba is pretty weak rn.
Have you never wondered how good Hillbilly players deal with looping, being effectively one of the worst (if not the worst) Killer to deal with looping?
-
That's exactly what it seems like.
"Don't take them serious, little Mathieu, they're just making fun of you but it's no big deal! Let them have some fun together!"
But little Mathieu doesn't think it's funny. In fact it makes little Mathieu sad and angry, so little Mathieu react to the bullies in the same way. A bad decision, because now he has to go to therapy because people think he has a serious mental problem for having emotions when getting bullied, something that's totally not natural. It's not the kids that bullied him and had fun doing so, those are totally normal in their head, so it seems.
Little Mathieu slowly starts to develop a serious fear and hate for people. Little Mathieu is on his best way to run rampage soon.
RIP little Mathieu.
