  • Imagine living in 2019, where having emotions makes you a #########.

  • There's two Killers that don't rely on add-ons; Nurse and Hillbilly.

  • @Vietfox said:
I never run DS, except for the memes and when i got the daily of being chased as X survivor for 2 minutes (i main Feng). I don't like one time use or end game perks (except adrenaline).
I got used to do well without it, same as a killer without ruin or noed.
If DS was that good i would run it all the time, but i don't.
I've said it many times, if 4 DS is a problem then increase the wiggle progress needed for each survivor running DS (10 or 15%), problem solved.

That's great if you don't run it! Others run in 24/7, regardless of their dailies.

4 DS is a problem in my opinion, yes. Increasing the required wiggle progress could be a solution and it would be nice if we get the chance to test something like that, just to see if it fixes the issue.

After all, it would still be better than no fix at all.

is not so hard to do it, I did it a couple of times, specially when survs dont get ur seriously and troll around, then u down the ######### out of them lol please show video

Did you really just say that it's not that hard to down a whole team while carrying a survivor on your shoulder? While effectively running SLOWER than the Survivors?

    Wow....

  • I'm the host. You connect to my network.

If the connection between us is bad, it's your job to leave the lobby and look for a better one. Just because YOUR connection to me is bad, doesn't mean it's bad for the others aswell.

Especially when people queue with friends from the opposite side of the world, they expect to get a killer with good ping for everyone. That's not how it works.

  • @Vietfox in other words, you'd say that DC is only allowed for players that need handholding. Players that lack the skill to be otherwise successful?

So, your suggestion would be to deny certain perks from being used once you reach a specific skill bracket? Or do you plan on stopping high skilled players from using DS?

It's not like no high skill player uses DS. Some players specificly use it BECAUSE it's broken, not because they need it.

  • @Vietfox said:
Yes i do realize about that, but if we keep going this way we are gonna give enough tools to mediocre killers to be able to defeat good survivors. I wouldn't call that balance.

    Not necessarily, no.

I'd say current balance is like this:

Low skilled Killers > Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers = Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers < high skilled Survivors

    Anticipated balance is this:
Low skilled Killers = Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers = Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers = high skilled Survivors

    Each skill bracket is balanced.

If we balance around high skilled players, people always expect it to look like this:

Low skilled Killers >> Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers > Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers = high skilled Survivors

That doesn't have to be the case. No one says we had to screw over the balance for the low and mid skilled players, it should totally be balanced in those skill brackets aswell BUT I say the core balance, the benchmark should be aimed at high rank players because they play the game in an optimal and efficient way. Others make too many mistakes, lack the skill and experience to truly make use of certain mechanics ect, it's hard to consider such things when you want to balance. You look at rough power of perks and mechanics without considering human failure, that's an optimal playstyle and if both sides play optimally, that should lead to a balanced match.

And to be a bit more related to OP: If you consider that, you'll find out that DS, in the hand of high skilled survivors, is indeed too strong. You can handle 1 or 2 but 4? No. Either limit DS for just the obsession and find a weaker alternative for non-obsession (weaker regarding it's effect) or completly rework it.

  • @Vietfox said:
    Pleas read again:

Players = both killers and survivors
    Survivors = only survivors

Do you really need more clues?

Do you realize that "balance" indicates the power gap between two (or more) sides or mechanics, in this case Survivors and Killers?

You can't balance Survivors without considering the Killers, otherwise it wouldn't be balanced.

If people say balance the game around high skill survivors Survivors, it means that high skill survivors should be the ones that set the benchmark for "balance" and everything needs to be adjusted to match up with that.

  • Let me conclude this quickly:

    @Vietfox said:
Since i got here i've kept hearing (or reading), mainly from killer mains, that game should be balanced around good players. Are you telling me that game should be balanced ONLY around good survivors?

    @Bbbrian2013 said:
    Yes. Yes we are.

    @Vietfox said:
Thanks for proving that killer mains like you (not every killer main) just want easy games then.

    Summarize:
-> Are you telling me that the game should be balanced only around good survivors?

    -> Yes

-> In that case you're a Killer main that just want's easy wins.

Please explain to me how asking for balance in high rank has ANYTHING to do with

    • being a killer main
    • wanting easy wins

If that's not biased, what else is it? There is absolutely no relation to either Killer main nor easy wins, it's just a straight clear statement that they want the game to be balanced around high rank players (and so do I).

I don't care what your 3600 comments tell, the fact is that you posts of people you believe are Killer mains and twist their argument into killer / survivor discussions or about how Killers just want easy wins while the original point has absolutely nothing to do with it.

  • @Vietfox said:
Thanks for proving that killer mains like you (not every killer main) just want easy games then.

You're incredibly biased with that mindset.

If Killers want easy wins but Survivors don't, why are they so afraid of Killer buffs?

I could agree with you now and say: "Yes, Killer want easy wins!"

If you as Survivor don't care about that, you'd say: "Alright, you can get easy wins then because I don't care about that!".

The fact that Survivors are so afraid of Killer buffs proves that they in fact don't want harder matches. If anything, they want to maintain their easy wins.

Well ok, if you can stockpile ebony mori then someone could have over 200 easy and if they CHOSE to play them every match starting right now then counting actual events and BP events coming up it would be easy to keep that cycle going for quite some time and even switch between killers who have them stockpiled as well, some people may have over 100 on multiple killers . It's very possible to keep that streak going for months of nothing but playing Ebony mori , that's the relevance to your post you say it's impossible to play them every match , yea nd so is a syringe insta heal but if you stock up big and start using them you would get enough in bloodweb and through events to keep that cycle going for quite some time before it actually ran out. My original post was to you talking about Ebony mori and about how it's your opinion that swf is unfun to play against not everyone feels the same as you

    Ok

  • I call bullshit! SWFs just want to have fun! They would never try to ruin the fun for Killers!!1

  • @OrionsFury4789 While we're at it, please also read through your wording where you call me "noob" and someone that doesn't "know what their talking about". Kinda ironic.

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
Not lying about anything it's funny you're so remedial you want to couple me with the person who said it was possible in every match , I said it was totally possible to stockpile, and with 80 you could definitely start playing them every match for at least a couple of weeks with that and who says you don't pick up more along the way? The fact you have 80 and you're going to say their UR and hard to come by earlier is laughable, I'm gonna play ebony mori in every match today and I guarantee I don't lose, I may even set up a twitch and stream it today

    I repeat:

All I am saying is that you CAN'T maintain ebony mori for every single match.

You replied to me with that unrelated nonsense that you have 45 ebony moris on your spirit. It's of no relevance. It has nothing to do with my OP. YOU started with this nonsense after I perfectly clear explained why it's not possible to maintain ebony moris every single match.

    Let me quote myself:

    @Roobnus said:
Seriously, all the players that claim you can maintain an ebony mori every single match need to stop. It's a blatant lie at that point, everyone knows that. Ebony Mori, even with a P3/50 character appears maybe once every 3 bloodwebs at best. You need ~80k bloodpoints per lvl 50 bloodweb on average, so that's 240k bloodpoints.

    To which you replied:

    @OrionsFury4789 said:
Dude I play killer more than survivor and I have 45 ebony mori on my spirit right now and it's not far fetched to think older killers in the game would  have more if someone was maining someone like the trapper  , either you're a noob or just don't know what you're talking about.

How is that of ANY relevance to my post? Explain, please.

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
You should really read your own post I was referring to what you said about Ebony mori and your comment to him about swf being unfun to go against but that's YOUR opinion , I have fun with it and I love the salt afterwards I put that ######### in my coffee every morning along with their tears , so do us all a favor and re read your own post next time before you answer telling someone you didn't just say it was impossible to stockpile mori or about swf , if you were here that long then where the hell were you during the winter event when ebony mori were like candy in the present in the bloodweb?

Yes, and I refuse to believe that you can maintain ebony moris for every single match.

It's a blatant lie, nothing else and it's simply ridiculous that you guys still refuse to admit it. Yes, you can totally stack up loads of ebonys but that's not part of this discussion. I currently have over 80 on my billy but that's the result of several hundred hours playtime.

People claimed that you can maintain ebony moris for every single match, that's SIMPLY NOT TRUE. End of discussion, or you seriously want to keep lying about it?

And your SWF experience is exactly what I described before: The salt. You enjoy the salt. That's your opinon but that doesn't change the fact that they are salty, in fact you even admit it.

You're seriously not worth my time. You missed every single point and started to make up ######### that I never said. Where did I say ANYTHING about it's impossible to stockpile moris? Quote me. GO AHEAD. I'm waiting.

I SAID YOU CAN'T MAINTAIN MORIS FOR

    EVERY
    SINGLE
    MATCH

BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FARM ENOUGH BLOODPOINTS TO GO THROUGH 3+ BLOODWEBS IN A SINGLE MATCH.

    DO YOU GET IT NOW?

Killer sucked to play a year and a half ago and I was right here complaining too but with all the changes since I haven't had any problems winning my matches you even admitted to me in a earlier post its not hard to win against them , and there is no such thing as a try hard when you're using the game intended perks you guys need to grow up and just play a different game if you have that many things about this one game that upsets you and that's not me being a dick but person to person if this game is pissing you people off that bad and you feel like it's that unfair and unbalanced then QUIT playing it's not healthy for you guys to be pissed off crying on here 24/7

I'm playing since 2016, but go ahead and call me noob.

You seriously need to read more carefully what you read. Playing Killer is not a problem, nowhere in my post did I mention the balance between Killers and Survivors. I'm solely talking about the imbalance of SWFs.

    Tell me one thing:
What has changed regarding the SWF problematics?

    Exactly nothing.

I already explained perfectly fine why playing against SWF is not fun, it has nothing to do with being able to 4k or not, not necessarily. Please, please do me a favour and read my post again and responde to actual quotes I said instead of typing the same irrelevant nonsense over and over again.

Killers and Survivors are (mostly) balanced. SWF is not, for the reason I mentioned above.

  • Infinites still exist, just because you don't know about their existence doesn't mean they don't exist.

Hatch is just a very poorly designed mechanic for both sides. It's obvious that players try to come up with a better solution and it's naturally in favour of their prefered role. It's up to the devs to find a proper balance out of all suggestions but fact is, the hatch as we have it now is a bad mechanic, I think we can all agree to that.

Cough Black Ward cough and yes it can if you're maxed out and you've got nothing else to spend bp on it's quite easy to stockpile them.

Please explain how you're going to use a Black Ward (an offering) while using an Ebony Mori (an offering) at the same time?

  • Seriously, all the players that claim you can maintain an ebony mori every single match need to stop. It's a blatant lie at that point, everyone knows that. So tell me again how you're going to maintain ebony moris when you need 240k bloodpoints for each? At that point you're effectively making ridiculous ######### up.

Not to mention that matches with Ebony Moris yield less bloodpoints since you're going to lack hook points. The credibility of certain users here is very questionable after I read such statements.

    Regarding SWFs, @knell explained it perfectly;
SWFs play their game. The Killer might aswell be an NPC, it wouldn't matter to most of them. It's just "something" that also happens to be playing the game, but not with us. The classic 5th wheel.

There's 3 things that are most likely going to happen:

    • Killer plays along in a boring match, doesn't tryhard and thus doesn't ruin their fun to avoid getting flamed. SWFs are happy, Killer is not.

    • Killer plays normal, kills them and gets flamed for tryharding and not providing a funny match. Killer might be happy, SWFs are not.

    • ...or you get unlucky and face a proteam that destroys you regardless of your playstyle. SWFs are happy, Killer is not.

It's most of the time simply not a fun experience to play against SWFs - and it's time to accept that.

That's also why no one plays KYF. If you play Killer against your own friends, it most likely won't be a funny experience for one side or another. You're going to get in trouble, almost guaranteed. We all know it's true. Some people just have trouble admitting it.

  • @Eveline said:
I refuse to be monitored and abused.

... no, no. That simply can't be true, not for someone that's playing Dead By Daylight.

  • Well, either don't get caught or play Killer, both those things guarantee that you won't get camped... Think about it!

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
My point is that survivors may have a slight advantage whenever they're all competent but it's not huge and you never usually get people in the same SWF of equal skill level and over alturism screws them 90% of the time because they don't want to leave their buddies behind or they stop doing gens to try and get your attention to save someone else , I 3-4k every match without a big issue and I never camp or tunnel I run MYC on a high mobility killer and I run a hook n go build and patrol gens and hunt the unhooker down , there are also certain add ons and offerings that can swing the advantage to the killers side that's how close to balanced the game already is when something so small can change the whole outcome of a match

Alright, I can see where you're coming from.

In the end you still have to admit that "balance is served by lack of skill of survivors".

Over-altruism screws them. It's a matter of choice at that point, something that could be avoided.

I'm not really looking at this from a Killers point of view, I know that they mostly 3-4k. I'm looking at this from a SWFs point of view, knowing perfectly well how broken it is because I'm part of the problem myself. When I look at OPs video I can just facepalm, it's not at all a representation of SWFs but of THEMSELVES (and only that).

If you've ever played in an organized, competent SWFs you'll find yourself escaping most of the time relatively effortless. Most matches will end in 0-1k at best and the Killer has to try incredibly hard to achieve anything better than that.

It makes me wonder, if survivors really had to tryhard to win, what would the game be like? It's the opposite now, the Killer has to really tryhard to get anything done and Survivors usually just mess around, mass DC, suicide on hook and still get "relatively good" results.

What about the Survivors that want to tryhard and still want to have a challenge? You have to give up one or another if you want a good match (unless you face a Nurse). You either purposely mess around to make it fairer or you go fully tryhard and win rather effortless. This is probably the reason why most Survivors drop the tryharding and start to mess around, because it's just too boring and easy otherwise.

That's my observation and I think with proper balance, high rank games would be a lot more interesting for both sides.

So why didn't you reply in that manner to the person that initiated the topic a few posts ago? Looks to me as if you're cherry-picking the posts that you don't like and try to play the forum police officer by trying to discredit them for some random reasons? If anyone should be replying to my comments, it should be OP themselves but they're probably more annoyed by you derailing the discussion with nonsense and uncontructive inputs.

And there's still a post order in process in a thread. If you'd have taken the time to read through them, you'd have realized that it was connected to my previous post / the ongoing discussion. Farewell.

  • @Vietfox said:

Your reply wasn't constructive since op wasn't talking about balanced, you were the one who jumped in and released all the sal without even paying attention, i think it's you the one who needs to get a better life ^^

My reply was never aimed at OP, it was aimed at people in this discussion claiming things that I'm questioning.

If the context of the discussion isn't appealing to you, you can do two things:

    • complain about it by the person that initiated it
    • ignore it, since it doesn't seem to be a topic you want to discuss about

It's still about SWF afterall, so balance of SWFs is a big part of it.

  • Slowly getting a bit tired of you guys here...

Let me make it totally clear for once, @thesuicidefox the discussion is coming from this post:

Once I get all the perks I'm positive I could get at least a green or pink mori per bloodweb, and with BBQ I can play 1 game and get an entire blood web (or most of it). I also have something like 25+ pink hatchets on my Huntress. So no, they are easy AF to get and maintain if you are willing to dump your BP into a killer that already has every perk, and are willing to play a game here and there without it to get some extra BP for the next web.

    Special mention:
So no, they are easy AF to get and maintain if you are willing to dump your BP into a killer that already has every perk, and are willing to play a game here and there without it to get some extra BP for the next web.

And now your next post says this:

    @thesuicidefox said:
I mean if you are so desperate for kills that you spam your best stuff every game regardless I can see how you might run out of this stuff. If you actually reserve it for when you feel you need it, no you could never run out. I can literally play 20 games in a row with OP add-ons and a pink mori, and get back at least 3/4 of it from the BP I earned in those games.

I could also play 1 killer game with BBQ and 1 survivor game with WGLF and easily earn enough BP to take a full blood web. I could also just aim for the moris and then take all the white stuff. I've gone through level 50 blood webs easily with just 50k points by doing this. You act like it's impossible to maintain an infinite supply of this stuff when it's not. It's very easy.

Firstly, stop putting words in my mouth (i just love when people say that). I never said I'm desperate for kills so that I spam the best stuff.

Secondly, you literally said in the post above that it's ez af to maintain those offerings and add-ons, but now you say that you can see how you might run out of them?

Thirdly, I want to see you using 20 moris in a row and then getting back 15 of them just from those 20 matches. I am certain you will not be able to get those Moris back but feel free to prove me wrong!

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
Well I didn't say I was a casual you shouldn't put words in my mouth and you have no idea how I play maybe you should keep your ASSumptions to yourself, dont sit here and pretend like you win every single game at high ranks it's super easy for team mates to screw the whole team over and everyone knows it

When I say "You", I'm not talking about YOU personally but the players that identify themselves as casuals, Apologies for the misunderstanding but I thought it was quite obvious in the context of my post.

  • @Vietfox said:
    Lol, RIP @Roobnus
You mad because you realized your comment was pointless?

it doesn't surprise me that you have more than 3600 posts, since you feel the need to step into every conversation without adding anything conctructive to it. I'm wondering, do you get paid for this or do you really have such a sad, boring life?

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
That's your choice , they're trying to more even it out the best they can but this game is balanced around casuals because they make up more of the game than you realize, I'm sure alot of people can agree with that ,but understand that survival rates are under 50%  at red ranks even with all the derankers and farmers allowing them all to survive , not everyone plays the game like the depip squad and it's quite easy to get 3 or 4k 85% of the time , it's super rare to run into a squad that can just mop the floor with me I've only had it happen a handful of times and I can usually see where I went wrong

So let me get this straight.

Fact 1: Survivors are at an advantage in high ranks.
Fact 2: Survivors lose more often than they win in high rank
(using your own words as source)

Conclusion: Even though the Survivors are at an advantage, they somehow still manage to lose more often?

    My personal reflection of this:
Too many survivors identify themselves as "being casuals". After hundreds of hours playing this game day in day out, you're not a casual anymore.

You have the experience and knowledge required to be good at the game.
You have the advantage of the game at your side.
You have your friends at your side to help you achieve victory.

And you STILL lose? That can only mean two things:

    • you are incredibly bad at the game
    • you purposely throw games because you don't even try to win

Both those things mean that the results from high rank matches are not actually representative for balance. One scenario means the players weren't actually high skilled and the other scenario means the players didn't even try to win, so naturally they're more likely to lose.

  • Every games balance should be based on skill. If both sides share the same skill level, the match should be rough for both sides - but balanced. Both sides should have a fair chance of winning.

If I understand you guys correctly; the matches are easy for new Killers, somewhat balanced for the average Killers and unbalanced for the skilled Killers?

Where is the logic is that? Getting better at the game should be rewarded, not punished. No wonder no one wants to play Killer, lol. That's ridiculous.

The best part is, people explain it with "it's balanced around casuals". When I look at the players I play against, almost no one has less than 500 hours in this game.

How are those players "casuals"? They play this game for several hours every single day, they're the opposite of casuals. Being a casual and being bad at the game is not the same. A casual is someone that plays the game casually. A player with 1000 hours but STILL no idea of how to play is not a casual, it's just someone that refuses to get good at the game.

  • @OrionsFury4789 said:
@Roobnus I guess I can agree with you on the ranking side of it and Mathieu has said it several times that it's not meant to be an e sport that's why marth88 and other killers decided to leave or take a break, because they proved that a top notch squad could beat even the best killer that's no secret but not every swf is the depip squad it's really rare to have a group that makes zero mistakes and sometimes something as small as going the right direction and catching a survivor off guard at the beginning can impact the whole game in your favor

So let me get this straight:

People KNOW that the game is not balanced in high rank, yet they can't understand why people of high rank ask for balance in the high rank?

And to excuse the imbalance in high rank, they take low / mid rank matches as examples for balance? What?

I'm not gonna lie, I think the first thing I'm going to do tonight is depip on purpose just to get to the "balanced" ranks.

If the devs refuse to balance the game around the hardcore players, the players that spend the most time playing their game, the players that play it to an extreme, then I have no other choice but to balance it myself, by heading to the ranks where the game is supposed to be balanced.

    Interesting.

Can you teach me how you get through a whole lvl 50 bloodweb with only ~60k points? Also considering that the mori alone costs 8'000 bloodpoints and you'll need somewhat strong add-ons aswell to be able to deal with SWFs.

That means you not only get an ebony mori each bloodweb, you also get good add-ons in each blood web and you can maintain both those add-ons and that ebony mori with the bloodpoints you earned for a single match?

    If that's true, I'm truly impressive.....which I'm not, because I know it's bullshit.

Balance it the way you're talking about and watch anyone who's below a rank 5 survivor totally dip on this game because they already don't play it alot, sure me and some of my friends could easily accept the changes but you bring in people not as dedicated as we are who literally still get the jumps off this game or just play it when they're enjoying a break in their normal routine and throw them into that situation and watch the ones who aren't hardcore ALL hit the road and leave you with the same toxic survivors over and over again, while we can agree there are a few things that need to be addressed on the killer side , the same could be said about survivors, and at this point in the game it's balanced for the most part it's really just QOL changes that are needed.

Oh did they? Show me a clip of where they said that, I'll be waiting.

To make it simple; I don't want to kill this game, I just want two things:

Firstly, I want is a proper ranking system that seperates the unskilled, incompetent "casuals" from the actually skilled, competent "hardcore" players. Casuals should NEVER be able to reach Rank 5. Shouldn't happen. If that doesn't happen, we won't have problems with them anymore and they won't have problems with us anymore.

That's one problem solved by prodiving a "good" ranking system.

Secondly, I want them to balance SWFs.

That's another problem solved by providing a proper fix for SWFs.

That's it! That's all I'm asking for. Nerf SWF to the point where they're equal to 4 solos. Fix the ranking system so no casual will ever be able to make it past rank 10. DONE!

  • And while we're at it:
You excuse an obvious imbalance with the lack of skill of the majority.

Yes, not every SWF is broken but that doesn't change the fact that it CAN be broken - IF the players know how to play.

  • It doesn't matter how one specific SWF plays (and in this case a very bad one).
What matters is how a good, efficient SWF plays, that's what creates imbalance.

At that point you're honestly just excusing (and confusing) SWFs with "bad players". It's like letting a new player play a 5 blink Nurse and then use it as a proof that 5 blink Nurse is not broken.

It doesn't show what happens in a SWF, no. It shows what happens when this specific group of bad players play together. The result of that match was not caused by SWF, it was caused by the stupid decisions of the players.

So, next time you wanna demonstrate the power of SWF, you might want to use actually good players as an example. Nobody cares about some randoms that fail even at the basics.

  • The majority of the playerbase still play like R20, even in R1. The devs probably are not that professional and competitive either, which makes it hard for them to balance around high skilled players.

If the devs see R1 players struggle with Ruin, they think "Oh, even skilled players struggle with it!" but in reality it's just the result of a bad matchmaking allowing unskilled players to reach the highest rank in the game.

It's a general problem in DbD, how can you balance a game that has a huge pot of players mixed from noobs to pros and the matchmaking "randomly" picks 5 to play against each other? Many match results are already defined before it even starts, simply because of the massive difference in skill between the players.

  • Legion IS bad.

Yes it does with legion lol because the reduced terror radius and offsetting your target for that one time abd returing will take the chase music away and make them still bleed out even though you are after them until you’re close

Isn't the chase mechanic based on the Killers field of view , actual distance and behaviour of the Survivor (running away from the Killer) and completly ignores terror radius?

Because I can walk in front of a Killer until he's up my butt and then Sprint Burst away to "start" the chase.

You can test that very easily during a hatch standoff. The terror radius is irrelevant for the chase mechanic.

Edit: Which is btw why the "tactics" I mentioned in OP (Moon-/Shamewalk of death) work. You either run backwards or you run while looking downwards so the Survivor won't be in your field of view, which stops the chase.
