Hag can make survivors feel very helpless. Often times you will get downed due to two well placed traps very quickly, and it may make you feel as if it is unfair because you had no real counter. In that moment this is partially true, you can't really predict where traps are very accurately as there are just too many potential trap spots. However, hag's main counter play comes early game, and that is having someone harass her while she attempts to set up her web. I think that this is the underlying issue people have with hag, because this counter is not something that is easy to do, especially in a solo q team. She isn't actually op, or realistically even in need of a change, but I can certainly see where the frustration comes from. What I'd say is play who you want to play and how you wish to, don't worry about people giving hate or dc'ing.
I'll never really care if there isn't a basis other than people not learning how to play against Hag, but I've been confused on why I get hate for playing effectively.

She is a very difficult killer to play against in the right hands, my only tips against her would be to use your flashlights to burn away her traps and constantly have one or two people harass her web of traps. If a hag has at least 8 traps set down, you are probably going to die.
If 3 people are harassing, only one is doing gens. I've had multiple harassment squads (as well as streamers spamming flashlights), but they usually just spam the shack and think they can outplay the trap.
It's funny to see people try to do that to me

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time.
If you want people to leave the game due to sheer frustration of being ripped off, this is a great way to do it.
Regardless of what the EULA says, people got ripped off big time. If you choose to call upon the EULA to justify ripping off the community, some of the community will leave (on top of the people that have already left due to the frustration recently).

Disagree completely. Yamaoka looks distinctly different than MacMillan to me. The sky is orange instead of blue, it has bamboo everywhere, architecture is completely different, loops are wood/bamboo instead of brick/concrete, shack is different, it has statues everywhere and more; even the ground textures are different, Yamaoka has dirt/snow, while Macmillan has dark mud. The only thing that's the same is the grass, and maybe a few bushes and trees(?).
Im surprised by how many people claim all three realms look the same, despite them being very distinctly different.
So many people agree because they DO look the same.
I see lots of assets being reused (specifically some walls, very long grass, etc.) and nothing but a dark grey map instead of what usually has a light-dark blue color palette/correction and appropriate lighting to go with it. Those were a lot more pleasing to the eye than what they are now, as well as it being easier to see in general.

I actually love the rework. There's alot more to making a map look unique than giving it a color tint. The crumbling brick maze tiles look very distinct and I really like the wider window vaults.
The main buildings look a ton nicer as well.

Agree completely. I hated the old blue filter. The map looks much richer now, and to me, it still has MacMillan vibes.
The map looks like a bland copy and paste of Yamaoka because of the lack of any unique colors. Don’t get me wrong, I think we all love the graphical rework to an extent, but does looks bland compared to the tone it once had.
I would rather have slightly outdated graphics with a map that has a unique tone than a map with improved graphics but a bland, dark grey tone.

- ~36 new characters including licensed characters from major horror franchises, new engine and improved visuals, rift / archives, massively improved balance, console releases, crossplay, dedicated servers, SWF (people love to hate it, but this game might be dead without it), etc. Community feedback is important, but please give credit where credit is due.
- I'm sure they did play the game on console before releasing the patch. Not everyone is running into the performance issues, though, and they have to weigh performance issues for some people against "sorry, we're cancelling the event due to poor performance". You can bet people would have been on them for that too.
- I'm talking about the collective, not the individual. I'm not saying that the person who made any one post definitely doesn't know what they're talking about. I'm saying that many, many people are complaining and most of those complaints betray no such knowledge. On the whole, then, most of the noise is almost certainly coming from people who don't know enough to comment on how well Behaviour is doing its job.
- Those changes (rather than the content updates) are all things that they've done in the past, yet they hardly do anything to improve upon it once they've released unless there's outcry. I give credit to devs that deserve it, and they don't deserve credit for balancing the game. The community does.
- Not everyone? Most, if not all, people are experiencing these issues. If they weren't, they wouldn't have so many people complaining about it. The people not having issues are the lucky minority.
- That's fair.

- This is moving the goal posts. This game was what it was at release. You can't go back in time and make this game a masterpiece at launch so that the current state looks bad in comparison. You have to compare what the game was to what it is.
- The reason why companies like Google roll out their software is because sometimes, especially for bugs that are more rare, it is simply so unlikely that you'll trigger it internally that you need to see how it performs in the wild. That's one of the reasons why the PTB exists. Rather than just testing internally, Behaviour is able to get their changes in front of a much larger group of testers and weed out some of these bugs that only occur on certain maps, with certain killers, running certain perks, on certain hardware, for example. There is not a chance they push code out the door without testing it.
- Do you seriously believe that an appreciable percentage of people on this forum know enough about video game development and the state of this game's code base to actually be able to intelligently comment on Behaviour's development quality, prioritization, etc.? Do you seriously believe that an appreciable percentage of people on this forum know enough about business and enough about Behaviour specifically to comment on whether they should be making different business decisions? Very few people are going to check either box, and those that do would demonstrate that in their posts rather than just whining because a bug got added or their pet issue didn't get addressed.
- No, it's not. People tend to exaggerate the amount of things they've done to help the game versus the amount of things they've done to break it simply because it was broken at launch. In fact, without the community's constant criticism of stupid ideas they love to put out, the game would've died at the broken lunar event (insta-flashlights and insta-dropping survivors on a pallet). They made these changes because they didn't bother to think about Game Design, and anyone with a single neuron that remembers Game Design would know that a lot of the changes they've made were out of ignorance.
- That's not an excuse for extreme bugs. Have play testers, and actually USE the PTB. Most of the things that break this game get through the PTB due to ignorance of criticism, or just are rolled without any PTB in the first place. As an example: If you think they touched a console before playing the game on the current patch while not even knowing the FPS issues were there in the first place (they had to add the announcement), you need to rethink how you view this company's competence.
- Irrelevant. No matter what your opinion is, or what mine is (which I agree with you), you don't assume that someone doesn't know a thing about game development when they make a complaint on the forums.

- I don't see your point. By your own admission they started off with a broken, barebones game. They've made a lot of positive changes since then.
- That's not necessarily true. They could also be making under-the-hood changes to things that don't show up in the patch notes and unintentionally breaking things in the process. That's one of the risks of rewriting parts of the game. Even if we assume it's a steaming pile of ######### under the hood, how would you suggest they proceed? Take a year off from new content and rewrite the game from the ground up to try to make it more stable? Stop supporting the game and just develop DBD 2 instead? There's no easy answer and whatever they do will require sacrifices.
- This is not dumb. This is probability. Most people don't know much about either of those things, but most people do know how to make a forum account and start whining. I would love them to do this, but fixing and balancing doesn't make money in the short term. If all of the people who just tune in for new content leave, the game could start to die. From their perspective, releasing content is very important for this reason. Plus, there are also a lot of teams involved in making the game, and the people designing new maps, cosmetics, etc. are not necessarily the same people who would be working on performance improvements and bug fixes; it's not always reasonable or helpful to fling everyone at game health.
- If their game was functional at release instead of an alpha (they released it too early is what I'm getting at), the game would be in a better state and the overall improvement of the game over the years wouldn't be so exaggerated.
- How about just testing their game before putting stuff out? It's their fault they break everything because they refuse to actually test their code and look at some conflicts between variables, map collision, etc.
- It's not probability because you can't assume people don't know anything about Game Development just due to how you view people on the forums regardless, balancing the game and giving it QoL gives longevity to older players and attracts new ones (so it does make a big profit), and it's up to them in that case to communicate with the other teams instead of having a lack of communication and testing.

You don't seem to respect their opinion if you're calling this post "white knighting". This game is substantially better than it was four years ago. Is it buggy as hell? Yes. Does it run poorly, especially on console? Yes. Do I wish they would prioritize other things at times? Yes. But still, they have vastly improved balance, added an amazing amount of content to the game, and built an experience that's fun enough to retain players for years.
We don't know what the code looks like under the hood. It could be that parts of this game would really need time-intensive rewrites in order to make them more reliable and better performing going forward. That might just be very hard for them to prioritize given the breakneck pace of content releases they've been keeping up, especially because that doesn't make money in the short term. Do I wish they would do whatever they need to do to increase the quality of their product, even if it means sacrificing content? Sure. Does that mean they're incompetent and deserve non-stop ######### from the people on this forum who don't know the first thing about video game development or how to run a business? Absolutely not.
- That's only because the game at launch was bare bones and broken. If it wasn't, the game wouldn't have gotten much except for some more content and doors.
- We know the code is spaghetti because changing one thing breaks another. If the code wasn't spaghetti, or the coders knew what they're doing (I'm sure they do), it would be functional.
- Assuming people who give criticism doesn't know a thing about Game Development is like assuming a consumer doesn't know anything about Economics; It's simply dumb. If they cared, they would've accepted the community's cry for a patch that focuses on fixing and balancing rather than adding new content that breaks the game.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1698359#Comment_1698359
We're merging threads as it makes it easier for everyone to see the complaints as a collective - if threads were all individual, it'd make it harder to keep track of. Merging threads always has been done as it's easier to forward the feedback.
Even if it's all in one thread - it's still noticed and seen. It doesn't make the feedback less valueable. It's just as valueable as if it wasn't merged.
As I explained in my post, it DOES make the feedback less valuable because more of the community has no idea about the negative feedback in the first place (and are going to create MORE threads as a result). You might mean it in the sense of the devs looking at feedback, but it should be looked at as BOTH the devs looking at feedback and the community coming together to give valid criticism. The mod team's "superthread" has seriously disorganized most, if not all, constructive-criticism and has mixed it with positive feedback, the same thing that the team promotes on the forum.
I'd argue that having more than one thread IS more organized because the superthread is absolute trash at the moment. You have people supporting the event, you have people listing their issues with the event, and you have people actually commenting on what the thread was in the first place. It's been turned into a monster that no one is going to bother to comb through unless they're dedicated. Instead, make multiple merged threads relating to different issues, like, "Criticism of the event", "Suggestions for future events", "Why is there no event currency?", etc.

It's not "hidden" in Feedback at all - it's in the correct sub forum for what it is...which is feedback. So when people want to read feedback on things they go to exactly the correct sub forum.
FYI we've already taken the feedback internally (that is our jobs), so complaining at us for doing our jobs and not moving threads to where they need to go is hardly helpful to anyone and definitely a way to not get your feedback listened to is to be rude about it. Constructive feedback is usually read and listened to, rants, raves, insults - not.
"Then may I suggest telling the people up there not to make such a colossal mistake? This is on the devs for aggravating a big chunk of the community, and they're getting the backlash they well deserve. They're making you guys, the forum admins, deal with the backlash while they make the mistakes, so it's not your guys' fault, but letting the conversation be Laissez-faire will actually get a point across. Overall, Merging threads is a major error because the forums being flooded is completely justified backlash.
My point still stands.
(I don't know why the font is like that lmao)"
That's not constructive criticism of your practices? You obviously didn't even read it either, since it clearly states that it isn't your fault this is happening. However, if you care about the devs actually seeing the feedback instead of ignoring it (as well as the community), you wouldn't hide it like it is right now. There's already people who have no idea the superthread exists, so denying it's being hidden is futile and non-constructive. Heck, your moderator team is becoming the issue rather than just the white knights; you've been moving threads to a hidden superthread that aren't even giving any criticism (making the public opinion look even worse). There's a scientific effect based off of this, but I forgot what the name is.

This is the type of comment that stops the conversation... Don't just insult, elaborate. What are you unhappy about? What will you/won't you buy?
That's already been discussed, but every single time it's been discussed the mods have moved it to a supervoid (superthread in Feedback) and it's hidden from everyone.
I even argued against it and won, yet it's still going on because they have the final word.

And for me to "suck up" you would have to assume that they even bother reading these threads. I'm pretty sure they wrote this one off after the first post. I know I would have.
Why would they have to bother reading the threads to call you a suck-up? You're being a white knight because you'd rather tell blindly tell people to stop playing if they don't like it instead of looking at what they've done and not feeding BHVR's ego. Do you really want me to lecture you and explain the difference between a negative and positive feedback loop? Somehow, I doubt it. What I am going to point out is this tantrum of a thread isn't going to have the effect you want. You want to vent, well you are venting on the company's dime. That is another freebie they are giving you even as we type. You should feel vindicated that they are so progressive that they are willing to pay for you badmouthing them. They will even leave these posts up for posterity should anyone want to go back and look at them later.
To be irrational, I would have to be emotional about this in the first place. I'm not; I'm a cold fish when it comes to this topic. Let me give you some context that I think will help:
- I don't care about cosmetics.
- I don't buy cosmetics.
- I will happily take and use any free stuff they give me.
- The basic game was cheap.
- The DLC I've bought so far were all cheap.
- There are constantly sales going on that are 60%+ off.
- There is no competitive edge to any of the cosmetics.
- All Perks introduced by new DLC eventually show up on the Shrine.
- We don't pay a subscription fee.
- The company literally loses money on me, as I'm an extremely thrifty shopper.
Oddly enough, you are exactly the kind of customer they want, i.e. someone who simply must have whatever new "Skin" is available for your favorite Killer, or new outfit for your Survivor build. Getting this junk is so important to you that you explode in anger if you don't get the fix. Well you know, the first taste is always free. This is a business. You are demanding they give you free stuff. I'm simply pointing out that their very business model is based on selling you the stuff you want for free. Which of us do you truly think sounds more rational?
?
Nice bait I guess? I already said lots of times that I could care less about cosmetics.
And holy heck, you really are a suck-up. They don't control our lives, and we don't have to thank them for being our lord and letting us talk. We stay here because we love the game they've created, and we're mad because they're digging the game into the ground. You do know that, right?
The only reason the forums were created was to interact with the community, as well as get feedback and get involved. By your logic, THEY should feel vindicated that we grace them with our presence, we're progressive and put up with their mistakes/changes, and we use their forums instead of hating on them through reddit (where they can't delete/move anything they want). That's not how this works, as much as you'd like it to be through your narrow view.
Without a community, there's no profit to be made. They're ruining their own profits while ruining their game at the same time.

I would point out that negative feedback loops like this don't benefit the community at all. They divide it and give bad press to anyone new coming in here. It sets up a notion that it is an us versus them. If you cared one bit about the community you would be creating a positive feedback loop. :)
Now you're either trolling or thinking irrationally. Where do you think we'd be without negative feedback? No where, as the game would've just died due to no one acknowledging the issues.
You're the one showing negative feedback towards the community that wants more than just a few pay-to-get cosmetics like they've been getting every year.

You get to participate in the event for free. You are under no obligation to buy the cosmetic nor does it provide any competitive edge. I simply don't see the disconnect. Our priorities are clearly very different.
Your priority is clearly just you and what you do with your wallet, while mine is geared towards actually supporting the community and thanking them for keeping the game going so they don't leave.
You don't understand why the community wants to be rewarded and to have fun without paying for a useless pass? Fine, but don't call people entitled for wanting that from a game they've already bought.

I'm not salty at all; I'm laughing at you. I find this entire thread pathetic. I find undeserved entitlement, which is rampant these days, to be one of the funniest things under the sun. I feel the obligation to point this out, so that nobody confuses my silence for agreement. I'm here to play the game. Free stuff is great when it happens, but coming to expect it is just ungrateful at worst and unrealistic at best. If you want something, buy it. If you aren't happy, you move on. It really is as simple as that.
So it's entitled to want to participate in a yearly event, in a game we already paid for, without paying more money for stupid cosmetics? They're supposed to be for fun and rewards. If you're fine with shelling out money like a leeching consumer no one cares, but you're calling people who are asking for an event not to be a cash-grab entitled.

Again: ?
I never said they don't pay their employees, I've said that it doesn't cost them anything other than the time to repeat a yearly event. I never asked for free cosmetics (as the other argument against me clearly implies), and never said the cosmetics don't cost anything to make (they have a whole team dedicated to this): repeating events doesn't cost them anything. Instead of doing that, they instead did a cash-grab of cosmetics and a p2p event.

*I'm mad because I didn't get a free make-believe outfit.

I've been playing this game since launch, and never have I seen them be more ridiculously greedy than right now. It costs them virtually nothing to repeat a past event compared to, let's say, FIXING THE GAME. What planet do you live on? On Earth, free stuff, even simple cosmetics, require man-hours to create, resources to pay for man-hours, and so on. There isn't a Cosmetic Fairy that zaps them into existence. The difference between you and I is that I realize they are a business, and their business is selling us the game, DLC, and cosmetics. Every free thing they give us undercuts the same type of thing they could sell.
That's an extremely stupid way to look at it. These events don't cost jack to make other than time, and I don't count courtesy events towards people's salaries. The difference between you and I is that I'm not a suck-up to a company that is likely worth nearly $1B at this point.

I want to start by saying I am not employed by BHVR, nor is any member of my family (or any of my friends for that matter). I want to remind everyone that they are a business. Selling us the game, DLC, and cosmetics is their only revenue stream. The fact that they give us anything free at all is a net loss to them. They give free stuff out frequently enough. I play a lot of video games. This one is probably the least expensive one. I have to wonder about the entitlement I hear in posts like these. The ironic thing is BHVR is also paying for this very Forum which you are complaining about them on. Crazy right?
I want to remind everyone that you do not pay a subscription fee. You bought the game but pay nothing for the upkeep of the servers, the site, etc. Once you buy in you can play for as long as the game exists. Nothing requires you to buy new Killers, new Survivors, or all these cosmetics. Do you want to know how many cosmetics I've bought? Well, you probably don't care, but I've bought zero. I don't buy make-believe outfits. I'll take and use the free stuff. I'm not, however, going to complain about them not giving me enough free stuff.
Take a step back, take a deep breath, and think about this situation and your expectations. They are not reasonable.
Releasing things for free doesn't use up resources, and is therefore not a loss. Programming for an event is not something with a limited resource, especially when you have millions of dollars already (and you could just repeat successful ones). It's only a loss if they look at it from the company standpoint: "If we're not selling it, we're losing money."
We paid for the game, and we expect to be treated more like a community than trash that will eat up anything.

Disagree, I believe fallout 4 was great from both gameplay and story. not the most modern engine, but I consider it one of the best games I have ever played.
Then you never played Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Good read, would recommend going through the whole thing

I'm genuinely surprised this hasn't been moved to the void. Preach, brother.

96 meter radius on discordance means that at the very least you will cover around 9/16ths of the map if you are standing in a corner doing nothing, but as you won't be doing that the likelihood of it not being able to proc goes down significantly and as long as you are 32 meters away from a wall it is map wide, but as no map is longer than 128m on any side and as they are usually smaller, it usually ends up being map wide closer to 98 or 99% of the time
?
No matter what shape the map is, There will ALWAYS be 25% of the map that cannot proc. If you're 32m away from a wall, it won't proc in that whole area (+ a little extra on the sides if we assume it's a circular shape).
Also:
4.6m/s (fastest killer speed).
128m/4.6m/s = 27.8 seconds to go from one side of the map to the other.
25% of 27.8s = 6.95s.
Assuming that you're moving at 4.5 m/s (which you probably aren't on most killers), you're still 7 seconds away from Discordance procing (assuming there's a gen on the other side of the map). It may not seem like a lot, but, if you're in a chase you're not going to proc by a long shot.

Have they even acknowledged anywhere that they understand its going on ?
I have been looking but NOwhere do I see that they even think it's a problem. That is worse then the problem existing at all, please talk to your "community". That's why you have so many FOG WHISPERS / community managers etc. A simple " We know we messed up and are working to fix it" would go a LONG LONG way
Considering you only have 32 posts, I pity you.
A few patches ago, the same thing happened: Lots of hate on the forums because the devs refused to acknowledge console FPS for weeks on end. I wouldn't expect it to be acknowledged for awhile.

I’ll just copy and paste this for reference sake:
128-96 = 32m, exact numbers of a Trapper terror radius.
32m/128m = 25% of the map.
25% of the time, Discordance won’t proc.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, let’s say 20%. You’re still missing out on 30.4m worth of the map out of 128m, so it’s ~24% of the map.

Wdym free? As in the event currency? Because, in that case, that’s a good thing.
These skins aren’t meant to be legacy (and thank god they’re not, or they’d all be deleted).

that's exactly what i said: a laptop with a 2 gb gt 650m with an outdated cpu that overheats at 2.4 ghz is not capable of running this game (not anymore)
then i offered 2 options: buy a laptop of $1400-2000 or build own pc from pcpartpicker.com
when people say build own pc they generally mean build your custom desktop
Fair enough, but I’ll drink the cum chalice if a game like this couldn’t run on an i7 laptop with a GPU on low settings if it was optimized, especially when I could play this game on an i5 with dedicated graphics.

96 meter radius, pi2^2, 28952.91 m^2 literally big enough to cover any map in the game and then some as long as you aren't standing in a corner, 98% of the time it will work as old discordance has, but in that 2% when you stand in a corner it and doesn't work its just on you at that point
Wot?
How about this:
128-96 = 32m, exact numbers of a Trapper terror radius.
32m/128m = 25% of the map.
25% of the time, Discordance won’t proc.

still gens don't spawn in a CORNER and unless you are personally standing in a CORNER opposite of the gen on the BIGGEST maps it will still proc
If gens weren’t spread out across the map, survivors would never win the game. There are tons of spots in the game where more than one gen is in a corner/opposite end of the map (I’ve never played a game on Coldwin Farm that doesn’t have two gens in opposite corners of the map, Clown’s map almost always has a corner gen, Lery’s has gens on opposite sides of the map, Hawkins is literally just corner simulator with one or two exceptions, etc).

what are you saying????? i said either laptop or custom build. read. some people like laptops because they are mobile and light. "smol brain time" americans
i didnt type anything about the optimization i mean that laptop is not capable
@[Deleted User] said:
sorry man that laptop is from 2012
you either need to buy a $1400-2000 laptop with the newest hardware or build your own pc with select parts
pcpartpicker.com
??? You just said to both upgrade your system, implying the culprit is the computer and not the game, and said to buy an overpriced laptop when you can just build a more powerful desktop for a much cheaper price.

You FOOL, I watched my wording carefully and said BIGGEST maps so technically I only included mothers dwelling, shelter woods, and disturbed ward, (biggest, bigger, big) so im technically correct which is the best kind of correct.
No, you’re not. As mentioned before, map sizes were equalized to 128m.
Like it or not, the fact is that Discordance got nerfed. The aura ALWAYS showed at ANY aura before the nerf (as long as the survivors are still at a gen), and they nerfed the range so that it isn’t map-wide. As well as that, level 1/2 are absolutely abysmal (32/64? Really?), and the counter of Empathy isn’t meant to be based off of power. Surveillance is likely to be definitively better than Discordance until the ranges are improved.

This chapter didn't feel impactful in my opinion
Probably because the only things it seems to be doing is breaking the game
