yeah but why do they need to cater to killers? They’re OP already

I know right? Legion is SS+ tier meanwhile Clown has ascended past beyond the entity. He's so fast it's literally impossible to get away from him, he's so unfun to go against.

  • >someone presses crouch button repeatedly

    >develop depression

    >feelsbadman

But in all seriousness, don't take things to heart. Just keep practicing and learn to mind game, or start running Brutal Strength and Enduring.

Interesting how a killer destroyed me and a band of SWFs with all 3 DCing.

Made me think this killer was probably bullied as a baby and told to Git Gud by survivors, now he has got Gud they DC on him!?!

Which killer was it? It seems like they were overperforming... Might be time to "modernize" their basekit.

just look the tome quests there is 13 for survivors and 8 for killers... im done with survivors quest i dont play them!!!

What's the problem with survivor challenges? If you don't care to play survivor then that means you don't care for the lore of the survivors, and survivor challenges only unlock survivor lore. You can just do killer challenges. And Devs don't hate killers, they just don't cater to them as much as they do to survivors, but this is only in regards to in game balance. Design and lore wise, they give both equal attention to detail.

  • More 2nd chance perks with no counter play because looping is too hard, nice.

  • As long as that unfun to play against SS+ tier smiley Legion boi gets nerfed, I'm fine with every other killer mentioned getting buffed.

  • Most definitely. Even with most add-ons (including omega blink) she was still balanced, I mean ffs, tires and sharp turns at walls literally negated her power. The only thing that's not balanced about Nurse is her having the add-ons that increase her movement speed, which literally remove the counter play to her.

Every single SWF sweat? Every single one? Not a single SWF group just play for fun and to mess around? Where are you playing because everybody on here talk about these infamous death squads and I havent seen more than maybe 2 or 3 of them in the entire time I've been playing. Sounds like you've lost one too many times and can't blame anything else but the survivors. Usually the "bully groups" you see are altruistic as hell and just want to mess around. Guarantee that most of these groups will get themselves killed because, get this, it's more fun to do dumb things with your friends than it is to hold M1 on a gen.

Every swf past Yellow ranks is sweaty, this is undeniable. The main reason "gen rush" even exists is because of swf, but things like gen times themselves (when two or more people work on a single gen) and map sizes are also contributors of course. Every swf I've come across is either of these:

Extremely sweaty: Multiple toolboxes, at least two DS's, DH's, 3 BT's, and 1 or 2 Unbreakables.

Toxic/bully squads: Tbagging/using emotes at every pallet, window, etc. Constant bodyblocking (bodyblocking when the person hasn't even been on their first hook). Sending hate/salt messages when they lose (not the cheesy Gg2ez,).

Complete potatoes: Practically farming themselves without BT and running into dead zones when there's literally a plethora of pallets with jungle gyms on the sides. Potato plays does not equal casual plays.

I don't lose often, I'm just speaking from personal experience. Every season I get to rank 5 or 6 (I never put in the extra time to get to red ranks as killer since I spend that time to get to rank 1 as a survivor and stay there) as killer since I don't let the toxicity get to me and discourage me from getting better. Toxic/bully squads are what I face half of the time, the other half is just sweaty groups. The bully squads themselves though are rare, or were rare, after the exile of Ochido, but I've seen them come back more often ever since the aftermath of the ST chapter, which is also the same time at which matchmaking got even worse. Due to more nerfs to killers, killers move on, the experienced ones do, so what does that leave? Newbie/baby killers who have minimal understanding of the fundamentals of the game. So red rank survivors, who need killers in order to play, are paired with the newbie/baby killers. What do you think happens? Do these red rank swf's take things easy? No, they still play as they noramlly would, sweaty (since they used to go against experienced killers). The newbies can't keep up because they're not meant to play against these rank 1's, it's like forcing a middle school wrestler to go up against a high school state champion. I adapted, but I had to, in return, play sweaty to keep up with these red ranks, which isn't what I, or the majority of the killers want. As the killer, I want to be the power role, not some empty sack of pixelated cells that hopes that those toolboxes don't have bnp's and wire spools. I want to drag the game out to a reasonable time, make it interesting and actually fun. I don't want to end chases in 5 seconds or drop them too often so I can babysit gens. Win or lose, I want the game to be interesting and longer than 5 minutes. Green and yellow ranks should be able to do this, correct? Nope, thanks to nerfs and horrible matchmaking, they get paired with the most tryhard squads.

Sure, maybe some of the nerfs aren't too bad, this is perfectly debatable, but the fact that killers get consistently nerfed honestly brings down morale amongst the killer community. And these nerfs often do have major impacts in high ranks, because experienced survivors will capitalize on every killer mistake. Now with nerfs, the killers don't even need to make mistakes, the game mechanics themselves are now against them, so say they make one mistake, that's potentially two-three gens popping off right away (two survivors on one gen is 44 seconds, one survivor with green toolboxes and bnp's is around 50 seconds, and if gens are in close proximity to each other, they can quickly hop to another and complete it in the same time period). Now the only way to come back is by using your power to decimate survivors in 1v1 chases, and if the power is nerfed, it's just making things even harder. Any form of casual play at that point is impossible, as any 2nd chances given to survivors will result in an instant gg.

This is what half of swf's try to do, gen rush into oblivion. Either that or take advantage of newbie killers lack of understanding of the game and bully em. I can tell because almost every time I load into a game, survivors act cocky, basically assuming they're going up against baby killers. I easily counter their 360's lunge through pallets and they realize they can't bully me, so they then proceed to try to gen rush me into oblivion. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, either way I make enough strong plays to pip often with 1 or 2 kills. 4K's aren't necessary in my book, and should never be in anyone's book, as it creates entitled attitudes, aka "oMg NO 4K sURviVoRs OP" when they don't even understand why they're OP in the first place and don't care to get better. All in all, casual plays by swf's, are nonexistent in my 6 months of playing on Xbox. Once I started getting paired with green rank swf's and higher, casual plays ceased to exist, unless I wanted to take a fat L and have 4 minute games.

  • It's just a virus, you'll be fine. As others have mentioned, a good immune system should be enough to protect you. A good immune system will always be enough to fight off any sort of viruses, diseases, infections, etc. A lot of the coronavirus stuff is just speculation anyway, blown out of proportion by the media. Don't take mainstream news at face value.

  • Dwight is best girl!

  • Davids are usually the best in chases alongside Neas and Aces. I don't see them blowing gens often. I think you're confusing Davids with baby megs or megheads.

  • Deliverance plus Unbreakable new meta so people can save themselves against selfish players.

  • Blood Warden is already fine as is. Remember Me is already a sufficient perk to halt exit gate progress. This idea sounds more like a nerf than a 'buff' in all honesty. This is the same flawed logic the Devs used with new ruin. You're essentially trying to make a Hex perk a late game perk, which is never possible above yellow ranks, considering people in green ranks and higher already have enough experience to know where every totem spot is coupled with bad totem placements thanks to RNG.

  • Once the Devs finally decide to nerf the most OP killers like Legion and Clown, then we can chill.

Jokes aside though mains ruin the casualness.

  • Gen rush is quite frequent against purple and red rank survivors who have at least a handful of brain cells. Bullying can only be done on baby killers. Any killer with at least one month of experience, cannot be bullied, even by rank 1 swf who have played since 2017. Any killer with common sense and decent mental durability will destroy bully squads. I was rank a 9 Freddy and went against a rank 1 swf on Blood Lodge, they tried to bully me with all the clicky clicks, tbags, flashlight saves (they failed miserably with those), and bodyblocking. The key is to just slug and force survivors to drop pallets early, stop respecting the pallets, just lunge through them. A common misconception is that killers have to respect pallets if they don't have Enduring and/or Spirit Fury, which is false. It's better to shut a loop with a stun in 5-15 seconds than to respect the pallet for 30 seconds. Slugging + Lunging through pallets = Unable to get bullied.

  • EGC was and still is, meant as a quality of life change for killers. The intended effect is to prevent survivors holding the game hostage, which is why the killer can force open the gates. If your goal is to get kills during EGC, I recommend running Bloodwarden, NOED, Remember Me, and Save The Best For Last.

  • People didn't know how to loop her. "ignores game mechanics" *can have her entire power negated by doing sharp turns on walls/tires*

People asked for nerfs because instead of learning the already existing counter play, they just wanted the easy way out.

  • I agree. If survivors can have strong influence on gens with Prove Thyself, toolboxes, and just being able to work on gens together, then it would make sense for killers to have strong influence on gens as well.

  • Nemesis for the speculation that if he were to be introduced, then Jill and and Leon could also be introduced as well. Looping killers to insanity with Leon would definitely become meta. Then again, seeing Leon being able to get killed by some teens with cheap hunting knifes would definitely be weird to see.

  • Got called trash a few months back for getting a 4K mori with Tombstone and infinite tier 3 Myers build on Spirits map. One of the others even went through the trouble to send me a voice message saying "I know how to actually play Myers and could make better plays than you. You took the cheap way out."

  • I get where you're coming from, but voice comms would kill what little decency there is in the game. I'd rather not listen to some big head deep voice dudes with anime profile pictures rage every 5 seconds cause they get downed by the killer (on xbox almost every person with anime profile pics are toxic, shame since I like anime). Then people would also have to deal with those who decide blasting their music through their mic is perfectly fine. Then on xbox, it'd literally be 2012-2014 COD voice chat all over again:

    -Raging squeakers

-Guys with kids/babies crying in the background

    -Static

Not to mention it would promote more toxicity and try hard attitudes. You'd get people trying to tell you what to do 24/7 and asking what build you're running and constantly criticizing you for your play style if it differs from theirs or from the meta. The xbox DBD community does not have enough decency for in game comms. Maybe there'd be a few people here and there who would casually talk but it's doubtful, on xbox at least.

@RobMeister88 fen rush toolboxes are getting nerfed soon, bnp are only 25% of 1 gen, and 1 gen is 20% of gens required to open exit gates. So a bnp is only 5% of the total objective of survivors! Keys are broken, but they are not as bad as moris. The killer can see if the survivor has a key and kill him first.

@hex_genrush lol you think bt is stupid, clearly you are just a tunneler looking for free wins. You are not worth my time arguing. Next!

@animalmake what tells me your not a killer main? And no moris are not fun to go against, having the least skilled player win is not fun, no matter how you tell it.

@toxicitynacl lol I have some things to do in my life, I do not have time to lobby dodge every secret offering from the killer. Also I do not want to risk dodging a yellow mori or a shroud of separation.

@Yng slug see the explaination pf the answer to robmeister to understand why moris are worse than keys.

25% of a gen instantly is broken as hell. That's 20+ seconds of gen time shaved off immediately. And most people in high ranks work on gens in pairs at a time so with two people, a BNP can get a gen done in less than 40 seconds. And keys are the equivalent of moris. If anything, Keys are more broken since they require no effort in order to reap the benefits from it. At least with moris some form of work is required to get use out of it. With moris, killers still have to chase and down survivors. A good survivor will waste more than 30 seconds of a killer's time at a decent loop, which is already around 90% of a gen done with 2 people working on it, and a whole gen done if one of the survivors has a BNP. With keys, you can just stay immersed the whole game until the hatch spawns. And I wouldn't exactly call new toolboxes nerfs, they're actually getting speed buffs. All it takes is charge and efficiency add-ons and they can last for at least 50% of a gen. Plus, regardless of charges, if two survivors work on a gen, which is normally 44 seconds, new toolboxes will reduce that to give or take 30 seconds.

  • I think we can all thank Ochido and his toxic cult following for the negative reputation Claudette has received. Can't really blame the killers, there's still plenty of P3 Blendette Ochido wannabes out there, it's just unfortunate that some killers don't pay attention to detail as to what survivors do and don't do.

  • Two can play it that game. Do you think BNP's are balanced? What about keys? Toolboxes? All of those things throw the game off balance with competent survivors. In all honesty, Moris, BNP's, and Keys should be removed or massively nerfed.

  • People who only play survivor just want the game to be an Ochido simulator. They don't play killer so they're only concerned about their experience and when it comes to discussing balance, they only focus on things that would be positive for them. I only tbag to sacrifice myself for someone else, and I'm surprised at how much it works. Killer can get two kills in endgame but he sees me tbagging and goes for me, he buys into the bait.

  • R.I.P. all the green-yellow rank killers who face red rank swf with toolboxes. Knockout needs a buff to help with slugging. Survivors in the dying state recover at 50% of the normal recovery rate. Because if new sabo becomes meta, the only counter will be slugging.

  • Tombstone Piece Myers with J. Myers Memorial or Fragrant Tuft of Hair with J. Myers Memorial with Ebony Mori, problem solved. I understand you probably want to just play casually but trust me, these builds will take down even the most experienced rank 1 swf with thousands of hours.

  • If they nerf Billy, then it's tombstone piece Myers and/or infinite tier 3 w/ebony mori from here on out. I don't expect the Devs to listen to reason, just complaints that will reel them in more money.

  • BNP, Keys, Toolboxes, Flashlights = Casual players just looking to have fun

    Tunnel/slug/camp = Toxic sweaty try-hard.

    Feelsdoublestandardman

  • Tall girl always equals best girl

  • If the Devs actually nerf Billy, be it his base kit or add-ons, then I don't know how people could defend them after that. Anyone who actually thinks Billy needs a nerf has no logical reason as to why he needs to be nerfed. Literally hiding behind anything negates the one shot aspect of his power. All anyone has to do is to just stand behind something instead of panicking and running out in the middle of nowhere when they hear the chainsaw. The amount of threads I see where people legitimately think Billy needs nerfs is appalling. Entitled yellow ranks are ruining the game. Devs shouldn't take any complaints (regarding balance, not other issues like bugs) from people below purple or green ranks seriously. And anyone past green ranks who complains about Billy being too strong should just go play something else or play civilization. I understand everyone has their own opinions but opinions should never be deemed more important than facts. Billy can never be too strong because he has a plethora of counterplay to him.

    -Hiding behind objects

    -Juking/360'ing

-Looping (even insta chainsaw is weak against a competent looper, even at a T-L)

-Not standing out in the middle of nowhere, aka using common sense

The cries for Billy nerfs need to stop.

But to answer the OP, here's what I predict:

They'll nerf him to the point where the amount of Billy players will significantly drop, like Spirit and Nurse. Either they'll do one or even multiple of these:

-Slap a cooldown on Billy's chainsaw

    -Make him refuel his chainsaw

-Nerf his movement speed while using chainsaw

-Prevent add-ons stacking with each other

-Remove his best add-ons or nerf them to the point where they won't even be worth buying anymore

-Nerf his base speed to make him a 110 or even 100 killer

  • Todd Howard.

Mori's every survivor 10 seconds off of first hook.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

Rob, this is about aesthetics, not nerfs or buffs.

It was just a joke, plus a default fortnite dance for cowboy jake would be the best.

  • We need more nerfs. Nerf Legion, he's too OP. Why? He just is. Nerf Clown, he's too fast, not fair. Nerf Billy, I like to walk in the middle of nowhere in peace.

Hell let's also nerf survivors. From now on windows get blocked after one use and survivors are forced to drop pallets early so they can't loop them.

Also I want Fortnite default dance for my cowboy Jake.

  • Billy and his add-ons are perfectly balanced, anything else is just people who probably got one shot by sniper billy or couldn't use T-L's to their advantage. As long as people don't get caught in dead zones, there's literally nothing to worry about with Billy. His chainsaw is mainly just for mobility purposes, if someone gets consistently downed by his chainsaw, they just need to start learning how to loop and not stay in dead zones for too long.

  • I'm just gonna wait for the pseudo-sarcastic comments and the entitled "i pLaY hOW I wANnA PLaY i BOuGHt tHE gAmE" responses.

  • Solo gen speed isn't a problem, it's the speed when two or more people work on it that's the problem. Instead of drastically cutting gen times with multiple people working on gens, it should only be 5% speed progression for each 2nd person on the gen. So 80 seconds for one person, around 75 for 2 people, around 64 for 3 people, and around 52 for 4 people. And nerf Prove Thyself to only a 5% bonus speed progression instead of 10%. It'd be more practical and balanced than just nerfing/buffing 1v1 aspects of chases which is apparently the only thing Devs think they need to balance around, when it's common knowledge that even if you down someone in 10 seconds, two gens can still pop off simultaneously.

  • I knew it. I always see at least two decisives, dead hards, and BT's in my games if everyone is red rank.

  • It's basically heading back into the dark times. Give the game a few more months and I bet all my Salty Lips that the Devs are gonna pull another 1.9.2. Swf buff with new sabo, FTP, etc.

    -Insta sabos

-Faster toolbox repair speeds (what a nerf, it's not like Wire Spool and Scraps/Instructions exist)

-Breakout and MoM to synergize with insta sabos which will make baby killers wanna mori themselves and force experienced casual killers to make slugfests

I honestly don't see how anyone can see this as being healthy for the game. All we can do is just do what we've always had to do, rely on the mistakes of survivors in order to gain momentum. Good luck trying to get red rank swf with 1000+ hours of experience to make more than 1 mistake the whole match.

  • I honestly thought this was gonna be a wholesome post saying something like "hi guys I'm new to the game, I love it, what tips do you guys have?" etc. But no, it's another nerf Billy thread. Killer mains after seeing this post:

Ah #########, here we go again.

But in all seriousness, learn how to loop and hide behind objects when you hear him revving his chainsaw, he's quite easy to loop. Look up No0b3 or Tru3ta1ent, their looping capabilities are superb and easy to comprehend.

    in Hi Comment by RobMeister88
  • David could take all 4 of them on solo, as could Ash, Bill, Jeff, and Tapp and here's why. (this is if Legion wasn't buffed by the entity)

David: The guy is more built than Zeus and knows how to actually fight, where as Legion needs weapons to bully people. Realistically, David would knock them all out with one punch, plus he always has a spare set of brass knuckles when things get too rough, so it'd even things up with the whole 4v1 with knives situation.

Ash: Anyone who's watched Ash vs Evil Dead already knows he can win easily. The guy kills deadites for a living. Ash would floor Legion with his left pinky.

Bill: Before killing thousands of zombies, Bill was a soldier in Vietnam, and not just an average soldier, he was special forces, special forces. He'd have no problem with hand to hand (or knife) combat.

Jeff: Judging from his build and his perk Breakdown, this guy's physical strength must be off the charts. Jeff can break metal hooks. I don't even wanna imagine how the snapping of bones would sound if he got a hold on one of the Legion members.

Tapp: Guy's a police officer, ain't no way he won't be able to defend himself against amatuer thugs.

Now if we give our survivors their rightful weapons, well, let's just say there's a reason why the Entity doesn't allow survivors to have weapons in the first place.

  • Kindred basekit is basically a dollar version of swf, yet it'd still throw the game off balance. Just make it to where Kindred overrides Insidious and then bad plays won't be rewarded. I mean yes Bubba practically needs to camp to secure kills against decent survivors but ffs, rewarding camping is like rewarding immersed survivors, it shouldn't be possible.

  • Casual Play style

    Swf

Pick one, because both of them together don't exist. Swf always have either of these two goals; Ochido bully simulator or sweaty try hard plays. 2 gens popping when one chase just begins is not casual plays. People wonder why most killers are sweaty now a days and it's because of swf. It amazes me as to how swf who bring multiple toolboxes and flashlights and keys are considered casual players yet a killer who tunnels here and there is considered a tryhard. Swf has essentially killed most killers' casual nature. I love to make games long and interesting, I don't want to off everyone in 5 minutes, but at the same time, I'm not too keen on having 2 gens done by the time I get my first hook. I hate playing sweaty but in order to stand a chance against swf I have to, and it sucks. Swf past yellow ranks throws the game off balance, no two ways around it. Constant information (which removes the mind game and thrill to the game), clear communication which leaves room for no mistakes, and constant synergy between the team. Not saying swf needs to be removed but there's no such thing as casual swf past yellow ranks. Completing all the gens in 5 minutes is not casual.

  • They just need to revert 80% of the nerfs to killers and fix gen times. And by gen times I'm not talking about solo gen time (80 seconds is fair), I'm talking about gen times when multiple people work on a single gen. Two people equals 44 seconds, three takes around 36, and 4 is 28 seconds. They should make it to where instead of reducing the time of repairing when multiple people work on a gen, make it to where great skill checks reduce the rate of regression a generator suffers when it's kicked, up to a minimum of regressing at 0.10 charges per second.

  • Most people play swf because they're not good at the game, simple as that. And they get huge advantages so there's also that. Most people don't have what it takes to make the best out of a bad situation so they just bring their crutch buddies with em and play ultra sweaty. Swf has essentially killed casual gameplay.

  • About to be on my 6th month of playing the game, and I've actually done plenty of research from the history of the game to see why the game is in the current state it's in. Of course in this journey of research I found out about Marth88's depip squad. From what I gathered, it really goes to show how powerful a 4 man swf can be. If all they focus on is just gens, then there's not much the killer can do about it. You can be a legend in the 1v1, but dbd is not about the 1v1. Of course this was common knowledge to the playerbase, but the Devs acted like they didn't know, and pretended that swf didn't throw the game off balance, which is why Marth did the experiment in the first place.
