if you're trying to maximize blood point gains, as silly as this may sound to new and experienced players alike, understand that this is the way:
play survivor.. solo..
spend every second you are alive in a game doing something that gives you blood points. don't go hide every time you hear a heartbeat.
look for other players to do cooperative actions with, even tho some think it's bad..
when you get killed, and you will most games, do not spectate. just start a new game.
explanation:
you are not going to win every match, you just aren't. especially being new and not having many perks. the longer you are in a match, the less points you are making. the more safely you play, the less time you're spending getting points, and the more time you are going to be alive, hoping for a whopping 5-7k payout at the end.
struggling on hook for 60 seconds gives you a maximum of 892 blood points, not even 1000. you can get 1000 blood points for breaking a totem in the next game. the minute you spend struggling on the hook can get you to your next game that much faster. more games per hour = more points earned per hour..
newer killers with or without BBQ may have issues finding people, getting hits & hooks, etc. and the killer is the one who has to stay in the game until all 4 survivors are settled in some way, either dead or escaped.
you can also use survivor perks straight away to help you gain points quicker. dwight would be a good survivor to start with because you can immediately equip Prove Thyself for up to 100% bonus bp for all cooperative actions. david's we're gonna live forever perk is another great perk for bloodpoint gains, but it depends on how many save unhooks and protection hits you can take, and that won't be very many in the beginning.
good luck out there in the fog! go get paid!
"struggling on hook for 60 seconds gives you a maximum of 892 blood points, not even 1000. you can get 1000 blood points for breaking a totem in the next game. the minute you spend struggling on the hook can get you to your next game that much faster. more games per hour = more points earned per hour"
I hope more survivors start to realise that, it would make my killer games easier.
You killers are so stresses out. I set my objective to make sure no survivor escapes the match by any means necesary, no to rank up.
I am happy as long as the Entity or myself bathe in their blood. If in the end the Entity is displeased with my methods, I could not care less.
-
My advise: Hunt those achievements when they make them a little easier ;-)
I don't like to play in a way that benefits survivors:
If I can instadown, I will.
If a survivor is sacrificed on first hook, so be it.
If a survivor is unhooked next to me and they don't have DS, they will be back to the hook right away.
I have never EVER had a 0% Hook proximity penalty.
I have fun every time, that's the greatest achievement of them all :-D
Try going for the one where you have to kill everyone with The Shape or down people from far away with The Huntress, those could be challenging and fun.
-
You can think that they were inspired by that post.
And I can think that they laugh at my silly comments, but never respond or give their approval because they don't want to encourage the over the top killer behavior that I promote.
-
If you bring a perk that breaks you, be prepared to run or hide.
-
I love this game too. I like it when they disconect. All that time, all that effort.... for NOTHING!
-
Freddy has always been top tier, my favorite, the best since day 1! :-)
He being here is the reason I bought this game in the first place.
I don't care about tier lists. Just play with whichever killer you like, know their strenghts and weaknesses, practice a while and you will be fine.

@RoKrueger Mexican here, it's a shame, and it wouldn't have mattered for me if you're a lame survivor, I'm used to carry and I play SWF for fun only, I main killer so... When surv I only play for the pips and love being chased all match
Hopefully we'll get crossed platforms someday, I'd love to play with PC players and feel the hardness of a PC Nurse main. Here on XBOX the toughest killer to play against is Spirit, and sadly almost no one knows how to use her even at red ranks... And Freddy, if I'm the one using him, lol. The post game messages cause of my end game build for him are hilarious
The second cross platform becames available I will add you ;-)
Sigue haciendo sufrir a esos ridículos "sobrevivientes"!

@RoKrueger what platform do you play on? I'm asking cause based on your usual comments and the fact that you're a regular here on forums I'd like to play some SWF with you cause you seem to have my tipe of humour (dark). XBOX here btw
Thanks for your kind words @Carlosylu
Sadly I play on PC and from Argentina. So we won't have the pleasure of playing toghether :-(
Lucky for you, as I have stated before that I am pretty lame as a survivor player :-P
-
Those hateful comments are part of the fun!
You get to laugh at their anger, taste their salty tears, dance to the sound of their hateful screams!!!!
When the one bothering you is the one who escaped, just mention that they could not saved their friends and ignore anything else they write ;-)
Play again and keep having fun, noone can mess with your fun unless you let them
-
Hahaha. I like to read about when survivors squirm
-
Once or twice.
I get called "camper" or "tunneler" much, MUCH more. Maybe because, unlike hacking, I do camp and tunnel.
-
That's so sad. Who cares about people who are like that?

A fair few times I've been told things I shouldn't repeat here. But, I've had people threaten to find out where I live...
I have been asked where I live by a sore loser once.
My answer was: "Ask your mother, she knows"
-
The status could be called "Covered in jelly" and the description would still be the same. New players will just read the descriptions (or get instadowned) and accept the weird names like we all did.
Am I the only one that will not treat new players differently and will just try to kill all survivors like I normaly do?
-
Just use NOED like a normal killer. It helps combat the gens being done too fast

I love the post game chat. I laugh my lungs out at the insults of those entitled babies. Have fun there too. Remind them who is boss! ;-)
-
Here is a picture of a survivor's action figure:
-
My favorite streamers to go against are the ones whose Steam user names are the same as their channel, stream live and only put 5 or 10 seconds delay.
I don't remember any of their names, I only care about them for the duration of the match ;-)
-
Sometimes the exits appear far from each other, sometimes they appear close to each other.
Sometimes the killer will just kill you, it should not be easy to escape.
Play again, do better next time.
-
That's what Blood Warden is for

A bp reward system would be neat. Encourage people to not be complete dick heads and basically reward each other with bonus bp. Little kudos system that awards like idk 10k per player? It'd be less heavy handed than some new report and ban system. Obviously it'd have to be balanced, swf not being able to give eachother bonus bp since that'd defeat the purpose on the survivor side. Indirectly it'd encourage solo play, people would want their bp and wouldn't be completely and utterly toxic knowing it'd result in less BP than usual.
All around it'd spread pretty good vibes from both survivor and killer, help everyone realize it's a symbiotic relationship keeping the game alive. Idk why people can't seem to figure that out.
More Bloodpoints are nice, I prefeer the Salt Reward System we have though.
I love to recieve a Steam comment where some sore loser wishes some disease to a member of my family, just because they could not get their little avatar escape a horrible death in a video game.
-
Unbreakable! That's the one! I don't remember all the survivor perks' names. I suck as a survivor too, you know.
I guess that if you don't want to try to get a little better or equip perks that could be useful, you can keep on complaining on the forums, you are already doing that pretty well.
-
I laugh so hard at the post game chat after no survivor could escape :-D
So much hatred!
So much despair!
Their petty threats and insults amuse me.

That's fine too, but you should try to follow the golden rule: "Treat others how you would like to be treated" :-)
When I play survivor I want the real slasher movie experience: I want to try to escape a relentless monster. I hate it when a killer just gives up and allows me to escape. So I think I follow that golden rule just fine ;-)
-
I just like the game. I like to play survivor sometimes. Also most of my friends don't like DbD.
-
You seem to get caught a lot, work on that. Also you can consider equip No Mither or that Bill's perk that lets you get up by yourself (I hate that perk)
-
I would not use it, I want fresh victims.
-
What do you mean? Are there matches without toxicity?
-
Just play the game and don't think about it. Before you know it you will have lots of those shardy thingies
-
I love it that, when frenzied, you can hit a hooked survivor nonstop for the duration of your power :-)

No, like I said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/652604#Comment_652604
I seen many posts from you, and it's okay if you want to sacrifice survivors, it's not against the rules. However, if you are feeling nice and can afford to, then give it a thought to give second chances.
Sometimes I have to sacrifice every survivor because the rank system calls for a 4K at red ranks. However, if I can't afford to give out second chances, I usually (25% of the time) send a nice message to the survivors who I take early.
"Sorry, I need to sacrifice everyone because I'm at red ranks."
"GG, sorry for taking you out early, I needed to because it's very demanding to rank up as the killer."
If you don't want to do anything above, that's okay! However, I encourage everyone not to be a bad sport by BMing survivors such as hitting them repeatedly on the hook because it could cause them to take offense of that. The last thing we all want are people getting toxic towards each other, ya know?
This also applies to the survivors, I usually let inexperienced killers kill/sacrifice me (but they usually down me and drop me at the Exit Gates anyways ☹)
Nah. Im the opposite of you:
I like to hit the last survivor on the hook as a frenzied Legion because they do not stop (don't patch that please).
I once carried the last survivor around the map for five minutes looking for the hatch. When I found it, I dropped they only to mori them right there next to it ;-)
I have so much fun with this game!
-
I am a killer main and I never complain when I play survivor and get a taste of my own medicine ;-)
As I always say: It is the survivor's fault for being found and caught. Be better at stealth and/or getting away. Also bring better perks and items.
-
Stop caring about what the survivors have to say at the chat besides "GG".
When they start their insults and report threats just ignore them or laugh at them (to laugh at them is funnier)
-
I would love "The gang" from Scooby Doo in the form of original survivors skins. That would be so cool.
-
@NMCKE said:
Honestly, if players would consider each other as people rather than just survivors or killers, this game would be a whole lot better.
For example: Just recently, this pig let me live. She didn't need to let me live because she earned her sacrifice fair and square. However, she decided to be nice to me, which really brighten my day! :)
https://xboxclips.com/NMCKE/ef9b5805-de4a-4614-8ab6-5abcdb363336
I'm not sure if she remembers me when I let her live as a survivor, but if so, as you can see, the community can improve if we go out of our way to give others a good time. :)
So the killer is considered NICE if they let you escape?
I hope not many killers care about what the prey feels. Try to kill them all! You will have the respect of the Entity and mine ;-)

When you see weird things and inconsistencies like that.... The Entity did it.
-
I am the Guardian of NOED. I visit every post that attack NOED and state firmly for all to see:
.... Cut it out! NOED is fine. Cleanse totems.
-
It hurts my heart to know there are killers like you who care about survivors having second chances, not getting frustrated, have.....fun?
Why do you do that? Have fun yourself and the survivors will have fun with the stressfull "I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE THIS GUY IS GOING TO KILL MEEEEE" experience.

When you click play survivor you already lost the game. You can only win by hitting killer before the game starts. Killers are not only broken but unethical, and the lack of mechanics to prevent it is pathetic
.....ok. I will let others reply to that, you have left me speechless ;-)

You're incredibly delusional towards the reality of things. You must be new or never play survivor.
Please enlighten us! What is that "reality of things" you mention?

Most of the community should care about new survivors experience. And how ebony moris and purple addons can really ruin that experience (let alone facecamping)
With me they get to experience what is like being the first victim of a Slasher film. LOL.
Chill. I think you can't go below rank 15 once you are past that, is that right? And Im not a smurf, so new players will be fine playing with other new players.

You need an ebony mori to have fun at rank 15 while you're already getting consistent 78% 4k ratios?
I don't know about the numbers, I enjoy the animations :-)

@TheRockstarKnight said:
Because as of now I'm really underwhelmed.
Like, even Left Behind has a purpose: it exists to make Escape easier as the last Survivor. It's useless now because the Hatch always spawns but it has a purpose; a reason to exist and for you to use it.
Comraderie increases the duration of struggle state when a Survivor is near in order to...? Do what?
If a Killer is camping you they aren't exactly going to leave because you're taking a little longer to die (definitely not if they know this perk exists), and those extra seconds aren't going to make it any safer to unhook you while the Killer is desperately trying to figure out your eye color. So it doesn't help you if you're getting camped.
If your teammates are super immersed or gen-focused and just leave you to die it's not like this perk will save you or help you. It only triggers if someone is nearby and it's effect only helps if someone is actively attempting to save you. So it doesn't help if you get left to die by your teammates.
As far as I can see this entire perk seems to exist only to help save your life if Nea misjudges how much time she has to get to you before you get Sacrificed.
Someone please correct me if I have this wrong.
"...while the Killer is desperately trying to figure out your eye color"
That made me laugh. Good one. I will try to do that ;-)

@MySpaceBarsBroken_YT said:
Ultra rare Ebony moris and ultra rare addons should only be usable at higher ranks
It would also incentivise ranking up!!
Now that's just mean. Let the killers have fun at every rank ;-)

@RoKrueger You don't have to be a SWAT team to have a huge advantage over the killer. When I play SWF, we don't bring items and (except for BT) we also usually don't run those perks which are often considered "too strong".
We don't run strong builds and I would never consider us a SWAT team. Yet the killers have a hard time and usually lose.
Good for you. You win some, you lose some. Sometimes you get a Nurse that hits you after every blink and some times you get a Doctor that never leaves Treatment mode.
-
Not all SWF groups are super coordinated SWAT Teams.
My friends and I for example, we just play for fun and 75% of the time we end up all dead, we have mostly a great time anyway.
As a killer I have come across some bad, bad SWF groups myself. Like I hook one of them and in less than 4 minutes I have the rest of them crawling on the floor next to the hooked one kind of bad.
The realy hard part if noone escape is to keep up with their insults at the chat. Sometimes I can't make fun of every one of them, I can't respond to all of them in time and it's hard to maintain the conversations :-S
-
When I find a SWF group (I check their profile to see if they are friends with each other) I know I have a too altruistic group I can exploit.
Just try to catch the least talented one and camp it. The others will probably come like flies to honey. If not, you will at least have to deal with 3 of them instead of 4.
Remember you can't win them all and have fun
