They rolled this one out quick because of the Killswitch. 3 hotfixes for a patch are pretty rare.
-
The tail hitbox is kind of buggy at the moment. Hopefully fixes will come soon-ish.

"The mori was already changed for survivor benefit"
Are you trying to say 1 hook moris were balanced?
That aside, you have complete agency over what you do. You can play the game how you want. If you want to hard tunnel and camp, go for it. However, the people you're playing against also have the right to complain about it if they so please. It's your choice whether you actually listen to them or not, though.
It seems like your main complaint isn't about your choices as a player, it's the reactions that your opponents have, and you can't change those. You can ignore them, but you can't expect people to not get upset if they find the way you play frustrating.
-
Skull Merchant feels super underwhelming right now. It's way too hard to get Claw Traps on at all.

The team is aware of the issue and they are working on a solution.
How long are the servers expected to be down for?
-
The new system won't remove camping as a whole (at least that's not the idea). They just don't want you standing next to the hook for 60 seconds straight.
Also I don't get how the basekit Unbreakable thing supports your argument when they realized the effect it would have on slugging and scrapped it.

The Background Player buff is nice, but the Furtive Chase "buff" ultimately doesn't solve the reason behind people not running the perk.
-
When a Survivor is detected by a Guard, they will leave a banner at the point of detection after they fly over there.
The banner isn't active until the horn sound plays, at which point a Survivor can run into the banner to despawn the Guard, and gain a brief burst of speed and endurance.
Only the Survivor that is being chased by the Guard can pick up the banner.
-
No, it only reveals Survivors performing the Healing action.
-
It's "Hide other player names" in the Online section of settings.
-
Map Achievements are fine as long as they are "do x thing and escape".
They are not fine when they are "do x thing and escape 20 times on the same map".
-
I don't think they're going to make them separate maps. They're just going to move some things around sometimes.
Also, Map selection is done by realm first, so even if they did double the number of maps in the Macmillan realm, the chance of going to a Macmillan map would still be the same.

I can shed some light on those:
- Survivors show up on the radar for a few seconds whenever they are scanned.
- They also show up on the radar whenever they have a Claw Trap for the entire time they have the trap.
- The Haste effect works the same way. You'll only get a short burst of Haste when a Survivor is scanned without getting trapped, but that can still make a big difference in a loop.
Thank you for the fast response, appreciate it. That eases my concerns a lot.
Another question: Can you still manually recall Drones when they are deactivated?

same for Background player, both perks are still useless
I think the Background Player buff is good, as the perk wasn't actually terrible beforehand. It actually had a use case unlike Furtive.
-
It looks good so far, but I have a couple of concerns mainly surrounding how often the scanner will come into play:
@ReverseVelocity said:
I really like the look of the Skull Merchant's rework so far, but I have one main concern about it.
It really seems like her scanner isn't going to be useful at all anymore. With the removal of Active Zones and Claw Traps only showing the Survivors on the Scanner for a short duration, when will her scanner come into play? It seems like it won't be used much if at all, which is a shame considering it's an iconic part of the Killer.
Also, how will the passive Haste effect be handled? If the Survivors won't show up on the Scanner as much, will this also reduce the effectiveness of the Haste?
I put them in a separate thread before I saw this one.
-
Yeah, it's quite frustrating. The Terror Radius effect is next to useless and slightly increasing it won't add to the perk at all.
-
The rework didn't do anything balance wise, though, it's just a new coat of paint.
-
Bubba really doesn't care about Endurance.

Gunna have to use flashbangs and the like to try this.
No, you have to be running Residual Manifest, which is currently Killswitched.

@Caiman said:
If you're so good at looping, you should have no trouble outrunning the killer to the exit gates instead of begging the game to give you a freebie because "I deserve it!"
The way the game works, the killer will almost certainly eventually down you, regardless of how good you are.
That said if you're running the killer for that long it shouldn't be that hard for your team to double save or even trade against them.

Skull Merchant is probably the original killer that could benefit from voice lines the most. She could have the most perfect ######### talking and cheesy reference lines (since she’s basically a weeb). Like her voice line potential is insane.
also indeed hoping they focus on her chase more, but then again, i’m also praying they don’t freddy her and all of her old playstyle and kit is gone and she’s just only an anti-loop character.
She could be the first bilingual character, with voice lines in both Portugese and Japanese perhaps.

ok. we had freddy as a terrible one. literally the worst thing they ever did.
billy was bad.
bubba was a great one, so was doctor. hate clown but his reworked bottles are good.
to me that's a 60/40. what other killers got actual reworks? my memory fails me rn
Legion and Ghostface got good reworks. Trickster as well (but that one was smaller in general).
-
Yeah, same honestly. I really like playing her (and not in a way that makes the game last for an hour).
I hope they lean more into buffing the info/chase aspect of her while toning down her 3 gen potential. Drones could end up being a means to get Claw Traps onto Survivors primarily, which would buff her Chase power significantly and give her tracking.
However, currently, the Claw Traps aren't good enough to warrant a flat nerf to her Drones. She will really need counterbuffs, which I hope will be included with her rework.
Also they should give her voice lines.
-
It's really cool but the developer's decisions in general are really concerning for the health of the game.
-
You're probably noticing the missed attacks more, as the cooldown didn't really mean much beforehand.
-
Those are the same ones as usual. They're quotes from the movie.
-
They have literally confirmed a nerf for MFT...

Isn't it almost 3s for a full charge at 77% movement speed without any addons.
Yeah. 1.25s for a minimum charge, 3s for a full charge.
They kind of work in opposite ways. For Huntress the Windup is more punishing but the Cooldown is more generous. For Xenomorph the Windup is pretty much instant but the Cooldown is more punishing.

They both put you in the exact lose-lose situations. The bias in the DBD community is insane.
Huntress actually has a significant windup. They are quite literally not the same.

Alien: moves 2m/s for 3 seconds after missing... also has a 5m range
Huntress: moves 3m/s for 2 seconds after missing... has unlimited range
Ah yes let's nerf Alien because that is op!
I don't think Huntress can throw out a Hatchet in 0.2 seconds.

The flashbang user in the corner:

Legion. I like vaulting fast and stabbing. I guess the info part of Legion's power bares some resemblance to Freddy, and I'm a fan of info/macro based killers overall, which Freddy was.
I would buy the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter 20 times over if it meant I could play Old Freddy again. I'm not joking.

Blocked gens have always been able to regress with perks such as Pain Res but they do not regress with passive regression - killers can't kick them, Hex Ruin doesn't work on them. It's the instant regression that works, that's by design and has always supposed to work in that way.
Doesn't "a blocked generator cannot change its progress" specifically mean that this shouldn't work?

One of them got nerfed. The other has not.
I mean Paint Brush hasn't been changed since the Freddy rework.

You have to click the flashlight to enter the locker, so I think so.

The bug was discovered over a weekend, when nobody was working.
I'd imagine we'll see some kind of killswitch soon.

but they added the option to select your fps in game instead of editing game files
Damn nevermind then

That would just be clunky and annoying. A lot of loops you have to take tightly in this game and it'd intefere with that a lot.

Love the Fortune Teller idea. Maurice should just be an animation interaction, like Jonesy.
If anything you could combine them, as it would make more sense for the Fortune Teller. Once per trial a survivor can pull the lever to acquire a random item, with a random BP event score. No reason why it needs to have a killer equivalent, the secret room on Nostromo doesn't. Could always add a killer interaction elsewhere.
Gideon Meat Plant could have more 'games' in it. Each of the rooms with props from the movie could have an interactable trap in it. Survivors can 'arm' them, some will serve to slow the killer down if they pass by, but one of them, at random, will injure the survivor as they arm it instead.
Lerys should have something in the central room that makes survivors scream.
I'm pretty sure Maurice already makes noises and moves his head when you get near him. I just think it would be nice to be able to pet Maurice, he's been sat there for so long without pets, my boy needs some.
I think having both roles have a chance to interact with the same thing in slightly different ways is a good idea, since it stops anyone from feeling left out due to the role they play, especially if it's something like giving bloodpoints (something that's a little more complicated than just giving bp is a different deal though).
I like the Gideon idea, but I think it'd be more suited to a killer interaction for the most part. The freezer room could work sort of like how the coolant pipes do and be for both roles. The pig vat could have rotating blades (which would apply deep wound) inside the hole that trigger when someone drops down, and is armed by the killer using the button nearby.
I mean, considering the franchise, they could go absolutely crazy and litter the map with different types of traps from the movies. There's a lot of potential for sure.
-
They're probably not going to fix this because the game is meant to be locked at 60 fps for some reason.

Just as Info, the projectilespeed is as fast as huntress when its fully charged (both 40 m/s). Since Huntress can use addons, with addons her axe can is faster as Deathslingers projectile
Yeah, I am aware. Huntress requires a long charge period to reach those speeds though, whereas Slinger's is always that fast in a fraction of the time.

Bugs being bannable feels like it's always been wildly inconsistent
This seems like a situation where this bug would be bannable (you're never going to accidentally do this bug) but we can only guess as BHVR works in mysterious ways
It's mainly dependant on if you're breaking a rule in tandem by using a bug.
For example: Sitting in an area where the killer physically cannot reach you for an extended period of time (like here) would count as holding the game hostage.
I think that's the reasoning they used for the Infinite Mending Legion bug being bannable as well. The mend times were so long that it classed as a hostage situation.
-
I think adding this to Rickety Chain would be a good idea. Deathslinger's projectile is already so fast that making it even faster would be kind of insane, but having the downside of the Rickety Chain to balance it out could be the way to go.
Plus it makes sense practically. A lighter chain would make the Spear travel faster.
-
I don't think having an active ability is really necessary. Just make it silent with no penalty.
-
I would much rather have OG Freddy.
-
It's a pretty good perk but doesn't really do anything if you get hard tunneled off the hook. It's good just in case you get caught out by the killer before you can get a heal or something.
@KerJuice said:
I prefer the original Off the Record than this rework. Sometimes I wish we could choose which version of a perk we can use- like OG Ruin vs. the re-work we have now. Or make it OG Ruin is Tier 3 and what we have now is cosidered Tier 1 or 2 of the perk "Ruin."
Off the Record still does the exact same thing as it did on release though. The Endurance was added on top of the existing effects.

No, it's been listed as "Not a Bug" on the forums.

I just hope it gets toned down appropriately and not absolutely destroyed.

The entire, “I don’t agree with this politicians anti-LGBT stance, but I support them on other things,” is disingenuous. You still end up supporting anti-LGBT stances; it’s not like when you vote you say, “I vote for Candidate A on these things, but Candidate B on these others.”
He may not “support” their anti-LGBT policies, but he’s still willing to sacrifice LGBT people to them in order to get the “good” policies he wants. And sorry, but if someone tells me my human rights are not as important as their tax bill or whatever, I’m going to think that person sucks.
This.
Also he didn't just vote for them, he threw as much money as legally possible to their campaigns.
