  • Does it? I thought the lunge would just get eaten by dead hard like killer special attacks.

"How do we make a character with a highly unbelievable and cartoon-y ability along with a story filled with confusing moments that make no sense, and also somehow manages to mock the real life tragedy that it was trying to shed a light on?"

He literally bombs civilians and doesn't care. Not to mention he spits in the face of what The Artist was supposed to represent.

    https://youtu.be/Is0BL9ucUaU

If you want to learn more about why Jonah sucks, I recommend you watch this video made by @PixelBush.

The guy in the video glosses over some important aspects of Jonah's lore to support his whole horrible evil irredeemable CIA war criminal reading. The way he words it, you'd think Jonah dropped the bombs himself with a big grin on his face and then sent taunting letters to the grieving families. The rebels in his story are not good guys, they used civilians as meat shields by deliberately including civilian whereabouts as decoys. The CIA had no way of knowing that this would occur, and it is ultimately due to the rebels that those civilians lost their lives in the first place. Jonah is just a small part of why it happened. The person who dropped the bombs is just as, if not more responsible than he is, as he just decided the messages. Pretending he's worse than the killer cast is just ridiculous.

And a good portion of Jonah's lore is based around him struggling to deal with being somewhat responsible for the deaths of those civilians. Just because he doesn't have an artist level "oh boo hoo my entire life is defined by meaningless tragedy" three paragraphs of mopey introspection in his lore doesn't mean he's not deeply wracked by it - it's mentioned a lot in his lore and flavour text. He's not going to embezzle money from the CIA because it is the rebels who put civilians in the line of fire. And sure, the CIA struck the decoys, but they are involved in a war and of course you are going to try to kill people in a war, that's a major part of it. Every soldier in history is a terrible terrible person by that logic, which is ridiculous.

The whole Pinochet reading works fine with artist, I don't think it works here, and I don't think it's even intended in the first place as it's never mentioned outright, alluded to, or even given a substitute Pinochet character to avoid the being of controversy. Jonah's lore isn't fantastic, but it's extremely overhated and I feel people just like to dogpile on it without really reading or thinking about it because "he CIA bad man ugly I don't like him".

  • Gideon isn't even good for survivor unless your team is godly. Having a bunch of pallets doesn't mean squat when +60% of killers can bypass pallets, break pallets fast, hit you over the pallet, etcetera, and when they're gone the map has literally nothing else. Anyone who thinks Gideon is survivor sided hasn't played against nemesis, bubba or trickster on it, to name only a few.

  • They'll probably just be removed. Can't wait for all the sweatlords to spam use ebonies every game. Fun times lol

  • 1. No, he's already got a really high kill rate if I remember, free map pressure with zombies and is almost unloopable if he uses the drag exploit, so he doesn't need any buffs.

    2. Yeah, they said so in the anniversary stream.

    3. I think he'll have a different type of zombie, maybe lickers or something, and some kind of super-speed power like in resi 5. Maybe you hold down the power button and he stands still, and a path appears that you can control the direction of, and when you release the button he zooms along that path and hits/breaks anything in it. Maybe he'll just be a zombie summoner killer with lots of different types, like zombies and lickers and hunters and maybe even A.I. controlled tyrants. I don't know. There's so many better options they could've gone with. Why Wesker, the generic evil agent over Mr X or Lady Dimitrescu or Jack Baker or Birkin or anyone else.

    "Obscenely strong"

Also a moderate difficulty killer with a below 50% average kill rate.

Nurse is a very hard difficulty killer with an even lower kill rate. Guess she's weak too apparently lol

  • How about making it take more knives to injure and... nothing else, because trickster is obscenely strong and lacks counterplay in any way. Seriously, we don't need to buff a killer that can down survivors from healthy in literal seconds through pure skillless uncounterable spam. That's how we got old legion, but at least old legion had to catch up before he downed you.

  • Honestly, most things about blight need to be nerfed.

  • Most pinheads are scummy anyway so don't lose sleep. I don't get why they play like they're in a tournament when they're already playing a mid A tier killer with a slowdown tool that requires no effort and a super strong chase power. I guess it's the same reason why killers run slowdown perks on blight, nurse, spirit, etc, lol.

  • Yeah, but that would make the meta really stale, every match would just be Morbius for the rest of the game's lifespan. Although, that would instantly save DBD from its downhill spiral and make it the most popular horror game in history. Even thinking about what his Memento Morbi animation could be has me losing my morbles.

  • Because unlike wraith, she can uncloak practically instantly and without global sound cues, and unlike ghostface, her stealth has no cooldown and can't be revealed. She's also got the TV's to teleport to, and the flickering invisibility, and the short height. Sure, it's a little harsh, but it's pretty hard to hear and without it she'd be better at stealth than wraith and ghostface, which doesn't make sense considering her power involves stealth, insane mobility, minor game slow with condemned, zero hook moris with condemned at any time in the match potentially, and even some limited chase power with her height and phasing. She's still not a super strong killer, but if played well can still do better than many say.

it's the same as giving killers exaustion perks, imagine if killers could sprint at you or dead hard to you and get an undeserved hit. not all perks work for both sides and object used to do that and it was hella broken especially against stealth and set up killers it destroyed them so yeah aura reading perks on survivors need to be properly balanced such as alert (which is a pretty underrated perk) and kindred

So blight and nurse? Because they can do that and get free hits.

  • I don't think an A tier killer who can tunnel you out of the game in a minute needs busted addons. He's already got 3 range addons, a haemorrhage addon, an oblivious addon, a wallhack addon, 3 goop duration addons... that's 9/20 addons that are good. We don't want another nurse or blight where the base killer is busted and the addons make them unstoppable.

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

Nope. They need to make sure survivors are having a fun and jolly time looping the killer at broken loop designs.

What broken loop designs lol. They got rid of infinites and god loops. Most killers these days can down you almost anywhere without effort with zoning or projectiles or unavoidable rushes so forgive survivors for actually wanting to have an interactive chase and not watch a cutscene where they get downed and hook smacked/nodded.

I don't understand what the process to chose the characters for that game was.

The only one of that lot that seem appropriate is Rin. I find Anna kind of repulsive, especially given how muscular they made her.

There were many better choices : Sally, without her traditional wrappings, isn't a hottie but still looks way better than the rest of the roster. Carmina and Adriris aren't too bad looking either.

They picked the most popular killers. The last popularity survey bhvr did showed wraith, huntress and doctor as the most popular killers, and they seemed to think wraith was the most popular because people loved his playstyle instead of him just being the "easy mode" killer at that point in time. Doctor also probably wouldn't fit their aesthetic and him and wraith are probably played a lot less now. Trapper, spirit and huntress are (or were in spirits case) very popular so it's not a surprise. If they make a dlc it'll probably include susie

  • He plays himself kind of, his box gives him super free slowdown which is enough to win against most teams even without trying unless they're all top 10% of players. He's like old Freddy

  • Pig is the only killer who can easily get a 4K without even moving. Her traps get her free kills so if she gets any buffs they need to be nerfed big. There's a reason her killrate is so high and it isn't all "bad survivors", it's mostly pig players being carried by trap kills and winning with Noed

  • He is fine. This sounds like a troll but unironically just aim better. He has one of the best chase powers in the game, a killer can't be bad if they have downing power on par with the nurse.

  • Remove mending! Just make it so that when you're hit by legion's power you can't heal for like 16 seconds instead. That does the same thing but is much better to fight against.

  • It's just bias. Killers remember when pigs head traps get taken off quickly but don't remember when they take 2+ minutes to remove, which is what happens with most traps. It's the reason why killers complain about nemesis's zombies despite the fact they regularly put out massive gen pressure and can win chases for him if nearby. Pig traps are incredibly oppressive slowdown tools and if you have one on and pig tunnels you it's a guaranteed death, so I really don't think she needs any large buffs. Maybe a quality of life buff to her ambush but that's about it.

  • Not sure if making one of the first LGBT characters in DBD a bloodthirsty killer is a good idea. Maybe when more of the survivors come out but not now. I'm hoping for Dwight and Jane next.

  • No killer who's as busted in chase as deathslinger can be bad imo. He moves a little slower than most other killers but he negates like every loop in the game with little counterplay besides blocking him with walls. The best way to slow down the game is to get downs and deathslinger is very good at getting downs so I don't really see the issue.

I think a lot of the reason why you don't see deathslinger very often anymore is that he actually takes SOME skill now. Before he was basically just a point and click game, you put your mouse on the survivor click and boom you have a down with almost nothing the survivor can do about it. He can still do that now but at least there's some room to dodge, making him just an easy killer rather than one of the easiest to play in the game. And of course all the people who played him just moved to easier ranged killers like nemesis and pinhead.

  • Honestly the chains don't really seem too OP. I've gone against a lot of pinheads who were landing chains 24/7 and they still broke a lot before they caught up to me, and that was at loops with the pinhead also at the loop. But the box is the box so he doesn't really need a chase power, so it's fine lol

  • Oh no you apparently can't hear the unnoticeable breathing sounds while injured and using a very specific perk. There's bigger problems than that ATM.

  • Killer mains got their wish, Haddonfield is now a free win for any killer with more than one brain cell! It's s literally just a parking lot with some mediocre loops on each corner. It's a joke. At least Shelter Woods is fairly big, but new Haddonfield is like the size of dead dog. I don't see how any killer could lose on Haddonfield unless they're new. It needs more pallet spawns at the VERY LEAST, because a good 80% of the map is just a dead zone!

  • Yeah. Totally fair and balanced trust me, killers that can vault pallets and instadown you are actually only C tier dude. Lmao

  • To be fair it is freddie lol. I think he's fine

Wraith wasn't nerfed due to survivor complaints, in fact I don't remember there being any common calls to nerf Wraith when they reduced his lunge distance. They obviously had been looking at some internal data on Wraith and found something they didn't like in the numbers and felt that change was warranted, it's wasn't done by popular survivor demand though.

Deathslinger did have a lot of people calling for him to remove his instant shots, which I'm sure is the reason why the devs took a look at him. But they didn't make the change just because there were people asking for it, they obviously didn't like what they saw on review so went ahead with that change. If the devs acted solely on common requests they'd have nerfed NOED or Dead Hard years ago for example. But as far as I know there aren't any stats indicating NOED is actually overpowered, which is probably why it hasn't been touched, and they only recently commented they are probably going to be adjusting Dead Hard because they don't like its internal stats since hit validation went into effect last year. In other words player complaints might raise a red flag for the devs to look into something, but ultimately they don't make changes based solely on complaints. (Unless maybe it's something cosmetic, for instance, like they mentioned probably changing Ghost Face's chase music.)

You're remembering wrong, literally everyone wanted to nerf wraith at that time. And for good reason because he was stupidly strong and (is still) brain-dead easy to play, and his addons are busted. He's not that bad these days but he definitely doesn't need any buffs

  • Yeah let's buff spirit. Lol

  • Because you're not playing a game against antiloop killers, you're watching a cutscene of getting hit by their unavoidable power or zoned to death with nothing you can do about it.

  • Mending's annoying but legion is the only killer apart from nurse who can vault a pallet and instadown you just like that. I think that's a little more of an issue right now

  • There aren't really any inconsistencies lol. A good blight can bump or slide whenever they want by looking at the wall or looking downwards so it's not really something that hurts him. If you're asking if "hug techs" are fair than no obviously not, but the sliding really isn't a big deal. Without the sliding he might actually be a fair killer

  • Twins should be reworked so that victor is an ai like the zombies. She'd be so much better and much less annoying to go against

  • I do think he needs to be nerfed a little. There's no counter to his frenzy and the fact it instadowns now is a little silly. He's like nurse again because he ignores every survivor defence (windows and pallets) and gets free hits, and then instadowns with his super speed.

They either need to remove his extra speed, his instadown or his pallet vaulting. I'm sorry but being able to vault a pallet and instadown a survivor is not balanced.

  • He got two strong basekit buffs, and literally every single addon he has got buffed. He's got exhaustion addons now and wallhack addons and you're still complaining? The reveal changes are just a quality of life thing, it's really not that deep, just expose them or hide better if you don't want to be revealed. If the survivor is looking at him and he is out in the open he deserves to be revealed, that's how his power is designed.

I swear killer mains will call anything a nerf even if it makes them 0.00001% weaker. Ghostface undeniably got buffed, this is like saying the dead hard fix was a buff because it works as intended now. No it doesn't lol

  • Make it so that you get status effects the more cursed you are. So maybe blindness, then haemorrhage, then mangled, then oblivious, then exhausted and then exposed at max condemned.

Trickster ? Artist ? Pyramid Head ? Come on man. They're mostly terrible ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I can agree with a certain add on pinhead is A tier. But he's in a great spot. WITH that add on. Basekit pinhead is garbage tier.

Both blight and nurse are counterable in their own ways.

Artist and trickster terrible? You have to be kidding lol. Artist is the 3rd best killer in the game and trickster is unloopable and brain-dead easy to play. No unloopable killer is bad, simple as. Pyramid head is unloopable because of his 50/50 that still works even after the nerf, but if they nerfed that and made his attack faster and better he'd be fine.

Most of pinhead's addons are super strong but I'm guessing you're talking about his damaging iridescent, yeah that is also incredibly strong but it's just the cherry on top of his incredibly powerful power. He has the best game slowdown in the game for ZERO EFFORT, he can teleport directly on top of you if you try to stop his slowdown (good luck doing that with solo queue) and his chase power basically negates small loops and is still super powerful at others, and has basically no cooldown if you miss. And he's normal killer speed on top of that!

You said nurse is counterable so that automatically makes your points wrong lol. She was made in 2016, she bypasses every survivor defence, there is nothing stopping her blinking on top of your head and smacking you with nothing you can do about it. At least she takes skill to play though apart from trickster. And blight is basically just nurse but with more effort, slightly weaker in chase and the ability to go anywhere on the map in seconds.

  • 68% 4Ks and 3Ks! I don't want anyone saying legion isn't good anymore ๐Ÿ˜† so happy for legion mains!

  • The only joke is how easy a nurse or trickster or blight can down you without anything you can do about it. Blight you need flicks and such to do but nurse and trickster are unloopable and are basically unescapable if the killer is good. Pyramid head and artist are also unloopable and pinhead gets massive free slowdown, a chase power ten times stronger than clowns and a teleport directly on top of you for absolutely no effort whatsoever. A lot of this isn't that OP when put against top level teams, but against average-low teams? Yeah it needs looked at

  • It's underrated. With this addon hag can make any tile unloopable by putting a trap there, and she has unlimited traps unlike clown. And it makes her normal speed. And if you combine it with the bodyblock addon it can make her pretty oppressive in chase. Probably not better than normal hag but still good.

  • Killers don't need a global buff. The only killers that need buffs now that legion and ghostface are buffed is clown and myers, and maybe onryo. A lot more killers need toning down than buffing, looking at you trickster/pinhead/blight/artist/nurse/leatherface/pyramid head

  • @ActualCasual said:

There are some massive oversights over at bhvr. Ppl quitting your game? Alright lets make the least played and most hated killer the subject of the tome.

Major balance issues that need resolving? Alright heres more content so the game stays in a perpetually broken state.

Most hated? Have you not seen pinhead and blight lol

  • I mean artist isn't too hard to play. You just put your crows down at a loop and force the survivor into it for unavoidable damage, and if they run away, you just catch up while they're out of position because she is 4.6 for some reason or repeat the process. Then when you down them, you use Deadmans Switch and her scourge hook to block the gens with crows and slow down the game to a crawl, because Deadmans is a super super fair perk. Haha but seriously just try zoning more with the crows, she's unloopable if you do that.

I'm surprised they're dodging the crows. Do you spam 3 crows at them? They already have pretty big hitboxes but shotgunning crows at people can make it nearly impossible for you to dodge. I've never seen someone jump in a locker to get rid of crows so I don't know if it's worth it or not. Maybe use Iron Maiden?

  • I wouldn't call anything about blight "greatly received" lol. Unless you mean greatly received by Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer+Scourge Hook drones.

  • Old ormond looked so cool! I wish there was like a DBD classic game mode where it's all the old stuff. Ormond looks really bad and is really easy for killer these days so I'm mentally ๐Ÿ˜ด on it lol. I don't think they'll add them back for real tho.
