Believe me, Redd, I've been asking myself the same question for 2 years.
I swear around a year ago I saw a Mcgonagall meme with exactly those 3 killers where the context was killers causing survivors to DC. But I can't find it anymore.
-
Top 3 Most Hated To Play Against
Nurse - 133
Hillbilly - 93
Doctor - 76
Why is it always you three?
-
Wait time already bad

"i need bamboozle in order to run killer shack"
lmao
I don’t even use the perk but I have heard that’s it’s main use case. What else would you us expect it for lol?

That's IF you find them at end game and even if you do, killing them then doesn't matter, you already lost. The entire point is to counter all the tempo loss of a DS mid game to improve your chances at winning still.
All Rancor does is give you a "feel good" mori on the obsession, it isn't generally helping you win. It's a pitty reward.
Rancor was meant to be a free kill on the obsession end-game so that you could ignore them all game and still heavily punish them for running Decisive Strike.
It didn't really pan out that way, but that doesn't mean the devs didn't try this already lol. And all this was before the DS nerf of course, back when being the obsession mattered.
-
They really need to just remove ranks on PTB so everyone can get into quick matches instead of high rank players being forced to queue forever.

No, the clothes are for if you buy the DLC instead of the standalone killer I believe
There is no point to buying a killer with cells instead of just separately unless you already have cells and never plan to buy any more cells ever again.

"I kinda find it funny, that it is totally okay for killers to use the same build just to counter loops and gens. They don't have much that they can choose for an individual playstyle. But if a survivor should run a just one perk to counter things then the argument is totally invalid."
I was finding this same irony quite funny as well.
Killers have been "required" to run many perks for quite a long time and that's fine, but as soon as survivors may need 1 perk it's not fair lol.
Not to mentioned the killer perks aren't even hard counters, they just lesson how painful it is and still don't fully handle anything.
Those Spirit countering perks are actually hard counters completely.
Majority of Killers: Run Anti-Gen-Perk + Spirit Fury + Enduring because they kind of need to. It's been this way for a while now.
Survivors: "We shouldn't be forced to run Iron Will."
Me: "Yeah well I'd like to have more than one perk slot as killer. Deal with it."
-
They already did this in the past. It's name is "Rancor".
-
Yes it does. This should not be too much of a problem because Spine Chill doesn't tell you which direction he is coming from.

remove bamboozle
I'll trade you for removing killer shack. Otherwise, no, leave well enough alone y'all. The perk is fine.

Sprint Burst hard counters the initial surprise attack from Pig and Legion. It also soft counters the initial attack from Freddy, Wraith, Michael, Nurse, Huntress, Clown, Plague, and Spirit. Basically it soft counters anyone who wants to sneak up on you invisibly or anyone who is going to try to initiate a chase with a targeted projectile (which includes the Nurse for sake of this particular example). The extra time bought while initiating a chase is very invaluable, because it makes it effectively impossible to catch you out of position. That initial burst of speed, used properly, is almost always enough to get to some nearby loop before you would go down.
Sprint Burst is the only exhaustion perk you can trigger immediately after being unhooked or immediately after getting off of a generator while healthy. These are the two most valuable and likely situations in which you'll use the perk. Sprint Burst comes off cooldown when you get hooked, and it should come off cooldown while you are doing a generator. Unless you are not paying proper attention to where the killer is, it is very rare for you to be caught off cooldown completely unprepared. In the situations where you are caught off cooldown, the remaining cool down timer should often be low enough that there are still ways to recover that small amount of exhaustion while looping, and the perk is still useful in loops because of this unless you are playing badly. While the perk DOES require some cooldown management, it is nowhere near as bad as some people have come to think, and it is completely wrong to walk everywhere in order to "save it". In fact, one of the appeals is that sometimes you can smartly use it outside of a chase to get to other places faster. The other really big appeal is that you can use Sprint Burst 3-5 times in chases alone in most games with 3 being almost guaranteed, while other exhaustion perks are not quite at that level of consistency on every single map against every single killer. And the use of Sprint Burst is on demand not something you have to do an action or be injured to trigger.
Like all the other exhaustion perks there are some situational conditions to it, but Sprint Burst is a very good perk I use 8+ times in a very large number of my games. I consider it completely irreplaceable.
-
Urban Evasion lets you be far more stealthy in situations where you wouldn't run anyways, because you don't want to leave scratch marks. It effectively halves your profile size as one of the female survivors while allowing you to move at walking speed crouched. This is useful for mind-gaming killers who by definition have to lose line of sight of you temporarily (i.e. Nurse, Spirit) or killers who haven't gained full sight of you yet. It allows you to do some things in stealth that aren't otherwise possible. It's also invaluable against the Hag, it makes it a very slight amount easier to dodge hatchets while looping, and it lets you recover from Madness faster against the Doctor without sacrificing all of your speed. Combine that with the ability to break los just that little bit easier, and Urban Evasion is a situational but great perk that is useful versus a wide range of killers. The main problem with the perk is that people use it 24/7 even when they are in no danger (I personally rarely use it outside of terror radius and/or LOS of the killer), which is sacrificing speed for no good reason. But if you have good reason to walk in any given situation, than this perk is invaluable.
-
There isn't really a use case for decreasing your terror radius in a chase, so Furtive Chase probably won't see use. If it completely eliminated your terror radius in a chase, then that would be one thing at least worth meming with, but you can't do that because M&A increases your terror radius in a chase. And Myers doesn't want to run this instead of Monitor and Abuse, which is probably the "best" use case for it.
Thrilling Tremors may be useful on Rework Freddy. Otherwise you'd just choose to use BBQ & Chili instead.
I'm All Ears is completely killed by the cooldown.
-
I've been sitting here and trying to come up with a post on how to counter Spirit while she's invisible. I think I'm going to give up because I don't want to turn this into another topic on Sprint Burst (and similar).
All I'm going to say is that I find I have the most trouble playing against a good Spirit when they catch me completely out of position. If I can get to a window or a pallet, I can waste a whole bunch of time; which is true of a lot of killers being honest.
-
The most balanced killer in the game is the Huntress.
On the topic of Spirit, Prayer Beads, and only Prayer Beads, might need a nerf. It's right up there with extra blinks on Nurse in power level. Otherwise the character is fine in my opinion. She is a mind-games killer very weak to windows.
-
@Seanzu said:
Yep!
I've seen you in a fair amount of threads about Spirit Beads and people absolutely sure that grass moves and using that as a counter argument as to why they shouldn't be changed.
"Because it has counters".
Trutalent yesterday on Spirit Beads: "May make Spirit as powerful as omega-blink Nurse." That about sums it up lol.

@Redd swap out self care for a med kit, and then run poised in the free slot. Use QaQ as the 4th.
I would rather bring a flashlight or key.

You know what's even better? Distortion.
If you're injured and the killer has Nurse's Calling, you can activate Distortion while in a chase by healing yourself for a split second. Boom, no scratch marks for 10 seconds without the need of a generator! Try doing this while the killer is breaking the pallet, and you can be sure that they won't find you! :)
If you're injured a good killer will hear where you went. You can blame that one on those people who use flashlights at every pallet.
-
The Nintendo Switch release seems like it's going to bundle all the non-licensed killers up through Spirit into the initial price tag. 2 years ago when the PS4 version came out, they did the same thing (albeit far fewer characters lol) and the pc version at that time got a simultaneous bundle that was $30 instead of $15 or $20 but had the same amount of content in it. I could see them doing this kind of thing again for their original content.
Unfortunately, the licensed content is probably not something they can get put into some sort of bundle.
-
I play Nurse on PS4 and she is definitely still the best killer on console. It's significantly harder to play well with a controller; but that doesn't make it impossible.
You are a good Nurse if you can play her against good survivors and still do well. TBH it's only your opinion that matters. Practice until you think you are a good nurse.

Uuuuh, talk to your average survivor main and they will tell you how "useless" and "garbage" the majority of survivor perks are.
To be honest, none of the survivor perks are so necessary that you can't run anything you want. It's not like killer where you need perks to do really well.

Because Sprint Burst is garbage.
And Urban Evasion.
And Self Care to a degree.
That's like the full new-player-trap build.
Or maybe you just dont know when and how to use them.
-
@Mandy said:
Agree about playing both sides, what helped me the most as survivor is understanding the killers vision area. And what helped my killer play is learning what the regular survivors would do in certain situations, what perks they might be running etc.
This is how I got so good at trapper lol. I trap an average of 5-7 people were game and it's because I play so much survivor I know how they move. You'd be surprised how little people look for traps outside of the super obvious spots like the shack window and major loops. Something as simple as a random spot on the outer wall of a central building you think someone will hug can get an easy 1-2 traps.

@Andreyu44 said:
Like I said in other threads:
The majority of survivor perks are "underrated", this happens because average survivors only like second chance OP perks.
They aren't underrated. They just aren't as good as the super ultra meta perks. For better or worse, a few very powerful perks mean the rest are kind of hard to justify past a certain rank.
-
It's likely to be something related to DBD because Mcote went out of his way to comment on the twitter chain in question; which is something very dumb to do if its Deathgarden and not DBD. It's also likely to be Stranger Things because that's the upcoming thing Netflix actually really wants to promote.
They could also just do a paragraph; but I agree unless it's someone adult from Season 3 I feel like we wouldn't be getting a ST survivor. It's a major design decision (if not originally; then now it certainly is) for all of the survivors in DBD to be a certain minimum age that people in middle school fall well below.

I must be unlucky. I don't really give an offering anymore, but I know that I don't have enough BPS for all the games I play. It'd be different if someone asked so I could politely say that I don't have any more, which would be the truth. My bps are going to my killers.
This is also a good point. I only need to level up Meg ~9 levels per chapter when survivors get something, so I generally end up only going through 49 survivor bloodwebs per new survivor. After like 10 games at the end of that I'm out of items again.
-
People data mined some stuff that made it look like they are at leas thinking about doing 15 minute temp bans or something similar around the same time dedicated servers come out.
Until then, they don't want to punish people too harshly because the game right now can't tell whether the DC is because of the killer's connection or the survivor's. Dedicated servers won't rely on you connecting directly to other players, since you'll be connecting to the server instead, so they'll know who is actually to blame for what's going down.
-
i save up all my BPS as killer for burning exclusively on Mother's Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day, and Christmas.
The rest of the year, I don't burn that stuff. It's just a good way to make the survivors gen rush.
-
My standard build is:
Sprint Burst
Self Care
Urban Evasion
Borrowed Time / Bond / Iron Will / Quick & Quiet
Why should I run Poised over one of those?
-
At one point survivors were making more BP than killers. They had to nerf WGLF from 200% to 100% AND add BBQ & Chili into the game because of what that was doing to the meta. I'm not opposed to survivors getting more BP, but I don't see BHVR doing it again any time soon.
-
I'm surprised survivors want to farm with you. This feels like purple ranks everywhere right now with a mix of red ranks occasionally thrown in. I'm already back to Fragile Wheeze.
-
The real question is why on this weekend. There’s time to potential Ruin matchmaking. This ain’t it.
-
The only reason I'm even playing this event at this point lol is that I'm good enough to make other players miserable instead of them making me miserable. But I hate having to play that way to be able to get any good use out of the event.
I wish the devs would balance their freaking game so that you wouldn't be able to have a 2-3 day meta where everyone plays the most overpowered ######### they've been saving up for months because that's just what you do during any "fun" event. That's the game's meta. That's what we as a community decide is worth doing to celebrate double BP - make everyone else unhappy. Why in the world is the game balanced in such a way that that can even be a thing?
-
Shower Thought: What if this is what the game is intended to be like? And the normal meta is just everyone being super nice to avoid having to put up with this ######### 24/7?
-
People keep dc during loading too. Glad it’s over soon lol
-
Im starting to think this is why we don’t get a weeklong hunt for anniversary.
-
Some dude last second switched to a purple flashlight with two batteries, started teabagging me and clickity-clicking the first time I saw him, and got pissed when I mori'd him. Meanwhile both his teammates brought a BNP, and the 4th person (random?) brought an insta-heal.
Great meta. Can we stop having double bp events yet?
-
I'm excited but worried about them nerfing him like the Plague or Freddy. if they comfirm they won't nerf him before release, then that would turn into extremely hyped.
-
Adrenaline would be fine if games didn't go so fast. This is more of a problem with gens being too easy to get done fast (which is the developer's, not the player's, fault). I don't think it needs a nerf so much as they need to balance their game.
Decisive Strike is fine for what it is. It's a single use perk meant to prevent you from tunneling someone straight off of a hook
Borrowed Time is like Decisive Strike. Again, just don't tunnel someone off hook.
Mettle Of Man is getting a big nerf.
Deliverance is single use and leaves them broken.
-
It's official lol. I'm actually about to queue up for my first of may red mori games. This event is awful.
-
First of all, there is nothing that says they have to release a Stranger Things Chapter/Paragraph as one of the 4 main ones. It would be kind of weird for them to release the entire 3rd season on July 4th and then wait more than 2 months to do a cross-promotion, so if we are getting Stranger Things content I would expect it a bit sooner than September lol. Maybe just a paragraph, since I can't see them wanting to include any of the survivors in that franchise in the game due to their young age.
That being said, I would not be disappointed with a full chapter in September. This is such a popular show that even my parents watch it; and they are not internet savvy whatsoever.
-
Well it's official. This event sucks lol. If I wasn't such a good killer, I wouldn't even be able to get that much BP. As is, I'm getting 80K+ per game in 30 minute long sweaty arse games where survivors bring all the things you don't bring when you want to have a friendly farming game.
The most annoying thing is the hypocrisy of the whole situation. People are complaining about me wasting their BPS when they've brought an odd bulb, a BNP, an Engineer's Toolbox, and an insta-heal plus full meta second-chance perks. <- This was my last game. It's hilarious that rank reset just happened, because it feels like a lot of these people don't normally play against actually good killers. Makes me actually want to use an ebony every game (not doing so; but I could lol; I have enough). As is that's not necessary because only 1 person on each team is worth anything in a chase (for the most part), so lots of easy 4Ks this event.
-
Well first game. Playing Chill Freddy. BBQ + Distressing + Ruin + Whispers. Burnt Cypress (yellow) mori. No DC. 2 Kill. 1 Escaped. 1 Let Go. 90,900 BP that game. Took 40 [BAD WORD] minutes to complete because I've got [BAD WORD] corn vision.
Event going great so far.
-
Play things you would normally be too afraid to play. Maybe a weird build you know shouldn't and probably won't work that you wouldn't ever try in a normal meta but since rank reset just occurred why not?
Then get back on Saturday evening once everyone has run out of op items.
-
The vast majority of people hopefully can't burn this level of high quality add ons for the entire event.
-
Been playing on PS4 since launch on PS4. Every single event the killer number spikes and then falls back towards a middle ground sometime Friday Night to Saturday morning. That middle ground is longer than average killer queues, but still short enough that people can stand playing it. So far this has always settled at a happy equilibrium most killer mains can put up with. First day of event is always by far the worst. The one exception was the Hallowed Blight event.
-
I would like to take a moment to apologize for some of my anti event trolling.
That being said, I wish we could play normal but just with double bp.
-
Have not been able to get on yet. Probably going to do killer only this weekend. Not hearing a lot of good things about the event so most likely going to play it by ear and mood.
-
A lot less people would play killer if it didn’t give more blood points.
