Red and Green moris aren't "Worthless". They still allow you to avoid Decisive Strike, flashlight and pallet saves when you down someone. It's obviously significantly weaker than it was but it's still an ok benefit, especially the red one.
Yellow moris, though, they're worthless. They could still use a buff or maybe be part of the base kit for all killers.
I don't see how that's the case at all unless the survivor wasn't rescued until struggle on the first hook.
If they get rescued before struggle, they should have access to their entire arsenal because you can't mori them before struggle stage with any mori offering.
-
I mean moris aren't near as scary anymore and the nerf delivered a huge hit to killer lethality, and them being used as an equalizer against a potentially strong survivor team. No longer being an option, it just means more killers dodging and survivors pulling lobby switching.
You can suggest franklins all you want but it's meaningless to people that don't have it.
The Twins are likely worse off thanks to the locker interaction with Victor being fixed. Even a hot fix will take time, and the devs will need to get data on how screwed the Twins are now. Then there's the hoarder issue.
Legion is screwed up more than usual with reports of fov and/or speed issues.
That's just off the top of my head, and what I glean off the forums.
Seems like a laundry list of issues which will not be fixed, counterbalanced or adjusted any time soon for killers.
There doesn't seem to be much good here for killers, just good news for survivors.
And the idea of keys being fixed soon just feels like a dirty lie since if it was actually "soon" the mori adjustment could have waited and been done "soon" too.
-
There is such a thing as being too good.
It's one of the more common swfs in low ranks that there is a strong looper trying to boost people by being a bodyguard/decoy.
I will generally ignore them, and find weaker links to kill instead of do what they plan.
-
Yeah, I'm back to taking a break because I don't appreciate being in over my head killer or survivor.
Anxiety is a bit too high.
-
No. I'm absolutely done with the idea of creating new meta for players.
"You gotta play this survivor with these perks to be optimal!! Do it!" Screeches. Rage quits if you don't fit their party blueprint.
Screw that.
Enjoy being able to play any survivor you want and use whatever perks.
And survivors are a big enough pain to killers as it is. Giving survivors even stronger methods to eat up the killers precious time is not going to go well.
-
Imo this change was too heavy handed to come all alone when a counterbalance (keys) is not likely to come any time soon, if at all.
It removed a huge amount of killer lethality, and for some, an actual equalizer/insurance against what may be a group of survivors packing overwhelming force. Especially with matchmaking being a joke.
Even with running any Mori now survivors have gained a lot of room to make mistakes now when killers already walk a tightrope. Again, especially with bad matchmaking.
It does not feel like killers got anything in return for the added difficulty.
This will likely be pretty unhealthy before the health benefits actually kick in as far as game health goes.

You don't need a fancy 300€+ headset to track their sounds while being blinded. My headset is like 20€ and i can still hear them most of the time.
You also don't have to swing at them.Just track their sounds and hit them as soon as you can confirm their position.
I can't hear well enough, and the bright pink screen actually hurts my eyes sometimes.
Whatever argument you have for being blinded being a good thing, you haven't made it so far.
Oh and it doesn't help if the survivors aren't injured, i suppose.

Getting blinded at pallets is actually beneficial because you can still track them with sounds and essentially get a free hit if you hear them well enough
I don't see it that way, no pun intended.
It's not fun to look at for me, and others, I'm sure.
And not everyone plays with the best sound set up, and swings godly while blind.
It's too situation for me to call it beneficial.

Im sure you got a bunch of snarky answers to this but i'll assume you are being genuine. If you dont have franklins first look for it in the shrine weekly, its been there I think 5 times since it came out which is better than nothing if you cant afford the DLC or dont want bubba. In the mean time you can dodge lobbies, i've done this many times because I personally hate using franklins. You can use offerings to stick the hatch where you want it. But over all you can still just camp the person.
In the end if there's all four people alive and they take the hatch instead of gates you had lost anyways, this is the same as when the last survivor gets the hatch it is still a 4k in terms of pride for the killer. Its the reason many killers give the hatch to the last survivor, because they already won. The only times I think it feels truly bad is if two or three get out, but i've personally only had that happen to me 4 times in 100ish hours of gameplay as killer
I wouldn't say enough to say a lot.
But yeah, I feel like telling people to run a perk, especially one like Franklin's is just lazy, and ignores the obvious fact that not everyone has the perk to use.
With the way matchmaking is, "out played" shouldn't be confused with "matched against people you shouldn't have been" since it's still common, unfortunately.
I give the hatch for a lot of reasons if I have the choice.
-
I have low expectations that the keys will be changed any time soon.
If they were going to change them any time soon, they could have just made both changes at the same time, and avoided a lot of the mess going on now with the Mori change on its own. So the key changes aren't happening soon enough to hold off on the Mori change.
They can't just patch willy-nilly because iirc, consoles won't let you update that often.
There's no telling how long we will have to wait for the changes to the keys.
-
It certainly feels that way sometimes.
I have little faith that keys will meaningfully get changed any time soon.
Killers lost a lot of ability to counter survivors and be scary all in one fell swoop, and survivors have a lot more room to make mistakes.
That's what the game boils down to a lot, and it feels a lot more unforgiving for killers when there's 4 survivors worth of mistakes that can be done. This isn't 1v1.

so not much different than the occasional team mate you get sometimes, except they'll keep the killers' attention for longer than the first hook.
Basically. Bad teammates should be part of training, yeah? Lol
-
Yeah, mobile training has just 2 or 3 flaws. The grind is so much worse, the controls, and sometimes the bot survivors tap unhook instead of hold unhook. Most of that isn't their fault.
Well, they are a little dumb when they got to use stairs, too, but it's fine. An occasional potato bot is ok with me.
Personally, I don't see it coming when a pvp focus just works so well for them. When pvp dies down, they might include bots sort of like ft13th
Replacing DCs would be great.

I've advocated for training mode since mobile got it , I'm quite pissed the free mobile version has more to offer than a version I've spent so much money on
Same. I wish bots/training, and what boils down to single player would come along, but I don't see it happening until the pvp has died off.
Until then, I would rather just have a competent match making system that goes out of it's way to make sure the trial isn't an absolute slaughter for killer, or survivors.
I just want to play with as much interaction possible so I can get blood points, and make progress so I can be as prepared to git gud as the people that tell me to git gud.
If skills are about the same, wins, losses, 4k, 4 escape, nothing really matters. I'm a pretty laid back killer, and as a survivor, I revel in the tension when I don't get absolutely obliterated.
If I feel like I had fun, I would even give up blood points and get sacrificed, or let people escape, or hold back in general. Especially if I find myself overpowering the other side.
So in essence, I don't want to be in between a rock and a hard place with a system that would force me to get better, or end up unable to enjoy myself.

Well there's always the mobile training mode with the bots
Which offers abysmal progress and mobile controls are absolutely garbage, and most importantly, isn't the console version thay i have the most investment in which is basically superior in every way aside from mobile turning lost players into bots. I mean the switch version is even portable.
If they added "training" to consoles, and didn't make sure it was an even worse grind, I wouldn't be mad.

I was ony using the green flashlight with two battery's, I didn't take any addons that increased the visual brightness so the blindness thing that killers look at wasn't that bright. Ive never had a problem personally with being blinded multiple times, flashlights arent that great to begin with so most of the time even if I got blinded I was able to catch them. Even if the survivor was using both blind addons it never really looked that bright. I just don't understand how it can be viewed as taunting, its literally just the survivor using their item. Its like saying that the killer using their power is BM or downing survivors is BM, it just doesn't make sense. I was also injured for most of the time and I didn't bring iron will so whenever I blinded him he would follow me pretty much exactly, so in the end it was only worth it for the BP and practice. There wasn't a rank difference, I have images to prove it. I was either rank 2 or 1 and the killer was a rank 2 or 1 as well.
You don't see "haha I'll blind you every pallet break" as taunting?
You may not be thinking that, but I don't see why a killer would think otherwise.
Saying you're not bothered is normalizing your experience, and well, killer players vary. Your experience isn't always the way others experience things. They vary. Some might not be playing all that optimally, some are bothered by being blinded continuously.
I'm going to be blunt, there's too many ways to show an image that doesn't reflect the truth for me to be interested in it as proof.
It's definitely different than a killer downing people. Flashlights aren't necessary. At all. They aren't base kit, and a survivor could never use a flashlight ever, and be successful.
Saying the same about a killer and their power is hardly a comparable argument.

Well if you don't make an effort to get better you have no right to complain about the people who beat you, play the game as you please by all means I'm not trying to insult or be rude that's just me being real.
Nah, I have every right to complain. I want to stick to casual skilled survivors and killers. At least then, I can pretend I was in a fair match, win or lose.
The massive skill gap your idea will eventually create for me will eventually make the game basically unplayable.

Rank needs to be thrown out all together and let devotion be the thing that matchmaking depends on, once you're above devotion 2 you should be pitted against anyone because you've played the game long enough to have a understanding of how it works and it's just refining skill at that point.
No thanks. I don't plan on making a huge effort to get better, but I'll continue to play casually, and collect stuff.
-
Because matchmaking is screwy at times, and going against people way higher rank often feels like they're swat teams.
It can get pretty bad. Especially if encountered multiple times.
Higher rank survivors often aren't interested in if they're stomping a low skill killer or not, so a person just starting to play, or are trying a new killer are jokes to them.
People have asked for an SWF indicator for years, and many have argued against it.
I doubt the devs will do much or anything to help killers in that sort of bind.

Franklins is an answer to keys. Other than both sides complaining about the other, there is no relation to them. Keys are in the same slot as a killer ability, and just like killer abilities they have counterplay outside of pure skill. Mori's have no counterplay outside pure skill, or at least they didn't, this fixed it. Conflating the two makes you and everyone that does the same sound short-sighted at best, and willfully biased at worst.
Quick question. What if you don't have Franklins?
-
You'd have a better argument if you gave reasons to be positive.
Especially to killers that lost a huge chunk of why they can be scary, and lost a solid weapon against overly optimal survivors.
The mori nerf is a huge boon to survivors who gained a lot more leeway. Especially if they enjoy stomping killers.

I didn't rapid click or get a single flashlight save, whenever he would break a pallet and only a pallet I would usually blind him, I don't really understand how its not "nice" as a killer I've never personally seen it as toxic unless they were clicking their flashlight. Btw I didn't spam click or anything at him.
Because it really is annoying to get blinded over and over and over again?
What killer wants to be your target practice/guinea pig?
It's not the easiest thing for the player of the killer to look at either sometimes. Have you ever experienced it?
You're practically taunting them at that point. They can't defend outside of one perk which is almost never necessary and almost never used as it's super situational. Even then, iirc, the perk isn't a complete counter.
The time taken for most killers (not all run brutal strength or the spirit's pallet breaking perk) is usually also enough time for a survivor to actually get a lot of distance in a chase.
Was there a rank difference between you and the killer? You certain you weren't tormenting some newbie?
-
I doubt it. Lol
I mean, how would they?
Maybe the hatch only let's -one- person through when the key is used then the hatch closes? It doesn't necessarily need to be the person that opened it.
-
If you're blinding killers at every pallet break, and vault, or using rapid fire clicks, probably. Going out of your way to be annoying, yeah, likely.
Blinding a killer locked in an animation is not exactly nice.
Flashlight saves, light burns, destroying hag traps, probably not.
Occasionally to blind to escape, probably not.
Their existence, and use is not inherently toxic, but you can use them in a toxic manner.
-
Honestly, the way I saw them, they were insurance against what may have been a super sweaty group of survivors, or some easy points from DC.
I never really cared to use them, personally since I'd rather dodge and save the headaches all around.
Now, it's pretty useless, and only really useful in a more fair fight which is going to get rarer and rarer with matchmaking being godawful.
Oh, wow, cool animations. We almost never saw them anyhow.
I don't see much point now, aside from lolz. Easier to throw away, and waste now, I guess.
If you've hooked someone twice already there's not much need in it aside from saving time hooking them again since a third can't come that hard.
-
Don't underestimate how much people enjoy character customization.
-
Run into their dash forcing them to overshoot you.
Go into buildings. Especially multistory ones.
Hell some buildings are probably still deadzones for blinking.
Iirc, flashlights prevent a nurse from being able to blink. She, and wraith get "light burned." Hag suffers from light burn differently in they destroy her traps.
I mean you probably can't run forever but there's things you can do.
-
Playing the way survivors want is one of the most futile things you could ever do.
It's geared solely in their favor for one.
They don't know who you are before the match, probably don't care post match, and you may never encounter them again.
There's no use in it at all. You don't get points, get remembered, get reputation, or anything. You're basically anonymous.
Even if they did remember you, it would only be if your style is unique, and in post game where they can see your name.
-
I feel like if matchmaking were better, and there were more people across the ranks it would be better.
Most of my frustration with Killer stems from severe rank mismatch. Maybe some people smurfing to stomp, but mostly severe rank mismatch.
-
Same reason people buy fancy rims. You can't enjoy them while driving, but you can see people's reactions
Joking aside, some older killers could do with more tweaks for third person. Maybe fix the rest over time for first or third options.
I buy killer skins coz I wanna feel pretty, though.
Speaking of killer skins, spirit has a deep blue skin with white fingernails but I can't remember which it is because it only seems to look that way in play, and I've only seen it in streams.
-
Roll my eyes, and pull the gate lever myself after 5 minutes! Ha
But seriously, that's usually the worst case scenario which has been frustratingly common with matchmaking deciding I should face people 10+ ranks over me.
Best case scenario, I feel out the survivors. If one seems really good at looping, and practically wants to be chased, I drop chase, and they're dead to me, basically.
I call these people "bodyguards" as they are usually the hard protective shell to the soft, gooey survivors they're boosting. Go after the others, feel them out, find the easiest one to catch.
There is such a thing as being too good as a bodyguard.
Take a page from Sun Tzu, and flow like water, through areas of less resistance.
SWF is frustrating, but it's a lack of decent matchmaking that tends to fuel it. In a perfect game, you wouldn't be paired up against people that will blow you out of the water. At least not very often. Especially not several times in a row.
Leave the broken SWF squads to the people that can handle them.
-
As a killer?
With Scout as survivor?
-
Camping is in no way cheating, no matter how cheated you feel by it.
It is a viable strategy. Especially after gens are done.
-
Bp oriented.
BBQ, distressing, beast of prey, and thrill of the hunt.
I'll deviate based on mood, but it's rare.
Monto would probably have any other build I'd come up with, like "Russian roulette" which is more interesting lately as it consists entirely of hex perks.

@Rebel_Raven I own various consoles. Yes I totally get that it's harder than a keyboard but all it would take would be a "gg" "add me" and that's it ?
I mean is that all you want?
I don't believe it would be all we would get.
-
I don't entirely see the harm, but have you ever typed anything on a console? Lol
Most console players aren't going to mess with a keyboard.
Playstation people have a phone app to act as a go between, but I doubt most will deal with that, either.
-
Wait until bad matchmaking happens, if it does.
If you're a super great killer, it probably won't mean much, but if you're less than stellar you'll get some nasty surprises in matchmaking, and it's going to get stressful.
-
Yeah, if this keeps up, I'm taking another break from playing, and spending money on dbd.
The only relief is being able to open a gate and start end game.
-
It's a matter of skill gaps. The player base is screwed up, or something. Too few people at your skill level will mean you get better or worse matches.
It doesn't help too much when a "bodyguard" survivor teams up with low levels to screw with the killer.
Nor does it help much when boosted survivors get into higher levels and screw with other survivors.
I'm not sure how a killer gets boosted unless they get fed a lot, but that's problematic.
matchmaking settling on a high level killer for a group of newbies isn't great.
Nor when killers depip to stomp newbies.
If people are around your skill level (or less if you can pull punches) you can have a drawn out, long trial where people get lots of BP provided they interact. Super fun!
If you get into a trial with people who are way above you, and can't or won't hold back, you're screwed. They might be screwed, too. A killer just inhaling survivors may not get great points. Survivors that never get seen and just do gens may not get great points.
-
Yeah, running into people I shouldn't be all of a sudden. Like 10 levels or so above me.
Sucks.
-
After vacation, I started playing survivor in low ranks. Super rusty at it.
One match was against a Hag. The hag seemed to be struggling right from the get-go.
I found a lit totem, and started to cleanse. Thrill of the Hunt popped up, and I left it alone so the Hag could get some bloodpoint bonuses.
I was willing to gamble that the hex it might have been protecting wasn't being used or if there was even a second hex in play (I run thrill of the hunt as my only hex for points often enough, but I'm crazy like that lol) . No signs of ruin, after all.
Not sure if the Hag player even knew, but that's just how I roll.
Had another match, vs a Huntress. One guy DCed immediately (and I found out about the 600 abandoned bonus) and the match kinda went on as normal. I had to get stuns done for the archive, and got those. Kinda felt bad. It wasn't easy, mind you.
Game progressed, gates got opened. The other 2 and I got to the gate. We spent time healing eachother, and the huntress just seemed to get some extra points and was going to let us go.
Kinda felt nostalgic since I do this sort of thing, too, and Huntress is a fav killer of mine. Felt bad after the 2 stuns, too.
Countdown was going, I was trying to point for the other 2 to leave so I could let myself get sacrificed. They kept healing me, and I couldn't hardly emote as I was letting myself get hit.
Time ran short, they bolted much to my relief. I went over to the huntress pretty much begging to be hooked, but was thrown out anyhow.
-
Yeah, for the time being, anyhow.
I came back after having been ranked down to 20 for a long time/long vacation, and started playing killer again. I'm pretty rusty, still, but I'm in no hurry to get good. I like derping, and trying to learn how to deal with survivors seemingly liking to run through me when I hit them.
As usual I play with a mentality similar to Tru3 (but nowhere near his skill level) in 4k doesn't matter, it's chases and hooks. I want those bloodpoints more than anything else.
I like to run distressing, beast of prey, and thrill of the hunt as often as I can. Don't have BBQ yet, but it's teachable thanks in large part to the Halloween event.
Low ranks seem to have enough newbies (I'm closer to their skill level), and the bodyguards in SWF seem nicer.
Maybe they're appreciative i don't camp, and try to play nice?
If I'm accidentally doing too well, I'll try and give the hatch to one of them at least.
If they get gens done, I'll screw around a bit, then open the gate for them (I like that. More points. Hate that I can't open both gates though!) so I don't have to deal with one of my older gripes, the survivors over staying their welcome.
I hope they learned something, and got some blood points, and experience to help them along so they can grow into competition for the higher ranks, and feel like they got stuff done.
Feels weirdly good, man.
-
I'd like my curiosity sated, personally, but I don't see them at all willing to go against survivors like that.
I mean, oh no, post game chat toxicity. Just leave quick, or turn it off if you think it will be a thing.
Beyond that, the harm would be just the reputation of SWF being ruined further, or saved by a lack of them being responsible for killers being tortured.
I'd say test it for a weekend, but I doubt they have the hutzpah to even try that.
-
We're negative because we love the game. If we didn't love it, we wouldn't be here.
It wouldn't keep calling me back, being one of the few pvp games I can tolerate for some reason.
Unfortunately there's also some tribalism between survivors, killers, and the people caught in between as a tug of war goes on to try and "balance" the game, which usually means make sure their side has to do less struggling than the other side.
-
It is silly, I agree, that and outrunning the killer for long periods of time, but that's the major defense for survivors.
I just wish it felt more like "run, #########, ruuuuuun!" Instead of "lolz! I want to be chased!"
Not sure what else a survivor could do but run in a line and die which is equally dumb, but more movie-esque. At least survivors don't randomly trip on stuff, or break heels, or some such.
Breaking line of sight, and hiding isn't all that great of an option most times. I wish it were though.
If someone is eating up your time in loops, then start to ignore them. Odds are they're the bodyguard of the group, and you're doing what they want.
Other people may be weaker at chases.
-
She's likely pulling the gate lever so She's exerting force, so her face is scrunched up accordingly.

Not everyone is a "4 men squad". Not all lobbies will have 4 toolboxes, and if they do and you dont have franklins, you can always dodge.
I'm talking about solo survivors who do a gen without toolboxes and the killer gets salty and calls it "genrush".
Not Every killer tunnels, and/or camps?
Like I said, even without toolboxes survivors can rush the gens. It's not uncommon to see 3 pop in a small window of time.
It doesn't matter what a solo does when it's the result of the actions of 4 people. This isn't a 1v1 game.
I only run solo as a survivor.
Neither you, nor I can control what others do, be it a 3 man, or 3 solos, or a 2 man and another solo, but their actions still impact the game.
I'm not interested in laying it all at the feet of the killer. It's a vicious cycle both sides perpetuate. The pendulum swings both ways.
-

If they're done under 5 minutes it says more about the killer than the survivors, unless they were all using toolboxes etc
As if survivors don't use toolboxes?
Imagine a killer seeing a squad of 4 with toolboxes in their lobby.
And possibly not having Franklin's unlocked.
Worse yet, quick switching at the last second to help make sure Franklin's doesn't come into play. Oh, yeah, survivors can be scummy about it.
Or SWFs having a low rank so they can rush on low rank killers.
Matchmaking isn't great to begin with.
Even without toolboxes it's not unusual to have multiple gens pop in the first minutes of the game, even among the best dbd youtubers.
It's not fun seeing that no matter how you get there, it means you're going to get rushed and the killer lost a lot of time to do things.
You don't have to rush any more than the killer has to camp, or tunnel, but many survivors do, and act like it's ok.

Tunneling isn't mandatory, doing gens is.
Killing is as mandatory as generators.
You're comparing how someone gets an objective done to an objective to be done.
Gens are necessary, but you don't have to shoot for doing them in under 5 minutes, or work on them so aggressively.
