Some killers complain about "GeN rUsHiNG" and it's toxic to 99% of them.

Glad to see it isn't toxic to you!

I would disagree that gen rush is toxic because of the sheer speed at which they can get done (especially coordinated teams, 5 in 4 minutes is ludicrous)... but working on the objective by default is not toxic.

First two sentence confirmed your opinion is invalid.

So... they disagree with you, so you decide their opinion is worthless? That's a great way to debate people...

  • @premiumRICE said:

It is. Cause you are taking the game hostage both for you and him. And btw im nor sure the other three wish to play press the skillcheck.

so yea you can do it, its not bannable, but it is toxic

Well, technically, only survivors can progress the game. The killer can only slow it down. Killers can't take the game hostage, because they cannot control the speed of the game.

I don't know why you would facecamp, as it does nothing for you as a killer, but saying it is taking the game hostage is a lie.

    is this lighting update?

It feels like BHVR broke the lighting, I remember in 2016-2017 it was more beautiful, but now its just pepe popo

But we have a cool battlepass and the best amulets that fit into the atmosphere of the game. I still hope that the game will improve for the better, sometimes they do really good things

I wish the old lighting was for survivor only. That way killers can see, but survivors still have to be on their toes.

Ultimately though, @Doddle28 is correct. Wrong place for this discussion.

  • I wouldn't mind. I mean, I'd rather have it in the future, after a bunch of original characters (from different places since we already have 2 oriental ones, so it seems a bit much to me).

  • @Ravean said:

Actually it doesn't matter what new killers come out, since they're either to weak to be fun to play or they will get nerfed till they are. What's more important is what new Survivor is coming out.

The fact that this is the truth at the moment is rather sad...

Because pallets and windows are still a thing. Maps with large open areas with plenty ti rub through are still a thing. So basically, yes, looping is still a thing

This and it is still tied to a perk.

To be fair a lot of killers will say "You're supposed to hide from the killer, not run around pallets in circles!". Technically this is what those same killers are asking for.

But the gens can still get done even with stealth. I am not the best survivor, but have been able to do just that. Killers mains like myself do not like being stunned every few minutes just because the map allows the survivors to. Its boring and tedious. And survivor mains (the ones that only play survivor) use them to be toxic more than they would if survivor was less powerful.

3rd hook because I messed up in chases? I don't understand why this option isn't here, it's like you cant loose because the killer is just better than you..

And also, in my experience, it's uncommon that people simply leave me on the hook. Most of the cases when this happens is because the unhook would be way too unsafe, and honestly I don't blame them. I think people on this poll are not completely honest or just remember their bad games..

Don'tcha know, survivors have enough second chance perks where they don't need skill to outplay killers! XD

  • Everyone else just annoying the killer, leaving gens to me. When they do get them all, I have to deal with either getting door or hatch, because survivors can be idiotic in how they play a match.

  • @oxygen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254144#Comment_1254144

To not get hit by BT + DS if you can't afford to eat it? Even with just DS they're basically a healthy target as you'll have to hit them twice to put them on a hook again just like a healthy survivor, if BT is used as well they're basically healthier than a regular healthy survivor.

You can of course down them and just wait out DS, but at that point you're basically camping a survivor that isn't even going through the sacrifice process on a hook. If a bad save is made and you can quickly slug them and immediately get on the unhooker that's some easy free pressure though of course.

Or... you can eat the DS, and then tunnel them relentlessly since they don't have it anymore. It is like DS doesn't do its' own job well...

  • The simple solution to that should be door regression. It takes so little time to open, but they 99 it in case of blood warden... If there was regression, sure, BW would be more popular, but it is still limited in usefulness...

  • @ChiTenshi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254123#Comment_1254123

    Que?

It’s core design and function is to be an Anti-tunnel Perk, how is it not?

Because when it is gone, it is gone for good. People are free to tunnel as much as they want when DS is gone. Those who will tunnel wont stop because of a 5 second stun, and you can't do it again. It should be an anti-tunnel perk, but right now it simply isn't. And it is really versatile too, adding to the problem.

  • The Sad part is, if you use DS, they will just tunnel you even more because it really isn't an anti-tunnel perk.

  • My couple rules as survivor:

1: Don't play toxic. As a killer main, I know what they go through. So I will keep that to a minimum when possible. Although it is hard to be toxic in this game...

2: Never use DS. It's a dumb perk and should feel bad.

3: If I know you are cheating or extremely toxic, prepare for your future games with me to be ruined. Slugging everyone as nurse to bleed out? Using cheat software to know where everyone is as Nurse? Prepare for your survivor games to be just as unfun as that (Looking at you, Rapture, if you even read the forums).

Other then that, Anything is really free game.

  • Or an offline mode. DBD mobile has bots, why not the main game?

  • This is also on Xbox as well. Played a few huntress games and got no deviousness points to show for it.

  • Hag has map pressure. But I agree with the overall statement. Killers need more map pressure in their design if they are not going to fix the gen speeds.

  • Maybe because it is not viable to play all killers seriously? I mean, Why play slowdown Legion when Freddy can do it better and passively?

All killers should be equal strength. But, survivor (only) mains complain when a killer is too strong, and they get nerfed (Nurse and Spirit, anyone?). Billy has been mostly untouched, but that is because the devs like where he is. I find him annoying more so than any other killer.

I wish I could play Legion or Deathslinger at high ranks, but they suffer massively without the right perks, and I just want to run what I want to, not the meta. But the meta is what you have to play to have a chance at fun these days. : P

This has to be one of the biggest issues with BHVR as a whole, there is no consistency for certain things.

Take Iron Will & Stridor as another example: iron will 100% reduces the sounds made by injury. Now, normal people understand that you can never make a sound from nothing no matter how high you turn up the volume, but instead of being realistic & designing the perks to work like their descriptions say they should, Stridor takes that silence and turns it into sound because <reasons>.

Moris are also still an OP offering that completely turn the tide of any game they're used in, while the only survivor counterparts were heavily nerfed (instaheals/ BNP) multiple times.

Well, but even that is bugged. Stridor should just cancel Iron Will instead of increasing the volume. Besides, Normal breathing should be raised regardless, since that is what it says it does.

And this is not about moris. At all. If I am to give any opinion on it, It would be that it is overall consistent with the game (if it wants to be a horror game). The fog is supposed to take the beasts side, as it is described in game, so moris should be there... however, I agree that it needs a tone down. However, all this post is about is just asking about changing perks to make them more consistent as well as more useful in certain situations. Besides, you still have keys, so your point is still not relevant.

Try to stay relevant to the post, alright?

  • @LALYTHIA said:

"And a personal gripe about keys: it is very hard for me to see keys in the menu. They are small and are a similar color to the ground, combined with the fact that my eyesight is not the best... I cant see keys in the lobby. So when people escape and I see they had a they had a key, I get pissed because I literally couldn't see it coming."

Welcome to what's like to be a survivor. 😂

Well, I added that because there are people who have better eyesight than me. Dismissing the other points because I add a caveat at the end for why I, personally, don't like keys is just a weak argument.

Ultimately, comparing not being able to see something that should be shown at the beginning to something you are never meant to know ahead of time are two very different things. (For instance, seeing a Ghostface ahead of time will allow survivors to make anti-Ghostface builds, ruining the killers experience overall.)

Killer and survivor are two fundamentally different experiences and weakening one side to strengthen the other is only going to hurt the game in the long run.

Survivors should need teamwork to actually win a match. They don't have to because of 1 item (and lots and lots of crutch perks).

  • What do you mean? If you are talking for cosmetic ideas, they can't do that with licensed characters.

  • Mori activation requirement: 1 hook and 1 down.

Key requirement: Get the hatch to spawn.

How difficult is it to use at high level play?

Mori: You have to down 1 survivor twice (if used toxically, that is). That can take up to 2 minutes for each one (depending on the survivor), which can allow them to get all the gens done, and for the others to escape. That is if you tunnel that one survivor. All survivors are given a warning that you are using a mori as well, so they will probably sweat even harder. I have seen killers bring moris but not kill a single survivor because they don't get caught or don't get caught twice. That and I have seen people dc when they get downed twice, even if they were not tunneled, just to avoid one.

Key: You have to get more gens done than people alive for the hatch to spawn. The first 3 usually go pretty quickly, if you can get the last 2 done, then there is at least 1 guaranteed escape. Depending if you are preparing ahead of time, you can hide the fact you have a key. However, if survivors are pressured, they may prepare for a hatch game. This means that they will check for a key on corpses or in chests. The mere presence of a key (without a White Ward or Weaved Ring) practically guarantees 1 survivor escapes, but I have had games with 3 survivor escapes because of a key. All because I was applying a little bit of pressure.

And a personal gripe about keys: it is very hard for me to see keys in the menu. They are small and are a similar color to the ground, combined with the fact that my eyesight is not the best... I cant see keys in the lobby. So when people escape and I see they had a they had a key, I get pissed because I literally couldn't see it coming.

  • I played her a few times before the rework and a few times after. She was really not fun before, but now she is the physical embodiment of nails on a chalkboard. She is that unfun to play as. Couple that with red rank arrogance on the survivor side, and you get a game not even worth trying on.

Thank goodness I got her achievements before the rework. Those would be impossible for me now.

I am on Xbox by the way.

  • And here I thought I would be in the minority... but most people don't bring items. Must be my region that relies on items then. : /

  • This would be abused by high rank SWF if they wanted their friend to escape. So no, it will not be a good addition.

  • Anyone who brings a key, because they will use it for themselves. Without fail. That and I cannot see them in the menu from the killer side, so I have to guess if they brought it or not.

  • Killer:

I am actually a big fan of Rancor at the moment, and not just because of the mori, but because the gens pop quickly, I could get readings on survivors right next to me and they would not realize I had it. The mori is just a bonus when they get the gens done, but sometimes they don't, and it just shows that you don't need meta perks to do well. That being said, it is nice because the indicators aren't aura readings, meaning I can use them with any killer to get the information.

It is reliable and fun for me. : P

    Survivor:

Aftercare. It encourages me to be better, but it also encourages teamwork. It also helps the team passively as long as I do my part. I pair it with WGLF so I can get more points.

  • @Viceus said:

yap people says killer easy etc... survivor even no perk as long as 4 man SWF... Very ez escape...

I already try many achievement of adept survivor.... of course teaming with my friend on Discord...

This thread is not about if killer is easy. It is about how many of the best killer perks are under pay for characters (Clown, Plague, Legion, Micheal... you get the point).

  • Calm spirit changes is a flat out nerf, while Iron will would make it more prevalent than it already is. You are basically putting two perks in one, and both are decent on their own.

Thrill shouldn't be a hex perk. It isn't strong enough to be one.

Huntress skill checks should affect all skill checks (including pig boxes, and any other action with skill checks).

Third Seal Buff: Make survivors oblivious when the hex is applied.

Retribution buff: make the auras happen whenever a totem is broken.

Discordance buff: when you are in the killers terror radius, you will gain tokens back, up to a maximum.

  • Killer:

Rancor: With gens getting done really quickly, this perk makes people realize that they might not want to gen rush so quickly... if they know about the perk. And since I pair it with furtive and nemesis, I can hunt the survivors without issue and they'll be pressured into not knowing its in the game.

STBFL: A certain playstyle is encouraged and makes chases shorter.

Nemesis: My favorite perk to combo with Rancor, because you can mori multiple people if you have it.

BBQ: An incentive to not linger too much as well as double BPs.

    Survivor:

WGLF: More points and encourages teamwork.

Head On: The only Exhaustion perk I respect, requires skill and timing to use properly. It gets annoying if you pair it with a coordinated team or DS, but I use it without those perfectly fine.

Aftercare: Encourages teamwork (healing/saving) and gives you a benefit for not getting caught. It also gives teammates a benefit by highlighting what you are doing to everyone else. It is underrated because people like to get chased. I don't.

Stake Out: Encourages not getting caught, similar to Aftercare.

  • He is fun to play, but he is terrible at map pressure.

I haven't had enough experience going against him to make any statements about that.

Like I said, I didn't include everything but all ideas are welcome. :)

On a personal note though, I'm not a huge fan of Joke cosmetics, I mention a few of them in the polls because I know people will talk about them regardless of my opinion on them so I might as well include them in the polls to begin with, but I'm not the biggest proponent for the integration of cosmetics like Sunglasses Freddy, Derp-Face, and Speedo Quentin. This is why none of them appeared as images in the poll, and Sunglasses Freddy didn't show up in the poll options because I think this is one of the lower priority cosmetics people want to see just generally speaking out of the whole history of the character.

These cosmetics don't fit in the game because they don't push forward the horror thematic that Dead By Daylight largely strives to achieve, even if those of us who have played for hundreds of hours might find a kind of humor in the game that's mostly due to desensitization rather than anything else. As for the idea that "the devs have already implemented Joke cosmetics, look at Elephant Clown or shirtless david!" well, that's not entirely true because those cosmetics fit with their characters.

    In-game examples explained

    David

David is an aggressive athlete who loves to get into bar fights and brawls, he's described almost like a bully or a bit of an ######### so it makes sense that he would show off his physique to not only gloat but be condescending or intimidating to others. Those same cosmetics sport generally sport hand wraps that have blood on them because of the fistfights David gets into and if there are no hand wraps you can see his knuckles are actually bruised beneath. In different variations of this cosmetic we can see all kinds of bruises and scars that cover his body because of the extremely intense fights he likes to participate in. This makes sense because of his lore and his character

    The Clown

Likewise the Clown dresses up flamboyantly and vibrantly in order to lure in his victims and lull them into a false sense of security. A very clear and intentional contrast to the disturbing individual beneath the exuberant makeup and flashy clothes, once isolated and alone he drugs his victims with the afterpiece tonic he's personally concocted making it even easier to overpower his victims on top of his naturally big size. The Elephant Clown cosmetic is made even darker and more sinister if you consider the fact that this is tailored to look like the exaggerated mascots of characters from Family Entertainment Restaurants like Chuck E Cheese. Meaning "Mr. Puddles" as the name of the cosmetic is called, might have been made to lure in much smaller prey, which wouldn't be outside of his character because he likes to collect Trophies of all kinds. "Men, women, young, old, he didn't care. The essence of a good collection is in the variety, in the memories and stories they evoke." and this is basically confirmed in a separate cosmetic which is literally titled "Children's Parties"... that doesn't leave much to the imagination. Even if he's not going after children are you really going to tell me it wouldn't be terrifying to stumble into a huge man wearing a bloodied elephant costume in an alleyway at night? Viewed from this light, the "Mr. Puddles" cosmetic isn't so funny anymore.

    Joke cosmetics and context

On the other hand, the proposed Joke cosmetics that people want to see don't fit the themes of their characters. The version of Freddy we see in Dead By Daylight is a much darker more serious version than the self-parody that Freddy fell into after the fourth movie was released, and even if we did get a more lighthearted version of Freddy if we secured Robert Englund's likeness the cosmetic still wouldn't work because there wouldn't be the proper context to fit the cosmetic.

    Sunglasses Freddy

Sunglasses Freddy works in the movie because of the context of the scene, in the movie he appears in the Nightmare of a Woman relaxing on a perfect day at the beach. Freddy mockingly fits on a pair of sunglasses for the occasion, not for no reason, but to ridicule, deride, and mock her in the setting. When she runs away she is quickly caught stuck in quicksand and with the sunglasses on he kicks her over and over deeper into the quicksand and then laughs as he relishes the moment. But taken out of context as the internet often does, it quickly becomes memeable, and nothing more than just an iconic horror villain looking funny because he has sunglasses on. This doesn't work in Dead By Daylight, because the context doesn't fit, there is no beach, no hot sand or water in sight, and hell there isn't even a sun in any of the maps save for one singular location. It doesn't make sense

    Speedo Quentin

Likewise Quentin Smith in his story is on his high school swim team, it makes sense for him to wear a speedo when he's trying to do fast laps and be as efficient as possible in the water. When he's pulled into the dream world very briefly due to micro sleep because at this point in the movie he's been awake for many many hours he's understandably scared. Confused as to where he is, and looks and feels completely out of place because he's wearing a speedo in some kind of factory yard. He's wet, and terribly cold in his new surroundings and how he holds himself tightly reflects that. Since I can't imagine the devs would create entirely new animations for a single cosmetic, all this uncertainty that the character exudes in the moment is washed away, because the context is no longer there and it just becomes a guy walking around in the dark in a speedo.

    Derp-Face

Derp-face isn't even an actual mask Ghostface ever uses in any of his actual FILMS. It's a mask very briefly used for a joke in "Scary Movie" a parody of the original Scream movies and very obviously a Comedy not a horror movie. Ghostface in Dead By Daylight is not the same character in either Scream or Scary Movie but a unique original one from BHVR that retains many of the horror elements of uncertainty and "who is it beneath the mask" of the original character. He's a proficient serial killer who actually enjoys what he does, he literally does this ######### for fun unlike most of the other killers here who were forced, coerced, or persuaded by the entity to do its dirty work he welcomed the change in scenery and needed absolutely no incentive to track down and murder anyone he found in the fog. His mind isn't broken, he wasn't wronged in any way and is out for revenge, he is fully aware of his surroundings and in complete control of his actions but he doesn't care, he is entirely willing and this arguably makes him the most evil character in the game. He takes pride in his work and is even shown to possess a dark sense of humor taking selfies with dying survivors in his mori who are bleeding to death in the photo. But this dark sense of humor is a very far cry from the purely comedic "derp-face" mask which doesn't fit contextually in any horror setting.

TL;DR "Joke cosmetics" such as the big aforementioned three don't have a fitting place for the aesthetic Dead By Daylight pushes forward. While many may find some dark sense of humor (or just straight up comedy) from certain existing cosmetics in the game, they still work because they properly fit the context of the character they belong to. Likewise, many of these proposed joke cosmetics (the aforementioned big three) only work because of the context of their source material, context which just doesn't exist in DBD.

So... what about Dwelf then? Or is that allowed because it fits the theme? : /

There could be a lot of cosmetic choices people say are silly and dont belong, yet they are here to stay. Ugly sweaters are another good example of this.

No need to write an essay for what is clearly a joke.

Huntress. I don't know how often "Iridescent Head" spawns in her bloodweb, but jeeze I get hit with it every time.

As Iri head is the only Iridescent addon for her (with only Ebony Moris competing for that spot)... you'll probably get a lot more than you would other addons for other killers. And if they are prestiged, well, then that will be fun for you all. : D

  • I agree with this completely. It is even worse for me because, with the way the menu is now and my less than perfect eyesight, I can't see keys in the menu... so If I see someone change characters during that time I wont be able to see if they have a key... which means I have to play like they have a key when they might not have one...

  • Well, all I could say is that I wish I could be in your position if they are extremely easy survivors. I always get toxic tryhards, so my game is less fun than yours.

No I agree. Im saying the game isn't in a healthy state to include DC bans especially since people use it as an excuse to be as toxic as possible.

Yeah, you just framed it like survivors suffer from this more when everyone does. : P

  • I don't defend survivor dcs because the other three are stuck there and have to deal with a probably remorseless killer (after going through toxic red ranks)...

However, I might defend killer dcs if it is clear that they are not having fun and are just being bullied. It is ending an unfun match early for everyone, and survivors keep what points they earned and can immediately look for another match. I dont see why DCing as killer is that bad in that specific circumstance...

  • The same could be said for killers facing toxic survivors. They don't want to deal with their toxicity, but they must lest the DC ban strike them down.

  • I actually play as Laurie, Tapp, or Jeff the most.

What about Killers too or would you want this to only effect survivors? Just asking because Killers can prestige too.

Well, this problem really doesn't effect killers as much as it does survivor. Sure, there is Forever Freddy, but he got nerfed to be half as good not too long ago. Most killers earn their pressure. Survivors don't have to since their perks do that for them.

  • Sure, why not? It is better than most of the Killer vs. Survivor stuff going on right now...

    Q1: Wraith, he actually tries.

Q2: They are masks... but Id have to go with Michael. You can't make his mask very expressive. Opposite is true of GF.

Q3: Bubba because... the acceleration man!

Q4: Pig. At least she plays games and likes children.

    Q5: Not gonna answer that.

Q6: Actually, I would hire Pig or Billy for car repairs. They are more mechanically inclined... Slinger would just turn it into an iron maiden, and trapper is not a mechanic. He just enforces the workers.

Q7: Clown. But... since he is not an option... Freddy.

Q8: Huntress because at least she wont puke on me if we kiss. And she is a beautiful russian gal (watch this and tell me she isn't beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JArgf2QCVF4).

Q9: Frank, because I am pretty sure he made the Legion menu music. I don't know what Joey's mixtape is like, but Frank's is pretty good.

Q10: I would go with Bubba for his award winning chili, but since he isn't there, probably Hag. At least she can cook... with her totems!

Q11: Julie. No question. She is just as pretty as Huntress, but in a different way.

Why would the demogorgon care about hooking people for the entity?

It was trained to do so by the entity. There is the precedent in the show for similar control (Demodogs + the Mind Flayer). Werewolves seem much more feral, harder to control.

Ultimately, I would like to see a werewolf in game. I think it could work. Only barely though.

  • They have already said they are sticking to HUMANOID killers. Not monstrous, since they would have to make all new rigs for that.

  • They would have to up the rating from mature to adult (which search engines censor, because games in that category are iffy at best), and they would have to deal with the backlash.

  • First off, don't call it a tech. This makes it seem legitimate, like the Tractor tech. It isn't.

Second, I completely agree. It should do something like a husk or a bot would be great.
