Seems like a lot of people on the DBD forums don't like playing DBD....
Business as usual.
-
I play mostly solo queue and killer.
Good times on both sides :)
-
Using DS/OTR/UB aggressively is legitimate play.
Usually results in a death sentence for the player in my games on either side.
Whether you opt to 'tunnel' such players or not is also a legitimate play, as is your choice to use the perks in such a way.
You don't need a psychology degree to play Dead by Daylight and you can hook someone twice In a row without being a horrible person.
Wild stuff, I know.
-
I like the game a lot, too.

This is fair- but you are not thinking of the longevity of a game where new players are likely playing with experienced friends. People do not want to be tunneled out after just starting a new game. It makes it not fun. I don't know why this is a hard concept to grasp?

Player retention seems to be fine.

When you're trying to escape The Clown…best not to resort to any funny business!
But yeah, pre-drops are king!

Videos are now circulating T_T
Edit after watching:
My bad…that was a DIFFERENT pallet bug on the same map!
O_O;; -

I just had a match on RPD where survivors lured me into one of the rooms with a pallet in the corner, and when they dropped the pallet on me I wasn't able to break the pallet nor move out of the corner I was trapped in because of some invisible wall. And I am pretty positive the survivors knew about that bug so it seems to always be there.
Beware of that map. It seems to be broken.
That sucks.
I feel like I'm trapped every time that map loads T_T

Yes, it is.
I've noticed a massive amount of map desync. I've been able to walk through jungle gyms for hits, not to mention edge tiles.
Thanks for the confirmation :3
I am just doing Tome stuff, so I'm not playing super hard, but it's still frustrating to see the game do different stuff than my inputs tell it to and/or what it should in any given scenario.

To combat the most egregious cases of facecamping where it was next to impossible to get an unhook, that's why the meter has a distance requirement to it, as unhooks can be made if the killer is camping at a distance, if killer is hitting a survivor on the hook for example, they're clearly too close and will trigger the antifacecamp meter.
I actually don't think the wording is that vague on our communications, but thank you for the feedback on it - our intention is of course to be as clear as possible and given the name of the feature includes the word facecamp in it and a distance requirement, it does appear, to me at least, to be very clear in intention.
Thanks for clarifying.
I thought it was pretty clear, too, but it was nice of you to clarify as people have started using the wording of the post to mean whatever they feel it should mean instead of what it literally says verbatim.

Really? I'd compare it to NOED revealing its own location.
Adrenaline is still one of the best perks in the game.
Time will prove this statement correct.

Guess we'll see how this nerf effects its pick rate ;3

Doesn't matter if it's a "nerf" or "buff" - spinning your wheels on this one.
Fun is subjective and the gameplay is appropriate for the theme. As I said just because you don't like some gameplay that doesn't invalidate it.
You're simplifying the point again with your "appeal to authority" take. Its not that its automatically good just because BHVR say so and players are welcome to critique it. But its part of the game so until something changes expect it might happen. I personally don't think it's problem on this we disagree and that's fine. BHVR have final say on that though and if its not for you then maybe DBD isn't for you.
If you insist on simplifying things then for example - I don't play candy crush its not for me, I also don't expect the developers of candy crush to change their game simply because I'm not a fan. If you aren't a fan move on already.
Here's a quick answer for you - One game has more interaction but both have gameplay.
Interaction is not the be all and end all of gameplay. You may think it is but its not. If you crave constant interaction then some parts of DBD are going to disappoint you. Which is very clear that's what you crave so stock up on disappointment there is a lot coming.
You are still playing the game when countering camping and tunneling. You are simply interacting with game items and enviroment rather than the killer player. Survivors have stuff to do when the killer camps and tunnels its just not interacting with the killer.
There is more to DBD than just being chased by the killer… you may dismiss everything else other than that but there is more. Those other things actually make up a larger portion of the game than player interaction. You choosing to ignore them as gameplay doesn't make them any less gameplay.
Same as your choosing to call players "A-holes" because they don't play how you prefer, it doesn't make them an "a-hole". Same as your dislike of lack of direct interaction doesn't invalidate all of the non-interactive parts of the game.
Its very clear you have an expectation from the game and don't like it when those expectations aren't met. Well guess what… tough. Suck it up or rage quit, the choice is yours. But if you are going to quit do so before you queue up and ruin the game for people who aren't quitters, even when they don't get the specific gameplay they want.
I must have missed all the 'a-hole' talk.
Mega cringe to refer to people playing a game whatever way as such :(
Shame people can't discuss things based in reality instead of their own heated feelings.
-
Very amusing thread.
Great read so far!

The game didn't change just because you became desensitized to it. Its still very much a survival horror regardless of some players efforts to undermine that.
Defending a hook is not avoidance of gameplay. In fact it can sometimes be the best play to make. By this logic hiding from the killer is avoidance of gameplay, sometimes its also the best play to make.
Some gameplay might not be your desired gameplay but that distinction doesn't make it any less gameplay.
A lot of people that play DBD only seem to enjoy 'perfect/ideal' gameplay from either side...which is rarely the reality in any game involving actual people.
Reality is a lot of people don't like DBD but play DBD for whatever reason then develop some weird stances that seem to stem from cognitive dissonance.

Yup, different games.

Because a game I used to enjoy playing both solo and with friends is going downhill due to the number of nerfs happening to survivors to make the game less balanced. Did you read the initial post or…?
Yeah, the crazy misplays in that post were definitely something @_@

Two massive misplays.

Man I almost exclusively play killer I'm trying to p100 huntress at the moment, I absolutely hate the games were people give up and I don't get my hook states and the much needed bp. I could careless about the pip system honestly it doesn't mean anything at all to me and winning is so subjective that I stopped caring a long time ago. I guess people expect tunneling so they just assume the worst and press next.
If you ever see a mordeo huntress that's just throwing absurd hatchets it's probably me, I'll play serious to 2 hook everyone and then just practice trick shots. Occasionally I'll kill a terrible teammate for the teams sake ofc.
If I'm try-harding for whatever reason….or even playing chill….and someone does that, I'll two-hook everyone, max most of my categories, and start dropping people near gens so they can finish them and leave.
It's not their fault, after all, that they got a weak teammate.
Sometimes the person sticks around in end-game chat and asks 'WHY?!' - They usually get a 'Good Game Everyone :D - Great scores, good luck next game :3'

Its nice that you took the time to draw that, but kind of meaningless, since I said that Object of Obsession made Midwich an absolute pain for any killer that didn't have mobility. Object of obsession no longer lets survivors get away with playing ring around the rosie on Midwich, it hasn't for years now.
And yes, Nurse and Blight are strong against holding W, Because they have mobility powers. I don't really see what the point of bringing them up even is. It would be more interesting to discuss the killers that can play around holding W by using stealth or creative uses of their powers. You're pretty new here, but you'll eventually learn that not everyone is playing the same game.

No…I am not sure where you are getting that conclusion from. Tell me where you somehow came to that conclusion when I was just pointing out how you can calculate winrate?
Here, let me give you another example.
You play 5 games as killer. You get 3 kills in four matches, but no kills in your fifth match.
You encountered 20 survivors overall, you killed 12 of them, so your killrate is 60%.
You won four out of five matches. So your winrate as killer is 80%.
Can you understand what I am trying to spell out to you now? Literally the same killrate as before, but this time the winrate was drastically different.Save your keystrokes, friend.
-
I find it pretty chill.
Escaped 3 out of 7 games tonight with a couple of them being able to have went either way…and one where I died to due to an uncharacteristic bout of Altruism in end game.
-
Lots of BP, too, as it was done during Blood Moon.
-
spins in place
loses hard
😠
-
26 more….but only if the killer is truly black of heart!
-
They probably recorded and reported you for teaming with the survivor to kill them, knowing the player base @_@

Inspiring!

Yeah it took them ~2 years to realize that the 2s change was bad. It took them 2 weeks/9 months to buff Pain Res, 11 months to buff Pop, and 2 years to buff DS. Do we need to wait another year before they buff Self-Care or Thana? It was clear the 6.1 perk changes were bad, and trickling out these changes shows they know they were bad, but don't want to admit to all of them at once.
I'd love a self-care buff >:3
-
Thank you both for visiting my grave, for my topic title was edited and I am buried in the Feedback section :(
-
If you're at high MMR as Survivor, you're escaping quite a bit, so clearly the game is not only playable, but also winnable.
-
You shouldn't care about other people's opinions on your gameplay unless they're sharing tech/tips/etc.
Did you have fun? Great!
No? Try again >:3
A lot of people that play this game have been stuck in a miserable mindset for years - you'll identify some on the forums quite easily by their postings, in the end game chat by their bashing, etc.
It's a weird combination of ego and victimhood mentality that causes me to roll my eyes into outer space.
Play the game your way and be civil - regardless of outcome, you'll always be a winner :3
-
He has 3 different survivors hooked.
I guess he should have tunneled or camped more in the game to get a better result.
Hopefully he reads the forums and rectifies this skill issue post-haste!
Some people are going to be miserable regardless of what happens in-game.
Most topics on the forums these days have me rolling my eyes into outer space.

I guess its time to try Freddy out, again... wish me luck in the fog.
His Killer Instinct add-ons have helped me a surprising number of times.
Just a suggestion to give them a whirl 😀
-
Oh, sometimes I let people that are really struggling kill me if they stick around for the full game.
I'll drop my item and walk back in from the gates.
-
I ask the Magic 8 Ball if I should let the last survivor go before hooking them.

Hit 10 survivor(s) within 30 seconds of them being revealed by an aura reading ability.
Hook 2 different survivors with 60 seconds. Do this 5 times.
Down 5 survivors affected by a status effect that you inflicted.
Some of these are crazy
Wraith with aura add-on, lethal, and floods of rage had me getting 2/10 per chase.
Was pretty easy.
-
The killer is allowed to complete their objective as quickly or as slowly as they desire.
BHVR is not going to redesign the game at this point.

DH will always be a staple in my builds. Distortion is often subbed back and forth with Sole Survivor, so I love what you got going :)
Windows and DejaVu aren't used often by myself, so I've little to add, but Now Im curious. Might try this. Looks like a solid 7/10
My usual is DH, Object of Obsession, Sole Survivor, and Empathy.
Object and Sole work well together, as I try to get myself sacrificed so the others can leave, per my name. If they kill others, Sole kicks in and denies them my Object aura. I try to get out at that point :)
Em,pathy lets me know where the kill is for chases, and heal up vulnerable survivors.
Edit: Dammit I was slooooowwww! lol
Windows is a crazy good perk.
I'd argue that it's one of the best perks in the game.
Try it out...you may be surprised!
-
I usually don't go into games to 'test' people then tell them they 'failed' post game, but then again, I also don't 1v1 the killer in a mutual agreement for 15 minutes while there are other survivors in game.
Given your myriad of complaints about various behaviors in the game, perhaps you could strive to be the positive changes you'd like to see reflected in the behavior of others.
-
Never knew about it.
Lame, per usual :(
-
No one in the match did anything to progress the game for 15 minutes.
Everyone is guilty for extending the game beyond its expected length.
