  • The Build I used to run:

Leader- Having help healing, Cleansing, Unhooking are pretty good IMO

Stakeout- Getting the bonus for being close to the Killer is good IMO

Kindred- Getting to know where the Killer is moving to (or staying) and knowing where the other Survivors are is good IMO

Prove Thyself- Getting Gens done in Solo Queue is hard enough so yea

  • It's a strat that either works or it doesn't

If the Killer is camping then stay away from that area... run Kindred so either you can see the other Survivors or allow the team to see each other and the Killer if it is a Facecamp

Camping has low returns in the beginning of the match... so take advantage of it pop 2-3 Gens and then go for the save of there is time

  • So taking an addon or two and making them base?

Some of those do make sense

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

100% agreed. 30% gen regression that they can potentially keep getting as long as someone on the team cleanses something is unbalanced af. Killers saying it takes effort to light them when it take less time to light a pentimento totem than it does to bless a boon totem are entitled af.

30% regression turns 90 second gens into 117 second gens. Thats insane.

But having 2 Survivors on a Gen makes it go from 90 seconds to 56 seconds

And it isn't regression... it's action speed reduction

Regression actually takes longer based on the 90 seconds Gen

  • yea... I can see that working

  • Old Ruin and then even the change didn't stay weak for vary long

Till now Ruin has been well used

  • If they do "nerf" it then someother perk will take it's place

Just leave it and be happy that Survivors are using it... cause it beats the alternative

  • I give Hatch every- so- often

It depends on how I'm feeling at that time

  • Yes I like the idea of Basekit Kindred... but only if Survivors can see each other

Leave the Killer's aura to the perk Kindred

  • They made the game to frustrate one side... they even said it a year or so ago

  • I would like a Tomb Raider paragraph rather then a full chapter

  • I was going to say a stadium Map for him

  • I mean... giving the current state of the game it seems like trying to go for a boop will lead to a hook stage

  • At this point Ruin isn't worth having any residual effects... cause they decreased the regression rate... but then Ruin being where it is does bring up regression

The other ones are limiting to put in a residual effect... Huntress Lullaby could just continue to give more regression on missed skillchecks

Thrill Of The Hunt doesn't need a residual effect

Devour Hope could countdown (like 15-30 seconds)

Retribution doesn't need a residual effect

The Third Seal... I don't know

NOED is still complained about so no to that one

  • But forcing players to spend 50,000 BP to get a prestige level isn't worth it (IMO)

Yea having the ability to not worry about getting to unlock teachables does a lot... but at what cost

They needed to do something to level it all out and that's why all of those people did do the math

  • Thanks...

  • It's cause the Devs went with the wrong changes....

And Maps still being the same

And Killer Powers still being the same

For everything to be good everything needs something done to it

  • It's because the Devs went the wrong way with the basekit changes

instead of decreasing the weapon hit cooldown, and the 10 extra charges to complete a Gen and DS changes (which needed to stay at 5 seconds)... they should've dealt with the base regression first and see how things turn out

  • The "meta" hasn't changed... it's the same strats but with different perks

Well they also mentioned map reworks and the last one was what.. half a year ago? And we didn't get any new maps since then either. Map team is seriously slacking

That's because they need to code certain things and make the Map generator algorithm work for the Map

And the fact that there are so many Maps

  • If they are single use then why not make it change to another hook

  • I mean it depends on how the coding goes

Plus we don't know if there are any issues with Blizzard doing it

  • At this point is safe to assume they messed something up and now are trying to cover it up

Why have a 50,000 BP to prestige when before it was "free" but you lost everything

They should have done what COD does... Prestige means you lose everything but can permanently unlock something (either a Perk or an addon (that you can keep all of)

  • Oh damn.... It's been like 5-6 months... and I suffered from a stroke last year so my memory is kinda (bad word)

    1) Trapper... newer players

    2) Bubba... again newer players

    3) I'm going to say Pyramid Head

    4) I'm going to say Nemesis

  • A year.... But mostly it was a month of tryharding

and it was irritating to say the least

  • It's cause they forgot the fact that Killers aren't rewarded for Kicking Gens (with out Gen regression perks)and even then with the 10 extra charges it takes to complete a Gen it makes regressing the Gen take even longer

I recently watched a video looking at all of the regressing perks VS progression and it screamed that Gen regression was forgotten about

  • We all hoped for change but what we got instead was the same "meta" with different perks

  • BHVR... to say the least

they are the ones that control how players get matched, how the game is played and any changes that come into the game

  • But I can't tell if it's a full- half or almost gone....

  • Trapper: Has to rely on Survivors not paying attention to either him or the ground... addon dependent

Pig: having passive slowdown doesn't amount to much due to RNG (even though it has being somewhat changed)... and is addon dependent

Sadako: Bad map traversal (cause it's affected by generic map placement... it would be nice to see a change to something different).... also is addon dependent

  • Self Care should be about 40% if it does need "buffing"

Iron Will should be affected by Exhaustion... Cause it make sense... just don't run an Exhaustion perk

If anything they could be working on a perk for that (just saying)

But that's a lot of should and could

  • Solo's need more I agree...

Also making more Killers viable in High MMR would go a log way... same with perks

there are some things that could be done in my opinion.

Tunneling: If the Killer decides to tunnel, he really should be in a tunnel with the surv then, meaning, no more notifications for the killer, no failed skilcheck warnngs, no tinkerer warning, no nothing, just the kille rand the surv in their tunnel. after 1,5 - 2 min the outher sight of the killer blurrs, becaus he is so focused on the surv... thats what a tunnel is, so if killers decide to enter it, thats the price they have to pay. starting a "tunnelng event" could be like this huntress thing.. where the red stain wanishes after some time of chase.

Camping: Similar to tunneling. The killer is so focused at the hooked surv that his outer sight blurrs and there are no noise notifications anymore, so the killer CAN camp but has to pay a price for it.

Gen rush: If more than one surv making a gen the bonus decreses over time, lets say 2 servs, every 10 sec -5% bonus, 3 survs every 7 sec -10% bonus, 4 survs every 5 sec -15% bonus. Something like that.

And for both: Angry Entity: If both Killer AND Surv staying in 5m of the open or closed hatch, after some time the entity gets angry and kills the surv after some ammount of time and the killer gets a heavy malus of emblem points (maybe he cant have irdescent, only silver as maximum, something like that)

I do like those changes... it would be fun to try out

  • @Ayodam said:

There was a belief by BHVR before that if gen speeds were increased and killers could shorten chases, killers would not run Gen slowdown-heavy builds. What we saw in reality was that killers ran Gen-heavy builds despite the increase in Gen times & decrease in chase times. I don’t believe buffing Gen regression perks again (even if you revert the +10 second Gen repair time) will stop killers from running gen slowdown or regression perks. And it’s time we stop pretending that it will.

Again increasing the base Gen regression would change the game... I think in a way that would help with everything

  • @N8dog said:

Generator flow is the one element that the killer can not control. The more time the killer buys with their perks, the more time they have to chase and down survivors. It's not fun seeing a killer run brine, pr, jolt and oppression but as long as it works well killers will do these things. I personally like using corrupt, overcharge, stbfl and bamboozle. 1 perk to prevent things from getting out of hand quickly, 1 perk to regress gens, 1 momentum perk to enhance my lethality and 1 helpful utility perk that shuts loops down easier. Some people may say that I use a balanced build where salty survivors are gonna complain just because of corrupt intervention. As a killer I feel like what I should do is slow the game down, build momentum and down survivors as quickly as I can and that is why I love this build so much.

And increasing base Gen regression... and changing the regression perks... not buffing nor nerfing those perks (I'm starting to think that buffs and nerfs are just words that we as gamers can up with to help explain things)

I'm just asking for ideas To change the game rather it be perk changes or base game changes

Also using a heavy Gen regression builds are a thing cause the Base Gen regression is a moot point... so if we can change that it will help out narrowing down general builds and start getting Killer specific builds

  • I get it BP is a factor... but how about thinking of ways of changing the game... rather then making it more rewarding

  • That would help in some situations

But in others it's the fact that they don't want to play against a certain Killer... or a certain playstyle

I would suggest adding in Survival points into everything done... but cap it at 4,000 and then have escapes fill in the other 4,000 (or whatever the cap in total BP per category... cause doing Gens means Survival on top of Cleansing Totems, getting chased (to an extent), Healing yourself and teammates

  • @VicRatlhead said:

Longer gen times made camping more viable. It's great reassurance is getting added to discourage camping but a little sad that it's a perk people may or may not carry and it's really only useful against killers who actually camp.

It'll be like bringing unbreakable because you got slugged a few times and then ever killer you face after adding it immediately picks you up.

Used to work out that if someone camped you could hyperfocus on gens and get three out.

I agree... so what I'm saying is to revert that Gen change and put in an increase to base Gen regression... give Killers a bigger benefit to spending time to kick Gens

Some perks are just band-aids for an infected wound... and it's going to burst at some point... so why not take the time to fix it properly

  • @Man_of_triangles said:

Tunneling is fundamentally part of the game and is the objective of the killer. Even the matchmaking system incentivizes it. The game then provides survivors with ways to mitigate tunneling, mostly through perks which is not ideal

Camping isn't fundamentally part of the game, but it is the only way to win if the survivors are competent and you're not playing something like Nurse. As long as that is the case, killers will camp, and survivors will feed the strategy because they want bloodpoints and interaction.

You can't say that one thing is apart of the game and the other is not....

Plus at this point it's to the point that players aren't going to play one side or the other

It's time for a much bigger change then what we got... cause we all know that BHVR is capable of doing it

  • @Roaroftime said:

hun u just got ur entire base kit buffed its never been this difficult for solo queue survivor. stop.

Not all Killer basekit was changed... they didn't change base Gen regression

Just because it takes longer for Gens to get done... doesn't mean that regression is any better

I do understand that Solo Queue is terrible but look at the team(mates) rather then blaming the Killer for everything

  • @SuzuKR said:

The healthiest way to reduce it is the way that takes the most work. Reduce big map sizes, adjust tile spawn logic, and that will inherently make chases shorter, and in turn, gens feel less fast. Gen slowdown is just a bandaid for poor map design. The gen increase to 90s and other similar changes are also bandaids.

Furthermore, reducing the need to use those strategies reduces the frequency of their usage. If a killer can do fine without camping/tunneling, then it will happen less commonly. The people that do it regardless will always do it no matter how difficult you make it. Basically, not tunneling/camping needs to be as rewarding or more rewarding than using those strategies.

I agree with that... Maps do need adjustments in every way possible

But reducing the size and changing the logic on loops is a problem the algorithm can't handle... so I'd say making those adjustments are needed before making the maps smaller

Which is why I said increasing base Gen regression is one way of doing it... until they figure something out

  • I do understand that people have different meanings to Tunneling... but what's the truth cause if that was laid out to us we would be able to separate what Tunneling actually is VS. what people claim Tunneling is...

Please at least tell us BHVR....

  • Pig: Most of her addons aren't as good as first thought of... Plus her power being split into 3 parts (Crouching and dashing, Traps, Boxes)

Spirit: Again addons, but her phasing sound is hard to agree with at this point (Survivors whining about "having no counterplay"

Hag: Addons, And what was mentioned before

Huntress: Addons, and map barriers (invisible walls)

    TL;DR

    Addons for the most part

  • It seems to me to be a point of no return.... They do need to review the base game

I mean they did make base game changes... but there does need to be more base game data

  • Increasing Gen times isn't the answer... increasing base Gen regression is one way of doing it... seems that some of the regression perks have been nerfed (Ruin to be exact)

And the rest of them either a build up to decent regression or so low that it doesn't even matter

  • There are problems when this is talked about specifics... like for a certain group of players

Plus if they left the actual Prestiging to be free (cause it's forced now anyways) it would have been better

All's I can say is to at least save 250,000 BP as a last resort... but yea there are problems with Presiging with how the game is right now

  • Maybe it's the combined changes that happened... either that or Survivors aren't used to playing against a Pig that doesn't Tunnel (A bit of sarcasm)

You mean all of the other regression perks that got nerfed? Literally close to all of them

    Overcharge was buffed...

But again they should have buffed base Gen regression... instead of adding 10 charges to Gens

I agree with you on one hand but on the other I don't see Survivors wanting the change to last any longer then it needs to

Yes, cause that 2% extra they added to that 10 seconds, SOOOO game changing, about 0.2 seconds of a game changer

Also add in regression perks and yea... and pressure

I use 3 slow downs usually at least and one aura reading perk. I do sometimes meme builds but they are for fun not for winning even I do usually win still.

    To each there own
