Oh thats awesome, I'm excited, although if I was to make a chapter of Pinebrook for DBD, the survivor would be James Linderton, he has yet to make an appearance in the Prologue, but James is the main protagonist of Pinebrook, in a way he is the only character that resembles me In real life. Now you can do Elliot and I'll be fine with that, I'd love to see what you can make of it. You do you, is what I'm trying to say. Kinda spoilerish, but James Linderton will appear in the next few pages and you'll get an idea of his character
Oh alright then. Should I hold off until James has been introduced?

What is wrong with this forum?
Why did the random comments from people barely involved in this whole thing get more upvotes than the person being interviewed?
You came here for the interview, right?
Honestly it's not like I really care about upvotes all that much, but sill, thank you for them.

Hey @Dabihwow, I got a bit of a surprise for you. I'm working on a little something...
NEW CHAPTER: WHISPERING PINES
New Killer: The Smelter
New Survivor: Elliot Ford
New Map: Pinebrook
-
Need I even say?
-
Why would anyone ever ask this.
-
As unlikely as it is that we'd get two killers, it'd be so ######### sick we did.
-
I'd probably switch it to another tracking perk like Whispers or Thrilling Tremors.

Same, atleast give us Ethan as a survivor or as a skin for the new survivor. Thus Jack Baker is the most human killer yet scary because he is human, because lets admit what is worse. Getting chased by a zombie or getting chased by a human like Jack Baker.
"Do I have your attention, boy? You are about to see something wonderful."
Same. I know many would disagree, but I personally found being chased by Jack to be scarier than being chased by a Tyrant.
"Lets finish this - you and I." - Jack Baker

They really just all suck.

36. We are gonna wrap this up but final question. Do you believe DBD is heading in the right direction?
Yes and no.
While I believe the balance of the game is slowly starting to head in the right direction, dbd is still littered with many problems.
I feel like the biggest issue in the game right now, is just that the devs don't care as much as they used to. Since dbd is the titan of the entire genre, the devs know they can just sit on it without putting much effort.
Aside from that, I'd say Dead By Daylight more or less is heading in the right direction.

I don't disagree with what you're saying I do think Nemesis will come in but that's another thing I'm scared about hi coming in, you mentioned legacy. for that, I do agree Nemesis left a legacy however I'm scared Bhvr won't hold up to the legacy he made for himself, even in his newer appearances he doesn't "hold up to his legacy.", even bigger of a legacy than PH, but then again he's outclassed by Myers and Leatherface, I'm scared they are gonna have him strong for a while then nerf him, leaving both DbD players, and RE fans disappointed.
But if with Re chapter is going to happen, and I've said this a billion times IT should be both fans of the old and New. Hell, they could add two killers, RE is that damn big. In a way, I only played RE 7 and I would kinda feel robbed if they add the RE chapter, and having nothing to do with 7, and I'm not talking about Jack being the Killer, no I'm talking about not having a mere mention of RE 7 with the RE chapter, no cosmetics, no charms, nothing. To describe how it would feel, it would feel like a middle finger for me not being born during the time of the classics, or even playing the remakes, or for just playing a specific RE game that I enjoy over the others, I actually talked to some very RE fans and not name shaming but they there off the ######### handle at me for not playing the classics or even the Remakes due to budget reasons, I told them I played RE 7 and... let's just say a lot of drama.
I just wanted a license that included a game that I've played and enjoyed to be added in DBD for a long time. I just want one, just one chapter that features a game or franchise I love and enjoy have some inclusion in another Game I love
Very true. I would also feel robbed if 7 doesn't get any recognition or love with this chapter.
It's how I was even introduced to Resident Evil in the first place. I saw 7 in the Xbox Store, and because I was looking for a horror game to play, and because I heard good things about it, I gave it a try. And boy was it a ######### ride. I likely would not have gotten into the other RE games if I hadn't played it.
This is why I think it'd be for the best if we got something from RE7 in the game, whether it be Ethan, Jack, The Baker Estate, I don't care, I just want to the game I love in the franchise I adore be properly represented.

I just want to say this before writing out my full comment. This chapter is truly a dream come true for me, out of my top 4, this was number one. I couldn't be happier that it's happening and, to me, it doesn't truly matter who we ultimately get. I'll be thrilled with whomever or whatever we get. :) Now, with that said, I do have my preferences on who I'd want to see and how they could ultimately get the absolute most out of this chapter.
When it comes to survivors, I do think with such a juggernaut of a IP such as Resident Evil is, I do personally agree with a lot of people have been saying, I think we will be getting 2 survivors this time around. Once again, I do agree with what others have been saying as well, I think they'll be pulling from, at least, the first three originals(or there remakes) for the content of this chapter. So, that said, I think they're going to go with the two most popular characters of the franchise which, at least. from what I've seen from polls, videos and just general opinions and statements, they might be grabbing Jill and Leon for the survivors. Leon is undeniably a fan favorite and for quite a few, the face of the RE franchise and, of course, Jill is a OG and has a immense amount of love and respect in the franchise from fans, plus, I have a little tinfoil hat theory why I think it might be her that I'll get to in just a bit. Of course, MCote did have that quote from Claire but, the more I think about it, I think it was just a cheeky reference that he made because it's very specifically from Code Veronica and I just don't see them touching upon Code Veronica in this chapter.
For killers on the other hand, boy, where do I even begin. For starters, let's get the big one(quite literally) out of the way first, who, yes, is my preferred and most wanted pick for the killer, Nemesis. Nemesis is arguably one of, if not, the MOST iconic villain from the RE franchise that they could pick. He makes a lot of sense gameplay wise with a lot to pick from when it comes to natural abilities. He has tentacles, can sprint, can leap, breaks everything with ease, has a viral injection and, of course, has his famous weaponry that could or could not be apart of his power. Maybe as a one time use ordeal, not sure but, I've seen some people saying he doesn't make sense story/lore wise and well, I disagree. We've seen BHVR take killers from iconic franchises before and mold both their own lore and the franchises lore to fit into DBD. Both ST and Silent Hill are the prime and top examples so they could very easily say that, when the Entity takes Nemesis, she "reprograms" him to not just hunt for S.T.A.R.S members but everyone he gets his sights onto. Plus, even if they do stick with S.T.A.R.S angle, he had zero problems in the game with killing anyone or anything that got in his way of completing his mission so, he'd likely just do the same in the Entity's realm. I'll quickly go over Mr. X, I could also very likely see him because he's right behind Nemesis in terms of popularity and could even follow the same story structure as Nemesis could. He just sadly doesn't have anywhere near the toybox Nemey does when it comes to power potential. His main thing is... he's durable and breaks things easily. Like I said though, I could totally see him joining on just popularity alone.
One last thing I'll quickly touch upon is Jack Baker for the killers. I loved Jack in RE7, he was a very fun character and tragic at the same time. Plus, he could also have some fun and unique power abilities as well coming from possibly using the molded in some way but, I'm sorry, I just personally can't see them adding Jack. Now, don't get me wrong, he's pretty iconic in his own right but he just simply isn't as popular as the likes of Nemesis or Mr. X and, ultimately, I just feel like BHVR is going to want to honor and pull from the roots and origins of the franchise as much as they possibly can. Plus, looking at it from a business perspective, both Capcom and BHVR, they probably want this DLC to sell as much as possible and it will no matter but, still, I know some would buy this DLC if they see Nemesis or Mr. X alone but, sadly, I've seen quite a few people say they wouldn't if they saw Jack Baker or any newer content from the recent RE games simply because, well, they're not from the old games. I know that, apparently, RE7 is the most sold in the franchise but, for some, popularity will NEVER beat legacy. However, if the internet has taught me anything, we're honestly the vocal minority then the silent majority. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just hope a few.... individuals, don't see this section of my post! xD Cough cough @ClamorVentus, @Dabihwow and @QwQw cough! lol
Maps, well, I gotta just kinda agree with what everyone has been saying. I think they'll probably pull from either RE1 or RE2 for this one. The four big options being the Spencer Mansion, The Arklay Mountains, The Raccoon City Police Department or even The Raccoon City streets or sewers. They both seem like both the most likely options and the most wanted options from both fanbases.
Sorry for the essay, I've been wanting and waiting for this chapter since I started playing DBD and I've saved up a LOT to say about it like I said, ultimately, I'm just thrilled it's now a reality and I'll be happy with whatever they bring about in this chapter. If I had my say though, my survivor picks would be Leon and Jill and Nemesis as the killer with the map being well any of the four major picks.
I'm sick of arguing with people about why I don't personally think Nemesis fits in dbd, so I'll just say this. If you want Nemesis. You want Nemesis. I'll be happy for you if he comes in the game, but I can't bring myself to get all that excited over his inclusion.
As for what you said about RE7, it's mostly likely true. Although Jack would suit dbd far more than Nemesis would (In My Opinion) and is a fantastic character, I doubt he'll actually be the killer picked for this chapter. But who knows, maybe Behavior will surprise me. I won't entire lose hope though, because as Jack says...

35. There has been complaints the survivor gameplay has gotten stale. There's been proposed ideas new items, new objectives. Do you believe survivor has gotten boring? And if so how would you improve it?
Yes, I believe survivor is getting boring. Hell not just survivor, killer as well.
The devs need to add a new game mode.
We've been singing this same damn song since 2016, I think it's about time we got something new that would completely break apart normal gameplay.
For this said "New Game Mode", well there have been hundreds of ideas thrown around by the community. 2 Killers Vs 8 Survivors, Killer vs Killer, a more stealth based game mode. There are so many different ideas the devs could pick from.

I don't plan to, but they have to make amends for no new god damn map! I think its fair we get two!
I mean, maybe since RE is such a big license, and the fact they've been lacking on giving us new maps means they might go above and beyond for this chapter. Honestly though, if Behavior does go hard with this chapter, I hope they gives us two killers instead of two maps.

"You think you got what it takes to join the family? Prove it." - Jack Baker
-
Killer: Jack Baker (Jack fits the atmosphere of dbd very well, and I just love his character. If I had to pick someone else, it'd be Birkin)
Survivors: Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (RE2 is my favorite RE game behind 7, so of course I'd want this dynamic duo, I'd also like legendary skins for Chris, Jill, Annette, Ada, Ethan and other RE characters)
Map: Raccoon City Police Department (As I said before, RE2 is my second favorite RE game, and The Police Station is just such a cool and iconic location)

I believe Freddy would want to escape, because he is pretty much a god of the Dream World and I doubt he enjoys being forced to do the Entity's bidding.
I doubt Freddy would "team up" with the survivors, but he does seem like the type that would dislike The Entity because it tampered with his powers.

34. Are any other killers in need a nerf or something to make them more enjoyable for survivors?
Yes and no. I don't think any killers need a nerf, except maybe Spirit, but there are some that I'd make more enjoyable.
Freddy - In his current form he isn't fun for anyone. I'd try to make his power more skillful in some way.
Twins - I kinda get what the devs were going for when they nerfed Twins, but they went about it completely wrong. They should buff Charlotte and make her more appealing to play if they want to discourage slugging with them.

Jack bakers got a lot of character but he's wasted on dbd since there's no real dialog interaction. Nemsis or mr x fill a new slot as these massive daunting killers that dbd just doesn't have. Design wise they would likely be tricky but someone like jack feels kind of dull since he's likely just gonna be a more charismatic bubba.
If anything Nemesis and Mr. X are dull because they have no personality, not Jack.
Now, if Jack does get in the game, I will be very mad if he doesn't talk, since it's such a big part of his charm. Honestly though, since Trickster talks, I believe if Jack gets in the game he probably will too to some degree.

Trapper, Wraith, maybe Billy, Bubba, Deathslinger, Blight, and Twins are all killers I could see wanting to escape The Entity.

33. You said above Spirit is unfun to play against and many also say OP. What could be done to make Spirit more fair and enjoyable to play against?
Many find her unfun because of her lack of counterplay.
There was a bug a little while back that allowed survivors to hear Spirit's footsteps while she was phasing. I would just add that back into the game as a feature. This way Spirit is still strong, but now has some counterplay for survivors to use.

32. What other killers can use an add-on base? As we know Wraith got Windstorm base and Clown yellow cork base. And were received to positive reviews.
Legion - Cold Dirt, Joey's Mixtape. Stolen Sketch Book.
Trapper - Stitched Bag, Tar Bottle, Logwood Dye, Trapper Bag, Trapper Sack.
Trickster - Trick Blades.
Some of these add-on's numbers can be tweaked, but their effects should be made basekit.
-
I enjoy their playstyle, but they're just so ######### laggy on console.

31. What are these core issues? And do you believe a proposed solution of making perks base would help with this?
These core issues include things like, genrushing, camping, and tunneling.
While making some perks basekit could help, I also believe that some of these issues should be addressed in a different manner.
For example, it is commonly known that gens simply go by too fast. A solution I see for this is to add another objective for survivors to do. Maybe something along the lines of finding fuses for the exit gates. Something that's fun for survivors to do, while also slowing down the overall speed of trials.
After we do that, hopefully killers will feel the need to camp and tunnel less. Obviously though, there will still be some that do, so, we can add counter measures for that. Like some form of, Ds, Bt, or Kindred being basekit.
-

30. At the moment it seems we'll get a diversity in perks if Lucky Break and Open Handed remain the same. But the majority of perks are still underwhelming. Is there a certain group of perks you believe should get changed first? And should we nerfing strong perks before buffing weak ones?
This is deceptively a very hard hitting question to answer.
Because Behavior has to decide whether to nerf the strong perks down to the level of the weaker perks we have now, or buff the weaker perks up to the level of the strong perks we have now.
Many perks like Ds, Bt, Pop, Ruin, and Undying, all act as band aid perks for core issues of the game. I believe it would be for the best if Behavior addressed these issues, and then nerfed all current strong meta perks down to a more reasonable level. This, in my opinion, would promote more skillful and fun gameplay for both sides.

29. Did All Kill give us worthwhile perks to run or more disappointment?
For the most part, yes.
Starstruck is pretty good, it almost entirely destroys body-blocking, and can even be used after you're done carrying someone.
Hex: Crowd Control, similar to Starstruck, is pretty good. It makes looping incredibly difficult.
No way Out is bad in my opinion. End game perks in general aren't that strong, and that includes this one.
Fast Track is bad. I don't see how it would be useful.
Self Preservation is bad. It's rare that it'll even activate, and it doesn't even have a strong effect.
Smash Hit I think could be good, but since pallet stuns are bugged right now, it's rare that it'll actually proc, but believe after the bug gets fixed that it will be a fine perk.
-
Very poor bait.

We also just had a K pop killer lol. But I guess putting one of the most iconic characters out of one of the biggest horror game series would be out of the question.
Trickster is character with an actual story, emotions, and consciousness. Just because he wears bright clothes and is a singer doesn't mean he can't work in the game. Nemesis does not work in dbd because he has no agenda. He himself is not a person, he is a tool designed and crafted by Umbrella to do their bidding. Not to mention Nemesis is also insanely tall, so even physically fitting him in the game might be out of the question.
I'm not saying we can't have an iconic character from RE in dbd, I'm saying that there are other's such as Birkin and Jack who would fit dbd's atmosphere far better than Nemesis would.

You say he doesn't fit, I say he does fit. What point do I need to address lol, the fact you don't agree with me? It's an opinion everyone is entitled to their own and can agree to disagree. Nemesis had a Gatling gun and can use that in the game and have to hit so many shots like trickster does, or I'm sure there are other ways he can be implemented into the game.
So you just don't feel like addressing any of my points as to why Nemesis doesn't fit? Alright then.
You know what? Fine. To each their own.

Huh. Aren't there clovers surrounding Spencer Mansion as well? Again, could be wrong about that, but maybe that's what the trailer is hinting at?

People who have been playing the game since the original came out, you do realise video games have been a thing for a long time now lol. Besides nemesis was in the games and in the movies so he appeals to an even bigger audience.
But RE7 is the highest selling game in the franchise, and since it acted as a soft reboot, it was very accessible for people who wanted to try out RE, meaning Jack is pretty damn iconic. As I said before, many old fans also enjoyed Jack thought he was memorable. I'm not saying Nemesis isn't iconic, I'm saying Jack is.
I also like how you're not addressing any of my points that Nemesis simply does not fit in Dead By Daylight.
