BBQ, Pop, Surveillance, Ruin/Sloppy
BBQ and Pop with your teleport is a great combo.
Surveillance and Ruin with teleport can be a good way to see which gens people are on if you do a fake teleport, sadly Ruin is a totem.
-
Aside from toxic I do it when gens are done for some good quality hook trading.
If I rush back it's because I have nothing else going on and I am close enough that I can (not due to camping) and letting them heal each other is a bad idea. I try to go after to other but if the unhooked ends up the easy down then I don't mind.

It's very simple. You spread out and genrush her. Nothing you suggested works against a sentient Spirit, let alone a Stridor Spirit. In a chase, she's dependent on the abilities of the killer, not the survivors'.
Next time you face a Spirit you can do whatever you want, as far as I'm concerned. Your suggestions are objectively effective only on low-level killers, which your comments betray as being the kind of competition you verse.
Bonus:
Fast vaulting then slow vaulting back a pallet/window(doesn't work if the spirit knows how to position, which most of the time means not phasing directly at the window).Just running after you drop a pallet, it reduces all mind games to 0(straight up abandoning the loop is a perfect way to get hit by any killer. Appalling that you would suggest something like that. Well, at least you avoided being mind gamed. Pretty good job so far). When running start walking back on your path(doesn't work if the Spirit has a brain cell).- She cannot use her power until it's 100% full so after she phases she is a 110 speed m1 killer for a bit so don't psych yourself out (typically, this works only for a very short period, because you don't have perfect information about how long she has left to recharge, because you rarely have info how long she phased to begin with. I'll let this one pass, though).
Perks: Quick and Quiet or Iron Will( Perks are counters, not counter plays, which were the subject of the debate. Q&Q could confuse any killer. It doesn't cover footsteps though, that the Spirit can still hear in phasing. Stridor trumps Iron Will).
Spread out and gen rush? Amazing advice for any general killer I'll make sure to use it when I'm facing Clown. Hey did you know another good strategy against Spirit is to hit skill checks on gens? Crazy I know.
"doesn't work if the spirit knows how to position, which most of the time means not phasing directly at the window" not all windows can be positioned into and to just run afterwards will get you hit more often than not when the Spirit realises your just running
"straight up abandoning the loop is a perfect way to get hit by any killer. Appalling that you would suggest something like that" To dismiss something like dropping a pallet and running because you will get hit shows how little experience you have. There are times where sticking to the first pallet you drop is worse than simply running, especially against Spirit.
"doesn't work if the Spirit has a brain cell" can work and when you are in a dead zone it's better than running in a straight line
"Perks are counters, not counter plays, which were the subject of the debate" perks allow for counter plays, you think just having QQ will make the Spirit recoil in horror? It opens up a counter play you wouldnt have had. Iron will works wonders for those without Stridor but I agree it's not a hard counter
Why not spend this time to give advice for how to counter Spirit? Maybe you can tell OP a good way to go against Spirit is to power 5 gens. Maybe tell him to heal survivors if given a safe opportunity if you really want to give him the expert anti Spirit tips.

None of these are counterplays against a sentient player. Ironically, you're the only one who comes across as inexperienced.
Ah my bad next time I face a Spirit I'll make sure to read your tips. Oh wait you didn't say anything other than criticize, crazy how someone as "inexperienced" as me contributed to this thread more than you.

I agree with your assessment of Nurse if it was pre nerf. But current Nurse is not that good, I hear a lot about the legendary 10k hour Nurse that can 360 no scope you across the map with her pinkie finger and you won't be able to do anything about it. But I have never personally seen that.
As such I believe Freddy should be in the top 3, not Nurse.

benefits? perks? seriously?
Why can't I use Kindred to see the killers and every survivors location, Borrowed Time to rush in and unhook the survivor without much thought, run away and escape with Iron Will and use Spine Chill to nulify stealth while I Self Care to heal and Small Game to remove all totems regardless of how well they hide. Don't worry if I fail to heal I can always use Unbreakable or Decisive Strike to get a second chance.
That's you.

because toxic swf f around some noob killers?
Because survivors are given enough things to work with that it's not fun to play as killer and the queue time is getting survivor sided as a result, yet you seem to be annoyed that you can't use every single benefit.
-
Tank with Borrowed Time
Dodge with Dead Hard
"Well shi- " when I got nothing to work with

run kindred because solo queue
run iron will because nurse and spirit
run spinechill because spirit
run ds because tunellers
run unbreakable because sluggers
run bt because campers
run small game because noed
oh, you can't run all of them? so stop complaining you stupid survivor, just die and go for your 15 min queue look for another lobby.
Ever wonder why those queues are 15 minutes? To avoid the wait just switch to killer our wait times are pretty short

can you tell me what you do to counter her? Because I have a lot of trouble personally, and it might have come out in my response(and I agree with you NOED is so annoying rn lol)
- Fast vaulting then slow vaulting back a pallet/window
- Just running after you drop a pallet, it reduces all mind games to 0
- When running start walking back on your path
- She cannot use her power until it's 100% full so after she phases she is a 110 speed m1 killer for a bit so don't psych yourself out
- Perks: Quick and Quiet or Iron Will
Are some off the top of my head, but don't misunderstand it's not like Spirit is an easy killer to go against she is the mind game killer and to do well against a good Spirit requires you to mind game her more than she can.
-
Your too late buddy, the month where survivors cried about Spirit is over. It's all about that gosh darn NOED now.
And there is counter play to Spirit, your just too inexperienced at it.
-
It makes everyone on the map (outside of your tr) hear the wooshing sound.
It works well with Ruin+Surveillance
-
I love him, one of my top favorite killers based on fun factor. He is definitely fun IF you can hit your shots. If your bad as fps games it will be painful to learn. He is a 110 killer with no movement powers so your shots need to be on point and your chases quick.
If your bad at shots then Clown would be a more viable killer with his 115 speed.
-
4 injured with thana is 16% slowdown
6 hooks with DL is 18% slowdown
Gen repair is 80 seconds which means it takes 107.2 seconds with thana+DL
Healing by default takes 16 seconds which means it takes 21.44 seconds with thana+DL
Someone who uses DL can you tell me if the effect still works when the obsession is dead?
-
It's not bannable and should never be bannable. But I definitely think it's toxic, the survivor being face camped will spend the next 2 min bored and end with 3k bloodpoints and a depip.
-
It could be fun but I definitely think any semblance of horror remaining will be gone with a proximity chat
-
BBQ and Chilli. That 2x BP gain is amazing.
-
We can argue about who is best girl, but at least we can all agree Nea is worst girl. Right?
-
Rarely. Only 2 times do I slug.
- If the match was particularly intense and my competitive spirit is on full blast
- If the survivor(s) have been toxic and I want them to lose
-
The fact that GF can teabag back is the ultimate counter move and truely what makes him balanced.

Actually hitting a hooked survivor is to stop the screams.
Hahaha yea, I'm sure most killers that hit a survivor after a hook totally do it because they want to stop the scream.
-
You won and you need to make sure they know you won. Killers do something similar when they hit hooked survivors.
-
I just just say gg back.
It's when they add the ez or something else that things get spicy. A good go to comeback of mine is to point out that I earned more BP than them. As killer that usually is the case and it gets them to start rambling

True, what disadvantage of NOED is unhealthy? I need to add it so people get less confused 🙄
You seem to be misunderstanding something. I'm here to point out that it's not noed that's the problem. Your points are that camping is bad and swf have an unfair advantage, which I agree with, but then try to push the blame onto noed, which I do not agree with. Then try to say noed needs a change wink wink nudge nudge but you totally don't mean a nerf. How dare people assume that. Wanna see why I have a problem with this? Watch.
Hey guys I think monitor and abuse needs a change. You see it gives an unfair advantage to swf since they can notify the others making your lower tr useless thereby punishing solos and it makes camping easier since with a lower tr (especially with 24m) you can hide better. Guys doesn't it need a change?

You act like a want to nerf NOED. Nowhere did I state that was my intention.
Ah yes, my bad. I had falsely assumed this was a nerf noed thread considering how your 2 points are about noed giving "unfair" advantages. Now that I look you clearly want it to be buffed how could I be so blind.
Look you can say that you technically want it changed and technically you didn't say nerf but when your 2 points are about it giving an unfair advantage and how we should change these advantages everyone will connect the dots.
-
- To say swf have an unfair advantage and therefore the perk needs a nerf is faulty logic. Swf have an unfair advantage in general. For example why not talk about how M&A needs a nerf since swf can tell each other when the killer is coming negating the lower tr compared to solo who are unable?
- Camping itself is the problem as it rewards killers with an easy kill or a trade, to blame noed for the faults of camping is wrong. And to say it helps camping is also wrong since tons of other perks can also help with camping much better than noed, as noed only works end game
You just pointed out that swf and camping are problematic (which I agree with) and then try to pass the blame onto noed (which I do not agree with)

Why do you give a f if it is a bully fest or not? You want to practice the Nurse, so just dont care if you win or loose. Play your game, learn the blinks and expect that you will loose.
On top of that, the best way to practice is to verse people who know how to play against Nurse. Getting stomped as a Nurse beginner is totally normal.
Because no one likes to start up a game and go "Oh boy! I can't wait to see how I get my butt kicked today!"
I understand where OP is coming from. You want to learn new killers because they seem fun but some have a large enough skill curve that starting out will have you get destroyed, especially if you get to high ranks with a different killer. I had a similar experience trying to learn Huntress when I got to red ranks as Ghostface. After getting destroyed a couple times i ended up waiting for rank reset before doing anything.

It only increases the vertical FOV, you can only see more from the top and bottom of the screen. You can't see more from the sides. Which is what's important really.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234708#Comment_1234708
Exploit? It's literally just changing your resolution.
I don't need to see the pictures, I also play with stretched res. Yes, it does give a bit of an advantage on certain loops but it's really not that big of a deal. You can run the killer around just as well with the regular res.
And seriously, where do you draw the line with this? Increasing your brightness and sharpness through Nvidia Freestyle or Reshade also give you an advantage, should those not be allowed as well then?
Vertical FoV can be just as important, you can run loops with a level of safety that otherwise you never could. It's not just loops too, you can see the killer coming at you from a larger distance while he can't, giving you more time to prepare. Do you not believe that extra 5-10 seconds where you see the killers location but he doesn't see yours is not a huge advantage?
Of course since you use it you will defend it, I'm not expecting you to change your mind, I'm explaining why it's unfair.
Personally I doubt it will ever be a bannable offense but I can definitely see how it's unfair.
-
Thanataphobia, Monitor and Abuse, Discordance, BBQ and Chilli is my bread and butter build.
M&A works well giving you a smaller tr to sneak up but a larger tr after you hit someone to track others via FF.
Discordance is nice because it prevents people rushing a gen but also if you find one of them chances are the second is nearby making for easy FF stabs.
-
It's not cheating and a viable strategy. In general camping is when you are close enough to the hooked that you can instantly run over and prevent a rescue or down the rescuer. So if you were close enough that you could rush over to stop a unhook then yes you were camping, but you won't get banned or anything over it.
But it's not well liked for a couple reasons.
- The hooked survivor can't play the game and after 2 min of boredom will most likely lose the match with 3k bloodpoints and a depip
- The other survivors can't go for any saves without a good chance of them getting hooked.
- It's one of the best ways to make the match only 3 survivors at the cost of 1-2 gens which for any experienced killer is an ez win.
- It ruins the 'fun' of the game, no chases, no hunting, no pvp of any kind. Just a walking simulator.
-
I understand (and agree) about where your coming from and I don't think anyone means increase repair time from 80 to 100 sec when they talk about slowing gens.
Its just disheartening to hear a gen pop before you can down (or sometimes even find) 1 survivor.
-
Killers objective is to sacrifice survivors, not kill them. The game punishes you if you mori survivors compared to hooking them. An easy way for you to understand it would be like me saying "The objective of survivors is to escape not do gens."
Also personal experience while interesting is not a good argument I had 2 matches today where people escaped via hatch mid game.
Both keys and mori can help end the game quickly, both can be used mid game and both need some effort put in to work and when you look at overall matches both are used fairly infrequently.
-
Ghostface or Freddy if I want to feel like I'm in control, Deathslinger if I want to have fun and not care about winning.
-
100 survivors, 25 killers, battle royal.
Will the killers be capable of sacrificing all survivors or will the survivors power 125 gens first? How exciting.
-
- If there is a wall or obstacle they can't flashlight through turn around and look at that while picking up the survivor
- Walk up to the survivor, wait a second and then turn around 180 and pick up the survivor
-
M&A, Thanataphobia, BBQ, Nurses
Although I often switch Nurses with other things.
-
What? Killers do well if survivors don't do their objective? Want to tell others or keep this a secret between us?
The video was pretty eye opening, it makes me never want to give Deathslinger up.
-
Stridor, Sloppy, Nurses and BBQ
Gearhead seems like it will be useful on Spirit.
-
Depends on what you think playing means. If you think dbd is a skill check simulator then yes it's kinda annoying. Personally I think chases are the most enjoyable part which is why I don't stealth much.
I don't agree with staying on the hook being bad but I can see why slugging should stop. Thing is this is what happens when games go so fast, it's more beneficial to leave them slugged and have another survivor run over to heal than take the extra time to pick up and hook them.
-
It's lag.
For a grab to register both clients need to give the ok. This means in the split second that both the killer grabs on their client and survivor let's go on their client the server sides with the survivor.
-
They most likely deemed it too powerful in the hands of high mobility killers.
- Billy could slug a survivor (hitting twice) and then go gen hopping for the next 45 seconds.
- Freddy can instantly teleport to the gens being worked on.
- Ect
But I do admit it's kind of funny how people were asking for deathslinger buffs and, ignoring that, they decided to nerf one of his perks. Stay classy devs.

He really could need a buff but he is not ,,unplayable" on Console just because of the Controller. For me i have better aiming with a controller than with a mouse. It really depends on the person.
Also i do pretty well with him so far. Mostly 3-4 kills on PS4 in redranks.
I play on the switch and when I aim I get frame drops which alongside the harpoons hitbox makes thing somewhat diffficult.
-
A lot of people want Legion to be changed but it's been such a messy situation that I feel like the devs just want it to be over with.
-
Buff. He is a 110 killer with no movement powers and no way to project any pressure across the map, his harpoon range isnt even 20m.
He is decent in chases but that's only if you are on PC and only if you have a high enough skill. If you are on console or God forbid the Nintendo Switch he is unplayable.
- Make him 115 speed
- Have it so when you break the chain on a survivor that already has deep wounds their timer goes down by half (so 2 shots on a deep wounds survivor will down them)
- Include some Auto aim compensation for console players
-
I don't use Ruin anymore aside from the Surveillance/Ruin meme build. It's a late game perk that never makes it to late game.
-
He is really fun to play of the survivors are bad but if they are decent at gens and know how to loop huntress then your gonna have a bad time.
-
OP I think you forgot to include the percentage of 4k's that Clown gets. Hahaha.
Joking aside, I always like reading this type of thing. Thanks.
-
Any cornfield maps.
-
Does this mean we should have the lower tier killers buffed so they are viable? No let's nerf the over achievers.
