IT can be about latency, on her screen she was probably well away from the locker before you even got to it.
Your right, it is 100% latency. The thing is the server sides with the survivor in latency issues regarding grabs. Grabs require both clients to acknowledge the grab (locker grabs, gen grabs, ect) but if the survivor client doesn't recognize the grab while the killer client does then the server is biased towards the survivor and decides there was no grab.
So in a way everyone in this thread is correct.
Why is it a thing? I'm guessing so survivors don't feel cheated. They let go of the gen, they are running away then suddenly are teleported onto the killers shoulders. Of course this comes with the issue that killers feel cheated.
-
I use it in 2 ways, neither as zoning tools.
- Placing in hard to see locations such as by windows, tall grass, on corn, ect
- Using while a survivor is looping me
First method gets me random torments and general location of survivors sometimes. Second one is a good way to make chases/loops easier.
-
Not low rank but I can remember my time down there. If you did that I would bring you to hatch/exit but I would appreciate the thought and I wouldn't have any bad feelings, it would help remind me that people are here to have fun which can be hard if your consistently getting paired with high ranks.
-
I have mixed feelings. He is a fun killer but it takes too long to learn him, if your not already amazing at fps, and becoming an experienced Deathslinger requires more time than the average killer and only results in an above average killer at best. If you want good return on investment he is one of the worst to pick.
-
Oni would win. There would be enough blood to keep him in his super mode for the entire royal.

That's actually false. Trapper is the most popular character to play but kill rate wise the last stats they released freddy is actually the strongest killer based on the stats we have.
which can be found here. Again im not saying trapper is weak im simply making an observation into how come they said it was be super unfair for him to have what would make him a very good killer but pyramid can have all that makes him insanely strong.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P7WLE5CLHM0J/untitled.png
That was during the rift where Trapper was a requirement, I'm not saying he isn't popular (especially since he is a non dlc killer) but I am saying his popularity at that time was inflated.
That being said his kill count is still among the higher end so despite his power being a lot simpler it's still effective.
-
It doesn't bother me. For me the killer equivalent of teabag (aside from GF) is when they hit you after a hook.
-
BBQ for every killer
Sloppy+Nurse's for all stealth killers
Dead Hard+Spine Chill for all survivors
-
I like DH, its is on command and doesn't require you to change your play style. SB is definitely good but there are moments where the killer finds me and I'm exhausted because I just can't be asked to walk all the time.
-
I get where you are coming from and had it been a couple months ago I would agree 100%, but the fact that Doctor was reworked into someone viable (like you pointed out) shows they are looking into the lower ranked killers, it's just slow because they are prioritizing new killers and bugs. After the doc rework I'm willing to give them some slack and time.
I'm just super curious as to how they will rework the powderkeg that is Legion.
-
I try to cleanse totems if possible although I definitely am guilty of running by them in favor of gens.
-
It's a good way to make the killer feel like they are playing against humans and not bots and Imo they put it in without thinking about it too hard.
They prevent seeing the killer for an air of mystery and so you don't put in perks to counter (ie: Iron Will for Spirit, Calm Spirit for Doctor, Spine Chill for Ghostface, ect) but for survivors I just don't think the devs thought about it that much.
-
If you hate him for his low TR then just wait until I tell you about Ghostface.

Spirit is pretty similar to Samara or whatever her name was. I would love to see her in the game too but what could she do? She pretty much kills you instantly with a fear overdose rather than smack you twice, somehow lift your fat David/Jane ass and put you on the hook.
Its one of the reasons I like Spirit as for her powers it could be:
- Gen teleportation, she crawls out of the gens when teleporting to them.
- She curses a survivor and they get injured in x seconds unless they get within 4m of another survivor where the curse passes onto them, like a game of hot potato
- A passive effect where those in her TR see jumpscares or an illusion of her doing something for example they could see her off in the distance chasing a survivor and downing them or they see an illusion of her mori'ing a survivor right next to them.
-
Dead Hard because it's on command.
-
Most people don't care and I'm part of that group. The only horror addition I would be excited about is The Ring.
That being said it, if Pennywise was in I would love it if he has a lunge similar to Demo but instead of jumping he speed walks/shuffles towards you.
-
I would be disappointed if the Trapper doesn't have a Fred skin.
-
Have Legion's mend time increase everytime he inflicts it.
-
Originally people hated "Forever Freddy" builds which involves slowing the game down to a crawl and while it was nerfed/fixed there are people that hold some lingering resentment.
These days the most common complaint about Freddy is how strong he is with little skill required. Killers like Spirit, Nurse and Huntress are very good but they require some commitment to learn, whereas you can get to a somewhat decent level after 3-5 games as Freddy.
-
Never watched his movies so I would just have a 'meh' reaction, I would be more focused on the perks he brings as well as his powers.
-
If you hate getting hit due to the low TR then you are going to freak out when I tell you about Ghostface.
-
It's ok on some killers, I always wanted sacrificed survivors to count but like that's ever going to happen.
-
I think she is good but no where near the top rank anymore. I rarely see Nurse these days but from the ones I do see they aren't anymore overbearing than Spirit, Freddy, Billy, ect. In fact post nerf I have faced off against more Spirits that deal with chases better than Nurse.
Maybe it's that I don't see many Nurse's so the chance of seeing an OP Spirit ect are higher since the chances of seeing a Spirit in general is higher and since I base my killer tiers off of experience not theory I cannot place Nurse as top rank anymore even if there is a 10k hour Nurse that can 360 no scope me across the map lurking somewhere.
-
Nah it's just the generic murder ghost of vengeance that dies a horrific death and haunts people afterwards archetype.
-
The Deathslinger has a fair amount of control over how he reels you in and it's not just a straight line. Often when you slide off something it's because the Deathslinger is guiding you off of it.
When you enter his TR there is a familiar sound cue that plays, if your too used to hearing the generic TR and can't be bothered to learn a new TR that's on you. A little secret is that the devs want custom TR/chase for every killer so if your annoyed now you are gonna hate DbD later.
Turn off aura while aiming is a useless "fix" as quick scoping makes it useless and the only aura perk that a 18m shot range reliably works with is Nurse's Calling, which they stand still during. Find the aura out of scope, aim at where the aura was and boom you got em.
This entire thread makes it seem like your salty a Deathslinger nailed you while you were busy not paying attention and then you lost after he shot you mid heal.
-
BBQ is the best general perk, not only is the aura effect great but the BP boost is insane.
Nurses Calling is good when combined with Sloppy Butcher and a stealth killer. My personal favorites are GF, Spirit and Deathslinger.
For survivors I use Bond all the time as it gives a great amount of info such as who is getting chases, who can heal you or who you can heal
I never use Kindred but I appreciate when another survivor has it
-
You mind game the Spirit. Granted she has the advantage but delaying her even a bit is good. As long as you don't get downed in 5 seconds with her m1 into phase combo your good and should rely on your team mates to pump out gens.
Dead Hard is very effective against her. It's almost guaranteed that if a Spirit exits phase and sees you near she will lunge giving you an easy dead hard. She then temporarily turns into a 110 m1 killer.
-
It's latency. For it to work it requires the clients on both sides to acknowledge the grab. So even though you grab the survivor on your end the lag is large enough that the survivor can jump off the gen on their end and therefore the system does that weird non-grab animation.
-
Pig - BBQ, Monitor and Abuse, Sloppy Butcher, and Nurses Calling
Leatherface - BBQ, Insidious, Agitation, Iron Grasp
My go to survivor build is Dead Hard, Bond, Spine Chill and Iron Will
-
They make a big difference. For example neon pink are a lot easier to see/chase in corn and it's impossible to hide in Yamaoka Estate bamboo when your bright yellow.
-
I would like a training ground and individual ranks for killers would be nice. But killer ranks should scale, for example if your a rank 1 Oni your Trapper, who you never play, should be rank 10, not 20.
-
More Quentin's because of their rarity.
Less Ash because they are ether insufferable bullies with God-level skill or complete potatoes, no in-between.
-
They are easy filler challenges that both sides can complete and I don't mind it.

Change Killer ? Change strategy ? It will be cool to understand rank you have, which build do you have and which killer do you use with that specific build. When i use Freddy (i assume you like Freddy) i never use NOED, neither MORI. To be honest, i never every use MORI and NOED. I was using that ADDON and OFFER the first 40h i was playing Killer side.
I'm explaining why people use NOED, there isn't much you can do if 2-3 survivors spawn on a gen and you pick the wrong one to patrol first. Sure you can just switch to one of the top tiers but personally i see it as a problem if a killer is so invalidated at red ranks you need to stop using him. NOED punishes gen rushing causing a slowdown, ether they take the extra time to look/cleanse totems or get heavily punished for it end game, win win for killer.
I only use NOED on Huntress. I'm trying to learn her, and at red ranks that frequently means I get bullied since I got there as Freddy/Demo/GF. NOED is my consulation to at least get a kill so I'm not too sad while I learn Huntress.

"should we look into why everyone is using that perk…. no, we must nerf it soo we can find the solution!"
Exactly.
Dont worry OP when 80% of the killers start to use NOED the devs will decide it's overpreforming and nerf it.

Luck is luck I guess.
I've had instances where I spawned close to a killer lol
So why not bring along perks to lessen the effects of luck? For example a perk that allows you to get kills even if you were unlucky.
-
What can a killer do when, based on pure luck of spawn, a gen pops before he finds a single survivor?

But M&A doesnt affect the Lullaby Radious? I say, isnt Lullaby Radious = TR on Freddy?
Freddy has a tr when survivors are awake but when asleep they hear the lullaby. The lullaby is not classified as a tr and so any perk that requires a tr to work won't work on Freddy's lullaby. So your right M&A won't affect his lullaby.
-
The ring. My favorite horror and the one that I remember the most from my childhood. It's my childhood horror movie.
-
Demogorgon - Hex:Thrill of the Hunt, Hex:Devour Hope, Save the Best for Last, BBQ
Deathslinger - Monitor and Abuse, Nurse's Calling, Sloppy Butcher, BBQ
I like M&A on Deathslinger for that sweet 16m tr and since his gun has a range of 18m I can snipe careless survivors who are healing before they can hear me.
Demo games are me protecting the totems more than gens. If I can get 3 hooks and 6+ STBFL tokens is a gg.
-
How well he does depends on survivors.
Legion excels at stalling the game and survivors that let themselves get stalled (grouping up, looking for each other to heal, can't Dodge or delay FF) will lose the match. Those that can work through it have it much easier. How well Legion does is more about how skilled the survivors are rather than how skilled you are.
There was a user who did statistics on well each killer did based on his experience as a survivor and Legion had mostly 4k's and 1k's
-
Do gens.

Her Halloween blight weapon. By far one of the best Halloween cosmetics.

Bond, Spine Chill, Dead Hard, Iron will/Quick and Quiet
Bond - Great way to see which gens are being worked on, see who is in a Chase, who needs a heal, and who can heal you. It's a fantastic info perk.
Spine Chill - works well to tell you when the killer is coming to you and beats stealth. I'm not a headphone player so this helps a lot
Dead Hard - a get out of jail free card and the reason I like this over other exhaustion perks is it's on demand
Iron Will - good Spirit counter and let's you mind game better, especially in corn
Quick and Quiet - let's you mind game and escape quickly
-
I wouldn't mind slightly slower but make it harder to break free. A good tactic I use when someone thinks they can use BT to unhook their friend in front of me is follow the unhooked for 9 seconds and shoot them and wait out the rest of the time with them on my gun.
If we can increase the time it takes to struggle off in exchange for reeling them in slower then I think that's a good trade in the name of screwing over BT.

Then why prayer beads makes survivors think that she coming for them? Im lost
The wooshing sound only happens if she is phasing+near you (and if you are outside of her husk's tr) so smart survivors will start to plan how to escape when they hear the wooshing. If you are on a gen and you hear the wooshing chances are she will attack anyone near the gen.
Prayer beads makes everyone on the entire map (outside of her husk's tr) hear the wooshing when phasing. This can mess with people who have trained themselves to assume wooshing=nearby Spirit causing them to think she is near.
It's why Ruin+Surveillance is such a good combo. The first minute no one will assume you have prayer beads so if they are on a gen and hear the global wooshing they will get off the gen to hide changing the gen's aura (they are assuming wooshing=nearby Spirit) and letting you know what gens are being worked on.
-
He is good, not the best but he can do the job.
The portals work like you mentioned, one thing to note is when you exit a portal you lose your tr for 2 seconds (it's useless for the most part because he is naturally so loud but it's neat)
Shred is a great move however it does not count as a normal hit. This means perks that require a basic attack won't work with shred (such as Sloppy Butcher). This also means Save the Best for Last won't lose stocks when you shred the obsession, so you can keep 8 tokens the entire game and an 8 tokens m1 into shred is a great combo.

Originally if survivor is in your TR they cant hear wooshing sound but then when they can hear it?
When the Spirit phases she leaves behind a husk, basically a still image (copy) of herself. As long as the survivor is within the tr of your husk (24m w/o perks) they will not hear the wooshing sound, but the moment they leave the tr of the husk they will hear the wooshing soud.

wait so originally you hear that wooshing sound when in her TR?
If the survivor is in your tr they do not hear the sound. Prayer beads makes it so that no matter where you are on the map (as long as it's not in her tr) you will hear a wooshing sound when she phases.
