Don't know about balance but it would shrink the meta. By that I mean more people will be doing the same thing, more than currently. Some examples off the top of my head.
- There would be no downside to tunneling so that would be more popular
- The killers that can only do something at high ranks with addons like Wraith would be non existent.
- Gen rushing would become insane with no slowdown or tracking perks
That being said, no Spine Chill so Mikey and GF will be having a field day.
-
It's not OP but it is very useful. It doesn't break the game but the utility it provides is among the top.
-
I half agree and half disagree.
I disagree because learning to flashlight for the sake of expanding your skill set is a good idea. With the exception of the first matches where you are learning the proper area to shine at having the ability to flashlight save or blind at pallets can only be an advantage because it opens up more options.
That being said flashlights are my least favorite of the items tied with maps. I like blinding them while they are breaking a pallet and running through them but i always prefer to have a medkit, toolbox or key.
-
It's not hard to make original builds but it is hard to make original builds that are on par with the meta builds.
Your right that Alert can be useful in a match but will it be as useful as Dead Hard?
-
"Knew it."
-
Hag starts off with no pressure but can snowball very easily mid/late game. While Freddy can output a high level of pressure throughout the entire match.
Hag's skill ceiling is also higher than Freddy. At red ranks most killers know how to chase. A red rank can learn and get very good with Freddy in 5 matches while Hag killers can still be learning better trap placements 50 matches in. Since the barrier to entry is lower it's more likely to find better Freddy than Hag.
-
BT.
It works well if the killer is camping or just nearby and one of the only ways to safely save someone during end game.
SG's endurance effect is too situational and killers usually slug mid-late game which by then the average hex is destroyed so no unbreakable, it's kind of good against NOED but even then you have to hope they slug.
-
It's a good crutch perk. If you don't mind Iron Will, you don't need Stridor. But making sounds louder can help you locate people easier especially in chases when there is a lot of stuff going on.
-
It would be neat but I don't think it would do well in the sales.
-
To give an example of how good the smaller model is, as Kate I can crouch directly in front of a window and remain hidden while as a guy the top of my head is visible.
They are also better looking, except Nea and Claudette. I understand why Claudette is popular but I for the life of me don't understand Nea, maybe because her cosmetics are among the best?
-
For dbd to be a functioning game you need an imbalance of the playerbase. Ideally you want 4 survivors for every 1 killer so obviously this means you need to make the game more appealing to be a survivor.
-
Will someone somewhere find it toxic? Yes.
Will the majority of people find it toxic? No.
Toxicity is more about how you use it rather than what you use. An ebony if you use it after hook 2+ is not toxic, but tunneling a first hook can be considered toxic.
-
Something needs to be done about the beginning. Having the ability to lose a gen before you find a survivor purely on luck of spawn is insane.
But I don't think increasing gen speed is the right solution. Having survivors do nothing for longer periods of time is a bad road to go down. Some other objective would be useful. Or if gen repair starts off slow but gets faster per hook. Just ideas but a flat 80sec>90sec I'm against.
-
- It's trash compared to old Ruin
- It's one of the better hex perks
- It's synergy with Surveillance is fantastic but when the totem is broken all white auras turn red which sucks
- As a totem it sucks when it breaks early, late game perk btw.
- There are more reliable and useful perks as such I don't use it often

I've never understood this need for shirtless male characters. I mean, more power to the people who want it, but why?
Most of us are joking when we talk about shirtless characters (it's not a genuine request like the nerf threads, for example) but it's the absurdity of seeing a shirtless Myers or Clown in a supposed horror game that's amusing. Look at this thread, no one is taking it seriously.
We would joke about shirtless female characters like shirtless Kate or shirtless Pig but there are slightly different implications to that.
-
It's weird I agree, I figured they would make upgrades when PH went live but I guess not.
-
Your build is pretty good for Freddy. With his teleport Pop and BBQ work extremely well.
Legion's main bonus is his ability to injure multiple people fast.
Thanataphobia is one of the more popular perks since it gives a 4% slow down on everything for every injured survivor.
Deathbound is another good perk as when a survivor heals someone their location is revealed and they can't sense your TR for 60 sec, idealy as Legion everyone should be injured.
Discordance let's you see when multiple people are on a gen helping you injure multiple people.
BBQ is just a fantastic perk.
-
Won't be removed. At most I can see them removing the haste effect but even that I highly doubt
-
My guess is that people play a larger variety of killers than survivors. I only play Kate and sometimes Feng/David while I play 10+ killers and switch between fairly regularly.
To get the crown by escaping 2-3 times for your favorite survivors would be a lot quicker than getting a 4k for your 10+ killers each.
-
I wonder. Is it because of bad matchmaking or because there are fewer red rank killers these days playing?

only 2 female killers are below average: Pig and Plague( and if you count Legion, then 3)
I agree that gender isn't important, but as you prefer Jason to be added in this game, I prefer female killers over male killers. It's just a matter of taste.
Thats fine, taste is taste and I have no intention of criticizing that. My point is that i want killers picked based on how cool they are. Whether it's Jason or the girl from The Ring doesn't matter. What I am against is picking a killer based primarily on gender especially if it means they need to drop/delay a more iconic/cooler killer. But thats just my taste.
-
Wait I'm confused, do you want more bottom tier female killers?
Gender isn't important, what is is the quality of killers. I would be pretty upset if the devs decided to forgo Jason in favor of their OC with boobs or an obscure female horror killer
-
Kate is hot pretty while Feng cute pretty. Lisa is the best looking skin but Cheryl is mediocre so I'm not sure if that counts.
Ugly licensed is Quentin and ugly original is Nea, little goblins, the both of them.
-
People want more iconic "higher quality" killers like Jason, Candyman, Alien, The Ring, ect.
-
It's not like I'm against the idea, I wouldn't complain if they put this in but I do have 2 problems.
How long would this take? To change and bug test each killer might take some time due to their spaghetti code. It might be more efficient if they spend that time resolving the sound bugs, or on their killer reworks.
Wouldn't this be a nerf to small range killers? I understand that small range killers would have a faster lunge to compensate but long range killers like Oni wouldn't need to lunge, they could just do the faster non lunge attack and cover the same distance as Freddy who would need to lunge. It doesn't seem like a big difference but it's a difference between hitting someone at a window and barely missing them. Not to mention its easier to dead hard lunges than the quick hits.
-
I always try to run to the nearest jungle gym if possible, windows are Spirit's bane. Any place where the killer needs to vault a window or take a long way across can give you a big edge.
If she tries to mind game you try to LoS her, most of her 'mind games' require her to see you but if you hide behind a wall most will drop the act and go after you for fear of losing you.
I also run Iron Will and Dead Hard, both are really good counters to Spirit but they are just perks I like in general.
-
When you disregard the rest of the match (totems, healing others, looping the killer, ect) and try to turn it into a skill check simulator then it's genrushing.
I always viewed genrushing as the equivalent of camping a hooked survivor. Technically your completing the objective and technically it's a valid tactic but there is a reason why the other side finds it annoying.

But the speed boost exceeds Adrenaline’s by an impressive margin. If you’re not in the dying state, Hope shines brighter than Adrenaline.
I dislike adrenaline too. In fact aside from NOED I don't think there are any end game perks that warrant usage. The handicap of only using 3 perks for most of the match is not worth it.

I mean it can’t be buffed too much though. We don’t want endgame survivor perks that become so popular because of their ability, that killers just decide to not even bother once the last gen pops. The killer still needs to feel like there might be a chance.
Trust me I get it. We don't want 50 NOED level perks for survivors to pick from where endgame dbd turns into bully simulator.
But current Hope is just not worth it. You play for 95% of the match with a handicap of only 3 perks and the reward is a temporary 7% movement speed buff.
-
Underpowered and useless. End game perks need a really good effect to justify using them since because of it you play most of the game with 3 perks and a temporary speed boost of only 7% is not worth it.
-
I don't level survivors. I leveled Kate and David because they were the best looking male+female survivors and got most of the survivor perks I wanted via shrine. I'm still waiting for OoO and Inner Strength.
Any BP I get goes towards killers and leveling them is fairly easy, each one has a different play style and BBQ as well as killers naturally higher BP gain makes the grind tolerable.
-
Design of the map is creepy and great but you will spend the first 5 matches completely lost, whether you are a killer or survivor.
Killer is cool, his chase music is nice and he has cool gimmicks. Only problem is his ranged attack is clunky and hard to use, which the devs did on purpose and he is around B rank.
Survivor is a survivor. It's just a reskin so if you like Cheryl great if not then move on.
They are working on killers. They did a rework on doc giving him a massive buff and this update gave Clown a slight buff.
-
I agree that PH feels clunky to use.
I don't agree that the map is horrible design, a lot of it stems from that fact that most people still don't have a good grasp on where things are... because it's new.
-
Not a main but when I do the occasional Plague play it generally becomes one of 2 matches.
People don't cleanse and you are just an m1 killer, this is where gens pop the fastest and if the group is competent enough you lose. Best way to win here is to find the weak link, who can't loop, and kill him.
On the other hand while I rarely see people cleanse early game all it takes is 1 survivor mid game to cleanse and then like dominoes everyone starts to cleanse as no one wants to be broken in a Chase with a vile Plague. The smart ones will try to cleanse in really far away pools but if you are good with your aim you can really snowball.
-
I'm just waiting for the dumpster fire that is the graphics overhaul.

Hm, interesting, I
moriedkilled 4 Lisas today. For some reason, most of them were twitching.Nice. Maybe if I start to mori them I will see more.

He is a nice guy and the way he interacts with his chat in a friendly way makes me like him a lot but im not the only one that sees how insanely passive aggressive he gets when he starts losing, right? No one mentions it and it seems like everyone ether ignores it or accepts it and I have no idea what to make of that.

Fair point. I agree that it’s absurd to pay that much for a character that you can’t alter whatsoever. (Though I read somewhere they hope to give legendaries unique voices. But even so)
However, targeting Lisa players is just dumb when it’s not their fault.
That's a fair point too. I as a killer don't really care about what people use (unless it's Ace's yellow pajamas or Dwight's bicycle helmet which I think look stupid) and had things been different I might have even bought Lisa, this is my personal taste but she is by far the best looking female character/skin in the game.
But at the same time I don't think this "protest" is that big of a deal. It's like 10 killers max on forums saying they want to tunnel Lisa's most of which won't even go through with it because, this might just be me, I've seen like 2 Lisa survivors since the dlc dropped.
-
"Skins are just skins to me and I see no reason to treat anyone differently."
That's exactly it. Despite BHVR saying legendaries will be completely different characters she is treated as another skin, just a dime a dozen cosmetic that can't be mixed with other outfits. Not only that you need to drop $15 for the outfit in addition to $5 for the character and many (including me) think that's too far.
This is the first time I've heard about boycotting Lisa skins but I can understand the reason, it seems like a blatant and lazy cash grab. Doubt it will work.

Yeah, I'm talking about REALISTIC potential. A Nurse playing well isn't hard to come across. You're trying to compare that to a godlike Huntress that sounds more like a hacker than a pro player.
Pre nerf I would agree with you but post nerf I don't see any of those God Nurses anymore. Maybe your just getting lucky but the Nurses I face aren't any better than the Spirit's, Freddy's or Billy's of the world. When I experience a post nerf God Nurse then I will change my view but until then, you saying that Nurse is S tier because of her potential to me sounds exactly like Huntress is S tier because of her potential.

Your Huntress comparison makes no sense. Huntress's hitting cross map shots all the time isn't a thing. A Nurse blinking around loops & catching survivors off guard is literally every game as long as the person knows how to play Nurse. Despite her bugs, she still does everything she used to do. She only has an extra recharge feature that limits how quickly she can begin blinking again, but it doesn't destroy her potential. She has a lot of useless or gimmicky add-ons, but at base she does everything she needs to do. I'm not saying she isn't flawed, but her power literally alters survivor gameplay & counters a whole lot.
What are you talking about? Sure you might not see many Huntress players getting consistent cross map hatches but aren't we making tier lists based on potential. What difference does it make if the majority you see in practice are not S tier it's the potential that matters, right?
-
I use my well established killers to earn bloodpoints to get him perks, after I can make a basic build that includes tier 3 BBQ then I will switch over to PH.

It mostly depends on how well the killer can actually apply pressure mostly. This is measured through time management, map/gen pressure (good means of mobility helps this), chase potential, & how consistent they can be overall. I take into account their powers mostly, & do take add-ons & perk build synergies into account for the killers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1363912#Comment_1363912
Its based on her potential. She basically counters everything & has good mobility. Her playstyle completely alters how survivors play.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1364139#Comment_1364139
She may be buggy at times, but I do not take that into account. & Clown's buff was good for him, but nowhere near enough for him. He needs something else that at least helps him reload faster & actually make better use of his bottles in chase. And if you want to get into bugs, Clown's gas is a bit buggy & acts very inconsistently as well.
Her being based on potential is useless when no one can reach it. Let's put Huntress at S rank because based on her potential you can snipe people across maps with hatchets, surely being able to down someone across the map without them ever being in your tr is more OP than Nurse, right?
I base my tier lists on my practical experience, not theory. And while Nurse in theory is strong, in reality she is not.
-
It's difficult to navigate because it's new. Once you play it enough that you know the layout it won't be hard anymore.
-
Nurse is no longer S tier. People keep pointing to the legendary 10k hour Nurse that can destroy you in 5 seconds flat with a blindfold on and one hand eating a sandwich, but I've never seen any post nerf. Sure there are still great Nurses but I see more Billy, Spirit, Freddy players that are more oppressive than Nurse players.
I feel like she has been the staple OP killer for so long it's hard for people to think of her as anything else.
-
Ikr? It's by far the creepiest waiting for match room I've seen, devs have really out done themselves this time.
-
Looks really good, definitely one of the best looking female skins/characters. I only have 2 problems.
- Costs more than I want to spend, I'm not sure ~$20 ($5+$15) is something I want to drop on essentially a skin
- It's one of those linked sets and I cant mix outfits
-
Pig's head looks pretty nice
My favorite is Spirit's head, paired with schoolgirl outfit and Halloween Katana
Bubba is the best if you want to use the entire outfit
-
Just checked, majority of threads are about other things.
