Yea, I’m more of an introvert that rarely socializes so I’m ignorant on a lot of the different subcultures out there. I do like the goth “look” though, from what I’ve seen anyways.
oh, make no mistake, so am I.
There's no way I'd ever go to a punk show normally. Idk though, the makeup and dressing up; it's like putting on a mask and it lets me be someone I'm not for a bit.

Ima have to google them all later 😅
It can be a little hard to know when you're not in the culture.
I've done a punk look on multiple occasions, it's honestly fun.

So like, Alternative/Punk type, but less on the Punk? I can see that.
Yeah. Nea's punk, not alt.
KK is alt, not punk.
Sable is goth, not alt or punk.

I’m not good with all the different subcultures but I thought Mikaela fell under “goth”. If not, what would she be under? Hippy? Is Witchy also considered a subculture?
kk has always been like an alt girl to me.
She's not really goth

Don't care love her anyway, she pretty :)

Not really.
Sometimes The Game makes me feel like that, but most of the time I'm seeing more deadzones than pallets.

Killers should absolutely be good on every map. That’s why people gravitate towards Nurse / Blight. Even though Blight may struggle slightly on indoor maps he can easily run loops as an m1 killer since he is 115. And being up Freddy and Meyers is literally irrelevant since they are getting complete reworks soon and these current tweaks are just number changes.
Blight is not good on every map.
Actually, he struggles on the same maps Huntress does.
All this buff does is remove skillful play from her.

There have been multiple matches posted to the Forums that I've been in.

SEVEN indoor maps, not to mention Badham 1-5, Half the MacMillian maps, GoJ and Eyrie of crows ALL of which Huntress mains like Max and Coco agree are terrible for her power.
Oh no! Anyways, wanna know all the maps that Myers and Freddy are bad on? Try all of them.
Huntress is fine. She doesn't need any help. Her pick rate is high, her design is excellent and she has meaningful counterplay.
Killers do NOT need to be good on every map.

Pulsy I just can’t escape you can’t I, you about to hit 20,000 posts, joined in 2019, clearly live breathe dbd forums, probably on here reading commenting scrolling more than you are on the game itself. Constantly checking up on my posts and reading all my comments with your fingers itching to type a response. I honestly see it as a win that every discussion I create has so much interactions, just telling me I’m talking about the right and most important stuff.
Not sure if I'm supposed to be insulted or not, hard to figure out meaning from text sometimes.
Unfortunately, I do play the game more than I vibe here. I've actually slowed down both my playtime and Forum usage as of late, so I really only respond to stuff that intrigues me, in some manner.
I did notice you never actually responded to my point. You can't just say anyone who disagrees is a Survivor main, even if you had a point (which I think you do, on some level), that puts your entire argument in a bad light.

No I am totally in for the challenges that high mmr brings, that’s why I’ve been reaching out to comp players to join teams or 1v1 because a part of me wants to be humbled because every game I 4k at like 3 or 4 gens. And even in the “scrims” I’ve played in I also still 4k at 1/2/3 gens.
That does not change the fact that I do not think that combination of perks is healthy, and obviously look around, it’s so not just me who’s going on talking about this issue and for abundant reasons. I actually do NOT understand why I’m dealing with push backs on this forum? Like…? What…? I did not expect survivors to have such thick skin and audacity
See, that's the type of thing that rubs me the wrong way.
You can't just call anyone who disagrees with you a Survivor main and call it a day.
You don't ever really engage with people who make counterpoints, you only either respond to people agreeing with you or to people upset withyou.

How does this help with indoor maps?
Why does she need help on three indoor maps.
How does that possibly justify such a large buff and attention over other Killers?

Yeah, don't think she needed anything.
She was perfectly fine. She was popular, strong and well-designed.
Instead of changing Myers or Freddy, they changed her 💀

I wish i could pin this comment
Not sure why you would, it's not a very good argument.
They really just said, "I play at high MMR and since you peasants don't, you wouldn't get it."
-
@Wearevenom1484 said:
For those saying they “dont see it often”, it indicates where you are on the MMR scale imo. Since the changes, these 2 perks are run by at least 1, if not 2 survivors every match I play.
“Its not really and issue”, you don’t understand the value of delaying the first chase an extra 20+ seconds. The first chase has massive impact on how the remainder of the game goes and extending it into a minute, or minutes because of ftp + buckle up puts the match squarely in survivors hands.
You also now have to either tunnel out the survivor running it or risk having another chase extending later in the match. If 2 are running it, that duo can keep you busy long enough for the other 2 to finish 1-2 gens more, basically GG.
Just cause your playing random pub scrubs walking around the edges of the map, scared to alert crows running ftp + BU cause they read how OP it is on Reddit doesnt mean everyone is. In this setting, of course its a non issue. In a competitive setting where its clearly at least a duo that know how to play well, the killer is in for a sweatfest or at risk of a curb stomp.
"Comp setting it's an issue"
So it's a non-issue.
-
I think I've played around 500 Killer games since it was buffed.
I've had it used less than ten times on me and of those ten times, it was meaningful twice.
It's great at stopping a tunnel out and giving that player a little more time. I don't have any real issues with it.
-
Unfortunately, yes.
-
@Krazzik said:
The issue is that all killers are 'unfun' to someone, you can't use a subjective description to decide what killers should and shouldn't exist.
They want all killers to have unique kits and play differently from each other, that means there are always going to be some killers that some people just don't like.
Also, while anti-loop killers are generally unpopular with survivors, they're needed because without any anti-loop, it's not very fun for most killer players to play against good loopers. No matter how good you are with most m1 killers, a really solid survivor is gonna waste too much of your time.
Also gotta mention how Billy was considered the most 'fun' killer to go against back when he was weaker, now that he's actually really strong, suddenly suvivors hate going against him, curious.
Two things.
Pure anti-loop Killers are bad design. Killers that have anti-loop aren't necessarily bad design.
For example, Wesker. He has anti-loop, but he is good design.
Another example, Knight. He's just anti-loop.
Billy being strong has little to do with frustration. A lot of players are playing him in an exceptionally sweaty way, some of his addons were overtuned AND most importantly, He's played A LOT.
Even someone like Wesker or Huntress, objectively well-designed Killers are annoying to play against after so many matches in a row.
-
And yet, to your specific example, the conclusion is the same either way.
SM is a problem.
Much like the overall data shows that Killers are killing at a high rate.

It is definitely more often than 1in 100….lol. Not really sure what you’re saying. I don’t see how playing optimally is a skill issue. Nowhere did I say that the survivors playing optimally is a skill issue. My gripe is that BHVR incentivizes the killer to play in a boring way more and more with each update. Their solution to everything is to nuke perks, while not addressing core gameplay issues. The vast majority of core issues that they do address are on the survivor side, leading to the killer being at a further disadvantage.
It’s frustrating because I think, in the past, the game has been in a better spot and leaned more towards skill being the determining factor. Unfortunately, complaining has pushed the meta to what it is now. Players aren’t expected to learn, and balancing changes pretty much address the loudest voices in the room, with little consideration of whether these complaints are valid or not.
Okay, so we get rid of tunneling, that way the game is focused more on "skill"
I actually think @Reinami had a very good idea regarding this a couple weeks ago that I quite liked.
Neither side has any wiggle room anymore, that I agree with. However, what I do not agree with is this notion your floating about being able to play sub-optimally and still win against an optimal team (assuming a reasonably fair match in terms of skill level)
-
@woundcowboy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3651645#Comment_3651645
I play to win every match, so I play optimally. Like you can argue (though I disagree) that you don’t have to camp/tunnel, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s more effective. I’ve experimented with many builds/playstyles in my time playing dbd, and playing defensively is almost always the better option. Spreading hooks only works if the survivors aren’t doing gens. By the time a non-mobile killer walks away from the hook to a gen the survivors are working on, they will have decent progress on it. While that’s happening, someone else is getting an uncontested save. It’s more efficient to be in the area to prevent or contest the unhook, and an even greater thing if there are gens near the hook. Camping puts pressure on the survivors to eat health states, or risk a 3v1.
Okay, so just stack slowdown and tunnel if winning is your only goal.
I really don't see what your issue is. You lose a match every hundred games, it's not a big deal. I get it, it sucks when you feel like you haven't been outplayed but rather have just been put into an instant loss.
Guess what, those last hundred games you tunneled, proxy'd and run four slowdowns? I bet those people thought the same thing, but your response would likely be that it's a skill issue for them, but somehow it isn't for you.

Like I said, both Skull Merchant and Legion got changed to eliminate a problem, but it didn't make them fun to go against.
But it seems to me all this hatred towards her is still because of her release, as it happened with Legion, rather than her current state.
She does require another change, but it should only concern her power (so no changes to her visual, mori, lore or name) and it definitely shouldn't take priority over other characters.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3651552#Comment_3651552
I honestly disagree with certain points here.
In my opinion her name works, her lore is alright and I really like her visuals. Her mori is similar to Freddy's, which is my favorite mori in the game so I'm okay with that, and her chase music isn't that bad.
What I can agree with is her power not being enjoyable to go against, although I don't think it is the worst in the game. When she gets changed again, it should be power and add-ons only.
It should take priority because literally nobody will play against her
-
@GeneralV said:

But they are both no longer actual problems.
Both Legion's rework and the Skull Merchant's rework got rid of certain aspects that made their powers genuinely unhealthy for the game. That doesn't mean they're fun to go against. For some players, they will never be.
They turned SM into a completely different problem.
They bloated the hell out of her kit and decided to make her miserable in a completely new way.
-
@GeneralV said:

I don't think it needs to go this far.
If players managed to let go of their hatred for Legion, then the same will happen for Skull Merchant. We just need to give it more time.
Legion got a full power rework, a normal rework and people still hate them.
They're just annoying now, but SM's rep won't change until she's completely different.

The bots we know though, right? To get a bot you need a disconnect, so that whole game isn't counted.
I was always under the impression that hatch escapes didn't count toward the escape rates, but now that you bring it up I can see the fact that it is null MMR does not necessarily mean it isn't counted here.
I was more meaning about how mmr views bot kills.
-
She's easily the worst designed Killer in the game. She epitomizes everything unfun about DBD. I hate to generalize but a lot of the worst elements of the community flock to her due to her absolutely horrific gameplay.
She also has some weirdly staunch defenders. She's a bad Killer, there's not really any debate. The game would be in a better spot without her in it.
She adds nothing of any value.

But do we have confirmation on how it is counted in these stats? Due to the mmr changes, this could be different as well. Do you have any confirmed insight on that?

True, i didnt think of that. Do we know that it counts as an escape?
As far as i know, escaping as survivor grants MMR. But hatch, as you said, also counts as an escape. However, its an escape that doesnt grant MMR.
Do we have an exact statement on how hatch is included in the stats?
Its always been counted before.
Pre-MMR it was counted. It also says "Escaped" at the end of the match when you leave via hatch.
-
It doesn't, but it still counts as an escape.
I'm not sure why you're conflating MMR and Escape Rates, so far as I can tell, they've nothing to do with each other.

Experience has taught me that those matches are a waste of time, unless I’m playing a top tier. If the group knows what they’re doing, most killers have no chance.
Are you good at Killer? I assume you must be, since you played in comp.
I dabbled in the comp scene for a bit. Did Community Cups, scrim nights etc etc.
Even on low-tiers, I'm winning the vast majority of my games. Hell, I beat an actual comp team as Wraith of all people. Wraith isn't bad, but I'd hesitate to call him high-tier.
As a former comp player, you aren't meeting people with your skill level or background consistently. You should be winning consistently, even against four man's. If I'm winning consistently, and you have more experience than me, you should be too
-
Evil?
Wesker, run Egg and Iri Vial. Bring a Coldwind Offering.
Run Deadlock, PR, PGTW and Grim. Could swap Grim for NWO or NOED.
Iri Vial functions as a mini-Corrupt, forces cleanses later too

This has been claimed time and time again, yet so many survivors managed to turn the 6.1 DH into an absolute menace that made playing killer again feel like a chore. It was BETTER then old DH for sure, but only because I eventually learned to predict and mindgame it, but that didn't counter the untold lose/lose situations that this "ping dependant" perk put me in at pallets.
God, how I hated that DH had zero "pallet drop cooldown" afterwards, there were loads and loads and again LOADS of times, were I correctly predicted the DH at a pallet and held my swing, yet was still hit in the head with the pallet afterwards, because I was 2 frames too slow.
And DH can still do all of this today, its just not as obiquitous anymore and severely limited in uptime, which is why so many survivor ditched it. I still die a bit inside every time I am hit by DH,though, but I guess thats just ptsd of the olden times.
On a sidenote: I find it very telling, that not a single of the anti-tunneling perks is in the top 10, even though tunneling has been the TOP complaint of the survivor player base. So it still seems to be a tough call for many to put their survival above the need to "stick it to the killer" and that they value offense more then defense. Thats a choice in itself, and while I think that doing something against tunneling would help the game a lot to become more fun, its still a choice that many make themselves: stay meta slaves instead of losing one of their valued meta perks for survivabilty.
It was also a real Exhaustion perk, not a situational perk used maybe twice per match.
It's a terrible perk right now.

Likewise to the hatch, a lot of bonus kills are made during EGC by altruistc survivors, or by the killer being forced to camp.
If survivors have powered the exits, but a killer secures one kill by camping through all three hookstages during EGC, is that a fair kill? Seems the equivalent to a hatch escape to me.
It is.
I just don't think the frequency is the same. I don't think it's a stretch to say a Survivor gets out during a one man EGC more than a Killer manages a Kill.
Could be due to bad Gate spawns, lucky Hatch spawn etc etc

What ratio would you propose?
50/50 preferably. If it's over a little either way that's fine.
You have to remember that Hatch is bloating escape rates, people ses 40% and think, "Wow, they're getting out through the Gate" when a significant portion are not.
Also, DC's likely increase the kill rates a lot as well. Maybe not important for balance, but important to understand the average players experience

Continue preaching the truth my friend regardless of all the hate replies you get. I've seen you in most threads and we agree on most things. People refuse to see that survivors are literally down in the dumps right now and they actually still think survivors need further nerfs even after these stats. Survivors NEED help, we NEED something because right now escaping is extremely rare. The only way i escape as a solo q survivor is if the killer is bad.
Even when i duo/trio queue our escape rate is slim to none. This meta has become extremely stale, having to do 7-8 generators per match only to still lose. Perks that are considered solid on the survivor side are reduced to trash the second someone finds any actual viability in it causing new survivor perks to become meme perks. Don't even get me started on every new killer BHVR has released lately has been Anti-Loop, Damned if you do, Damned if you don't killers inside chase. Looping is what makes this game fun to me and many others, and killers like Alien & Chucky just kill that for me, you can hardly counter their abilities in chase.
These are some huge issues i have as a solo/duo survivor not in any specific order of importance.
-Prestige 100 tunneling (Please hide survivor prestige's from killers).
-Generator slowdown perks making us have to do 7-8 generators per match (very low chance to even get that far).
-Regular proxy camping, tunneling (You all know what i mean).
Problem killers that in my opinion need looked at for having unhealthy aspects/playstyles.
-Skull Merchant (You know why).
-Alien (Damned if you do, Damned if you don't, just feels unhealthy for the game similar to Nurse).
-Chucky (Just reduce hit charge hitbox and further reduce the flick radius).
These are some survivor perks that i believe need some further changes by BHVR.
-Iron Will (Remove the exhaustion aspect).
-Spine Chill (As of right now, its literally garbage and i feel like they need to make it do ANYTHING else).
-Decisive Strike (Bring back 5 second stun).
-Self-Care (just something else, people who use it right now are hurting the team and themselves).
I am going to end it here, and keep in mind these are obviously just my personal opinions and i know some of you will disagree but oh well. These are legit issues with the game currently and there's nothing any of you can say to make me believe otherwise.
I think having some pure anti-loop Killers is fine, but having the bloat that we have isn't. You could play against Knight, SM, Alien, Chucky, Nemesis, (most) Artist, etc etc and all have the same gameplay loop. If they get there power on a loop, you die or hold W.
I think the vast majority of Survivor perks aren't worth running and need changes; that's also true for the Killer side.
Prestige should be hidden, nobody really seems to disagree.
I do think that there should be an objective after gens but before gates; after we get rid of tunneling. I do think it absolutely sucks to repair 7 or 8 gens worth of progress and it also sucks having them fly without gen regression.
Proxy'ing and tunneling are issues, one much larger than the other.

DC's aren't counted in these stats, regardless of who does it.
And the rest is going to be a negligible amount, save for maybe the absolute bottom with afk bots.

Am I missing something or why are you all so upset about the stats?
From what I see, all is going as planned.
I honestly wasn't surprised by anything, not even selfcare being in top 10 survivor perks.
Because the game has become much less fun since they started doing that.
You shouldn't lose because you queued for Survivor. That's literally just 2017 Killer.

As for your point about Nurse, sure, variety is better. If the game were better balanced, you could use killers like pig and doctor and have better matches.
We've been constantly dropping players, they'd definitely quit if every Killer jumped to 75% Kill Rate because of 1/1000000 comp teams

A 60% kill rate means the majority of the matches are only a 2k which isn't a win. It would require 62.5% for killers to win roughly half their matches. (Halfway between a 2k and a 3k). It's not a 60% win rate, it's a 60% kill rate.
That means, on average, a single Survivor is escaping with an occasional second.
That's not balanced. You shouldn't lose just because you queued for the wrong role.
