In my opinion, it's a combination of two factors.
The first is the most important: Inertia. There used to be a valid reason to hate her, and even back then people would spin their hate out into irrational and uncomfortable avenues. Remember how people decided her lore was worth hating her over, even though it was obviously fine and not related to the single thing wrong with her? That's still ongoing, but hopefully it should be in the dying-down phase as the fuel's been cut out of the fire.
The second is the reason the inertia gets to carry forward: Her design isn't one of the damaging-dash ones that have the broadest appeal, so a lot of people who currently hate her are probably never going to really like playing against her, they'll just get to a point where she's one of the less-fun killers to them. There's nothing about her substantially worse than any other killer, you could make similar complaints to the ones you see about Skull Merchant about a lot of killers - and for them, most might even be accurate!
Whatever the real cause, it's really annoying. At this point it's just distracting from the killers and mechanics that do need attention.
No, her lore is actually horrible, I don't know if any Tomes have made it better, but her release lore is something I could do better.
She needs more attention, preferably having her current ability nuked and giving her a better and healthier power.

To some effect but the legal issues never stopped the game being available to play it simply started to die off due to stagnating game state. Although if folks haven't tried the solo play kill quests they are still worth the 10 bucks for a hour of bloody fun even if the main game is ironically well... dead.
Maybe that's for the best... DBD has been out for a long time and you seem burned out on it. I don't play as much as I used to either not because I'm tired o fit, there is just new stuff to play.
Age of Wonders 4 eats up a lot of my game time these days but a 4x requires a lot of time to play. I keep coming back to DBD because if I have a 30-40 min window I can crack out a couple of self contained games without any real commitment and that's just great.
It's less burn-out and more, "Where do I go from here."
I've played almost 6K hours of Killer and there haven't really been a lot of interesting and innovative powers recently.

Did I miss something? Sadly, my expectation is that it's going to be like with Artist, Singularity and Xenomorph. Pretty rare after 2-3 weeks.
It's more the fact that he's new Killer.

This will continue to get better as BHVR seems keen on finally making more than 2 killer viable. The billy buffs have finally brought him to that point, now we have 4 viable killers instead of 2.
Eh, I'm not super sure on the curve window buff yet. Makes him a little too strong, imo.
It's just an overabundance of Billy atm. I think everyone is kinda sick of him. It'll get better eventually once people stop playing him (when Unlnown comes out)

Fair enough I'm not here to change the way you think about it just merely offer an alternative perspective that may help with the complaint that new players you introduce to the game aren't having any fun.
Yeah overall its on the game but the game is not bad its just hard, and anything hard is made easier and more enjoyable by good people to share that experience with.
I'm afraid your "truths" aren't that unbiased at least not the first two and even then the third one is a lil exaggerated.
Your perception of what's pleasant is subjective.
You only gain little because you are putting a lot of negativity in the first place which leaves little to gain, remember the fun of playing is the primary gain, before BP's or anything else. If you are going in with the precept that its not fun you've already severed your gains.
Its a hard game with a long learning curve and better match making could assist better with this but simply by pairing with a more experienced player you get dragged up a lil and its made harder which is not ideal. But how long that takes is up to the individual, not everyone is gonna invest a huge amount of time to get where they want to be unless where they want to be is the upper echelons of play.
You ask a very good question why would someone play if that was their outlook on things, which makes me ask why do you play?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3664616#Comment_3664616
I think if this was the case the game would be vastly more unpopular than it is.
It is a shame that you aren't getting out of it what you feel you put in, but most players likely aren't in that boat, even when new because there are relatively stable participation numbers and still generally gains in player base. (Admittedly this is from steam chart data so grain of salt but you can't deny there are a lot of people playing and having a good time doing so).
Compare DBD to F13, or similar, which lost all interest on a much shorter timeline.
To be fair, F13 got kneecapped early on by legal issues.
I don't play, not really anymore. Every once in a while some friends will want to see if Survivor is fun again, it's not. Every once in a while, I'll play some Killer, but I'm tapped out. I've pushed as high as I can on Console, I've played comp, scrim nights and Community Cups. There's not much left for me on Killer and while I'd like to be on par with someone like Ayrun or Hens as a Survivor, it's just not gonna happen with how unpleasant the game usually is, playing alone is awful and most of my experienced friends have long since quit.

I enjoyed this game immediately. I do not take a loss while learning as bad. In any pvp game there is a learning curve. Expect losses will occur and just enjoy the ride. If the core game is not their thing then they will probably not come back. It looks like it’s just unfortunate that they do not enjoy what the game is.
I think that's more an exception to the norm, honestly.
Even I didn't really like the game for a long while.

- So fun for you is defined by the ability to win and any other scenario isn't fun? This definition results in game being an "absolute cesspool" and "time waste" yet you aren't pessimistic you are realistic?
- No but your ability to play around it should increase which is generally what happens, why do you think there are players on here saying killer is weak, these are the players who can't catch survivors. Those survivors who are now good enough to not get caught by weak killers were once easily eliminated by them.
Sure the things don't change but neither do they happen all the time... as the narrative paints.
You don't have to dump it on them beforehand but what are you doing to instill a sense of fun in a new player as their gaming buddy?
"Do killers stop going after you so fast when your better?" If you get good enough yeah because trying to catch you becomes too costly and good killers know when to drop chase and move on. Some players may still get tunnel vision though and try to get you, you just have to run your best.
"how do i turn off my messages, i don't want to listen to some kid ######### talk me after that" There is a lil button for that... show it to them.
"How do you have fun as a survivor, are you supposed to die so quickly, I feel like Im not playing." Lets look at how you don't get found first and hence eliminated first, lets go over how to play around some of the basic structures to extend chase as much as possible.
I answered all these questions before too, but I did it in a way that doesn't paint a miserable or unavoidable scenario. Did everyone keep playing no... but some did and we still have fun today.
I never said you were to blame for them quitting but neither are you really doing anything to make them not quit. Because in the name of being "realistic" you make a very good argument for not playing at all.
Love the forums not giving me a notification :(
For me, yes. For them? No. Unfortunately, not winning in DBD is usually because you're getting stomped, which I've noticed is increasingly common. Close games are the rarity now and I can't really enjoy a stomp either way. It's either miserable because you are losing badly or I feel bad because someone clearly got backfilled in.
Absolute cesspool was descriptive of the community, at times.
The odds are that those Killers still won. If you actually choose to tunnel with decent perks, you're gonna win 99% of the time. They buy you time to kill someone, even if that person is out of your league.
They don't happen to themconstantly, no. Few people are tunneled in multiple games in a row. Tunneling itself, however, is present is nearly every game.
I'm trying to teach them. Tricks and tips I've picked up over the now SIX years (jeez it's been that long) I've been playing. I try to encourage them, suggest fun builds with their limited perks and guide them. I try to take pressure off them, direct them, etc etc
The messages thing is hidden in settings. It blocks all messages from anyone outside your friends list.
I do go over structures. They're new players, they go down in 10 seconds regardless. They don't have Distortion.
Yeah, if being realistic paints the game in a bad light, that's on the game.
Here's the absolute unbiased truth.
You will not have a pleasant experience in a lot of your games. You will gain very little reward for your effort. You will need to invest an extremely large amount of time to even get a foothold in DBD.
Why would someone play a game where they aren't going to have a pleasant experience, where the game is an almost insurmountable grind and an extremely steep learning curve.

no. Surprising other survivors is much more effective than camping or tunneling, so everyone who understood the game did that, right?
What's interesting is that the players who usually play Killer were the ones who enjoyed Lights Out the most ``as a survivor''. The harsh nature of the game is one in which only the survivors who remember the map, are careful in their pre-positioning, and are not full of gaps where they can easily allow one hit will survive, and this is a content that will touch the hearts of those who have overcome the killer playing that is more severe than usual. It seems like
It was more fun for everyone, but no, tunneling and camping was much more effective.
The anti facecamping system wasn't turned on and tunneling was easy because you had no perks to worry about. Once people understood that, the gamemode devolved.

Lights Out was well received by advanced players in Asia. Players who don't rate it are probably not enjoying the game, but thinking it's party pizza or something.
It just encouraged massive tunneling and camping.

So its realistic -
- That they can never learn to enjoy a game with tunneling by getting good enough to evade and avoid it or even punish it by running a killer for multiple gens? That can never be fun?
- No one is asking you to convince them they will be immune to tunneling that is unrealistic, but saying it never gets any better and there is no hope is the definition of pessimism. If your rationale has to have such an absurd justification for it, then it's not very rational.
I broke the points up because we are defining the realistic sentiments from the pessimistic ones, and no they can't be taken together for that purpose because only half of each point is realism and they are framed in pessimism, no matter how you look at it.
I've experienced all these things playing online in many different games. There is a difference between warning someone about it and telling them "it's a given" and always happens. If you don't frame your point realistically how can it be realism?
"Once again, the things they find unpleasant and unfair do not ever change." - Ignoring all the changes to gameplay over the years and denying a player has the ability to adapt and cope with elements intrinsic to the game, also known as "learning to play".
Have we grasped the difference between realism and pessimism yet?
That's how DBD is, no... but its how it can be, if you only derive joy from one particular aspect of the game i.e. "When DBD works (when either side doesn't try to stomp the other) it's very enjoyable." It's a competitive game by that I mean its you vs other people, PvP, people will play with all manner of motivations and your one motivation to play isn't necessarily the only correct one.
If unable to accept that then its not just DBD one shouldn't be playing but PvP games in general.
Presupposing and reinforcing this negative outlook in a new player creates a negative experience in of itself - Maybe try not doing that and new players might stick around even if its a challenge. Its a lot harder to do something hard when the person next to you is telling you how hard it is and that it never gets easier all of the time.
1) Yes, because that requires an entire team to counter. It doesn't matter if you lead the Killer on a minute and a half long chase if no gens get done. It is decidedly unfun to have that experience ad nauseum. Perhaps once or twice a session, sure, you can take the personal victory of some measure of time waste, but after so many experiences...it becomes apparent that what you do matters very little.
2) Can you honestly tell me that tunneling decreases the better you get? Because it sure doesn't seem that way to me. I've watched them play and they find it to be the most unpleasant part about the game; when they ask me, "Hey, does it ever get better when I get better?" what am I supposed to say? "Oh, well no, it doesn't you'll just have to get used to it"
It is a given. It will happen. How bad it is and what form it takes is something else, but I would be remiss to not warn them about the absolute cesspool that is DBD's community at times. Like I said, some of the best people I've met have been in this community; but also some of the worst.
Perhaps I should've been more clear. The things they find unpleasant do not change with playtime. Tunneling doesn't go away, BM doesn't, camping doesn't nor do boring playstyles or toxicity. Perhaps they could change via BHVR, but that's difficult to predict.
I'm glad other people can play certain ways, that doesn't change my enjoyment or my friend's enjoyment. We've had this discussion about people roleplaying a "real killer" before and I am not interested in repeating it, I doubt you are either.
I never dumped this info on them without them asking me first. I appreciate you blaming me for it, but no, I can assure you I was the only thing keeping them playing.
"The game was fun at first, but after awhile it just gets so hard to do anything and it's not fun. We want to play with you, but can we play a different game?"
"Do killers stop going after you so fast when your better?"
"how do i turn off my messages, i don't want to listen to some kid ######### talk me after that"
"How do you have fun as a survivor, are you supposed to die so quickly, I feel like Im not playing."
All messages from friends who've tried DBD with me and then quit because it's been such a miserable experience for them. I don't know how to screenshot on my phone, so quotes will have to do.

There is realism and then there is pessimism and they get confused a lot.
"Except it's not fun, even when you have the hang of it." - Pessimism.
"I'm not going to lead them on by telling them it gets better when it doesn't" - Pessimism
"You can be tunneled even at 6k hours" - Realism it's possible to be "tunneled" in any game regardless of hours.
"they will always get tunneled and it won't change" - Pessimism, they won't always be tunneled that's just absolutist rot.
"They don't like getting BM'd" Realism - "but external harassment is practically a given with this community." - Pessimism external harassment exists but is not guaranteed.
"tunneling gets more efficient and Killers run better perks with more oppressive powers." Realism - players do get better at strong tactics and unlock better perks as they progress, but so do survivors... however you prefix and frame the point in Pessimism - "The game is profoundly unfun for new players and I will not lie to them. It doesn't get better"
If I was a new player and you said to me, lets play DBD and then framed your experience like that... I would be dissuaded too. We haven't even got to the game yet. When you play with your friends part of their positive, and/or negative, play experience is their interaction with you and that is on you.
If they don't enjoy being tunneled, (they do not), getting the hang of DBD will NOT change that. -Realism.
I am not going to lead them on with ideas that they'll be immune to tunneling or that Killers won't do it anymore or that teammates get significantly more competent. - Realism.
You separated my points when they were meant to be taken together. They will never "outgrow" unfun mechanics because even as someone with 6K hours, I'm still getting those same things.
I have been told to kill myself in various different ways. I have been DDoS'd for hours. Spammed, routinely booted anytime my Console turned on, etc etc. I can post screenshots. This community has some of the nicest people I've met and most of the most psychotic. They need to be made aware of that and accept the risk of that happening to them as well. What kind of friend would I be if I DIDN'T warn them?
Once again, the things they find unpleasant and unfair do not ever change.
That's how DBD is. If you don't like it, I suppose you shouldn't play it.
-
Literally none of these were nerfs

Yes but weighing up those costs and choosing to allocate time between gens or helping your buddies is part of the game.
You can't do it all every game and nor should you be able to, so when playing with friends who are knew you may have to sacrifice some things, including yourself, in order to help them out.
Part of building a positive team experience for a new player is being part of the positive experience yourself. You can't guarantee the opponent will but you can try your best to do it.
Judging from some of the other comments in the thread
i.e. "I don't say that because I don't have it in me to lie to them.
The best I can do is say, "Play Killer." They usually say something like, "I want to play with you though, what's the point in playing if we aren't able to play the game with you." "
If you are constantly poo pooing the experience yourself then what motivation does someone else have to continue with it? If you inject nothing but negativity into it you get nothing but negativity out of it.
Maybe set expectations better, when I say "hey lets play DBD" I also say "you are gonna die a lot but trust me when you get the hang of it... its fun". I then go out of my way to try and help my new pal out even if it means getting butchered for my efforts. I'm jovial even with that outcome because my positivity will drive theirs, even if the task is hard.
Except it's not fun, even when you have the hang of it.
I'm not going to lead them on by telling them it gets better when it doesn't. When DBD works (when either side doesn't try to stomp the other) it's very enjoyable. Unfortunately, that never happens anymore.
They don't enjoy being tunneled out. That's never going to change, they will always get tunneled because even at 6K hours I get tunneled.
They don't like getting BM'd. I don't mind it a lot, in-game, but external harassment is practically a given with this community.
The game is profoundly unfun for new players and I will not lie to them. It doesn't get better, tunneling gets more efficient and Killers run better perks with more oppressive powers.
I give them the true realistic experience. If that experience is negative, that isn't on me. If it's positive, it's not on me. It is what it is.

They don't spawn with the traps, You still have to put traps on their heads (unless you use the other useless UR Pig add-on), but they don't activate on a survivor after they've been unhooked, and after activating there's no timer ticking down. If there are more than 1 survivor with an active RBT (meaning each one would've had to have been hooked once and saved once) when one dies with an active RBT, the RBT's kill the others.
Pros:
Potential to kill more than 1 survivor if you manage to sacrifice a survivor with an active RBT.
Jisgaw boxes take longer to search, and have slightly smaller success zones that feature no Great success zones.
Encourages team mates to protect each other until the RBT's are removed since one sacrifice could snowball on the others.
Tunneling 1 survivor doesn't work until you've applied and activated RBT's on 1 or more other survivors, which encourages the killer to get as many traps active as possible before going in for the kill.
Cons:
Because RBT's aren't activated until the survivors with them are unhooked, survivors can counter by leaving another with an inactive RBT on the hook buying them time to try and remove their RBT before unhooking their allies.
RBT's no longer feature a timer, nor do they activate via gens, so there's no gen slowdown due to getting a "friend hat" from the Pig. Meaning they could just rush gens, and only go after jigsaw boxes at mid to end game.
Pig has to fully sacrifice a survivor on a hook with an Active RBT in order to get any other active RBT's to trigger and kill other survivors, Mori's won't do it.
Jigsaw box RNG is still a thing, so it's still highly possible to get the RBT off your head with the second or third Jigsaw box searched.
Basically This has the potential to create a chain reaction of RBT deaths, but in practice, it'll likely only get 1 other survivor at most by the time someone dies with an active RBT, if that. Still, it puts a lot of pressure on survivors to try and get their active RBT off before unhooking someone whose RBT hasn't been activated yet, as well as help each other stay alive until all RBT's are disarmed. I thought this would be a far better alternative for the Ultra Rare add-on slot because it changes up the playstyle for both Pig and the survivors, much like how Hag's UR add-on trade teleports for high Movement speed, or Myers UR allows him to kill without hooking by making him take much longer to Tier up. I Believe that this add-on suggestion in practice will more likely be akin to Hex: Pentimento... sure it has the potential to dominate a match if all 5 totems are re-kindled, but that's so extremely rare to actually happen that Streamers made a "Challenge" out of it.
I've been suggesting these changes since 2019, and Despite the cons which I feel make the potential power of this add-on more balanced, and the fact that it would follow the Saw franchise lore surrounding Amanda (Pig) better, I got slammed with a slew of comments from survivors saying they would DC in droves against Pig if the idea were implemented, and the only thing anyone agreed on was that "Rules set No.2" should be base kit. I believe that the reason they shot it down so harshly is simply because they didn't understand that I had balance in mind when coming up with it, which is why I took the liberty of spelling it out this time around.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3662684#Comment_3662684
Case and point! Pulsar doesn't understand that you need to Apply multiple RBT's, they need to be activated by teammate's unhooking, and THEN you have to actually manage to sacrifice one of the teammates WITH an Active RBT in order to get the chain reaction of kills. In other words, There's no point in tunneling anyone if you don't have active RBT's on any of the other survivors, and even then, there's no timer on them, so the only time based condition is: How many survivors can remove their RBT's vs. How quickly the killer can get multiple RBT's placed, Activated, and Sacrifice one of them to trigger the chain reaction.
This isn't Billy, Bubba, Ghost-Face, Blight, etc, Killers with high mobility and one shot-downs... this is Pig we're talking about. No insta-down capability, a special attack that's highly telegraphed, a game slowdown mechanic and otherwise your standard m1 killer. I figured a Playstyle altering add-on with high setup and the potential for high reward would be a great change of pace for Pig.
Rules set no.2 also doesn't do anything significant enough to kill new players, especially with the upcoming 3 min timer change. There's no reason it shouldn't be base kit at this point.
Oh, good, so you just need two downs to tunnel.
Also, Rule Set No. 2 is basekit, so they aren't gonna get the Trap off quickly.
Yeah, I don't think this addon idea is great. Also, Pig's Ambush was, surprisingly, very good on the PTB. Keep her Traps vaguely non-lethal and for the love of everything holy, do not encourage people to tunnel more.
-
@TWiXT said:
After all these years, I'm still saying Make the Rules Set No.2 (hides Jigsaw box auras for survivors until their RBT is activated) part of her base kit, Make Amanda's Letter Take current Rules Set No. 2's place in rarity (It doesn't really feel powerful enough to be an Ultra Rare), and replace it entirely with:
Heart Monitor Trigger (UR):
A modification to the Reverse Bear Traps Trigger Mechanism:
Reverse Bear Traps now activate without a timer when a survivor with one is unhooked. If a survivor with an Active Reverse Bear Trap is Sacrificed, all other active Reverse Bear Traps are Triggered.
Increases Jigsaw Box Search time by 8 seconds
Increases Jigsaw Box Skill check Difficulty by 25%
Removes Great Skill Check Success zones from Jigsaw boxes.
"You are not a good listener. I think you missed the part that if he dies, you die." - Amanda Young
This is...literally just Tunneling (Patent Pending) the add-on. I think you need to go back to the drawing board on that one.
Rule Set No. 2 basekit really only kills new players, it's a mild inconvenience for more experienced players, which is who she needs hslp with. She already stomps new players.

The way I said it already the reason for the post was because I had three games in a row of me having two slugs at the end and one of them Kobes off the hook and people still trying to gaslight me into thinking I did not experience what i experienced
Because it's a statistical improbability.
Does it suck if this actually happened to you? Absolutely. Am I sure that it was very frustrating, especially the final two times? Yes.
I also expect some degree of self-awareness that this happened is such an unlikely event that it doesn't really matter, in the grand scheme of things.
We all get massively unlucky in DBD occasionally. It's a game heavily dictated by RNG, that's just the way it goes.
-
So you only have an issue when Survivors 4% in games that you're already winning. I mean, sure, alright. I don't see why it's such a huge blow to your ego to have someone get lucky once every twenty games, but you could just bring Monstrous Shrine. That would fix your issue, but I doubt you'll do that since you don't want to fix it, you want someone else to fix it for you.
-
It's a strategy to remove yourself from an unpleasant experience. Let's be honest, most people 4% to kill themselves.
Just as much a strategy as camping, tunneling or whatever else.
The only difference is that you don't like this one.

There is no reason to give prestige 100 to a survivor beyond flexing. Unless you are the type of survivor that carries a flashlight to every match you don't need items. Those points are more valuable on your killers, and even then, none of my killers are remotely close to reaching prestige 100.
If you really are flexing, then you shouldn't be surprised if killers lobby dodge you for a fair match or if they tunnel you to see how good you really are.
Could it possibly be because they like that Survivor? Gasp, how dare they!!!!
you shouldn't have a guaranteed worse experience because you decided to prestige your characters. I've put literally hundreds of millions of bloodpoints into my Killers, but you wouldn't know it because I don't just play a single one.

Nah.
You can 12-hook via a soft tunnel fairly consistently.
12-hooking without tunneling is more difficult, but still certainly possible

Do you get the feeling that when you’re playing with friends who are new, you’ve got to play super aggressively (keep aggro/pull chase) to keep them from being tunneled out? And along with that you might also need to get saves and heal them?
I also have to do gens and bring a super medkit.
There's only so many hits I can take for them though.

Depends on the map.
The disparity between something like Garden of Pain and Rotten Fields is almost as big as the disparity between Nurse and Trapper.

The difference in play styles between Asia and Europe and America may be the reason for the difference in perception. You probably don't have the mindset of increasing your own survival rate by sacrificing yourself if necessary and increasing the survival rate of all survivors. This itself is a matter of understanding the game.
It's unfortunate for both you and me.
It's very simple.
You lose MMR if you die and you gain MMR if you win.
If you lose MMR, you get more bad teammates who won't save you, causing you to drop more.
If you gain MMR, you get better teammates (theoretically) but Killers get much more intensely focused.

This was not the Pig buff I was expecting.
Do we also get Boxadako? The fusion of a box and Sadako?

But this map is worse for the majority of the killer cast
For who?
Trapper: Sure, but he's also Trapper, he's kinda bad everywhere.
Wraith: Nah, The Game is alright for him.
Billy: Maybe? You can shred pallets fast, but his mobility isn't useful.
Nurse: C'mon.
Hag: Yeah, it's bad for Hag.
Doctor: Kinda? Skillcheck Doc goes hard. So does fast detonation.
Huntress: No orbitals but pallets are a death trap.
Bubba: It's not horrible.
Pig: Can be fine.
Freddy: All maps are bad for the Fredster.
Clown: Yup, it's bad.
Spirit: Nah, she's okay here.
Legion: He's great here.
Plague: She's fine.
GF: He's good here.
Demogorgon: He's okay. Kinda the same as Bubba and Billy.
Oni: Pretty bad here.
Deathslinger: He's okayish. Easy shots.
PH: He's good here. Easy hits
Blight: Same as Bubba. He's okay.
Twins: They're good there. Easy slugs.
Trickster: is okay there. Easy knives.
Nemesis: Good there. Easy hits.
Pinhead: Good. Easy Box.
Artist: She's fine, bird at loop.
Sadako: Unknown after her 9000th rework. She used to be good there.
Wesker: bad map.
Knight: Good map. Small and Guards are brutal on multiple floors.
SM: 3 gen ouch. Area denial ouch.
Singularity: Meh. Not good or bad.
Alien: Good map. Easy tail hits over pallets.
Chucky: Once again, easy hits over pallets. Or under, rather

Agreed until you mentioned GF, an m1 killer on the game is easy to loop, if you sonehow on earth get downed by a ghostface on the game you had to do a horrible misplay.
He's stealth and the map doesn't have good sightlines.
Lery's has a lot of safe windows and good pallets, but GF is still picked heavily there.

Unfavorable because it takes a long time to traverse is one thing
Unfavorable because there's like 4 pallets blocking the hallway is another
Billy on RPD.
Nurse on Lerys.
Blight on RPD.
These are all Killers with the same issues. Some maps are gonna be worse for you.

Or, or and hear me out. It's not scummy at all and it's just a neat reward for people who decided to get it and anybody who decided not to buy it just don't have it? I don't think its scummy or manipulative at all.
Do a little research on your own then.

I have experienced many times when I have been saved by the sacrifices of my allies, and on the other hand I have also help other. Are you saying that there is no such cooperation system?
It is usually not possible. Games these days usually either end up in a 4K or a 4 escape.
Getting a single person out is not a win. DBD is not a team game, at its core.
I have no control over my random teammates nor their actions. Considering that DBD actively punishes you for sacrificing yourself for your friends, I doubt many are jumping at the opportunity.

It should just be a one-story indoor map like Lery's. I'd rather have a big map any day than a tiny one packed to the gills with god pallets. It's not as bad when I play Bubba because I can create a dead zone, but there shouldn't be a map that gimps half the killer cast and I shouldn't be afraid to queue up as Clown because of the possibility I'll be sent to this map (which has been happening every day)
All Killers have maps they are unfavorable on.

It is told entirely from the perspective of a novice survivor. If you say you don't, then by all means, take care of the novice survivors. He can be helped in any way he can by the cooperation of those around him.
If I play with my friends who are new, they get put up against experienced Killers who identify them and tunnel them out ASAP.
If I do not play with them, they get tunneled out by Killers near their own MMR.

I really don't mind getting tunneled too, doesnt mean it isnt a problem.
On topic, best solution I can give the OP, stop playing m1 killers, they are frankly pathetic and have a low skill ceiling, try some of the good killers and try and get good plays most of the good killers can counter the loops on that map if you get good enough.
The Game is an absolutely tiny map with two stories and limited sightlines.
To OP, use that to your advantage. M2 Killers don't care too much about the map and a lot of M1 Killers have stealth or slowdown. Sucks if you wanna play Clown though.
-
I really don't mind it too much
-
Because it's psychological manipulation targeting at-risk people and children.
It's scummy, straight-up.
-
@xltechno said:
An inexperienced killer will lose sight of a survivor before tunneling in the first place. The tunnel is established not because the killer is complacent with cheap actions, but because of a failure on the part of the survivor.
I hate sophistry. If you all are considering Survivor to have beginners, ask for it from Killer as well.
No, they won't. New Killers tunnel just as much and it's just as effective since they don't leave the hooked area.
Tunneling is entirely on the Killer. The Survivor cannot force the Killer to tunnel.
-
Consider this, it doesn't matter if you take the Killer on a minute long chase. With the amount of anti-loop powers and the average map being filled with deadzones, I'd say a minute is a long chase.
When they have perks like Deadlock or PR or Grim stacked on top of natural slowdown (healing, unhooking, chases etc etc) they can afford to get destroyed in chases and still win handedly.

What are you talking about? You're literally saying that someone getting downed is a hook 99% of the time. That's only true at a beginner level where the game isn't balanced on. You asked for a video to "prove" that a down isn't a 99% guaranteed hook - I gave you one showing at least 5 different ways survivors can use game mechanics to deny hooks from a down - that wasn't even showing sabotages. Anyone can use these methods - they just need experience on how to use them. They are incredibly common at mid tier+.
Yes, I am saying that and I realize I'm being baited.
Look, I love the Ayrun's and the JRM's and the Skermz type guys, they're hysterical and are good for the game. Is BP probably overtuned? Yes, probably.
You shouldn't be losing hooks consistently unless you're a beginner playing against more experienced players.
I'l link you a Hens or KnightLight stream and we'll see how often they lose hooks.

Console chat is 100% more wholesome than the ingame chat.
Probably because the toxic players disable it. I've found if a fellow PlayStation player has their messages open, they're almost never negative and it's GG's and great banter all-round.
Although the threat of losing your entire PSN account if moderated, rather than just a single game, could be a factor there.
I've been DDOS'd countless times.
Told to kill myself.
Racial slurs.
Sexist/Homophobic slurs.
EGC has nothing on console chat, but it's still ######### and I would hate to see it be ANOTHER avenue for abuse.

Just watch any mid+ tier videos. I'm not saying you're bad, I'm just saying if you're getting a 99% pickup rate, you're still dealing with some new survivors who aren't familiar yet with the tools available to stop pickups. Once you get more experience, you'll start getting higher tier survivors who use such tools.
Just a quick youtube search brings this one up. They utilize a good amount of such tools.
LOL.
Should I bring out a Noob3 video next? Perhaps a trolling montage?
That's ridiculous, I can't believe I fell for this.

How do you nerf 4 seconds of extra healing without it being a waste of a perk slot?
Make it only apply to altruistic heals.

This would be true if the killer wasn't also a player. How do you think it would feel on the survivor side if every time the killer hooked you, you had a 4% chance to just immediately die?
That's called Solo Q and I also love not being unhooked

The problem is that I have to assume everyone is competent from the beginning. I’ve had countless matches in which I played chill and it turns out they knew how to hold M1 on gens. It only takes one bad chase to lose the entire match.
Indeed, and the same is true for Survivors.
I do feel there's a middle-ground.

Hi! Might be an unfamiliar concept but perhaps perchance maybe different players have different ways of having fun!
Some might find their fun playing very chill and casual, bringing in gimmicky builds and just doing tome challenges!! While others enjoy this game by setting a goal for themselves and try to dominate the other side as best they could as possible!! Wow! They are both completely valid ways of using this game as a way of having fun! Nice!!
I am curious.
What of players who play to make other players miserable?

My point is that they should change gameplay to make it more feasible to play for hooks. Incentivizing it isn’t enough.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3660268#Comment_3660268
Tunneling/camping is the only way to get 3-4k against competent groups. You have no choice if you want to win.
Define competent.
As a former competitive player, a competent group is far below your skill level. Above-average players playing together isn't that common.
Against very good players, who are also grouped up, sure, I'd agree with that. But that's so uncommon. That's what, maybe 1/20 games? You'll probably win that too.

Yes doubt someone’s experience because you definitely lived them
I mean, if I say, "I get mori'd by Sadako every match" people are rightfully gonna be questioning that since it's so unlikely statistically speaking.
Also, as an aside, I saw you replied to me but I can't seem to find it here
