She didn't need any buffs, but the only egregious thing was the speed while holding a hatchet. With that being reverted, I don't really any issue.
Still odd that they identified her as needing buffs at all, though.
I think that one also needs to be reverted.
One of the things with that separate's Huntress and Trickster is meaningful counterplay. You can dodge a couple Huntress Hatchets and it means something. Making her have 7 Hatchets takes away from that and will make her feel worse to play against.
As an aside, it's a band-aid fix. Locker spawns need to be better for several Killers; they should've just redone those instead.

YOOOOO I LOVE 4.6 NURSE
SHE'S JUST TOO WEAK!!!!!!!

Is it only a problem when killers do it? Or is it also a problem when survivors do it?
So far as I know, and I'm not omniscient, the highest Survivor streak is a 3-out and that's over 300, I think. It's also performed by some of the best players in the world.
Compare that to an equivalent Killer streak; Momo's Blight streak. Momo is an exceptionally good player and his Blight streak is 4K (with gens remaining, I think?) and it's over 2000 games.
I think the difference speaks for itself. Even with an easier win condition, Survivor streaks don't really get up there like Killer streaks do. I think 300 for the best players in the world is, well, fine. They are the best after all playing against random Killers. I also think that'd be fine for Killers, maybe even 500.
But 2000 4K's in a row is a bit excessive.

Clown is not that weak tbh... With both bottles in play you can outplay most loops, it just that barely anyone does that and he has bad map pressure and mobility.
Certainly not a Killer a lot of people would put above C-tier though.

Revert her back to the power design phase. Give her something strong and fun to do.

Obviously? Like are we just stating stuff that should be basic knowledge by now? Matchmaking is bad, really good players are rare, some killers are weaker than others. 4 really good survivors in one team are reeeeeally rare and so on and so forth.
I don't know, haven't been following that guy? But I guess with Blight nerfs it should be at least a bit harder to keep up against the occasional comp team that tries to ruin the streak?
Could be.
Also, as for weaker Killers, I think Clown hit 450 games with a 4K recently

Oh yeah, the good ol' days of survivors being 100% safe holding W and dropping pallets because the break animation was just long enough to reach the next safe loop/pallet.
That's crazy I've been told none of those changes mattered at all and that Survivors were still safe doing that same strat today

As I said before, there are far more comp killers just playing killer than full on 4 men comp teams... The odds of meating a comp killer are just higher, therefore the streak ends with a higher probability. However the condition of such a streak ending is the same, if they encounter a comp player or a 4 men comp team, they will have a really rough time.
KNightlight on his 500 + Nurse streak has often said that if a comp team snipes him his streak would just end.
Pretty sure that means that these "unbeatable SWF's" that people seem to run into every game aren't actually that good.
Also isn't momo still on his 2000+ Blight streak? I'm pretty sure he's been sniped.

Yes, so it's a result of bad survivors not doing their jobs and holding back survivors who aren't. It's just that too many survivors don't work.
In fact, life as a survivor is extremely comfortable if I have the right people to work with, including me.
It's the literal best team in the world playing Survivor going for these streaks.

Of course, this is a tragedy because there were no more three Mr. Albys. Survivors who are selfish are always an obstacle to survivors who are not.
The worst enemy of a decent survivor is a bad survivor, not killer.
Even 4-man Survivor streaks aren't very long and they aren't restrictive at all.
Even Clown has a higher 4K streak than Survivors have and the Survivors counted 3 escapes as a win.
-
@Crowman said:
The solution is survivors do gens while someone is being chased. Someone being tunneled out at 5 gens is the fault of the survivors, because it's already possible for 2-3 gens to be completed by the end of the first chase.
Deadlock, Corrupt, PR, Grim, Lethal, etc etc.
All of these perks give the Killer the ability to tunnel out at 5 gens and win handedly.
-
I'd still like to see Overcharge's skill check while running be swapped to normal skill checks and have Overcharge's skill check be an instant fail.

You did not. This was about the general mindset of "I don't like x killer, I don't want them in my dbd. Killer has to go and until then, I will give up against them."
Instead of fueling the hate train, we should give constructive feedback.
"I don't want to play against this like anyone else" or "just delete her" is not constructive feedback.
Except the proper response to SM is to functionally delete her.
Her power is a jumbled mess of ideas that needs to be scrapped and re-approached. They keep trying to make stationary status effect zones work and they just DO NOT.
Back to the drawing board to think up a power that is both strong (because SM is just like Old Legion, strong but weak) and decent to play against. I'm not asking for a Demogorgon or Billy level of fun to play against; I'd take Wesker or Artist.

rng shouldn't be such a massive deciding factor. op's wording is weird, but their point is valid. those shack into gym set ups, or any good filler pallet into gym window set ups shouldn't exist at all. same with a coldwind map with all tiles being LTs and C tiles. that map is basically one big dead zone.
And yet, I've yet to see a post from them about that.
This is about Survivors potentially beating them. They didn't, and they likely won't in the future, but they COULD and that seems to be what matters.

I agree with you.
But from what I observe their mentality is that the game should be balanced around high level survivors.
Which would have merit if BHVR enforced team play. But they don't, so it makes no sense to treat survivors like they'll always be playing like a SWF.
They seem to have no intention of changing that either

You're tired of CoD? You've got plenty of other shooters to pick from.
Tired of a MOBA? Plenty of others.
Tired of a MMO? Literally thousands of them.
Tired of DBD? You've got the corpse of F13, Evil Dead and the rapidly deteriorating TCM. People keep coming back because there's not much else around.

To be fair. It feels like nobody actually read the OP just the title and video.
The point of the post was to highlight the structure, and they specifically stated the team they were against was bad but high level survivors would've made it too strong.
I still disagree with them, but the responses have the wrong energy imo.
Okay, so then on a serious note.
You'd need both:
A) High-level Survivors. Not common, as shown by Kill rates and win streaks.
B) Very specific RNG. I have to assume they'd have already posted this if they had seen it before, which means it's fairly rare.

Nope.
I play it out, usually. I don't blame anyone for doing that, but at least you aren't backfilling someone else into it. I don't really think I've heard anyone say that they enjoy playing against SM. In the off chance that they do, they can still play against her, just as a 1v1.

@xltechno said:
Even in such an environment, advanced survivors boast a 60% escape rate.
For those who don't, it might be a good idea to take a moment to think about why they are different.
By the way, these survivors all agree that tunnels and camps are tactics, and while it's true that they may not be fun for survivors sometimes, but counterattacks are possible.
We literally just got stats that show that high-mmr 4-man SWF's escape 48% of the time

Killers dodge all the time based off of items.
Citation needed.
-
It's easy, it's efficient and it's difficult to counter.
Perks support it, you get more value from perks like Deadlock and PGTW whilst still being able to use perks like PR or NWO afterwards.
Plus, there's a significant portion of the community that enjoys making sure the other side has a terrible experience and derives joy from it, so obviously anything abusable is gonna be a holy grail to them.

Nah, you're wrong. I can't even say I disagree because you don't disagree with something that's just wrong. You can't disagree with fire being hot.
But that being said, it doesn't have anything to do with this discussion. You're talking about player levels, they're talking about items. Those two things have nothing to do with one another.
You think Killers should be able to shop for lobbies?! Jesus, what a bad take.
Who the hell is talking about player levels, all I mentioned was the inability to lobby shop being a positive change.
Killers dodge all the time based off of items.
-
@Zenislev said:
It's an asymmetrical game. Survivors get 16 perks, killers get 4. Survivors get 4 items with 2 addons a piece, killers just get the 2 addons. Killers need information a hell of a lot more than survivors do, because there's only one of them.
If you want to start complaining about it being unfair, then okay, fine. Give the killers 16 perk slots and 8 add-on slots, then It'd be fair for survivors to either see the killer, or for the killer to not see them.
Alternately, make it a 4v4 game. It'd be "fair" then.
I swear, people have no idea what asymmetrical means. They just look at stuff and go "buh buh but- THAT'S NOT FAIR!", without taking into consideration the type of game they're playing or the reason it exists.
Killers shouldn't be able to shop for lobbies.

@Rivyn said:
Stop tunneling my gens, please.
Though, if your team is crouching the first steps of a match, I'd assume low MMR, with new players?
Unlikely.
They seem to at least grasp the idea that whoever gets found first is going to be tunneled out. To ensure their own experience, they are taking steps to mitigate the risk.
Doesn't sound like new players.

@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3666342#Comment_3666342
Agreed.
Although I think they are all salvageable in some way. Champion of Light could impact the blind duration and give flashlights 20% extra battery (just an idea, the numbers are not fully thought through). Illumination could use some number buffs and highlight gens that are worked on in white. That would give it a bit more utility.
Deadline is a bit difficult to fix. So I'd prefer a rework for it. We don't need Hyperfocus builds to become super popular.
But also, Autodidact stocks would go down with a Deadline rework :(
Still sad that we have to discuss reworking perks or Killers right after they launch.

Probably not but it will need to be addressed and then we'll have some people claim that all survivor perks just get nerfed.
This can definitely not stay though.
Yeah, I agree it can't stay.
That will mean all of Wake's perks are well and truly duds though, which is unfortunate

Yes, this was from quite some time ago.
2) I do not, I don't really play Survivor much as most of my friends don't play anymore.
3) About this time in 2018. Around 6 years of active playing.

If you do want to have a conversation, then yeah, I'll follow suit.
Basically, the problem is that people only went to go nitpick her lore because they already didn't like her. It doesn't help that BHVR decided to go for a slightly campy route, which is something I find people have a hard time recognising and appreciating even when they aren't already mad, but it's mostly the first thing.
The lore's just fine. It has some fun ideas, it executes on them fine, and it has the BHVR-typical poor pacing and lack of focus. It does spend too much time on her early life compared to later, and I separately also have an issue with it not going into the origin of her drones at all, but those are two fairly small problems in the grand scheme of things.
The whole obsession with her father's manga thing is overblown as bad writing, in my opinion. It's just kind of campy, there's nothing really wrong with it - and since learning about how Brazil has a massive manga scene, I can appreciate BHVR writing that into her story. I think it does aid in her vibe a little bit - she's basically the Colonel (? it's a military rank don't @ me it's been so long since I read this) from The Most Dangerous Game, and that character's also meant to be a larger-than-life kind of figure. Characters like her should have some kind of flair, I'd argue. What she has is fine.
I'm not gonna come out here and say it's a masterpiece. BHVR do have some really good writing, but most of it's exactly the same level of quality as Skull Merchant: It's fine. Fun ideas, decent enough execution, I've never really liked the voice they're written in and I've always thought they had poor pacing. SM's isn't unique, people were just already mad and didn't take to the slightly goofy element very well because of it.
I think he's a General, iirc.
The real issue, I think, is that she's just campy (in more ways than one lmao). If you take it like that, then yeah, I could see how it's fine. She's goofy, she's a little silly and maybe that's alright for some people. Like Army of Darkness-lite. Still horror but just silly horror.

The trope of "character weirdly obsessed with one harmless hobby and manifesting it into violent reality" is good writing and you cannot tell me otherwise.
Her fathers manga being the interest is so niche, but I love it because of that reason. Imagine if her "inspiration" was something generic like video games or car racing. She is unique in literally every aspect, coming from an interesting background and having a unique life unlike any killer in the game.
Also her tome is one of the best tomes in the game but considering most sm haters are just on a bandwagon I'm guessing you and many other people are not gonna take the time to read it.
That's why I asked if her Tome made her lore better.
Also, most DBD original characters are "unique". Take Artist for example, can't really think of anyone else turned into a bird-hybrid by a cult for a lovecraftian horror.
She also starts stalking people and obsessing over people "better" and planning ways to get to them before that manga is even mentioned. I don't know if you meant to make it sound like her obsession with the literature made her into what she is, but that's kinda what it sounds like and that's not really true.
She's just cosplaying the character, which is kinda not that cool. Personally, I would've liked it if the manga had been written when she was younger and she forgets about it over time. Sort of keep the rest of the story the same, maybe have her father die earlier due to overworking and but past that, keep it the same. Have her re-discover her father's manga and have her realize she's pretty much become that character, but at this point, she's in too deep. Gives it a little more of a tragic twist whilst still keeping her wholly evil.
Idk, that's just off the cuff, haven't given much thought to lore corrections.

I agree with this completely honestly.
They are confusing being able to hold matches hostage (absolutely ridiculous how that somehow went live and then took MONTHS to fix) and 3-genning.
Her 3-gens are still almost impossible to break due to her Drones time wasting ability and her own buffs from them, as well as the 5% regression that must be repaired.

Excellent example of the exact kind of thing I was talking about.
Uh huh.
Care to enlighten us all about how her lore is some outstanding piece of literature? A modern classic perhaps?
It spends over half the entry talking about her father and extremely little time talking about her as this "dark Brazilian manga" character that she decided to cosplay.
The whole premise and justification of the idea is absolutely ridiculous, it's horrible writing which has been the unfortunate norm for a while.
The actual premise is fairly interesting, which really makes it worse. A CEO that uses their wealth and technology to hunt down rival company's for a competitive edge? That's not bad, it's like a evil Batman, in a sense. Add everything else in though? It creates a mess.
Also, her power is still bad, please make it healthy and strong.
