- Coal tower, nothing the other exhaustion perks couldn't also do. Dead Hard, Lithe and Sprint Burst all work here as well.
- Haddonfield is, y'know, Haddonfield. Already said that one, so yeah, sure.
- Stagger reduction matters very little for the combine. Sure it can proc here. So can Lithe. Lithe can also proc and many other places. I've also legit had my Balanced Landing not proc several times when dropping even from the longer drop of the combine, but let's chalk that up to DBD being DBD.
- Ormond, any other exhaustion perk works here. Balanced Landing has no advantage over the others here.
- The Game has the poop shoot I guess, but again, that's a niche location. Lithe doesn't work too great on this map, but Sprint Burst as usual is fine and Dead Hard is extra useful here due to the over abundance of often, very safe, pallets.
Again, my point isn't that Balanced Landing cannot be used anymore -- my point is that there's no point in using it over the other exhaustion perks because they have far more general use compared to Balanced Landing which is very restrictive on where it can be used and the other benefits it provides in trade-off for that strictness are okay at best and incredibly niche at worst.
I was talking where BL could be used to extend loops without Exhaustion. How are you going to manage getting off of the second story of Ormond without getting hit?
The combine one, yeah, I have also had that happen, its why I drop off the side.
The Coal Tower, depending on if the good window is open, can be used as a BL loop spot by dropping off of the second floor, not something you can do with any other Exhaustion perk.
The Game has a ton of spots where you would take a hit if you didn't have BL.
Overall, it's simply bringing BL in line with the other Exhaustion perks.

A minute or so? Dude if the rest of your team are on gens that's 2-3 gens down.
Yes, I am well aware. However, it is NOT an infinite. A god loop where there isn't supposed to be one? Yes. But it isn't an infinite.

Lol if you got hit on haddonfield house loops you screwed up.
Eventually, the Killer would catch you, it will take about a minute or so.

It has a good use -- the problem is so do the other exhaustion perks, and they are not nearly as strict as BL.
The amount of loops in this game where the stagger reduction is actually useful I can counter on my hands. A good chunk of those are in Haddonfield.
And the amount of situations where I'd want to reduce the sounds I make when falling to be stealthy, and yet want the speed boost to activate at the same time is even fewer. I feel like if anything, this should have at least been separated from the exhaustion cooldown (maybe make it 75% volume reduction instead of 100% or something)
It's too niche when compared to something like Dead Harding for distance which works pretty much wherever and whenever you want, is what I'm basically saying. Nothing's changed -- maps still need to be redesigned for Balanced landing in mind, because instead of balancing maps around so it can't be abused, now they need to be rebalanced so this now-dead-perk can be useful on more than a very small number of maps in only one or maybe two specific locations with varying amounts of usefulness.
Coal Tower, Haddonfield, Combine, Ormond Lodge, The Game, need I go on? All of these are great BL spots that often link directly into loops that you would not make if not for the stagger reduction of BL.

Lol if your dumb enough to play into that kind of loop you deserve it. Beside that you dont need BL to do that at haddonfield.
Yes, you did. If you didn't you'd get hit when you recovered from the stun.
Almost every house had one of these, meaning if you chased Survivors near a house, they could run those loops on you and you would be forced to leave. Even the devs have said that it was a problem.

@Joekillu said:
Funny I haven't had an issue with people running BL I dont really see a reason for that nerf at all, but then I dont have a problem with any of the perks. Anytime they nerf or "rework " perks they seem to make them pretty much useless an never see anyone run them again. Shame.
It could create god loops and made Haddonfield a nightmare. It needed to be brought in line with the rest of the Exhaustion perks.

Unfortunately the perk is still going to be gutted. Balanced Landing spots on too many maps are too few and far between. Some maps the perk can't even be used at all like Sheltered Woods.
Guess it's time for me to use Dead Hard for distance like everyone else.
BL still has a good use, like every other Exhaustion perk. The only difference is that you can't abuse it to create god loops.

@Sairek Being out of the jurisdiction of their powers in only temporary, there is no consistent way to actively outplay and counter their powers. Hence why they need a nerf.
Also to all those thinking this is satirical, it isn't. I have provided a facts based argument with not one of you providing any real evidence against it.
Side Note- Also a consistent rank 1 killer.
Spine Chill for both GhostFace and Freddy. You can juke GhostFace and it is fairly easy to take him out of stealth.
-
Freddy is an M1 Killer so long as you aren't asleep. He can still be looped, Small Game and Spine Chill are great against him.
As for GhostFace, you can disable his power by looking at him. That's extremely powerful.

SWF is one thing, but...
The EGC is extremely biased towards the killers unless you get some decent Exit Gate spawns where the survivor has a fair chance.
Which it should be, if the Killer has stopped the gens from being done AND found the hatch, the Survivor SHOULD feel like it's almost impossible to escape.

I seem to find a new thread everyday about how DS is overpowered and needs nerfed but I never see anyone complaining about head on.
Decisive strike is a 4 second stun that can be used once maybe (OP)
Head on can be used infinite amount of times with a 60 cooldown (not OP)
Am I missing something because it seems people just complain about non issues?
Because DS can punish a Killer for doing well, Head On is just fun.

If devs get rid of god loops then instadowns should be their next target.
You can usually outskill instadowns. Iri Head should be 1 Hatchet, that's the only unfair one.
You cannot outskill god windows.

Oni are. Are you pretending that fighter games aren't similarly derivative?
They took great care with The Oni's design, it's not not something that fits well in the current roster by a design standpoint - less so than Demogorgon, and that was a stretch.
I think it fits nicely, as do most other people. It may not be a horror icon, but I'm not sure Christopher Lee's Dracula would fit in either.
Most people like it, let them like it.

@ElusivePukka said:
Not kidding in the slightest, though I might be mixing my fighting games - The Oni is some Mortal Combat/Street Fighter/Tekken bullshit. He's fine to play, but I burst out laughing when I see him, and the blood orbs are just about the silliest thing to be added to this game so far.
That...that just isn't true. I'm fairly confident that the Oni is a traditional Japanese demon.

While I have great sympathy for the devs, they should have been working on a FULL Legion rework the minute he got his changes in March.

Purple let's you take an extra hit, very useful.
Pink let's you heal in 8 seconds, extremely good imo.

She's probably one of my favorite Killers with a inbuilt stealth mechanic and slow down for the game. Shes incredibly versatile killer because of her set up.
While most people consider her mid tier at best I would personally say shes mid to upper A tier. Her RBT provides 12 plus X slow down time where X is traveling time. I include skill checks into Travel time. She has a wide variety of builds you can use anymore. Most importantly shes fun I mean crazy fun.
If your bad at chases shes suffers badly. The one thing Pig needs is a quick chase and end. Once you learn that and when and how to deploy RBT she becomes incredibly powerful. Ambushes are a bit weak, but they add mind game potential which is good. Just force a pallet drop or take control of it and learn to wall ride the dash.
The best buffs to her would be exposed works with Ambush dash hits. Speed increase in crouch and uncrouch, rework on some addons, and finally the roar is removed and added to successful hits.
Pure stall Killers are all low to mid tier.
Legion, Doctor and Pig.

If Ruin is lasting 80 seconds, that is great!
Corrupt and PGTW are decent alternatives.

It wouldn't change much in terms of killer viability, just make him a little more fun to play as. Just reducing the stun time and reworking the cooldown add-ons would be really nice
Even if it was only a 2 second stun, that's still usually enough time to get to a pallet.
-
Yes, I think everyone would enjoy this. If this is at all possible, I would LOVE to see it and it would go a long way with fostering a ton of good will with the community at large.

Not a exploit, but Nemesis pretty much brings back old Legion and after how much hate old Legion received, I doubt that devs will let this synergy work as it does now.
At least he is better than he is on Live.

I think he didn't make his point clear. God forgive i tried to lighten this topic. How rude.
And still i dont know which cooldown you guys are talking about.
Perhaps it is a matter of perspective, forgive me.
Myers needs time to Tier up to Tier III. I believe our friend wants it to be a better cooldown, I think he wants it to take less time to get to Tier 3.

No need to be rude, I think he wants Myers to have a better power and have it tied to a better cooldown.

This is simply not true.
You can see Survivors with FF even if they don't heal. Locating survivors to disrupt a lot of people is Legion's schtick. They still need to mend DW eventually or go down.
That is not "only works if survivors heal."
Legion's power does its job. It may not be what you want out of a killer's power, but if that's the case don't play Legion and play someone else.
How many people have you seen go down to Deep Wounds? Mending is a small problem. There is no pressure to mend and you have a long time to do it.
He is good at locating Survivors, but he has zero map pressure and nothing to help him in a chase.

The third one, Nemesis.
The fact if you stab someone or w/e and they stun you with a palette for 40 seconds they don't get affected by any terror radius stuff, that is terrifying when you think about it.
That means no borrowed time or any terror radius perks, and when they go to mend....and if you so much as exist near them they can't mend; with them having no idea where you are.
True. I think that perk will be nerfed before it comes off of the PTB. Seems very strong and I can't really see it being left alone, despite the fact that I think it is fine.

Yeah. He got a movement speed buff to 5.2 while in Frenzy from 5.0
His vault speeds also got increased.
The time to mend was decreased.
Perks like STBFL and Sloppy Butcher no longer work on Frenzy hits.

I'm fairly awful at the game and he is still one of my most effective killers even against red ranks, so he can't be that bad. Even if he was too weak though, doesn't change all my thoughts from a moment ago about the new changes.
His power is just awful, it doesn't help you at all. The new changes are definitely a nerf, if he had any stall potential, it just got nerfed.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/849107#Comment_849107
That's not true he was fairly decent- that being said I didn't see the new changes until just a second ago, and I change my opinion. Some of them are a bit much, but I agree with the mend changes they did because when I play survivor healing from him takes an eternity and then you realize you still have to heal the actual wound, and it's frustrating as all hell.
The rest of the nerfs though, I don't agree with. I liked him the way he has been the past while, and I do think he was balanced and fun in that period of time; but they are making it so I can't even use save the best for last anymore or anything on him and that sucks. That one change basically kills him for me, it gave him actual synergy with a lot of perks.
He was extremely weak. The majority of the community agrees on that and when this community agrees on something, it must be a big problem.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think legion is definitely less effective than he was, but they turned him down from frustrating and unbalanced to balanced and I don't get death threats for playing him in the lobby chat most games anymore.
So I think they did a good job on his changes actually, shame Spirit and Nurse couldn't get the same lol.
That is a common misconception. Legion was not good even before his changes, he was simply annoying and broken. Now, he just sucks. His power only works if the Survivors heal, which most of the time they don't.
-
@xZeroStrike said:
Problem is, simply extending gen time isn't the answer.
Not only will this make survivor gameplay more repetitive, it'll also make "genrushing", as we've come to call it, even more necessary to have chances to escape. It'll likely just make the game worse for both sides:
- Survivors have to do gens for longer, which already isn't the most interactive piece of gameplay.
- Survivors will attempt to genrush even harder to compensate, making games for killers worse in some / many occasions, too.
Exactly. Gens do need to take longer, but they don't need to take longer to complete. There needs to be an incentive to stay in the trial longer because as it stands now, the longer a match goes on, the better chance of the Killer winning. Therefore, it is in the Survivors best interest to escape as fast as possible.
Same goes with Killers tunneling Survivors. The game is stacked against the Killer when the trial first starts. His best option is finding one Survivor and taking him out as fast as possible. There needs to be an incentive for them to not tunnel one Survivor.
-
NOED doesn't need any changes.
